It’s easy to chase likes. It’s harder to live with conviction. In a culture obsessed with acceptance, many believers are trading truth for popularity—watering down the Gospel just to fit in. But Jesus never called us to be liked. He called us to be faithful. In this episode, we’re exposing the pressure to please people, the danger of compromise, and the reward of standing firm in a world that wants you silent. Choose conviction—even if it costs you everything.

(00:00):
Welcome to the JESUS LOVES U Podcast.

(00:02):
Today’s episode is for the believer who feels the tension.
— Between being liked and being faithful.
Let me start with this verse.
“For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God?
Or am I trying to please man?
If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
” – Galatians 1:10.

(00:23):
You won’t be liked by everyone.
— And if you are, something’s probably off.
⸻ We live in a world where the only “truth” that’s tolerated… is the kind that doesn’t offend anyone.
But the Gospel is offensive.
Jesus didn’t get nailed to a cross for being nice.
He was crucified because He called out sin, confronted hypocrisy, and claimed to be the only way.

(00:46):
John 15:19 says.
“If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own;
but because you are not of the world… the world hates you.
” So if you’re trying to follow Jesus and still fit in with a world that crucified Him— you’re going to feel the pressure.
⸻ Let’s ask a hard question.
Do you care more about being liked… or being loyal to Jesus?

(01:08):
Because you can’t have both.
• You might lose followers when you speak truth.
• You might lose friends when you won’t compromise.
• You might get labeled judgmental for standing on the Bible.
But Matthew 5:11 says.
“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you… on My account.
” God sees it.
He honors it.
And He blesses those who stand firm when it’s hard.

(01:31):
⸻ Conviction isn’t being loud.
It’s being clear, anchored, and unapologetic about what’s true.
It’s.
• Saying no to sin when it would be easier to stay quiet.
• Loving people enough to tell them the truth.
• Refusing to twist Scripture to avoid conflict.
And sometimes conviction looks like this.
Being left out.

(01:51):
Uninvited.
Misunderstood.
Mocked.
But Jesus said in Luke 6:26.
“Woe to you, when all people speak well of you…”.
If the world always praises you, chances are you’ve stopped confronting it.
⸻ Losing popularity might hurt.
But losing your testimony hurts more.
When you choose Jesus over approval, here’s what you gain.

(02:14):
• A clear conscience.
• A deeper walk.
• A real witness.
• Eternal reward.
Because at the end of your life, you won’t be judged by your platform, but by your faithfulness.
Live for the words.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.
” Not “Well liked.
” ⸻ Let’s pray.
Father, Help me stop living for people’s approval.

(02:36):
I surrender the need to be liked.
Give me boldness to stand for truth, even when it’s not popular.
Teach me to love with conviction, not compromise.
Make me more concerned with pleasing You than pleasing the crowd.
I want to be found faithful.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
⸻ This generation doesn’t need more people-pleasers.

(02:57):
It needs people who will stand for Jesus.
—even if they stand alone.
