Hey y'all, I'm Elliot Hall. This episode, we're diving into how crucial calories are in your fitness and weight loss journey. Building off what we talked about last time with diet management and caloric deficits, I'm here to unpack the whole 'calories in, calories out' concept and how it plays a massive role in managing your weight.
We'll chat about keeping a calorie balance and the effects of both caloric surplus and deficit. I’ll share some simple diet tweaks, like switching from regular to diet soda, and even better, to flavored waters. These small changes can make a big difference in your weight over time.
We're also going to clear up a common confusion between weight loss and fat loss. I'll share my own story of dropping 50 pounds, what I learned from it, and how it transformed my approach to fitness. Plus, we’ll very briefly get into macronutrients—fats, carbs, and proteins—and how to balance them to meet your needs.
Understanding your personal calorie requirements is key, so we'll talk about setting up calorie "budgets" to keep your intake on track without feeling burnt out. I'll be honest, building muscle while losing fat is tough, but I'm here with tips and motivation to help you make those small, impactful changes.
