Don Rogers spent 27 years working in community mental health as a front line clinician, local supervisor, manager, and executive level leader. He began his career in community mental health after receiving a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Morehead State University. He has direct clinical experience assessing and treating individuals from early childhood to the elderly. Populations served include individuals suffering from both mental health and substance use disorder conditions. From 2015 until his retirement in the fall of 2020 he served as Chief Clinical Officer of New Vista, a community mental health center in central Kentucky that served about 20,000 individuals per year in a 17 county region. Following his retirement from New Vista, he spent six months as interim CEO of Comprehend, a community mental health center based in Maysville KY. Don has also been very active in the Kentucky Psychological Association serving as treasurer and rural representative. Further, he is a certified trainer of the treatment model Partners For Change Outcome Management System (PCOMS). Throughout his career in psychology, Don has also been very involved in music. He is a songwriter, and plays multiple instruments. Since his retirement, he has worked as a professional musician, primarily playing fiddle and guitar with The Local Honeys. He also has recorded and performed with Nicholas Jamerson, The Marble Creek Rangers, Lance Rogers, Moonlight Mile, Arthur Hancock, and as a solo performer.
