The Longlist

The Longlist

Here at The Longlist, we celebrate movies and other pop culture through the storied art of rankings. There are no wrong answers. There are no bad opinions. And hot takes are always encouraged. We love movies and we love talking about them even more. Throughout each episode we’ll dissect a given topic, be it a director, actor, genre, studio, or even just a single movie that we really want to deep dive. And the way we really break down each topic is through a series of rankings, usually in the form of a ”top five,” ranging from serious film criticism to whimsical anecdotes. And finally at the end of each episode, we have our main top five list, which we have deemed the short list. Come for the short list and stay for the long list. Nothing we say will ever be the end all be all. On the contrary, we hope it will encourage similar conversations with you and your friends. We have a lot of fun and we hope you will too.

On this episode of The Longlist we are discussing history on films, or more accurately historic films. Josh and Jack were joined by their good friend, Kyle Jackson, who recently became a doctor in history, and we all had a blast. Kyle gave some welcome insight on the actual history discussed, and we covered as many historical eras as we reasonably could. Lots of laughs, lots of lists, lots of great info, particularly from Kyle, and...

Josh and Jack are again joined by their good friend, Adam Murray, for a fun, free form episode. They had a bunch of random lists that they'd been floating around that they didn't feel warranted an entire episode. This one is a little lighter, a little looser but still so much fun. Hope you enjoy.
