(00:00):
Now ask yourself this, what's the one thing,
if I did it every day, would move
my business forward the most?
Welcome to The Mindful Agent, where real estate
success meets health, mindfulness, and personal growth.
Join me, Michael Coxen, top performing agent, growth
director, and co-owner of Magenta Real Estate,

(00:21):
as I explore the intersection of wellness and
business excellence, helping you thrive in both real
estate and life.
Let's talk about something simple but powerful, just
one thing.
In our fast-paced industry, it can feel
overwhelming.
It can feel overwhelming to juggle everything, clients,

(00:44):
transactions, marketing, self-care, family, everything.
What if I just told you focusing on
one thing could change everything?
I recently read something that posed this question.
What's the one thing that, if you did
it consistently, would have the greatest impact on
your success?

(01:04):
It stuck with me because as agents, we
can easily spread ourselves too thin, trying to
do everything.
Instead, what if we poured more energy into
doing just one thing consistently and doing it
well?
This concept reminded me of Gary Keller and
Jay Papasan's The One Thing.

(01:26):
The book centers around a powerful question that
simplifies decision-making and clears clutter from your
priorities.
What's the one thing I can do, and
by doing it, everything else will be easier
or unnecessary?
This question helps identify the highest-impact tasks

(01:47):
that progress towards your biggest goals.
The authors emphasize that focusing on this creates
a chain reaction that makes everything else easier
or irrelevant.
Let me give you an example from my
life.
Early in my career, I tried to master
everything at once.
Cold calls, door knocking, open houses, direct mail,

(02:09):
social media marketing, you name it.
It wasn't until I committed to mastering my
follow-up that things shifted.
I realized that no matter how many leads
I generated, none of it mattered if I
didn't consistently follow up.
I built a system, set reminders, and committed

(02:30):
to meaningful follow-ups every day.
That one change made a huge difference in
my business.
Your one thing might be different.
Maybe it's mastering video marketing, creating better email
campaigns, improving your listing presentation or buyer presentation,
or even taking care of your mental health
so you can show up better for your

(02:51):
clients.
That's a good one.
Whatever it is, the key is consistency.
If you're not sure what your one thing
is, here's a mindful exercise I'd like you
to try.
Close your eyes if you can.
Take a deep breath through your nose and
let it out slowly.
Now ask yourself this, what's the one thing

(03:14):
if I did it every day would move
my business forward the most?
That answer you just felt?
Trust it.
That's your one thing.
And if you didn't get it or you're
not sure, then take a moment to journal.
Write down the first thing that came to
mind.
Spoiler alert, it's probably the one thing.

(03:35):
And write down any other things that came
to mind as well.
Make a list of all the ideas you
have.
All the ideas you think are the one
thing.
Try a free writing session and let me
explain what that is.
Free writing is a technique in which the
author, in this case you, writes their thoughts
quickly and continuously without worrying about form, style,

(03:57):
spelling, grammar, nothing.
So alongside brainstorming, free writing is typically used
to collect and manifest one's thoughts.
Give it a try.
It really works.
So try writing my one thing is blank
and just write down whatever comes to mind
without thinking about it or judging it.
Now here's the challenge.

(04:17):
Once you've identified it, build a system to
make it non-negotiable.
Schedule it, prioritize it, and protect that time.
Because the truth is, doing one thing with
intention beats doing 10 things half-heartedly.
So let's talk about time blocking.
This is the practice of setting aside dedicated,
uninterrupted time for your one thing.

(04:40):
I encourage you to create a daily routine
that revolves around this priority.
Whether it's one hour each morning or a
consistent afternoon block, treat this time as sacred.
Equally important is saying no to distractions.
Success demands focus, and that means letting go
of less impactful tasks so your one thing

(05:03):
gets the attention it deserves.
By focusing deeply, you gain momentum, just like
a domino falling and triggering the next in
line.
But in real estate, our results are rarely
that immediate.
But over time, that small, consistent effort compounds.
Whether it's nurturing relationships or improving your skills

(05:25):
or building better systems, showing up consistently for
one thing can transform your career.
So today, I encourage you to find your
one thing, commit to it, master it, and
watch how that single focus creates powerful momentum
in your life and business.
Thanks for spending these minutes with me.

(05:47):
If this message resonated with you, I'd love
to hear what your one thing is.
So send me a message or tag me
on Instagram with your commitment.
I'll be your accountability buddy.
Let's build momentum together, one thing at a
time.
Thanks for joining me on this journey today.
