The thymus is an important part of our immune system and produces various types of immune cell called T lymphocytes, or T cells for short. T cells are responsible for cell-mediated immunity, identifying infected cells as well as cancer cells.
Energetically, the thymus is also a part of our heart chakra. Various tensions in the body, including a "heart shield" can potentially interfere with optimal thymus function.
In this episode, I'll go over
- an overview of the thymus,
- the difference between B cells and T cells,
- 4 types of T cells,
- the hormonal function of the thymus,
- thyroid dysfunction,
- ways to support the thymus, and
- notes on the heart shield.
