(00:00):
Welcome to the next chapter podcast.
No shortcuts, no cheat sheets, no abridged versions, just the real deal, honest conversations, expert insights, and practical strategies to help you take the lead in your next chapter.
I'm Andrea Hecht, certified life coach, mom and midlife navigator.
(00:21):
Here to help you find your roadmap back to Joy, the journey of you so you can stop waiting for some day and start living now.
Because midlife isn't the end of your story.
It's your time to take center stage.
Let's go.
Your next chapter starts now.
Welcome back.
(00:41):
If you caught the last episode, we talked about how I don't have time.
It's actually a code for that's not a priority right now, and I get it.
That realization can be really hard.
To swallow, but once you do a time audit and actually see how your time is being spent, you gain something powerful.
You gain choice.
(01:02):
So that's what this episode is all about.
I'm walking you through my CEO method to time.
No, it isn't a productivity system.
I'm not here to help you hustle harder.
That's not the vibe I'm going for right now.
This is about feeling more in control, making intentional choices, and then focusing on yourself and what matters most in this season of life This becomes part of your roadmap back to joy, your journey of you.
(01:33):
Let me ask you this.
What would your day look like if you were making choices based on your needs, not just reacting to everybody else's? That's the energy behind this CEO method that I'm gonna teach you about.
It's not about squeezing in more, it's about leading your life with more clarity, with more alignment and more ownership of the things that you're using your time on.
(01:59):
Let's break it down for a minute.
The C and the CEO method that starts with clarity.
What actually matters to you right now? Not five years ago, not what your friend is doing, not what Instagram says should matter.
What do you want to feel more of? What do you want to create space for? What are you craving in this season? Clarity, that's really your filter.
(02:25):
Without it, everything just feels so urgent, when everything feels urgent, nothing really moves forward.
E, it stands for energy.
I.
This is especially important in midlife.
Your energy is not the same as it used to be in your twenties, it's not supposed to be, and that's okay.
(02:46):
I'm not asking what can you fit into your schedule.
I'm asking where does your energy flow best? Are you actually dragging through your tasks at 4:00 PM when your body really needs more rest? Are you constantly saying yes to things that leave you depleted because you're a people pleaser? And then there's no time for the things that would really fuel you.
(03:11):
Time management without energy is a recipe for burnout.
When you build around your natural rhythm, you find flow.
Again, you reconnect with yourself.
So the O in the CEO method, that's ownership.
This is a really big one.
You choose what gets your energy.
(03:31):
You choose what goes on your calendar, what goes on your daily plan.
You choose what stays and what has to go or what gets delegated.
I know there's a lot on your plate already between work and family and appointments and life.
Even with all that, you still have power because ownership means getting honest with yourself.
(03:52):
Not perfect, just being honest thinking about where is your time going what do you need to actually shift? What needs to be delegated, what needs to be let go? When you move from that autopilot into decision making mode, everything actually changes.
When I say be the CEO of your time, I don't mean that you actually need to be a robot with a perfectly color-coded planner, unless that makes you feel amazing.
(04:19):
What I actually mean is lead your time, like your life depends on it, this isn't about doing more, it's really about being more intentional, and it's about reclaiming your energy.
It's about reclaiming your choices, and it's about reclaiming your joy, the journey of you.
That's why this mindset shift really matters it's not about productivity.
(04:41):
It's all about power And when you lead.
Your time with clarity, energy, and ownership.
You stop surviving the day and you actually start shaping it and thriving this is the journey of you, nobody else.
If you want help putting this into practice.
I'm going to be dropping a link in the show notes to my CEO time method worksheet that I used with the women in the next chapter Circle.
(05:11):
It really shows you how I break time into departments just like a company would and how to audit, where your energy is really going.
This exercise will help you see your life with fresh eyes, not as chaos, but as something that you actually get to shape with intention.
