We first crossed paths working in hospitality at a country club, and our bond felt instant. Part of it was destiny: my best friend Yann Konan — the very first guest on The Patty Show — is from Abidjan, and another close friend Yanick (also Ivorian and my fellow personal trainer, who’s been on the podcast too) is part of this same circle. We actually met Yanick at The Bungalow in Santa Monica during a random night out! That shared Ivorian thread made meeting CJ feel like reconnecting with family.
