(00:00):
Hello! Welcome back to the SheRoom Podcast!
I'm your host. Today I'm going to be Dr. T. I know who I am today. Dr. T!
I'm still your auntie. See, Dr.
T is short for auntie. She said, y'all, she has the nerves, the nerves,

(00:24):
the audacity to call me corny, So I'm going to turn it up extra today.
Have y'all been having a good week? Have you been having a good week?
Now, my week has been pretty good.
We had some warm weather out here in the good old ATL.

(00:47):
And then it got cold again. Back to 30s.
She considered, well, 30s at night, maybe. me
but she considers 60s cold because
it is cold but 60s but 60s
it's it's gotten back cold and on top of that recently we had a power outage

(01:09):
so in our neighborhood anytime it drizzles it can can just barely drizzle or it gets a little windy,
our power goes out every single time.
It's so annoying. It's at least twice a month.
At this point, that means we lose all electricity.

(01:32):
We can't cook. We don't have a lot of the food goes bad.
We lose hot water. We lose heat. I don't know what they're doing over here,
but leaving us in the trenches is what they're doing.
Reminds me of back in the day. Not that I live back in the day like that.
But, you know, like you said, electricity.
No. Yeah. You said it right. Right. According to her, I might have come from

(01:56):
an outhouse or something from the times where they had outhouses.
I mean, they didn't have cell phones.
Yeah, girl, I had a cell phone in my early, well, no, when I turned 21 or,
wait, I don't know, in my early 20s.
I had a cell phone at like six. I bought her the cell phone. You were not six.

(02:17):
I was eight. You were eight. You were eight.
And I bought the cell phone. But anyway, let's see what we're talking about
today. What else did we do?
Producer, what's our first topic? By the way, that power outage is why this
episode is a little bit late.
Yes, we are so sorry, y'all, but they are tripping over here.

(02:38):
Number two, Yasha's birthday.
Yes, so the big news is happy birthday to you.
She acted like I was embarrassing her or something. but
anyway okay i'll get sophisticated if
you want me to get sophisticated darn it i can do
that too yes yes yes i had a

(02:59):
birthday or two recently yay had a birthday and you know i say or two because
i actually don't know when i was born in real life but i know when she was born
okay according to her she has two birthdays it's no story i don't even want
to get into it No, tell it,
since you're just going to have to bomb on me. It wasn't even on the agenda.

(03:22):
She doesn't know when I was born. I know when she was born.
Not one of my relatives know when I was born. I can't tell every detail about when you were born.
Okay, when was I born? It was a Washington State morning.
I went into labor, and I said, Mom, I'm in labor.

(03:44):
And it was rainy and cloudy.
And she said, come on, let's get in the car. And so she drove.
And I was like, okay, y'all, in my defense, she was an emergency C-section because I didn't know.
And apparently the doctors did not know this child was breech. We're listening.

(04:09):
Back when she was born, they didn't give ultrasounds like they do now.
Now, they give ultrasounds almost
every single day, it seems like now in comparison to how it was then.
I only got one ultrasound at three months pregnant.
They refused to give me any other ultrasounds. I even know she was going to be a girl.

(04:31):
Okay, let me take that back. I knew she was going to be a girl because God told
me you were going to be a girl.
That's another story. story but anyway I
didn't know she was breached the doctors did not know either it
was a surprise I got all the way up to
38 weeks long story short I
was under heavy medication because

(04:54):
I had an emergency c-section for a
few years I thought she was born on one day the
hospital said she was born on another day
what difference does it make you just have two birthdays so basically
she doesn't know when I was born because for decades she's been saying that

(05:15):
my birthday was on the 24th of the month and all of a sudden the other day on
a road trip no no less she goes you know what But I was under heavy medication.
They were probably right.
Your grandma was there? Hey, mama.
She wasn't drugged. I have two birthdays, so.

(05:38):
Yeah, consider yourself lucky. I only get maybe sometimes one day of presents, though.
She is a lie. She is a whole spoiled lie.
Nope. She's a whole spoiled lie. Matter of fact, this whole trip.
I'm a victim of circumstance. Anyway, this whole family trip was based around
her birth. No, let me tell you something.

(06:00):
This family trip was based upon the girls, my little sisters saying that they
wanted to go somewhere for their spring for their winter break.
And it happened to be your birthday. So it all worked out. So I was a second
afterthought. Just like I was on my second birthday.
You call that kill a bird, kill one bird, kill two birds with one stone.

(06:27):
I got it. I knew it was going to come.
Kill two birds with one stone. So, yes. So we took a trip, y'all,
to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.
Our producer, Peyton. Remember our producer Peyton, 12-year-old producer Peyton.
She planned our trip. Yeah, we had a good time. Thank you, Peyton.

(06:48):
Yeah, we went to the Smoky Mountains. We had a blast.
It was a short trip, but it was a good trip. And we had an Airbnb.
We had an Airbnb. It was great.
The house was nice. It was nice. There was a little discrepancy.
And, you know, there was some, like, hair in the bed.

(07:09):
It was a nice house though very a nice
house for entertainment right yeah but she
saw a hair on your and the pool sticks were
broken but you know i'm not one to complain oh i didn't know that yeah but anyway
so my mama if you see one strand of hair she's gonna wash everything so she

(07:30):
went through the whole house everything she washed all the sheets and blankets
but Went to the grocery store,
bought cleaning supplies, whole house. Yeah.
Here she is, my mama, y'all, her grandmama, on a trip cleaning the dang house that was already clean.
Anyway, that's another story. Okay, we had a good time. Yeah,

(07:52):
we were up, supposed to watch a movie and everything.
You know, everybody are early birds now. You know, the kids,
the adults, we're all early birds.
Well, I don't know about you, but your grandma kept us up to 2 a.m.
Oh, I was not washing our blankets. I put my stuff in first.
Yeah, she was washing our blankets. Nobody could go to sleep. My stuff was in and out.

(08:16):
I had covered with my jacket and I was knocked out. She's going to wake me up
to tell me, Trish, your blanket's in the dry.
And stop. Grab that blanket out the dry. You hear me?
Well, my stuff was on my bed, nice and neat, tucked in, cut up and worn.
By the way, we were close to the Dolly Parton. What do you call that, Dolly Parton Park?

(08:42):
Dollywood. Yeah, Dollywood. Thank you, producer.
Sir Dollywood wasn't open yet but we
want to go back and visit that because it opens in March
guys so in case you want to visit it
you know nice vacation spot for the family
we will be back maybe we'll see some of you yeah say
hi make sure you say hi to us if you see us but yeah

(09:04):
Dollywood we're gonna check that out you know
I'm a big fan of amusement parks I
always have been never been scared of the rides or anything
like that my mom on the other hand i'm scared
of heights i won't even lie yeah now
our producer she'll ride all the rides with me i don't know where to get it

(09:24):
but i didn't get it from me yeah but she's like scared of like stuff like that
like we drove up the mountains in the smoky mountains and they wanted to go
to the top of the dang mountain But we were in the car. It's not like we're hiking.
No, we were in the car. But let
me tell you, eventually, if you go up high enough, there's no guardrail.

(09:46):
And they have a person who's scared of heights driving.
And now I'm having anxiety driving up the dang mountain with no guardrails.
But it's not like the...
So, okay, the mountain had basically parts that came out. So it's not like you're

(10:07):
going to tumble down like thousands of feet.
No, she's like, if the car were to flip over, it would be like the next level
down. You could still die.
See, that's what I'm talking about. It was not.
Anyway, it was beautiful, though. We took a nice family picture,
she said. Insert picture here. Insert a picture.

(10:28):
So, okay. So before we move on about the trip, I wanted to say,
because I've always been a fan of Dolly Parton.
One, because I like some country music. Shout out to Beyonce and Texas Hold'em now.
That Hold'em. Thank you.
The reason why I like Dolly Parton
also so much, besides I think she's talented, she is such a nice woman.

(10:53):
She's a giving woman. She always has nice stuff to say. I love her from Hannah Martino.
She is so nice. Good golly, Miss Dolly.
I just love Dolly Parton, y'all.
So we're going to go back and visit Dollywood. Can't wait to go back.
All right. She's not going to ride anything, but yeah.
I might ride something, just not roller coasters.

(11:15):
Y'all, oh my gosh. So let me tell you, I turned her on to The Walking Dead.
You didn't even know about it. First of all, who didn't know about The Walking Dead?
Well, you didn't know how extravagant it is.
The Walking Dead, of course I knew about it. She never watched it.
There's nothing that most people can put me on to because I stay on top of myself.

(11:40):
No, but several seasons had already been out, And she had not watched The Walking
Dead, y'all, because I was like a baby when it came out.
The first time I started watching it was in 2015 or 14.
I mean, I didn't watch it initially when it first came out. Anyway,

(12:00):
I became a huge fan of The Walking Dead.
I have watched every single episode in every single.
