JESUS CHRIST - His Life - His Ministry - His Ever-Lasting Impact
On Traveling Through History, we take a look at the most important human being who ever walked the Earth - Jesus Christ. Born in Bethlehem as part of the "Nativity story" from the bible, Jesus was taken by his parents as a baby to Egypt for several years to avoid King Herod's edict to kill all newborn males. After Herod died, Mary and Joseph returned to Nazareth where they raised Jesus and his siblings, and Jesus grew up in a Jewish household. As he grew up he became a curious boy and was incredibly mature for his age, with the ability to debate scripture with high priests.
We go over Jesus's time as a Carpenter and laborer, and then at 30 years old, his Baptism by his cousin John the Baptist, which launched his ministry. We review how he built his movement very large in a short amount of time, to the point where he was considered a large threat to Jewish leaders in Jerusalem and to Roman Leadership. We discuss the trial of Jesus, his crucifixion, death and burial and then resurrection, which represents the "Passion" scriptures in the bible. We get into all aspects of his life, and the biblical and non-biblical evidence of his impact in creating the largest religion in the world - Christianity.
