Meet our Spanish heroine, Pepa Flores, and her eccentric world. She moved to New York to become a mystery writer against her mother's wishes. Still, she makes ends meet by working as a wig stylist at an Orthodox Jewish hair salon, where she sometimes moonlights as an amateur private detective for her salon's clients. She uncovers little dark secrets in their community until… well, you will hear… She lives above a funeral home managed by her landlord, LEOPOLDO, who, even though he is always after Pepa because she breaks some of the building's rules, really cares for her. Pepa is almost eight months pregnant when we meet her. The baby's father is (or at least, she thinks he is) her ex – JEAN PAUL – who broke her heart, lives overseas, and has no idea about the baby. "Señorita Flores" is Pepa's alter ego: the fictional detective of her mystery blog called The Strange Case of Señorita Flores… who (almost) nobody reads.
