(00:52):
Mm hmm.

And if you are returning, welcome back.

please leave us a review or a rating.
(01:13):
We got a comment recentlyon Reddit from KimmyB325.
Uh, she enjoys the podcast, uh, likeshearing stories and life experiences that
we share at the beginning of each episode.
Thanks, Kimmy.
I like telling them.
I know it's not for everybody.
(01:34):
Somebody else, I think, furtheron said they didn't like that.
But, you know, to each their own.
People have their own opinions.
Um, but, she even said it further on.
Like, the show's beenout for 20, 25, 26 years.
You know, since, um, Like, since wherewe are now, and know, people have
heard it already, and I'm sure there'sa lot of people who have listened to
(01:55):
other Buffy podcasts who were veryfocused on the story and the themes,
and I like that we're different.
We are different.
That's for sure.
That's what makes you special.
Somebody asked us, what are wegoing to do when this, when we get
through all these Buffy episodes?
Will we be doing another podcast.
I said, we've already gone through,we've, we will, by that time after
(02:18):
season seven, I think everybody isgoing to know everything about us.
We won't have any secrets.
I don't know.
I mean, last week, or was it last week?
Yeah, last week you dropped thatbomb about your band, Naked Salamis,
and that has not come up once in the12 years that I've known you, so I
Yeah.
there's still, I think there's stillmore, more tucked away for us to uncover.
(02:42):
When you come visit me, I'm goingto have found those recordings
and I'll play them for you.
I cannot wait.
Oh boy.
This one aired in May of 99 I haven'tchecked in with you for a while.
Do you recall?
Around like, where were you living?
What were you doing in May
(03:02):
May of 99 is right before I left my,my first out of college job to go
into my real IT job and start IT.
So I was miserable at my job
and I was ready to move on.
(03:23):
Big changes were ahead for young Melanie.
Nice.
How about you?
I let's see.
So this would have beenend of my junior year.
So I had just started my firstclinical internship rotation.
in hematology, where they basicallyuse me, you know, as unpaid labor,
(03:44):
uh, to, you know, run all the, themorning CBCs every single morning.
So it's, it was almost like factory work.
Like, that's what it felt like.
That's really what it felt like.
Like, I
indentured fortitude.
I almost dropped out of the,the clinical lab science program
Oh wow.
(04:05):
because I was like, is this reallywhat I'm going to be doing now?
Yeah.
it got better over time and I leftfor different reasons in a few years.
But yeah, that was,uh, was a little tough.
I ended up actually gettinghired at the hospital and worked
there full time two years.
But yeah, that was, uh.
That was a little rough.
Yeah.
So we're recording on Thursday andThursdays at work is when we do
(04:27):
our team meetings every other week.
We always start with an icebreaker.
It's something I think.
Actually, I, I started it like.
When we were a much smallerteam a year and a half ago, and
it's always something goofy.
It's not and it's not like a seriousicebreaker, you know, kind of a thing.
Um, and the whoever'sfacilitating the meeting picks it.
And today is was, uh, you know, what is a goal you have for 2025?
(04:49):
So I guess that one isa little hokey, but, um.
So, and of course, you know, a lot ofpeople did the usual kind of resolution
things, like, you know, work out moreor something, I didn't want to go
with, you know, a standard answer.
I said, well, I, my friendand I have a podcast.
It's been out for a little over a yearand we recently hit 10, 000 downloads.
(05:12):
Um, and I want by this timenext year to be at 25, 000.
Ooh.
Uh, so then, like, everybody's like, everybody starts talking at once.
Like, you have a podcast, what is it about?
Blah, blah, blah, blah.
All right, so that's a little taken aback.
but one of the, one of the peopleknows about it, and, you know, I
mentioned this about Buffy, and sheasked, like, what we're up to, and I
(05:35):
said, well, we're filming the seasonthree finale tonight, and then she
said, is that the one where Angel dies?
And I'm like, spoilers!
Spoilers!
And I wasn't the only one who saidthat, she's like, it's been out
for 25 years, it doesn't matter.
Uh,
I know, you've been good aboutnot spoiling for me, Sean,
it's tough,
I think that's tough for you.
(05:56):
You, didn't you spoil Doctor Who for me?
I did, I
That was early in our relationship.
That was, that was, yeah, that waslike, definitely within our first year
of knowing each other, but it was,it was after Amy, and Rory were on,
Yeah.
married yet, so.
Oops, I smiled there for people thatwant to talk to you and I just said
(06:19):
something about like, you know, Amyand Rory's wedding and you're like,
I didn't know they'd get married.
But I mean, it's, it's
You learn.
Yeah.
Yeah.
it's, again, this show has been out since1997 and it's, It is tough, like there
have been times, there are more characterswe're going to meet, and some of them
(06:43):
will go on to play some significant roles, and not to just drop, you know, that
person's name, or what they're up You knowsomeone someone put a comment on one of
the socials and it's it's not incrediblyspoilery But it was still a spoiler.
So like I gotta text you like we gota nice comment, but don't read it.
You are good at that.
Yes.
Don't read this.
(07:03):
Don't look at the screenshot whenyou're about to start the episode.
Don't read the comments.
I appreciate it.
it's it's what I do.
Uh, tuesday, I don't think I
Take good care of me.
I try Tuesday night or Wednesday night.
Um, one of the hosts, uh, Charley ofa guy, a girl and a Buffy podcast.
(07:25):
They're the ones who live in Georgia.
Um, he was doing a tiktok live.
Um, and I, I, it's like one of the oneswhere, like, it's not just like the
host talking, like everybody's talking.
they invite you, you can likejoin, actually speak in the
conversation, not just type.
and I was on there for alittle bit and I got on there.
He's like, so is thisSean or is it Melanie?
Cause if it was you, it'sgoing to be difficult
(07:46):
Oh.
know.
Oh, that was fun.
Um, Contest This point there is, Ibelieve, less than a week to submit your
entry for the five by seven by five haikucontest where you will need to submit
(08:09):
a haiku related to Buffy season three.
Uh, email it to us atthesunnydalediaries@gmail.Com and you will

Exclusive.
(08:29):
I mean, I want it, so.
I know, I kind of wantedto buy it for myself too.
She's got cleavage andeverything, you guys.
That's Vampire Willow.
So get those entries in.
Alright, graduations.
Let's talk about them.
Yeah.
How many, um, Yeah, we'll
I've had three graduations now.
(08:50):
Three graduations.
Yeah.
did you got to
all three?
I did.
Yeah.
Um, my high school graduation, Igraduated with a really big class.
I think there were about five of us.
It's almost 600 of usin my graduating class.
Um, the only thing I remember isthat I was in line and I had told
(09:15):
one of my good friends, or he knew, did I already tell this story?
I don't know.
That I had a big crush on this otherguy that I had gone to school with, um,
since, um, Sixth grade middle schooland he was like, you need to tell him
just tell him and So I'm waiting inline and He came over to me in line.
(09:38):
He's like, oh, yeah Michael told me thatyou need to talk to me about something
and I was like, oh my god And I didand I told him I've had a crush on you
for the last four years I just wantedyou to know and he said very sweet
and flattering and nothing happened
But you told him.
I did.
I told him.
I saw him at the 10 year reunionand he, man, he, he was so
(09:59):
cute still, but he was married.
He is now, uh, he and his wifeare sex therapists in Tampa.
It was cutie pie.
It was cutie pie.
My high school graduation, the one thingthat immediately comes to mind, I have a
picture and I will try to post it, but I,uh, had really bad posture, apparently,
(10:19):
so, like, they called my name, I'm, I'mwalking up there, and I'm like, I'm, like,
hunched over, like, practically like this.
And the picture that mysister took was me in the side
profile, so, like, I'm like, And
Wow.
on like I make a concerted effortto stand up straight when I walk.
Yeah.
Somebody at one job told me thatwhen I walk my hands are bunched
(10:39):
into fists and I look very angry.
Somebody told me that once too.
I was standing and she was like, whyare your hands bunched up like that?
I was like, because I'manxious all the time.
Was it where we worked together?
If it was, I understand.
Yes.
But I think it was right before Igot married to my ex, my ex husband.
And it was the lady that was going tobe, uh, officiating at our wedding.
(11:03):
And she was like, I was like, cause Iknow I shouldn't be marrying this person.
Again, you've neverbrought that up before.
Oh man.
Okay.
to me before.
Wow.
Okay.
Um, college graduation.
(11:24):
How about that?
Your bachelor's graduation.
My bachelor's, I thinkit was my bachelor's.
Yes.
My bachelor's graduation.
Again, I went to university of Floridaand they had two, Two graduation
sessions because there were just somany people graduating and they had
a really strict rule about you hadto stay until the end, you know?
(11:48):
And so my, my parents weredivorced by that point.
And so my dad, his parents, and my brotherwere like up here in the stand somewhere.
My mother and my best friend.
Who graduated the semesterbefore they were over here.
I had told them I'm not staying.
(12:11):
I'm leaving.
I'm going to make an excuse and get out.
And, uh, and they havepictures of this whole thing.
I'll have to show you some of these.
So after they did the collegeof education, um, I was
like, well, I'm leaving.
And so I get up.
You know, we're all on thefloor of the auditorium and
everybody's up in the stands.
And so, uh, I get up and Iwalk back to the back and, um,
(12:35):
there's people at a table there.
And I was like, I haveto go to the bathroom.
And they're like, well, you have to leave your cap.
This is how serious they were.
You have to leave your capbecause they know if you walk
out, you're just going to leave.
And so I left my cap and I went out tothe bathroom and I'm freaking out because
everybody, they all watched me get up.
And they're all like makingtheir way out because they think
(12:57):
they're meeting me outside.
And so finally I come back in,I'm like, I had to get my cap
because they're going to charge me.
You know, now I'd be like, screw the cap.
Who cares?
Yeah.
I'm out of here.
So I went back in and Iwas like, look, I gotta go.
And they're like, no, you can't go.
(13:18):
And I said, I have to go.
And my brother at the time hadbroken his collarbone or something.
I said, my brother is up there and he'sin like a full, uh, Like, you know, cast
thing, he can't sit here for four hours.
And they're like, well, then he shouldn't have come.
I was like, he's not going tomiss my graduation, you know,
and they gave me a lot of guilt.
And they were like, you should bereally ashamed of yourself or something.
(13:38):
They they like laid it on thick.
And I was like, OK.
And and I took my cap and I left.
I
But it really was.
It was like a four to five hour ordeal.
And I was like, ridiculous.
I'm sorry to the people thatwere graduating after me that I
didn't stay for your, your walk.
(13:58):
But yeah, the pictures are funny.
You can see me like there'sa picture of me getting up.
There's, what's that?
Didn't you have to buy the capping gown?
No, I think it was rented.
Oh, okay.
So
I think you, you gavethem some, some money.
They gave you some money, youknow, and then you got your
deposit back or something.
(14:19):
I don't know.
Right.
yeah, you could, there's apicture of me next to the table,
giving them a little story.
And then afterwards.
My parents' divorce was,was not a nice thing.
It was, it was pretty messy.
And so I had to, you know, takemy pictures with my mom and my
friend and then I had to leavethem and go take pictures of, you
(14:40):
know, with my dad and his family.
And there's pictures that my mom, I guessmy mom and my best friend took, stood
behind a tree and like took picturesof me getting my pictures taken with my
Dad.
I, uh,
dad.
I did not have that excitingof a story for my bachelors.
(15:01):
Um, I was lucky that they, um, more likethat, the health related schools were
not part of the main campus graduation
yeah,
that was like you described.
So
yeah.
small and in an auditoriumthat wasn't gigantic.
Hillary Clinton was our speaker.
Ooh!
(15:21):
I have a picture of me and Hillary.
That was cool.
I've never shown you that.
I don't think so.
See, again, you said we're gonna
We're just learning somuch about each other.
Um, and I think they started withthe lab, clinical lab class first.
So, you know, we're all on stage andthey're calling us one at a time.
(15:44):
It's like, polite clapping.
And then they get to me and it was, youknow, my sister, my dad, Mike was there,
Trixie Stix, and like three other friends.
And they're like wooingat the top of their lungs.
So.
yeah.
That's nice.
good memory.
Um, Pomp and Circumstancealways makes me tear up.
I don't know why, you know, thesong they play, Da na na na na na
(16:06):
Yeah.
me tear up when they play it.
So, I always get a little, alittle emotional at graduations.
Okay.
Yeah.
then my Master's, my Master's one, soI graduated from USF in Tampa, uh.
never
set foot on the campus causeI did everything online.
So my graduation was the firsttime I actually went to the campus.
Yeah.
other than like when you and I went tothe Sun Dome for the fall out boy concert.
(16:29):
Awesome.
And, um, so mileage wise, Ithink it's like 25 miles from
Yeah.
used to live in St.
Pete.
There was a lot of traffic.
Yeah.
It took us two hours to get there.
Oh, no.
And, uh, I was getting, Iwas getting anxious cause
(16:51):
Sure.
want to be there early.
And so
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's
Cause you're a Monica.
story.
Yeah, we made it.
We still have plenty of time.
But,
Right.
same thing, they didn't want us toleave, but people were, you know, were
leaving as they got their diploma.
Yeah.
Um, I don't remember muchabout my master's degree.
(17:14):
I know at one of them afterwards we wentto, um, lunch or something and, um, uh,
I My, uh, my step grandfather, I don'tknow, whatever my, my grandmother's
partner, um, was saying somethingabout getting an education degree and.
You know, I wasn't goingto make a lot of money.
Nice.
(17:34):
And, um, and I went on this huge rantabout, you know, it wasn't, man, I
was, I was brainwashed is what I was.
I was like, it's not about themoney and not another done.
I gave a whole big speech about it.
And yeah,
Well, good for
it is about money at some point, youknow, at some point it's insulting
(17:57):
what they pay, uh, teachers and,you know, you know, whatever.
That's a different, that'sa different episode.
Alright, you ready to get intoone of the best episodes of Buffy?
Really?
Wow.
That's some big words.
Okay.
All right.
Let me, let me rephrase that.
You want to get into one of my favorite
One of your favorite.
(18:18):
Okay.
Yeah.
Sure.
Let's do it.
Yep.
Um, my prediction was it's a two parter.
It's going to end on a big cliffhangerwhere we think the mayor has achieved
his goal and become a big strongdemon and that Cordelia and Xander
are going to come to a peace.
Some of
Yeah.
(18:38):
You think that's accurate?
I mean, I think Cordelia and Xander havekind of come to a little bit of a peace.
Yeah, that's the part I think is accurate.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay.
Um, yeah.
As then the rest of it, I don't know.
It was a little premature.
Um, this is an episode that waswritten and directed by Joss.
Yes.
You didn't, you
all.
watch part two, right?
No, you told me not to.
(18:59):
Okay, I know, I know, but I thought maybeyou were like dying from the cliffhanger
that you just had to know what happened.
No.
Very, very, um, did you, didyou look at the trivia for this
question, for this episode?
I did look at the IMDb trivia.
Okay, we'll talk about it at the end then.
(19:20):
Okay.
All right.
to talk
Okay.
All right.
So, previously on, Faith is evil
Previously on, same stuffwe've covered before.
Yeah.
Uh, Ascension, the Jackal Knife, um,and Angel's leaving after the Ascension.
Right.
Right.
Um, we open on graduation prep, caps and gowns, which was kind
(19:42):
of funny to me, like, you seepeople, like, trying on their caps.
I don't remember.
You know, I remember they werejust like, here's your cap.
Yeah, caps, yeah, like gowns, I remembergetting measured for my high school.
gown.
I don't remember what they didfor um, either of my college ones.
(20:03):
Yeah.
Um, theirs are maroon,
Yeah.
Mm-hmm
but we've seen that color before, likewith their sports uniforms and stuff.
Uh, what were, what were yourcolors if, if you remember?
I think the same, um,high school was blue,
Same.
blue and white.
Like a, uh, like a, like a royal blue.
(20:26):
I think also for, um, universityof Florida it was blue 'cause
they were orange and blue.
It's a good color.
They weren't teal
Right?
Yeah, like Cordelia wants.
Yeah.
high school, the boys wereblue, the girls were white.
Sexist.
(20:46):
.\ My bachelor's was black and gold, and then USF for my master's
black, and the tassel was green.
I get
Maybe I was dark blue.
I'm gonna have to go backand look at the pictures now.
It was so long ago, Sean.
Because now I'm thinking my, at leastmy master's was dark blue or black.
(21:07):
Hmm.
I'll go back and look.
I'm coming up on my 30thhigh school reunion in two
Holy
it.
moly.
Are you gonna go?
haven't gotten any of them.
Oh, you haven't.
Now, I don't, you know, we've talkedabout moving, and if we are up in
the Northeast, a stronger chance.
Probably not.
(21:29):
you're not gonna travel from Florida.
to be on Long Island, like, visiting my sister, I would go.
So that happened with my, with my mom.
She just happened to be in Massachusetts.
on vacation and found out her high school50th reunion was that week or weekend and
so she went yeah she did and she had agreat time and uh yeah isn't that crazy so
(21:53):
yeah if it happens like that you should go
Yeah, yeah.
Um, so and Cordelia arethere, as you mentioned.
Uh, Cordelia wanted Teal, which I'venever No, Teal would not work for
no no no no
She makes a little ahead.
Oh no, go ahead.
She makes a little snarky comment aboutclothes, which I mean, we've talked a
(22:18):
lot about Xander's wardrobe, but it's notmean like, like the previous episodes.
venomous.
Right.
Um, I did look up, I wascurious about his sweater.
Um, cause there was a mention of it inthe, in the trivia for this episode.
And so I looked up that brand of sweater.
(22:39):
I don't remember the name of it.
It starts with a J.
Um, it's, it's like a nicesweater, but it's kind of ratty
too, same time, but it's, um,apparently it's a vintage sweater.
And so that got me curious about.
You know how we were alwaystalking about their, their outfits
and the fashion in this show.
And so I did a little digging andI found this website called wear
(23:03):
your TV or something like that.
And they go through all thedifferent, uh, shows, whatever.
So I found for Buffy and they had, youknow, every season and they pick things
out like, um, Willow's red overalls.
Are vintage Dickies, you know,or her red sneakers, her orange
(23:24):
sneakers or this or that.
And so, um, but I'm looking at it andit's like, um, Oh, the, the red and
green shirt that Xander was wearing, the really loud red and green shirt.
He was wearing an episode or two ago.
Um, Vivian Westwood,
Wow.
right.
And like something else I waslooking at, um, uh, one of Cordy's
(23:47):
skirts, I think Dolce and Gabbana.
Uh, It's all like high end, superhigh end stuff, like no high
schooler is going to be wearing.
it is California.
Keep that in mind
It's California, but you know,Xander's parents are neglectful,
and they're not going to bebuying him Vivian Westwood, so.
I, cause I was excited.
(24:08):
I saw that shirt.
I was like, Ooh, I'm buying that for Sean.
I find it, find it.
But yeah, when I saw Vivian Westwood,I was like, no, I don't think I'm going
to be able to vintage Vivian Westwood
funny though, but this kind of this
out.
This vintage sweater.
Let me see if I can look upthe, look it up real fast.
(24:28):
Jers, Jersled, J E R S LS I L D, Jersild, Jersild.
Um, there's quite a fewJersild sweaters on this show.
I must, I don't knowanything about that brand.
If you do, if you guys do dropus a line, let us know what's the
deal with this Jersild sweaters.
(24:49):
Is that a thing?
Was it a thing?
I never heard of it.
Interesting.
And this
Anyway
is why we do the podcast.
Little tidbits like that,I love stuff like that.
Fashion commentary.
yeah.
They chat, and like you said, it's notvenomous, it's a good conversation.
(25:10):
And then, we move a little bit down thehallway, uh, by the stairwell, Harmony and
Willow are signing each other's yearbooks.
and they're both beingvery sweet to each other.
Ah, yeah.
Do you, uh, you still have your yearbook?
Yeah, I was on the yearbookstaff We talked about this.
So
Ah, that's
yeah, I do of course
(25:31):
Would you have, would you, wereyou the type that's like, you know,
anybody who wants to sign it, signit, like, were you like Melissa
Joan Hart in Can't Hardly Wait?
No, no, just my friends.
Yeah friends and some teachers I think
yep, okay.
they're signing, like you said, being polite, and then Harmony
walks away and Buffy walks up.
(25:51):
Don't you hate her?
Yes, with a fiery vengeance!
Vacuous tramp!
And then, and then, yeah, um,Buffy's like, it's like the
whole school is in the sixties.
Yeah.
It's like, everybody'sfeeling very nostalgic and
emotional about leaving school.
You know what else could have happenedin the 60s if they were together?
(26:14):
What?
Joyce, Joyce and Giles doing it.
That's right.
Twice.
Yeah, Willow is getting very nostalgic.
She misses P.
E., which, no, sorry.
Never would happen.
Um, Buffy's considering noteven going to graduation.
(26:35):
Yeah.
She's not feeling it.
No, Willow is getting nostalgicabout the soda machine.
I just
That was pretty funny.
the way she delivers the line, I pushyou for root beer, you give me coke.
I
Yep.
Yeah.
love,
Wistful.
Wistful.
you know,
(26:57):
And then we find out the mayor isgoing to be their commencement speaker.
yeah,
I don't remember who mycommencement speakers were.
I think Danny Werfel, the football player,uh, spoke at my, uh, bachelor's degree.
I can see that, you know.
Exciting.
one, one I remember is, Imean, of hard to forget.
(27:17):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Sure.
Of course..
Some old guy's apartment, oldguy with artifacts apartment.
Um, there's a knock at the doorand it's Faith and we find out this
is, um, Professor Lester Worth.
Uh, he's some kind of a professor.
We don't know yet what kind.
Um, and she comes in and she'slike, Oh, yeah, the mayor is a
(27:39):
big fan of, of your research.
And then she pulls out anotherbig knife and says, sorry,
the boss wants you killed.
He's like, I'll scream.
Who wouldn't,
Yeah, we wouldn't.
Yeah.
And then, uh, it's kind of funny howthey like pan away while she stabs them.
(28:01):
Cause we don't want to seethat violence on TV, you know?
right?
And then we pan over to a picture of avolcano, which we don't know yet what
that's about, but I was like, Oh, sothat's going to come into play later.
Right.
Right
was funny that he was like, um,come back during office hours.
Like, do students normallyshow up at professors
at your door.
(28:23):
I, I did have, um, an, an ew momentwhen he's like, call me Lester.
I was
I know.
I know.
I know.
And the look on his face.
I was like, Oh no, no,it's not going that way.
No, I know.
The, uh, actor, I looked himup cause he sounded familiar.
(28:43):
Hal Robinson, not to beconfused with Jack Robinson,
hmm.
you know, just your usualnineties law and order
I say law and order.
Credits, right.
Then we're at Faith's apartmentwith the Faith and the mayor and
she's off in another room andhe's tidying up her apartment, you
(29:04):
know, with his anal retentiveness.
Yeah.
Yep.
Yep.
She comes out wearing a Buffy dress.
Yep.
Pastel pink, kind of ruffly dress.
Yeah, very girly.
And, uh, she's like, it's not like, this isn't me, you know, but he's so,
you, you know, you look beautiful.
(29:24):
Um, do you ever, is it,is that a thing for guys?
Like, do you put on something andyou're like, this is totally not me.
Oh, absolutely.
Like definitely.
Yeah.
Okay.
When I lived in California, there was this very trendy dress.
It was like an off white,um, but it was like all lace.
(29:45):
And I loved this dress.
I just, every time I saw it,I was like, I love this dress.
I knew it wasn't me.
I knew it wasn't gonna look good on me,but I put it on and I was like, Oh, Oh no.
Oh no.
In like early high school, likeninth, 10th grade, my aunt would
always get me like tracksuits,
(30:07):
Yeah.
tracksuits.
Yes.
And I put it on and Iwas like, I can't do it.
I just
No.
It
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
So we feel what you're feeling.
Dushku.
you know, he, uh, as he seesher in the dress, she said,
I feel wicked stupid in it.
Uh, he said, you know, nofather could be prouder.
(30:30):
Yeah.
something I noticed, I was watchingthe credits because I thought this
was, uh, written and directed by Mr.
Whedon, but I couldn't remember.
And as they're showing, like, you know,You know, the, the, the main cast and
like the, the credits that repeat everyweek and then right at that they like up
a couple of names like once we get backinto the story and it was like Kristinej
(30:51):
Sutherland for Joyce and a coupleof other ones and then you sometimes
see like and Eliza Dushku as Faith
Okay.
as Principal Snyder and I justwonder why that is like why, why
not Kristine Sutherland as Joyce.
Um, it's curious if you knew,
(31:11):
You mean, having them as,instead of just having
you're just
as part of the main cast?
yeah,
That's gotta be a, I mean, I don't know.
I would guess that it's some kindof contractual thing, like You know,
it may, based on screen time orline, number of lines or something.
I don't know.
(31:33):
Maybe somebody listening can, can, uh, who knows more about show
business than we do can enlighten us.
and then that scene ends withhim saying, I'll buy you an icy.
I know he really is like a dad.
Oh, sick and twisted dad, but he is,is very much a dad figure for her.
(31:56):
And she, she leans into it, man.
She's like, she gets excited.
Ooh, I see.
Ooh,
Right.
Um, so then, uh, let'ssee, we're at school.
Yep.
Outdoors.
Willow is riding in her Schwinnwith the high banana bars.
(32:16):
Yep.
Cute.
Um, and Percy, uh, meets her thereand he's very excited because he
got a B minus on his history paper.
So all the tutoring is paid off.
Yeah, that's right.
He's very grateful.
When Oz walks up, I wasn't sure, likehe had this look on his face, like
he was kind of possessive about her.
(32:37):
I don't know if I was reading that right.
no, I saw that too.
Yeah.
Yeah,
Um, I also noticed his hairis finally not that yellow.
I don't know if this is the firstepisode where it's not that yellow, but
it's like a more natural brown red now.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
throwback with Percy to Doppelgangerland, you know, when he mentioned,
(32:58):
you know, basically, thanks forkicking my ass at the bronze.
And she goes, well, Percy, thatwas, was for your own good.
Don't even bother, don't go there.
Um, and so then Willow and Oz arekind of talking and she says, you
know, we need to find a spell orsomething to stop the ascension.
(33:20):
Okay.
So that's going to be their focus.
And then we are in Mr.
Miller's class.
Oh, I didn't see the name.
Yeah, um, we are in Mr.
Miller's class and he is like, youguys, I know you took your finals.
Your time is short.
You're ready for, this is a classand we are all going to participate.
(33:40):
Mr.
Harris.
And then he says, E.
And it turns out they're playing hangman.
That's pretty funny.
Um, so Mr.
Miller, um, is played by actorJames Lurie, who was in a
TV movie called Tutor Pimp.
Wow!
(34:01):
that's what it is.
Tutor Pimp, uh,
was he,
and
was, so was he the Tutor Pimp?
yes,
Okay.
um, he, it's just said somethingabout the, the, uh, the summary said
he gets two unlikely women into acollege, so I'm assuming they are.
(34:24):
Hookers.
Um, he also had a lot of narratorroles in different things.
And so I was like, Oh, hemust have a good voice.
And yes, based on this classroom, what he was taught, you know, when
he was talking in the classroom, hedoes have a very good narrator voice.
Interesting.
And so while he's playing hangman withthe class, Xander and Anya are having
(34:45):
a conversation at full voice like this.
volume.
Like, uh, like what's noteven trying to whisper.
again, like I remember like when we,that was in, um, Bad Girls, when Buffy
was talking to, Willow and Xander duringthe test, and I was getting anxious.
(35:08):
I was getting anxiety again, because like, You're in a classroom!
Lower your voice.
I feel like that's how peopletalk in movie theaters now.
There's no there's no whispering.
People have lost the artof the whisper, I think.
Yep.
Um, so anyway, Anya is kind of talkingto Xander about, she wants him to,
(35:29):
she wants to go out with him again.
And she's like, maybe, you know, wecould do some entertaining thing.
Maybe a sports,
Men
men like sports,
They, Xander's like, Yes,they eat of the beef.
They like the sport.
And they enjoy to look at the bosoms.
(35:50):
that's right, that's right, she's trying,
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
We find out that she, uh,Survived an ascension.
yeah, he, well we don't know thatyet, but we, he does mention the
ascension, her eyes go really wide, and then you're like, oh, what, what?
But yeah, um, then, uh, we're back inthe library and, uh, Buffy's got the
(36:14):
Sunnydale Press up and, uh, you know, the headline, Professor Murdered.
Um, and of course Buffyknows right away who did it.
Um, and then he's Gilesand Wesley are fencing?
Mm hmm.
Did you call in your husband?
Why, why are they, they'renot, don't want to train.
This is just, you know,eh, what do you want to do?
(36:36):
Well, yeah, they'reBritish, so we'll fence.
My, my husband, my husband is a fencer.
Did you call him in?
No, I'm sure he'll be very excited though, when, when he hears us talking about
it, um, although he will be upset toknow that they were not wearing correct,
uh, fencing gear, they didn't have onthe apron or the, um, the headgear or
(36:57):
anything, they just had the, um, theyjust had the epees, epees, he'll tell me,
Yeah, yeah.
or sabers,
was gonna.
I don't know if it was an epee or a saber, and I'm sure he'll tell me that too,
Yeah.
Isn't
um, yeah.
Is there a foil or am I making that up?
There's a foil.
I don't know if that's different again.
(37:17):
We'll, we'll bring him in.
Okay.
Wait, let me see if he'll come in.
Hang on.
Lemme, I'll knock on like, this is whatwe used to do in our dorm room when
the, when our suite mates gonna call,
we have been summoned
. Alright, so here ismy, um, fencing expert.
(37:41):
Okay.
So there was a scene in Buffy where,um, Giles and Wesley are fencing
in the middle of the library.
Um, and we're not sure what kindof a, um, uh, blade they're using.
Weapon.
Can you explain to us the differencebetween an epee Is that right?
(38:01):
I think.
Uh, foil and a saber.
Sure.
How much time you got?
We got 30 seconds.
Oh, no.
I can't do it longer than 30.
Um, okay.
So, so fencing, there are, likeyou say, there are three primary
weapons in, in Olympic fencing.
Okay.
Um, foil and F.
(38:22):
A.
are point only weapons, meaning.
You score only with thepoint of the weapon.
Saber is an edge weapon,so there's a blade.
Okay, gotcha.
This was not that.
Okay, so it was either foil or epee then.
Okay.
Okay, so um, the, the biggest differencebetween foil and, and epee is the
rules of who gets the point whenboth people hit at the same time.
(38:46):
But they look, they look the same.
No, they're, I mean, if you look atthem up close, there's very differences.
There are big differences, but youknow, if you're watching on a YouTube
video, you may or may not spot it, um,with epee targets anywhere in the body.
And the rule is, whoever hits first wins.
(39:07):
Okay.
Foil, the target is what wouldbe considered a deadly blow back
when you were training for rapierduels, is really where it came from.
So, basically the, the, the, the, the torso.
So no arms, no legs.
Got it.
And no head, even though head wouldbe a, uh, deadly blow, you know,
(39:28):
back before they had good masks andstuff, they just decided it was, you
know, bad form to encourage peopleto hit each other in the face.
Three hours later
Okay.
So the head was not part of it.
Okay.
And the other difference isthat it doesn't necessarily
matter who hits exactly first.
It matters who has What'scalled right of way.
(39:51):
And the idea is Melanie, if you andI, if you and I are fencing and I have
started an attack and if you stickyour blade out and hit me in the chest
and I hit you, then I get the point.
Interesting.
Because the idea is your highestpriority is to defend yourself against
somebody who is trying to attack you.
(40:12):
Whereas epee, it just matters whohits first, first blood, which is
what a lot of the early duels were.
Um, but, uh, foil was more about, okay, I'm really trying to not
get hurt while I'm doing this.
So, if somebody's trying tohit me, my highest priority
has to be to defend myself.
Okay.
I have no idea what they, what theywere doing, what they were using.
(40:35):
Yeah.
It's hard to say from this specific image.
Uh, but it, because saber, the actualweapon, the grip has a bell guard that
goes around the hand, which is kindof what I'm seeing in that picture.
Um.
But, uh, the, uh, epee, the bellguards, it doesn't go completely
(40:58):
around the hand, it's just kindof a, a, a, a, a half circle.
And foil, it's a little smaller than that.
But, you know, most, uh, most TVand movie based fencing stuff,
not terribly accurate anyway.
So, especially the fact thatthey're doing it without a mask
on, that's, that's bad form.
(41:20):
Bad form.
So, yeah, for, Sunnydale Diaries viewers.
Don't fence without your masks.
It's a good way to lose an eye.
You don't want to do that.
You'll poke your eye out.
Yeah, you'll shoot your eye out.
Thank you.
Okay, am I done?
You're done.
Okay.
Thank you.
Alright.
So there you have it.
(41:40):
So anyway, uh, the funny part tome about this is that Giles is just
kind of standing there like, oh,and once again, Wesley is like, full
bore, trying to assert himself and.
Physically and mentally and,and uh, not doing so well.
They need to figure out the motive forkilling Professor, uh, what was his name?
(42:03):
Professor, uh, Lester.
And, uh, that's what I wrote.
Wesley is trying again to be in chargeand is, as usual, is a step behind.
And is just seeming foolish.
He's kind of like, uh, he's kindof like comic relief, isn't he?
Yeah, at this point he is.
Yep.
Um, yeah, that's why I saidGiles seems so relaxed and casual
these, these days compared to him.
(42:25):
Yep.
He's breezy.
Um, Xander and Anya walk in andthat's where we find out truly that
she has witnessed an ascension.
And she talks about, um, ithappened 800 years ago in the
Kraskov valleys in the Urals.
Which, the Urals are in Russia,um, I did not find anything about
(42:45):
Kraskov, Kaskov Valleys though.
Um, a sorcerer became theembodiment of the demon Lohesh
and decimated the village.
Lohesh was a four winged soul killer.
Which is what my exboyfriend refers to me as.
I thought it was interesting, before they came in, Buffy made a
(43:08):
comment that she can't kill Faith.
It
Yes.
very clear.
It was in passing, but it was like,
Yeah.
what's gonna happen, so I recorded that.
We'll see.
We'll see.
Um, so then we also find out this was newsthat the demons that are walking the earth
are tainted because they're part human,
(43:31):
Mm-hmm
but a true pure demon is differentand then they say, well, how?
And say, they say for onething, they're way bigger.
We don't find out otherwise anyother ways, but that's the big way
we know, um, which was interesting.
I thought demons were demons.
We just keep learning things
I know it's educational.
(43:52):
outside the school.
The mayor and Snyder arereviewing the graduation set up
Yeah.
already have the, the, all thechairs out and how it's, you know,
how the ceremony's gonna work andMayor compliments Snyder on his job.
You know, Sunnydale owes you a debt.
So does Snyder know what is themayor is and what he's going to do?
(44:20):
He can't know everything, right?
He's just like a, a pawn,
That's a good way to describe it.
right?
He just knows he's very powerful.
Do you,
I don't think he knows that he's,you know, trying to ascend and is
invulnerable, any of that stuff.
I don't think he's clued in at all.
do you think he knows that he's beenaround for a hundred years or whatever?
(44:44):
I don't think so.
Do you, but he does knowabout the hell mouth.
Yeah.
And he knows there'ssupernatural stuff going on.
Yes.
I
um, and still he seems to be more worriedabout drugs in his school, which is crazy.
So then, um, we go back toAnya and she says she doesn't
(45:06):
think the mayor is Lohash.
That he, that he seems different.
And what about those spiders?
And what about the gravlax?
forgot that there was the gravlaxjoke in this episode, when
I suggested it last episode.
I was like, they shouldmake a pun like gravlax.
I
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
(45:27):
Yeah.
And then the mayor walks in.
Mm hmm,
And there's really, like, dramatic music.
And it's like this big tense moment.
And uh,
go.
one of her quips and then he laughs.
He is like, I'm going to eat her.
that's right.
Yeah.
(45:48):
And then Giles sinks thesword into his chest.
He's like, yeah,
He pulls it out, he wipes itoff with a handkerchief, which
handkerchiefs are just gross.
Um, doesn't, he doesn't actuallywipe anything off of it.
It's
I know, I know, yeah,
I guess, you know, I guess it'spossible that like, he can't even bleed.
(46:10):
Like it could just like, gointo him and heal immediately.
So, okay, I'll, I'll givehim some leeway with that.
Mm-hmm
um, and then he leaves, um, and thenwe're in the hallway and Xander is
trying to get Anya to help them, but Anya is like, I'm booking it.
I'm out of here.
Um, and you should be too.
(46:32):
You should run.
And then, uh, and then this was a littlefunny more moment when, uh, Cordelia
comes in and, and she's like, what's up?
And Xander says, well, the mayor'sgoing to kill us all at graduation.
She's like, oh, okay.
Are you going to fifth period?
Nope.
Okay.
We go now to Joyce and Buffy's house andJoyce finds Buffy packing and assumes
(46:55):
she's running away, but no, she's packing
idea.
Joyce's stuff.
Yep.
And this is another episode of, ofBuffy is going to play the adult.
Hehehehe.
And speak rationally to her mother andbe like, you can't be here, you know?
And, and Joyce is like, I can't leave you.
And she's like, you're gonna get mekilled if you stay and she's right.
(47:19):
You know, cause she'll be worriedabout Joyce and, and, uh, she
can't focus and Joyce is there.
Um,
uh, I laughed when, you know, Georgewas like, What, is some terrible
demon going to attack the school?
And Buffy's just looking at her like,
she's like, Oh, I laughedwhen Joyce is like,
(47:40):
I
on everything that's happened, maybe Ishould have sent you to another school.
And I was like, saysevery Sunnydale parent.
And yet none of them have takentheir kids out of the school.
We cut to Willow and Ozdoing research for spells.
(48:02):
They're having trouble finding one.
Um, and Willow is feeling insecure andsaying, you know, I'm, I'm no witch.
I, I can't even turnAmy back to, from rat.
Poor Amy is still a rat!
Oh my god.
They're saving a ton on casting
Yes, yep.
by keeping her a rat.
(48:23):
She's, uh, got a nice little habit trail.
Yeah.
Um, and then, you know, Willowis freaking out and Oz is just
being Oz and she's getting upsetwith him for being like that.
She says, you know, you're, you'rebeing ironic detachment guy.
We're all going to die.
And he's like, well, doyou want me to panic?
And she says, yes.
(48:43):
Yes.
Yes.
And so he like lunges at her and kissesher and she's like, what are you doing?
And he says, I'm panicking.
That's not panicking.
Wow.
I mean, it's an outburstof emotion, I suppose.
Yep,
And then, and then it's, you know, impliedthat they're going to do it, which is
(49:06):
good because you know, you don't how manychances you are going to get to do it.
Yeah,
After graduation.
Um, Buffy is at Lester's apartment.
Checking things out.
And Angel comes in.
Trips through the door.
Sly, Fly, sneaky guy.
Yeah.
Um, Giles asked him to go and back her up.
(49:29):
Buffy doesn't seem pleased with that.
Um, but she did find a report on Uh,the professor's excavation of a lava
bell bed, and he was a Vulcanologist.
Um,
A volcanoologist, so
Volcanoologist.
Is that what?
Yeah.
so says the Northwestern accepted student.
(49:53):
Yes.
, Buffy doesn't want his help.
And they argue all the way outinto the middle of the street.
I didn't take any morenotes except for that.
I think I even put yada, yada, yada.
Yeah, there was a lot of that.
All I wrote was that he was carryingthe box with the professor stuff.
Um, he tells her, just becauseI'm not acting like a brat,
(50:18):
He does say that.
ooooh.
I know.
Yeah.
Thanks.
said, I can't have you in mylife when I'm trying to move on.
And as she says , move on, thearrow comes and goes right through
Shoot!
all.
Yep, again, that old crossbow.
Man, season three is theseason of the crossbow.
Were you surprised?
Did you make a face?
Were you like, Oh, yeah.
(50:40):
think I might have gasped.
Yes, um, and
I like how they shot it becauseit's faith up above the movie
theater, the sun cinema.
yeah,
So, standing behind the sun, so thesun got him, I thought that was cool.
all right.
That's really a reach, Sean, but okay.
I guarantee you, if you Googlestuff about this episode,
(51:01):
lots of people have said that.
Oh, man.
Okay.
All right.
Um, he, oh, and then the demonshe's with says, you didn't
get him in the heart though.
And she says, I, I wasn't trying to,
so we're at the library andthey take the arrow out.
Yeah, and then, um, Wesley is doingmore research on Lester's work and
(51:28):
finds that, um, there was somethingabout a volcano bed in Kauai, and they
found a carcass underneath and thatthe professor thought maybe it was a
dinosaur, but no, it's probably a demon.
And
hmm.
then Giles makes the, uh,or assumes or predicts.
(51:49):
That the mayor, since this demondinosaur guy is dead underground, that
if the mayor turns, ascends to becomethat demon, he'll be vulnerable, right?
And then, um, at the sametime, angel tries to get up,
but he collapses to the floor.
And it turns out that the,uh, Arrow was poisoned.
(52:13):
They'll have to run some tests.
Yeah, they'll run some tests.
Yep.
Um, so, and then I just wrote, yep, she lost the V card.
At least she didn't die a virgin.
right before that though, Wesley sayshe's going to contact the council
about this and see if they can help.
Right, right.
(52:33):
Um,
Willow, Willow is
Willow and Oz are laying inbed post coital bliss in their
moment of pure happiness.
Yeah, Oz with his completelybare childlike chest.
(52:53):
Um, so Willow says she feels different.
Um, the phone rings and she's like, hello, blah blah we got to go.
I timed it.
I broke out the stopwatch.
2.
92 seconds after she saidhello before she hung up.
(53:16):
What could they possibly have said to her?
I need to talk to you now.
Click.
I
Angel's dying?
Don't know.
Yeah, it was, it was funny.
It was very, very fast.
Well,
Yes.
ingest.
Yeah.
Um,
he
now we're back at the mayor'soffice with the box of spiders.
(53:38):
Um, Faith comes in to deliverthe good news that Angel is
down, what are we gonna do next?
And he says he's gotta dothe ritual, ritual of Gavrok
and eat some of the spiders.
And she says then, you're, yeah, you're wicked, what'd she say, you're
wicked gross or something like that?
She said wicked a coupletimes in this episode.
(54:00):
like focusing on the Boston.
Yeah, yeah.
So he says, yeah, I have to ingestsome of those and she's like, ingest?
What does that mean?
It means
Oh my god.
If she was going to school, she might know that.
That's right.
Um, he calls her his little firecrackerand she, again, yada, yada, yada,
(54:24):
has some backstory about how that'swhat her mom used to call her.
Um, and she's like, what can I do?
I need to do something.
Am I going to fight more?
You know, she's real revved up.
Who can
Um, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Um, and he's like, just go get some rest.
Now we're back at school.
It's nighttime.
We're in the science lab.
(54:46):
Um, Willow is sending Xander offto the magic shop for supplies.
And he's like, I don't have any money.
And she's like, just tell him it's for me.
Like she, she's got a tab or something.
yeah.
Um,
Oz is fiddling the foreground with amicroscope and I rewind a couple of
times, I can't tell for sure, there'snot anything on that microscope stage.
(55:11):
I'm like, is that a slide?
I don't, I'm pretty sure therewas absolutely nothing on that.
He's a tech guy.
He's a tech guy.
He's not a biologist.
Give him a prop slide, to look at.
Something!
Ugh.
That's season five.
(55:32):
Okay, Anya comes in and she'sjust had to see Xander and try
and convince him to go with her.
Um, she's, she says she'sgot feelings for him.
Uh, she doesn't understand it.
Makes it, she feels likeshe wants to throw up.
And he
She says, I'm sorry I didn'tgive you the barfy feelings.
(55:53):
Yeah, but he's not going, and
He's not going.
I have friends, I'm not leaving themand she just, she doesn't get it
and then, and then she's like, fine.
I hope you die.
Wait, aren't we going to kiss?
I love Anya.
I really
Um, Buffy is at the mansion at Angel'sbedside where he's definitely not
(56:16):
breathing hard while he's in pain.
Um,
moist.
He's
it's that he is very, he is very wet.
For
Um,
the episode, I will bereferring to him as Swangel.
It's a combination of sweaty and Angel.
okay.
Swangelous.
Wesley comes in.
(56:37):
He says that the councilcouldn't slash wouldn't.
Help angel.
Um, they have a policycan't go against policy.
Freaking council.
We know this right?
Freaking council.
Um, and then they, he, he's tryingto tell her your orders, Buffy.
And she's like, I'm, I'm notfollowing their orders anymore.
(56:58):
I'm, I'm not, I'm done.
She is resolved.
I,
And then he does make a good pointand he's like, you know, they're,
they're doing this as a distraction.
You know, you need tofocus on the Ascension.
This is, this is.
This is just to take you awayfrom that and she's not listening.
Um, Buffy then leaves and she'sgoing to go help the others.
(57:21):
She, she said to him, I'mwatching my lover die.
And I was thinking, what wouldhave happened if he just says
in his little accent, Ex lover.
I think he would be dead.
I think so.
Yeah.
And I, and I liked when he said, youknow, this is mutiny, and she said,
I like to think of it as graduation.
Because,
Yeah.
What, what is the council doing?
(57:42):
What has the council done?
In the last three years besides, youknow, drug her and almost get her killed.
Right.
Right.
Right.
And then she's like, get a job.
Willow has figured out the poison.
It's called killer of the dead and it'sused to kill vampires specifically.
(58:04):
Um, there's only one or twovague accounts of it being cured.
Okay.
The only way is to drainthe blood of a slayer,
which I momentarily forgotthat there were two.
And I was like, Oh my God, Buffy,he's going to have to drain Buffy.
Uh oh
He's not going to do that.
But she's like, no, I'll get faith.
And I was like, Ohyeah, that's convenient.
So
(58:26):
Um, Xander's line of, uh, come onguys, the suspense is killing Angel.
yeah, that was good.
Um, now we're looking for Faith.
And Buffy says it's timefor the confrontation.
She's ready to take her down.
She's going to kill faith.
Then we have a little montage of prepand angel sweating and Faith being
(58:51):
her badass, you know, self mm-hmm
Yep.
Uh, Buffy grabbed the jackalknife from the library
Um, we're at Faith's apartment now wherethere's, you know, the badass apartment.
She's got the rock musicplaying lookin at some comics,
eatin Twizzlers like a badass.
Actually, sucking on a Twizzler.
(59:13):
Okay, whatever, you know.
To each his own.
It's
Um, Buffy comes in.
Buffy enters wearingher ass kicking clothes.
That is an iconic Buffy outfit.
Yeah?
Alright.
I,
The
did
red leather pants.
You did?
You did.
of her in that?
had, I, I owned that when I used tohave a lot more Buffy memorabilia.
(59:36):
Yeah.
Iconic.
. They have the face off.
In, in the living room.
Which is You know, luckily, very big.
A good place to have a little fight.
Perfect.
Um, and then their stuntdoubles have a fight.
And their stunt doubles, again, are so obvious in this fight scene.
(59:58):
And the ensuing fight on the roof, whereyou can see the mats they're fighting on.
I I
I didn't, I
Oh.
that.
I
Yeah.
The bouncy waltz.
the mats.
Okay.
There is our plate glass momentof the week when they crash out
of the apartment onto the roof.
Yeah.
(01:00:19):
When they go through the window,Buffy slaps a handcuff onto
her wrist and Faith's wrist.
Yeah.
I forgot about that part.
That is smart.
Yeah.
In the middle of all that, we, uh, wecut back to Swangel, who's like, Buffy!
And Willow and Oz are just lookingat him like, Oh, sucks to be you.
No,
(01:00:39):
Well, what else can they do?
They can't do anything.
Right?
his head.
I guess.
I'd do
At the library, we learnabout the legend of Olukai.
Uh, from the, from Kauai and, uh, and, andGiles makes the leap that this might be a
bastardization of Olvikan, another demon.
(01:01:02):
And of course Giles has a book,
Of course.
and then Xander says, Boy, it's agood thing nobody's ever wanted to
check out any of these books, huh?
Not wrong.
True.
Uh, they find the picture, and it's likea triple foldout to show how big he is.
It's a centerfold of the demon
Yeah.
of the demon.
(01:01:22):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Xander says we're goingto need a bigger boat.
Then we cut to the mayor eatingthe last of the spiders, you know,
spider legs out of his mouth.
little handkerchief bib,
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah he's got a demon there watching himand He's already he can feel the changes
already and he can feel his organs moving
(01:01:46):
ew.
Plus, you know, a lot of fiber, and
They're high in fiber.
an a immortal demon if you're not regular?
That's right.
He's so white.
He's so white.
Then the other lackey demon comes in andtells them there's trouble at Faith's.
Then the other.
So then we're, yeah, then we'restill fighting on the rooftop
(01:02:07):
and she gets Faith in the abdomen.
up, Faith, you know, crawlsor jumps over the ledge, lands
on a truck full of pallets.
drives off,
She would have died from that.
She would have died from that.
That
I would agree with
was high enough.
That was high enough.
She's already injured.
She's got internal injuries.
(01:02:27):
She's landing on wood.
It's not even like she, she doveinto a trash, you know, trash
bag filled something, truck.
Are you done?
Yeah, I'm done.
She's the Slayer.
Sigh.
All right.
All right.
(01:02:48):
To be continued.
So, picture it, Selden New
York
Sicilly.
May, 99.
Yes.
I, this, this is my season, we'vediscussed it before, like this is the
Yes.
I've watched
Yes.
I'm sitting there watching, I'm so excited
Yes.
have seen it.
Start part two.
an hour before part two was supposedto air, WB made the decision to pull it
(01:03:14):
because of some violent events that occur.
And it did not air until July.
Oh no!
Oh yes!
No,
did they do?
They just showed reruns?
Until July.
Oh man.
night that part two was supposed to air, they showed a rerun because they made
the decision an hour before to pull it
(01:03:36):
Yeah.
Wow, man.
So this is why I asked that wenot do parts one and two together,
because I want you to feel a
You want me to suffer like, like you did?
mean, it's only, it's only a few days
I don't think I'm gonna sufferlike you did, but, okay.
know, but I'm sure you, youwant to know what happens,
(01:03:56):
All right.
somewhat.
Okay.
Tell me you don't have adesire to know what happens.
Yeah.
Okay.
I wanna know what happened.
Sure.
Okay.
All right, thank you.
That's all I wanted.
Alright.
But yeah, and you know, andnow I'm thinking about it more.
It's not like the internetthat we have today.
(01:04:17):
Like, I probably was not, would not havebeen able to just like hop online and see.
Figure out
Oh, no.
No, no, no.
No.
So
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
July, two months.
What had happened?
I can't tell you it's,
can't tell me because you don't remember?
Or you can't tell me because you
(01:04:38):
no, no, no, no.
It's similar to earshot.
There are some violent
don't know?
Oh.
occur on the school grounds.
Oh.
Okay.
Alright.
Okay.
So yeah, that was, uh, that was rough.
Sorry you had to go through that, Sean.
It's okay.
There, there are worsethings that could happen.
(01:05:00):
You lived through it.
did, I
Um, what is your ratingfor this episode, Sean?
4.5
Wow!
Wow.
I, this is probably thefinale I watched the most.
Alright.
I'll give this one 3.
5.
Okay.
Favorite line.
(01:05:21):
Um, when Xander said, boy, it'sa good thing nobody's ever wanted
to check any of these books out.
That's good.
Mine was, I know I just mentionedit a few minutes ago, but come on
guys, the suspense is killing Angel.
Yeah, that's a good one.
Next graduation day part two.
yep.
What's going to happen ingraduation day part two.
I am going to be very optimistic here.
(01:05:43):
It's a long shot.
It's a really long shot.
But I'm going to be optimistic.
I still hold out hope that Faith isgoing to see the error of her ways.
And that she's not, she's not dead.
Of course she's not going to be dead yet.
Um,
I don't know.
You're pretty convincing.
I know she won't be dead to my annoyance.
Um, they will defeat the mayorbecause there's four more seasons.
(01:06:07):
So obviously they must defeat the mayor.
Um, but how?
Okay.
So here's what I think.
I think Faith is going to come backduring graduation to help the mayor,
but he's going to do somethingduring the ascension and or during
or when he turns into this demon.
And he's going to likebetray her or something.
And it's going to hit herreally hard because he's been
(01:06:27):
this father figure to her.
And so she's going to feelabandoned and totally betrayed.
And then she's going to figure out sheshould be helping, uh, the good guys.
And she's going to helpdefeat him, the mayor.
And then somehow they're going to figureout some loophole with that spell.
And she's going to let, uh, Angeldrink her blood or something.
(01:06:50):
They'll figure it out and heal him.
Um, what else?
Um, what about Buffy and Angel?
I think Angel's going to leave.
Is this when, this must be when Angelleaves and goes and starts his own,
his own show
Right.
(01:07:12):
Um, Cordelia.
Cordelia, Cordelia isgoing to be Cordelia.
She, uh, she's going to graduateand she's going to, you know, You
know, she's going to be smarmy.
Okay.
All right.
Uh, any other, uh, thoughts?
(01:07:33):
