Want to help with America's $36 trillion debt?
Americans, if they’re so inclined, can now donate to pay down the national debt via Venmo and PayPal.
Donors can go to Pay.gov and, under "Gifts to Reduce the Public Debt," choose between the more traditional bank account or credit/debit card options and the newer options to make a gift.
The national debt, which measures what the U.S. owes its creditors, rose to $36,721,531,033,603 Friday, according to the latest numbers published by the Treasury Department. That is up about $34.5 billion from the figure reported the previous day. Forty years ago, the national debt was $907 billion..
Director Bongino vows to reveal 'truth'
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino posted a lengthy message on his official X account in which he vowed to bring the American people "the truth" after saying that he had learned things that "shocked" him.
"During my tenure here as the Deputy Director of the FBI, I have repeatedly relayed to you that things are happening that might not be immediately visible, but they are happening," Bongino wrote. "What I have learned in the course of our properly predicated and necessary investigations into these aforementioned matters, has shocked me down to my core. We cannot run a Republic like this. I’ll never be the same after learning what I’ve learned."
Michigan Walmart stabbing
Police on Sunday identified the 42-year-old man accused of wounding 11 people in a random stabbing spree at a Walmart in Michigan.
Authorities identified the suspect as Bradford James Gille, of Afton, Michigan, on Sunday afternoon. Police are seeking to file terrorism charges and 11 charges of assault with intent to murder against Gille.
