A podcast making biblical truths plain and simple. This is a little ”sip” of what is to come.
So here is a faith exercise, for casting all your cares, worries & anxieties, so that you, we, can enter into His REST. Remember faith without works is dead in other words, listeners, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead
First, let me just clarify that rest does not mean sleep, inactivity or stillness. Biblically, the meaning for rest is to be inwardly quiet, composed, peaceful. Verse 10 tells us that even God ceased from his own works to rest. Verse 11 tells us to labor to enter that same rest. Now if God entered into the rest, what makes us think that we don’t need to enter into that same rest? Aren’t we God’s childr...
The principle of reaping and sowing applies to Christians & non-Christians. This principle is irrevocable and there is no escape. It is a law of life. Charles Stanley, a well known American Southern Baptist pastor and writer, says that there are 3 principles that are considered to be true in all circumstances when it comes to sowing and reaping.
So, what is your default mode?
Do you have a plan for when the extremely challenging times come?
When it feels like your world is upside down?
When all Hell has broken loose?
Do you turn to the substance or turn to the Spirit?
What’s in your defaulted heart?
You see, when we are dealing with menial tasks, or even the challenging ones, at times it may slip our minds that the Holy Spirit is with us, and is living in us.
1 Cor 6:19 TLB says Haven’t you yet learned that your body is the home of the Holy Spirit God gave you, and that he lives within you? Your own body does not belong to you.
At times we t...
The Holy Spirit reminded me that there is enough time in the day. In John 11:9-10 Liv says: There are twelve hours of daylight every day, and during every hour of it a man can walk safely and not stumble. 10 Only at night is there danger of a wrong step, because of the dark.” I believe God is saying that where He is, there is light and in darkness he is not there. So there are 12 hours of daylight to d...
Have you ever felt self-conscious in any way, in any situation, or around certain groups of people?
Think and be honest with yourself.
You see, by being self-conscious you have a heightened awareness of yourself, especially how others perceive your appearance or actions.
Additionally, Self-conscious people may be overly aware of, and sensitive to attention from others, and may feel anxious or embarrassed at times.
Do not take for granted the prayers that have been answered, the challenging situations that you came through, the healings that have taken place with you, the financial binds that he brought you threw, shoot even the waking up this morning and knowing you head from your tail…take a look at them all. Who is responsible? Our creator, our healer, our deliverer, our friend, our guide, my road dog. Now, why wouldn’t you want to get to...
To Christ, the truth is God who presents and reveals Himself to us, and our response in loving Him and obeying Him. Therefore, I would say, the truth is not the facts you learn as in a courtroom, but what you do in building your relationship with Christ.
Know the difference.
Self-examination time:
Who are you envious of? Who are you discontented with? Resentful towards? Jealous of?
Who are you angry with? Bitter towards? Have conflict with? Who gets on your last nerve?
This is a time of self-examination. Be transparent with God because he already knows; Our God is Omniscient.
So let me introduce you to oppression and his big brother the big OPP ( a.k.a. the opportunity to proceed passes you by!)
Now Oppression is trying to stop you from being all you can be! Oppression does not want you to be free. Oppression wants to keep you hostage. Oppression stops you from maximizing your potential; oppression wants to limit your destiny; Oppression crushes the human spirit and Nobody ...
To be called by God is to be chosen by God for certain purposes.
So, every person in the body of Christ has a calling, regardless of their screwed-up past, imperfections, insecurities, doubts, impaired social skills, physical disabilities or mental health issues.
Just as the head, neck, shoulder, arms, make up part of the human body & have a purpose, we collectively are the body of Christ. Each one of us is part of his body.
The Oxford dictionary defines worry as to give way to anxiety or unease; allow one's mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles. If you notice part of the definition defines worry as unease and statistics show too much unease can lead to dis ease or disease. Furthermore, we all know that worry is the opposite of faith. Increased worry can turn into Fear.
Fear is defined as an u...
We live in a fallen world, and many Christians who go through, forget that God has already won the battle for us. We spend too much time in our thoughts looking at what is taking place at the time, instead of looking forward to the finish line or victory that has already been won for us. Yes, you may have had to wait days, weeks, months, seasons, years, shoot, you may still be waiting; but know that God will flip the script if He...
The if then statements in the bible follows this similar pattern; the "if" part is advice from the Lord, and the "then" part is the promised results of following or disobeying that advice.
Sometimes we can become so entangled in our anxieties & stressors, that we forget or become so distracted that all we can think about is our wants, our needs. Which means we become that “self-centered, selfish, self-absorbed, and self- seeking” person that all people including Christians hate to be around.
What can we do about this? Listen to find out more!
This concerned gardener has gotten a lesson & a reminder that the way I tend to my flower planting, I need do the same with my concerns. The Holy Spirit knows that gardening is very dear to my heart and therapeutic, so he used that scenario to give me this lesson. He knows just what to do.
In Hebrews chapter 12, verse 1 the author likens this verse to a race. The NLT version reads as such: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
The Challenge
There is a correct way to analyze scripture and an incorrect way to analyze scripture. God puts structure on how to read the bible & how to correctly analyze it. So, to reiterate again, if you do not consider before the cross and after the cross, more than likely you will end up somewhere not seeing something correctly.
I invite you to listen for a few tips I use for ri...
OT/Old covenant/before the finished work; NT/New covenant/after the finished work. The blood that was shed not only dealt with sin, but also the sinner! In light of this, we need to study the bible as it pertains to the finished work, so that we can rightly divide the Word of Truth. What was so before the cross, changed when Jesus shed His blood on the cross.
