Concussions are serious business. Only in the past ten years has more awareness and public education started to see a better understanding on how it can impact stress, function, and even issues of capacity. This is a really good way for people to understand how to navigate some of the day-today life, medical and legal issues that face anyone dealing with mental incapacity. This week, CT and Dale sit down with Dr. Shailla Vaidya to discuss these critical issues. CT also discusses Living Wills and why this is so critical for everyone to consider planning this, and shares why she is so passionate about making sure everyone has a proper Will set up.

Dr. Shailla Vaidya, MD MPH C-IAYT is a Physician/Yoga Therapist practicing Mind-Body Medicine in Toronto, Ontario. She studied Medicine at Dalhousie University, did her residency in Family and Emergency Medicine at the University of Ottawa, and completed a Master’s in Public Health (Management and Policy) at Harvard University. She has also served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University and the University of Toronto. Dr. Vaidya grew up in a cultural tradition of Yoga and Ayurveda and has been bridging Eastern Wisdom with Western Medicine throughout her 20 years of medical practice. She is the creator of the Rest Reset Rise! Burnout Recovery Program, and the Reconnect Concussion Program, both of which combine the path of yoga with the science of human function for recovery and resilience. As a “Compassion-it” Change Agent, she is effecting change in the healthcare system by healing our healers and innovating healthcare delivery.
