(Transcribed by TurboScribe.ai. Go Unlimited to remove this message.) So, America, what will we do about this
dumpster fire?
How are we going to survive this mess?
Will we last another 100 days?
And what will this country look like?
Listen for some tips and perspective.
Hi, it's the Urban Lady Prepper.
I help single moms and solo women with
practical emergency preparedness.

(00:21):
But of course, all are welcome to be
prepared for whatever happens next.
When I began my blog and podcast, one
of the things that blew my mind was
the number of people, single moms and solo
women in particular, who were not prepared for
the most basic emergency.
They didn't have enough food to last a
couple of weeks, and they didn't have enough

(00:41):
water.
They didn't have a go bag in case
they had to leave in a hurry.
This is pretty basic stuff.
But sadly, I've come to realize that just
as people are cavalier about emergency preparedness, they're
just as cavalier about what's going on right
now.
And this made me realize how fucked we
are as a country.
The same folks who said that it didn't

(01:03):
matter who won and are not paying attention
are not going to know what hit them,
especially if they're women.
They can't fight back against what they didn't
bother to pay attention to.
The ignorance about the depth of what's happening
is appalling and disheartening.
And the same people who boasted about how
free we were, how everyone comes to America
to become successful, that we have certain rights

(01:25):
that can't be taken away, are fine with
watching that all disappear.
Tomorrow is May 5th, Cinco de Mayo.
Like St. Patrick's Day, where everyone is just
a little bit Irish, on Cinco de Mayo,
everyone's a little bit Mexican.
The idea of people who support Mexicans being
deported, putting on a sombrero, slapping on a

(01:48):
fake mustache, eating tacos while slamming Coronas is
awful.
Although I'm sure some crusty pustule of a
human being will find it hilarious.
In the U.S., there's nothing to celebrate
right now.
Anyway, tomorrow is considered by many to be
when the costs of things will start to
skyrocket.
You might want to go to the store

(02:08):
if you haven't got what you needed, like
now.
Those new taxes, I mean tariffs.
The stupid trade war that failed last time
is going to start hitting, and it's going
to hit hard this time.
If you have not begun prepping on at
least the most basic level, you're going to
be screwed.
And if you're thinking to yourself, why is
she mentioning it the day before?

(02:30):
You must be new here.
And if you aren't, you shouldn't be shaken
by it because you've been preparing all along,
right?
I provided a list back in December that
you needed to get certain items, but here
are the most crucial ones and a couple
of extra suggestions.
Get water.
Bottled water is one of the first things

(02:50):
to disappear in a panic.
Canned goods.
While we grow a lot of vegetables domestically,
a lot of the aluminum we use for
the cans we put them in will get
a lot more expensive, adding to the cost.
Stock up now.
Coffee.
And don't think you're beating the system by
getting French or Italian coffee because they get

(03:11):
their coffee from the same places.
They don't grow coffee either.
Even if they did, there would be tariffs
on those countries too.
Stockpile what you can now.
Cooking oil.
They've been increasing in price, and we do
import a lot of it.
These might get scarce, so you might want
to grab extra bottles now.

(03:32):
Chocolate.
Sugar.
Get as much as you can.
Flour and yeast.
Remember when flour was hard to find during
the pandemic?
That was because the supply chain issues kept
replenishments from coming.
Also, people started to bake more at home,
and yeast was tough to find too.
You do have to store flour carefully to
keep it fresh and bug-free.

(03:53):
You can freeze yeast to make it last
longer.
I believe that supply chain issues may become
an issue again, and as people try to
save money, they will go back to baking
and making bread again.
Tip.
If you need a place to store your
extra loose foods and grains like flour and
sugar, local food businesses such as your local

(04:16):
bakery or coffee shop may have food-safe
buckets available for free or just for a
few bucks.
Ask.
If you get some, be sure to clean
thoroughly, dry completely, put in oxygen absorbers, then
seal and store securely to keep air out
in a dark, cool place.
Clothing and shoes.

(04:37):
We import so much of this.
If the kids need new clothes or shoes,
don't wait.
Get them ASAP.
Rice.
We do grow a lot domestically, but rice
still disappears from the stores during a panic,
and the prices will continue to go up.
Pasta.
You can find pasta such as elbow macaroni
and soup noodles in small bags for around

(04:57):
50 cents.
If you're short on funds, grab a bunch
of those.
Produce will also increase in price, so if
there are some fruits and vegetables you can
freeze or buy frozen, now's the time to
get them.
Paper goods, like toilet paper and paper towels.
Just because you know it's made here, doesn't
mean everyone else does.

(05:18):
Remember the pandemic when you couldn't find any?
Freeze-dried or powdered versions of milk, eggs,
and butter.
These things are much better than remember if
you haven't had any lately.
Over-the-counter medications such as ibuprofen, aspirin,
Benadryl, and cold medicine.
Your medications.

(05:38):
If you're on a subscription, don't count on
it.
If it continues, the prices will increase.
Click my link in the description for Jace
Medical, which now provides daily common medications through
licensed physicians, and stock up.
You'll get 10% off, and have peace
of mind while saving money.
I further recommend that if you really need

(05:58):
a car, get one before the tariffs kick
in.
As I predicted, used car prices have skyrocketed
because new vehicles were too expensive, and once
the tariffs take effect, they will be completely
unaffordable.
If you're hanging onto your job with both
hands and depend on your car to get
to it, this is something to consider.

(06:20):
If you're going to say that you're fine
with what this administration is doing, I have
to assume that you're rich, completely healthy and
will never get sick, have already finished your
education, no longer can have children, your children
are grown, you believe you are self-sufficient
enough to survive whatever, and you were never
a veteran.
Or the truth is that you honestly didn't

(06:41):
care as long as you weren't affected.
It was all good as long as you
didn't feel any pain, and can sit back
and watch the others suffer.
But now we're all about to suffer, and
well, honey, you're all feeling it too.
Sadly, too many people are so willingly ignorant
of the rights and laws being rolled back,
the rule of law being ignored, and the

(07:03):
rights and privacy of citizens being violated.
How states' rights really was BS, and we're
becoming a police state fashioned after leaders we
went to war to defeat.
But I guess I shouldn't be shocked.
Too many Christians, if they even read the
Bible, tend to cherry pick what they like
out of it, disregarding the other things that
don't suit their lifestyle, and treat the Ten

(07:25):
Commandments as options.
So if they're going to treat the book
that supposedly dictates their lives, and use it
as an excuse to bully everyone else into
submission, I shouldn't be shocked that they're good
with the constitution being used for toilet paper
by a narcissistic felon with a daddy complex
and dictator dreams.
When martial law is enacted, and we're getting

(07:47):
there, and he ignores the Second Amendment, like
anything else that impedes his rise to kingship,
such as the Supreme Court, maybe that will
be the catalyst.
Maybe we need to get all the way
there before the wolf falls off.
Maybe there will be something left of this
country to salvage.
He may be losing in court with all
these crazy executive orders, but some of this

(08:08):
will stick, especially since now he's using scare
tactics like arresting federal judges, wanting to ship
Americans to foreign prison camps.
The blatant disregard is staggering, and if these
dominoes keep falling, we're going to be one
of those shithole countries he bragged we were
better than.
Racism, apathy, or ignorance of how things work

(08:30):
got us here.
If you're not one of the 1%, you
mean nothing to them either.
But you're not used to the pain that's
happening and what's to come.
The ones you wanted to watch you suffer
are.
Sit with that.
And when you stand up, stand up differently,
because time is not on your side either.

(08:51):
Wake up.
Thanks for listening.
Until next time, this is the Urban Lady
Prepper signing off.
