Samen met Jaap Korteweg besloot Niko dé oplossing voor vleesvervangers en vegetariërs te creëren: vlees zonder vlees. Door jarenlange toewijding, het aangaan van risico’s en aanzienlijke investeringen, slaagden zij erin om de grootste vleesvervanger van Nederland te worden.
In 2018 verkochten Niko en Jaap hun ‘kindje’ aan Unilever. Maar stilstaan is nooit een optie voor hen.
