In this week's episode of "What's Up, College Station?", Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Gene Ballew discusses the meaning of Parks and Recreation Month, the department's shifting focus, and why Veterans Park and Athletic Complex is his favorite. A Marine Corps veteran, Ballew was elevated to assistant director earlier this year after 17 years with the City.
The Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial at Veterans Park is commemorating its 25th anniversary on Thursday, July 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will include open house tours of the 12-acre memorial.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist
It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
