About Doc:
Doc started playing guitar at 10 with Jerry Bob Abbott’s help. He played and sang rock and country professionally for over 40 years with several well known Texas bands. Doc even opened for Billy Monroe, Earl Scruggs, the Osborn Bros, and several other blue grass groups. His country band won entertainers of the year at the Stephenville opera. Doc’s band also opened for Big Otis and others including Fog Hat with over 8000 in attendance in College Station. Educationally, Doc earned a bachelors and masters from Tarleton state. He then earned his doctorate at Texas A&M and worked in the A&M System Chancellors office for 8 years as the executive director for school university partnerships. Doc has always been an educator and some roles prior to his doctorate, he was an Ag teacher for 10 years, secondary principal for 10 years, certified school superintendent where he spent 24 years in public education, and 16 years as the national director for a national professional development company. As of 2024, Doc is enjoying the perks of retirement.
