A new French law bans smoking around public places like parks, beaches, schools and bus stops. It aims to protect children and adults from passive smoking, and is part of President Macron’s plan to create the first tobacco-free generation by 2032.
But in a country where smoking is seen as an inherent part of the culture, and one in three people smokes, that might be easier said than done.
