Your Inner Camino Podcast - a Self-Reflection podcast - for pilgrims, by pilgrims

Your Inner Camino Podcast A Self-Reflection Podcast for pilgrims, by pilgrims. It started from a simple idea. Many pilgrims return home carrying memories, questions, insights, and experiences from the Camino de Santiago. And then, slowly, everyday life takes over again. This podcast is a way to bring a little of the Camino home. In each episode, pilgrims share their own stories. Sometimes they talk about Camino Provides moments, unexpected encounters, personal challenges, deep insights, or things they left behind on the road. And sometimes they simply reflect on what the Camino meant to them. Over time, I noticed something else. When we listen to other people honestly reflecting on their own experiences, we often begin to reflect on our own lives as well. By listening to how other pilgrims Self-Reflect, our brains gradually learn how to Self-Reflect too. Human beings learn from other human beings. That is simply how we learn. Self-Reflection is NOT a talent; it is a SKILL. A skill that anyone can learn and develop. The better we become at Self-Reflection, the more clearly we begin to see ourselves. Our motives. Our choices. And the -wanted- and -unwanted- side-effects our actions have on ourselves and on the people around us. Through Self-Reflection we begin to observe ourselves from a little more distance. We start to see the Why we want to do something. We start to see the How we are trying to do it. And we start to notice the -wanted- and -unwanted- side-effects that our chosen way of doing it may have. Self-Reflection brings awareness. And awareness brings a moment of choice. A moment in which we may choose a different How. A How with fewer, or even no, unwanted side-effects. One of the many gifts of the Camino. Perhaps the world could use a little Camino... The podcast is hosted by Danny Vermeeren and is connected to the Inner Camino House in Viloria de Rioja. If the Camino continues inward for you, you are welcome here. AND you are invited to participate. Because a podcast -for pilgrims, by pilgrims- only works when pilgrims step over a hurdle and ACTIVELY participate by sharing their Camino story as well. You will find a "Share Your Story" button on the podcast page below. The rest will show itself. Go to the Inner Camino Podcast

In this conversation, Fr. Ben shares how the Camino opened space for silence, listening, unexpected encounters, and deep human connection. Not by rushing forward, but by slowing down enough to be present, to others, to God, and to what the Camino quietly brings.

A special song for Inner Camino House in Viloria de Rioja, inspired by the feeling of the Camino and the Inner Camino.

Lyrcis [Verse 1]

Dust on my shoes Salt on my skin Maps in my pocket Stories tucked in Found your small door Paint cracked by the sun You smiled and you said "Here The walking is done"

[Chorus]

Inner Camino House Where the road sighs out Hang your pack Let your shoulders drop Let the day pour out A plate A chair A l...

In this episode, I share how my Camino continued after arriving in Santiago, in a way I did not expect.

A clear plan fell apart, fear appeared, and I was confronted again with letting go and trust.

This is a reflection on what happens when the outer path collapses, and the Inner Camino becomes very active.

A story about plans that dissolve, control that fails, and the quiet work of self-reflection that follows.

This is Episode 1 of the Your Inner Camino Podcast.

In this short introduction, I share the intention behind the podcast and how it grew out of walking the Camino de Santiago.

Not as an explanation or a lesson, but as a quiet reflection.

The podcast is meant to support pilgrims and seekers in listening to their own Inner Camino, on the road and long after the walking ends.
