اغلب چین‌پژوهان مکاتب فلسفی کاملاً چینی را در سه مکتب کنفوسیوس‌گرایی، دائوئیسم و مکتب قانون خلاصه کرده‌اند. این قسمت به شرح مختصر مکتب قانون و آرای چند فیلسوف این اندیشه اختصاص دارد. مکتب قانون، فلسفه اقتدارگرایی در تاریخ اندیشه چین است و اولین امپراتوری متحد چین با اتکا بر همین اندیشه خلق شده است، هر چند مثل هر اقتدارگرایی دیگری، نفرت به جا گذاشت.
