Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, guys.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Injuries we had from the game.

Speaker 3 (00:03):
Ronaldo Green had a toe didn't return, and Brindle pulled
his hamstring didn't return.

Speaker 4 (00:08):
Go ahead.

Speaker 5 (00:09):
It was a great win. Great win.

Speaker 6 (00:10):
I gets a really good team that had won three
out of four coming in. What are you most pleased
with with tonight's victory and what did you say.

Speaker 5 (00:16):
To the guys?

Speaker 3 (00:18):
I was pleased just how much of a team effort
it was. We thought we had to play win that
game a certain way. I mean even last night talking
about how we need We felt we needed to run
the ball.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Definitely.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
I challenged the team saying I'd like to get forty
runs called, but that's not just an offensive thing. In
order to do that, you got to play defense like
we did tonight. You got to play special teams like
we did tonight, and to be able to them allow
us to pull that off.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
It was huge.

Speaker 7 (00:43):
Brice Hook and Chase Lucas both had a history of
kind of like where they were not the guy anymore
one on the practice for one not really playing for
his former team. They come here and they've been making
place today. Both of them make it a huge place.
What can you say about those two thousand of defense.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Yeah, they made a bunch of big plays to day.
I mean, the strips was huge, Chase stopping him on
that fourth down. You know he wanted that pick six,
but it was a hell of a job just being ready.
I'm losing stout late in the week being ready for
his op and then Huff's been doing it all year
and chased it all off season and got his op today.

Speaker 8 (01:15):
I ask you a a version of this just about
every week. But what can you say about what Christian
has just meant to this?

Speaker 2 (01:21):
He's huge.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
I mean he's you know, he's the most consistent player
I've been around. I mean, he just allows you to
stay on track. He gets every yard in the run
game and more, and what he does in the past
game just it's ray you're gonna throw the ball to
him and not get a completion.

Speaker 9 (01:34):
M the assumption maybe Proty and Parasol back next week.
What kind of achievement do you feel like you've gotten
basically with a ton of guys, maybe get those buys
a b as we need to go five and do
to get through these games.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
I mean, just I've been proud of all the guys,
just overcoming a lot of stuff I mean offense, you know,
just what we went through that stretch without Kittles. Nice
to get him back today. Just the White House being
banged up all year. I mean, this was the first
week this year that JJ's been out of practice, and
I know those guys are all just battling to get
out there. And how Max stepped it up with Brock
being out, the amount of defensive guys, Dave stepped it up.

(02:10):
We all know, all the eyes were on Tatum and
how well he played, and he went out for the
series early in the game and I was able to
come back in and play unbelievable. Luter stepping it up
today with Ronardo going out, We talked about Chase.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
It was awesome getting Kevin back to on the D line.
That helped today.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
But just real proud of our whole roster and all
the guys that have stepped up throughout this year so far.

Speaker 10 (02:33):
There was a lot of faith expressed in in Tatum
during the week that seemed like it was more than
just wishful thinking, Like everybody was very confident that he
would go out and do the job.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
What about him jumped out of you and what you expected.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yeah, I mean I got to watch in detail once
I see the tape. But I mean, Tatum is a
real good linebacker. We've really we were excited to get
him out of college. We were excited having him all
last year when he made the team, and we've been
excited about this offseason.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
So you never know when in your op's gonna come.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
And unfortunately his team with a bad injury to Fred,
But he's been ready for this moment for a while
and I mean no one doubtedate him at all.

Speaker 11 (03:09):
It mean for you guys to have Fred here tonight.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
I mean I love having Fred here. I saw him
on the scoreboard up there. It's cool that they got
a big cheer from the crowd. You know, he had
a big surgery this week, and we saw him on
Saturday when he got back in the building.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
But awesome have Fred around.

Speaker 9 (03:28):
When you're thinking forty runs, is it like only thirty
nine to Christian in your mind or early? I mean,
it does seem like he is the guy to go to.
Is that something you think going into it or it
just develops as the game?

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Is you mean going to him on those.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
Him rowing him?

Speaker 2 (03:43):
I'm just saying like no, I mean.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
We just and that was the first time we looked
at a game that way this year. Prior to the game,
we just felt just based off how their team was
and stuff, that was just a goal of ours that
we thought it would give us the best chance to win.
But that's you just you just can't just run forty
runs though less everything's going right, you know, as a
whole team. Definitely didn't think when I said it last

(04:05):
night that all forty we're going to go to Christian.
But he is our starting back and he doesn't come
out that much, so we knew the majority.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Of it would.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
But I thought Brian had a few big runs today.
There's a couple I thought we were gonna lose yards
on a few guys unblocked in the backfield and ended
up getting positive gains on it. And I thought Mac
made a couple of plays scrambling too.

Speaker 10 (04:22):
How much of a team thing is it to be
able to hold beach On Robinson down to what you did?

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Huge team thing. I mean, he's as good as there is.
Everyone knows that you need eleven guys swarm into the ball.
That guy gets too much space. I mean it's just
hard to touch him. I thought we limited the space
he got you try to limit his opportunities by doing
good on third down, get him off the field, and
you try to limit how much they can do with
it by keeping the ball away from him.

Speaker 8 (04:46):
I think of the run blocking night, it seem like
mccafrey wasn't getting in the back nearly as much.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
It's run blocking seemed real good and for us around
the ball that well must have been pretty good.

Speaker 8 (04:55):
Sense Kittles impact in that regard, both as a blocker
and maybe the.

Speaker 11 (04:59):
Intention that he draws.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yeah, I think it always helps having Kittle back. Kittle's
as good as a blocker as there is.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
You know, other guys have been doing good too, though,
so not to take anything away from them in terms
of the run game and stuff. Kittle would have liked
to get him some more passes tonight. But it was
awesome having Georgia back.

Speaker 11 (05:15):
Thirteenth throw McCaffrey. What was a call there?

Speaker 3 (05:17):
What you just saw on that play just something that
you know we had on our call sheet for a
third and long situation. I felt like that was the
first one we were in in the game and he
actually tried to come out on the play, which we
never He came out a number of times in the game.
We never sent him back once and except for that play,
I looked at him and so go back as long
as as long as you're not hurt, and he knew

(05:38):
the deal, and he went back and it was a
hell of a play.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Hell with throw.

Speaker 12 (05:42):
Rendell's been in iron Man for this team. I think
the number was fifty eight straight starts. How do you
think the guys adjusted up front?

Speaker 3 (05:50):
I mean, I'll again, I'll know better when I watch
the tape. But I thought Hennessy had a real good
offseason with US. Really enjoyed him throughout OTAs and training camp,
and you know, I felt I didn't I didn't notice
anything go bad when when Brenda went out, So Hennessy
must have been ready for the opportunity, went in that
in there and allowed the offense to keep going, made
the right calls. I'm sure he blocked well because of

(06:11):
the results that we had. So sucks as in Jake,
he's been a stud for us.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
I got a lot of respect for Jake and how
much he's helped us. And it's just a hamstring, so
I know we'll be back soon, but it always does
take some time. But it's nice to have Hennessy step
it up and play well too.

Speaker 11 (06:26):
How fortant was.

Speaker 9 (06:27):
Them not getting able to get the field goal attempt
at the end of the first half, And were you
aware that when the ball went up there might be
a chance it was a ten second runoff? It was
if the penalty was called.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Yeah, right, when we knew that they got it.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
As long as they caught it called it, we knew
there's gonna be ten second runoff.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
So we were pumped.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
I was shoot.

Speaker 6 (06:45):
Ouxcider that Jones seems like his baseline for play is
pretty high and that he plays pretty efficiently every week.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
Yeah, Max a real good quarterback.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
You know, we've thought that before he got here, and
we thought that since the day you got here.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
He's been great in the.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
Off season, great this year in training camp.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
And you guys have seen how good he's been in
these games. So I feel very fortunate to have Mac.

Speaker 12 (07:08):
Mentioned on the NBC broadcast that Kobe carried mccaffreines. Then,
so I do this, that's against the rules. What did
you see on that?

Speaker 3 (07:18):
I saw a pile and I saw the pile moving
across the goal line, So I was happy.

Speaker 11 (07:26):
Kylie really clings on how much of Bernardo Ti Bernardo
like this.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
I'm not sure. Yeah, we and it's a toe, so
we'll see.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
Not sure?

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Possibly?

Speaker 4 (07:39):
All right? Thanks guys?

Speaker 10 (07:44):
Kay, have you told us during the week in the
group around your locker that how confident you were? You
seemed so confident and you seem so ready for this.
Just what did you do time? What you expected to do?

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Of course?

Speaker 13 (08:00):
Yeah, I've I've been playing a big games since a
little kid, man, and the only thing I thought about
was just having Fred back and just make sure I
played to the standard.

Speaker 10 (08:09):
Man.

Speaker 13 (08:09):
That was my my biggest thought going into this whole
week and my preparation. I just I ain't want to
let my brothers down and be the reason why something
a big play happened, like like last week against Tempa.
So I feel like my preparation and the whole defense
preparation going into this week, we were all locked in.
I even went to most off the house sometimes and

(08:30):
we just watched film and I'm texting him about play
calls and route concepts. You know, it's all new to
me sometimes, you know. But yeah, I'm just happy the
way we played, and all I can think about now
is just ways we could get better.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
You know, we didn't play a perfect game yet.

Speaker 7 (08:46):
So yeah, coming in after obviously you played in place
of Bread last game, but this was like the first
full game where it's you in place of Bread and
just wondering, like now that they go, well, you play
so well, your coaches players all saying that you played
so well, did they kind of settle you into this
role going for the rest of this season?

Speaker 13 (09:06):
Uh? I just say, yeah, I would settled me, But
like I kind of feel like that's me being comfortable
and I'm not comfortable at all. I I just wanna
be Tatum with thrown and Fred done done so much
on his defense and made so many plays and and
I I wanna do the same thing. I don't wanna
be Fred, but I also wanna make plays the same

(09:28):
way he does and and it's aspiring. You know, you
don't see a the linebackers do that around the league.
And he's one of a con too, And I'm just excited.
Did be able to learn from him for a year
and a half and now it was my chance to
learn and be able to make those type of players too.

Speaker 10 (09:44):
So when you left the game and was it w
W was there a moment where old now something or
did you know you were fine?

Speaker 4 (09:51):
You said when I left the game. Yeah, I was fine. Man.

Speaker 13 (09:53):
It was just a lot of stuff going on, but
I was good.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (09:57):
A lot of people before were take no front Warner,
no nick Fosa, this defense is going to take a
step back.

Speaker 11 (10:02):
I'm sure you try to ignore it, but hear that.
What did you guys take that as motivation?

Speaker 8 (10:06):
Was there any extra juice of like, hey, we're gon
sure we can still play?

Speaker 1 (10:09):
No?

Speaker 13 (10:09):
We You know me personally, I saw all of it.
I saw all of it, and as a defense, we
didn't talk about it, but I felt a certain way
about it. You know, I was emotional before the game.
I even cried before the game because I'm thanking God
for this opportunity. You know, it's unfortunate Fred got hurt,
but it's also opportunity for me to be able to expand,

(10:31):
to get better while I can before he gets back.
And yeah, I was just decided for this game.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
I'm happy the way we played and we.

Speaker 6 (10:38):
Had a great game. How much Johnny Hollins, veteran linebacker coach.
You know, with the mental reps this week, get you
prepared for today, you.

Speaker 13 (10:46):
Know, Johnny, he came to me, he said, you don't
have to be nobody else but Tatum with Thom like,
we drafted you for a reason due to stuff that
we saw that you did in college. And I felt
like that's what I did, and I felt like I
could be better than a lot of communication stuff on
the defense, but that that all comes with time, you know.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
So yeah, and.

Speaker 14 (11:08):
You said you wanted to make sure that you played
to the standard.

Speaker 5 (11:11):
What is the standard that.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
Violent football running hit? You know?

Speaker 13 (11:17):
You know when forty nine ers play, and especially games
like this Sunday night football, we show out and I
just wanted to make sure we had that same energy
Fred brings to the defense. And yeah, I guess we
showed it tonight.

Speaker 11 (11:31):
You expect to be doing so much flitting tonight?

Speaker 13 (11:34):
Oh yeah, we we We practiced all week, so yeah
we He he told us what what downs, where he
wanted to call it, and what he was thinking. And
my only thing I thought was just go yeah. So
I I knew we I had a chance to be
able to get a sack. They took it away from me.
But that really hurt my heart. Man, That's all I
wanted was a sack. I don't care about tackles. But yeah, yeah,

(11:57):
we knew we was gonna go get after him and
put some pressure on him.

Speaker 11 (12:01):
That the bread Warner throwback that did you get that
from him? Or did you did you get that?

Speaker 12 (12:06):
Man?

Speaker 13 (12:06):
No, we actually shout out to d winners. He before
the like two days before he told me he got
a shirt for me. He wore the fifty four jersey
and it was a great idea for me to wear
forty eight jersey his rookie year. And I feel like
the rest of this season, man, I'm just thinking about
Fred and and then all this, everything we do is
for him.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Man.

Speaker 13 (12:26):
He done a lot for us. He put his body
on the line for us, and we just want to
show him that it didn't it didn't go un noticing.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
We learned from it and we're gonna feed off of it.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
He got there.

Speaker 7 (12:36):
Yeah, did you here before playing in either of these games?

Speaker 11 (12:41):
He say anything?

Speaker 13 (12:42):
But maybe I think I mean two days it was like,
what day that was before I walked through On Saturday,
he showed up in the meeting room. It's surprised us.
You know, when guys get surgery, they don't show up
for a while, and he showed up. He watched film
with us, us and he didn't give any pointers, but
he allowed us to learn and he just showed us

(13:04):
that he's still here and for somebody to do that. Man,
he showed you really care and it is not always
about him.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Fred is like a big brother to us. So yeah,
all right, you guys.

Speaker 6 (13:19):
If you wondered do your day rushing receiver, you're doing
it all today.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
Talk just a little bit about your performance. What do
you think of it?

Speaker 1 (13:27):
Yeah? I think you know, he's super happy. We got
to win a lot of credit to the guys up front.
You know, tight ends, receivers blocking everybody blocking open up
some big lanes in the run game and defense that
the hell of a job keeping us in the game
at some tough times. And so big team win, man,
character win. Proud of our guys.

Speaker 5 (13:48):
Thirteen players.

Speaker 15 (13:50):
Voice your perspective online And Kyle was saying that you
were about to come off the field and you can send.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
You back on for every Yeah I was about to
come on, yeah, yeah, to answer those but because you
just answered it. But yeah, I was about to come
off the field and then came back in called that
Mack through a great ball perfectly on time. You know
it was a big play. So yeah, I figured, yeah,
I figured I figured it was something, But now yeah

(14:16):
it was. It was a great call in a great time,
you know, based on the defense that they've been playing
in the red zone and then Mac through it perfectly
on time. And we'd repped that couple times in practice
this week, So guys held up Mac through a great ball.

Speaker 8 (14:28):
Sure you'll be able to see more when when you
watch the tape, but could you feel George's presence just
in terms of the way the Falcons were moving around
or defending you guys.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Yeah, it's a different ball game when he's in there.
You know, even when he doesn't have a big statistical game,
the attention that he draws is it opens so much up,
you know. I mean that that's why you know, football
is the biggest team game on the planet. It always
has been, it always will be. Uh. When you got
guys like that on the field, just their presence alone
strikes a lot of fear and coordinators, you know, and

(14:58):
so you have to keep eyes on them. And you know,
some games it might be me that has these open
lanes and has you know, a good statued line whatever,
and then other times it'll be him or whoever else is,
you know, coming to the table. So that's why it's
a team game. And having him out there's a big
deal today.

Speaker 7 (15:14):
Playing tonight, you've made history tonight when it comes to
perceptions and of course rushing yards. And that being said,
if George Kittle was that out there, I mean he's
the run game has suffered with him not being out there.
So how much knowing that him bag helped your game?
How much does that mean to the team. But then
also you lose a guy like great and get a
guy like George back, just how much.

Speaker 11 (15:35):
Have they really played into this win?

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Yeah, I think l having George out there is awesome,
you know, I mean he like I said, he he uh,
he's so good in the run game in the past game,
and I think his versatility is what allows uh causes
a lot of problems. But also I mean we had
guys go down in the old line too and step
up big. You know, we had guys like uh, you know,
I don't know how many how many rotations we had today,

(15:56):
but uh, just everybody who came in and stepped up.
That's such a great you know, Kyle always says it
takes a whole team to be able to run the ball.
You know, it takes receivers, it takes tight ends obviously,
it takes o line, takes guys like Juice, takes a
quarterback being able to stay on the field and third down,
and then it takes a defense stepping up so that
you have opportunities to run you're not super behind. So

(16:20):
I've never heard a coach say that, but that makes
so much sense to me. You know, having it to
be able to run the ball is a huge team effort,
and our guys allowed that to happen today.

Speaker 11 (16:30):
By contact with Connor Colby on the touchdown or did.

Speaker 16 (16:33):
You just s.

Speaker 11 (16:35):
As you were running?

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Yeah, he did. Was That's that's just a huge strain play,
you know for a guy like that who's in there
busting his ass man and that's Those are the kind
of plays that are just character plays, and you know
that are fun to be a part of. So appreciative
of him for getting me in again.

Speaker 9 (16:52):
Obviously you want all your stars in there, but is
there some sense of Brian that you've been able to
do this. Obviously that guys out, You've got guys out
for the year, huge players, but to get to this
record with all these injuries, is there a.

Speaker 5 (17:06):
Sense of prices within that room? Wildly out loud like.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
That, Yeah, I think, you know, it's a testament to
the leadership, you know. I think you know, you guy
like fred Or Bosa comes out and you got young
guys and guys who haven't been in that position step
up the way they have. Uh, it's coaching, it's leadership,
and that that's not doesn't happen everywhere. I can promise
you that. And so, uh, it's fun. It's a fun
group to be a part of in that knowing that

(17:30):
you know every week is going to be a fight,
you know, and guys are going to have to step
up and do their job and get it done. And
today was a good example of that. And I know,
I know we're still hungry. Man. We haven't played perfect yet,
and I think so far we've done a good job
coming back from losses. And I think the challenge this
week will be coming back from a big win like
this and maintaining that focus, maintaining that intent and continuing

(17:53):
to get better.

Speaker 10 (17:56):
Expressed in Tatum with food all during the week, and
it didn't seem like whistling in the graveyard and work
calls optimism. It seemed like everybody's pretty convinced he was
going to do what he did tonight for observations about
him during.

Speaker 5 (18:10):
The week and waste it.

Speaker 16 (18:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
I mean when when you when you sat behind one
of the best linebackers to ever play, you get to
see how he practices, how he prepares, how he studies tape.
And that's such a huge deal for a young guy
to come in and what a gift to have that
because you never know when your opportunity is gonna come.
And I think the thing that I've realized just going

(18:33):
against guys like Tatum and guys like d is uh
they run and hit, you know, and and and that's
something that's preached throughout the entire defense. But they fly around, man,
They're physical as ever, and they love football and their
mindset's there. So you know, when when he got the nod,
obviously and unfortunately Fred went down, we had all the
confidence in the world in them. Appreciate you guys.

Speaker 17 (18:59):
Howdy hello everybody.

Speaker 11 (19:04):
What did you tell Colby after the game too?

Speaker 15 (19:07):
I said, it does a great job and we're gonna get
just a little bit better every single day, and that
I expect to see him at our body maintenance on
Mondays and Tuesdays because he does not know how to
take care of his body yet as a professional athlete, well,
he knew.

Speaker 11 (19:21):
How to take care of Christian McCaffrey's bobby on a
second touchdown.

Speaker 17 (19:24):
He did pulled him in there, didn't he It's fantastic.
That's a good Iowa guy. I just love it, pulled
him in.

Speaker 9 (19:31):
Kyle said, for the first time as year, he told
the team before wanted forty runs.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
I thought that was necessary. I would like to get there.
What does it tell you when you know he's done
that before?

Speaker 9 (19:41):
Obviously yes, But what does it tell you when he
tells you guys that?

Speaker 15 (19:46):
It really excites me because when I feel like when
our run game is going and we're rushing the ball
for more than thirty times, you get close to forty,
that means you're owning the time of possession. I mean
that you're not letting their explosive players on the other
side of the ball get the ball. Know, if we
can do our best job to not let number seven,
who's a fantastic football player, you know, get a ton
of touches, that's good football for us, and so when

(20:09):
we just kind of it kind of gives you that
mindset that we're gonna hit people in the face as
hard as you possibly can and give CHRISTI, McCaffrey and
Robinson as many as many carries as we can give
them and just run through a person's face.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Is the plight way.

Speaker 15 (20:23):
I'd say that it's good mindset to go into an
NFL game.

Speaker 8 (20:26):
We're seeing Christian both, you know, up close, playing with
him and then seeing what observing him while you were out.

Speaker 11 (20:32):
What can you say about the kind of season he's
having right now?

Speaker 15 (20:35):
I mean, he's what top ten and receiving yards, top
five and targets, and he's gonna We're gonna get him
up at the top of the leaderboards for rushing. I
will say that that is my goal. Actually, so every
Saturday night, our tight end room coach, Flurry started doing
this when he became our tight ends coach. He wants
all the tight ends. I get up in front of

(20:56):
the room and set a goal. So I mean anywhere
from dominant the edges I didn't touchdown, you know, whatever goals.

Speaker 17 (21:02):
And my goal this week was CMC NFC Player of
the Week.

Speaker 15 (21:06):
And if I actually called that that might be the
best guess of all time, but I think two hundred
yards and two touchdowns has a shot for it. But
that was my goal going to this game because Atlanta
has a really good defense. You know, I've gotten in
trouble for saying on paper they're really really good. I
got in trouble for that a couple of years ago
with the Eagles, But on paper they're Hey, there are

(21:27):
all these stats. Everyone's really excited about them, but the
end the day, you still got out there and play
football regardless.

Speaker 17 (21:32):
And they have a very athletic, explosive.

Speaker 15 (21:34):
Defensive line, but none of them are you're not playing Vitavea,
You're not playing a three hundred pound guy. You know,
they're light and explosive, and so we just rant as
much gap skin as we possibly could and just got
them to move. And because of that, when you have
Christ McCaffrey getting past the linebackers, I mean he's going
to average a lot.

Speaker 14 (21:52):
Say about this team's culture that so many guys have
gone down, have been injured, and yet they're off to
a five and two record, and these young players today
on defense have just been able to step in and
meet the moment.

Speaker 15 (22:05):
I mean, the defense was so much fun to watch
today because they were just flying around. I mean, the
one play it stood out to me was when Malick
came downhill and hit twenty five so hard in the
ribs that I think it took him out of the game.
Those aren't fun hits to take. It's the reason I'm
really happy I don't play running back. But I just
think the the standard that we've set as a fort
Niners organization, from Fred Warner to Nick Bosa. I mean,

(22:27):
you go back to tales A nineteen with the Forrest Buckner,
Eric Armstead, Kawan Williams, like the guys Richard Sherman, the
guys that we had set the standard of how you
play defense here, because if you don't play defense like that,
you get you kind of stand out like a sore thumb.
And I just love that the young guys have seen,
you know, hey, this is how Nick plays, this is
how Fred plays.

Speaker 17 (22:46):
You know, this is how we're supposed to play.

Speaker 15 (22:48):
And so you can just carry that and you can
learn from that if you can just play at that
same level and you can't replace Fred Warner, you can't.
You can't replace Nick Bosa. Those are Fred's best linebacker
in the NFL. I'll argue, you know with a wall
that Nick Bosa's top two, not too This is what
he does in the run game in the past game.

Speaker 17 (23:05):
So it's hard to replace guys like that. But if
you can just go out.

Speaker 15 (23:08):
There the same energy and the same effort and fly
around and hit the person in the face, then you
can have a good defense.

Speaker 7 (23:15):
Yes, ma'am, tell me on Thursday, you've been itching to
get back out there and play some football.

Speaker 11 (23:20):
You got out there today, how it feel to play?

Speaker 7 (23:22):
And maybe not a crazy step by, but then you
unlocked the run game pretty much more than it's been
all season long. So how rewarding is this win?

Speaker 15 (23:31):
I had so much fun playing football. It's Sunday night
football in Levice Stadium. So I basically told the team.
I was like, if you don't have fun tonight, then
you don't have a pulse and you shouldn't be in
this locker room. And I've definitely felt the pulse tonight
from the entire team and just felt the juice the
entire way, you know, offense, defense, special teams.

Speaker 17 (23:48):
I felt it. I mean, how fun is Eddie? Goodness? Gracious,
just how fun is he?

Speaker 15 (23:52):
I absolutely love that guy, great locker guy. But yeah, no,
I you know, I would love to catch the football
one a while. Hey, when it happens, it happens. When
it doesn't, it is what it is. But when you
can run the ball thirty seven plus times, it's a
fantastic night. And I think we were moving the heck
out of them. We were physical, and we played forty
hours football to night.

Speaker 11 (24:13):
The game plan, did you have a feeling you weren't
going to get the ball very much to either?

Speaker 15 (24:16):
You know, personally, I thought with the game plan, based
on the walk through Yesterra, I thought I was gonna
one hunred and fifty yards two touchdowns. So sorry, fantasy
coaches and anybody that bet on me.

Speaker 4 (24:26):
My bad.

Speaker 15 (24:26):
Blame Kyle Shanahan, not me. Uh you know, I think
the thoughts just did a really good job. You know,
we called a bunch of the plays. We call the
plays that we thought I was going to be open
on and next thing I know, there's two to three
people standing in the window. So and then Mac did
a great job of not you know, forcing anything, and
then just hey let's get it to a checkdown. Let's
get it to another guy that's open and just keep
the ball moving. Yeah, like I said, I would love
to get the football. I love catching the ball, I

(24:49):
love hitting people, and I love running in the open space.
But like I said, if other guys are taking advantage
of the opportunity and they're winning their one on ones,
I'll take it. I mean, I want to win, and
I want to just keep winning because that's way more
fun than having one hundred yards and losing. You've already
asked me a question he hasn't asked yet. I'm nice here, Okay.

Speaker 6 (25:09):
Every year and you've been on the team for a
number of years, it seems like this team has maybe
a higher level of grit.

Speaker 5 (25:17):
What do you think?

Speaker 1 (25:17):
I mean?

Speaker 5 (25:18):
Is this a gritty bunch to you?

Speaker 17 (25:20):
You know what?

Speaker 4 (25:20):
I think?

Speaker 12 (25:21):
One?

Speaker 15 (25:22):
Mac Jones is a fantastic quarterback. The way that he
stepped up for when Brock has not been in and
led this team to a bunch of victories is incredible.
He gets hit a ton of times and he stands
right back up and delivers the next pass. The way
he is in and out of the huddle, So that
is one reason I think for our success is him.
And then I say the other one is I've said

(25:43):
this since OTAs Robert Sawa is the best ree agent
signing that we possibly got. The juice he brings every
single day, how smart he is, the way that he
game plans, how he sets guys up for success, puts
guys in positions to succeed, how he calls the blitzes
on the right time. Like he's just such a good,
good coach. And I'm so happy that we got him
back this year because he is a fire for our
defense and he will be a fire for us. So

(26:05):
those are my two things. I think that is a
reason why the team is good. And then yeah, we're gritty.
You know, anytime Christian McCaffrey touches the football, you have
a chance for a seven year I'd play. And I
know we haven't had a lot of we haven't had
a lot of those this year, but like teams have
to prepare for that, and teams are you know, you
got to kind of be scared of Christian McCaffrey. And
so I think, you know what, he had two hundredards
see touchdowns. Hey there's Chrisian mccaff You're gonna get a

(26:25):
lot more that this year.

Speaker 17 (26:28):
Last one this better be good.

Speaker 9 (26:30):
It's been building up places. Freend in all the speeches today,
how many speeches did you get, because get.

Speaker 5 (26:38):
Like three or four game?

Speaker 17 (26:39):
I think, how do you know? Are you in the locker?
He told you he is the Aura Farming King?

Speaker 4 (26:45):
I will say that.

Speaker 15 (26:46):
How about Fred Warner being shown on the on the
scoreboard and we almost had to go on a silent
count because we couldn't hear a play call. How selfish
of Fred Warner? Goodness gracious, No, I'm gonna give one
speech today. It was fantastic. I'm gonna do that up.
I don't want to give the speech every single time.
We have a lot of leaders on this team. We
have a lot of voices on this team. And you know,

(27:06):
I'll speak when I need to, But we have a
lot of voices on this team that need to be
heard and that will inspire people and so and also
like I mean, if you need an inspiration to play
football and sundayight football in the new Vice Stadium, I
don't really need you on my team. And I didn't.
I didn't see that today. I saw all the guys
inspired to go out there and hit a person in
the face, one.

Speaker 5 (27:25):
Knowing he's not there, that big one that when a
team do.

Speaker 15 (27:28):
Not even think about it until Verne brought it up
on Thursday, and then next thing I know, I'm thinking
about on a Friday night at two am, I'm like,
what am I gonna say? And then everything went out
the window. I did so whatever I wanted to say,
I'm when it showed up. So it was pretty easy.
Thanks guys, you were just just talked you up there
pretty good right before you came out.

Speaker 5 (27:50):
Give us your thoughts on this win tonight.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
It was good.

Speaker 16 (27:54):
It was a good team win, and I thought the
defense played really well, the offensive line did great, ran
the ball well. George had a great impact in the
run game. Obviously, want to get him some more footballs here,
but we'll get that going. And just glad to have
George back out there and all those guys. And I
thought it was just a good, good old old fashioned
wine presence on the field too. In the huddle he's

(28:19):
just funny and keeps it loose, and then obviously in
the run game he's very powerful blocker. And then in
coverage tonight he had pulled a lot of defenders. They
had two to three guys on him.

Speaker 4 (28:29):
And stuff.

Speaker 16 (28:30):
So it's obviously tough when you're the Apex guy. But
I really love playing with them tonight, and we're going
to just continue to build our chemistry and it's just
the first time together out there.

Speaker 11 (28:40):
Challenging is it to switch centers early in the game.

Speaker 16 (28:45):
It's not challenging really. I mean, honestly, I have a
lot of trust in Madden because we had gotten a
lot of reps. Would be one thing if you maybe
hadn't had a lot of reps with somebody. But it
was funny we were talking this week about I was like,
it's your revenge week this week because he was in Atlanta.
And then sure enough he's like on like whatever. Early
in the game. He was like, all right, here we go,
and I was like revenge week. And but he did awesome.

(29:07):
He was cool as a cucumber and just went out
there and did his job.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
Tonight.

Speaker 16 (29:13):
What you said, I'll just describe it was good. He
definitely owes me some money. He fell down on those
passes that like the two yard line, so he wanted
to run him in. But now he did a great job.
He's an awesome, awesome competitor, just does his job on
every play and that's what you want. And b Rob
did good to tonight. I thought the one two punch

(29:33):
was good, and obviously the offense line did great. You know,
having Jake go out's gotta be tough right early, and they
just found found the holes and they just did a
great job. I was proud of it, proud.

Speaker 11 (29:44):
Of him moving really wonderfully.

Speaker 16 (29:49):
Thank you.

Speaker 11 (29:52):
Yeah, like, did you feel like physically a little better?

Speaker 1 (29:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 16 (29:57):
Yeah, yeah, no, I definitely I got your question and
you were wrong, So I hope we can still be friends.
But but yeah, I definitely definitely felt better. I still
feel like there's some limitations, but to be honest, but
I'm working through it. And you know, I felt a
lot better this week, and just being able to practice
meant a lot to my confidence and all that stuff.

(30:18):
And that's when you can work on things too and
get back and shape and all that. So I just
hadn't practiced a lot prior to this week, so I'm
glad to be back out there.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
Review of Christian mccaffy getting kind of pulled into the
ends out by Connor.

Speaker 16 (30:31):
Oh yeah, that was awesome. Yeah, I know, the first
one he did like a crazy front flip thing that
was pretty wild, and I was like, don'art yourself. But
the other ones, I just saw the the guys pushing them,
and I don't know, it's it's tough in those situations.
A lot of times the refs, you know, blow the
play dead. But you really just like all I can
do back there is like yo, push, like somebody hit him,

(30:52):
you know. So they did a good job, like getting
everybody in there, and sometimes they blow it dead, sometimes
they don't. So it was a good job by by Connor.

Speaker 11 (30:58):
What do you make of Connor's run after catchability?

Speaker 16 (31:02):
Yeah, that was good. I don't know, he did a
pretty good job. I've had that happen to me a
few times in my career, weirdly enough, so, but he
did a good job. He caught it and made some
some yak.

Speaker 5 (31:12):
I was like, rock is is getting close?

Speaker 10 (31:15):
And you made no bones about the fact that you
know that this is Brock's team and you're.

Speaker 5 (31:20):
Just doing your job and doing what as of you.

Speaker 10 (31:22):
But you've got a pretty good run here, a lot
of good games to show who you are and already
your teammates.

Speaker 5 (31:28):
What does that meant to you?

Speaker 16 (31:30):
It's met a lot. I mean, I think everybody on
this team's had my back, and Brock included, and he's
just been so fun to work with. Brock and everybody
in the quarterback room. So I've been fortunate to have
some wins here and we have been fortunate to have
some wins, and that's important. Everyone counts early in the
year and all you're trying to do is get to
that number so you can get in the playoffs, but
got a long way to go there. And we're just

(31:51):
taking it one week at a time, and my goal
is to be prepared whatever role I'm in and just
looking forward to the challenge next week.

Speaker 5 (31:58):
Just watching you practice pretty cool. You like having good time.

Speaker 16 (32:02):
And sorry you and then you.

Speaker 5 (32:06):
Watching you practice, you know you look like you're having fun.

Speaker 6 (32:09):
You're a good time, You're falling around with your receivers,
you're having a good time. How important is that that
you play football and that work it.

Speaker 5 (32:16):
And that you have that fun.

Speaker 16 (32:17):
Yeah, it's very important. I think that's why you play right.
You play to have fun, and when and when you
can do both, it's it's really awesome. And even when
you're losing, like you still have to go out there
and enjoy the week of practice. And enjoy the process.
That shouldn't change each week, you know. So it's really
fun that you can that they allow us to do
that here, I guess, and the music's on and everyone's
dancing having a good time. But we're also super intentionally

(32:40):
focused when we have to do our jobs and play.
So there's a balance. But I don't I don't want
it to seem like a bad thing, you know. It's
it's a cool thing that everyone has here and that's
what it's all about.

Speaker 5 (32:53):
Sure, you kind of.

Speaker 7 (32:53):
Spoke about your toughness, and I mean, we've seen you
take hits. It kind of seem like, you know, they're rattling,
maybe just a little bit, but you come right back
every time.

Speaker 5 (33:02):
And I'm curious to.

Speaker 7 (33:04):
Know, like where does the toughness come from? Utobe for
see the pink last week and throwing kind of felt
like you pulling a scab off at least that's what
she recorded.

Speaker 16 (33:11):
Yeah, yeah, I.

Speaker 7 (33:14):
Think that you were paying Like what is it that
fuels you to say, I'm just not going down, I'm
not staying on the sideline. I'm gonna go back out
there as long as I can want me move.

Speaker 16 (33:22):
Yeah, for sure, I mean I played with a lot
of tough players and watched a lot of tough quarterbacks
play in front of me, whether that was in college
or whatever, and just learned it. I think it rubs
up on the team, and I feel like if you're
if you're you're able to play and you can protect yourself,
you should be out there. So that's that's what it's
all about. And those guys are getting hit every play,
so they have it much worse than I do. And

(33:43):
they did a good job this evening keep me upright.
And I mean the only big hit I took was
when I had to tackle the guy on the interception,
So other than that, I feel good. Like it is
definitely part of my DNA though JO.

Speaker 9 (33:56):
But do they ever say, hey, maybe not that, or
they say, oh that's okay, that's cool.

Speaker 16 (34:00):
I mean, if you complete it, they're happy, So thank you.
