Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh oh, oh, hey there.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Oh this is my new collection with Chubbies very comfortable
workout gear. I like to work out and I like
to be very comfortable, so you can stag a guy
released today Chubbies.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
He told me when I asked about the Rookies day,
the NFL is the land of opportunity. How do you
feel that Grindo dated the land of opportunities today?
Speaker 2 (00:24):
You know, I think all of our rookies kind of
stepped up. Isaac was phenomenal.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
You know.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
I always just yelled him and say, hey, you ran
zero point oh one seconds fast. It's slower than raheem Mozert.
So always just strive for that speed when you're running
the ball. And he did a really good job without
the day, you know, he took advantage of those and
I think he got more comfortable the more reps he got,
you know, each and every rep, and uh, he's just
gonna keep getting better with all the reps that he gets.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
And so that was awesome. Thought.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Ricky played really well, you know, just for him to
be out there, took advantage of his opportunities that uh,
the rum that he had being able to set up
my block to be able to then go downfield. It's fantaststic.
So I thought, uh, you know, Jay Cown and the
part return stuff was incredibly you know, he got ran
into and they didn't throw a flag on that one,
but you know, you just catch every pun getting vertical.
I thought, he's doing a really good job for us too,
(01:11):
and you know, Poony's pretty good.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
I believe you guys got off to the same type
of start. Do you feel like this was a get
back on track win or we're back on track win
as we hit into the break and then we can
come out kind of like with some different Did.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
You say it's a get back on track or this
is like, oh.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
We finally got back on track, or do you feel
like this is we're we're making our way towards getting
back on track.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
As a team, small consistent steps in the right direction,
leader great results, and this was just one step. It's
a long season, you know, being able to be We're
five and three last year going into the by four
and four this time. I know, I think we all
wish our records a little bit better, but that's just
where it is. That's our reality. And getting to win
and night was huge, and uh, you know it just
you know, gives you confidence. You know, I think there's
a lot of things that we're gonna try to clean up,
(01:55):
myself included, but I think we're taking steps in the
right direction.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
I have all the tight ends run out together. And
do you have any other rituals on this holiday that
you create? Ooh, that was my idea. You know.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
We had four active tight ends for the first time
this year, so I was really excited about that, getting
braid will's up. You know, it's a holiday you're trying to,
you know, celebrate all tight ends, you know, not just
you know, guys who get a bunch of targets and
stuff like tight ends are the greatest stuff special teams,
goal line stuff. So I'm just happy to have them
all run out with me. I really, I really do
appreciate my tight end room this year. They've been fantastic.
Just helped me out as much as I can be
(02:30):
any other things I do on my holiday, you know,
I think I I think I lost the last two
on the holiday, So getting a win on national tight
Ends that was very helpful for my confidence. And no,
he's still the hardest person ever get ahold of that's
the same story.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
I haven't tried a little bit, but yes, you.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Fifth in branch and receptions and franchise history, third in
reception or yardage. How do you feel about being in
that that elite.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Crowd an honor?
Speaker 2 (03:02):
You know, just thankful that I got to be a
part of an organization, you know, with a very high
standard of how they play football. Thankful that you know
they've kept me around for a long time, and you know,
just every single day striving to be better than I
was the day before and continually prove that. You know,
I need to be on the San Francisco for and
as roster, so you know, be on a list with
any of those names, I mean any any lessen around
(03:23):
with Jerry Rice.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Is a good thing.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
But to be with all those other guys, it's fantastic,
and you know, it's just an honor and you get
to I think I learned it in college, was you
want to leave your jersey in a better place. And
that's all I'm striving to do every single day. And
I know all those guys did that.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Really, if guys did go to the league and they
get popular and they produce and endorsements all kinds of
good things, happen for him, and then some of them
lose sight of you know, how they got there and
and love of the game. It never seems to have
happened to you. How do you sort of strike that balance?
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Football is a very humble in sport.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
You know, if you don't you know, grinding the off season,
get your body as healthy as you can possibly can be,
take advantage of the.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Reps that you get, you fall off quickly.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
And you know, when I was a rookie, I came
in and started over a bunch of vets. We traded
a guy away, so I it was a very quick
reality for me. It was like, yeah, nothing's really for
certain here. And so if you don't have like an
itch in the back of your neck that someone's coming
to take your job every single day, then your job's
gonna get taken from you.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
And you know, that is.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
An itch that I've had and I think about it
every single day that I'm gonna be my best self today.
So there's absolutely no way that anybody could take my
job because I'm gonna be better than them.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Playing football for almost three months, maybe more than that.
How do you physically feel at this point this season?
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Way better than last year. Goodness, gracious, so fantastic. I'm breathing.
I woke up today and I got to play football
and nothing else got worse.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
So I'm feeling great.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
To get I don't know, rejuvenated. Is there anything they
can do.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
By week out with my wife as much as possible
and probably avoid all of you guys.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
I'm kidding, but I'm going to disappear for a week.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
That's a lot relax in time around this game compared
to last week.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Talk of how special was the boys.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
In third quarter.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Brock's a fantastic quarterback.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
You can feel his poise when he's in the huddle,
just getting this guy's attention, this little things he says
to the guys in the huddle about what we need
to do, Like even the end of the second half, like, hey, guys,
try to stay in bounds. We're bleeding the clock out,
trying not to give them a possession, even though we
did give them another possession, but technically we scored last
so it still worked out. But uh, just his poison.
(05:41):
Like but like he's we're trying to throw a screen
and he realizes that the screen's not there and he
runs upfield for thirteen plus yards whatever it was like.
Just having that won the athletic ability to be able
to do it, but also the cognitive ability to realize
that and then go do it when you have a
quarterback to do that and then also make plays on
top of it. It's very helpful for the San Francisco
forty nine ers. Thanks guys, Enjoy the holiday.
