Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's up, guys, all right.
Speaker 2 (00:03):

will not practice calf slash.
Speaker 1 (00:09):

Speaker 2 (00:10):

practice ved day. Brock Purty won't practice left shoulder toe,
Juwan Jennings won't practice shoulder. Jordan James limited finger, Jordan

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Go ahead.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Any further sense about whether Brock will be able to
play on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
I think it's a long shot.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
George Kittle's hamstring. Is there any more details or just.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
To no, It's gonna be some time.
Speaker 4 (00:44):
Is it possible that party's injury could be a multi
week thing?
Speaker 5 (00:46):
That's the toe more so than the shoulder, Kott, What
do you see as the strength of Mews's game after
watching him the summer?
Speaker 2 (01:00):
I think mag knows how to play the position. He
can play well in the pocket, distributes the ball well
so he's coverage as well, can play fast in there.
It's got a lot of good film from the NFL.
With the experience and obviously college uh tough guy will
hang in there.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
And delivered to the ball where he needs to go?
Speaker 4 (01:18):
Did someone step on his foot?
Speaker 6 (01:19):
Brock?
Speaker 4 (01:19):
Did someone step on his foot in the pocket? Do
you know how the toe injury happened? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:23):
I think it happened scrambling. I think when Love tackle
him by the sideline. I believe it happened.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
He was playing through that in the game or it
is just something you found out later.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Yeah, what about the sorry? What about the third quarterback spot?
Any any changes there?
Speaker 7 (01:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:43):
I mean we'd love to have three guys in the
building ready to go. We obviously still got Brock, but
he's not going right now. We got some roster issues
where we just can't bring one in right away.
Speaker 8 (01:53):
What you still like about what's that?
Speaker 4 (01:57):
But what do you like about Eddie?
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Everyone thought he was the best option.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
When I look at just his history, I like how
it shows high accurate he's been. I think that was
the strongest scene that stuck out, and it's got a
lot of experience.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
What ultimately led the decision to let Jankee go?
Speaker 2 (02:11):
I think by where it got to if there wasn't
that much of a decision. It's always tough with that,
you know, especially when you have a talented guy. I
have some experience with that in my past. Remember when
I was in Washington, I didn't have that experience, and
our kicker lost us a game.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
And remember how adamant I was when I went into.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
The head coach's office and said, you need to make
a change, Like what are we doing? He snapped in me,
he said, you don't know kickers. This guy's really talented.
We got to give him some time, not going to
watch him go be a pro bowler for somewhere else,
someone else. Then two weeks later, he missed a kick
and lost us a game.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
So I felt like validated.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
I was like I told you, which I was right
for like a day because then the next year he
went on to be a pro bowler in the highest
paid the kicker in the league for the next three
years for another team. So thore are things that you
kind of think about. It's tough with the kicker. I
think Jake's got a chance to have a of a future.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
He is that talented.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
But when it gets to that spot where it is
we all know how last year ended, we know how
everyone was looking at him, and obviously when he gets
to that point, you can see it affected him from
a mental game.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Then you don't have much choice. You got to move
on and hopefully he will come in here do the job.
Speaker 7 (03:20):
Obviously it's a business, but how hard is that conversation
to have with Moody after you great up here and
then you coach them, you give them, you know, some confidence,
you help them build his confidence, but then in the
end it's just it's not working out.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
I don't think it's that hard to have because I
think it is what it is.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
I mean, I think he knows. He wouldn't disagree with us.
I mean, he lost his com he'd have to say why.
But it looked like he lost his confidence and he
wasn't kicking the ball well enough and it was way
too inconsistent. So once that happens, and when you're stroke
and golf is changing all the time and you're trying
to fix things, trying to try not to miss, it's
very hard to succeed at this.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Level that way.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
And there wasn't anything I had to beat around the
bush on. He knew that, and to a degree, I
think this will give him a chance to move on
and hopefully find a place where he can get a
swag back.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
In that way, Howard Brock and Mac different and similar.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
I mean they're real similar in terms of how they
play the game. They're both extremely tough. They both can
distribute the ball. I don't know who has a faster
forty Brackett says a little bit better of a scrambler,
but they're close to similar.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
Can you say he has turf toe.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
If you want me to.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
That's that's a generic thing for anything on the bottom
of the big toe. And since it's halfway between the
side and the bottom, that's why we don't say turf toe.
But third time you've asked me, so I'll call it
turf toe for you.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
If you want.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
A lot of medical Yeah, you've gained a lot of
medical knowledge.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Now I just prepare for you, so I've memorized something
before I come in and hope it will not lead
to a fifth question about his big toe that you
want to call it turf toe.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
That's kind This was my first.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
It's brought a pretty total question.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
That's a phone call.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
We go check the transcript.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
I feel like I can tell by your tone who's you?
Speaker 4 (05:09):
Is it? Is it? What foot is it on? Is
it the big toe?
Speaker 1 (05:13):
That's I don't have to say.
Speaker 7 (05:18):
Queen looked at Jawan jennings shoulder.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
You can Kendrick Horn get involved.
Speaker 7 (05:24):
In the offense.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
I mean it always takes time.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
I mean, I know he's been here, but when that's
five years ago or whatever it is, He's been a
lot of different stuff and we've changed a lot of stuff,
so it takes time, you hope to ease him in
and put him in there when it's totally the right time.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
We'll see if we have that option.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
He he played with mac Jones for three years. Helme
at all.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
I mean I think it not totally. I mean it's
good that it doesn't hurt. I mean, Matt Macot's got
a feel for KP and stuff like that. But since
not a big deal, since it's such a new offense
right now for him, and is.
Speaker 7 (05:56):
It also a little shot being that the CT skank
that could Mari.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
And they, I guess it's just.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
I mean, I'm not gonna put anything on it. It's
got a chance to play and hopefully will.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
What did you see from New Orleans Ope the weekend.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
I saw a team that every chance to win that game.
I mean they had it within two scores for a while.
I saw a defense that was really hard to get
on the in the end zone on I saw special
teams that blocked a field goal, that rushes the kicks
very well, that has two returners who won with a
Pro Bowler last year.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
And scored a couple of times. Guys who can score
on teams.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
And then I saw an offense and the quarterback who
drove him down all the way down on the last
play where I thought they had a drop on the
last play that would at least tied it up.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
To go to overtime or go for two for the win.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
So I saw a team that's very capable be and
one to know it is their first time together. And
saw some guys that remembered from the past but looked
like a New Orleans football team.
Speaker 5 (06:49):
I know you've gone short stretches without George Kittle before,
but four games I think will be the longest since
since he's been or how our daunting is that to
lose a guy like.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
That for four games. It's a challenge.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
I mean, once you know what it is, I mean
you kind of get out of your head and move
on and try to work with what you got. You know,
I think it's hard to when guys miss four games
and they always got a chance, and then because you're
always planning on it, and then it's different.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
So we know we don't have him for four weeks.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
And it'll be a challenge for everybody. And you don't
replace George in the run game, and you definitely don't
replace him in the past game, So it'll be challenge
for everybody.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Andreck Corner, I remember you once comparing him to your
son in a very positive way.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
Does he still have that personality?
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Oh no, I think my son was like eleven now
he was nine.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
Then.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
I think they've both grown up a little. All Right.
Speaker 8 (07:39):
It's been a while since we've seen Robert in this building.
What did you make of his defense on Sunday? It's
a lot different than the last time we saw him here.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
I mean that's what I expected just talking to him
and what we've seen throughout the practices and everything. But
I mean, I love having solved back. Feel very fortunate
for that, and our players love him. And I thought
he did the job on Sunday.
Speaker 6 (08:01):
What do you see from the old line on Sunday
and helping the challenge to the Saints present theme this week?
Speaker 2 (08:07):
I thought our line played well on Sunday. I mean,
there's things I'd like to have back. You know, they
pressured us a ton of times. We had to throw
a hot a number of times. But uh, it's it's
gonna be a huge challenge this week too. They've got
a number of good players.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
Hopefully we keep getting better when it comes.
Speaker 9 (08:23):
To that, I mean, I'm asking it kind of in
relation to Moody being part of the twenty twenty three draft.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
But the twenty three.
Speaker 9 (08:31):
Drafts, I would say probably you guys wouldn't say what
are your best? You didn't have a first round pick.
It did get pretty at But were there any takeaways
that you guys, I know keep dives on everything. Are
there any takeaways from those two drafts that you've applied
to these next two?
Speaker 1 (08:51):
I can't think at all. I don't know what years
you're talking about right now.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
I'm thinking of totally about New Orleans, So I'm not
really ready to answer that question.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
We apply things from every.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Draft, good ones, bad ones, So it's I can't want
to have it as specific for you. Right now we're
worried about New Orleans and Turftile.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
Love for sure.
Speaker 8 (09:11):
How did you make of Brandon Staley's defense from.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
New Orleans last week.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
That looked real good. I mean there a problem does
a lot of things coaches are real well. Looked like
they were picking it.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Up fast, and I thought he was that They made
it real hard on Arizona throughout all four quarters. No
targets for Marcus Veld and Scantling or Russell Page in
that last game.
Speaker 9 (09:29):
Was that just a product of the play and how
they developed her It's just getting them.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
A I think everything I mean targets. We don't really
predetermine targets unless you give a receiver a screen or
a handoff. Everything else has to do with coverages and
their opportunities.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
So sometimes a little better luck than others.
Speaker 6 (09:47):
Was saying that he's been split in time between fullback
and tight end meetings more this year than that he
hasn't been past. I know he does some of that
stuff anyway, but is the line getting blurred a little
more in those positions and could he.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Be more of an option?
Speaker 2 (10:00):
I think it's always been pretty blurred. They're almost the
same thing, just somewhat very small different skill sets. But
Juice is one of the smarter players I've been around.
He's been here for this is the ninth year now,
so we try to switch it out more for him
to keep intriguing him, put them in some different rooms.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
He goes back and forth more.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
But you know, we ask oli our tight ends to
do what the fullback does too in case you lose
juice in a game, So both of them are there's
a lot of carryover.
Speaker 8 (10:28):
We have to bring in another quarterback this week.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
We'd like to.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
We just don't know. If we can't another tight end,
we'd like to. I think we're trying to do that now.
Speaker 6 (10:39):
In terms of the normiy up and down in New Orleans,
do you think Seattle will kind of press you for
what you're gonna.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Experience to a degree?
Speaker 2 (10:47):
I mean, Seattle is one of the lotest places I've been,
and same with New Orleans. Last time we were there
twenty Codre, I kind of blacked out, so and I
remember that, But twenty nineteen I do, and that that
was a lot oft game I've ever been in. That shootout,
So preparing for that and hope to make it quieter.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
More forty nine ers fans in the Seattle than there
have been in the past.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Yeah, probably, I mean I really notice when I see
the Red when I walk out.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
After that, I don't.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
I don't see much off the field though, but it
was cool to hear him walking off the field.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
Heard them a lot louder than other fans
Speaker 7 (11:22):
All right, m hm
