Speaker 1 (00:03):
All right, guys.
Speaker 2 (00:04):

Watkins calf out, Brock Perdy toe out, e tour knee
hamstring out, Kevin Gibbons peck out, Juwan Jennings questionable ankle,
rib Alfred knee questionable, Stout ankle questionable, Mac Jones ne
obleak questionable, Cleia Davis hand questionable, Mustafa knee questionable.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Go ahead, see.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Enough from Mac today to alleviate any fears you may
have had yesterday.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
Or what was the situation, yesterdoor, he's not throwing? Were
just limited with this? Throwing today is always a lot better.
Everything's walked through. So I wondered, pretty good today?
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Was that like trace more to the oblique or we
have arm cramps from last game?
Speaker 1 (00:50):
It was, I do know what I don't have to tell.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
So he has to do with his knee slash obleak.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
So when will when will you make the determination on Mac?
If he's able to go as a you think in
the next tomorrow is at a a game time.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Pretty much already have, but you you gotta put it
that way if there's any doubt at all, So.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Pretty much already have. So you have very little doubt
that he'll be a play I mean, he was alreadycorded.
I don't have to repeat my answer. Oh third time?
Am I going to.
Speaker 5 (01:34):
What's the UH plan for a Kurdish war this year?
Speaker 1 (01:37):
He should?
Speaker 4 (01:38):
We should open his windows soon. It's getting real close
to uh, probably a few weeks away. I mean it
could be anywhere from next week to a few weeks.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
But he's close. He's moving good, and UH, it'll be soon.
Speaker 5 (01:48):
Do you expect him to, you know, go to the
practice squad or h How would you kind of place
a a rookie who didn't have spring or training camp
onto the roster.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Yeah, I think that's a lot. I think.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
I mean, I think he'll look good when he's ready
to go in those three weeks. But someone has missed
all of the off season and everything that that would
be tough to call him next man up or any
situation like that. So that's why, you know, he probably
could have gone this week, just especially with us, you know,
being down at quarterback and everything, but we'd like to
wait till he's fully healthy, and we're not gonna put
him up just for that reason.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
So we'll see how it's three weeks go, and if it.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
Makes sense on a roster and you can do it,
then we'll do that, and if not, we'll shut him down.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Goods Rams. Obviously, there are a few times where it
looked like Martinez would have to go in do you like,
do you have a idea?
Speaker 5 (02:42):
Like?
Speaker 3 (02:42):
These are the package your plays, these are the places
he's comfortable with that if he knows, I mean, can
you plan that far in advance or are you just
kind of not wing it if he has to inser
the game?
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Yeah, I mean to agree to a degree. This week's
been nice for him.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
He's got a lot more reps with the ones this week,
just filming for Mac and stuff, so we've been able
to see him on tape more instead of just running
cards and things like that. So got a better feeling
this week than I have in the past few weeks.
You always try to keep it as simple as you
can for guys in that situation. Give him certain things,
tell him things you, he tells you things he's the
most comfortable with, and then you try to isolate on
(03:18):
that stuff. But when you get into a game, it's
it's it's about the situation. So you try to make
it as easy as possible. But you know you you you,
you do what you have to do based off how
the game's going.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Camera panned to you when Mac was grabbing that is
look like his knee or it is, like understand the
why you did not look thrilled?
Speaker 5 (03:40):
Can you can you recall what was.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Going through your mind? It may look like Mac obviously
was it gonna be able to feurish that game?
Speaker 4 (03:46):
I can't, but I think the camera hands to me
during the game, I'd say ninety five percent of the time,
I don't look that thrilled. Just game time, we're focused
on stuff and I was trying to figure out what
happened to him. I'm I didn't see it, so look
down the field, so it looked pretty bad, so don't
have the best feelings at all for sure, And was
waiting to see it on the board and couldn't see
(04:06):
anything bad on the board. And then when he ran
up the field, I felt a lot better and moved
on with my life. So I can't remember exactly I
fell at that moment, but it wasn't good.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Do you ever have football nightmares that wake up in
the middle of the night. I?
Speaker 4 (04:21):
Yeah, who who doesn't? Oh, it's I don't know. I'm
usually too tired. I fall back asleep pretty fast, but
now I don't have any in particular. It's more about
all the stuff you went over that day, all the
stuff you feel like you are thinking about because you
can't go to sleep, and then all the stuff that
you feel you got to do about four hours later,
and so you just it's like that during the season.
(04:43):
That's why the three days off for nice. You catch
up and see how long can take you.
Speaker 5 (04:48):
Katie, you've used used check in a lot of different ways.
What would you say evaluating his whole game? What's his
greatest scale?
Speaker 4 (04:55):
You think, Uh, his greatest is how good a fullback
he is. I mean just how good he is at
moving full speed through traffic and being able to fill
out space and get to his assignments and get to
the right people.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
Just his feeling space and when he gets there, he's got.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
The power to block people. He's got the technique. He's
extremely smart, not just because he went to Harvard. It's
actually real. He can handle anything we give him. When
you play fullback at that level, people have to honor
what a fullback does compared to a third receiver, which
changes personnel, and then when it comes to putting him
(05:33):
in other spots, it doesn't matter really what it is.
He's got as good as hands as anyone I've seen
on the team, and he's not scared of the moment.
He makes big plays and he is fearless full time
slow receiver if you wanted to be Uh, yeah, definitely,
And he might not be the best in the league
at it like he is a running back, but he
(05:53):
definitely can make it as a slow receiver without a doubt.
Jake giving you the confidence that he can tribute even
when George comes back and takes the line share of reps. Yeah, definitely.
Jake's given us a lot of confidence. I mean him
just coming into this role out of nowhere versus Seattle.
I'm finishing the game that way. And then just each week,
(06:15):
he's been thrown in a lot of situations he hasn't
been in before, and I think he's roast to thecation.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
On all of them. Some of the catches you guys
seen him.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
Made make how much better I think he's getting in
the run game. Some of the hits he's taken in
a couple of these games where I thought we've lost him.
It happened early, I think, on the first drive vers Jacksonville,
and then happened later in the game versus the Rams,
and for him to get back right out there, and
I think only missed a couple of plays, and it
keep going.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
I've been really impressed with.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Jake, and that's why he's learning a role in a
lot of ways.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
All Right, thanks guys.
Speaker 5 (06:48):
Good
