Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, guys.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Uh, injury for the game. We just got demo with
the calf. He'll be questionable.
Speaker 1 (00:05):
That's it. How did you yes, I mean try to
go to day. Didn't.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
We're gonna get out mrih here. Uh, didn't think it
was that serious. Did a jogging from a drill?
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Just some tightness. We'll find more and we get MRI.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
With.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
What excites you most about making a game plan with
Brock back as your starter?
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Just having him back?
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Uh, I know it was a long long wait for him,
just having these you know, each week, watching them getting
better and better. I thought it was an awesome week
for him, just getting back to do what he does,
do what we do, and do it aggressively.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
It made it's clear to us on several occasions that
he knew his role and everything. And you got the
the reaction you expected when you told him.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Yeah, yeah, it's pretty pretty pretty easy in our inside
of our building.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Yeah, no work. He said, you want to see three
aggressive practices. At what point did you realize that wasn't
necessary to see from brought pretty early in the Wednesday. Yeah,
able to broaden out your playbook because he has greater mobility.
Maybe than as opposed to Mac.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Oh, yeah, we're gonna major in the zone read and
semi quarterback rounds we can get, so they better be
working all that stuff. It's I mean, I think he
might have a little bit of a faster forty and
someone maybe a little more scrambling, but Mac might argue
Mac had some alright scrambles too, so there's not a
big difference as in place.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Well, here's all back too. I mean, just what excites
you about having the offense, you know, as close to
full strength really as it's been all year.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
I mean, I'm just happy those two have been back.
I mean, we were hoping it would be faster both
of them, and it just took a while. So I mean,
I don't want to put a lot on them being
out so long that they're just going to come back
and be exactly where they left off. But they had
a good week of practice and I'm just I'm excited
to get it started with them again, and I hope
he can continue throughout.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
The year if Lenoa can't go.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
What have you guys seen from Lure this year and
in just over sort of the course of his career.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
I know it's been up and down because of injuries. Yeah,
I think Loot's taking a big step this year. He
always had been close to getting some opportunities. I believe
it was Jacksonville that he got in and got the
most and I thought he played really well. I think
it was Jacksonville for a while ago. But at the
game he got in, which I believe was in, I
thought he played really well. He's been better in practice
than he's ever been before, whether it's with the year
(02:36):
with scout teams. So if that happens, we've got a
lot of confidence in Loop.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
What have you seen on tape looking at Jacoby Brissett
and how he's.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Played for I mean pretty much what I've seen his
whole career.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
I mean, Jacoby is a real good quarterback. That's so
he's made in this league so long. I mean he's
usually a backup, but backups last when they can play
like ones. And wherever he's been, he's coming and played
like a one. He's a big guy who competes, who
can play in the pocket, competes.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Grambling really hard to take down.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
You usually need two guys to bring him down, sometimes three,
and you can make some big throws.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
You've talked before about what you put on Christian's play,
the things that you can do because of his past
catching ability.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
How do you know what kind of where to draw
the line on, like is this too much.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Or you know, in terms of what you ask him
to do on a weekly.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Basis, I mean he's capable of doing everything. It's more
about where's his body at and things like that, you know,
just watching how he practices, talking to him on a
daily basis, how he feels, seen him throughout the game.
But what you can put on his plate from a
talent standpoint, and and just from how prepared he is.
You know, he handles pretty much everything.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
Is he in some ways kind of challenged you and
to you know, just stretch your imagination in ways because
you there are not many players like him.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Yes, but I mean that started back in twenty two
the first day we got him. We knew it would
be exciting to get a player like him, and uh,
since we got him, I think he's I mean, I
think players evolve offenses, and always when you get certain
types of players, that's that's when offense has changed. I
mean you always want to attack defenses and stuff, and
there's only so many ways to do it. When you
get different types of players, offenses expand and I think
(04:10):
he's changed our offense since he's gone here.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
How much did you look at Walter Nolan before the draft?
Did you consider taking him? Did you like him and
what he's seen from him now? Yeah, we looked at
him a lot.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
He was a real good player, one of the better
inside d linemen in the draft, extremely talented, knew a
lot of his coaches from Ole Miss, who spoke real
highly of them, and we were fortunate that he didn't
go against us in the first game. And just seeing
him on tapies last few weeks or whatever it's been,
and he looks like he did in college at first
round picks who should have a real good career.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
I've been told that the culture in a quarterback room
is important. Do you agree with that and how has
that impact of this team this year?
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yeah, I think it's important. Just culture everywhere is important.
But even in the smaller groups, you're just with each
other so much. It's such a long air and it's
usually seven days a week so and it's a small room.
So I went when it's not good in the it's
just wearing people and the culture has been great in
there this year. It was great last year. I it
was awesome when Sam was here. So we've had a
good group of guys in there.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
Can there take out of that first game against Arizona
just because they've obviously got some different pieces in this one,
but can you take something out of that game?
Speaker 2 (05:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Really, I think I think it'll be very similar. I
mean there's some.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Guys, some different players for us, some different players for them.
But you watch that game, you watch the two years
prior to that game, and you watch the five games
after whatever it's been, and they're they're all very similar.
I mean, everyone makes some adjustments and stuff and you
find those out on Sunday. But it's like all of
our divisionpponents, not a not a ton changes, right. I
(05:44):
heard what you've said about your wife counseling you to
give more compliments.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
How is that going?
Speaker 2 (05:50):
I mean, you gave it one to Mac.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
It's nice.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Is that something you are incorporating kind of your daily
routine now or is that still you may I think
it's awkward when I do it. I think I make
other people feel awkward too, So it's but I'm still
trying to do it. It's yeah, what's that, Well, you
gotta earn one, though, I'm just joking. It's it's I don't.
(06:18):
I always tell people we work with like you need compliments,
like everyone who's working here, I obviously feel pretty good
about if you know so, I think that should go understood.
But also same thing with my wife. Were married very happily,
and so you would think would be understood. But sometimes
you gotta use terms of endearment and make sure you
give the people what they want. I wan't read your
(06:43):
stories tell you truth, but I usually can tell by
your questions what they're about, lots of injuries, anything else,
