Speaker 1 (00:01):
All right, guys.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Injury report for the week. Jordan Watkins will be out,
Spencer Burford out, Connor Colby questionable, Juwan Jennings questionable, brock
Purtty questionable.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
Go ahead with.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
Colby injury, Uh right, practice, it might be a couple
of weeks. Yeah, definitely.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Yeah, you never know the cast, but guests around three
to four.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Did you see brock Purty make progress this week?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yeah, a lot of progress. I thought he had a
good week, you know, hopefully and we can get him
up for the game.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
We'll go into that decision, Kyle.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
See how he does tomorrow. Just talking to him, you know,
I I think it's highly unlikely that he'll start, but
just trying to see where he's at, to see if
he could be a two or an emergency three.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Is it the kind of injury that he could make
worse if he were to play.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
That's what we want to make sure not of. Yeah,
I mean, if it's certain parts haven't got there fully,
then you can uh So that's what we're trying to
bas off of, which probably won't know for Shurtle Sunday
on that. But that's why I think it's highly unlikely
he'd be out there as a starter.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Who's next manned up?
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Next man up?
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Behind kolbe be a surprise for everyone, but you know,
it could be Drew Moss. It could be as the
kel could have been Spencer, but we let we we
went down, so uh, some more guys could probably mention,
but most likely one of those two.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Kind of what's the distinction between Brock not starting?
Speaker 3 (01:33):
But you know, if he's a backup, obviously he could play, So.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
I guess what's the distinction?
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Then you're making between.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Us the things that he would be limited in. So
I then there's certain things that he could do, maybe
certain things he'd couldn't. So we're trying to decide if
he could do that. And when you won't know that
till Sunday, you don't get to practice in any other area.
Don't want to force it on Sunday, but I don't
mind finding out if you have to.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
Have you learned he's pretty previous times when he might
go and might play that. He's been pretty honest with
you about.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Rock pushes himself to go as hard as anyone I've
been around. But he's very level headed in terms of
being realistic, and he doesn't just talk with his heart.
You know, he works with his heart, but he talks
with his mind and lets us really know what the
chances are of it. And if he can't do it,
I'll let you know.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Even with the Seattle night with the brid in the
Thursday night.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Yeah, he really thought he was going to be able
to go, and he was struggling so much in pregame
warm ups there that that's why that game was so crazy,
that he didn't think he could go after pregame warm
ups and I was changing the openers, but our backup
quarterback at time, I had only been here for like
four days because we've got him off another team. And
then I was doing that and he came right in
and goes, no, I'm good now, so changed. So Brock
(02:47):
will keep He'll be honest all the way up to
kick off.
Speaker 5 (02:52):
How with Fred, obviously the production has been what he's
been for pretty much his whole career. But how how
do you see his impact whenever you put another linebacker
now to him, no matter who it is, that seems
to always have success, how much of that can you attribute.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
To Fri him?
Speaker 2 (03:05):
I mean, I never won't take away from anyone else.
I mean, Drake Greenlaw is such a great player, and
Dee Winner is a very good player who's got the
chance to become like that. But Fred just makes everyone
better around him, how decisive he is with how he communicates,
how quick he can pick things up. I mean when
they change the formations to all these motions, like it's
very hard to get Fred confused. So I think he
(03:26):
makes everyone out there play a little bit faster. When
he's not there, I think everyone hesitates a little bit more.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
And my eyes were deceiving me.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
It's hard to tell with those jerseys that Eli Apple
was wearing one of the special teams the player of
the week for Scout Team jerseys. To say, do you
want to a ten year veteran eighty some starts is
getting that kind of distinction, I.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Think it says a lot because you guys a good
player I've gone against some number of times in this league,
and he's been awesome since we've had him here. He
was good in training camp, just got hurt after the
first week, and he's great since he's came back. He
rehabed away from here real well. I think he's been
awesome in these three weeks now. On our practice squad,
plays dB at a high level, but he got a
special team Scout Team Player of the Week, which just
(04:11):
shows he's doing everything and he's a really awesome example
for a guy who started in this league, played at
a high level, but awesome example for all the young guys.
Just on that it really doesn't matter. You got to
work no matter where you're at, and when you do
it like that, there's it's a matter of time where
I think he'll help us on Sundays too.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Well.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Have you got any more clarity on Spencer's MEE injury?
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Not more clarity. I just know it didn't go as
well as we wanted to do this week, which is
why he's out, and we'll see probably after this week
and whether we've got to make a longer term decision
with it.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Surgery might be insinary.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
It could be possible.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Apologize if you said this, but do you expect Brock
in uniform Sunday, either as the two or the three.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
That's what we're not sure yet. We're still waiting in
the side.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
On that by Saturday.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Given the a lot based off of some other things
make him the emergency and I believe Martinez can't be
a flex. He's got to be an active roster, so
that's why a lot more things go into it also,
and then we got some the little line stuff that
changed yesterday. So that's why there's like six layers connected
to that. You guys will me explain and I can't.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
So is wat Kids a candidate for Fry or two
could be?
Speaker 2 (05:23):
I think his injuries like that. You know, anytime you
have a calf, you know it's it's definitely long enough.
So but and we're a lout of eight of them.
I think if we did that, that'd be already six already.
So a lot of things we got away on that decision.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
So kolbe get hurt yesterday.
Speaker 6 (05:37):
Yes, of a luxury is it to have a guy
like Mac Jones, especially with how well he played last week,
just having confidence in him whenever he needs.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
To go, it's great. I mean, to be able to
get backup quarterback in this league, a number two quarterback,
I believe you got to be able to play like
a one. And Mac has definitely done at a high
level when he is a one, when he has been
a one, and he showed that on Sunday. He's showing
our guys that since he's been here, so I think
they didn't surprise the guys, but Max a real good
player and feel fortunate to have him.
Speaker 6 (06:09):
As far as what evolution have you seen Kyler's game
over the years, I mean he's historic in terms.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Of a passer and a runner.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
I mean, I think it changed a lot with the
scheme difference, you know, you know, with Cliff earlier on
and then and then going to his new group now,
you know, I think he's he's been more under center
and stuff. He's balanced it out a little bit more.
I seen him develop a lot in his full work,
a lotg just in the quarterback position, but just as
a threat from a thrower, from a pastor regardless of
(06:39):
what system me he's in. He's he's always been a
huge threat from both. Was a thrower runner, but both
about it all right, Thanks guys, Thank you,
