Speaker 1 (00:00):
Some guys injuries from the game. Jordan Elliott hurt his
knee before the game, never played, Chase Lucas had a
stinger on the first play, returned. Ricky had his ankle
and knee didn't come back there at the end, came
back after the ankle. Spencer Burford ankle returned.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Go ahead.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Guys dominated the time of possession. He held the ball
for over thirty seven minutes. Was that part of the
game play and coming into trying to possess.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
The ball for that long?

Speaker 1 (00:27):
No, just I think we did well in third downs
and had some long drives. I was glad we played
well and third down and just when you do that
and stay out there for a while, that happens.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
So it's a good job by the guys.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Wow, Ricky did some really good things. Ricky did some
really good things tonight and then goes out at the end.
Is there any indication whether those injuries are serious enough
to keep him out?

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Well, you never well know for sure tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
But I mean he hurt the ankle on the first
play and returned and played without the whole game, and
then the knee thing I think was just him most
likely irritating his PCL from the past, those lingers, so
I would expect it to be all right, but he
was battled through a lot today.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
What did you think of Ricky being then coming into
into the game, It was more about his targets, how
many he was getting, what he was doing and it
Today he kind of had a pretty good, decent game
before he got hurt.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Yeah, I mean got hurt on the first play.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
But you know, it's I don't think Ricky is much
different than this last month. You know, the it just
worked out and the ball came that way, and he
made the plays when it did, you know, having to
play through the injuries and stuff in that game, and
he probably physically was struggling more in that game. So
I think it says a lot about him to still
be able to fight through it, get out there and still.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Have a very productive game. Was that a factor all day? Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:39):
He just woke up Saturday to the stiff, So that's
why we put him on there. You know, he was
pretty adamant last night he was going to be all right,
and woke up this morning with it all right.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
So no issue.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
I haven't thought you said you guys put Brandon on.
You preserved left team. Did you have to do that
right now?

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Why?

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Right now?

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Was that movie?

Speaker 1 (01:56):
I mean, yeah, we haven't seen him prop so I
mean that's just that's the decision they make. It's been
pretty simple for me. I mean I haven't seen him
in the month, so you know, that's the same with
our team. So it's hasn't been an issue with our
team at all. I've kind of been plugging away and
no big deal or it's just something we've been used
to for a while. But I know it's new to

(02:17):
you guys, So it just officially, I think had to
do that yesterday.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
Especially Johnathan saying you hoped he was in I'm bad
and you hope you still want that to happen. Do
you have enough was here? What do you think about
your receiving group that going on without him?

Speaker 5 (02:31):
Now?

Speaker 2 (02:32):
I mean we've been playing on the receiver group all year.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
I really have been hoping he would come back all year,
but not one point was I really planning on it.
So that would have been a great bonus. That would
have been awesome, and we'd love to have Ba out there.
We'd love to have that type of player. But something
I realized early on wasn't going to come for a while,
and there was nothing that made me sit there and
think it was happening soon. So I think the rest

(02:56):
of our team also communicated.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
To you or anyone else that he wasn't the way
to come back or has there been anyone that's.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Been in touch with him though, No, not that I've
talked to.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Is he out the picture with foreign enters now in
the future?

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Uh? I don't.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
I mean, uh, I want to say that's for sure
been decided. I literally haven't had to think about Ba
or had a reason to think about him in a
on a long time. He is under contract next year.
Ba's a guy, We've had a relationship for a while.
We've always liked va. He's everyone knows how good of
a player he is. That's extremely unfortunate that has gotten

(03:29):
to this point. But when this year is over, Uh,
we'll see where we're at.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
How would you describe A Brock's performance space somewhere he
was in control from very start.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Yeah. I thought Brock did a good job, made a
lot of plays.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
I made a number of off schedule plays too, and and
protected the ball. You know that the one turnover was unfortunate,
But I thought he did a good good job with
the ball, duh.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
Scrambling around at there, Kyle, Uh on that twenty six
yeard run down the left side line where you hope
you step out a little bit earlier.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Or were you go with him knowing? Uh? I mean,
now I was totally cool with him going. I mean,
you're protected right there.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
You get as much as you can and look like
he did a a basketball pump fig move or something
like that.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
But I mean, I don't see. It's the last second.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
I'm looking downfield and trying to see where the ball
should go, and then I look back and he's running
down the sidelines and I think he ended up getting
about thirty yards or close to thirty yards on it.
So I think I think that was a drive. We
went ninety five yards on. They pinned us back there,
and that was a huge explosive to get us going.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Oh the long dog lines.

Speaker 5 (04:24):
We've seen Rock did the Dougie. We've seen him, you know,
do the pump big and the ball in his face.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
What have you enjoyed us as coach?

Speaker 5 (04:30):
Just seeing him show a little bit more.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Of his personality.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
I mean, that's Brock's pretty consistent. He did the Dougie
because he promised the guys if he scored, he would
do the dougie, and he's not a liar, so he
had to do it. Brock does get in. I mean
the first time Brock scored in our stadium, his first
preseason game, we were playing I think the Packers, he
did the discount double check and we had no idea
he had.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
A personality like that.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
So I think he does do stuff on the field
a lot, just he does it subtly.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
So we love Bruck.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Have you taught him to jump pass touchdown?

Speaker 2 (05:07):
No, not at all.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
We give him crap for it a lot, but when
it works we call Michael Jordan's.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
So it was the hell of a deal today.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
You know you had one, have there?

Speaker 5 (05:16):
Remember ones?

Speaker 3 (05:17):
You're like, uh, you know, settled down that didn't work?

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Uh? Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
Always we like cleats in the ground and being able
to drive the ball like that, and but sometimes he's
got to. I mean, somebody's got to use another club.
And it's cool that he's got that one.

Speaker 4 (05:30):
The challenge on the kickoff, what it looked like pretty
clearly like he caught in.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
The end, So what were you thinking? Ah, I didn't
even see it.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Going off of other people not to throw anyone under
the bus, but I kind of just did.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
But the rule has changed. It's a little bit confusing.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Uh think that you needed you need both feet in
the end zone or it's a it's a minor touchback
which goes to the twenty instead of the thirty five.
And we didn't think he had both feet and the
zone when he did it, so, Uh, we were extremely
confident with it upstairs, and we'll find out tomorrow why
it didn't work.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
He's saying that he hasn't been driving the ball the
way he wanted to. Today looked like he did. Is
that what you saw from Rock the way through the ball?

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Yeah, I think yeah. I think he brought out a
hell of a game. I mean it's I I think
he's driven the ball in other games too. I think
you know when someone says that cause there's you know,
the picks that there's a couple of picksers Carolina where
he left it hanging too much. So there's a time
and place where you you wanna throw over people, and
there's a time and place where you need to drive
the ball cause there's no one to throw over. And
he found that balance very well to die is there

(06:33):
of the.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Uh injuries in any sense, whether Elliott's knee is serious
and whether Burger's is a is a high end.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Uh, We're not sure.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
I mean, Uh, Jordan's thing was totally random. It was
him just getting loose in the in the locker room
and just felt something in his knee, so uh that
that was a big deal. You know, it happened at
like eleven twenty, So that was really proud of Kevin.
You know, he's told last night he's not playing and
just hanging out locker room and all of a sudden
he's got to put his pads on I get ready
for an NFL game.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
So it was huge by him to step.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
It up and Spence, I mean usually when you hope
that I knew his ankle was bad early and the
sign that he came back and played the rest of
the game, you hope it's not high nkle sprained, But
we haven't ruled that out yet, so'll see tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
You guys are ten weeks.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
When do you start thinking about the number you need
to get to make sure you're in the playoffs?

Speaker 1 (07:24):
When that when the numbers right in front of us,
when we play a game, we can do the math
and it says, if you win this game, you're in.
If not, you don't really think about it.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
He's Kenny has fought through a lot of stuff this year.
But is he right now? For him anyway in good shape?
The way he plays, he gets beat up, I know,
but he's looking pretty good last couple weeks than he
was earlier.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
Yeah, we.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
JJ getting hurt, I want to say, verse Seattle and
then re injuring the next week. It wasn't about till
it was about two weeks ago that we felt JJ
was getting back to over his injuries and had got
enough weeks in a row where he got all the
stamma and everything back, and we feel like JJ has
really been JJ these last.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
Couple of weeks. And I looked like that today too.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Generally, okay, with some type window throws good? Are you
especially okay it with some type windows throws to Jawan?
You know those goal line passes were pretty tight coverage.
Is that something like? Okay, it's Juwan. It's a little
bit better when you do that.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
I mean, Juwan has earned that. Juwan does a good
job attacking the ball and everything like that. So When
receivers are that way, it gets the quarterback a lot
more confidence to throw tight windows. But I'm very okay
with tight windows. If you don't throw in tight windows,
you're not gonna score a lot of points. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:35):
On the drive at a halftime, it was a pretty
open window of rock pound pearsall on the crossing route
that looked like that pass had velocity on it. Was
that a similar route that Debo had last year against
the Rams money.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Dropped, No, it was a different one.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Ricky ran that same route earlier this year, I want
to say versus Jacksonville.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
But it was really good protection.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
It was a fake rollout and Ricky was able to
come across the green and awesome route by Ricky good throw.
Ricky was upset he didn't score. I told him he
had the excuse of the hurt inkle and inn though.
He'll get his speed back when he's feeling healthy. Any
pass for your birthday?

Speaker 2 (09:13):
What's that?

Speaker 5 (09:14):
Any plans for your birthday?

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Any playoffs? Oh? Plans probably go home and I have
a couple of drinks.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
That's I usually hate my birthday and not in general,
but on Sundays, haven't had a lot of success on it.
So it was nice to win a game on my
birthday and actually now I can maybe enjoy with my
family tonight.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Should take another another pass ride?

Speaker 2 (09:37):
No, if they got me one?

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Oh will I got They got me a vespa in
twenty fifteen and I tr The first time I wrote
it again after we moved Cleveland was in Los Gatos
and twenty twenty and I got pulled over because there
was a twenty fifteen license plateed on it, so he
got rid of it.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
So hopefully they got me one a day.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Birthday.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
All right, thanks, that's pretty good

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
