Speaker 1 (00:00):
That's up guys, all right?

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Injuries for the game. Brock Purty will be out, Trent
Williams questionable, Juwan Jennings questionable.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Go ahead, where's Trent that right now? I saw running
on the side. Is he did he progress throughout the
course of the week.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Yeah, he was out there today, got a practice with us.
That was good.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Trent.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
He got limited practice.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
He was out there for everything that says limited, but
I mean it's it went have speed, so he was
able to get through it.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
So are you confident that both the questionable guys will
be available?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Questionable?

Speaker 3 (00:37):
There's just playing surface factor into Trent's at all. And
what is the planet quarterback? To bring Adrian.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Martinez up on Saturday? Canes?

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Are you you know?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
How much can you do?

Speaker 3 (00:57):
How how comforable are you with him if he had
to come into the game.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
I mean he's been good these two weeks, learning both
these game plans. Today. I mean this week you got
the most reps that he's got, at least with the
scout team. We we're kind of everything with him after practice,
but nothing is we'd have to see him in the game.
I'm comfortable with him going and executing. I really liked
him here these first two weeks. If it comes to that,
we'll be ready to go, though, Like you have to

(01:24):
modify game plan at all. I mean, yeah, you got
to change a little bit when when he if he'd
have to go in. I mean, he's prepared for it all.
But all have an idea of the stuff he likes
more than others. We don't tell him him he's been
here two weeks, so he learns the game plan for
the week like everyone else. But you don't tell a
guy he just take these ten plays. You try to
tell him to learn the whole game plan. But I

(01:44):
always want to know what he's most comfortable with, and
hopefully we can stick with that if the game allows
us to.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Your mind, is Rocky at a point where he can
have the same kind of impact matter who quarterback, whether
it's problem.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
I mean, Ricky's are starting receiver, So like, I don't
you know when Ricky's gonna win his routes and do
his thing and hopefully the plays and the protection and
the coverages take him there. But you know how receiver
plays and stuff, I don't think really depends on the quarterback.
You know, some quarterbacks have an easier time, getting the
plays to the right spots and things like that. But

(02:18):
you know, Ricky is in a good spot with whoever's playing.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Had a lot of injuries in past a few seasons.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Do you start to feel like sometimes maybe your snake
bit I don't know. I think twenty three, I think
we were the healthiest team in football from what stats
have told me or people have told me. Last year
we weren't. This year hasn't been good so far, but
we'll see how it ends up.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Paniero was taking punt snaps. Was that just an emergency
thing or is there something with more stead?

Speaker 2 (02:48):
I didn't notice you got a good eye, So I'll
have to ask when I go in.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Go for the for the snapper.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Coach, how would you assess Max week of practice in
his preparation for this week?

Speaker 2 (03:02):
It's been awesome, the same this week because he's been
all camp. You know, our team really bleeds in him,
our team really enjoys him, and he did a whole
job this week in practice.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Spoken to Max like humor that part of his personality.
How would you describe him?

Speaker 2 (03:17):
I think Max really cool. I think he is funny.
I think of himself. My wife asked, he said he
must be real funny and have a sense of humor
because he saw his suit that he wore last week
to the game. So I don't think he's trying to
be funny. He's just got swag. So it's just him,
you know, Max himself makes guys laugh. He's got a
lot of energy, and I think our guys have really

(03:38):
enjoyed him so far.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
I think you think that helps with him cohesion?

Speaker 3 (03:43):
What's that?

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Do you think that helps with team cohesion helping getting him?

Speaker 2 (03:46):
You know kind of guys. Guys play hard for guys
that they like, that's for sure, and cohesion is great,
but it all comes down with guys in the long run,
just how you play too. But guys definitely enjoy playing
for a guy that they like more.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
Kendrick Warren picked up the playbook in a second go
around this week.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
I mean it's been a challenge with him just getting here,
like it would be for anybody who's new him Monday
compared to today, He's getting there and he's got another
day and a half to get there, and I think
it'll be good on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
It's an interesting case study. He was last year in
twenty twenty how much have things changed since then?

Speaker 2 (04:24):
For a good amount. I mean the basis of your
how your style of how our burbage works and stuff
is the same, but just words and everything that we've
added different types of motions, everything, and it's expanded a
lot in the last five years, like everyone does. And
and regardless when you go into another offense for that
long and still takes a lot of time for to
come back.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
How good you feel about Spencer Burford's progress as a
left tackle? If he was he would be needed good.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
I think Spence has done hell of a job for us,
whether it's at guard or tackle, making that changeful. He's
always been an emergency tackle since he's been here, but
getting all the reps there throughout OTA's and training can yup.
I think I think he's gotten better at it each day,
and I think he's made to play that position. You
can really play all of them, and if he's got
to go, he'll be ready.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Did you guys want to sign Mike White this week
but just couldn't because of you.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Know, definitely had to breed prepared for it. You'd love
to have some more guys up, You'd love to have
three guys on the roster, so you could have an
emergency guy like that, but we couldn't do that just
with our fifty three and stuff. So we're just doing
our due diligence and making sure people are ready. And
you know, he's got some history with people in our
building and some similar offenses and and he was out

(05:33):
there and available.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
A what app question for you before the draft? Was
there a scenario in your mind where the Saints take
Mike Keil Williams, you guys end up with Kelvin Banks.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
I mean, I don't like to get into who we
would have taken, but we definitely liked him a lot,
and it was awesome Longhorn, so got a soft spot
for that. And but it's you know, it could have
gone anyway, but he was definitely a guy that we
liked a lot.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Are you sure they thinking

Speaker 1 (06:03):
