Speaker 1 (00:05):
I loved that other thing that kept you really busy.
We were talking about it before the camera started rolling.
You've been in a ton of commercials. Can you tell
me about the latest one? Applebee's? Is that the most
fun shoot you've been on? I know you did the
John Deere as well.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Yeah, yeah, I mean John Deere, Toyota, Applebee's, ariet A
Bunch Drink or Recover one Ages to Sports Drink, so
I've done you know, a handful of them. But apple
Bee's was pretty fun, just because I was running around
like the restaurant, like clapping and throwing plates of food
and stuff. So it's pretty entertaining. And the thing like
how it's come out, you know, with Saquon Barkley and

(00:42):
Dan Campbell. I think it's been like a pretty funny
thing that we were all able to put together.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Were you guys all on set the same.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Day Saquan and I? Where Dan Campbell was there day before?

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Okay, his part was pretty funny.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Yeah, He's got like that deep voice and it like, yeah,
paired well with it.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
You've always been chill, like from day one of beating
you to now, So how do you flip the switch
and become this commercial actor.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Now, yeah, I mean it's I don't know, just with
the experience that I've had with it. Like I get
up on stage and I just try to envision like
what we're trying to shoot and how it's gonna come
out on.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
TV or whatever. So I just try to like get
into that role.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
And so over time it's been I've just tried to
have fun with it more than anything, and you know,
try to like do what they ask and be a
serious quarterback, but also like have.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Fun with it.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
And uh, I think they've they've turned out pretty good.
So it's been it's been fun doing it.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
In terms of you like nailing the lines. Are you
a one take wonder? Like what's your approach to like
making sure you're like ready to go on set.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
I sort of try to pride myself on like just
the one take, like that's it, because I mean my
job is literally studying plays, rattling off paragraph of plays
to guys in the huddle, breaking the huddle or whatever.
And so when I see a page of me like
smiling and saying this easy line, They're like, all right,
you can take as many tries as you want.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
I'm like, this, just take me like one time, like.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
I got this.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Yeah, So uh that part has been like challenging and
fun at the same time.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
So have you ever not been a one tape wonder?

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Yeah, there's uh I forgot what.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Maybe it was the John Deere commercial because Colt mckivitz
was killing it, like he was funny and yeah, he
was great and his lines were awesome and stuff. But
like for me in that commercial, in that commercial, I
was like, you know, trying to like envision how they
wanted me to say things, and Colton was like, dude,
like just do it like this. And so Colton was
was giving me some tips on that one.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
I was gonna say, was it helpful having him on
set or did he throw you off all of bit?

Speaker 3 (02:26):
I mean I think he helped.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
But at the same time, you know, Colton's like like
he'll get on you if you're messing up. He's like, dude,
you know, and that's just who he is, like in
a good funny way. So that was a blast, you know,
shooting that commercial up up there with him and the
John Deer tracker.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
You mentioned your partnering with Aria, which is a Bay
Area based boot company. So actually one of our co
workers in the marketing department wanted me to ask rounder
square tail?

Speaker 3 (02:49):
I guess, uh, square tail?

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Is there a particular reason, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
I think just the look, you know, growing up all
all my buddies and I and you know, high school
and college, like just square toe was was like.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Like the look to go with.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
So I don't have anything against people that have round tail,
but the square toe is what I've always worn and
I love them all.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Right, And so can we expect you in some boots
for a game day fit?

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Is that coming anytime soon?

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Well, yeah, I'll be walking in with some area boots
and jeans, and you know, it's what I've worn, you know,
like growing up and in college at Iowa State. So
you know, I think in the last couple of years,
you know, coming to the games and stuff, it's been
more about just you know, casual look and stuff. But
now I can you know, have a little personality with
you know, what I've always worn.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
So I'm sure you've heard the Coles cash right.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Yeah, oh yeah, I've heard it all the J C.
Penny all that stuff. But it's been funny so we
laugh about it and have fun with.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
The take it in stride. All right, so you're familiar
with this part of the podcast. Fan Questions faithful from
all over the country have sentence.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Stuff for you, so I'm just gonna fire them off
if you're ready. This is from Daniel.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Since you grew up a Dan Marino fan, what is
your favorite Dan Marino moment?

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Probably fake spike throw it for a back shoulder touchdown.
It's pretty It was a monumental play that everyone you
know sort of talks about. He got up there late
in the game and he fake spiked and threw a
touchdown instead. But and then also the way Dan Marino
would just backpedal. He would backpedal and like just throw
like a sixty yard bomb on a rope.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
It's pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
How much did I do try and incorporate into your game.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
I don't have the body for that like he had.
He was tall, strong arm and everything, and for me,
I'm like shorter. I have to do a lot more anticipating.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
So yeah, all right, So this one's from my from Michael.
Who is your favorite Mario Kart character and why?

Speaker 2 (04:38):
I don't know. If you're a big video game guy
Mario Kart, I would probably say.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Yoshi Yoshi was a good one.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
He always had like the tongue thing that he could like,
you know, hit like the carts in front of.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Him and stuff. But uh, Yoshi was always my go
to character.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
H Do you play video games at all or not
so much anymore?

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Not so much? But growing up?

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Yeah, okay, sweet, this one's from Zach. Obviously the Olympics
were going on this summer. What did you watch the
most of the Olympics?

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Honestly, like the table tennis, like ping pong. I like,
we'd get lunch in the cafeteria during camp and everybody's quiet,
like watching like the countries go at it in ping
pong and and the rallies and all and the serfs
like it was crazy. But uh, I mean, I'll watch
a bunch of other ones. But the table tennis is
pretty entertaining.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Is that the most obscure sport that you watched?

Speaker 3 (05:26):
I'd probably say so, yeah, that's grown up.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Like my brother and I woul play ping pong every
night after dinner and it would get so competitive, So like,
I like have a respect for people that are good
at ping pong.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
No, I actually think that that's one of the sports
that like really came up this Olympic or we got
popular at least here in the States.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
So is there an Olympic sport.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
That you think if you needed four four years to
get ready for the LA gave us, like aside from
flag football?

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (05:50):
What what? What could it be?

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Maybe like a high dive?

Speaker 2 (05:54):
I could probably like jump off a high dive.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Oh okay, that's a bold decision.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Four years of train for yeah maybe or.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
For gymnasts usually do that. Okay, that's cool, all right.
This one's from Luke.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
What is your favorite moment from last season and what
are you hoping to accomplish in twenty twenty four?

Speaker 2 (06:11):
My favorite moment, You know, there's a lot of great games,
but you know, being down seventeen, you know, with the
season on the line, and trying to go to the
Super Bowl and then coming back and you know, just
seeing I think we Christian had a great run towards
the end, and then we punched it in with Elijah Mitchell,
like to go up big in that game and you know,

(06:32):
take the knee and then celebrate with my teammates.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Man, that was a pretty special moment.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Knowing that we're going to Super Bowl and we came
back from our backs being against the wall, So that
was a great moment.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
And then for this year, like what I'm looking forward.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
To most, Yeah, I mean I think we know, but yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
I mean there's obviously a big goal and everything and
we all know what that is. But you know, I
think just enjoying every game with the team that we
have right now, enjoying the moments, the practices, the film,
the meetings, just being president. Man, I don't want to
miss out in life and just get to our end
goal so quickly. It's like, enjoy the process.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
And the faithful are very anxiously waiting for the start
of that.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
All right.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
So that is the end of our fan questions Faithful.
