Speaker 7 (01:00):
The film, you know, since all I hear is everyone
saying and this is a good thing that the Cardinals'
schedule release is fire. Well, we got to fight fire
with fire around here on the Big Red Rage presented
by santan Ford and Gilbert. Not only do we have
rocket Ship himself, Mac Wilson Senior. Okay, mister eighteen bars,
(01:23):
but we have the two mister twenty fours in recent
Cardinals history. Two guys, let's do the math here, have
taken the number to a combined nine Pro Bowls host
Ron Wolfley and former player host Adrian Wilson. An Omega
Mondo edition scheduled release edition of The Big Red Rage
presented by Santane Ford and Gilbert day Dove.
Speaker 8 (01:49):
What is going on? My brother? How can I just say?
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (01:53):
I just right now, Paul, I've got to say those quickly.
You know the fact I went to four Pro Bowls
that that was a big deal for me. And you
have to understand as an NFL player, if you get
one more than somebody else, you your four doesn't even count.
And this guy got five, He got five Pro Bowls
(02:17):
and he had to wear the same number.
Speaker 7 (02:18):
Paul, Well, you spoke it into existence. You're the one
who poked the bear. How many times did you taunt
and challenge Adub himself back in the day and you
go back into the cold tub time machine back when
he was player host.
Speaker 6 (02:30):
And used to say when you get four, come find
me right way too many times.
Speaker 8 (02:35):
Yeah, he got five. Yeah, I had to. We all,
we all, we all understand this dub looked a lot
better in his uniform than I did. All right, just saying, okay,
could have picked a different number.
Speaker 7 (02:50):
By the way, he still looks really good. You know
the rumors where you let yourself go, you know, you
had the beer gun and the whole thing, But no,
those are false and you're looking really good.
Speaker 6 (02:57):
Yeah, they were pretty false.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Fox.
Speaker 6 (03:01):
You know, we're not going to talk about the man
that the goat. Oh my goodness that No, I don't
know number one one.
Speaker 7 (03:08):
You know, he already took a shot at Larry's ok
during pat Peace presscofference.
Speaker 6 (03:12):
As long as he knows that, I'm going to ever
talk about him, because he's not going to be able
to fit into that Hall of Fame jacket.
Speaker 8 (03:19):
All right. Just for the record, though, right here, what
twenty pounds did you lose? Twenty?
Speaker 6 (03:24):
I lost probably about twenty five five to thirty Yeah, yeah, man, I.
Speaker 8 (03:29):
Mean, how did you do it?
Speaker 6 (03:30):
Dolls?
Speaker 8 (03:34):
I know there's no way he did that.
Speaker 7 (03:35):
It's real. Simply he stopped living in the weight room
that he said, that's what he stopped doing.
Speaker 6 (03:40):
I actually like buying clothes off the wreck. Now yeah, okay, no,
it's a lot less expissive.
Speaker 7 (03:46):
All right, So look, if there's that time in every
off season, Okay, there's different markers of an off season.
We had schedule release. The NFL has now turned it
into a week long event. It's a three hour prime
time TV show. It's remarkable. The TV ratings have never
been better. I heard one of the TV suits saying,
you know what, in this fragmented universe of TV, you know,
(04:08):
programming and streaming football is the one thing that brings
everyone together. It's how the advertisers, how the networks know
they're going to get big ratings. So this is a
big deal. We're going to go through it. It's the
genesis of eighteen bars and Mac Wilson Senior himself right,
the inspiration for the song. But we'll go through all
this and then he's going to back clean up. At
(04:28):
the end of the show, segment four, we're gonna hear
from Mac Wilson Senior himself and we'll hear his brand
new song and original production. When you guys, look, well,
if when you used to pick up a you know
the schedule every year, right, I don't know they used
to send it out via you know, snail mail or
whatever it was back in the day, boom, you'd look
at it. What would you look at first?
Speaker 8 (04:46):
You know, the first thing I'd look at is where
the buye is, Polly, where is the buye? Yeah, I
wanted it right in the middle. That's where I thought,
you know, that'd be a good place to stick it,
right in the middle of the season. So that what
was the first thing that I would do. And then
the second thing I would look for is where is
the suck buttermilk part of the schedule? Where is it
(05:08):
going to be really really nasty? And that took a
little time to decipher, of course, But I don't know
about you, dub, How did you feel about that when
you got the schedule? What did you look for first?
Speaker 6 (05:20):
Yeah, back in my time two thousand and one, not
nineteen eighty three or anything like that, it was eight
five message pissinger. You just got to clap a man
and stuff. So you know, the first thing I probably
looked at was week one, just seeing whether we playing
away or at home. You know, who the quarterback may be,
(05:40):
who the quarterback may not be. You always want to
think about crowd noise, all those sorts of things really
going to week one, and again, just like you said
the bye week, you definitely want to see where your
bye week is and you just kind of adjust just
from there.
Speaker 7 (05:54):
All right, So, am I out of line over here
at poly Pencil Neck if I say week one is
kind of an extension of the preseason, and I think
the Saints are that bad, We'll see about week one
and then by the time you get to week three,
the forty nine ers. Nobody has won more games of
Levi Stadium than the Arizona Cardinals. I always marked that
down as a home game. I did last year the
Cardinals won again in Santa Clara. But let's just start
(06:14):
at the very beginning, because one of the things I
cited Dub was, you know what, if you can play
some of these inexperienced quarterbacks early, that goes a long way.
And whether it's Spencer Ratler or Tyler Shuck, a couple
of Valley kids. I mean, New Orleans is going to
have and a first time head coach in Kellen Moore,
what do you see there?
Speaker 8 (06:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (06:33):
Again, I think when you look at the Arizona Cardinals
and you look at what they did in the second
half of the season last year and how they finished.
Not only did they finish, you know, finished strong defensively,
but in terms of winning ball games in the second
half of the season. This schedule, I think it sets
up very very well for them. For them, I think
early on you want to really try to get wins
(06:53):
and try to get into a rhythm because you are
playing a bunch of really either first year head coaches
or you're playing young in the spence quarterbacks.
Speaker 8 (07:01):
You know. For me, Paully, it just hit the New
Orlands Saints, I think that is an excellent place to start.
It really is, because for me, I want if I
were a head coach, I want my team in training
camp looking at hey, we're going on the road. I
used to love that playing away, We're going to a
distant village, we were going to a hostile environment. You
(07:21):
better be ready. Would help focus the team overall. And
not only that too. I think that is going to
be a bloodbath right there, Okay. And the reason why
I say that metaphorically speaking is the fact that the
New Orleans Saints were number thirty one in rushing yards
per game allowed and number thirty one in rushing yards
per play allowed. You put those two things together and
guess what. Here we go James Connor. How many times
(07:44):
can we run James Connor straight through the middle in
between those tackles? How many times can we attack the
line of scrimmage? We'll find out.
Speaker 7 (07:53):
You know who is thirty second in rush defense would
be your opponent in week two, the Carolina Panthers, who
had the worst defense points per game as well. But
there's no chance of a letdown game in the home opener. A.
It's your home opener, and b Wolf we were there.
Cardinals lost an overtime game at Carolina a year ago.
So I think the Panthers and Bryce Young will get
the Cardinals attention.
Speaker 8 (08:13):
Yeah, I do too.
Speaker 6 (08:14):
You know what I think when you really look at
this thing and you really break it down, you know,
if the Arizona Carters can start to sting off fast
and strong, I really do think by the time they
get to the bye week, they'll be in a pretty
good position because when you look at the second half
of that schedule there is pretty pretty rough. Pretty rough, yeah,
(08:36):
could be pretty rough.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
You know.
Speaker 8 (08:38):
For me, once again, I love this guys, because the
first two weeks of the season again, one away against
the Saints. Somebody get me the gumbo, please, Paul, maybe
you could bring some gumbo home from there, okay, And
then of course the Carolina Panthers at home. I do
think that plays into the strengths of the Arizona Cardinals.
They could start the season two and ozer. I think
(09:00):
this team is a team that is going to need
a little bit of confidence going forward. Yeah, they won
four more games last year than they did the year
before that, but I think coming into this season, this
is a prove it year, and I think you have
to talk about that up here. You have to talk
about it on a strategic level all of training camp
going into the season. Hey, this is our opportunity right
(09:25):
here to actually take that next step early on. I
think it's going to be important they win games.
Speaker 7 (09:31):
Week three at the forty nine ers for the Cardinals,
and somehow the forty nine ers got five primetime games.
I have no idea. But not only do they have
the easiest schedule in the NFL this year, they have
the easiest schedule by the numbers since twenty fifteen. So
for that reason, they're a slight betting favorite to win
the NFC West In Vegas right now, that's remarkable. Thursday
night game at home against Seattle dub How big a
(09:53):
deal is it? Just you have a Thursday night game
and it's at home. You don't have to go.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
On the road.
Speaker 6 (09:57):
Yeah, that's so big. Thres are night games suck. Let's
just be completely honest, like they suck. You don't have
time to prepare. There's not a lot of practice time.
But just being able to get Sam Donald at home
on a Thursday night, short week, it could be good
for the Cardinals.
Speaker 8 (10:14):
I'm looking at five and one. Well, I'm looking at
it right now just if you just guessed. Not a prediction,
but I think they could be five and one.
Speaker 7 (10:23):
Well, they get cam Ward in Tennessee. That'll be at
home in week five, and then they go to Indianapolis.
That's Jonathan Gannon against Shane Steike and two really close
friends right there from their Philadelphia days. That'll be very interesting.
Whether it's Anthony Richardson, is it Daniel Jones once again,
all of those quarterbacks right there that the Cardinal's gonna
see save San Francisco and Brock Party don't even know
(10:46):
about whether Sam Darnald mayb even be Jalen Milroe by
week four in Seattle, who Knows will continue with the schedule.
It is the Big Red Rage presented by Santan Ford
to Gilbert, Adrian Wilson and Mac Wilson Senior. Our guest,
what's so funny?
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Adop just came up behind you. I just cave the
beast bold. Oh baby, got me all jack off. That
mother's ready to go. Right there, ladies and gentlemen, I mean,
I feel you, bro. Yeah, A dump's over there going
on and the poop next to us. How awesome is that?
(11:23):
Dude's a scout. He's feeling it.
Speaker 5 (11:26):
The blood is on the boil here tonight. His sport
jacket fits like a glove. I think probably costs more
in your car. And he's about to rip that thing
in half though.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
He goes hulk mode on you, and then he sits
down with and he's popcorn.
Speaker 7 (11:43):
I tell you that's so good Man ashing Wolf painting
a picture goes beyond just the field, it goes to
the stadium. And their next door neighbor was one Adrian Wilson.
Who what were you doing here? That's before you left
the weight room. You were still pumping e her.
Speaker 6 (11:56):
Yeah, I get a little I get a little fired up.
Now I get a little fired up.
Speaker 7 (11:59):
Now, you know what was that one rival? Every year
you got the most fired up for, you got that extra,
super extra look in your eye.
Speaker 6 (12:07):
I would probably say maybe maybe the Rams. And the
only reason why I say that is it's an old
draft story. Okay, two thousand and one, Okay, the Saint
Louis Rams. They have three first round draft picks, three
and three. Now, if anybody remembers this, I think Aniyas
Williams ended up getting traded from Arizona to Saint Louis.
(12:32):
They end up getting an extra draft pick somewhere along
the line. I wouldn't say. It might have been second
or third round somewhere around that time. So during the
whole pre draft process, I'm like, I'm like, there's no doubt,
Like I'm going I'm going to Saint Louis. Like I
took a trip up there like four times. So I'm
like I'm definitely like, like this is happening, right, Okay, Well,
(12:54):
first ten picks goes by Rams, got a fifteenth pick
or something like that. I'm like, Okay, I know I'm
not going fifteen. I'm like I know I'm not going. Okay,
so I don't go fifteen twenty something, come twenty one,
twenty two or something like that. It comes up, my
name doesn't get caught. It was like Adam Archalette. I'm like,
who was that ASU guy?
Speaker 2 (13:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (13:12):
Oh yeah, oh oh yeah, I'm workout yep that guy.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (13:18):
So next thing, you know, they get like I want
to say, it was like the last pick in the
first round and no call, and I'm like, oh so
at this point, I'm sorry, sorry yeh. So I end
up basically obviously going to Arizona, which I was ecstatic about.
But ever since that day, I just dreamed about playing
(13:41):
the Rams and just I'm talking about crushing them every
time I played, every time.
Speaker 7 (13:47):
Soul Wolf, I don't know if it was the Cowboys
for you someone in the division, right, had it have been?
Speaker 9 (13:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (13:52):
No, it was you nailed the bully right there.
Speaker 6 (13:54):
The Star.
Speaker 8 (13:55):
Oh I hated the Star. I think most players did
that didn't play for the Dallas Cowboys. You could not
stand the Star because back then when I was playing,
of course they were America's team.
Speaker 7 (14:07):
Oh yeah, and look we'll get to the Cowboys here
in a minute. On Monday, night. But we're picking up
where we left off and the Cardinals schedule twenty twenty five.
Mac Wilson Senior will join us at the very end
of the show. We'll have an extended conversation with rocket
Ship himself and his schedule, release song and video. But
green Bay to me, well, if you of you surped
your own process and you've already predicted the Cardinals, you
(14:28):
expect them to start five to one based on the schedule. Yeah,
now you get green Bay at home, and let's face it,
that was a litmus test for the Cardinals last year.
They went to Lambeau and that was a one sided,
lopsided game. So to me, this year against I mean
that team, that quarterback, that defense, and that head coach
and play caller, that's going to be a big deal
(14:48):
in a big test for the Cardinals.
Speaker 8 (14:49):
Yeah, Pauli and Jordan Love just got better as a
season unfolded with the Green Bay Packers once again. And
you know, it's interesting because if you look at the Packers,
they might be the best team that the Arizona Cardinals
are gonna play on their schedule right here. They were
eleven and six. Of course, last year on their offense
was really really good. They're very balanced as well. They
(15:11):
can run the ball, they throw the ball, they do
a good job scoring points. So I look at that
and I think that is gonna be a tough game
for the Arizona Cardinals, especially with a bye week after it.
Speaker 7 (15:22):
Yeah, they won eleven games, finished third in their own
division a year ago. All right, So a bye week
and not only a bye week, doube, but then you
play a Monday night game.
Speaker 6 (15:30):
Yeah it is you know when I look at this thing,
you look at before the buye and after the buy
who you play? Yeah, and you play Green Bay week seven.
You have the buye in week eight, and then you
have the Cowboys on Monday night at Dallas, right, And
then you look at the schedule after that, you have
six NFC games, six.
Speaker 7 (15:53):
Including two division games you get at Seattle and the
forty nine ers again at home.
Speaker 6 (15:58):
I mean, it is you talking about time to be
positioning yourselves for the playoffs. Yeah, that's exactly what that
stretch is. No, that is an excellent observation right there
by you. I'm kind of shocked that you made that observation.
As a man, I can't read it. But having said
that right now? Did you like the buy? Were you
one of these guys who liked the bye?
Speaker 8 (16:16):
Did you? I couldn't stand the bye? What about you?
I needed it?
Speaker 6 (16:21):
I think, I think from a mental standpoint and just
being able to reset. I don't know if you guys
did that back in the day. I don't know if
you guys reset.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
I think.
Speaker 6 (16:31):
I like to reset. I like to really see what's
after the buy, what I need to do to prepare myself,
prepare my body mentally, all these things. And from a
leadership standpoint, okay, you need a break as a leader,
like you just need to really just take us.
Speaker 8 (16:46):
Did you go anywhere in the bike?
Speaker 6 (16:47):
I was out of here?
Speaker 8 (16:48):
You were you were gone gone?
Speaker 2 (16:50):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (16:51):
I took the kids out of school for a week.
We're out of here. Okay?
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Yeah, all right.
Speaker 7 (16:55):
So look, you get Dallas on the Monday night, and
then you get the Seahawks in the forty nine ers.
You still haven't seen the Rams at this point. We'll
get to the Rams a little bit, and then Jacksonville intriguing,
I mean not only a first time head coach and
thirty nine year old Liam Cohen, but then you're gonna
get first time coordinators, a couple of young guys, Trevor Lawrence,
Travis Hunter, what is his playing time going to be?
(17:15):
Like which side of the ball and how much? And
then you know, if you want to talk about Cardinals history,
Travis Hunter, maybe Roy Jetstream Green. You know, they have
a photo op before the game as guys who have
played both sides of the ball. But that Week twelve
game against Jacksonville, I mean, Wolf, at that point in
the season, after the teams you have played, I'm guessing
that's got about as close to a must win as
you're gonna have, especially considering Jacksonville went one in eight
(17:37):
on the road.
Speaker 8 (17:37):
Yes, Pauli, once again, yes, that that is going to
be a must win situation, I would imagine at this point,
especially because you know what's coming the last six weeks
of the season. That's gonna be the suck buttermilk part
of the schedule for the Arizona Cardinals. That last six games,
very very tough situation. Yeah, Jacksonville, I look at that, Pauli.
(18:00):
At the same time, I think overall, for the most part,
you look at the Seattle Seahawks and then the San
Francisco forty nine ers, the Seahawks game of course up
in Seattle, and then you've got the forty nine Ers
at home. I think the Arizona Cardinals. I think it's
imperative they split at least split with every team in
(18:20):
their division, all right, So to me, the Rams, of course,
the Seahawks and the forty nine Ers, I'd like to
see that split, whether it's home and away, whatever it
may be, I don't know, but I can tell you
this right now. I think it's really important that the
Cardinals win this division. And I think ten and seven
(18:40):
could do it. And I think the Cardinals could be
on their way after these six games in the middle
of the season.
Speaker 7 (18:46):
You know, it's interesting. Seattle is going to travel the
third most miles of any team with six cross country
trips this year.
Speaker 8 (18:54):
Wow.
Speaker 7 (18:54):
The Rams are going to be number two and miles
flown this year and they're going to cross an NFL
high four time zones.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
Wow.
Speaker 7 (19:01):
That sounds like a lot. How big a deal is
that when you're a player, I don't you know what.
It's more mental than anything. I mean, do you think
it can get? And like, man, we're traveling a lot,
we're number two in miles.
Speaker 6 (19:13):
I do think it plays like tricks on your psyche,
you know. I think at the end of the day, though,
I really do think that it's owned the coaches to
call aggressively early to get guys going, to get just
get the energy up, to get the flow of the
game going, you know, playing at ten am, playing at
eleven am, whatever it is, whether you're you know, Midwest
(19:34):
or back East, those games do technically they start early
for obviously us, but for those guys like it's just
normal operation for them. So I think for us, it's
about the coaches being aggressive, just getting the players to
understand it's in the aggressive mindset.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
You know.
Speaker 8 (19:51):
For me, PAULI just jumping into what Ad just said
right there. For me, it is it definitely has an
impact on your body when you play those early games.
I think it really does. I just don't want to
hear about it, you know what I mean. Don't be
talking about it. I don't want to hear about it.
It's an excuse. It's built in immediately. Oh it's an
(20:12):
early start for our body. We're out there playing at
ten o'clock. I don't want to hear about it. And
I think that is leadership.
Speaker 7 (20:20):
Here's my other question as a guy played on the
defensive side of the ball, when you look at a schedule,
how quickly do you look at the quarterbacks you're going against.
Speaker 6 (20:28):
H immediately because you want to get off to a
hot start, especially defensively. You want to make sure that
you know you have all the things that you need
to have, all the t's crossed and i's dotted going
into every single game when you're playing young quarterbacks, because
if you don't do that later on in the season,
those things are going to creep back up in some
form or fashion, and you're gonna be saying those things
(20:49):
all year.
Speaker 7 (20:50):
Well, we're through week twelve, and the Cardinals schedule gets
really tough, not only teams of home and away, but
against some of the quarterbacks they're going to face on
the stretch as well. By the way, single game tickets
on sale via siki. Go to Azycardinals dot com slash tickets,

(21:12):
Packages are gonna include transportation, hotel, accommodations, pregame, tailgate experience,
game tickets, and more. For all the details, go to
azycardstravel dot comas cardstravel dot com. We continue. We have
Adrian Wilson Mac Wilson Senior coming our way on the
big red rage.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
Bulcher will drop the throw. Here comes Wilson's sexim at
the twelve yard line and Vulture is hurt.
Speaker 5 (21:38):
Boom.
Speaker 10 (21:38):
Here he comes, unblocked, untouched.
Speaker 4 (21:42):
Runs and he has sacked back at the twenty seven
yard line. Adrian Wilson Martin is holding his right elbow
as he gets up.
Speaker 10 (21:49):
One minute, you know, your brave heart storming the battlefield
on your white stage, and you know the next thing,
you know, one helmet later, your little jack horner and
you're eating a Christmas pot. I think on that last
play Jamie Martin was eating some Christmas pok.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
Jackson gets the ball and Adrine Wilson comes into the
backfield and brings him down to the forty four.
Speaker 10 (22:08):
You know, some dogs like the bark on the porch.
Some dogs like to fight on the street. And I
gotta believe Adriene Wilson is one of those guys that
for first pavement over porches.
Speaker 7 (22:20):
I don't think I've heard that one before. Well, I
would you say that Adriane Wilson more than any other player.
Really was sort of a muse for you. You came
up with better analogies when it came to Adam, and
I think any other player play for play.
Speaker 8 (22:33):
The gas man, unbelieve, That's what I like to call it.
Explosions happened on the field wherever Adub went. And you
know this, Polly, but quarterbacks opposing quarterbacks. You had to
find twenty four. Oh yeah, you had to find him
and know where he was.
Speaker 6 (22:51):
See, he really wants my heart to hear. We'll say
that it's the truth. It just really it is. Don't
let it go to your head.
Speaker 7 (22:58):
It took ten years of retirement in your name up
in the Ring of Honor, but it finally happened. Here
we goes so, yes, Adrian Wilson is our special guest,
Mac Wilson Senior coming our way here. Shortly, we can
continue with this schedule release edition of The Big Red Rage,
presented by santan Ford and Gilbert. All right, we'll get
to the rams in a minute. Tampa Week thirteen, that's
where we left off. Cardinal's going on the road. There's
(23:20):
one sideline reporter who's very happy about going to Tampa
November thirtieth instead of sometime in September. I'll just say
that because really there's only two kinds of games in
the NFL. When you're the sideline guy, there's roof or
no roof, and when there's no roof releases a good
time of year, Tampa. But you know what we love
about this one, at least I do dub is that
Kyler against Baker Mayfield. Oh, it is like so on,
(23:41):
it's the game within the game, and Kyler's undefeated against
Baker in the NFL.
Speaker 6 (23:45):
Yeah, it's always a good time seeing those two going
at it. You know, two Oklahoma guys. You know, both
guys can really spend the football. And I'm looking forward
to it, you know, I know Todd Bowles is going
to throw out some exotic blitzes and all those sorts
of things. So it's going to be a very very
good contest. But looking forward to the two quarterbacks for sure.
Speaker 7 (24:02):
What stands out when you think of Todd bowleswolf, when
you think of Tampa obviously the class of that division
NFC South, What do you think about that game?
Speaker 2 (24:09):
That challenge?
Speaker 8 (24:10):
You know, for me, Paul, I look at it and
I think of Todd Bowles immediately, as a dub points out,
this is a guy that loves physicality as well. He
coaches physicality on both sides of the ball. This is
going to be a line of scrimmage game. Even though
you've got some great talent out of the perimeter, great
skill of course, on both sides of the ball. I
think this is still going to be a line of
(24:32):
scrimmage game right here. The Buccaneers ten and seven last season,
Baker Mayfield really took a massive step forward as far
as I'm concerned. I could see. I could see this
game being one of the more physical games of the
season for the Arizona Cardinals. In I think it's winnable.
Speaker 7 (24:52):
You know, there are likes and dislikes with any schedule.
Maybe my primary dislike would be having to play the
Rams at the end of the season instead to the
beginning of the season. Last two years, the Rams have
started one in four, three, and six, and then they've
gone on a tear to in each of the last
two years. So there they are. You're gonna have them
at home week fourteen. What is it about Sean McVeigh
(25:12):
where he gets his teams dialed in?
Speaker 2 (25:13):
Dog I don't.
Speaker 6 (25:15):
I'm with you, Paul, I don't. I don't like the
fact that they have to play the Rams really four
weeks apart, you know, and you know Sean and Vay
once he gets settled into his offensive game plan throughout
the year, they're hard to deal with. I mean, they
are a hard team to deal with offensively, especially when
the rhythm gets going.
Speaker 8 (25:34):
You know, for me too, the Rams, it's changed so much.
It's not just Matthew Stafford. Matthew Stafford, it really isn't.
They run the ball so well with Kyrad Williams. Of course,
they run the ball. There are a much more physical
team than they have been in the past, the Rams,
and now this young defense. You give me that young defense.
(25:57):
You've got these young guys, it is amazing, especially how
young they are in the box of course. And now
you give me an experienced quarterback like Matthew Stafford. With
that young defense, I think the Rams are the team
to beat in this division. And we're not even talking
about DeVante Adams.
Speaker 7 (26:14):
I know they have two receivers now, two big, physical,
playmaking receivers, Puka Nicua DeVante Adams.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (26:20):
Yeah, and there's a reason why the Cardinals have drafted
seven corners in the last three drafts, you know, I
mean honestly, and Will Johnson could be a big part
of the game plan and that one, especially by the
time you get to week fourteen. All right at Houston,
w you spent a lot of time around Houston these days.
Speaker 8 (26:36):
C J.
Speaker 7 (26:37):
Stroud and the Texans, I know they've tried to build
from the inside out this offseason. But man, we saw
c J. Stroud two years ago. He's the real deal.
Speaker 8 (26:43):
Yeah he is.
Speaker 6 (26:44):
And you know what, this team is very again another physical,
physical contents and that's three, that's three in a row there.
So again, you got to you gotta bring your lunchpell
your hardhat and go on to Houston. That game is
going to be very, very exciting. Thin CJ. Strau is
amazing quarterback. But again, the Houston Texas offensive line have
(27:05):
always been a problem for the past couple of years
and it's probably gonna be a problem again this year,
and hopefully the Cardinals can take advantage of it.
Speaker 7 (27:11):
Here's what I don't get. How does Atlanta get five
primetime games? They haven't made the playoffs since twenty seventeen.
They got an international game as well.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
Bizarre.
Speaker 7 (27:21):
I just and there they are. They're gonna be at home,
Cardinals against the Falcons, and you know, Wolf, I mean,
they have some talent. They definitely have some weapons. They
went after two edge rushers in round one. I don't
know what sort of challenge you think Atlanta's going to be.
Are they a breakout team this year? And I'm missing it?
Speaker 8 (27:35):
I'm sorry, Paulie. I don't think so. I don't think so.
As a matter of fact, I think especially at home
Week sixteen, that is a very winnable game for the
Arizona Cardinals. I'm putting that in the win column.
Speaker 11 (27:47):
Now.
Speaker 8 (27:47):
Once again, that's just a guess. And we all understand that,
especially in the National Football League, it is a year
to year proposition for the most part. Would you agree
with that, adult, I really do agree. And it's not
really when you play these teams, it's how the teams
are playing when you play exactly.
Speaker 6 (28:05):
You know, that's that's kind of you know how I've
always kind of looked at the schedule. Who's going to
be hot, who's not going to be hot, or you
gonna be playing well as a team. It's a defense
gonna be playing well at offense, Like, there's a lot
of things that go into it. But I'm kind of
with you, woof, I do think this is a winnable contest.
December twenty first is four days before Christmas, so you
know there's some there's some distraction there.
Speaker 8 (28:26):
Yeah, you know, for me, I look at the last
two games as well, Pauli at Cincinnati of course, and
at LA the Rams. To your point, oh, do we
have to finish with the Rams once again? Now, that
is going to be a very very physical game if
there is anything at stake when they play them in January,
that's going to be very interesting to watch. But the
(28:48):
Bengals on the road.
Speaker 7 (28:51):
Okay, the way they have finished the last two years.
Speaker 8 (28:54):
The way they have finished. We all know they have
a hard time starting seasons for the most part, but
the way they they have finished, and then of course
just the fact that it's Joe Burrow.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (29:05):
Last year, last year they started one and four a
little swag. Though they won their final five and twenty three.
They started one in three. In fact, Zach Taylor in
the first month of the season as head coach of
the Bengals seven to fourteen and one. So again, when
you talk about likes and dislikes playing Cincinnati, but hey,
if you want to earn your way into the postseason,
I mean, those are two games that will get you
(29:26):
playoff ready. If you go into Cincinnati and win, you
go to LA and you were this close to beating
the Rams on the road last week in week seventeen,
and that's thinking deflection off the helmet of Trey McBride.
Otherwise you might have had them. So it's not like
the Cardinals are that far away or it's you know,
it's inconceivable they win those games. But those two challenges
will get you playoff ready.
Speaker 6 (29:47):
Yeah, it will, you know what. Another thing, but this
is both these games, those coaching staffs are very very similar,
so when you're going into it defensively, both of those
teams come from the same branch, So defensively you may
have your time preparing for for both those teams.
Speaker 8 (30:02):
Paully, I think ten wins is doable for the Arizona
Cardinals next year.
Speaker 7 (30:06):
Ten wins and four your last six on the road.
All Right, weal, if there's only so many chairs in
this studio, there's really only so much room for so
many twenty fours in this studio. So you know what,
we're gonna set you free. We're gonna have rocket Ship himself.
Mac Wilson Senior will join us when we come back
on the Big Red Rage presented Ice santan Ford in Gilbert.
Speaker 11 (30:29):
Coach always say you never put yourself over to ten
some of the best in the league. We got a
Greek skinning Greeks hain't five herd, and know you wouldn't
nothing to see you gonna get him. I only hit
him hard like them two weeks we got the season.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
Nothing at home. We gonna end it here too. We
get end in on the road. I believe in my
crew even through the storm.
Speaker 11 (30:46):
We're gonna stay two, stay the rocket ship taking out
at three two, one, two three, knock him down, four,
five and six in and out seventh, Hey nine, tap out.
You wonder what the hype out and then come around
and find out one two three knocking down.
Speaker 7 (31:02):
Now, normally, normally we'd be playing highlights from mac Wilson
Senior right Sachs TfL's big hits. We've got a big
hit of another kind. Eighteen bars. Forget about the Minecraft
and the Mario Kart. We're talking about serious art here.
(31:23):
From the recording studio into the radio studio. Mac Wilson
Senior here on the Big Red Rage presented by Santan
Ford and Gilbert Paul calvic Here Adrian Wilson There w
Cardinals first NFL team to upload a song onto Spotify,
Apple Music, all because of Mac Wilson Senior in eighteen bars.
And I know you've already been enjoying it, right, Adrian Wilson.
Speaker 6 (31:44):
Look that things slap slap bad. He got a hit
right there, man, he got a hit. I love it, Yes, sir,
I love it.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
Appreciate it.
Speaker 7 (31:53):
Congratulations. I can't tell you how I lost count of
how many fire emojis I've seen in response to it.
So how proud are you of that effort?
Speaker 2 (32:01):
Now? I'm super proud. Honestly.
Speaker 9 (32:03):
I put a lot of time into just trying to
write it and trying to put everything together. Obviously, we
got eighteen opponents. I was trying to hit all the opponents.
I was trying to hit if we had an overseas game,
I was trying to make sure I hit back to
back road games, like back to back games at home.
I was trying to hit every scenario. So it was
kind of tough to kind of try to put everything together,
(32:25):
but I got it done, though I.
Speaker 7 (32:26):
Can't wrap a Christmas gift. So tell me about the
process over here. Okay, I don't know anything about the process.
All I'm saying is I know there's a lot of
athletes that try to wrap and some of it is bad.
You know, let's just be yeah, sure, this is not bad.
It's pretty damn good now, and that's why the reaction
has been extraordinary. But in terms of the process, do
(32:48):
you write the lyrics first or do you let the
music inspire the lyrics.
Speaker 9 (32:52):
So when when they first asked me, I was like,
can you guys send me like an instrumental so I
know what I'm writing to And I think it took
a little time for them to send the beat, and
I was so antsy about it, so I kind of
just started writing without the beat and was just kind
of like hoping that the lyrics can match the beat.
And once they played the beat, the lyrics kind of
just started flowing out and it matched perfectly.
Speaker 7 (33:14):
So you've been freestyling since you were a kid, Is
that what I heard you say?
Speaker 9 (33:17):
Yeah? Yeah, I always freestyle as a kid, like junior
high high school, just beating on the table, freestyle and
making like rapping and just trying to rhyme and stuff
like that. So it's something that I just do, like
even in family functions and stuff too, just having like
a mic at home, singing on the mic or getting
the mic rapp into a beat or something like that.
Speaker 6 (33:35):
You have a musical family, like your family musical or.
Speaker 9 (33:38):
Nah, Honestly, just my brother on my dad's side, he's
an artist from Detroit, Orlando low real name Orlando Fights.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
He's an artist.
Speaker 9 (33:46):
But other than that, on my mom's side, my other brother, Wendell,
Wendell Wilson, he rap as well. But they the only
two that rapp. But so it's not a not a
big like music music fan.
Speaker 7 (33:57):
How cool was it to get your teammates involved into
the video?
Speaker 9 (34:00):
Nah, it was super cool honestly, just just knowing that
they got my back and just that support, you know,
it just it meant a lot to me, honestly because
you never know, you know, who would want to want
to do stuff like that, But just for them to
show that genuine love and do it, it meant a
lot to me.
Speaker 7 (34:14):
So when you got the offer or at least the idea.
Was it a slam dunk for you?
Speaker 9 (34:18):
Or did you have to think about it a little
bit when they when they send it to me, I
kind of responded without thinking about it. I was like, yeah,
I agree, without kind of thinking about everything that was
going to go into it, because obviously I had Jesse
and ZP last year who kind of helped me get
it into rapping. And you know, we had our little
third and Go group last year where we was making
songs together. So I kind of didn't feel whole without
(34:39):
having both of them.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
Do it with me. And they was.
Speaker 9 (34:42):
They kind of motivated me and was like do it, bro,
like you got it, You'll be good and yeah. Ever
since they told me that, I was like, all right, cool,
I got it. And I went from there.
Speaker 6 (34:51):
Who's the best out of y'all?
Speaker 10 (34:52):
Three?
Speaker 2 (34:55):
Beyond?
Speaker 9 (34:56):
We all nice in our own way. I would say
like I'm nice, like I'm breaking down for us, breaking
down for us, I would say, I'm super versatile. I
feel like I can't sing at all, but I can harmonize,
like I just I feel like I can rap on
any beat.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
Jesse can rap on any beat. But Jesse's the he seems.
Speaker 9 (35:14):
But just know Jesse got the vocals, do we Jesse
got the vocals, he got the Jesse got the vibe.
Jesse got the vocals, Jesse got, he got the tone,
he got the and ZP come with the energy. I
think he got the energy on every track. He got
the lyrics, he got the cool sayings as well, like
us three together just a perfect mix, if that makes sense,
Like we got it, we got it like some I
(35:34):
think we got one song that's really that really cool.
It's a it's a rap song, but they give like
a laid back vibe though that I think is really cool.
Speaker 7 (35:42):
Mac Wilson Senior. I guess in the Big Red Rage
aka rocket Ship in this context here, dub uh And
you're smiling as you're talking about all that, So I
mean you obviously enjoy.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
It, right, yes, sir, Yeah, I enjoy everything I do, man.
Speaker 7 (35:55):
I mean the fact you have it. You had another
song come out, tell us about that one, and then
there's a third one.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
You have to be released. Yeah, definitely.
Speaker 9 (36:03):
Honestly, I didn't even know that I was gonna have
to do two other songs when I got there to
the studio thing that I told him, like I'm here
to beat, and you know, they played the beat and
I was like, all right, cool. I kind of started
rapping my stuff to make sure like it matches together
and it did. So once I finished that song, they
was like, all right, you got another one in you, Like,
(36:24):
I just spent like an hour fifteen on this one
something like another song.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
Like I'm like, all right, cool, run it. I'm like,
let me hear the beat.
Speaker 9 (36:31):
So then they played the beat to the second one
and I just kind of started writing on the spot
and it took me like forty minutes to finish that one.
So I kind of finished two songs the first day,
which was eighteen bars one of one, and then the
next day I came back after we finished up for
the day and recorded a to z which was from
scratch as well.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
I didn't I recorded that one in the studio.
Speaker 6 (36:51):
Wow, that's that's pretty fascinating, because really, when you think
of this and you think of music, obviously he got
put on the spot. You think of fourth and one,
two minutes left in the game, and you got to
get a stop. You know what's harder in the studio
hearing the beat or fourth and one two minutes left
to go, and you got to make that play.
Speaker 11 (37:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (37:13):
Both, I mean, like you said, it's two different scenarios,
but it kind of it's a good comparison, I feel like,
because it's all pressure and you obviously don't want to
mess up. You obviously want to be as crisp as
you can. And you know that's kind of how I
play as a football player as well. I try to
lock it in. I focus on the task at hand,
and I try to get stuff done. So when they
(37:34):
challenge me, like I'm any challenge, I'm naeling it, I
feel like, so I took it more of as a
challenge than it more of like pressure, if that makes sense.
Speaker 7 (37:42):
So eighteen bars equals eighteen weeks in a way. Right,
there's the theme right there. What do you look at
first when a schedule comes out. I'm guess seeing at
Houston stood out for you personally.
Speaker 9 (37:53):
Right, Yeah, definitely obviously because that's where I bought my
mom my house at, and that's where I'm home based
at as well. Just being able to play in Houston,
have my family pull up to that game, that's gonna
be dope for me. And even just being being able
to have like a few games down south is pretty
cool to have my family, you know, pull up comfortably
(38:15):
two more games, because you know, the last couple of years,
I've been on the East coast out in Cleveland and Patriots,
and then it was super cold and they could never
really make those long trips to the game.
Speaker 7 (38:26):
So you know, there's a line in your in eighteen bars.
If you're wondering what the hype is about, come around
and find out. What can you tell us right now?
What can you tell about this team right now, especially
considering all the improvement samani Osborn and JG made in
the off season.
Speaker 9 (38:42):
Yeah, I mean, I honestly can say I feel like
this team is ready to go, Like we're working hard,
Like the energy is amazing, Like the additions we've had
obviously everybody know.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Everybody aware of that. We got some great guys on
the defense running it back with the same offense. So
it's there.
Speaker 9 (38:58):
You know, It's just we just got to go out
there and put it, put it on tape. Everybody fired up. Honestly, man,
we know what type of team we can be based
off just last year along. You know, we left a
lot of players out there, We left a lot of
games out there. We should have finished and felt like
we should have won some of those games. So it's
it's fired there for sure, Like everybody fired up, everybody
(39:19):
ready to go, and just really just ready to prove
people wrong, like we we not no pushover team and
we're definitely not the same team from last year. So
just excited to to to prove people that for real, Paul,
that was pretty impressive on the verse. I mean I was,
I was pretty impressed right there.
Speaker 7 (39:35):
But you think I wasn't paying attention, you know, come on,
you know I was, Uh, it was pretty impressed. It's
pretty hard to miss this point. It's been a heck
of a marketing effort, no doubt about that.
Speaker 6 (39:43):
Hey hey, Mac, let me ask you a question. So
you know, obviously you guys had a bunch of defensive
editions this year. What's your role in terms of leadership
when you start talking about the new additions and turns
the inside backers, what's your leadership style? What are you
going to tell them about routine? Just kind of get
into kind of just you know, the mind of Matt
Wilson singer, you know, with some of the young guys
(40:04):
coming in.
Speaker 9 (40:05):
Yeah, definitely my words to them, honestly is just just
be with your feet at you know, as a rookie,
you you obviously come in and you want to figure
everything out right away. You want to you want to
know what's the schedule like during the season. You want
to know what's training camping like, and things like that.
You know, like I told Cody, man, you just got
to take it one day at a time and just
learn as much as you can, you know, from me,
(40:25):
Buddha and the rest of these great best around You know,
I'm a guy who who who. I'm a man of
many words, you know, I don't I'm not a rock
rock guy. I like to lead by my actions and
I'm just a guy who come to work with great energy,
always smiling and just work hard. And Gods gravitate towards that,
you know, And you know, I speak when it's time
to speak, and Gods and God's messed with that.
Speaker 1 (40:44):
You know.
Speaker 9 (40:44):
That's that's kind of like how my leadership goes. And
you know, as far as like you know, recovery and stuff,
I feel like everybody have their own routine or how
they recover and what they need to recover. And you know,
like I, like I said, like I told Cody, you
know that's that's something that he would have to figure
out along the way. Yes, yes I have tips for
you and stuff like that, but you got to figure
out what's what worked best for your body and work
(41:05):
what worked best for you. So I'm just being the ear,
you know, for whatever they may need. And you know,
I'm going into year seven, so obviously I've been around
a good amount of football and you know, I've seen
a lot of stuff. So whatever questions they may have,
I just try my best to answer it, honestly.
Speaker 7 (41:21):
So when the Cardinals put all that money into the
defensive front, right, when they invest all those draft picks
into the defensive front, what does that do for an
off the ball linebacker like Mac Wilson Senior.
Speaker 2 (41:30):
I was a happy man, Honestly.
Speaker 9 (41:32):
I was a happy man just to have some big
guys in front of me and just to be able
to get back to doing what I what I've been
doing all my life, and that's run and hit the
man with the football. I'm excited to have some big
guys up front to keep those guys off me a
little bit.
Speaker 7 (41:46):
What does it do for the scheme if you can
rush for if it's more about dudes now than necessarily
dialing it up and getting exotic with scheme. I mean,
this defense could really take a leap this year, couldn't it.
Speaker 9 (41:56):
Na definitely, And I just I just keep thinking about,
you know, last year's defense and what we're accomplished with,
you know what everyone we had on that defense, and
just for us to revamp and how we did this season.
Like I said, that's why I feel like we have
no ceiling so long as everybody just buying to the
process and just take it one day at a time,
work hard. It ain't no doubt in my mind, Like
(42:17):
we should be a top five defense.
Speaker 7 (42:19):
Eighteen bars what about eighteen year vack kalais Campbell Dubb's
former teammate. Wow, how crazy is that?
Speaker 1 (42:26):
Man?
Speaker 9 (42:26):
I had told my family. I'm telling him when I
see him again too. He's the Lebron James of football.
I tell my people, Like for him to be still
doing it at a high level like that, like it's
pretty amazing. And like I told him when I met him,
like it's only just to be a part of his
story and his journey, you know, rather he ended here
this season or not, you know, just it's a blessing
just to be able to say I played on the
(42:48):
team with a guy like that.
Speaker 6 (42:49):
So you know another thing too. Just don't forget this.
Keep this in your back pocket at all times. When
Kalai starts talking too much, just tell him to shut up,
all right, all right, just tell them to shut up.
I got you, all right?
Speaker 2 (43:02):
Cool?
Speaker 7 (43:03):
What is the compete level gonna be in camp? Here's
my last football question. I mean, you have eight legitimate
defensive linemen, you have a dozen cornerbacks in this roster.
Just tell me about what the competition level is going
to be like in camp.
Speaker 9 (43:14):
Yeah, it's gonna be high. And you know that's what
you want. You want to bring the best out of people,
like even for me, like like, I mean, yeah, I
was a starter last year, but you know that don't
mean nothing. That don't mean I can't. I gotta come
to work and show up every day and and prove
that I'm a starter every day. Like I can't take
my foot out the gas and just be laxed out there.
And that's for anybody, I feel like, So that's what
keeps me going, honestly, just knowing that there's somebody behind
(43:37):
me that that's waiting for me to mess up or
just waiting for opportunity, you know. And I have an opportunity,
and this opportunity that that I don't want to let go.
So I try my best to put myself in the
best position every day to be as sharp as I can.
And you know, just as far as the guy's competing
has just made the best man win, that's the honest truth,
you know. Just compete, have fun with it, and you
make the team. You gotta be there for your brother
(43:58):
and be ready for your moment, know, and that's just
kind of how I tell the guys that's playing behind anybody.
Just stay patient, be ready for your moment. You know
your blessing gonna come for you when it's meant for you,
and you just gotta stay ready. Man. You gotta keep
working and just keep chipping at it, because you know,
here I am. I'm year six, year seven, and I'm
starting again and haven't started since my first second year
in the league.

I love eighteen bars. You know you are you are
an upcoming guy.

Love the seek and destroy style linebacker, love it, love
him coming off the edge. Although the only thing is
he's gonna need the regular season in training camp to
get here, just to get a break. I mean, their
last two weeks have been crazy, busy. You need the
regular season to arrive just to slow down a little bit.
Speaker 2 (44:48):
Man, it's been fun. I'm enjoying everything about it.
Speaker 7 (44:51):
