Speaker 1 (00:00):
Teams like the Buccaneers. What's it like, you know, a
Buccaneer off season where you can focus on.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Much of your film, getting faster and stronger, not not
having all of the pre draft distractions.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Man, it's definitely nice. You know, we get to feel
like you have a little more breathing room.

Speaker 4 (00:14):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Obviously, you know I already you know, got picked by
a team, so not worried about that part of it.
Now I can just focus on my my skills and
my craft. Uh, like you said, getting bigger, faster, stronger.
You know, I had few clips that I can go
off of, but you know, been watching a ton of
kid and a few other tight ends from around the league.
So just tryna, you know, get better and any faster
I can.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
But what what are dependents?

Speaker 5 (00:36):
Do you like to watch?

Speaker 6 (00:36):
When you look at tight ends?

Speaker 1 (00:37):
And in one of moel yourself after who besides Kate
do you'd like to watch it?

Speaker 7 (00:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Man, I love watching Uh Isaiah Likely, Uh, Trey McBride,
uh brock Bauers, just just to name a few. Uh
those guys are obviously all super talented, and I got
a lot of respect for their game.

Speaker 8 (00:50):
What kind of feedback did you get at uh on
your exit interview with the.

Speaker 7 (00:54):
Coaches, Uh, everything was really positive.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (00:56):
I was happy with what they had to say.

Speaker 5 (00:59):
You know.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Being in the role I was in last year, it
was just kind of a place where I had to
stay ready, you know, cause I never knew when my
number was gonna be called, but I knew it was
gonna be at some point. And uh so for me
to you know, be able to step up when I
had my opportunity was very huge and uh you know
left Uh all the coaches like pleased and very excited
to see what the future is gonna intel for me.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
This offense started off with a lot of eleven personnel
last year until the injuries hit the receiver position at
w When you were playing at the end of the season,
there were times it was thirteen personnel out there.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
As a tight end.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Would you kind of like to see that evolution, the
flexibility to do more than just eleven and and maybe
even twelve to get to thirteen sometimes?

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Yeah, I mean, of course selfishly, Uh, to me, the
more tight ends on the field, the better. But obviously
we have so much talent uh in this building and
on our side of the ball, and uh, you know,
I just was happy that when uh guys were down,
you know, our room was able to step up in
major ways to help us find ways to have success. Yeah,
last year, look at your tape being feedback three coaches.

Speaker 7 (02:00):
What would you try to improve on from last year
this year?

Speaker 9 (02:04):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (02:04):
The most The biggest thing for me, I think is
uh just honestly being more physical in my route running, uh,
working on my releases more uh, and then just overall
just id and recognition of the defense uh, pre and
post snap spin of play set faster.

Speaker 10 (02:17):
You know, you're you can talk about bigger, stronger, faster
like physically, but where weight wise?

Speaker 5 (02:22):
Where are you different bigger than you were?

Speaker 7 (02:24):
Are you when you can hear?

Speaker 5 (02:25):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (02:25):
No, I'm about the same size really, Uh, I'm one
of those guys. My weight kind of flextuates a little crazily. Obviously,
you know, the conditions outside and stuff make things, uh
what it is. But after talking with Peel and Jess
a little bit, Uh, I think the plan is kind
of just maintained.

Speaker 9 (02:39):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
You know, obviously don't wanna be dipping down into the
thirties or anything like that, but you know, in between,
you know where I was last year was about two
forty five, two fifty.

Speaker 6 (02:47):
So talk about waiting for your number to be called
last year and Payn went to do the same thing.

Speaker 5 (02:51):
The year before.

Speaker 6 (02:52):
How much do you gotta help you through that whole
process last year though?

Speaker 5 (02:55):
Man?

Speaker 3 (02:55):
L uh, not just paying the entire room as a whole.
You know, I love I love my guys in the room.
I got a lot of love and respect for Coach
Peel and Coach Castle cause those guys, you know, they
ap preach it to me. They saw the times where
I was maybe you know, a little down or a
little you know, cause I just wanted to play. But
they just always were constantly reminding me, you know, each
and every day, stay consistent, stay consistent, stay in your

(03:17):
routine like stay ready, stay ready, stay ready. And eventually,
you know, when I had the opportunity, I was able
to do what I did with it.

Speaker 9 (03:24):
So you probably didn't get a ton of reps with Baker,
you know, during practice or during the season necessarily, But
when you did play and he found you, how valuable
was that for him to see you and and you
guys connect like that on the field.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
I think it's important, uh, cause in moments like that,
You're just you're building trust, You're building rapport with your quarterback,
which is obviously huge if you're someone that wants to
get the ball thrown to you. So yeah, I think
us having the connections that we did a few couple
of times where he was able to find me, it's
just something that we're gonna be able to can continue
to build on as we go into the next season.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Now, offensive coordinator Josh Gazard, but he's not entirely new
who's around the building in last year obviously, how much
interactions do you have with him as the past game
coordinator last year?

Speaker 1 (04:04):
What are your thoughts on that promotion?

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Man, I'm super excited for for Griz and this opportunity
that he's been presented with. You know, extremely knowledgeable coach
definitely knows, you know, the ins and outs of what
he's trying to, you know, teach us and have us
be able to develop into as an offense. And you know,
like I said, he's just a very smart coach. He
knows exactly what he's trying to do. He knows the
players that he has and the type of situations that

(04:28):
you know, we have the most success in. So I'm
just excited to build this thing with him and all
the other guys.

Speaker 8 (04:32):
Do you think your speed and you know yorks per catch, say,
could give this offense like a different dimension.

Speaker 7 (04:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
I think the ability that I have to you know,
have explosive plays stretch the field. You know, it puts
a lot of pressure and stress on defenses because whether
you see me and Kate out there in twelve, just me,
whoever it is, you just know that, you know, it's
a threat to for an explosive player to be able
to happen.

Speaker 10 (05:00):
There's so many Washington guys on this roster and you
have a game in Seattle this this season.

Speaker 7 (05:04):
Excited about the chances to get back home like that.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Yeah, definitely been seeing that one on the schedule ahead.
I'm definitely looking forward to it. I imagined for myself
it's gonna be very similar like how it was for
j Mack to go back to Los Angeles last year
and play against the Chargers. You know, I think he
had thirty forty five people at the game, So I mean,
I imagine nothing but the same for me. Obviously a
lot of love and friends and family back home up

(05:27):
in Washington.

Speaker 7 (05:27):
So I'm definitely looking forward to that one.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Speaking of Washington players, those team's got a lot of them. Buccaneers,
have you been maybe putting in your two cents worth
to get some some of your Washington teammates to continue to.

Speaker 7 (05:39):
Pack you know, a little sprinkle. It never hurt nobody
in the whisper here, whisper there.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
But you know, at the end of the day, we
have an amazing organization, amazing front front office staff, and so
I'm excited for this upcoming draft and to see the
choices that we make to build this championship team.

Speaker 8 (05:55):
Do you think there's enough talent in the room to
potentially have the offense and football?

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Yeah, I mean, I don't see any reason why we
couldn't be the best, you know, offense in the league.

Speaker 7 (06:06):
Last year.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
It's just statistically wise, you know, we were top five
in a lot of categories. And I think as we
step into this next year together, there's just gonna be
even more camaraderie, even more trust, and just even better
for just chemistry and feel for how we wanna play
the game with one another. So I think there's no
reason why, you know, we couldn't be at the top.

Speaker 8 (06:25):
And a healthy god one could certainly help on that report.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Definitely, definitely, most definitely Chris is, as we all know,
very special, special players. So excited for him once he's
able to be fully fully back and doing what he does.
You know, it's just another another weapon for us to
have in this championship run.

Speaker 7 (06:42):
We're trying to make.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
There the girls alright, thanks asking you too.

Speaker 8 (06:57):
What do you think of uh mister Reddick joining the building?

Speaker 5 (06:59):
Garent?

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Oh man, it's nice to uh have him, have him
on the team. Uh can't wait to work with 'em.
Uh make sure we got all get on the same page. Uh,
get out there and have some fun.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
What do you think is big as the impact could
be on the defensive?

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (07:15):
I mean he's an elite pass rusher on everyone knows that,
and uh why not add that on to to the
pieces we have here already. So Uh, I think that's
a awesome addition to the team.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
How did your your ex interview go with with Type
Bulls who What was kind of talked about to help
propel you for this offseason? Uh?

Speaker 4 (07:34):
It was it was more so a me uh making
sure that I I I'm I'm ready w uh come beginning
of the season. Uh, not not missing those those five games.
I I did uh the first two seasons really just
making sure I'm doing everything to not miss those games
but also to continue to dominate at a high level.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
Do you think you figured.

Speaker 9 (07:54):
Out anything as a as a staff and a training
staff as to you know, what makes you susceptible in
that weather to like a tissue of.

Speaker 5 (08:01):
Injury like that?

Speaker 4 (08:02):
Uh? Honestly, I think I got both of 'em out
the way now, So more caps, It's tr Uh, there's
no more, no more.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
I what happens if Colaja Kanti shoots up for all
seventeen games next year?

Speaker 5 (08:14):
This year?

Speaker 4 (08:15):
I think you'll be looking at the sac leader if
he suits up for ah all seventeen games in Tampa
Bay League, in.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
In the league.

Speaker 7 (08:23):
Wow, that's more than rack.

Speaker 5 (08:26):
Hey Bell.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
We gonna compete, we gonna race, we gonna get there,
We going to get there.

Speaker 8 (08:31):
How long gonna take you to get over the uh
Washington playoff game?

Speaker 1 (08:35):
And how have you gotten over?

Speaker 4 (08:37):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (08:37):
I'm I'm way past that. Uh.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
I actually was just talking, uh be to a boy's
apostiated the other day about it.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
A lot of people were saying, well, like just when
it happened that that was our season an and in
my hands at the time, But I really didn't see
it as as uh in particular as that that play
that made it that way. It was more so us

(09:07):
not uh putting the game away and actually getting off
the field. So it was it was something, it was
something that led up to that. It was it was
a smaller problem that led up to the big problem,
which was us not finishing that game. So I didn't
never look at it as if ah man, I lost
us the game, or I messed up, or it's football.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
So it was hard y.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
You guys were able to get off the field on
on any through game.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
They didn't hunt that game. How much did that sting
being a prideful defensive player.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
Uh yeah, that's something that we wanna do too. We
wanna get off the field, we wanna penetrate, we wanna
make a cause havoc. And by us not doing that
and making those drives longer than what they need to be,
and the defense, the the the uh defensive guys just
being on the field longer than than usual, it just
it it just makes it hard on everyone else. Not

(09:58):
getting that three and out and giving up putting the
ball and the offense hands.

Speaker 5 (10:03):
Cause y'all how mut you're actually have.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
But Tarlie Strong just what he brings it.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
Uh A great guy. Uh, Charlie Strong, it's so crazy. Uh.
He used to visit my high school at least every day,
so I always like knew who he was, so we
I'm hired to him here.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
It was like, oh man, that's crazy. Uh.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
I used to see him when I was like walking
through the schools of uh of of my high school.

Speaker 5 (10:29):
And now he's my coach. So did be friend of christ? Uh?
I I give him.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
I I give him a uh a headache every day
about it how he didn't offer me. But okay, you
know it. It is what it is. He's my coach now,
so that's cool.

Speaker 9 (10:45):
Couse last year, next gen staff, it's a regular season
claims that you did not miss attack.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
MM, I figured you might know if that's accurate. Guy,
I don't believe that's accurate. I gotta play right now.
I could think of it that I missed the tackle. Uh,
but thank you messing stats.

Speaker 9 (11:08):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (11:08):
It was the Raiders. Yeah, I was.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
I was lined up in the A gap. I was
this off ball I was the off ball linebacker. But
I was lined up in the A gap and I
was going to drop and took coverage, but it ended
up being a draw and I I I took the
easy way out, going against the offensive linement and went
under instead of over, and then the guy r ran

(11:32):
by it. I just dove for him and he outran me.
That's a miss tackle.

Speaker 10 (11:37):
Is there a sense lot huh uh among the whole
defensive staff that, uh you gotta do more of your
part considering how potent this offense is and and uh
you gotta compliment them a little better.

Speaker 5 (11:49):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
Yes, Uh, we definitely wanna like raise the bar here.
Uh every every day, we all we all wanna hold
each other to a higher a higher standard, uh and
bring more to the table. I mean it's year three
for me. I'm sure the coaches, my my, my teammates,
they they all wanna see more from me as much
as I wanna una see more from myself. So that's

(12:11):
just how it is around here. We all bring each
other up, and we also wanna be as good as
our offenses as well.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
What kind of season do you think is on tap
for yayadiyab Man?

Speaker 4 (12:24):
We won't, uh, y'all, y'all's gonna have a crazy season.

Speaker 5 (12:27):
We don't. We don't stop talking about it.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
Uh, it's just something like we always man this year,
we gonna like we always talk about how we wanna
go out there and dominate. So by by far, like
just looking at the work that's been put in this
off season is it's definitely rolling on the on the
right path.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
You mentioned your see Dennis, you play with him at
at pet He's had, you know, some some flashes of
that guy to play for the Panthers, but the injuries
have been a hindrance too. W what do you expect
from him with that shoulder now surgically prepared him behind him?

Speaker 1 (13:04):
What kind of linebacker is he gonna be?

Speaker 4 (13:06):
I definitely, I definitely expect a lot, uh a lot
from Sevassier only because uh, when I was hurt, I
W I knew how bad it I I I wanted
to be out during the field, whether if it was
just a walk through or actually practicing, and for him
to go through that and get get a get a
taste of it and then have to back away and

(13:27):
then like almost come back during the season and still
have to back away and and finally like just grind
it out and get back with us and get cleared
and everything. I think he gonna have a phenomenal season,
So be on the lookout for Savossier. Alright, thanks us,
Thank you guys.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
It's okay.

Speaker 5 (13:53):
How you guys doing good?

Speaker 1 (13:55):
You just uh had collijon you were saying he's gonna
leave the league in sacks.

Speaker 5 (13:58):
Yeah, and they just tell me about that.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
That man.

Speaker 11 (14:00):
They I want him to win as much as he
want me to win. But that's just something we gonna
have to fight for. But it's gonna be fun.

Speaker 9 (14:08):
It's been fun having Hatsun rag now in the building.
What can you learn from him? How much would that
make your your front more effective rushing the past?

Speaker 11 (14:18):
Yeah, he's Yeah, just watching a film on him previously.
You know he got guy can get to the quarterback
and that's what I wanna do this year, get to
the quarterbacks. So i'm'a just pick his brain and you know,
just get a little intel on on what he sees
and what he what he's been.

Speaker 5 (14:36):
Coached his whole career, and just feed off that. Presumably
maybe you get more one on ones.

Speaker 9 (14:42):
I know you had a lot of attention from tight
ends and running backs last year, but they got a
couple guys to worry.

Speaker 11 (14:47):
About, right, Yeah, I feel like i'm'a still get it,
you know, cause they gonna still try to feel a
sign out. But at the end of the day, you know,
we both just trying to get to the quarterback. So
that's all it is.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
We back and watch film on yourself from this past season.
You were so close. The pressures were were through the roof.
Think you're in the top ten in terms of pressures
last year.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Was there a common denominator that you saw in your
rushes that that uh, you know, prevented you from getting
a sack where it it s stood as a quarterback.

Speaker 5 (15:18):
Hit or a pressure some of 'em.

Speaker 11 (15:20):
Some of 'em was based off of just just not
getting off as fast as I want to. So just
we were just watching film as a unit, as a union,
and I just seen like a couple of clips. I'm like, Oh,
if I had got off the ball quicker, you know,
I woulda. I would have just like I was saying,

(15:41):
like a game of inches, Like, you know, if I
get out the ball faster, you know, i'm'a.

Speaker 5 (15:46):
It's gonna be a close out.

Speaker 6 (15:50):
Coachble recently spoke about how much you grew, uh mentally
from year one to year two just being in the league.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (15:56):
Where do you feel like you've grown the most over
the last couple of years?

Speaker 11 (16:00):
Just just staying consistent, you know, even though the the
SAC numbers went down. Uh, I feel like I've been
consistent in all other categories and I just wanna keep
building on that.

Speaker 7 (16:14):
Yah, you said hit off may have gotten you a
couple more sacks. Has that been a focus for.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
You to saw She's be improve that?

Speaker 5 (16:21):
Really? Really?

Speaker 11 (16:22):
My get off never been the problem. I I I
believe I got great get off. It's just recognition, play recognition,
just seeing if I know it's it could be play
action or if I know it could be certain things.
Just that that extra extra get off, getting.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Sacks and rushing the past is a huge part of
the Addition's game obviously, But so as you know, defending
the run in seting the edge, n how do you
think you've improved on that aspect.

Speaker 7 (16:48):
In year two? And maybe are you are you looking
to even pick that you further?

Speaker 4 (16:51):
You're there?

Speaker 7 (16:51):
Yeah, I feel like I feel like with the run,
I feel like I got.

Speaker 11 (16:55):
That, like like hands down, Like I'm I'm good on
on that, like, like, uh, that just that's just me.
But I feel like what can take my game to
the next level, which is get into the quarterback. So
I don't really go into the offseason focus in too
much on a run cause I got that down package.

Speaker 5 (17:13):
Just get into the quarterback.

Speaker 9 (17:16):
Last year, you guys had injuries and Time's very creative, right,
He's very resourceful trying to cover up spots for To
do that, you had to drop in the coverage, probably
a lot more than.

Speaker 5 (17:26):
He would like you to.

Speaker 9 (17:27):
What would it mean if if you guys can just
rush for predominantly as opposed to having to do all
these exotic things.

Speaker 11 (17:34):
Yeah, saying that makes me smile, cause that's all I
wanna do. You know, I just wanna get off, get
off and get to the quarterback. And you know it's
part of the defense. You know, you just you gotta
do what you gotta do to help everybody be successful.
Cause sometime when I dropped in coverage, Callijah and Vida
got sacked. So it's just all hand to hand. But yeah,

(17:55):
this year, it will it It will mean a lot if
I could just line up and just get out to
the quarterback. Anything else I appreciate you guys.
