Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to another edition of Road to the Draft, coming
to you from the Buck Studio, presented by ticketmaster Casey
Phillips here with staff writer Breed Dix. And you know what,
we got another mock draft. It is mock draft season.
We're here for it. We can't get enough and all
the mocks all the time, and that is where Bri
and Scott have been paying attention to. So thankfully you
don't have to maybe pay as much attention that they've

(00:21):
got it covered. Yeah, so this is your latest mock
draft here. Yes, you've got a lot of them. We're
going to go through a few different picks here. You
got fair amount already filled in. Love how high we've
got a Mazoo person going always have to put that
shameless plug in there for me.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Thank you?

Speaker 1 (00:34):
So all right, so tell me your thoughts already have
some of these that you've gotten filled in, and why
you chose for us to start here with this Rangers pick?

Speaker 2 (00:40):
So going at number six, I have the Raiders taking
Ashton genty and he just seems to be a guy
that continuously rises on mocks. He just seems to me
like a Pete Carroll guy with their the physical, the
run first philosophy, and he's a guy that would kind
of help create that off and of identity brings the power,

(01:03):
the contact, balance, the vision, tremendous leg drive. So I
really liked him going. And I think it's interesting because
even when you look at the way that the league,
it's kind of predominantly been past heavy, but kind of
in the in the last few years, it's kind of
that pendulum has kind of swung back a little bit
to the run game, and I think you're seeing that

(01:26):
taking shape a little bit more. And I think him
going potentially at six or being in the top ten
on a lot of mocks is just kind of a
testament to that in the way that we're seeing the
league move in at a position that's kind of become
devalued recently, I think it kind of shows that high.
And then at eleven to the San Francisco forty nine ers,

(01:48):
I have them taking Jalen Walker, and again he just
continues to be a guy that rises is kind of
one of those tweeeners. But they lost green Law, they
lost Leonard Floyd, and he's kind kind of a guy
that can fill in both of those potential positions for them.
He's a guy that can rush the passer on third
down in kind of those clear passing situations, or they

(02:10):
can have him as kind of that off ball linebacker
on earlier downs. Incredible closing bursts of the football. Really
really talented guy. And then I have Scott and I
mocked a trade for the first time in this one.
So I had the Broncos trading up with the Dallas
Cowboys with actually gent already off the board. I had

(02:31):
the Cowboys trading down and they were still able to
get their receiver, and then Broncos bypassed the Colts to
get their tight end, and I have them taking Tyler Warren.
The Broncos did pick up Evan Ingram, but I don't
think that's going to necessarily prevent Sean Payton from going
out getting a hybrid guy to help out Bonix and

(02:52):
Tyler Warren is I mean, he can align anywhere across
the formation, creates mismatches, can kind of tempo, can change
the tempo to create separation, really good at winning in
Kantesta catch situations. So love him is a fit for
the Broncos.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
And then I noticed you already have a lot of
edges off the board.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
A lot.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Yeah, different outside linebackers.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
And again I think the Bucks typically in years you
have some sort of consensus, but I mean it's like,
you know, whoever is the best player available. They signed
his son Reddick, They re signed Anthony Nelson, So I
really like the depth they've added at the edge position. Now,
if a guy they really like it an edge false
to them at nineteen, I still don't think. I still

(03:37):
think that could be a possibility, or if the receiver
they really like false to nineteen, a corner they really
like is there. But for the purposes of this and
a little bit of my optimistic mock draft my Creed,
I went with Gihad Campbell going to the Bucks at nineteen.
Like I said, they boosted kind of that outside linebacker

(03:59):
with some of the guys they in lost kJ Britt
and then Servassi. A Dennis who they really like is
kind of working his way back from the shoulder surgery
and that injury that he dealt with and kind of
dealt with going back to his days at Pittsburgh, So
they added a guy to help compliment Levonte David And
I think, you know, especially with what his skill set is,

(04:19):
the range that he has, the toolkit he has as
a pass rusher. And of course this Bucks defense is
predicated on creating pressure, and I think, you know, Todd
Bowles has talked about it a little bit last year
that you know, they weren't always able to get pressure
from for so they would have to send a guy,
which traditionally Devin White had been that blitzing linebacker, but

(04:40):
then also they blitz which he of course wasn't here. Well,
then you have a twine Winflow junior who's kind of
primarily been that blitzer at that safety position. He was
injured for most of the season, so Levonte David kind
of got his sack numbers up a little bit and
kind of became that guy that Todd Bowles would send
on those pressures. So I think if you bring in
a guy like g Had Campbell, with his ability to

(05:02):
get there and kind of harassed quarterbacks in the pocket
and get them off their spot, I think that would
allow Leavonte David and free him up to roam. So
that was that's your pick.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
I know a lot of Bucks fans would love for
that to happen. That's a great pick right there. I
like all your different choices. This is a good one.
We always love. Like you said, you're the aspirational road
to the draft person of what we want to Yes,
now he.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Could feasibly go in like the top twelve. I don't know,
but the purposes of this one here he is. He
falls in a wonderful wish scenario to Bucks and nineteen.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
All right, well, at least we're here in the month
of April. It is officially draft months after we've talked
about it so many times. We still have a few
more of these that we're gonna do, looking at some
different prospects, looking at more mock drafts, and so these
are these weeks, man, where everything really starts to coalesce,
come together, and we start seeing a little bit more
consensus after this last month. So make sure you stay
tuned for all these future road to the drafts right
