Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Tampa. What was it like getting that phone call?
Where are you now? Who's run? Good? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (00:06):
I mean I mean can't see right now. Got Aaron
mean b with a family, close friends. But that phone call,
you know, it's just a bless you know, it was
learning on it, you know. Once I saw that phone number,
you know, something dropped, you know, just very blessed to Atlanta,
Tampa and just ready to get the work.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
They hosted you for an official thirty visit. What was
that like? What did you kind of glean from the
team while you were here?
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Yeah, I mean it was a really good visit, you know,
I mean with all the coaching staffs, and it kind
of reminded me of Case, you know, just how everybody's connected,
especially in that coaching staff. You know, I've learned. I've
been learning a lot from them, to be honest when
I went down there, you know, so I know they
got a great culture and I'm just ready to get
down there in the work.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
They could probably make.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Your comfort level offers are playing inside, playing out, Like
do you have a sense for where they like you
or where they want to look at you?
Speaker 1 (00:51):
First?
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Shoot, I really don't know to be honest, but uncomfortable
playing inside outside. Just which oneever they need me to do?
I'm I'm only going to do anything, so whatever.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
To be honest, Jacob, how excited are you to join
a secondary that is just loaded with talent at each possession?
You have Zion McCallum, Jamel Deans, Hike and Swine.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Now you're a part of it.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Yeah, Like it's a blessing to be honest. Is getting
in work with those guys, you know. I'm learn a
few things from the guys, know you know, Iris Iris,
So I'm excited to work with them.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Guys, what would what would you say your greatest after
it is as as the best of fact. Shoot, I
would say I'm a physical guy. You know.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
I used to wrestle when I was younger, and I
take pride in just being physical. I like to hit
all that type of things. So I'm gonna go with
my physicology.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
You have there any guys you know here in Tampa,
Guys you trained with or no from clack in college
or anything like that.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
I played with Josh hayes Is when I was freshman.
I played with him Kse and he was asking my
locker buddy, my freshman year. So yeah, that's that's my dude.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
How much communication did you have with the Bucks pre
dropt obviously the visit, but I know you met with
them at the combine as well. But with their zoom meetings,
did you have a sense that they were really interested
and was this where you thought they might, you know,
potentially make a phone call if you were still on
the board.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
I always knew they was pretty interesting interested to me,
uh on my Top thirty visit, you know, they said
and when good everything just always had a feeling that
was gonna be Tampa. And I actually told to my
agent agent we did like good questions. He asked me like,
where do you think I'm going to end up at?
And I told him Tampa and end up going there.
So you know, like I said, I'm just las to
be here.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
As far as as as far as playing in the slot,
probably one of the fastest ways to get on the
field here in a competition. What what attributes do you
bring there that really make you stand out.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
And it slot, I would say just my main coverage ability,
you know, confident in myself when it comes to playing
man coverage, so you know, I work on it every day.
So I feel I feel like that's gonna allow me
to be a successful in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
So I would say that.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
On the perimeter perimeter, I will go my being physical too,
you know, getting hands on the receivers, being able to
be in the run fit or playing man, playing zone.
You know, I'm just very confident in what I'm capable
of doing.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
So I would say that they're coming in with another cornerback.
The Bucks selected Benjamin Morris from the second round.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
How cool is.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
That that you're gonna come in with another guy in
the same room as you're both rookies. They'll both be
learning competing at the same time together, and I'm sure
they'll room you guys together too.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Yeah, I mean she is a blessed really, you know,
like I said, Arian, Samn, I'm gonna learn a few
things from him, he gonna learn a few things from me.
But you know, ready to compete with that guy.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
How excited you to go up against guys like Mike
Evans and Chris Godwin in practice every.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Day, Sue, I'm very excited, especially on Mike Evan. You know,
he's one of the best receivers in the league. And
I know Guinea rips against him is gonna make me
a better cornerback, So I'm looking forward to that.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Do you know a Mecca or Benjamin?
Speaker 3 (03:57):
Have you had any conversations with them, you know, training,
throughout the through the draft process at all.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
No, I ain't talking to them. I heard of them.
I know they're pretty good players and just excited to
be able on the same team as him.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Have you been to Florida Tampa?
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Shoot my top thirty. That's that was my first time
in Florida. It's in Tampa too, so it's a really
cool place. They say it's a good place to raise
the family. So it's like a two vibe, and I
feel like it's not my topic. That's my topic vibe,
So excited to get down there.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
What do you What do you know about the Bucks
the Tampa defense outside of you know, obviously you know.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
They're Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans and such.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Shoul I would say, even if they like to do
a bunch of different things, you got to be pretty
smart guy to play on that back end. So you know,
I'm gonna getting that playbook, try to master the scheam.
Sarkayona Field, how do.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
You think your experience at Kansas State has made you
NFL writing.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
I would say, just you know, they taught me these
four core values discipline, commitment, toughens, to be selfish, and
you know I just ve by them four core values
east and every day and uh, those four core values
allowed me to ask EU says on my feel just
so I'm gonna keep doing those things success on Sundays.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
You mentioned that on your Top thirty is your first
time in Florida. There's actually a town about forty five
minutes south if you're named Parish, So it's kind of Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
That's crazy. That's crazy, is it with two hours or one?
Or yeah? Two hours there, No, that's crazy. I'm gonna
have to go visit crazy. I'll give you a key
to the city. Yeah, anything else. Congratulations, Thank you, appreciate you. Yes, sir,
