Speaker 1 (00:00):
It went through your mind when you got that phone call,
because you had to do a lot of waiting.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
That's exactly what I said when I answered the form,
I was like, what took them so long?
Speaker 3 (00:08):
Obviously it's a blessing. I'm excited to get there.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Immediately thought of my boy Bucky as soon as I
got the call. Okay, literally, I now thirty one teams,
we're going to be their kryptonite the whole time, so
it's going to be crazy experience.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
I can't wait to get there, excited.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
I gotta feel my buddies down there with J McMillan,
so we got some really good weapons to use for
Baker Mayfield.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
For sure, success that both of those guys had in
their rookie season this past year, they came on to
a great team and were able to make such a
big impact as rookies. What does that do for you
for your level of excitement even your confidence.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
I can't wait to get there and get especially be
in the same room me and J Mac and then
just being there with Bucky. Like because we didn't energize
the buddies like we were one of those guys that
like we wait.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
Like we on it.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
We always gonna have a smile on our face and
let's go to work. So that's something I'm excited for.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Just being able to work with the team getting better.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Now it's time to show everybody like what I can showcase.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
And I just can't wait. I'm so excited speaking on
that Tas.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
One of the best things you do is make people
mess with the ball in your hands as a runner.
You actually led all of fbs and yards have to
catch the last two seasons. Just talk about your ability
to be so elusive after the catch and the rip
off big plays.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Be so honest with you right now. I watch Bucky
highlights before every game.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
I used to watch the Athton Thomas, but if you
watch Bucky Organ highlights when we first got the Organ,
nobody could touch them.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
It's like one of those things like I tried to
time into my game.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
And don't get me wrong, I was always good at
breaking tackles and things like that. I definitely wanted to
be able to make three guys and it's make four
guys miss like that's the elite men of the game.
And when you're watching me play, you're gonna be like, oh,
this guy electrifying you. Can't get him down, and if
you want to go down, he go down on his own.
So I'm kind of I'm like a squirrel man like
(02:09):
you don't.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Really, I don't really trust those guys. They can get
away whenever they want to.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
So yeah, as a Day three guy, special teams are important.
You have the ability to play a factor as a returner.
Can you talk about your experience at a word in
returning and you're looking forward to that in Tampa, I'm
sure as well.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Oh yeah, I can't wait to get that for Tampa.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
And I can tell you right now any team I
was going to get drafted to that point, return is
my It's something I take pride in. I would not
want to be the receiver that just play receiver. I
want to play both receiving punk returner. That's my goal
in the league. Be a dynamic punk returner and then
add some pieces to the offense and be able to.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Work as a receiver to like being being a Swiss
army night.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
So I'm I can't wait to get there and be
able to help the team for sure.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
What did you guys do today for that? For the draft?
Are you with I'm a I'm at a lake House
right now. I'm at the lake House right now with
my family.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
I got both family, my boy, bowl Head, both my moms,
both my dad, all my brothers, my twin cousins, like
everybody here right now.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Everybody was a little it was a little crazy. As
soon as I got to call, my mom dropped to
her knees. She cried so bad. It was crazy. I'm like, oh, Lord, like,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
I was trying to like I was holding tears, and
you know, I was holding tears, and I got my.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Crying out early on the dock out there.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
But yeah, it was really fun, man, it was really good.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
I was so happy when I got to call. Soon
as I saw Tampa Bay, I was like, they don
messed up, Like all these other teams are messed up.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
They didn't let me and my boy get back together.
So yeah, I can't wait to get that. I'm so
excited to get down. I'm ready to be a bucks.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
You said your mom had tears in her eyes. Obviously
she had to make a lot of sacrifices for you
to get here. Can you just speak to that journey
and just what that what those emotions were like.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Looking at her, I knew she was gonna cry. I
knew she was going to be the It was crazy, man.
She She's been through so much.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
I put it through so much as a young kid,
so I mean now even the sacrifice she made, even
just I know it's hard on her, but now hopefully
I can.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Lift some of that weight off her shoulders, uh in
the long run, in the future.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
So I can't wait to get it to Tempa Bay
and watch me play in Tampa. And she always wanted
to live in Florida, so I mean, hey, she may
have she may have something coming.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
In their future. For sure.
Speaker 6 (04:39):
The Bucks are a team full of guys with chips
on their shoulder. Baker Mayfield, Bucky is too small, Luke
Gottage and Mike Evans is too old.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Chris Godwin can't.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
Come back tip on your shoulder. Having to wait for
this long to uh oh added fuel to the fire.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
I'm telling you, I said what every team picks me.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
They got the best in the draft, they got the
best separator, they got the best guy on third downs,
and literally they got the best guy that can take
the top off whenever. And no guy nobody's gonna be
able to touch. So let them be let that continue to
be dealt with the Buccaneers because right now I'm a
Buff and that's for the rest of my life.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
They're gonna get a Super Bowl out of me.
Speaker 6 (05:17):
Seriously, can you talk about your ability to separate because
it's one of the things you do while that and
you know obviously your ability after the catch, But how
are you able to just create such sudden separation so
quickly and to be that that's safety valt for quarterbacks too,
and the death player on end around sweeps and all
sorts like that.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Yeah, I mean, I've always been to one of those
guys that won't be able to separate because of my size.
But guess what, like you still got to come out
here and tackle me. Like if if I separate from
you and you not doing your job will make your job.
We're really, really, really hard.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
So I mean, I tell you, I don't take it
for granted.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
It's God giving the ability, and I give all the
credit to the Lord that I'm able to play this
game and showcase my talents and be one of those
guys I can separate at will no matter what.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
I mean.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
God bless me with that that time, and I can't
thank him enough for it, And.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Yeah, that's pretty much it. Man.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
What do you have to say to the folks that
have questions about your size?
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Come tackle me and watch what I do?
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Drop?
Speaker 5 (06:21):
No, what are some of the receivers when you go
to watch film some of the NFL guys whether it
be in high school or college that you've emulated your
game after takeing some some things from Who are some
of those favorite receivers that you like to watch film?
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Uh, Tank Dell, I'll watch him every day.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
I watch Cooper Cup, Tyler Lockett, and I'm I think
I just watched Bob because my brother like a quarterback,
but I watch him.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (06:51):
But yeah, those are the guys I watch, and they
elite at the game. They very elite, a very tech
technical sound and like they you.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Can tell they work on their craft in off season.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
And I want to be one of those guys to
work on my crafts in off season be able to
showcase it on Sundays. So now now that I'm there,
I can be able to get notes from like Mike
Evans and Jay mcmillery. He already had a rookie year
and so like, how do you do it?
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Good?
Speaker 2 (07:20):
One like all those guys that's in that room, I
can be able to learn from them too.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
And I'm not.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
I'm not never been one of the guys that just
come in a room and be like, oh this is
mine is No. I want to learn first, like it's been.
It's guys there that knows stuff that I've never known before.
So it's my ability to be a sponge and soak
it all in and be able to learn from those
guys immediately.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
And those guys are really great about sharing the knowledge.
They don't get keep anything. But you mentioned Bo, can
you just speak to what that relationship has meant to
you and what that relationship with this family is meant
to you.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
I mean everything both helped me through the whole entire way.
And I can't think him enough. That's why he's the
best quarterback in the league. And I mean, ah, like
I said, I can't think him enough. It's my brother, man.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
I love him to death, and no matter what, no
matter what team I go to, we we play him,
don't We We play the broking Ends, I mean the Broncos. No, man,
I was gonna let you Payton have it.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
So years after a lot of those.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Fings but no, I'm no.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
He wors can explain about how I feel about him.
He helped me so much, toot the way. I love
him to death.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
He's the best quarterback I think in my eyes that
I've seen as a rookie.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
So he like my thing is bo He wasn't a rookie.
He was never a rookie. He walked in the NFL
a veteran. So I love that got a death and
words can explain for sure.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
What about your friendship with him? Obvious? So you admire
him so.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
Much as to have that f my friendship with him,
like we're brothers, so we don't take cold nothing with
each other.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
If you feel like walking behind me and smack me
in the head, that's that's what he does. That's my brother.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Our bun is special. You can't really, you can't really
explain it. I'm the goofy one. He's more serious, but
he's goofy all the time. I can get him out
of that serious mode and be like call him fat.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Or something, and then now I get him round.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
So you got this swagger and this confidence to you?
Speaker 6 (09:30):
Where does that come from?
Speaker 3 (09:32):
God? Man?
Speaker 2 (09:33):
I mean, I go by this thing called audience of one,
and it means only one person can judge you when
it all said and done. Not a fan, not how
many balls you catch, not how many punchs you catch
or touchdowns you you have.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
Only God can judge you at the end of the day.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
You know what I mean, So, audience of one, That's
why I stand by and I'm confident, and I stand
firm and in the blood of Jesus.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
So I've walked with him the whole ENTI way, and
he got me where I am now.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
No matter what then they say or say about me,
no matter how big I am now, no matter how
tall I am. Like I said, God is the only
person that can judge me. I never had a doubt
in him, never ever.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
Are you going to spend the rest of the day.
You know you mentioned you were lakeside. You know Jason
light after some really important games. He would jump in
some good games.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Yeah, you just said often jump in the lake, in
the man off and take this suit off and it's over.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Go right in there and die here first. Now I
might not go ahead first, I'm going back for.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Yeah, I say, Tasmania, man, it's.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
My team. Man.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
They called me taz Mania because like Tasmanian devil.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
I could see that off.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
Tackles a lot. Man I spent a lot.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
So you're talking on the field, I know you are.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Actually I don't, but when I know when a dB
talked to me, he's scared.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
So last for yours.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
If you've got a message for Bucks stands watching this
right now?
Speaker 3 (11:00):
What? What? What are you bringing? What Tony you said?
Speaker 4 (11:03):
What would you say to them?
Speaker 3 (11:04):
A Buck's Nation. I'm ready to work. I can't wait
to get there. Ye're goin to get a Super Bowl
out of us.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
I'm telling you We're going to be the best organization,
the best locker room, the best team, like everything. Like
I'm never I'm a bug for life. Now I mean,
thank you? What what's up to me? And I can't
wait to get there and see you guys.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
Thank you all
