(13:41):
I'm gonna go by age in the in the introduction,
obviously I have to start with Josh George Harris, Okay,
then I go to j K. Scott, and I finished
with Cameron Deaker. So gent it's a pleasure, is an honor, really,
because I understand, I understand this doesn't happen very often,
the three of you. So the first question is, Josh,
do I need your permission before asking any question to

(14:04):
these two or I'm good to go. No, you're good.
Do I have your green lights? Yes?

Speaker 3 (14:08):
Green light?

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Okay, excellent. So Christmas shopping, how are you guys with that?
Have you given any thought whatsoever to that time?

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Of the year.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
We've been thinking, you've been thinking.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
We had some talks today.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Okay, what about you, Josh, anything yet you got forty? Yeah,
you have four kids?

Speaker 3 (14:27):
Four kids?

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
You know, I'm not the greatest Christmas shopper. It's tough
for me to pick out the right thing. I feel
like I spend a lot of time searching for like
the perfect gift, and then it comes down to like
the last minute, and then I'm scrambling trying to get
it all worked out. But we usually come through in
the end.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Yeah, jk anything.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
Yeah, I'm kind of like Josh, not the best Christmas shopper.
But I saw my wife's birthday to worry about. That's
on the fifteenth. Oh shoot, so I saw I still.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Have a I have to dial that in right there first,
and you know that it doesn't work. Yeah, well he
said fifteen, So it's really close to Christmas. Sol, I'm
just going to take care of the birthday.

Speaker 5 (15:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
Yeah, it's not close enough.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Okay, Yeah, I got it. So do you guys get
along really that well? I need the truth here, I
mean really, I mean it's it's it's really this tight.
You guys are that good together? Josh, I go with you.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
I definitely think so. I mean, I think that's you know,
one of the more important parts to the jobs that
we have is being able to get along on the field.
Off the field, I mean, the trust that we have
in each other to get the job done when we're
out there and when you know, the team calls on
us to go out there to perform our job. I mean,
I think the relationship that we have and that we've

(15:44):
you know, kind of cultivated over the last few years,
you know, has really served us well and has you know,
serve us well in the past and will continue to
serve us well in the future.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
And there was a lot of starcastm with that question, family,
because I see these guys all the time on the road,
and they are truly together all the time, you know,
and you can you cannot fake that, you know. So
on my own experience, I can tell you I've been
doing this for over thirty years and some of my
best work has been done with people that I don't
necessarily get along with to a friendship kind of level,

(16:14):
but professionally, you know, it's a really strong bond. In
your case, you guys, you truly enjoy each other's company camera.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
You know, Josh is our golf coach. So every day
we get to go downstairs and Jake Ca and I
get to get some work in and Josh's coaches is up.
So hopefully we're gonna be the best three specialists in
the league at golf.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Who's your swimming coach?

Speaker 5 (16:37):
Oh that's myself?

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Yes, yourself? You still you remain the standards.

Speaker 5 (16:43):
I've been in that pool, but I think I can
hang it. I think I can handle about anybody.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Is it true, JK? Because I understand you. You are
the timers swim too. Yeah, I'm the time or he
what was the what was the fifty?

Speaker 5 (16:57):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
It's up only yards by the way, and you have
the because I'm dying. I'm dying to bring my son
to get out to get twenty five with you right there,
the same thing. Okay, what's the time right now? In
the twenty five or less? I read around twenty five
some scene?

Speaker 5 (17:13):
Twenty five seconds? Yeah, twenty fives, No chance, I bet
I'd be at like thirteen seconds, twelve seconds.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
You were twelve, he was twelve atwelve, he was twelve
on the three stuff.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
Maybe he was maybe what's that you know, their back Yeah, yeah,
about fifty Yeah, sorry, get yeah, that.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Was a little Josh can swim though he's got really
Josh not really flat Yeah, great, rudders back there stearing me.
You know, these guys conveniently like like to swim when
I'm not there, So so they don't know if they're
if they're faster than okay, don't know.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Okay, So Josh, Adrian and I Adrian. By the way,
he's on his way to to call Thursday night. That's
the reason why he's not here with us, so that
he would love to be here. By the way, you're
nickname this series Dicadinho after we went to brazilso so
dick it out or Dicadinho. That's how that's how Adrian

(18:08):
coles camera and every time he makes a.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Field goals one name to no first name.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
So, Josh, we were at the at the game uh
in San Francisco during the preseason when you had to,
you know, go out. Obviously, none of us at the
moment thought, you know, we saw you walk, you know,
from the field. None none of us thought it was
going to be that serious. Did you know at the

(18:33):
time it was a little more than just just an injury.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Uh yes, And though I mean I wasn't quite sure
you know the extent of of what all you know,
that that it was. I mean, I knew it felt
Uh it didn't feel good. That that was for sure.
You know, I didn't think it was gonna be something
that was gonna keep me out as long as it did.
But uh, you know, we've got a great, great training department,
you know, training staff and the doctors you know at

(18:58):
u c l A Health and they were all really
really helpful in getting me what I needed to get
and you know, the help and the treatment that I needed.
And now we're here, we are back out there doing
what we love to do with these guys.

Speaker 5 (19:11):
J K.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
I'm sure that the competitor, you know, all of you
guys realize that, Okay, we don't have Josh anymore, but
we're gonna be okay, we need to be okay. But really,
what's it a little bit of you that said, oh, shoot,
oh Josh, she's not here anymore.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
Yeah, I mean, most definitely.

Speaker 5 (19:29):
I mean.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
Yeah, and just kind of going back to the whole
you know deal that you were talking about earlier, and
just how we have deeply connected, even beyond football and
beyond a professional relationship. And you keep referring to them
as family, and I just feel like that's what we have,
you know, we feel like family. And and to me,
like so Josh in particular, I feel like he's kind

(19:53):
of spearheaded our unit. And he's been the guy that
like he makes things light. He makes things light as
are not heavy, you know what I mean. He makes
things light. He's he's really encouraging, and he's been that
to me. So I was just really disappointed when when
he wasn't gonna be with us. So yeah, definitely we

(20:13):
definitely missed him in that way.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
So how was it for you, Josh, to see these
guys operate? You know, because like Jak said, you know,
you one of the reasons why you're one of the
best units in in football. I mean, you have the
longest punt in the history of the team. You have
played more than two hundred games, which not many long
snappers have done in the history of the NFL. You're

(20:38):
gonna end your career with all the records, you know,
Chargers records at least, I mean, the way you are
you are going. He's already the most accurate you know
kicker in the history of the league, with at least
one hundred you know, attempts, and that's because of you three.
You know, Cameron is the last one, the one that
finishes of the whole you know operation. But how was

(21:00):
for you to see them operate without without you?

Speaker 3 (21:04):
I mean, hey, listen, in this business, the show goes on,
right And so it was, uh, you know who you know,
the guys that were that were brought in, you know,
it was the next man up and step right in
there and get the job done.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
But it was hard.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
I mean, it was tough to be on the sideline,
you know, not practicing, you know, not traveling to some
of the games, and just kind of watching. And it
was funny, I felt like I was more nervous as
a fan than than I than I am as a player,
you know, like watching a game winning kick versus you know,
having your hand on the ball just felt a little different,
you know for sure. But I mean, these these two
guys are are consummate pros, and so I knew that,

(21:40):
you know, whatever the situation was, they were going to
handle it, you know, with with tremendous grace and go
out there and do their job. I mean, that's that's
what makes them so special.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
I get it. I getta say JK that you had
a couple of snaps where you really had to because
he's so quick everything he goes in a splee of
for second when you have to execute it and somehow,
I mean the ball was like up here and that
fraction of a second where you have to adjust the
snap while Josh wasn't with you put it where you

(22:10):
need to put it for Cameron to do what Cameron does.
Believe me, it doesn't go on Knottice. You know, those
those adjustments that you have to do in split off
a second.

Speaker 4 (22:20):
Sure, And I'm just like, like I would just say too,
you know, even like snapping the ball, like the window
that those guys have to get it in with the laces,
there's a lot of things they've got to worry about,
and so people don't usually notice that, you know what
I mean, because it's just usually automatic. Josh just gets
it automatic, and but you know, those can be things
that got struggled with too, and it's hard to get

(22:42):
that ball on the right spot every single time. But
I was just happy, like Cameron would just he was
just he stuck with it every time. You know, he
was just patient and waited for us to.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
Set trust absolute trust Cameron, for you that you know
that your guy will will get it done for you
to do your part.

Speaker 5 (22:59):
Yeah, I think having jk it's always great because I'll
trust it no matter what I tell him. If you
don't want me to kick it, you're gonna pick it up.
I'm gonna kick no matter what. So it's like one
of those things, no matter what's going on, no matter
who we have in there, I'm ready to go. Obviously
with Josh it's been something for the last three and
a half years whatever it's been now where we've had

(23:22):
enough reps where I have no doubt in things. And
then having Rick come in here handle his job, do
what he needed to do for us, which was awesome,
but give us the opportunity to go out there and
execute on big kicks that we needed to. It was
just great to have him around. And then having Josh
back it's awesome. I mean, again, you're back into the
flow of things getting ready. But I trust these guys

(23:44):
with everything there. I have to have that full trust
to be able.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
To do my job. I believe Josh coined the phrase
like everyone has a choice, you know, and everyone wants
to beat us during the week or during training cam,
you know, but then Sunday comes and nobody will trade
places with you. With you guys, can you elaborate a
little more of that?

Speaker 3 (24:08):
Yeah, yeah, So you know a lot of times guys
will walk through the locker room and you know, maybe
we're already done with our portion of practice or you know,
whatever it may be. And you know, one of the
things that guys love to say is like, oh, it
must be nice, right, maybe we're in the hot tub,
you know, maybe we're hitting golf balls. You know, whatever
it is, it must be nice. And so, you know,
the reality is everybody did have a choice right of

(24:29):
what position they wanted to play, and you know a
lot of the guys chose to be these superstars, and
you know they get all get all the all these touchdowns.
You know, but that's really the only thing that you
can say back to them, you know. But you're you're
exactly right, because, uh, you know the majority of people
would love to have our job, you know, Monday through Saturday,
but then come Sunday at game time, very few people

(24:52):
would want to trade spots with us in those moments.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
Oh oh my gosh. And that's I love to peak
the brain of the you know, the professional, high level
athlete and the way you have to think with your
camera on with every kick, especially because the margin of
error is so little, you know, in the in the NFL,
and you know that, you know, championships are won basically

(25:19):
with special teams, you know, with that kids, So how
how do you process that camera? And I mean do
you have like this induced amnesia where it's the last kick?
Is the last kick? They did? Noise of one hundred
thousand people in the stadium. You know how you pulled
all that away? Because the the you know, the human
being me that I'm calling the game with Adrian, it's

(25:42):
just I try to put myself is impossible in your
shoes to say, how are these guys doing it? I mean,
how are they focusing to the point where all that
matters is that that moment? Do you hear anything when
you're about to kick that football?

Speaker 5 (25:59):
Usually it's like my mind goes pretty blank. This year
has been cool because, like we've talked about it quite
a bit, JK and Chapel services and stuff, and just
like with the team. You can't be like anxious and
grateful at the same time. So finding yourself to be
in a place of gratitude and like reminding yourself like
you're grateful to be in that position. So like when

(26:21):
I'm out on the field, I'm usually praying. So I'll
go out there and like I'll be at the top
of my steps and I'll be like, thank you God,
thank you for having me here, Like thank you for
this opportunity, praying for ability and that opportunity, and then
like as we go down, I know that these guys
love me regardless of what happens. I know the tight
group of people in my life that I truly care
about love me regardless of what happens. So at the

(26:41):
end of the day, like I don't care if I
please you, like if I miss a kick, Like I'm
going to miss a kick. It's gonna happen at some point,
and when it happens, it's like, cool, man, I got
one that I'm gonna have to hit either next week,
in twenty minutes, whatever it may be. So make or miss,
I gotta be able to hit the next one. So
just having that mentality, but also back to that like
if I miss a kick, I know these guys are

(27:02):
still going to love me the same, which makes my
life easy. And then I can just go out there
and just kind of execute and have fun and try
to enjoy the moment as much as I can.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
Important. How important is the faith the faith that you guys,
you know, I understand, profess and carry around with you
at all at all times for moments like that.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
Yeah, I mean it's tremendously important. I mean I feel like,
you know, every one of us was was put was
brought here, you know, definitely for a reason, and uh,
you know Jkle's share and Chapel, you know all the
time that you know, just the immense love that that
Jesus has for for each and every one of us.
And there's nothing that we can do out there on
that field or in this building that's going to change that.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
You know.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
It's not like, oh if I have this great snap,
like Jesus is gonna love me more If I mess
this up, you know, now I'm like on my way
to you know, somewhere else, and you know, but no,
that that's just I think that's just another thing that
that you know, ties us together and really really helps
in the you know, in the locker room as a whole.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
Two. Let's to go by fast, Josh, fourteen years in
the in the NFL, your first seasons with obviously Atlanta,
you played in a super Bowl. You know what it
is to be there, you know, anxious to get back
I assume.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
Yes, but would love nothing more than to, uh then
to get back there and not just get back there,
but uh but you know, win that game. You know,
that's uh obviously one of the biggest goals that any
you know NFL player has is uh is performing well
on that stage. And you know, we've got a great
team and a great group of guys that uh, you know,
believe in each other and uh, you know, we know

(28:41):
how to practice, we know what it takes, and so
that's you know, the work that we started putting in,
you know, in the off season. That's what it all
kind of builds up to, you know, especially as you know,
these last five games of the season, you know, go
out there and handle our business. So you can't get
too far ahead. You can't look you know in the
rearview mirror either. You know, the next game is the
one that matters, you know, and that's Monday night, and

(29:01):
so we'll attack that one and then move on to
the next one.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
Does does it go by fast? JK, You're right in
the middle kind of age wise, you know, with Josh,
with Cameron? Does it go by fast?

Speaker 3 (29:12):
These NFL individual seasons are like the career.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
Like the career, Oh yeah, I would say like I'm
already on year eight of being in the NFL and
like it just flew by, you know what I mean?
And I feel like each season just gets faster.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
Yeah. Shoot, life is like that too, And I'm like,
I'm like twenty years older than you. I'm like twenty
three years No, I mean twenty you know, I'm eighteen
years older than you, twenty three and You're like, I
don't even want to come with you, like twice, Like
so Eagles, we have a really tough opponent Monday, and

(29:53):
it doesn't get any easier, you know after the Eagles,
you know, having to go to Arrowhead and dalla Us
and you know, Texans and Mile High. So what is
gonna what is it gonna take. I know that you
as a competitor, of course you're gonna win these games,
you know, And that's the way that's why you play football,
But what is it gonna take.

Speaker 5 (30:14):
I think it's exciting. You want to play big games.
You want to play against the best teams. I think
right now going ahead, we're playing against some of the
best teams in the NFL. So having the opportunity to
go out there and compete and prove what you can
do individually, but also as a team where we kind
of stand going into hopefully playoffs and seeing what happens.

(30:35):
But I think guys just have to everybody's ready for
the challenge. It's going to be a challenge, and I
think everybody's ready for it. I think Jim does a
good job getting everybody prepared. I think all the coaches
get everybody going. But just trusting in each other and
just being able to have fun throughout it.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
So I thin thing, Josh, I mean, just a lot
of competition. I mean the top is the hardest a
challenge the more you embrace it. And that's what these
you know, these last five games you know are going
to be for you guys.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
Yeah, I mean, this is this is what you want,
you know, as as as competitors, as as football players,
you want to be playing meaningful games. You know this
this time of the year and uh, you know this
is just the next step and and where we want
to go and where we want to get to. And
you know it's not about you know, making it bigger
than what it you know needs to be. It's hey,

(31:25):
this is our next opponent. We know what it's going
to take, you know, to get the job done, and
that's going to be. I mean, nothing has you know,
will change Monday than what is you know, mattered all
the other games prior to this. You know, play good,
clean football, uh, complimentary football on all three sides, you know,
in all three phases. And I think we'll like you know,

(31:46):
where we're where we're at come Monday night if we're
able to do that.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
And since you play that last game of the year
with the Falcons, you know what it takes to get
to that point. Do you see this team, you know
having that that uh that sometimes it goes well beyond football.
You know, there are other factors you know in that
locker room that account for a lot.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
Yeah, I mean I think just the uh the amount
of time that we spend with each other and around
each other, and uh, the love for the game that
everybody in this building has I mean, if you if
you don't love football, this is a really tough job
to have, you know. And so I think across the board,
everybody in that locker room and everybody on that field,
you know, they they love the game of football. They

(32:30):
love to compete, and uh you know that that's what
it takes to get, you know, onto the biggest stage.
And you know, I see a lot of the same
characteristics and traits in our locker room now as I did,
you know those, you know, years ago in Atlanta. But
every team, every team is different, right, and everybody you
know goes about it a different way. And really the
only thing that matters is is doing your job, you know,

(32:52):
not looking too far ahead, you know, and not looking
like I said, not looking in the review mirror, just
handling business and doing what we need to do to
win this game.

Speaker 2 (33:00):
So, family, we cannot close this without mentioning that mister
Cameron Deacker has been nominated for the second year in
a row as a Chargers finalist for one of the
most prestigious NFL awards. Many consider it even more prestigious,
more important than an MVP, because it's so much more

(33:24):
than football. And I'm talking about the Walter Payton Man
of the Year NFL award that Cameron Decker once again
has been nominated for. And I'm not going to give
the word to Cameron. I'm gonna give it to JK JK.
Why do you think that Cameron Decker for a second year,
it's the recipient of this incredible honor to be nominated

(33:46):
for this.

Speaker 4 (33:48):
Yeah, man, come on, dude, Yeah, I would just say Cameron,
he just loves people so well. He's always thinking there's
a there's a verse in fhlipp Into says, look out
for others interests, not just your own interests, and that
would sum camera up. He's always constantly looking out for

(34:09):
the interests of others. It doesn't even matter if it's
even in the middle of the game. I don't know
if any of y'all watch like the game, I'm literally
like kicking the balls in the net. Cameron picks the
balls up, hands him to me, He picks him up
like he's constantly doing things for me and Josh, constantly
trying to serve us, constantly trying to put others needs
above his own. And he does that off the field,

(34:31):
and he's got his his his thing, wholeheartedly, is your
is your what is it called your your foundation? Is
foundation wholeheartedly and all the work that he's doing with that,
and he's putting his heart into that. He's not just
doing it because you know it's what you do or
whatever he's put like, I see him putting his heart
into it, and he has a deep desire to help

(34:54):
people and put other's needs above his own. So I'm
so proud of him. I think he deserves to win
that word for sure.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
Josh, I asked you to get ready for the one,
you know, try to come up with ideas, lies, whatever
you could to justify.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
So yeah, well, first, congratulations man, I mean a tremendous honor.
And uh, you know that that doesn't just get those
those types of awards don't just get given out, you know,
for for no reason. And I think it really just
boils down to to using your influence in a positive way,
you know, And everybody in the NFL has a tremendous

(35:30):
amount of influence and you know, you can choose to do,
you know, with that whatever you want, but uh, I
think it it takes a very special person to uh,
you know, to to use that in such a positive way,
and you do that on the field and off the field,
and it's a tremendous honor to get to work with
you and alongside of you and learn from you, you know,

(35:51):
and that that's that that's true, and that's uh. It's
incredible to see you know, the works that you've been
able to do, uh in this community, in your community
back home them, and you know, that's something that they
can never take away from you. Man, that that Walter
Payton logo that'll be on your you know, on your
jerseys and you know, those types of awards, you know,
like like you said, I mean, that type of award

(36:12):
is uh is often held you know, in a higher
esteem than an MVP. And so that's just an incredible
honor and it's it's really cool to see you doing that.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
Man, are you so cool? Why are you so cool?

Speaker 4 (36:23):
Why?

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Man? Like, explain it to me what I'm bringing. I mean,
like it's just the way you see the word and
life and friendship and community.

Speaker 5 (36:36):
I mean, just try to have fun. I mean, I
think everything boils down to having fun, being like a
child again and just like enjoying life. We talk about
it of being childlike and the Bible tells you to
be childlike, to be curious about things, to be trusting
and loving and so being able to love on somebody

(36:57):
and share the light like one of.

Speaker 3 (36:59):
The big things.

Speaker 5 (37:00):
Like, no matter what influence you have in your life, Like,
everybody has an influence over something. So if it's impacting
one person in your life, that's awesome. If you can
impact multiple that's great, But like, try to make an
impact on one person's life. And so for me, every
conversation I have, I try to make sure they feel

(37:20):
like they're the only person I'm talking to and only
person interacting with and then go from there.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
And you've done all that with Liverpool having a really
bad season, so you've so you've found a way to perform. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (37:35):
Yeah, we have a fun time. Me and one of
our head guys that helps run this building, Chris. He's
a Tottenham fan and we talk a lot of trash
to each other, so we have a good time.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
Well, so so familiar and how you can see why
these guys have become one of the best literally units
in the entire NFL. And I'm telling you, I'm telling
you these you know all how you say wholeheartedly, they
truly are like this. You know, Adrian and I we
get the privilege to travel with the team and see

(38:08):
these guys interact with each other and with others. You know,
this is who they are. They're really this great, this school,
this friendly. They treat everybody, everybody well, you know, with
the same amount of respect without you know, really matter
what you do for the team. So so I think
that's one of the great, great reasons why you guys

(38:30):
operate the way you do, why you are great at
what you do, and why you will continue to be
great as long as you are together and working as
a family.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
You guys are.

Speaker 2 (38:40):
So it's been an honor honestly, you know, because I
do believe that this is the first or one of
the first times that all of you have been together
doing something like this.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
So it's been an honor for me and.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
For us in putt a charge to have Josh Harris,
