All right, so a rough game on Sunday, we like
to just, you know what, forget about it.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
Moving on.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
It's gonna be difficult. There's gonna be a lot of
adjustments that need to be made from the injury front
to just the penalties be a little bit more disciplined.
I know you guys have it down, but as Jim said,
you guys are a bunch of competitors in that locker room.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
You're gonna rectify for Sunday.
Speaker 5 (18:52):
Yeah, like you said, it's a tough loss, but it's NFL.
Every week there's a there's a competition. No matter anybody's record,
everybody goes into the game zero zero. So, like you said,
you got a correct the mistakes that we have. It's
always the next man up mentality around here. We have
a lot of good guys that can compete at a
high level. So as long we just can continue to
sharpen that iron and we'll be ready to go for
the Sunday.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Troy Puncho says hello here.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
To me, it's always cool to talk with the you know,
with a professional elite athlete to kind of pick the
brain of you guys, how long does it take you
personally to get over a game like the one on Sunday.
Speaker 6 (19:29):
I think it's a forty eight hour rule. I mean, personally,
have treated as a twenty four hour roll.
Speaker 5 (19:33):
You kind of watch the tape, understand what the what
the corrections need to be made, You come and watch
the tape as a team, and you kind of just
move on because you can't let it last week beat
you next week. So you kind of have to really
wash it, understand what happened, and kind of address it,
don't shy away from it, and kind of just understand
that whether you win or you lose, there's always gonna
be corrections, but when you lose, they kind of stick
out a little bit more. And so I think as
(19:53):
long as guys understand that will be okay. And I
think everybody in this building does a good job of
addressing stuff, and no one shies away from confrontation. Everybody's
able to talk to everybody in an adult manner. So
it's a good place to be in. And I think
as long as we, like I said, as long as
we all address it the right way, and you can
move forward and understand that it's a long season and
with the stack each week, regardless of a winner or loss,
(20:15):
and just go out there and fix the mistakes and.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Troy, you get off to a great start, especially in
the division, it kind of gives you a little bit
of wiggle room to kind of, you know, just deal
with whatever you have to deal with in the next
couple of weeks or so. But now comes Sunday, you're
facing one of probably the most one of the most
electric talents in all of the NFL. Could have probably
played last week. They saved them up. So he's ready
to go. And we're talking about Jaden Daniels. I just
want to get your read, your take and what you
(20:39):
guys are obviously thinking comes Sunday, because he is He's
going to be a little bit of homework.
Speaker 4 (20:44):
He's a talented player.
Speaker 6 (20:45):
Yeah, you said, he's very talented young man.
Speaker 5 (20:47):
I think he led a team to the Nancy Championship
last year as a rookie, so that shows a lot
of his leadership skills and his talent ability on the field.
But I think just the energy and the juice that
he brings to his team alone. I believe as a captain,
you don't just get that senior chest for no reason.
So you have to respect the game and go out
there and understand that he's one of the top quarterbacks
in the league right now, especially one of the top
(21:08):
young quarterbacks. He does a lot of good things. He
can make all the passes, make all the right reads.
He's good on his legs, He's very smart, and he
understands what he needs to do to help his team win.
So sometime as we go out there and execute, we
have to execute and just handle our business. It should
be a good game.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
Troy.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Right before you got here, we were talking about you
know that your the numbers of the defense this year
once again are pretty good. You're right under eighteen points
allowed per game. You know, you're really good in you know,
containing the rushing attack, the air, I mean, like the
whole thing. You know, And I wanted to ask you
(21:45):
how how much easier is making adjustment during the game
now that you're in your second year under Jesseminter.
Speaker 6 (21:53):
I think it's a little bit easier.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
I think just because we all trust Colorgemincer and everything
that he brings to the table. I mean, he's a
very smart man, and all the adjustment that he makes
at halftime or even during the game on the sidelines,
you kind of just listen and kind of get sharp,
and you kind of go there's nothing that we don't
really practice for.
Speaker 6 (22:07):
We kind of practice for everything.
Speaker 5 (22:08):
So when stuff kind of does go a little array,
we all kind of tightened down and we understand that
we have to fix up a little couple of things
here and there, and we kind of just move forward.
And we're all professionals at the end of the day.
We played ball at a high level. So you have
to be able to learn things on the fly and
be able to adjust things on the fly because this
is the National Football League and stuff changes fast.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
Troy da.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Amost In Puddle Chargers De Troy, let's talk a little
bit more about some of your teammates. I know Thuley,
you know. Let's because I love to focus. I know
Buncho does the same thing. We love to focus on
the positives and just kind of taken from what we saw.
Let's let's talk about just while Mosco's left and right.
I mean, I think it has something to do with
that little Jedi Brad He's got going on, right. The
(22:50):
force is strong with him now.
Speaker 5 (22:52):
Yeah, definitely, I think too is a very special individual.
I think he's he's a young talent that it gets
overlooked in this league. But I'm glad to have him
on our side. He said, he plays football the right way.
He plays hard every snap. The four sacks don't surprise anybody.
I think the first three weeks he was he was
right there, he's causing havoc, but he just wasn't able
to get to that last finishing moment, and so it
(23:12):
wasn't surprised that he came up with four sacks, five TFLs,
ten tackles. I mean that the guys always run the
ball in practice, always in the meeting rooms, always doing
the right things, lifting hard, running hard. So when when
guys like that have success, you kind of just like,
all right, he deserves that because he's been working for that.
And you know, in this locker room, we always want
everybody next to us to succeed, and we're just really
happy that he was able to go out there and.
Speaker 6 (23:32):
Perform at a high level.
Speaker 5 (23:33):
It's just unfortunately we're going to able to get that
win for him to to kind of capitalize a little
bit more.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Troy, if I'm right, I think you are third in
the team, right now in tackles with twenty four. You know,
just I believe that only Dirtwin and Dayan has they
have more tackles than you do.
Speaker 6 (23:53):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
On the other on the other side, this and I
love to talk about these. On the other side, this Sunday,
you're gonna have Bobby Walkner, thirty five years old. He's
leading his team with like forty two tackled spur like
twenty more than the guy goes second. I mean he
has to be kind of you know, it's pretty cool
to play with a guy like this, even though he
plays on the other side, you know, for the other team.
Speaker 4 (24:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (24:15):
I think Bobby is a very special talent. I mean,
he's a future Hall of Famer. Like you said, he's
thirty five, He's been in this league for a long time.
He's played on a lot of great defenses. He's a
general on the field for that team. And I think
his game just speaks volumes and be able to sustain
it for as long as he has is really impressive.
And I think he's just the way he attacks the
game every day. And I think I don't know him personally,
but from watching him on tape, I think he understands
(24:36):
the game at a really high level. He's very smart.
I believe he has an NBA if I'm not mistaken.
So he's a very smart individual off the field as well.
So just being able to play across from a guy
like that is going to be kind of cool to
see and just watch him attack the game the way
he does.
Speaker 6 (24:51):
But at the end of the day, you know, he's playing.
Speaker 5 (24:53):
At a high level, and we always want the success
for everybody in the league, always want someone to perform well.
Just hopefully he doesn't perform that well against us.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
There's almost going Troy die the friends, Chargers and Troy
you know, going back now, just have a little bit
of fun to close this out with you, you know,
going back to Corona Chargers days. What are your like
were you? I mean, you were a Charger fan growing
up then? Or was it just because of the Corona
Chargers effect you became a Charger fan? How did that
all work out? And if you did like the Chargers,
(25:21):
who were your favorite guys?
Speaker 6 (25:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (25:23):
I mean growing up in southern California, the San Diego
Chargers were the main team when I was a kid,
and like you said, playing for the Corona Chargers, so
It's always kind of cool to watch those guys play
like you had like l T you know, Sean Merriman like, uh,
excuse me, Junior say, like all those cats were big names,
and so you kind of you kind of watch those
guys play. I think like Sean Marion went with the
lights out. Celebration was always a big thing as a kid.
Speaker 6 (25:43):
Did you have one?
Speaker 5 (25:47):
Try to do a little bit here and there as
a kid, but you know, you're not really doing the
same thing that he's doing. But it's just cool to
see those guys around the building and at the game.
It's kind of cool just to be around that environment.
But yeah, it's definitely a blessing to be able to
play the both on my helmet the same way I
did as a kid.
Speaker 4 (26:03):
That's so cool.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Troy six or six years in the in the league, yes,
twenty twenty yeaheah, I'm a COVID kid.
Speaker 6 (26:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
Doesn't go by faster.
Speaker 6 (26:11):
Yeah, it does go by fast, but really fast.
Speaker 5 (26:13):
I always tell the young guys in the locker room,
like high school and by fast, college one by fast
and then you your eyes and your six year and
you're just like, wow, where'd the time go? But you know,
as long as you're enjoying and having fun with it,
you know it's gonna go by fast. And it's the
good old saying is if you're having fun with the
time is gonna fly. So you know, I'm just enjoying
every moment that I have and the days may be long,
the weeks may be long, with the months go by
(26:34):
fast and the year goes by faster. So as long
as you can go out here and just enjoy every
moment of it, build those relationships with the guys around you,
and just kind of just don't take anything for granted
and just play the game the right way. You're gonna
hopefully play this game for a long time.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
And Troy closing it out here just you know, talking
about the relationships with your teammates and you've been from
Southern California and you know, and just in our discussions
with the guys that are coming into LA maybe year one,
they're just so impressed with how laid back and how
awesome Southern California is. The location those skis to San Diego.
Do you kind of become the ambassador for these It's like,
you know, what, I know where to go because you
(27:07):
being from the Inland Empire. You got the best of
all worlds. You know what's happening in San Diego. You
could take it to the coastline, go to hunting and
go wherever you want. Where do you take your guys?
Is there a couple of go to spots that you
kind of you know, showed the ways of the forest
to your teammates.
Speaker 5 (27:21):
Yeah, like you said, like, I'm from the Ie, so
it's kind of like I'm not a big I don't
know the lay of the land of La that will.
I kind of go to down Henley for that because
he's a La guy. He knows all the good restaurants,
like all the good localations to go to. Like I
live in Torrents, so I always go down to the
Torrents Beach and kind of hang out down the beach
by the beach down there. Just being from Ie, Like
you're not that close to the water, he said, like
closest beach to us, it's like Huntington. That's an hour
(27:42):
and some change drive on a good day with no traffic.
So I didn't go to the beach a lot when
I was a kid, but when I did, I was
there all day. So being able to just drive five
minutes at the beach and hang out there is always
a big thing for me. So that's kind of where
I spend my off days a lot of the time.
But you know, I'm more of an inside guy, like
I like just home cooked meals, staying inside and watch TV.
But if I do it is going to the beach,
hanging out on the beaches, being by the water, just
(28:03):
because like you kind of take it for granted, like
spending four years in Minnesota and not being able to
be around water, like like the ocean, or always being around.
Speaker 6 (28:10):
Snow and all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
You kind of you kind of take that son for
granted being from southern California because every day is sunny
days and seventy five or ninety degrees for a naive,
but you know, it's always beautiful out.
Speaker 6 (28:21):
Here, and you kind of just like, oh you get
one rain dance, like oh, the world's falling, but like
you know, like.
Speaker 5 (28:28):
The channels, drive's going scars exactly, bubble coats on.
Speaker 6 (28:33):
Like I remember last year I got.
Speaker 5 (28:34):
Back and it was during the quote unquote winter time
out here, and it was like seventy five people like.
Speaker 6 (28:38):
In bubble coats and jackets, and I'm like, like, why
are you wearing these jackets?
Speaker 5 (28:42):
Like dramatic with five Like I understand why you need
those jackets, Like you don't need them out here.
Speaker 6 (28:48):
But no, it's just fun to be back.
Speaker 5 (28:49):
Home and just being in the sun and being around
stuff that you're kind of used to them familiar with.
Speaker 6 (28:53):
It's always nice.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
Yeah, Troy real quick, so con Trollyd handled himself in
the kitchen.
Speaker 6 (28:59):
Oh yeah, I can cook a little bit.
Speaker 5 (29:00):
I'm not I'm not gonna I'm not a massive chef,
but you know, I'm pretty good on the grill. I
can cook up a little things here and there.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
There you go. What's your go to? What's your go to?
Speaker 5 (29:08):
I'm a steak guy, so I can throw some steaks
on the grill. Kind of get some stuff, right, some
baked potatoes and mashed potatoes, whatever you kind of go.
Some broccoli or asparagus, depending on what the day is.
If I want to get fancy, throw some corn and
cop on the grill. But you know, just kind of
just keep it basic and Marie vanilla guy. So I
don't like you branched out too crazy.
Speaker 4 (29:26):
And that's.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
The fans have you have you felt how the fan
base just keeps growing. How you guys see every game
you play away too, you know, you have those fans
present at the stadium, you know, and and sofa he's
you know, he's different from what he was, you know,
five years ago during covidor after COVID. Of course, you know,
(29:49):
but but how do you feel that.
Speaker 5 (29:52):
I think the fan base has grown a lot, and
I think it has to do a lot to do
with coach Harball and his investment into the fans and
bringing everybody back up from San Diego and growing the Bay.
Speaker 6 (30:00):
It's better in LA.
Speaker 5 (30:01):
I'm getting people to come out to the games, and
you can really feel the difference, especially when you're otre
on defense and it's getting pretty loud, and I just think,
like back to the Denver game when Keenan scored, it
was one of the loudest eruptions I've ever heard and
so far, and it was it was kind of cool
to be a part of that and just understand that
the fans care a lot and ray a little go
out there and put a good brand of football on
tape and just hopefully they can keep coming out and
supporters the right way and.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
Get ready history is going to be made again. Allen.
