Speaker 4 (01:20):
Yeah, I think it's like a you're it's like a
feel like light.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
I like it. It's a little bit more blue less,
a little more blue yeah yeah yeah. And then I
think I'm it's nice. Look we look great? Yeah you do?
Speaker 4 (01:32):
Yeah, we do.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
We look great.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
Call like we see it.
Speaker 5 (01:35):
We do.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
It'll not gonna spike itself.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
It is a bye Weeks edition of a first Friday,
so we will have all of the things that you've
come to love. Some of these things would air on
a on a Thursday at times, and now they're all
going to be in the mix here. So we're gonna
have your college football, Nate, We're gonna have your scores.
We will try to guess the scores. You have that
to look forward to, which is nice. We'll take you
around the league. So Lean'm going to join us at
(02:01):
four o'clock. It is a mail bag first Friday. Sometimes
I don't even know a day it is, kipe.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
How Friday, I don't know. I know that I got
to get to the end of this one. And we'll
see you when we see.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
You, Yes we will, Yes, we will. So mail beg
us up in the final hour of the program. We'll
get to that coming up at for thirty.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
I just want to say this is we prepare for
today's program and say whatever you like. You're the franchise,
and you know we got we got a lot of
stuff going on, as you said, but guess the scores
in particular. I just want to share this quote with
you that I found from a philosopher. Okay, sometimes when
you win, you really lose. I don't agree with that.
Sometimes when you lose, you really win. I don't agree
(02:51):
with that. And sometimes when you win or lose, you
actually tie. No, and sometimes when you tie, you actually win.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
You think so that.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
There's something about that one. Yeah, winning and losing is
all when big organic globule from which one extracts what
one needs.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
So there you go. That's deep. That's very deep. That's
very deep. By week this week, trade deadline Tuesday, four o'clock. Yes,
it's been quiet so far. Surprisingly so I would expect
that today or really yesterday, that perhaps.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
Teams that were on a bye that were going to
be sellers would be and that would include the Browns
potentially would have made some deals because it would make
sense to me that those who are interested would want
that player for this Sunday.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Yeah, so.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
I'm a little surprised at how quiet it's been because
we've been told, we have that it was going to
be the most intense and active NFL trade deadline never
and it may still well be in the next six days.
But it felt I thought maybe you would see something
last night or today. Now, the Browns did make the
Tyson Campbell breag knew some trade on a Wednesday evening
and both played. So we'll see. We'll see what that is.
(04:18):
By the way, that quote that I read from a philospher,
do either the youngsters in there have any idea? I
didn't know if give would catch it. I think would
catch it. What movie that was from? I did not, No, sad,
it's a great film. I'd recomend checking it out.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
The Great g Man, A good stretch. You guys want
to play a little round ball? What was we we
We had a conversation with the hoff about this yesterday.
It is Halloween is Friday. Our town's still doing it Friday.
Same you guys too.
Speaker 5 (04:54):
Falls has moved to Saturday because we have a home
playoff game.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Yeah, we do too, and they're keeping it Friday. I
thought I thought they would move it to Thursday or Saturday,
and they didn't.
Speaker 5 (05:03):
I give the City of Homestead Falls credit. They saw
this coming and said, even if they'll be playing a game,
could be road, could be home, we're moving to Saturday.
And they did it like three weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Yeah. It's tough, man. Now, when you guys were kids,
and you guys were in obviously major metropolitan areas, I
was what is I think classically referred to as a
rural area. Yes, so Halloween for us was just on
the day. It was the thirty first, no matter what
day it fell. If it was a Sunday night, then
it's a Sunday night. Except we never moved it. There
was no Beggar's Night, there was no nothing. It was
(05:37):
the thirty first Halloween. That's it.
Speaker 5 (05:40):
Has everything been harvested at that point? Is every Oh?
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (05:43):
Is every Are you done tilling?
Speaker 4 (05:45):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're at this point. I mean now
they're doing a lot of spraying. You're probably you've probably
could be planning some winter wheat, could be done with it.
You're probably done with You're done with everything. It's it's
all all quiet on the western sale point. Yeah, you're good,
You're good at that point, gotcha. All the heavy lifting
is done. But yeah, it was. It was any day.
(06:06):
It was any day of the week. And yeah it
was Halloween. It was Halloween. It was a thirty first.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
That was it.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
It didn't matter. You didn't change it to a Thursday
or a Friday before, like it was Christmas. Christmas.
Speaker 5 (06:16):
My father, my father got out of work at five
and he would race home God bless him. Yeah, to
make sure that he was ready to go. You know,
my being a TV dinner at five thirty, that's right,
so he can hop in a costume and start walking
at six.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
God almighty, what a father you had. I don't think
my dad even knew what day it was.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
Pedro was in He was in the Halloween you want
to I could see him doing some renaissance you want
to seek peak.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Does he have any renaissance costumes that he was wearing?
Speaker 4 (06:42):
Did he ever dressed up? I don't really strikes me
as he could be a King Arthur. He's pretty good
at that, yeah, Sir Lancelot of the.
Speaker 5 (06:50):
I mean as a dean like, wouldn't you encourage your
students to dress up? And wouldn't you dress up to
I would.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Think, But I don't know. Pedro strikes me as a
known nonsense boss is what he strikes me as. So
I'm guessing. I'm guessing it as the dean of the
Institution of Higher Learning. He was not into uh dress
up day. I mean it's so good. Yeah, that's so good.
That's so good. This is first one, first one? All right?
So he was can you do you want to say
(07:19):
who it is or what.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
No, it's a Coastbusters theme, that's all I'll say.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Okay, so now I want to see what All right, so,
oh man, this will break you. All right? No NBC,
NBC first, hollow. Oh yeah, that's that's unfortunate. NBC's first.
All my mother, My mom passed November first, so we
(07:46):
were that was his first all sorry that it happens.
Beamsy would have been the fourteenth. Let's see what he was,
do we not? We had to address him? What the
heck did we do? Maybe he didn't go, oh no, no, pumpkin, pumpkin,
A little pumpkin.
Speaker 4 (08:04):
Yeah, there he goes, Oh baby, is that a little
Braxton Miller there?
Speaker 3 (08:08):
Yeah? Yeah, for NBC was Braxton Miller. And then a
little pumpkin. He was a little pumpkin.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
I can't wait for this one. Now this is Bootsy's
got to be.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
So January sixteen, all right, let's see what boots was
first time. Oh, she ran it back pumpkin again she
pumpkin boy, we got it. We had a zoro. Let's
see if you can even identify what those the two
young ones are. She ran the pumpkin back for bootsy.
(08:37):
Look at his face.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
Unbelievable. And we got the missus as catwoman there, that's right. Yeah,
and that looks like black panther.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
Uh no, no, no, snake eyes from the IJO.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
Oh man, I would not have had that.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
And then NBC went.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
Got your money's worth out of that pumpkin cop We
did that. I don't remember.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Look at that kid. Yeah. His iconic one was when
he did is just The iconic one was the a
few years ago when he did Maverick. That was it.
That was one where I said, buddy, just trust me,
this one's going to be a big deal.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Was My favorite costume was a g.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
If you do it, that's going to be that's crazy.
You had the jumpsuit.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
Well, somebody that my dad had taught in school who
was not a big guy because he was a naval aviator. Yeah,
but somebody that my dad had taught at Moreau went
on to be a naval aviator. And then so I
had his jumpsuit.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
That's crazy.
Speaker 4 (09:35):
It was a real jumpsuit and then we patched it
up for it to be like you know, the Maverick
patches and all that.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Yeah, your your your folks are much more supportive. My
mom did, so I was I basically ran as Dracula.
I would say eighty percent of the time I was Draculus.
It was the white makeup, fake teeth, bit of red blood.
We had a black cape that I would vacillate between
Zoro or Dracula, and then it was always a I
am cold that Usually there was a winter coat that
(10:02):
the cape was draped over to do the best we
could with it. But I was thinking about, this, is
Dracula extinct. I haven't seen a kid dressed as Dracula
on Halloween ever.
Speaker 4 (10:14):
Is he's a guy who like sucks your blood and
kills you.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
I get it. But like when we were kids, it
was a lot of Dracula mummies, Frankenstein, y Krueger. I
didn't have a lot of that. I didn't have a
lot of that, But.
Speaker 4 (10:27):
Like a Dracula was real standard.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
I'm sure, yeah, there were Dracula's everybody. There was a
lot of Draculas. Now, I haven't seen a Dracula in years.
It's not in pop culture the way that it was.
And Dracula was funny too, because he would show up
on like Scooby Doo. You get a little Dracula on
Scooby Do.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
I don't even sure for sure, I don't even know
I'm texting the official nanacy if she has any Halloween
picks to send. I don't remember really what I was
outside of that of Maverick. I remember one year I
had this great uh nerd costume with like a mast
that was it was amazing, ready to go. Oh yeah,
one like I want to cost some contest in middle school.
I remember that.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
Yeah, there wasn't a whole lot of that. If I
wanted to be a football player, if I want to
be a football player, like it was like take this
helmet in that jersey, but they don't match. Doesn't matter,
that's what we're doing. Meantime, like a few years ago NBC,
he kind of figured it out like he would to
be like the one year He's like, I want to
be Baker Mayfield to get his jersey, so he had
to get like the full jersey. So he used it
(11:25):
as a kind of it to get the jersey, which
I thought was pretty crafty. Give me what was your
go to as a kid.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
So my parents, my mother was superhands on arts crafts.
She's a former teacher. Oh so she's so like if
you wanted something like the one year I went as
a night of the Roundtable, and like they'd love to
see that built this cardboard like it had tinfoil so
it was all shiny. I had had the whole thing
helmet that popped down that Gibbs made sure that we
(11:52):
had good costumes if we wanted them.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
That's awesome. It's so good it is. I'll tell you this.
It's built different here than where I grew up. Halloween.
Here is on a totally different level than where I
can't believe what's spent. There's a house we pass if
I swear to God, thirty life size skeletons, two giant
like eight footers. There's an animatronic werewolf. There's a Michael Myers,
(12:16):
there's a Krueger. There's adjacent all in one yard.
Speaker 6 (12:19):
This is like.
Speaker 7 (12:21):
Since like the week after Labor Day. It's crazy, all right.
Did you see when we flew in. When we flew
in from Providence, somewhere on that near west side, kind
of near the airport there, it looked like we flew
over Disney World. There were so many lights and all
I could see was it was like a neighborhood and
there was arches that I guess you would drive through
(12:43):
and I don't know if it's getting ready for Christmas
decorations or what. I couldn't tell the colors, but I
mean it was.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
I was like, whoa, it's built different here, man, I
mean they have the city of almost at Falls has
costume well like city like houses and contests like they award. Yeah,
it's substantial prizes for decorating your house.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
So I found out this this morning. Ohio has more
hanted houses than any other state in the Union by
a wide margin. Yep. The one that you could not
pay me to go is that blood prison. You guys
know about this.
Speaker 4 (13:20):
No, but I have no interest in a hanted house.
Speaker 5 (13:22):
Zero.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
No, they no good. The Mansfield Reformatory where they film
Shawshank Yeah, yeah, they do blood prison there. I just
want you to in your browser right now because I
want to look at your face when you pull this up.
Type in bloodprison dot com.
Speaker 5 (13:36):
I can tell you also, Yeah, for a certain price
around Halloween weekend. It might not be Halloween weekend, maybe
it's a weekend before the weekend after Like, you can
pay to spend the night there, and for more money
they'll put you in a selling locket. Come on, Coolis
has done this. He loves it, he loves the ghost
(13:57):
hunting and everything else. No, and it's oh I know, yeah,
it's insane.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
No that there is no dollar figure that gets me
in that place. Yeah, look at that. You imagine that.
I was talking to a guy this morning who said,
it's it's three floors that you have to go through
of the place they filmed Shawshank.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
No, thank you, dude, No way, man, no, no way.
Speaker 5 (14:22):
Nope, not big horror movie.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
Haunted house.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
Well, it's not a haunted house. It's a former state prison.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
Cake believe. It's built on real stone, real steel, and
real suffering. The high of State Reformatory locked up the
worst of the worst for nearly a century. And the
walls still remember every cell, every bowlt every shadow is
a story. Some of them never stopped. The warden's widow
still stalks, the tears, the ghost kind of rage, malformed guards, twisted,
broken things lurking, the dark faces warped into nightmares, inmates
long dead, still past their cages, waiting for you. You'll
(14:53):
walk under the looming weight of the world's largest free
standing steel stell block, then drop into the hole where
the screams never stopped. Isn't just a in house, It's
a history that just won't stay buried yet. No way,
I'm good.
Speaker 5 (15:06):
It's been real fun, but I'm out.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
Way. Dude guy was telling me he went through it
last year and he said the scariest thing was like
waiting to go in, like the anticipation of what was
going to No, yeah, no way, no way.
Speaker 5 (15:22):
Oh I remember the girls were like, you want to
go to the haunted House. I'm like great, Apparently there's
like you are not keeping me up all night.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
There's a YouTube video you can watch Blood Prison, full
contact Hunt. I was manhandled and says, can I take
moment appreciate that much? Jacob will continue to terrify himself
for amusement. So there's the guy who goes through it.
Speaker 5 (15:41):
I think you have the full man handled that Like
do I get to throw a right hook?
Speaker 3 (15:46):
No?
Speaker 5 (15:47):
Because have you come in manhandled?
Speaker 3 (15:49):
No?
Speaker 4 (15:50):
No way, no I no, I don't get I don't.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
No neither, don't touch me no no no. Every I like.
Speaker 4 (15:58):
A horror movie that can is like psychological blair Witch,
Like I thought blair Witch was really blair Witch was
terrifying because it was it was They did a great
job marketing and pretending.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
That it was before the internet too.
Speaker 4 (16:11):
Yes, and that was incredible. So I watched that with
the kids and it holds up. But it doesn't hold
up okay, like it's not I think in today's it's
not fast enough.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
We're exposed to so much more like the part of
part of the reason and I went to the theater.
I think all of this the part of the thing.
It's really markable in retrospect that they were able to
keep it under wraps and be so ambiguous with it
the whole run, the whole run, and it wasn't until
well after that though that that I mean, it's really
(16:45):
wild that they were able to pull that thing off
because that yeah, that was.
Speaker 5 (16:49):
Like in Vermilion.
Speaker 4 (16:51):
But I don't like like just like.
Speaker 5 (16:52):
Oh, I think that's the last one. The last one
I went to. There was a haunted Uh it was
like an orphanage and it had caught fire and a
bunch of like this is back way back where yeah, yeah,
a bunch of children had passed like it's a it's
the hunted orphanage schoolhouse And I'm like, nah, halfway through.
(17:13):
I'm like, all right, where's the exit? This is uh,
I'm done with all of this. How about where's the candy?
Do I get a reward for getting through this? Give
me a rollo something? How about a starburst tu peck
get out of this thing?
Speaker 3 (17:30):
No, uh, it's never been for me either, So but
be safe out there the next couple of nights, for
sure get your questions into give me on the mail big.
We'll get to that coming up in the second hour
of the program. Those are your hot topics today, presented

Speaker 3 (18:33):
About tours and how this facility helps grow our circular economy.
It is a little segment we like to call conduct
to ze guess the scores, and the answer to that
has been oh, baby Canny, you're undefeated.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
Ay and oh now this week I will not get
the benefit.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Come on in here, g man, Come on in here.
Thank you, g man.
Speaker 4 (18:56):
Oh, this is what I like to have because now
I write, I got you things that I make my
notes here. This this get helps me visualize. This is not
you know, I don't have the benefit of having the usually.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Get a one with us because you can't avoid that one. Yea,
So none of those buys this week us the Eagles,
the Bucks, and the Jets. We will start with a
little Thursday night football and it is the Baltimore Ravens
at the Miami Dolphins. Al Michaels, kirkurb Street and Kaylee
(19:28):
Hartung on the call.
Speaker 4 (19:29):
Do you think we will get a kirk Herb Street
public apology for the way that he eviscerated Carson Wentz
last week. Now that we know the guy basically had
one arm and literally was playing with a torn labrum,
a fractured shoulder and had a crazy kid because he
was tough on him for he was brutal showing how
(19:52):
much more he was in.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
Yeah, he was. You're a leader, you.
Speaker 4 (19:55):
Got a tough en up.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
And it was very strange. I thought it was a
very strange choice. Yes for him, because he he doesn't
that's not his m O. He doesn't go at athletes players.
He's usually not hyper critical. He's usually glasses half full
on everything. Yeah, so I thought the tone of it
was was very strange and odd. I don't know that
(20:16):
he would have any previous dealings with that would make
it personal in any way, but it almost came across
that way. He should, Yeah, he should, but you know,
I don't know if he will, but he should. It
was I thought it was out of line.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
I thought, yeah, I mean, now you know what he
was doing. Now, the fact that he even came back
and played against us his borderline insane, Yes, yes, and
also like and sad for us.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
It also was a little bit of just as a
little bit of a tangent here. It was kind of
strange to me that that they still thought that was
a better option than JJ McCarthy JJ's health because there's
a lot of rumor about the JJ injury and the
severity of it and was he ready earlier or not
or whatever. There's a lot of that going around.
Speaker 4 (20:56):
I think he may have been ready this past week.
But did you because you saw the play on the
sideline did where he had to jump over Yeah, and
did not jump like a man who was no injured. No,
he did not react in any.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
Way, No, like someone who had a bum ankle.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
Like who was like, oh no, I gotta get my
ankle out of the way. It was like I'm gonna
hop over you and then I'm gonna cheer.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Yeah, yeah, No, that was sure. Ravens at Dolphins, all.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
Right, Uh Ravens minus seven?
Speaker 3 (21:28):
Got it. I'm gonna be honest with you. I think
that it's seven and a half. I think seven and
a half, which is a number that I don't think
that we used to see a lot all the time.
Is all the time. I feel like every week there
are a handful of seven and a half's used to
always be six and a half. Yeah, now they're going
the other way. They're going they're putting the hook on
(21:49):
the on the other side of it.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
Well, it's interesting because last week there were at least
let's see, I shake can tell you an exact number.
Last week there was one, two, three, four, five. I
have six games that if I had guessed just seven
would have gotten it. I don't know if this week
will be as big. We'll see.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
All right, we are on to the Sunday slate et.
Speaker 4 (22:08):
It looks like it.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
Maybe these are your one o'clock games. Okay, we are
starting in Cincinnati, where now all of a sudden we
have a questionable Joe Flacco.
Speaker 4 (22:18):
Situation on that is that affecting it?
Speaker 3 (22:21):
I don't know. I couldn't tell you. It is Bears
at Bengals. This is a Spiro, Adam and Adidi. These
are our guys. It's there, it's our group. These guys
have been with us a lot over the over the years.
Bears at Bengals.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
So the Bears were seven point dogs on the road
to the Ravens.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
I think that the Ravens are better than the Bengals
of Bengals minus three.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
That'd being correct Bears minus two and a half Bears.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
So then I would say that says that they think
Flaco's not playing. That's what I think.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
I don't know, maybe I don't know. Do you think
Flacco's ten points? Flacco it's in sinci? Is he worth
five five and a half?
Speaker 5 (23:06):
No?
Speaker 4 (23:07):
I mean I think would be.
Speaker 5 (23:08):
But is it TJ Hockinson not hot Henderson could be.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
Could be like Bears off and they did lose to
the Jets. They did that, they would.
Speaker 4 (23:19):
Be okay, all right, that's a toughie.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
It's a fine pup.
Speaker 4 (23:22):
There's a fine looking.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
Good all right.
Speaker 6 (23:26):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
We are in Detroit where they paid everybody. Uh everyone's
everyone's getting paid in Detroit. That's what happens when you draft, well,
you can resign your guys. And they got a bunch
of home grown. They are hosting the Minnesota Vikings. This
is your Kevin Burkhart, Tom Brady, Aaron Andrews, Tom Ronaldi
game Vikings at Leo's.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
The Vikings which they had kept Sam Darnold. They're not good.
I don't think this is seven because seven's like it's
common now. But I don't think this is ten. Ten
seems a much. What's what let's split the difference, hm hmm.
(24:17):
Lions yep, Like I think it's at least seven and
a half lions minus.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
Eight incorrect lions minus nine and a half, nine and
a half. Staying in the one o'clock window. Panthers at
Green Bay Packers Adam Mammin Greg Olsen, Pam Oliver on
the call from Lambeo Field Packers at Packer.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
Packers minus seven and a half.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
Packer's minus thirteen and a half.
Speaker 5 (24:49):
This is just I love where this is all going on.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
These numbers are give me you got to think about
like you're like a don't talk to a pitcher and
a no hitter, Like, be careful because he's go he'll.
Speaker 8 (25:00):
Go on a four games. I want to get him motivated.
I have put Nathan through the ringer today already. Yeah,
this is like his eighth show of the day. We've
taped a lot of things.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
Chargers would say, sub would say, you could if you
didn't see us on television right now or at least
on your YouTube. Uh. Chargers at Titans, Tom McCarthy, Ross
Tucker and Amanda Bardona's Chargers at.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
Titans, Chargers minus nine?
Speaker 3 (25:31):
Got it, Chargers minus eight and a half.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
I mean these numbers are nuts. Falcons we have we
have one game so far, we have seven and a half,
eight and a half, thirteen and a half and nine. Yep,
this is gonna be a big one too.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
Yep. This is Falcons at Patriots. Catalan Davis mccordy ross
on the call. Falcons at Patriots. We were five. I
think that's it. I think it it was five and
a half or six and a half.
Speaker 4 (26:01):
We were five and a half.
Speaker 5 (26:02):
We were six and a half.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Is that what it ended up? I think when we
did scores it was five and a half, but I
could be wrong.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
Six and a half's on the spreadsheet. Okay. It just
feels like it's gonna be bigger because they smoked us,
and the Falcons just got smoked by the Dolphins.
Speaker 6 (26:19):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
Patriots minus seven and a half incorrect?
Speaker 3 (26:26):
Patriots minus five and a half.
Speaker 5 (26:28):
What the goats? Falcons are back.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
They're back, baby, They're back. I don't know. It's a
weird week. Is Pennic' back what I think they think
he's going to be But I haven't heard anything official yet.
Speaker 4 (26:40):
I mean, there's only two that I could have gotten
on any kind of a normal number. That's from the
fact that I've gotten in too. I actually I am
pretty pumped about.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
The team of your youth. The San Francisco forty nine
Ers at the New York no longer Scataboo Giants. Harlan
Green Melanie Collins on the call, Niners.
Speaker 4 (26:59):
At GM and Niners minus seven.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
Niners minus two and a half.
Speaker 5 (27:05):
You are a hot mess, and I am here for
all of it.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
These don't make sense, though it's all over the I know,
I'm with you. Why would the Niners barely be favored
over the Giants? I don't know. Maybe because they lost
last week to Houston, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (27:19):
I mean, but they were underdogs in that game.
Speaker 5 (27:21):
They were.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
If we recall the Indianapolis Colts at the Pittsburgh Steelers,
Iron Eagle, JJ Watt and Evan Washburn on the.
Speaker 5 (27:31):
Call one o'clock games, it's a very good one.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
Colts minus three and a half.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
Got it exactly here, you go.
Speaker 5 (27:44):
You just needed me to talk some trash.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
That's all you need a little motivation That final game
in the one o'clock slate, it is Denver at Houston.
Denver at Houston. Another good game, Denver.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
If it's Houston, he's so pissed Denver minus two and
a half.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
You're gonna be pissed. Yes, Houston minus one and a half.
Because I would have It's funny, I would have said
Denver minus three and a half is what I would
have thought on that.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
I thought because last week Houston was favor They obviously
like Houston, so it would be under three. That's why
I thought it might be two.
Speaker 5 (28:27):
Yeah, all right, in tease, losing record, thanks for playing.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
Does it? No? No, no, no, that's very get them
all in the eighty six. Yeah, I know, but he's
got five.
Speaker 4 (28:40):
Left, five games left.
Speaker 5 (28:41):
Give detail. Come on you tape today, way too many.
I have math in my head, I have numbers as
a girl. I have more for you tape like I
have in my head that I cannot get rid of.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Get rid of it, all right, parlcockslate Jacksonville at Vegas,
Kenny Albert, Jonathan Villma and Megan Oliviy on this one.
Jacksonville aren't very good either. JAG's minus three and a
half got it exactly.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
Good job at you. I've just totally screwed myself on this.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
Yeah, I think you have.
Speaker 5 (29:15):
Now he goes on the run.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
Saints Tyler Shuck making his first start at the Los
Angeles Rams. Chris Meyers, Mark Schlereth, Christina Pink on the
call they had us in this past week. Yeah, they
did a good jobat I thought it was good. I
really thought they did a good job. Here's a pro. Yeah,
he's a pros pro. I thought they did a really
good job. It was a it was a pleasurable Listen, there's.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
One Rams minus fourteen and a half.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
So here's what I was going to say. If you
get this one, then you're not missing another one. And
you got it exactly.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
That's called Yeah, Gibb, you think I'm not missing another one.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
I think you're getting the rest. Chiefs at Bills. I
forgot this was this. This will be the game to watch.
I'm gonna putts around in the early window. This will
be the one I'll watch. Chiefs at Bills, Nance Romo Wolfson.
Game of the week might have to move up that
tea time for you. Don't give away all my secrets here, easy,
give me easy. Chiefs at Bills.
Speaker 5 (30:26):
It's a bye week.
Speaker 4 (30:27):
That's why well, this is what I've written. This is
what I've written, So I'm gonna say it. I don't
think that the Chiefs would be three and a half.
I think it would be more likely that they would
be two than it would be that they would be
three and a half because pill Pilill still think the Bills.
But the Chiefs are the best team in the league.
Chiefs better be favored. And I've got Chiefs two and
a half.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
Why didn't you just yes, yes, it's one and a half.
Speaker 8 (30:54):
Yes, I thought you had you said two, and you
I wrote down two.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
Wh I wrote down two and a half? Why I
want to be one and a half?
Speaker 3 (31:02):
So close?
Speaker 4 (31:02):
What kind of a line is that? That's a hard
one for you to think. I was gonna get that.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
I thought you were gonna get I thought you want
to say half. I thought you were to say two.
They're gonna be on two and a half.
Speaker 6 (31:13):
Three.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
It's big to me. It feels like a Pickham, like
in the old Pickham days. Casey Buffalo in Buffalo, Me.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
I felt like a three, but I knew it wasn't
gonna be over three, So I went two and a
half so I could get three. Two and a half
and two. I didn't one and a half. I didn't
see that coming.
Speaker 3 (31:30):
All right, So first losing week, well, I guess you
could be you could be five hundred.
Speaker 4 (31:36):
No, yeah, it could be.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
Okay, you're a both, Yeah, you're okay? All right?
Speaker 6 (31:42):
All right?
Speaker 5 (31:43):
Was it over the Germans?
Speaker 4 (31:44):
I can't believe that's wrong.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
Son, Well, that's not. I mean, dude, some of these
we've missed by eight points.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
I mean that craziness that one one and a half
is just a third number?
Speaker 5 (31:53):
All right?
Speaker 3 (31:54):
Uh, Seahawks at commis Cherico Collinsworth and Melissa Stark on
the call for not saying, well.
Speaker 4 (32:01):
Seahawks three and a half.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
Got it exactly? I mean, it's it's all there here.
It is for five hundred money. And to avoid his first.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
Losingness, cowboys minus three got it?
Speaker 3 (32:18):
Cowboys minus two and a half, a rally on the
likes of which we've never seen, preserves a five hundred week,
even as you've been tasked with tapings after tapings, this chief,
podcasts and interviews and all of the things that have
been thrust upon you. Despite at one point being three
(32:38):
and six in the scores, he rallied, gentleman, you said
it was over, and it was overgiven it was not over.
He got it back. Even you thought it was over.
Speaker 5 (32:48):
I thought it was over twice he.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
Thought it was over.
Speaker 6 (32:50):
Two.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
I go, you could be five hundred twice.
Speaker 5 (32:54):
All right.
Speaker 4 (32:54):
The three that are the three that happened really pissed
or four that have me really pissed. The Patriots Falcons
being a lower line than our game last week, Okay,
just and not because us it's us in Atlanta side
by side, although we did just whoop the team that
just whooped Atlanta, but just because I think the Patriots,
it's like, Okay, these people.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
Are like they're quite real. They're quite real. Yeah, the
Niners only being what were the Niners? The Niners were
two and a half, two.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
And a half against the scataboolist Giants.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
That rookie quarterback, Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 4 (33:30):
That one pissed me off. And then Broncos being underdogs
pissed me off.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
And then the Chiefs like one and a half, one
and a half.
Speaker 4 (33:40):
Give me two, two and a half. Three these seem
very reasonable. One and a half.
Speaker 3 (33:45):
He still won.
Speaker 4 (33:47):
Well, I'm even like Mike Tomlin, I've not had a
losing season that's it.
Speaker 3 (33:50):
That's it. There you go, all right, come off the Browns.
I just think it's to me, the story of it
is the rally that you had to get the last two,
the heartbreak of the Kansas City loss. Yeah, I was
gonna run off five in a row for them. I thought,
that's shocker. When we went to the four o'clock slate,
I said, if you get the Rams, you're not missing again.
(34:11):
I thought you were going to go into today. You
when you said that that meant three. That just that
it would get that. I just needed to be on
the right side around three. The right side of three
did a mislead. No, I don't want to. I just
wanted a half want. I would never have.
Speaker 4 (34:26):
Said, don't put that hate on me, Rick, I'm not putting.
I would have never said that. Wouldn't have come out
of my mouth.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
Okay, all right, Well either way, they're so dominant right
now that it feels like it's three good less. They'd
bet they went to Carolina, who was pretty good at
home forty to nine. It's over it. It's done off
a bible. Their handling, their business. Did they beat the
Chiefs last year?
Speaker 4 (34:48):
I don't care if the Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
Are they did right? Now? They're rolling all right? It
is the next segment that is sweeping the nation. It's
a little bit of College Football Nate coming up next.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
You get a lot of hate in that segment.
Speaker 3 (34:59):

Your one stop shop for football, the collegiate variety. It's
time for four downs with your uncle, Corporate Bow and
(35:47):
College Football Nate. Hello, gibbeg we have a trade, Oh baby.
Speaker 5 (35:52):
The Jets are sending corner Michael Carter and a twenty
twenty seven seventh rounder to the Eagles make change for
wide receiver John Mitchie and at twenty twenty seven to six.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
John Metchi, yes on his third team.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
Now, yeah, he was the poor kid who got cancer
out of Alabama and yeah.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
Yeah, got to keep you on your toes.
Speaker 4 (36:16):
I got excited though that I know.
Speaker 5 (36:18):
Circle back. Come on, No, you don't. You don't want
to trade at this point in the ball game. You're right,
you don't want to trade at this point.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
Anybody can do anything they want. An hour and seventeen minutes.
Speaker 5 (36:28):
You got it right there?
Speaker 4 (36:30):
Stay there, dude, We're on vacation. Yep, sorry, who new phone?
Wos nothing we can't break down next Monday.
Speaker 5 (36:41):
That's right, keV hit it first down. Ohio State and
Indiana seemed destined for a twelve and OH versus twelve
and OH clash in the Big Ten championship game. If
you're either of these teams, you likely have a CFP
spot locked up. What's the incentive to play your starters
game college football?
Speaker 2 (37:02):
Mate?
Speaker 4 (37:03):
Well, maybe I don't understand it, but I think that
there is. First of all, there's pride in running the
whole table and going undefeated. But wouldn't winning the Big Ten?
Speaker 3 (37:16):
Would that not.
Speaker 4 (37:17):
Give you better seating. Yeah, so that's the reason, right,
I think the way the reason to buy well.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
But I think both are going to get a buye.
I think both of them winner. If they both get
to that game at twelve and oh they're both get by,
they're gonna be top four sets no matter what happens
in that game.
Speaker 4 (37:34):
I would punish if college football Nate was running the
bowl system and you opted out of playing in your
conference championship game to I would ding you. I would
just be like, then you're playing.
Speaker 5 (37:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
The the whenever they do this next round of expansion,
they need to eliminate the conference championship games because it
is redundant. There is no reason to do it. They
were put in place as moneymakers for the conferences from
the television partners. So all they have to do is
just work those into the round of the playoff and
the way you go and you're good because it's a mess.
You're exactly right. This is it's ridiculous. Now if you're
(38:07):
Ohio State. I think there's two things. Two of my
all time favorite movies. Number One, they want to do
what they say can't be done, so they want to
be perfect. No, one's ever been sixteen, you know, so
they want to be the first sixteen to oh team
to ever do it. So they're chasing hiss, some in
perfection or some perfection and some history along the way.
The other thing is another one of my favorite movies,
(38:27):
Paul Fiction Pride. They haven't won a Big Ten championship
now in a few years. It's been a while since
High States won a Big Ten championship. So I think
there's that part of it too, that they, you know,
beat Michigan, win the Big Ten, win the national title.
That's kind of the checklist. But it is absurd. It's
it's utterly ridiculous that these things are still in place
and they with a twelve team playoff, haven't just gotten
(38:47):
rid of them. But so many of these people don't
want to give money back yep, And so then till
they find a way to recoup it in another way,
they won't. They'll they'll keep playing them, but there's no
reason to play.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
Them next second down.
Speaker 5 (39:01):
Thing or not a thing. Brian Kelly's firing and subsequent
fifty four million dollar payout brings the amount of money
ode to fired FBS coaches this season to one hundred
and sixty seven point seven million. Obviously a lot of
cash being tossed around. If you're Wisconsin or Auburn, do
you even bother trying to hop into this coaching carousel
(39:23):
with all the top tier jobs available?
Speaker 3 (39:26):
All right?
Speaker 4 (39:27):
First of all, I don't the thing or not a thing.
I mean it's ay, it is a thing. Things, it's happened,
it's real, So yes, that would make it a thing.
Follow up question, Uh, we have, you know, connections with
some prominent wisconsinights. It does not feel like they are
jumping into anything in a top tier way. Auburn though
(39:50):
it's Auburn, I see. It feels like to me that
would be a team that would want to jump into
the mix.
Speaker 3 (39:56):
They're not on the level of LSU, Florida or Brighton State,
so they're underneath that. In terms of the the job,
I think it's the fourth of those would be the
fourth best job available. They have a lot of money.
Speaker 4 (40:08):
I'm new to this. Yeah, but there was a time
like obviously Cam yeah, and there have been a lot
of but you are for a while it was like
Auburn and Alabama. It's not anymore.
Speaker 3 (40:17):
Yeah, I think it's I mean Auburn you're right. Auburn
won the national title with cam then they played for
it in two thousand they lost to Florida State, And
was that like thirteen, Yeah, thirteen they lost or they
lost Florida State in the national title game. A stretch
there they were really impressive. Actually won it with gene Chiswick,
which is crazy. But the problem with Auburn is you're
(40:38):
always second fiddle in your own state Obama, let alone
in your conference and nationally. So it's still probably a
top twenty job in the country. Yeah, but you're jump
you're jumping off point is your second in your own state,
So it's to me it's a worst job than Florida.
I think LSU is the best one that's opened this
cycle because they've won national championships with three different coaches
(40:59):
in twenty five years, So that tells me that's a great,
great job. Florida is a tricky one because they're only
great when they've had all time great coaches Spurrier and Meyer. Well,
they don't have one of those guys. They're middling at best.
Florida Penn State has a ton of money, but the
location is a real problem, and the state of Pennsylvania
does not produce high school football talent the way that
it did twenty five thirty years ago. So you're gonna
(41:22):
have to beat Ohio State for some guys in the
DMV and in those areas. So those are the things
that are all challenging about Penn State. I still think
it's the second best. I'd go LSU Penn State, Florida.
If Auburn jumped in, they'd go to four.
Speaker 4 (41:33):
I think Wisconsin's on, like not even it's in a
different team.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
Yeah, and I don't know the I mean, Joe would
know that better than anybody, But you know, we've had
him on and we've teased, like Kim and the Wats
got to come together and get some money to throw
it around. I'm you have to have now motivated ultra
wealthy boosters who are willing to write big, big checks.
The other thing that's really interesting about this is this
(41:57):
is a very NFL way of doing things. Brian Callahan
was at Tennessee for a year and a half and
they pulled the plug. College football coaches, in large part
because of superagent Jimmy Sexton, have been given seven year
contracts to hire eight year, nine year, ten year deals
and one hundred million dollars like these crazy numbers. I
(42:19):
do wonder if the universities will push back on that
now and say, fine, if the going rate is ten
million a year, okay, good, but it's going to be
over three years, not seven, because these buyouts are untenable
and the NFL doesn't have this, And if we're going
to go to NFL hiring and firing coaches, then we
got to go to NFL contracts too.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
Next turn down.
Speaker 5 (42:43):
Is the SEC bias among AP voters. Reel for context.
Alabama's number four seven and one, a fourteen point lost,
un ranked Florida State is now three and four. Oregon's
not on that.
Speaker 3 (43:02):
Oregon sixth. There are two spots behind Bama. They're one
spot behind Georgia. Got okayhere, India, I screwed up your question.
Speaker 5 (43:11):
Number six Oregon seven to one, lost number five Indiana,
number eight Georgia Tech win over number twelve Clemson, number
fourteen Tennessee best win at Mississippi State. Two losses to
Georgia and Bama. Louisville six and one in the ACC.
Best win was at number two Miami. They lost to
number twenty four Virginia who is now number fifteen.
Speaker 4 (43:33):
Here's a right good said, like, is s SEC bias
amongst voters a real thing? Yes it is, But the
real question we should be asking ourselves is is that wrong?
And the answer to that is no, it is not
wrong because they play significantly harder schedules day in and
day out. The competition is better. You've got right now one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight,
(43:59):
nine teams in the SEC that are ranked. You've got
five of the top ten. They just play better competition
bottom line, week in and week out. So, yes, there
is bias, but that bias is warranted given what they've
got going on in the SEC.
Speaker 3 (44:17):
A little bit of both. There is a bias. What's
surprising to me is there's a bias against the big ten,
which is crazy, like Washington should be ranked. If you
watch Washington play this year and you've watched Texas play
this year, there's no way you would say Texas is
better than Washington. Another example of the SEC bias is this,
what is giving you a reason to move Tennessee up
three spots in the poll? Why would you move Texas
(44:40):
up two spots in the poll? Texas got lucky and
survived Kentucky two weeks ago. At Kentucky I watched they
got as lucky as can be last Saturday, surviving Mississippi State,
who's bad. Survive that, and somehow they move up two spots. Meantime, Iowa,
whose losses are to Iowa State in a rivalry game
and to Indiana by five, that's it. They are not ranked.
(45:02):
Washington's not ranked and their losses are to their losses
are to Ohio State and at Michigan Illinois they did
and so the Big Tens disrespect is pretty wild. What
they do every week with this thing is they find
a reason to elevate an SEC team. All of that
to be said, when you have a sixteen team conference,
(45:23):
you're gonna play more heavy hitters. You just are. And
when you added Texas and Oklahoma, that's part of it,
and so most of it I think they get right.
But I think the thing that is surprising to me
is why teams like Washington and Iowa like it took
forever for USC to get back into the poll. USC
is a cadillact. They're five and two. They lost by
(45:46):
ten to Notre Dame and they lost by two to
Illinois on the last play of the game. Those are
their only losses. They beat Michigan thirty one to thirteen,
and they barely got back into the pole. That stuff
is wrong. Giving benefit of the doubt to some of
these SEC teams that are really middling and there shouldn't
be ten of them ranked to five Big Ten teams.
(46:08):
That's not right. The difference between those two leagues is
not that big.
Speaker 4 (46:11):
So let me ask you this. This is just college
football naked, and you know, questions popping them. Sure, So
I've listed out what I think of the top eight
teams in the Big Ten. Top eight, yes, okay, Ohio State, Indiana, Oregon, Michigan,
USC and I went with those just because they're ranked
in that order. Iowa Washington then is eight. Nebraska, Uh yeah,
(46:36):
probably okay, So then you've got to pull it up.
Speaker 3 (46:39):
Let me just pull it to make sure. But it
could be.
Speaker 4 (46:41):
Yeah, Texas A and m Bama, Georgia, Ole, miss Vandy, Tennessee, Missouri,
Oklahoma would be the eight. On the other side that
does not include Texas, YEA or LSU or Florida or
anybody what. So I think Ohio State would be favored.
Speaker 3 (47:03):
Yep. If you went.
Speaker 4 (47:04):
Cross cross cross cross cross. Is anybody else in the
Big ten favored?
Speaker 3 (47:08):
Let me see it real quick. Ohio State for sure. Uh,
Indiana would be interesting. I mean they're an Indiana band,
really tight. I think Oregon to be favored over Georgia, Michigan, O.
Miss would be very tight. I think USC would be
favored over Vandy, Tennessee, Iowa would be very close. Washington,
(47:32):
Missouri would be close. They'd all be within a field goal.
Speaker 4 (47:36):
So if that's the case, then then I think we've
proven that. You would say the disrespect is very real
because if the Big ten.
Speaker 3 (47:43):
Is being disrespected, and I think there's brand loyalty to
Big to the SEC that is not there for the
Big ten. Yep. And I think I'm guilty of this too,
Like I have a hard time believing in Indiana. I
pick them not to cover every week, and every week
they annihilate. Like at some point you have to put
respect on it.
Speaker 5 (48:00):
They've taken it. Like you thought they were going to
take maybe a step back this year last year.
Speaker 4 (48:05):
Nope, They're differential is bigger than the Buckeyes.
Speaker 3 (48:07):
Oh dude.
Speaker 5 (48:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (48:08):
They went to Oregon and won by two scores in
in Eugene.
Speaker 4 (48:13):
In conference good I mean in conference They're differential is
plus one three Buckeyes is plus and that's in five games.
Buck guys is plus one oh nine in four games. Overall,
their differential is almost plus three hundred.
Speaker 3 (48:28):
They did play they played nobody in the non conference,
so played Texas.
Speaker 4 (48:31):
But I mean even in other dinfer instance.
Speaker 3 (48:33):
But the other thing there with Ohio State is Ryan
is not trying to do that. He's trying to play
the fewest plays possible to save his guys for the
end of the season. So the approach is a little different.
Where Signetty is trying to sure bomb people, He's like
trying to prove a point every single week for sure.
Speaker 4 (48:49):
So interesting. So then based on just the little exercise
that we went through, then yes, there is a big
big byes. The reality is what we need to do
here because I'm going to make a statement right now
this is college football, maybe a statement, and the statement
is this, there will not be another national champion in
football that is not from the SEC or the Big Ten.
Speaker 3 (49:11):
Ever, Notre Dame would be the only one that I
would because they got close last year. They need Freeman's
recruiting like a maniac, so they need to keep as
long as they have a money him, keep him. And
then and there's talk about a fifteen million dollars a
year deal for him because all these places want him.
LSU's coming for him, Penn State's coming for him.
Speaker 4 (49:33):
Number two to that is that I also believe in
some near period in the future, that's all there's gonna be. Yeah,
I think Notre Dame should be in the big.
Speaker 3 (49:46):
Ten, Yes, for sure. I think what you're what you will.
I think in a way this will be a lot
like what's happened with our with cable versus our streamers.
How now, like the streamers are trying to recreate cable,
like they're bundling them all together so you can get
everything under one ad app. I think what's eventually gonna
happen with college football is they're gonna go, you know what,
let's have the the AFC and the NFC, except it's
(50:07):
North and South or East and West or whatever. Probably
North and South would be the one to do it.
And and these we're gonna have little divisions, and one
of them is gonna be in the Pacific Northwest, and
one's gonna be on the coast and one's gonna be
on this coast, and and we're gonna take these forty
eight teams, and these are the teams that are gonna
play for championships, and everybody else is gonna play for
something else. That's where I think we're headed. Yeah, all right,
(50:27):
real quick.
Speaker 5 (50:29):
I think it's impressive too, Like Indiana Vandy missoo. I mean,
they're making those schools relevant.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
That's why a lot of these firings are taking place though,
because people are if you're at Auburn and you're going, wow,
in the hell is Vanderbilt ranked tenth? We're Auburn. Forget.
Speaker 5 (50:46):
They decided to get into football.
Speaker 3 (50:48):
They wrote agency, they got into it, and Indiana did too.
Great story a couple of weeks ago. I can't remember
where it was that. It was when Oregon was playing
at or Indios playing at Oregon. Cuban's involvement, I mean,
you're talking like Vanderbilt's got a ten billion dollar endowment.
If they want to start, if they want to be
great at football, they can be good at football. You
just need to write checks.
Speaker 5 (51:10):
Yeah, one final one, fourth down? All right, I'm gonna
save our fourth down question for Monday, all right, because
that's going to lead into Tuesday's program. Yeah, in a
big day Tuesday, yep. I might even save this other one.
I have to give flowers. This is my fourth down.
(51:33):
It doesn't even involve you guys, all right. Somehow, some way,
Eddie George and Bowling Green lost to Kent State on Saturday.
Speaker 3 (51:41):
Really, Oh yeah, jeez, Eddie my man.
Speaker 5 (51:45):
Wheels on the ground in Providence, Rhode Island. Flip on
the phone. Where are we at with the BG Kent game?
The first text I get from the g Man? How
did you guys lose to Kent? I wanted to throw
my phone against the exterior, the interior of the plane.
(52:05):
I wanted to break a few things. Somehow, some way
flashes to and two whole year making fun of them.
Speaker 3 (52:13):
Flashes two and two mane after it.
Speaker 5 (52:16):
So there we go. That's college football.
Speaker 3 (52:18):
Very good, very good. Ceciliano coming up next.
Speaker 4 (52:22):
Did he make any threats to g Man?
Speaker 3 (52:24):

By favorite most memorable Halloween costume is a kid, okay,
and your favorite candy or treat, because we're all old enough,
like sure that sometimes you get something that now perhaps
wouldn't go past the censors. But in the old days,
I mean, we had a lady who handed out chocolate
glazed donuts that were unbelievable homemade. So what do you
got for me on those two fronts, buddy?
Speaker 9 (53:40):
Well, I'm a Star Wars dork of that age, and
one of my favorites by far was when I had
a like a Luke Skywalker X wing Fighter costume.
Speaker 3 (53:51):
Oh baby, it was what orange?
Speaker 6 (53:53):
Yeah, that yellowy orangeish suit. It was orange.
Speaker 3 (53:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (53:56):
And then my brother also had that year that Darth
Vader masks. So I was Luke and he was Vader,
which was kind of reversed because I was the older
one he was the younger one. But we did that,
or maybe no, take it back, maybe the other way around.
Maybe I was Vader and he was. I gotta find
the picture, but it was definitely when we went Star Wars.
There's another year where I went as a smurf and
I made the mask in art class in school. Go
(54:18):
ahead and make the smurf jokes. That one worked, certainly.
Trying to think what else I was a pirate one year.
Speaker 3 (54:27):
I don't remember.
Speaker 9 (54:29):
But my favo my favorite candies I was a big
fan of, like the KitKat and.
Speaker 6 (54:38):
What was the other one that had like cookies inside.
Speaker 3 (54:40):
That's a twist buddy.
Speaker 9 (54:41):
The twigs, Yeah, the Twigs and Twist Cat, big fan
of that. And any gummies like the old gummy bears
before like what we call now gummies, but like gummy
bears and all that back then.
Speaker 3 (54:55):
Anything the clarifier on the other because yeah, in the
old days, way different than they do that very different,
very different.
Speaker 9 (55:07):
I just want to clarify because maybe the kids listening
right now true think something otherwise.
Speaker 4 (55:11):
Are you able to see what we've done here?
Speaker 6 (55:15):
Hold on?
Speaker 9 (55:16):
I had the YouTube stream on earlier, but I was
listening rather than watching. I was making some lunch. Hold On,
one day.
Speaker 4 (55:24):
We've updated the photo.
Speaker 3 (55:26):
We still need to get that one. I'm sorry, no way,
don't it's perfect down there? No, I know, but like
you've got it's a double. Yeah, we still needed we
need three. I'm Sicilian.
Speaker 4 (55:37):
I'm a bigger fan of the one of them.
Speaker 3 (55:39):
I bet you are, but I think you need we
need one. We need another. I know some other people
the third Sicilian you said it is there a we
have three. We have two Sicilianas. Again, what we need
is we'd like a three Siciliano. When anytime we have you.
Speaker 6 (55:57):
For some reason, it's not it's not working there.
Speaker 5 (56:00):
There might be a new stream that we had to launch.
Speaker 4 (56:05):
Anyway, it's beautiful. Was that from Baltimore?
Speaker 3 (56:08):
It's you and Z peering into the distance as if
you were pointing out the new land for the first sea. Yeah,
duorn like.
Speaker 6 (56:22):
A ship, Yes, that's right sea where Because you're weren't
the pink What do we.
Speaker 4 (56:26):
Put I think Joe, maybe todd heap. We might have
been pointing a todd heap.
Speaker 6 (56:31):
Or the booth location or the press box.
Speaker 4 (56:34):
Yes, I don't know, but where where We have serious
purse lips as well, which is great.
Speaker 3 (56:37):
I don't know what I'm doing.
Speaker 4 (56:39):
That's a snaps you know why that shot better as well?
Speaker 9 (56:45):
That shot looks better because it's not like this side
by side, like you know, arm over the shoulder, look
where where it? It looks like it looks like I'm
your child and you're taking me out of I did
get difference?
Speaker 3 (57:02):
This was this natural? Or did this?
Speaker 4 (57:05):
What did you guys pose this? This was just Yeah,
we had no idea that this picture was being taken.
We did have a So there was a Halloween costume
contest in the in the office and the winners ended
up winning some nice cash, some cash you might say
they crush it. And it was Omar, who does security
(57:25):
at the stadium, and I couldn't reckon. I couldn't know
who the other one was because their costumes were so good.
But they did twins. So Omar was the Veto and
and the other ones and it was so good. It
stopped us in the show. So if we ever get
a game on Halloween, I think that's what we should do.
Speaker 9 (57:41):
Well, sorry, but there's a picture in a text thread
among all. I mean, we have too many text threats,
so we got to consolidate them. By the way, and
it's me in Gibbet doing the pod in the off season.
Best pot available, right, and the two of us and
we have you know side by. It's a little more noticeable, respectfully,
(58:02):
Nathan than you and I and we yes, we did
a twins and I think we might have also. I
think I threw in a my giant Giants.
Speaker 4 (58:11):
Well yeah, George Marathon.
Speaker 3 (58:13):
You are you are part of I think the greatest
Halloween costume ever in the history of the National Football
League with you in the haff, I mean, how did that?
How did that come about? How did you guys? How
did you do it? A third picture? There you go?
Third picture? How did that happen? How did that come about?
I mean, I I didn't even know you at that time,
and it was the funniest thing I've ever seen to
(58:35):
turn on because that show was my faith. I just
loved that show and we and we I flipped it on.
I'm like, oh my god, they crushed it. And I'd
admired your work for the long time and obviously knew
Hoff really well. But I just was like, how did who?
Who had the big brain to pull that off?
Speaker 9 (58:50):
I don't remember who came up with it. It might have
been the great Chris Wurtz, who is my height, if
not a little bit shorter, believe it or not, when
of NFL Networks senior producers. Or maybe Alex Maloney who
is taller than me but not that tall.
Speaker 6 (59:05):
I don't remember.
Speaker 9 (59:05):
All I remember is we were in Arizona the Cardinals.
That might have been twenty twenty one, the day that
the Cardinals came and undefeated and the Packers beat them, okay.
Speaker 6 (59:22):
And or maybe it was nineteen. I don't know.
Speaker 9 (59:26):
All I know is we are in Arizona and they
called me up and they said, we have this idea.
Would you be cool with it because we want to
run and buy you first.
Speaker 6 (59:35):
And I said, come on, let's go. I don't care,
let's do it.
Speaker 3 (59:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (59:39):
And they gave me the skull cap and they gave
me the little suit and all that, and I remember
sitting in the trailer right outside the set and it
was like, you know, big bus kind of thing, like
air conditioned bus with the tables and all that. And
I was watching YouTube videos of the scene with Doctor
Evil and Mini me, uh, trying to figure out how
(01:00:01):
to do like, you know, with the little pinky thing
and all that.
Speaker 5 (01:00:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:00:05):
Yeah, I don't think Joe had seen me.
Speaker 9 (01:00:09):
He was already out there and then I just walked
out there and we did not rehearse it.
Speaker 6 (01:00:15):
It just happened.
Speaker 4 (01:00:17):
It was amazing. Yeah, it was did you did you
enjoy being with those guys and then obviously the show
afterwards as much as like we enjoyed watching it. It's
a I think there is a huge hole in the
pre Thursday night ecosystem that the new show no offense.
Those guys are fine, but this was like it was different.
Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
It was inside the end. I thought it was the
best thing the NFL did from a preer postgame show perspective.
Speaker 9 (01:00:41):
So we had a lot of fun with it. And
you guys are are far too kind. I think Amazon
really does a good, really good show, and a lot
of the people there behind the scenes are former NFL and.
Speaker 3 (01:00:49):
It's very solid worked with in the past.
Speaker 9 (01:00:50):
The difference there is is they only have an hour
of real estate. So Amazon has been out of it.
We're keeping this to an hour. We're not going to
expand that pregame show. And when you only have an hour,
you kind of have to stand in your lane, right.
You have so many segments, so many sale items or
sales items, and then you have your insider, you have
your interviews, and you have all the stuff you have
(01:01:11):
to do to be a mature, professional pregame show. We
had a lot more space and time to feel, quite frankly,
and we could do a lot more fun stuff. And
actually you add the extra hour because I would do
the pre to the pre I would do whatever hour
we called a TNF first look, where I was on
the field at a desk by myself and we would
(01:01:33):
bring people in and out. But we had that extra
hour to do stuff as well. So it was just
so much more real estate to have a little bit
more fun, I guarantee. And now the flip side of it, Yeah,
the flip side of it is Amazon does a much
longer postgame show than we ever did, and they they
(01:01:57):
have a little bit more fun on the desk, and
they could do that interview a little bit longer, and
that's that's kind of the big difference there.
Speaker 6 (01:02:05):
But they do.
Speaker 4 (01:02:06):
Here's what I say to Amazon is that by eleven twenty,
I'm done entertain me when I'm like cooking and getting
everything ready.
Speaker 3 (01:02:16):
Five o'clock, six o'clock by eleven twenty. Like, if I
see the end of a Thursday night game, actually see
it in real time, it has to be really really compelling,
and then I will tell you as soon as it
goes off.
Speaker 4 (01:02:27):
Yeah, I got the sweet miss Ka next to me.
She's procured these crazy not ridiculous, but crazy like light
blocking things. So I'm, you know, just sitting there watching
and then it's like, okay, now it's off, but yeah,
give me the fun and for volity first, then we'll
get the good football.
Speaker 3 (01:02:41):
I don't need it.
Speaker 4 (01:02:41):
At the end, I'm like, yeah, ready to go to bed.
Speaker 3 (01:02:43):
I'm with you, I'm with you.
Speaker 9 (01:02:44):
They do a really good job on that desk though,
with the post game as as the NFL network, crud
did is well.
Speaker 4 (01:02:49):
Down in sincey film.
Speaker 3 (01:02:50):
I saw a little bit of that that was quite good.
Speaker 9 (01:02:52):
Yeah, those postgame sets on a Thursday are really unlike
anything that anyone does. Scott Fan Pelt does a great
job to talk back and Melissa Stark on Sunday night
on the field there, those are always really good.
Speaker 6 (01:03:04):
But the relaxed.
Speaker 9 (01:03:06):
Atmosphere of a Thursday where you got nowhere to go,
where you have the mini buy now, it's it's a very,
in my eyes, different vibe that I felt covering these
games over the years, and they really open up and
there's so much stress, as you guys well know playing
on Thursday. Like the second you get done with your
(01:03:28):
Sunday game, it is a race against time for everybody
in your building to get on the field on Thursday.
And then there is a Catharsis after winning on Thursday
that I think really comes out well in those in
those situations.
Speaker 4 (01:03:43):
And this is why he is walking near the beach
on the West coast. He's talking about all the postgame
things that are happening on all the primetime games. O'clock
at night, Yeah, night to watch him some good food.
Speaker 3 (01:03:55):
You may of course you made it. It's only midnight
at three am for falling asleep.
Speaker 6 (01:03:58):
To be honest with.
Speaker 3 (01:03:59):
You, Yeah, all right, you went to a very good school.
True or false. Miles Garrett had five sacks Sunday.
Speaker 9 (01:04:07):
Yeah, so I'm true or false?
Speaker 6 (01:04:11):
Outrageous? He didn't you hold on?
Speaker 3 (01:04:14):
Hold on, let's he's already texted. I know, I know it.
I did. We got I mean the witness. Let me
do my best, Lieutenant Cafe, and I'll lead the witness. Okay.
So for the for the audience, that was a true Miles.
You weren't imaginings did have five sacks? You guys are
on the call. We were, We were all witnessing all
of it. Okay. Uh? True or false? Miles one a
(01:04:40):
FC defensive Player of the week.
Speaker 6 (01:04:42):
He should have he did not? False?
Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:04:46):
And is there precedence, sir?
Speaker 9 (01:04:48):
For there is, and it shows you how much free
time I have today. I did a deep dive and
this is my My research has not been fact checked
by a band of professionals, But as far as I
can tell, Miles Garrett is only the second player since
the NFL began handing out a Player of the Week
(01:05:12):
award in nineteen eighty four to sack the quarterback five
or more times in a game and not win Defensive
Player of the Week. And the only other player was
the great Leslie O'Neill, former Charger pass rusher who had
a five sack game in Week eleven of nineteen hundred
(01:05:33):
and eighty six. He did win a similar award, it
has since been discontinued. The Pro Football Writers handed out
defensive and Offensive Players of the Week award. He won
the Writers award, but the official NFL award that week
went to a corner from the Bengals named Lewis Breeden
(01:05:59):
who had two interceptions, one of which was a pick six.
It is any outrage. Jordan Brooks is a very good
football player. We noted during the game the Dolphins game
two weeks ago that this guy doesn't get enough respect.
But his stat line on Sunday was nearly identical to
a stat line that he had with no fanfare in
a blowout loss to the Browns the previous week.
Speaker 4 (01:06:22):
Here's his stets Are you ready?
Speaker 3 (01:06:24):
Are you I'm ready, I'm my pen, I'm ready writing
it down.
Speaker 4 (01:06:27):
Ten tackles, yep, three tackles for a loss on one sack.
Speaker 6 (01:06:32):
It's a good game.
Speaker 3 (01:06:33):
It's a very nice game.
Speaker 4 (01:06:34):
But he's had games where he's had eighteen tackles, thirteen
tackles and a half a sack, eight tackles, a tackle
for a loss and a sack. What was his stat
line against US nine tackles and a tackle for a loss,
no sacks.
Speaker 3 (01:06:46):
I mean what, I just don't understand how that he
had five sacks and six tackles for a loss. It
had to just be because we lost, which is not
what it should be about.
Speaker 4 (01:06:55):
But it didn't get Well, why was Jordan Brooks even nominated?
Speaker 3 (01:06:58):
I have no idea. I mean there's really a one, like,
it's silly.
Speaker 4 (01:07:03):
If you were going to take a linebacker who won
and that was the criteria, that all it could be
was a linebacker won. Wouldn't Robert Splaine who had fourteen tackles,
an interception offense and two tackles for loss against US.
Isn't that a better game than what Jordan brook said? I?
Speaker 6 (01:07:22):
I think so, yeah, it doesn't.
Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
It's silly.
Speaker 6 (01:07:26):
I was absolutely floored.
Speaker 9 (01:07:29):
Matter of fact, when and I had some considerable flight
delays getting home. When I when I was sitting there
at the airport and my mind wandered about the bye,
about the game we just did and everything we just saw.
I at one point said, man, you should have said
give the award for Defensive Player of the Week to
Miles Garrett right now or Miles Garrett, your defensive Player
(01:07:49):
of the Week winner. I was like, I actually lamented
the fact that I didn't work it into the game broadcast.
Speaker 3 (01:07:56):
It's just it's crazy, it's crazy. I don't I don't
know how those type of thing. I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:08:02):
I can't think of a reasonable explanation.
Speaker 4 (01:08:04):
Why was he nominated?
Speaker 6 (01:08:07):
The Brook cares who the other nominees were.
Speaker 3 (01:08:10):
Why five sacks the end? That's the end of the
that's it. That's your closed.
Speaker 4 (01:08:14):
Why I didn't sep twenty times in NFL history and
the players had five sacks in a game.
Speaker 9 (01:08:20):
I'm well, I'm self aware here, No, no, no, To clarify, Nathan,
it was twenty times since the award started in eighty four.
There was a Howie Long five sack game in eighty
three the year before. So I think it's twenty one times.
I'm a reference.
Speaker 4 (01:08:38):
Get it together, they say.
Speaker 9 (01:08:40):
Twenty Browns fans going like, okay, yeah, I get it.
He lost, he has a big contract, he lost.
Speaker 6 (01:08:47):
Woe is me? Five sacks? You want flowers to who
cares like? That's not the point anyway, that's not the point.
The guy had five sacks.
Speaker 9 (01:08:55):
It was one of the most single like dominant defensive
performances we've ever witnessed in person. Come on now, Derek,
Derek Thomas, the great Derek Thomas. When he had seven sacks,
which is the single season or single game record against
the Seahawks in nineteen ninety They lost that game as well. Yeah,
believe it or not, the Chiefs lost that game. But
(01:09:17):
he did win AFC Defensive Player of the Week.
Speaker 4 (01:09:20):
How about this. He had six sacks in a game
against the Raiders eight years later in nineteen ninety eight.
Speaker 6 (01:09:26):
And also won AFC Defensive Player of the Week.
Speaker 3 (01:09:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:09:30):
The only people that are on the list twice So
I'm at Pro Football Reference, so they had twenty so
maybe they and Miles is included so it was updated,
so maybe that is maybe maybe missing somebody. Derek Thomas
did it twice. Khalil Mack has done it twice. He
had six sacks in a game with the Chargers against
his former team, the Raiders in twenty twenty three, had
(01:09:50):
a five sack game with the Raiders against the Denver Broncos.
Those are the only two people to appear on the
list twice.
Speaker 3 (01:09:59):
Yeah, it's a stupid Yeah, accomplishment. It's a pretty good lists.
Speaker 5 (01:10:04):
Before before we wrap up with mister Siciliano, I give
him a lot of flak for where he went to college.
Speaker 3 (01:10:13):
That's why though, just.
Speaker 5 (01:10:16):
Because I do. It's a quality back and forth. He
knows how much I appreciate him, and I want everybody
to know that this weekend, our guy is going into
the Syracuse A E. R. Hall of Fame, very very
(01:10:37):
very He's going with Greg Papa and I'm I hope
I'm Butcher his name, but I probably am Segar mcgoni
ap writer. He's joining the likes in this hall of
fame of Ted Copple, Sean McDonough, Mike Tarico, Bob Costas,
(01:10:59):
Beth mo One's, Dick Stockton, Marv Albert just a few.
Speaker 3 (01:11:03):
Wow, dude, congratulations, Yes, how did this? How when did
you find out? What are your plans?
Speaker 2 (01:11:08):
Then?
Speaker 3 (01:11:08):
What is the what's in store for you this weekend?
Speaker 9 (01:11:10):
I am humbled and flattered, truly, and thank you Gibbet
for for mentioning it.
Speaker 6 (01:11:16):
I'm a little embarrassed.
Speaker 9 (01:11:17):
It's uh w A E. R is within our journalism school.
It's kind of like our I don't want to call
it the secret fraternity. But there's like the journalism school,
and then there's like our student radio station.
Speaker 6 (01:11:30):
All us kids who.
Speaker 9 (01:11:30):
Did the games and and tried to be Bob costas
I guess, for lack of a better description, Bob obviously,
and Marv and Marty Glickman and all those people came
along before we ever got there. And this is an
honor that I did not see coming from our student
radio station, which again is kind of like our fraternity,
(01:11:51):
if you.
Speaker 6 (01:11:51):
Will, within the journalism school.
Speaker 9 (01:11:53):
So my folks are coming up to Central New York
for this one, and it's kind of like it's kind
of like a reunion for a lot of us there there.
We got a big group from my year and the
year before and the year after UH that are are
coming into town for this, not only for me obviously,
(01:12:14):
but for Saga as well. Papa, unfortunately is UH is
fighting the good fight back in San Francisco. He's not
doing Niners games right now and he cannot travel as
he goes through his treatment. So unfortunately Papa is not
going to not going to make it there, but we're
going to try to do a separate ceremony for him
once he is on the mend. But uh, yeah, I am.
(01:12:38):
I am beyond beyond honor. Did not see this coming?
Speaker 4 (01:12:43):
Do you get so? I was this is a spoiler
for I was doing something with Hanford Dixon today and
he is a member of the National High School Football
Hall of Fame, amazing and has a beautiful red blazer.
Do you get an orange blazer? I feel like there
should be an orange jacket if you go into the Syracuse.
Speaker 3 (01:13:01):
Yeah, I like those Orange Bowl jackets that they have
an orange jacket.
Speaker 9 (01:13:05):
Do you not think there is a jacket a laurel
nor a hardy handshake?
Speaker 6 (01:13:09):
But the the honor is enough.
Speaker 4 (01:13:14):
Can you do me a favor? Yes, bring this up
to them, that there should be an orange jack jacket.
I'd like that, and I think that you know, you
introduce it, it's noteworthy. And then I at one of
the games remaining this season, I would like to see
you in this orange blazer. I'm envisioning the call letters.
You say W A E W A E R rady,
So yeah, so I need the block ass obviously, and
(01:13:34):
then A W A E R and then like a
hof like maybe, but if you think about the s
like like on the crests and nice are in there. Yeah,
like I like like that.
Speaker 3 (01:13:46):
I like that.
Speaker 9 (01:13:46):
I will, let's get to make a note of it.
I am. I'm just happy they're picking up the hotel
room better than the Bengals and and the flight too,
So yes, you see that better than that's possible, Corey.
Speaker 3 (01:14:01):
For those who don't know, not happy. Corey Dillon was
headed to Ring of Honor in Cincinnati and he said, no,
they sent him out because he went to the and
I don't even know how this is possible. They reserved
a flight for him but didn't pay for it, is
what he alleged.
Speaker 4 (01:14:16):
I didn't know that again. Yeah, And basically they're like, yeah, cool, Yeah,
to see five hundred bucks, you need to pay us.
Speaker 3 (01:14:22):
Yeah. He's like, excuse me, yeah, remember you, Boomer think
you could do so?
Speaker 4 (01:14:27):
I ever heard this before?
Speaker 6 (01:14:28):
Boomer Sias And brought this up a couple of weeks
ago as well.
Speaker 3 (01:14:31):
Yes, it was at the hotel, right.
Speaker 9 (01:14:33):
It was the hotel and the flight and they told
him like, hey, click here if you want tickets, and
they were gonna be in the stands with everyone else.
He's Boomers siasin like he can't watch a game in
peace in the stands in Cincinnati.
Speaker 3 (01:14:48):
No, no, he cannot. Buddy, have a great weekend. Congratulations
such a cool honor man. It's one of those things
in life that you'll remember forever. So congratulations on that, buddy.
Have a great weekend. We'll talk to you next week.
Speaker 6 (01:14:59):
I appreciate y'all. See next week.
Speaker 3 (01:15:00):

(01:15:59):
Let's take over Vegas in twenty twenty five. By the way,
the mail beg is open. We're going to get to
that momentarily before we get for that cloud good ones.
He's got some good ones already. Uh, time to go
around the league. The Lions have locked up Aiden Hutchinson.
Detroit gets him locked up four years, one hundred and eighty,
one hundred and forty one of that guaranteed for mister Hutchinson.
They basically locked up everybody. But they've drafted all those guys,
(01:16:21):
with the exception of GoF But they drafted Stafford, which
led to goth and then they extended all the guys
they drafted. When you draft good players, you can extend.
Speaker 4 (01:16:28):
I don't know they're gonna pay all these guys, because
everybody's getting paid a good amount of money.
Speaker 3 (01:16:31):
Same Brown Will, I mean, it's all of them, Decker, Sewell, Golf,
they've all been extended. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:16:37):
By the way, Jamiir Gibbs, if you don't like him,
enough already, and you should phenomenal in fantasy and a
good player. He did an awesome video that I saw
on the on the Twitter sphere about for Halloween where
he dresses up as Jeff Hardy, which I enjoy that
and does the dance and everything.
Speaker 3 (01:16:53):
And does isn't his girlfriend another?
Speaker 4 (01:16:56):
She must be being lead out, would be my guess.
Speaker 3 (01:16:58):
Okay, yeah, yeah, so I knew that they were both WWE.
I didn't recognize the costumes but the but yeah, I
saw it look like she was pretty locked into it
as well, which is very very cool. A couple of
trades yesterday from the Patriots. They trade Kyle Duggarn a
seventh round pick to the Steelers and exchange for a
six and then Edge Keyon White and a seventh to
the forty nine Ers in exchange for a sixth. Both
those guys are starters last year yep, now expendable in
(01:17:22):
the new regime. YEP. Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco with an
ac joint sprain and his throwing shoulder status for Sunday
is up in the air, but Zach Taylor did say
today that even if he doesn't practice all week, he
can play Sunday. That's painful.
Speaker 4 (01:17:38):
So when I was doing my wrestling, that's when I
as in my left shoulder and that's where you get that.
You've seen the I think it was Keenan Allen. They
showed it where you get that bone that's right here
and it sticks up a lot. That's an ac joint sprain.
So in your throwing shoulder.
Speaker 3 (01:17:52):
That would be.
Speaker 4 (01:17:53):
That gives me a little bit of pause there. That
is not ideal, and that does not There's really nothing
they can do for it, and it takes a long, long,
long way to go to get it right.
Speaker 3 (01:18:04):
It is.
Speaker 4 (01:18:06):
It's tough. That is that makes me nervous. I didn't
realize that's what it was.
Speaker 3 (01:18:11):
Yeah, they don't seem to be as concerned, so I
don't maybe it's not. Yeah, I hope it, but their
attitude is to me kind of feels like he's going
to play Sunday, but we'll see. Forty one year old
tight end at Marceides Mercedes Lewis is signing with the
Broncos practice squad. If you were to get into the game,
he'd be the oldest tight end in NFL history to
(01:18:32):
play in a game. Forty one. It's like us. They
asked me.
Speaker 4 (01:18:37):
I walked in there and they asked me, did you
hear about Marcedes Lewis?
Speaker 3 (01:18:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:18:43):
And unfortunately we're living a time and when you know
somebody's after their career and you hear that and you're
thinking to yourself, man, like, did's something?
Speaker 3 (01:18:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:18:50):
Like is he still with us?
Speaker 5 (01:18:52):
Yeah? Right?
Speaker 4 (01:18:53):
Like now he's actually with the Denver Broncos. What still
gonna go?
Speaker 3 (01:18:58):
Are you kidding me?
Speaker 4 (01:18:59):
I mean that's much better outcomes, So I'm happy for that.
But yeah, this guy, folks, I don't know if people
are aware of this. Mercedes Lewis was a first round
pick in the year two thousand and six. Two thousand
and six, it.
Speaker 5 (01:19:13):
Was our year before marriage. Number one for me.
Speaker 3 (01:19:19):
I was still in Tallahassee, you know, six, two thousand
and long time ago, brother, Yeah, that is a long,
long time ago. All right, we'll open up the mailbank.

Questions are available to be answered on the YouTube stream
or also at Brown's Underscore Daily on the X platform.
(01:20:20):
Hello Gibbe, Hi.
Speaker 5 (01:20:22):
Away we go on the X at Brown's Underscore Daily, Joe,
see what would be more satisfying hold on one on
seventeen at Sawgrass or seeing the look on Gibbs's face
after you go seventeen h to one in the scores.
Speaker 4 (01:20:39):
Seventeen oh one in the score? You lie, I have a.
Speaker 5 (01:20:43):
Hole in one two, It'd be seventeen Sagress.
Speaker 4 (01:20:46):
Yeah, I'd much rather, I'd much rather have this a joy,
the joy that would last me much.
Speaker 3 (01:20:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:20:52):
Like now if you said it was seventeen a hole
in one on Sagress at seventeen and I'm playing in
some kind of tournament pro am like some stool event
or some type of and that catapulted me to glory,
then that for sure. But if it's just like I'm
just playing golf.
Speaker 3 (01:21:09):
Yeah, I played that course once and I thought it
was pretty average.
Speaker 4 (01:21:16):
Until fifteen sixteen seventeen eighteen. Yeah, yeah, the sixteen.
Speaker 3 (01:21:19):
Seventeen eighteen, I thought the front was pretty average. Really yeah, but.
Speaker 4 (01:21:23):
Those that's around the golf in the country right now,
I think, is it really Yeah, if it's not, it's
top five.
Speaker 3 (01:21:29):
Yeah, it's cool because you've been there and you've seen it.
But like you basically you play the whole round to
get to the back last sixteen seventeen and you you know,
you played the whole I bogied it. I put it
in the first time, and then I put it on
and two putted, not too share doubled. I took a five.
It was a five.
Speaker 5 (01:21:46):
Okay, still sign up and Yeahsolary too. Yeah enough from
the clown. The current favorite drink wine, beer, et cetera.
Speaker 4 (01:22:00):
Definitely, I love wine and I love tequila. Those are
my Those are those are pretty much my two and
I do. Obviously, now we're getting into the what I
consider the Bourbon months or the whiskey months.
Speaker 3 (01:22:11):
Yeah, but.
Speaker 4 (01:22:13):
Red wine, nap of France, Italy, let's go baby, lots
of good ones.
Speaker 3 (01:22:20):
Yeah, it's I will now we are. I like how
you coined that. I think that's the appropriate. I mean,
this is kind of bourbon season is I always think
when it gets to football season, but it's hard in
early Yeah, now it's hot, it doesn't. The only the
only bourbon cocktail that I like is is one that
I got from that I got from Julian Van Winkle
(01:22:42):
and the idea was, is you take Yeah, it's his
kid tells this great story there like a Michelin star
hotel in in uh in Manhattan, and he goes up
to the bartender and he goes, I'll have you know
a Pappy twenty on the rocks with a twist with
a lemon twist. And the bartender goes, sir, I can't,
(01:23:02):
I can't do that to that whiskey. And the kid goes, well,
that's how he likes it, and it's his dad on
the bottle. So that's one. That's one that I like
in the summer is that I've I've. It basically tastes
like an iced tea. It's what you get that iced
tea flavor to it. So that's a nice summer one
on the bourbon. Yep.
Speaker 5 (01:23:23):
More from the clown. What is the most important feature
or amenity to you in a hotel room or suite?
We know, for Gibbee it's a bar. It's not the bar.
For me, no hotel bar is expensive.
Speaker 3 (01:23:34):
Yeah, that's that's no good. You got to stay out
of that thing. You know what I really like to me?
I like the view. There's something very soothing to me
about a view in a hotel, like if it's if
I'm going to be there for a few days or
even at night, like if I'm in a major city,
like there's a great Hilton in Columbus that's got thirty
some floors. Yep, I go all the way up, I
(01:23:56):
get as high as I can, and just there's something
soothing about having a cocktail after dinner whatever and looking
out over the horizon. And that goes back to my youth.
Because of Montana, you can get high and see everything
and and here really, oh yeah, you can see there's elevation. Huh. Yes,
of course not as many trees either, as far as
I can see, baby, and so yeah, that that would
(01:24:17):
probably be mine, that'd be mine. Give me a view.
Speaker 5 (01:24:20):
I need a good pillow.
Speaker 4 (01:24:22):
Yeah, I wrote down comfortable bed and a good pillow.
Speaker 5 (01:24:24):
Pillow and a thermostatt that doesn't suck.
Speaker 3 (01:24:27):
Yeah. Isn't that though, Like if you're a if you're
staying in a hotel, like that's minimum, Like you better
pillow a lot.
Speaker 4 (01:24:34):
Dude, that is that's not a lot. I can tell you, say,
a lot more hotels I would have bed you do
you do?
Speaker 3 (01:24:39):
You do you?
Speaker 5 (01:24:40):
You would think.
Speaker 3 (01:24:43):
Not? Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:24:44):
In fact, I found that our most recent hotel, Great View,
actually had a very cool view. Bad pillows, very bad.
Speaker 3 (01:24:55):
That sinks.
Speaker 4 (01:24:56):
It was all pillows that had no substance to them,
but like just really fluffy. But then but nothing to it.
So and the problem was two was too flat. Yeah,
and then you try to get three on there for
some reason, three was then too It was a disaster.
Couldn't find them happy. The thermostats right though, very important.
Don't ever, don't do don't can't do it. Let's sleep hot.
Speaker 5 (01:25:22):
Is it acceptable for adults to dress up for Halloween,
particularly at work?
Speaker 3 (01:25:26):
Apparently? I guess, uh yeah, I mean i I've always
said there's like there's three Halloweens. There's Halloween when you're
a little kid and you get the candy, and it's
it's hard to even wrap your head around the idea
that you just dress up something you love to do anyway,
and you just go to doors and knock and they
just give you candy, like that's an incredible thing. Then then
(01:25:47):
the second Halloween is like college and that is a
real elite and if you're young NBC driving around with
your mom right now, you're gonna love it. And then
the third one is is really cool. That's parent Halloween,
like when the boys were little, and they still are
a little but when they were really little, the joy
(01:26:09):
of going with them, like you're gonna get with in
your grand baby and what you're gonna get with Luca,
you know, because your kids are you're older two or
older now, but like when next couple of years with Luca,
it's gonna be unbelievable on Halloween. And so there's three.
They're all great for different reasons, but Halloween is something
that changes a lot through your life. Yes, for very
different for very different reasons.
Speaker 5 (01:26:30):
Uh, Cleveland is the reason making fun of me Gibby
would fly into a category five hurricane and not go
into a haunted house. Yes, there's a big difference.
Speaker 3 (01:26:38):
I'm with you. I think I would choose the hurricane too.
By the way, how did that Was it devastating in Jamaica.
I didn't see.
Speaker 5 (01:26:44):
Yeah, we're starting to get some video out of there now,
the southwest part of the island. I don't know if
anything exists over there.
Speaker 3 (01:26:53):
So when my brother, my aunt and uncle had a
place in the Virgin Islands and my brother lived there
for a while after college and bart in it down
there for years, basically lived the cocktail life. And I
remember they had a hurricane hit Saint John and there
was a five star resort there called Kaneil Bay Resort.
It was actually I think Kenny Chesney oddly and Renee
Zelwiger were married there. Wow, I think that's right. The hurricane,
(01:27:15):
and this has been over a decade ago, maybe more.
They just never replaced, like it was so bad that
they just have never replaced it, like that was it.
And I know at the BBI got hit similarly, and
there's a great resort there called Little Little Dix Bay
Resort that got annihilated, and I think it just recently
is trying to open. But when you get when you
(01:27:36):
get bombed on those islands, the rebuild is just impossible.
You can't get resources, You can't yeah anything, I mean
getting supplies there is tough. Let alone, like to build structures,
just impossible.
Speaker 4 (01:27:51):
It says catastrophic damage thirty.
Speaker 5 (01:27:58):
I want to say, there's seven hundred and fifty thousand
people are on the power grade. Five hundred thousand don't have.
Speaker 3 (01:28:04):
Power and it could be months. Really, you're in an island. Yeah,
you're literally like, there's no very difficult. So I really
empathize with those folks. That's brutal, absolutely brutal.
Speaker 5 (01:28:16):
Greister said, I lived in the Providence area for all
for twenty eight years. Still go back for at least
a week long visit every year. Need to know the
details of where you guys ate and where you may
have enjoyed an adult beverage. Also, did anyone get to
try the Rhode Island Showda, I did not do Rhode.
Speaker 3 (01:28:32):
Island showder did you see it on the menus?
Speaker 5 (01:28:34):
No?
Speaker 4 (01:28:35):
No, no, I did not let me see the name
of the place that we ate, Mills Tavern, that is
where we ate in Providence that night.
Speaker 3 (01:28:45):
It was good, nice Quickteah.
Speaker 5 (01:28:48):
What was the name of the place we ate at?
Speaker 4 (01:28:51):
Quaked? I liked Providence awesome?
Speaker 3 (01:28:55):
How big is it not? Give me an Ohio comp
Is it Toledo?
Speaker 5 (01:29:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:29:04):
Probably probably.
Speaker 3 (01:29:07):
Akron.
Speaker 4 (01:29:08):
I was gonna say one of those two. Like the
downtown where we were is not big, yeah at all. Yeah,
let's take a little gander. I'll give it here. Maybe
if I give you some information.
Speaker 5 (01:29:23):
I don't know. Population is one hundred and ninety thousand.
Speaker 3 (01:29:27):
Just in the city, but the metro is probably yeah,
because I think it's a decent sized market. It's like
a market in the fifties, so it's.
Speaker 5 (01:29:32):
Not The metropolitan area has approximately one point seven million. Okay,
it's it's awesome. You got your ocean at the water,
you got everything going on, like Rhode Island in general.
Go down to Newport, go spend a weekend in Newport.
I'm gonna tell you right now. It's undefeated. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:29:50):
Yeah, that was Newport. That looks pretty great.
Speaker 4 (01:29:52):
Yeah, we were right here.
Speaker 3 (01:29:53):
Actually, that's probably gonna watch that show, The Gilded Age,
give that it's on HBO. That's all about like the
robber barons and the late eighteen hundreds and they all
are trying to build these mansions in Newport.
Speaker 5 (01:30:05):
I just the food scene was incredible. The place we
went was like a three story place, had been around
for like thirty forty years. Got a reservation, took Dan, Tracy, Gerrod,
Mac and Clay had awesome. I had a nice little
risotto with.
Speaker 4 (01:30:26):
Scallops.
Speaker 5 (01:30:29):
Fantastic. I love. I just wish. We never get to
go for more than a day. And it's always at
one o'clock, which means we're on a bus at like
seven am. No real opportunity to cocktail.
Speaker 3 (01:30:39):
And it's not really one of those places that you
think about vacationing, but perhaps you should.
Speaker 5 (01:30:45):
You should because you could go there up in Boston,
up into Maine.
Speaker 3 (01:30:48):
We did the Boston Mainza that summer and that was awesome. Yeah,
that was great.
Speaker 4 (01:30:52):
Breaking news right here. Two suspects erected and arrested in
connection with the theft of France's Crown Jewels from the
Loof have been admitted, have admitted involvement in the heist,
and have been remanded in custody. The Paris Prosecutor's office
said today they do not have the jewels. The jewels
are still at large, but they got two of the guys.
There are two still at large that have this, but
(01:31:13):
they think that they.
Speaker 5 (01:31:14):
Think we'll break it all down on Monday.
Speaker 3 (01:31:16):
There you go. They think they think that they are
on the path. I thought that was going to go
another way. Thank god it went that way. Brown's Previews
Show tonight seven eight University Hospitals, Cleveland Browns Radio Network,
We are back tomorrow. Thanks for listening body Cleveland Bron's Daily,

Speaker 1 (01:31:32):
You've been listening to Cleveland Browns Daily, a production of
