see the heavy lifting right away. Certainly saw this report
on Saturday and aware of it. Brown's running back second
round pick quinch On Jenkins arrested on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale,
According to Broward County arrest records. Judskins facing a charge
of battery and domestic violence. A Brown spokesman says the
team is aware gathering more information. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy

where where that matter will discuss with for what will
decline further comment. He is the only member of the
team seven man draft class who has not signed his
rookie deal, so that's kind of an interesting part of
it as well. But this is I said this this morning,
and you and I have had to deal with these
type of things before. It's a very difficult talk because

these cases are in simplest and most complicated terms, he said,
she said cases. And a buddy of mine with the
Columbus PD he's been there a long time investigator, and
I remember years ago him telling me, Look, these are
the hardest cases for us to prove. They're the hardest
cases to get charges. They're the hardest cases all of it.

It's just a really brutal thing to do. I always
feel like, I what the people who know were there.
There will be a process that this is going to
go through, and that due process will will play out,
And until then, there's not a whole lot I can
say on it because I wasn't there, and you weren't there,
and what more can we add nothing.

It's not a topic anybody likes to talk about it.
It's certainly something that we do not want with the
Cleveland Browns right now. And it's just it's tough, that's
it's Yeah. I think everybody saw the news.

It was like right, not again, right, Yeah, So we'll
let the that's why there is a justice system.

And we'll let that play out and we'll see what
it goes. When there's an update for me, either the
NFL or the Browns, we will certainly let you guys
know the NFL right now saying they're where the matter
will decline for their comment you mentioned, I know you
said that, and then he said that he hadn't signed,
and that's because of what happened down in Houston. The
Texans gave their second round pick, Jaden Higgins, the wide receiver,

a fully guaranteed contract, and I think pick thirty three
is signed, and then Higgins, who was a little bit
later in the second round, they both got fully guaranteed contracts.
Thirty of the thirty two second round picks have not
signed because they all now want guaranteed contracts and teams
are saying absolutely not right now. What's interesting in the

case of Judkins at least is I understand it that
for rookie deals, any rookie who gets arrested, it voids
the guarantees in their deal. Doesn't avoid the deal, just
avoids the guarantees in their deal. So I don't know
if that means that in as you know, the Judkins
would sign a deal that has no guarantees or does

he wait and try to let the d process but
he won't be able to because it's going to happen
that fast.

It never does.

It's a very this becomes a very interesting and complicated situation.

It does, and it it's one of those things where
you know, regardless of of how what the real truth
of this is and and what all comes out and
and wherever this goes legally, it's it's a brutal thing
for the organization. It's a brutal thing for him, the
player and everybody who's involved in it. And and now
it'll be something that you're gonna have to deal with

and you have to both all sides of it are
going to have to deal with it for the foreseeable future.
And that's not something that you wanted when you're talking
about by the end of this week quarterbacks and rookies reporting, yep,
So like we're here now, it's that time, and and
you had basically one more week to kind of get
through it and then you're you're in the clear, and
and that that didn't happen, So that that part is, uh,

is very disappointing. As he said, when there is due
information on it, we will pass it along to you,
be it from the NFL, from Judkins camp, or from
from the organization here that aside, how have you been good?

Lucas five weeks old today, I think he's been He's
been great. Last night he slept from seven thirty to
two thirty. It's a good run, good stint seven hours
eight at five weeks. Yeah, and then he was down
again until about six thirty. So he's been doing great.

Day, which is tough, you know, but that's season. He's
a new board.

Yeah, that's what they are.

They cry, they eat, they go to the bathroom. You
have changed their diaper, and they sleep. They sleep sometimes
and listen, I'll take him fussy during the day, let's
sleep at night.

had a very good golf season that ended with me
really kind of like at a flourish. I worked hard
on my game at times this year. There are a
couple things I really wanted to improve and was able
to do that, and I ended up shooting quite a
few rounds in the sixties to wrap things up here nice.

mostly around here and I thought it was going to
be kind of a pretty easy week, but the kids

just have so much stuff and you just chase them.
I do have one observation as someone who has driven
through the entire length of the state of Pennsylvania now
twice in three weeks. Yep, okay, so I've done it
all the way to Maryland both times on Pennsylvania Turnpike,
primarily the entire time until you go south and you
go into Maryland. I feel like everybody that has a

Pennsylvania license plate drives that turnpike like it's talladega, like
they are hummon along. I don't know what the speed
limit is, but I found that they are not really
interested in being in the vicinity of it. And I
think that the reason that they're not really in the
vicinity of it is in eight hours minimum of eight
hours of driving, well, no, sixteen hours, because it's four

hours each way. Basically you're driving in Pennsylvania, So sixteen
hours two trips up and back to Baltimore area for lacrosse.
I did not see a single Pennsylvania Highway patrol.

So that's funny.

One as soon as I get across the state line,
they're waiting for me. Here in Pennsylvania, I didn't see one.
Two trips, middle of the day. It was two Fridays,
two Sundays, I did not see a single one. Not one.

That really surprises me because I thought you're actually gonna

Well, so to go to Baltimore, you really don't have
to until you get like all the way to like Breezewood.

Oh yeahh way down that's like almost to the other end.

That's it, basically, Yeah, you're basically through the entire state.
So I've driven that many times. I always see a
ton of pencil. I thought you're gonna say. I've even
been pulled over in.

Pennsylvania and they let me go, thankfully.

But I've never seen one in sixteen hours after I
thought in Maryland. Maryland has always been more kind of
the willy nilly part for me. Ohio, No, oh, like
when we drove down where did I Why was I
on the turnpike going down there?

Oh, when I drove down to Double Eagle, Yeah, I
saw eighty cops.

The oldest wanted to see the F one movies, So
we went and did that. The guy who directed that
also directed top Gun Maverick, and he is I heard
Simmons say this, and it's that that dude is the
modern day Tony Scott, the director from like the eighties
and nineties who just aced action movies.

Yep.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
That f one movie is awesome, so good, so good,
and it's theater only to me. We went on a
big screen and it was one of the big, big screens,
and it was awesome, like very It didn't tug at
the heartstrings like Top Gun Maverick because you have all
the nostalgia, but in terms of the way that they
filmed the action, it was a stunning accomplishment and it

made you when you walked out of it, you're like, God,
I gotta know more about this world. It was just
a really cool movie.

Speaker 5 (11:23):
Yep.

So that was kind of fun. Best guess on what
two tickets for a three o'clock showing one popcorn and
two pops cost three o'clock showing.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
The popcorn and the pops is where they're gonna get you, okay,
because I think how many give me give me? I
think you're probably twelve bucks of person for the movie tickets.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Two bucks or you got you got two tickets to
a three o'clock showing two tickets, one popcorn and two.
We went the small size on the popcorn and the and.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
The popcorn and two drinks might run you as much
as the movie tickets twenty bucks. I think you're in.
I think you're forty four dollars fifty.

Fifty four to fifty yeah, four fifty Yeah. Now it
was worth it.

It was great.

I like that, which was cool. So they had a
bunch of stuff that was going on in the fifteen minutes.
But at three o'clock because I'm like, lights went down
three o'clock, I'm like, okay, four or five previews, let's
no go time.

Oh so no previews at any point? None interesting?

No, they just launched into three.

O'clock, because they've gotten to the point now where you
almost get like thirty minutes of it.

I wonder if people maybe if they just figured, like, hey,
if we start this on time. I don't know, but
it was ready to go right at three, Like if
you walked into three h five, you missed kind of
an important first five minutes.

So yeah, it's like when I was late for uh,
oh man, what was that movie? M Night Shyamalan, Bruce Willis, Oh,
the kid one I See Dead People? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I missed the first few minutes, so I like the
ending completely blew my mind.

It's a big one to miss the beginning.

Yeah, it's hard to make up for that. No, you
can't catch up. No No, I was like, what do

I think it's because they added in this whole ramp
up period, so like they're going to be back next

And quarterbacks Friday, but their first training camp practice practice
is not until a week from Saturday, the twenty sixth.

Well, that makes sense, so you're right, it's the ramp up.

It's just a ramp up. I think we're open to
the public on Friday the twenty fifth, are we Yeah?

Today? Of that right, I think we are. And there
will be practice on Wednesday and Thursday at like four
thirty for us, for the media and internally. But Friday
is but the first one to the media, but again
that's all part of that ramp up.

Yeah, the first open training camp practice is on the
twenty fifth, but yeah, that's part of the ramp up.

The ramp ups are tough to watch. Yeah, going on,
what are we doing?

Yeah, I mean once we get into it, once you
get into the actual practicing, then you're gonna be watching
everything because you're going to want to know who's getting
red and when they get reps, like all of that stuff.
At the quarterback position alone, it's going to be I mean,
I don't know what it's like been for you guys
last couple of weeks, but everywhere I go, a friend
of mine, acquaintance of mine, or somebody who recognizes will stop,
Now what can this is what I think is going

(16:49):
to happen at quarterback? What do you what? How are
they going to do this? How's this gonning? I mean
that was NonStop. It was every anybody who knew I
was associated here, that's what that's what already wants to
know who's gonna be the quarterback Week one? And I
would tell you that, like the opinion on the possibilities
is wide ranging, and at times I think really off,

like very off like reality, but who knows, we'll see.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
So for me, I would say, if you were to
ask people who they want to start week one, or
at least people that have asked me who's going to
start Week one, and I give them my best educated guest,
which is the same as it's always been, which is
I think Kenny Pickett.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
Is likely to be the bronze starter in Week one.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
Could go any direction, but I'm saying to ends of today,
I would say it is eighty five percent people want Flacco,
fifteen percent want Shador, and I haven't heard one person
say they want Kenny Pickett, though he is the winningest
quarterback we've ever had in a Browne uniform since I
be here, or Dylan Gabriel.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
That's just strong and even though and so I think
you have I think the percentage, my percentages would probably
give Shadour a little bit more in Flacco a little
bit less, but the breakdown would be exactly how yours is.
Every once in a while I'll even get a picket.
I don't ever get a Gabriel, and I'm always quick
to remind people like they picked him first. Yes, and

(18:09):
they picked him higher than most people thought he was
going to get picked. That's how much they like him.
And it feels like it just falls on deaf ears
on deaf ears on deaf ears, and it's like that
isn't a that's not like you're in my opinion, that's
not scores. That's just what happened. The draft happened. They
liked him the most behind cam Ward. He was their guy, yep,

and so they they drafted him, and in some people's views,
maybe they overdrafted him. You're going to find out when
when you see what he's capable of. It like there
is a and I do think if they would, if
Shadur wouldn't have fallen and you wouldn't have taken a
lottery ticket, this conversation would be very very different. But
because it has happened, it's almost like Dylan gets just lost.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
One hundred percent. One hundred percent. They like him.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
I know comes Fansk, he likes him. There are a
lot of people that in this building that are very
high on him. We've seen some very good things from Shadur,
but now this is like go time. That was all
kind of speculation time. Now it's go time, and now
you're gonna see kind of what they think. And my
guess is, and I've kind of said it all along,
I think, can you pick itt as a leader in
the clubhouse? Could somebody just come up and seize the job? Yes,

(19:19):
I still think from and Chador is busting his button.
I'd love the way he throws a ball. And you know,
I am a big Chador fan. I think that that
learning curve that he's going through right now, and he's
definitely putting in the work, you know, makes it hard
to see him do that.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
And I also think the schedule.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
I think on some level you want set somebody up
for success and now maybe they're just transcendent. But that
typically would be like if Shador were picked second yep,
then you'd probably say, Okay, you're getting him right now.
All the other stuff would still be true in terms
of what he would have to ramp up to get
ready to do here, but you would say, okay, maybe,

(19:53):
but this start, I mean, you're talking Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Baltimore,
Green Bay, Detroit, Minnesota at Pittsburgh. That's your first six.
Like that is brutally, brutally tough. So I just think
the idea that it would be a rookie there. So
to me, it's kind of like Kenny Pickett and then
you know, Joe Flacco is you know, breaking the case

(20:15):
of emergency, break the glass in case emergency and use them.
But that would feel to me like Picket just flopped
in this in this training camp audition.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Yes, yeah, yeah, that's yeah. I mean we've been talking
about that for a while, and that's that's kind of
the way that it seems. I mean, Kenny is about
the same age as Dylan, he's slightly older, not much, yea.
But you basically have three bites at the quarterback apple
here with with Picket and the two rookies, and and
Flacco is, boy, this isn't going well. We know what
this is going to look like. Let's put Joe in

(20:46):
here and stabilize this thing. But this is an ownership
talked about this throughout the off season. This is a
This is very much a transition season. And you hope
that does that does not mean that that everyone who's
out there is not going to go try to make
the postseason, win the division, all those things, but the
reality is that you are transitioning from a team that
was being built in a certain way to a name

(21:07):
that's now being rebuilt on the fly in real time
with some core pieces.

Speaker 4 (21:12):
And certainly, and you know now right, you'd have to
say that.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
What we thought, even that our we thought if there
was going to be an identity on offense right now
now that's almost in Flox. You could say it's at
least in the up in the air in terms of
what it was, because Dylan Samson is a lot.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
More Jerome Ford.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
They're more you know, Samson sec offense play of the year.
Could he be the guy? Absolutely? Could Ford? You know,
Ford average over five redsco was very good last year.
So I still think you can run the ball. But
in terms of having that like physical guy you know
right now, unfortunately that's up in the air with the
with the legal situation surrounding Quinchhn Jenkins.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Well, I mean you can't. And we talked about this
off the top. He's he's the second round back at
running back, like he's supposed to replace that guy, right, yeah, right, that.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
That's why that's a significant investment at that position, especially
in our building. And again we'll let it all play out.
Some of the things that are emerging certainly do not
seem good, but we will let it all. That's all
going to play itself out and we'll we'll find out
what that is. But it probably feels like at this point,
you know, given what we experienced, you know, last year

(22:26):
unfortunately with my call again second round pick and with
six games, Yeah, wasn't it. Yeah, So it feels likely
that there's gonna be something.

Speaker 5 (22:35):
Yeah.

Yeah, so yeah, that wasn't That's.

This year's tough.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
I mean, I think that, you know, going into next year,
like the ideals if you're the Cleveland Browns, the ideal
situation is this is that you and you say, how
is this possible?

Speaker 4 (22:49):
And I'll kind of lay it out for you. It's
a very very tough schedule.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
The ideal situation is that next year, by the end
of this season, maybe it's like the final five games
and maybe they aren't necessarily wins, but you see like
oh Man Shadoor or Dylan Gabriel or even pick it
can be the guy. My guess is if you start
week one, by the time you get to the end
of the season, it's not going to be that, but
that you have an idea that those guys are the

(23:13):
guys and that perhaps you have a draft pick that's
still in a valuable enough place that maybe that can
become more than all of a sudden. You could be
like we have three ones next year, two ones the
year after that.

Speaker 4 (23:21):
You can like.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
Add mega talent at a great many positions, which we've
talked about. We're gonna have needs, you know, coming out
of this season. There's gonna be questions of cornerback. There's
