in Barrea, Ohio. This is Cleveland Browns Daily, presented by
Bally Batt, an official sports betting partner of your Cleveland
Browns on eight fifty ESPN Cleveland. He are your hosts,
Bo Bishop and Nathan Zegura.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
All right, let's do it live on a Monday initiative,
Cleveland Brown's Daily. We're presented by Bally beat, official sports
footing part of your Cleveland Browns. I am merely Bow Bishop.
He is the great Doc de z Gibe's here. Let's
rocks here.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Didn't did I see doctor j No, you've not seen
Oh boo.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Connor's here.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Connor with a k oh the A team, A team
sub How are we doing? Boys?
Speaker 5 (01:46):
A fine? Monday?
Speaker 4 (01:47):
Fine, We're back.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
We'll be here before we know it. All right, let's
see the heavy lifting right away. Certainly saw this report
on Saturday and aware of it. Brown's running back second
round pick quinch On Jenkins arrested on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale,
According to Broward County arrest records. Judskins facing a charge
of battery and domestic violence. A Brown spokesman says the
team is aware gathering more information. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy
(02:11):
where where that matter will discuss with for what will
decline further comment. He is the only member of the
team seven man draft class who has not signed his
rookie deal, so that's kind of an interesting part of
it as well. But this is I said this this morning,
and you and I have had to deal with these
type of things before. It's a very difficult talk because
(02:34):
these cases are in simplest and most complicated terms, he said,
she said cases. And a buddy of mine with the
Columbus PD he's been there a long time investigator, and
I remember years ago him telling me, Look, these are
the hardest cases for us to prove. They're the hardest
cases to get charges. They're the hardest cases all of it.
(02:55):
It's just a really brutal thing to do. I always
feel like, I what the people who know were there.
There will be a process that this is going to
go through, and that due process will will play out,
And until then, there's not a whole lot I can
say on it because I wasn't there, and you weren't there,
and what more can we add nothing.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
It's just.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Unfortunate, Yes, that that's what we're leading the show off with.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
Yeah, you know that.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
It's not a topic anybody likes to talk about it.
It's certainly something that we do not want with the
Cleveland Browns right now. And it's just it's tough, that's
it's Yeah. I think everybody saw the news.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
It was like right, not again, right, Yeah, So we'll
let the that's why there is a justice system.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
And we'll let that play out and we'll see what
it goes. When there's an update for me, either the
NFL or the Browns, we will certainly let you guys
know the NFL right now saying they're where the matter
will decline for their comment you mentioned, I know you
said that, and then he said that he hadn't signed,
and that's because of what happened down in Houston. The
Texans gave their second round pick, Jaden Higgins, the wide receiver,
(04:07):
a fully guaranteed contract, and I think pick thirty three
is signed, and then Higgins, who was a little bit
later in the second round, they both got fully guaranteed contracts.
Thirty of the thirty two second round picks have not
signed because they all now want guaranteed contracts and teams
are saying absolutely not right now. What's interesting in the
(04:27):
case of Judkins at least is I understand it that
for rookie deals, any rookie who gets arrested, it voids
the guarantees in their deal. Doesn't avoid the deal, just
avoids the guarantees in their deal. So I don't know
if that means that in as you know, the Judkins
would sign a deal that has no guarantees or does
(04:48):
he wait and try to let the d process but
he won't be able to because it's going to happen
that fast.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
It never does.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
It's a very this becomes a very interesting and complicated situation.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
It does, and it it's one of those things where
you know, regardless of of how what the real truth
of this is and and what all comes out and
and wherever this goes legally, it's it's a brutal thing
for the organization. It's a brutal thing for him, the
player and everybody who's involved in it. And and now
it'll be something that you're gonna have to deal with
(05:20):
and you have to both all sides of it are
going to have to deal with it for the foreseeable future.
And that's not something that you wanted when you're talking
about by the end of this week quarterbacks and rookies reporting, yep,
So like we're here now, it's that time, and and
you had basically one more week to kind of get
through it and then you're you're in the clear, and
and that that didn't happen, So that that part is, uh,
(05:43):
is very disappointing. As he said, when there is due
information on it, we will pass it along to you,
be it from the NFL, from Judkins camp, or from
from the organization here that aside, how have you been good?
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Lucas five weeks old today, I think he's been He's
been great. Last night he slept from seven thirty to
two thirty. It's a good run, good stint seven hours
eight at five weeks. Yeah, and then he was down
again until about six thirty. So he's been doing great.
Little fussy during the.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
Day, which is tough, you know, but that's season. He's
a new board.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Yeah, that's what they are.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
They cry, they eat, they go to the bathroom. You
have changed their diaper, and they sleep. They sleep sometimes
and listen, I'll take him fussy during the day, let's
sleep at night.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Fine, much better than the opposite anytime.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
Baby.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Yeah, give me that all day. So, yeah, he's doing great.
So I'm good. You know, I'm sad. I had I
had a very good golf season that ended with me
really kind of like at a flourish. I worked hard
on my game at times this year. There are a
couple things I really wanted to improve and was able
to do that, and I ended up shooting quite a
few rounds in the sixties to wrap things up here nice.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
So that made me very happy.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
And why is it wrapped up? You have this week back?
Speaker 4 (07:00):
You have this week we're back and Walden's Reno nine and.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Reno Yeah, yeah, yeah, so.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
It's and we're back, we're backing.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
To be honest with you, I'm not. This feels so early.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
I'm I in like the twenty seventh. I think that's
a Sunday. We're off.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
I think we have Sundays off until through the preseason.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Okay, so I'll be a Sunday. I'll be a Sunday,
A weekend warrior.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Warrior a little bit. Yeah, how are you doing? Uh,
it's yeah, lots lots, it was. It was good. It
was crazy. I've never had like two weeks off Sandwich
by one on and and so like, we went out west,
which we talked about, and then last week we were
mostly around here and I thought it was going to
be kind of a pretty easy week, but the kids
(07:44):
just have so much stuff and you just chase them.
I do have one observation as someone who has driven
through the entire length of the state of Pennsylvania now
twice in three weeks. Yep, okay, so I've done it
all the way to Maryland both times on Pennsylvania Turnpike,
primarily the entire time until you go south and you
go into Maryland. I feel like everybody that has a
(08:09):
Pennsylvania license plate drives that turnpike like it's talladega, like
they are hummon along. I don't know what the speed
limit is, but I found that they are not really
interested in being in the vicinity of it. And I
think that the reason that they're not really in the
vicinity of it is in eight hours minimum of eight
hours of driving, well, no, sixteen hours, because it's four
(08:32):
hours each way. Basically you're driving in Pennsylvania, So sixteen
hours two trips up and back to Baltimore area for lacrosse.
I did not see a single Pennsylvania Highway patrol.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
So that's funny.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
One as soon as I get across the state line,
they're waiting for me. Here in Pennsylvania, I didn't see one.
Two trips, middle of the day. It was two Fridays,
two Sundays, I did not see a single one. Not one.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
That really surprises me because I thought you're actually gonna
say the.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Least was broken.
Speaker 5 (09:04):
Thought.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
I was like, are there none anywhere? None?
Speaker 3 (09:08):
Because I've driven at least into the Pittsburgh portion of it,
and then obviously you go past it, you get what's
that that town you go into where you have to
like get off the freeway and then you go on.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Well, so to go to Baltimore, you really don't have
to until you get like all the way to like Breezewood.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
But that's what I mean. Breezwood.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Oh yeahh way down that's like almost to the other end.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
That's it, basically, Yeah, you're basically through the entire state.
So I've driven that many times. I always see a
ton of pencil. I thought you're gonna say. I've even
been pulled over in.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
Pennsylvania and they let me go, thankfully.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
But I've never seen one in sixteen hours after I
thought in Maryland. Maryland has always been more kind of
the willy nilly part for me. Ohio, No, oh, like
when we drove down where did I Why was I
on the turnpike going down there?
Speaker 4 (09:54):
Recently?
Speaker 3 (09:54):
Oh, when I drove down to Double Eagle, Yeah, I
saw eighty cops.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Oh, seventy one. There's one every miles, seventy one south
of the Columbus's won every five miles.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
It's nuts.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
Yes, So Pennsylvania, I have not had that experience, and
especially I go, you know again, only a portion of it.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Yeah, in to go to like when we go play
the Squealers, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
Gibbe's favorite team. And I always, I mean always, that's.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
Wild, not one. I mean it was sixteen hours of
not one.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
That's how it should be.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
It was.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
They're called freeways.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
You should be free to go, Free to live, baby, Yeah,
free to live.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
So it's good.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
So we did that, you know, did all the use
sports things that you do.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Last week I saw the uh, the F one movie.
The oldest wanted to see the F one movies, So
we went and did that. The guy who directed that
also directed top Gun Maverick, and he is I heard
Simmons say this, and it's that that dude is the
modern day Tony Scott, the director from like the eighties
and nineties who just aced action movies.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
That f one movie is awesome, so good, so good,
and it's theater only to me. We went on a
big screen and it was one of the big, big screens,
and it was awesome, like very It didn't tug at
the heartstrings like Top Gun Maverick because you have all
the nostalgia, but in terms of the way that they
filmed the action, it was a stunning accomplishment and it
(11:18):
made you when you walked out of it, you're like, God,
I gotta know more about this world. It was just
a really cool movie.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
So that was kind of fun. Best guess on what
two tickets for a three o'clock showing one popcorn and
two pops cost three o'clock showing.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
The popcorn and the pops is where they're gonna get you, okay,
because I think how many give me give me? I
think you're probably twelve bucks of person for the movie tickets.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Two bucks or you got you got two tickets to
a three o'clock showing two tickets, one popcorn and two.
We went the small size on the popcorn and the and.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
The popcorn and two drinks might run you as much
as the movie tickets twenty bucks. I think you're in.
I think you're forty four dollars fifty.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
Fifty four to fifty yeah, four fifty Yeah. Now it
was worth it.
Speaker 5 (12:02):
It was great.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
I mean, I don't know if it was worth it.
What's what's worth anything? But it was like, that was
a movie that I'm glad I saw in the theater.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
How long? What's the run time on that thing?
Speaker 2 (12:11):
Two thirty five? They can they get to shaved thirty
minutes off it and probably should have pretty easily.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
Well, so you had three hours of entertainment.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
No, So the other thing was is it started right
at three? No previews?
Speaker 5 (12:24):
How bad? It nice?
Speaker 2 (12:24):
I like that, which was cool. So they had a
bunch of stuff that was going on in the fifteen minutes.
But at three o'clock because I'm like, lights went down
three o'clock, I'm like, okay, four or five previews, let's
no go time.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Oh so no previews at any point? None interesting?
Speaker 2 (12:38):
No, they just launched into three.
Speaker 4 (12:39):
O'clock, because they've gotten to the point now where you
almost get like thirty minutes of it.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
I wonder if people maybe if they just figured, like, hey,
if we start this on time. I don't know, but
it was ready to go right at three, Like if
you walked into three h five, you missed kind of
an important first five minutes.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
So yeah, it's like when I was late for uh,
oh man, what was that movie? M Night Shyamalan, Bruce Willis, Oh,
the kid one I See Dead People? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I missed the first few minutes, so I like the
ending completely blew my mind.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
It's a big one to miss the beginning.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
Yeah, it's hard to make up for that. No, you
can't catch up. No No, I was like, what do
you mean mean? These guys said, I.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Got another hot take for you.
Speaker 4 (13:25):
Maryland.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
You can have your crab, you can have it. I'm
not dealing with it. I don't want to. Don't bring
me a hammer and a and a pincher, and Old
Bay is fine. It's totally fine.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
Over eighty.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
I don't think it's what about when they bring you
your shrimp in Maryland and they're like, oh, you peel
and eat?
Speaker 2 (13:42):
No, no to hell, how about you peel it?
Speaker 5 (13:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (13:45):
I was like, and I was there so much and
it's like, all right, you gotta get it. So I
did it. And I know in my head like Alaskan
is so much superior, the whole process is better. But
just the idea of like going through it, I'm just like,
what just happened? I got shards in my fingers. You
can have it, yeah, like crab cake and that's about it. Yeah,
(14:06):
just the rest of it you can have you really,
you really can. But it was good.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
It was good.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Other than that, give me, how are you? How's everything good?
Speaker 4 (14:16):
Good? It's good to you.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Got some be back.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
We're not ready for what's coming.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
No, it's going to too much.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
You know. I don't think any of us are, and
we usually aren't.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
So it does feel like it's all snuck up on us.
Speaker 4 (14:29):
Yes, even more.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
And I don't know, like do we always report this early?
This feels like a no report this early if you're
doing the Hall of Fame game?
Speaker 4 (14:38):
Correct, Yes, those teams had to report last Thursday.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
Yeah, is that like the Chargers?
Speaker 4 (14:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Did something change with the calendar?
Speaker 5 (14:48):
No? I don't know.
Speaker 4 (14:49):
Maybe just the way that just the way everything falls,
because I've always thought like the week in the twenties.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
Yeah was wait mid to late Yeah, then you report
in and you're in there. But to do it on
the eighteenth, it's pretty wild.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
Like we'll report on the eighteenth, three weeks from Friday's
preseason game number one, three weeks well, August day.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
But that see to me, that feels like a long time,
doesn't it? Like three weeks from Friday feels like, yes,
a long time, Like it feels like speaking would be plenty.
What am I missing?
Speaker 3 (15:25):
I think it's because they added in this whole ramp
up period, so like they're going to be back next
week on Monday.
Speaker 4 (15:34):
No, that's report Tuesday, Tuesday, Tuesday, rookies.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
And quarterbacks Friday, but their first training camp practice practice
is not until a week from Saturday, the twenty sixth.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Well, that makes sense, so you're right, it's the ramp up.
Speaker 4 (15:50):
It's just a ramp up. I think we're open to
the public on Friday the twenty fifth, are we Yeah?
Speaker 5 (15:56):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (15:56):
Today? Of that right, I think we are. And there
will be practice on Wednesday and Thursday at like four
thirty for us, for the media and internally. But Friday
is but the first one to the media, but again
that's all part of that ramp up.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Yeah, the first open training camp practice is on the
twenty fifth, but yeah, that's part of the ramp up.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
So yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Anyway we go that one.
Speaker 4 (16:22):
The ramp ups are tough to watch. Yeah, going on,
what are we doing?
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Yeah, I mean once we get into it, once you
get into the actual practicing, then you're gonna be watching
everything because you're going to want to know who's getting
red and when they get reps, like all of that stuff.
At the quarterback position alone, it's going to be I mean,
I don't know what it's like been for you guys
last couple of weeks, but everywhere I go, a friend
of mine, acquaintance of mine, or somebody who recognizes will stop,
Now what can this is what I think is going
(16:49):
to happen at quarterback? What do you what? How are
they going to do this? How's this gonning? I mean
that was NonStop. It was every anybody who knew I
was associated here, that's what that's what already wants to
know who's gonna be the quarterback Week one? And I
would tell you that, like the opinion on the possibilities
is wide ranging, and at times I think really off,
(17:10):
like very off like reality, but who knows, we'll see.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
So for me, I would say, if you were to
ask people who they want to start week one, or
at least people that have asked me who's going to
start Week one, and I give them my best educated guest,
which is the same as it's always been, which is
I think Kenny Pickett.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
Is likely to be the bronze starter in Week one.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
Could go any direction, but I'm saying to ends of today,
I would say it is eighty five percent people want Flacco,
fifteen percent want Shador, and I haven't heard one person
say they want Kenny Pickett, though he is the winningest
quarterback we've ever had in a Browne uniform since I
be here, or Dylan Gabriel.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
That's just strong and even though and so I think
you have I think the percentage, my percentages would probably
give Shadour a little bit more in Flacco a little
bit less, but the breakdown would be exactly how yours is.
Every once in a while I'll even get a picket.
I don't ever get a Gabriel, and I'm always quick
to remind people like they picked him first. Yes, and
(18:09):
they picked him higher than most people thought he was
going to get picked. That's how much they like him.
And it feels like it just falls on deaf ears
on deaf ears on deaf ears, and it's like that
isn't a that's not like you're in my opinion, that's
not scores. That's just what happened. The draft happened. They
liked him the most behind cam Ward. He was their guy, yep,
(18:32):
and so they they drafted him, and in some people's views,
maybe they overdrafted him. You're going to find out when
when you see what he's capable of. It like there
is a and I do think if they would, if
Shadur wouldn't have fallen and you wouldn't have taken a
lottery ticket, this conversation would be very very different. But
because it has happened, it's almost like Dylan gets just lost.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
One hundred percent. One hundred percent. They like him.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
I know comes Fansk, he likes him. There are a
lot of people that in this building that are very
high on him. We've seen some very good things from Shadur,
but now this is like go time. That was all
kind of speculation time. Now it's go time, and now
you're gonna see kind of what they think. And my
guess is, and I've kind of said it all along,
I think, can you pick itt as a leader in
the clubhouse? Could somebody just come up and seize the job? Yes,
(19:19):
I still think from and Chador is busting his button.
I'd love the way he throws a ball. And you know,
I am a big Chador fan. I think that that
learning curve that he's going through right now, and he's
definitely putting in the work, you know, makes it hard
to see him do that.
Speaker 4 (19:30):
And I also think the schedule.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
I think on some level you want set somebody up
for success and now maybe they're just transcendent. But that
typically would be like if Shador were picked second yep,
then you'd probably say, Okay, you're getting him right now.
All the other stuff would still be true in terms
of what he would have to ramp up to get
ready to do here, but you would say, okay, maybe,
(19:53):
but this start, I mean, you're talking Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Baltimore,
Green Bay, Detroit, Minnesota at Pittsburgh. That's your first six.
Like that is brutally, brutally tough. So I just think
the idea that it would be a rookie there. So
to me, it's kind of like Kenny Pickett and then
you know, Joe Flacco is you know, breaking the case
(20:15):
of emergency, break the glass in case emergency and use them.
But that would feel to me like Picket just flopped
in this in this training camp audition.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Yes, yeah, yeah, that's yeah. I mean we've been talking
about that for a while, and that's that's kind of
the way that it seems. I mean, Kenny is about
the same age as Dylan, he's slightly older, not much, yea.
But you basically have three bites at the quarterback apple
here with with Picket and the two rookies, and and
Flacco is, boy, this isn't going well. We know what
this is going to look like. Let's put Joe in
(20:46):
here and stabilize this thing. But this is an ownership
talked about this throughout the off season. This is a
This is very much a transition season. And you hope
that does that does not mean that that everyone who's
out there is not going to go try to make
the postseason, win the division, all those things, but the
reality is that you are transitioning from a team that
was being built in a certain way to a name
(21:07):
that's now being rebuilt on the fly in real time
with some core pieces.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
And certainly, and you know now right, you'd have to
say that.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
What we thought, even that our we thought if there
was going to be an identity on offense right now
now that's almost in Flox. You could say it's at
least in the up in the air in terms of
what it was, because Dylan Samson is a lot.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
More Jerome Ford.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
They're more you know, Samson sec offense play of the year.
Could he be the guy? Absolutely? Could Ford? You know,
Ford average over five redsco was very good last year.
So I still think you can run the ball. But
in terms of having that like physical guy you know
right now, unfortunately that's up in the air with the
with the legal situation surrounding Quinchhn Jenkins.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
Well, I mean you can't. And we talked about this
off the top. He's he's the second round back at
running back, like he's supposed to replace that guy, right, yeah, right, that.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
That's why that's a significant investment at that position, especially
in our building. And again we'll let it all play out.
Some of the things that are emerging certainly do not
seem good, but we will let it all. That's all
going to play itself out and we'll we'll find out
what that is. But it probably feels like at this point,
you know, given what we experienced, you know, last year
(22:26):
unfortunately with my call again second round pick and with
six games, Yeah, wasn't it. Yeah, So it feels likely
that there's gonna be something.
Speaker 5 (22:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
Yeah, so yeah, that wasn't That's.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
This year's tough.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
I mean, I think that, you know, going into next year,
like the ideals if you're the Cleveland Browns, the ideal
situation is this is that you and you say, how
is this possible?
Speaker 4 (22:49):
And I'll kind of lay it out for you. It's
a very very tough schedule.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
The ideal situation is that next year, by the end
of this season, maybe it's like the final five games
and maybe they aren't necessarily wins, but you see like
oh Man Shadoor or Dylan Gabriel or even pick it
can be the guy. My guess is if you start
week one, by the time you get to the end
of the season, it's not going to be that, but
that you have an idea that those guys are the
(23:13):
guys and that perhaps you have a draft pick that's
still in a valuable enough place that maybe that can
become more than all of a sudden. You could be
like we have three ones next year, two ones the
year after that.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
You can like.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
Add mega talent at a great many positions, which we've
talked about. We're gonna have needs, you know, coming out
of this season. There's gonna be questions of cornerback. There's
gonna be questions to tackle. The biggest question remains quarterback.
Hopefully you feel like you've sawd that, but you definitely
could use another wide receiver. You're gonna need another defensive end,
like there are.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
This team, interior offensive line.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
This team has a great deal of needs it does
going forward.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
Yeah, so if one of those two kids can can
be most people had shadur As going in the top
ten in the draft YEP in the lead up to it.
If that evaluate and even the people who had him
who were the most hardest at him had him in
the top thirty five in the draft, so top of
(24:07):
the second round. If he can play to that level,
or if Dylan can play to that level, that is
a lottery ticket in the biggest way possible. And I
think one thing you and I feel. I don't want
to speak for you, but the way I feel is
I want to see both of them to see which
one it is. If it's one of I don't I
hope they both get to play meaningful snaps. So we
(24:28):
hope they both get to start regular season games unless
one of them is so good that it leaves no doubt.
But if there's even a slightest bit of doubt, I'd
like to see him both agreed. Agreed, I mean, the
only way out of it.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
There's a world in which listen, and I'll just throw
this out there. There's also a world in which Kenny
Pickett is really good. Kenny Pickett starts from a season
and plays better than anybody thinks. We've got a good
run gamey. This is a system that people thought would
probably be the best system for him to play in
in his national Football LEAUE career and never got a
chance to do it. Once Arthur Smith came in, he
was out because then you have Kenny Pickett and you say, oh,
(25:04):
Easton's rookie deal right now, maybe that's somebody that could
be our guy for a while. Or if he leaves
and commands good money. You get like a free third
round pick out of it. So there's a lot to
look at here in terms of how all this plays out.
But you want, in my opinion, one of those three
guys to feel like the guy because then that allows
you to draft like Caleb Downs and another player, because
(25:28):
the reality is if they're not, you're gonna end up
most likely using depending on how bad it gets, either
one of your ones or two of your ones to
get a quarterback again next year. Which getting that right
is the most important thing, it's the only thing. But
that's you know, that's why this is an interesting season
because it is a season in transition, and yet you
(25:48):
still have some.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
Unbelievable parts of your core.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
And that's what makes this I think going to be
kind of like a fascinating watch. But I think like
the number one thing is to win games. The number
two thing behind that is to get an answer at
the quarterback position. Yeah, like for and you're looking at
the season and the answer could be that yes, this
we can go with one of these guys, or no,
we cannot go with any of them. But I do
(26:17):
think you need to have some type of an idea
on that by the end of the year. And to
your point, it's almost like you could see the season
being played in like you know six five six or
six six' Five like, yes quarterback.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
Tranches, YEAH i mean like if and you give the
person whoever, Goes i'd like to see. That like but you,
say you.
Speaker 3 (26:39):
Whoever is up first has the opportunity to turn that
plan on its.
Speaker 4 (26:43):
Head.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Yeah If pickett goes first and he's great in the
first six.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
Go, yeah, yeah live or and then if you, know
let's say IT'S i think if It's gabriel, next then
he has the chance to run with. It.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
Yeah but if you end up.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
In, that you know, situation that's a lot of what
this year. Is this defense is definitely good enough to,
Win there's no question about. IT i think that this
run game was definitely set up to be good enough to.
Win with this offensive, LINE i think still is better
than people, think even with kind of this question mark
now that has to be out. There this team's not
(27:21):
GONNA i don't think we're going to be a shootout, team,
no BUT i do think we have the ability to
be a, tough competitive football team THAT i think is
better than what the perception of it is is slated to,
be but is also on a mission To it's a
year people always ask, me.
Speaker 5 (27:39):
LIKE.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
I think it would we would be significant underdogs to
win THE Afc. North, YEAH i think that's fair to
say we'd be significant underdogs to go to the playoffs
and win The Super.
Speaker 4 (27:49):
Bowl doesn't mean.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
That it's, okay, right doesn't mean it's not, possible but
What vegas is saying that that's. Unlikely so this is
a season, though WHERE i, think at the end of,
it if this season accomplishes in my mind what it
needs to accomplish by the end of the, season like
you are going to be jonesing for twenty twenty Six
Cleveland browns.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
Football, yeah, YEAH i think That's, yeah that's but and
that's the way you eat that this has to. Be
that's the Way i'm viewing. It, yeah that way is That.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
I'd love to be pleasantly.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
Of, course of, Course but to the, question if you,
know you've got four quarterbacks in that, room and you
got you got a roster that's in a little bit of,
transition so nobody down there is going to care about.
It they're going to start doing the work starting On
friday to build towards it and and we'll see what
all of it's all. About but, yeah that's that's kind
of where you're. At it's hard to believe that we're
already here. Again those are your hot topics, today presented
(28:40):

(29:46):
week we had done the entire offense and now we
will handle The browns, defense and we will start in
the defensive line. Room and anytime you start, here of,
course you start With Miles. Garrett around him is a
lot of, youth a heavy invested and heavy investment has
been made on this in this, group my.
Speaker 5 (30:05):
Friend.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Ye and they need some of these guys to be.
Speaker 4 (30:08):
Dudes, YEAH i mean they.
Speaker 3 (30:10):
DO i think this is probably the strongest room on
the roster right. Now you, know you look at your
your defensive. Ends we'll start with that. ROOM i think
it's actually gonna be pretty tough for them to figure
out exactly kind of what they want this room ultimately
to look. Like you got, obviously let's go with the
(30:31):
guys who are locks to make this. Team you've Got Miles,
Garrett you've Got isaiah. McGuire i think those are probably your. Starters.
Yep And isam McGuire played great last year for The Cleland,
bruns one of the best run defending defensive ends in The
National Football league according To Pro Football, focus had an
excellent season and they think he can take even another
step this. Season you Get alex Right, back who has
(30:51):
played very well when, healthy but that's starting to become
not a, concern but you need him to stay on the.
Field then you bring In Joe tryon Shoy, inca and
he's an interesting one because this is a former first round.
Pick this is of The Tampa Bay. Buccaneers he kind
of fits in some ways exactly what The browns want to.
Do he had been kind of four or five sacks
(31:13):
each of his first three years in the. League last
year only, three but they moved kind of a different.
System he's playing outside. Linebacker now he's going to be
a stand up you, know he's going to be an
end who's gonna BE i think in pass rushing situations
for The.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
Browns six,' five.
Speaker 3 (31:26):
Two sixty, he's long, HE'S explosive i kind, of like
and he's had a he's definitely had a. Good camp
so this is a guy that you make a nice little,
investment in Who's, got enshoyinka who's got, great upside, Great
pedigree and now you're putting them in a situation where
he's gonna have a whole heck of a lot of,
opportunity to, you know Work against siagle coverage exclusively and
(31:50):
see what that looks like.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
For him now, behind him.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
They also Brought, in aquara who has, you know been
in the league for quite some time. As well third
round pick in twenty twenty is. Best season he had
five sacks in twenty. Twenty one he's got five the last.
Three combined he's fighting for a. ROSTER spot i think
these top four guys are in a pretty. GOOD spot
i think that he's fighting for a. Roster spot and
then the guy that played really darned well for the
For the browns last Year Is, cam THOMAS and i
(32:16):
think he's somebody that you've got to. Take seriously played
WELL as i, talked about made plays in, the backfield
his great on a person at basis was excellent last
year For.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
The browns and.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
He's somebody that they brought in in the middle of.
The season he was a former third round pick Of.
The cardinals had a sack With the browns in, five
games had four tackles for loss in. FIVE games i
liked what he brought to. The team now You know
Obo okoron quo was, let go so that makes it
a little. Easier HERE but i think you're going to
get five of.
Speaker 4 (32:44):
THESE guys i think.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
FOUR locks i think you're Looking at Thomas and okuara
for that for that, fifth spot or, you know maybe somebody.
Who SURPRISES but i think that's kind of where you
are in that. Defensive endrow you.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
Talked about six, GUYS there i mean six guys that
they think very. Highly on they had seven and they.
Had seven so now you're, talking about, you know six
guys five spots.
Speaker 4 (33:04):
For, sure yeah you.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
Think, about yeah the way that, THEY rotate i think
you're gonna get. Pretty much, you Know with schwartz here
it's been five on five ends and five tackles ten
getting to ten.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
Defensive linemen, All right so now we go to the
interior of the defensive. Line yep and the headliner here
obviously is your first, round Pick Right.
Speaker 4 (33:25):
Mason GRAHAM and i think that he's going to Be
a day one starter. For you they like him.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
A lot the idea that you compare Him With, mike
hall second round pick from a, year ago they are
incredibly excited.
Speaker 4 (33:35):
About that my call.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Is explosive he jumped off the tape when you watched him.
Last year so you've got those two, young guys and
then you Brought In. Malik collins And What malik collins
is on the interior is a professional.
Speaker 4 (33:49):
Pass rusher.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
He knows how to get to. The quarterback that's what
he has done his. Entire career former third round pick
Of the cowboys in two thousand and, Six team he's
had at least five sacks in each of the last.
Two seasons he's had a five sex Season, with houston
a five sex season With, the niners a five sex Season.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
With dallas he is a.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
Consistent disruptor in. The backfield he's had multiple seasons with
eight or more tackles. For lost three of the last
four he's had at least eight tackles.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
For loss he is.
Speaker 3 (34:17):
A professional, pass rusher, a veteran and he is going
to be in there with those, young GUYS and i
think that's kind of going to be your main three.
Man rotation and then, you're, saying well, you know We
had dalvin who was excellent. For us we're much more
pass rush oriented now in that And the browns Really
Believe mason graham is going to be a good. Pass
rusher You Got shelby harris, as well the veteran who
can do. It all and then He Got, juwan BRIGGS
(34:38):
who i think fills some of that run stopping need
that You, had briggs as, you remember such a strong
player Was the browns drafted in the seventh round in
the twenty, four draft got some action late in the season.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
And played well at the point.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
Of ATTACK as, i said incredibly strong guy, six one,
Three Thirteen stocky Stout And, JWAN briggs i think is
going to be kind of the run stopper of. That
group you've got athletic Attackers and Graham and Hall and Collins.
And Harrison then briggs is going to be kind of that.
Bull THERE and, I like i think that's that's. The
room are there gonna be people that compete in both of? These,
Rooms Yes aiden huntington is somebody who. Will Compete, Ralph
(35:18):
Holly sam kamara who always seems to stick around With The,
Cleveland Browns ellison smith at the. End ROOM but i
think you've GOT guys i like that room. A lot,
you know injuries, change, things obviously but you're Talking about
miles first, Round, pick shoyinka first, Round, pick hall second,
Round pick graham first. Round pick there's some real Talent
(35:39):
that collins is a, Third Rounder alex wright's a. Third
rounder there's some real talent in. This room thomas was the.
Third rounder okuorra was a. Third rounder there's a lot
of guys that were well thought of in, that ROOM
and i think that that's they need to be the
engine of this, whole thing and hopefully we can be
in competitive situations where they're able to do the things
(35:59):
that they, do best.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
WHICH is i think this group is going to get after.
Speaker 2 (36:02):
The, Quarterback yeah I'm gonna i'm gonna give you a
stat line and you tell me if this is Realistic
For mason graham because. It's hard he's, defensive tackle so
it's hard for fans to see the disruption all. The
time And so i'm gonna give you a. Stat line two,
force fumbles one, fumble recovery, six sacks thirty three, total
(36:23):
tackles eight tackles, for LOSS nine. Qb HITS do i.
Speaker 4 (36:28):
Think that would?
Speaker 5 (36:29):
Be?
Speaker 4 (36:29):
Good, yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
YEAH yeah i think when you're picked, SO overall i
think you've got to be the GUY that i was
going to go look up was?
Speaker 4 (36:34):
The guy so That Was.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
Jalen, Carter okay So What jalen carter did so he
was second And defensive rookie Of. The year he played
last year was his. Second year he was Made The,
PRO bowl Ap Second Team, all pro all of. Those
things but as a rookie he was, six sacks eight tackles,
for loss two. Force FUMBLES so.
Speaker 3 (36:51):
I was looking at the kid From. The rams that's
who immediately want to.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
Look, Up Yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
Bryden, fisk yeah who was the thirty ninth pick in,
the draft and he and his eight and a, half
sacks ten tackles for, a loss to, forced fumbles two.
FUMBLE recoveries i Think.
Speaker 2 (37:05):
That so that's the impact you should get when you
pick a guy.
Speaker 5 (37:08):
That.
Speaker 2 (37:08):
High, FIFTH yes, i mean because you're, Talking thirties jalen
probably would have. Been higher he had the off field stuff,
for sure but he probably would have. BEEN higher i think,
most people a lot of people thought he's maybe the
best overall player in.
Speaker 5 (37:18):
That.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
Draft yep but at the, same time if you're going high,
like that that impact needs to be there in that
vicinity and that's a lot. Of pressure but that comes
with being picked where.
Speaker 3 (37:28):
He, was picked because people, will, say well, You Know
jordan davis was picked thirteenth overall and he's got three
and a half sacks in three years in. The League
jordan davis is six six three hundred and forty pounds.
Speaker 4 (37:39):
He is that's not what.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
He is he's the guy that is supposed to occupy
and disrupt so that everybody else.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Can feast and that's Partly why jalen, does feast because
he's right Next to.
Speaker 3 (37:49):
He's got all the ends and all. Of That mason
graham is six three. Three twenty he is he is.
Supposed to he is an up the. Field guy that's
what he is supposed.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
To be that's Why If carter carter six three, two
fourteen so they're very, three fourteen so.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
Very similar grandma's a little lighter in that the COmON
thing it was two. Ninety seven, but yes that's that's
what it's supposed.
Speaker 2 (38:10):
To, be yeah that's what the impact.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
Quite frankly the guy that has that kind of talent
in his being is.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
My call my call for sure has that type.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
Of, talent yeah, those two like if you those two
are guys who are combining for let's, call it they're
seventeen seventeen sacks, a year That's what i'm. Talking about
even if they're combined for twelve sacks a, year fourteen,
you know we're going to be a darn good spot
a much. Better spot but these guys have. To Go
and mason grim whin you're pick. Fifth, overall yeah you
(38:41):
have got to be an impact player and that impact.
Speaker 4 (38:43):
Has to be felt as a. Pass rusher, It does it.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
Just does and you go back, to Like and i'm
not saying it's Gonna Be, aaron Donald But aaron donald
comes in the league and goes, nine sacks, eleven sacks, eight,
sacks eleven, twenty twelve, Thirteen twelve.
Speaker 4 (38:56):
Like the guys that are.
Speaker 3 (38:58):
That good, you know he was a thirteenth. Pick, overall
again he's the greatest who ever? Do it so, not fair,
but like you, GOTTA go i think early in your
career you, gotta go and you gotta be ready, to
roll especially if you're, a STARTER like.
Speaker 5 (39:13):
I think the.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
Great ones to our point that we're making here and
we just got did two guys who were drafted in
the last two drafts and you use the greatest of
all time maybe they ever played, the, position yep but
there is no learning curve at. That position that usually
if you're a guy at, that position you're a guy,
right away a guy and, it's known, it's obvious and
it jumps Off and the hard thing with mini camp,
is like what can? He do there's nothing really he
(39:35):
can do to. MAKE you i mean a lot of
times they were off on its side like there's there's nothing, You,
doing no he can't so like you're really not going
to see the impact that he can have until you get,
into camp until you get fully. Padded up that's when
you'll have a better feel about what he's. Capable, of
yeah but. That's it but you got Him and mike
(39:56):
now in, the middle two young guys anchoring. The middle
miles can age with them through his, Prime yep and
now you're. Onto.
Speaker 3 (40:03):
SOMETHING yeah I mean i talked to SOME former gm
in the league when you know we. Were next we
were talking About Obviously mike hall last year and he,
Goes Him mike hall Next To miles garrett should. Be
unfair it should. Be unfair and that's something that we're
certainly hoping that we, can see, you know. This year
(40:25):
that's what we want to that's what we're hoping.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
To see how many in this uh what's the number?
On this you got five? D ns are you? Gonna
go are you going.
Speaker 3 (40:34):
Like if it, was today it Would be garrett, McGuire
right Try, And Schoenka cam Thomas, or akora And, Then Mason,
Mike Hall Mollie collins Shelby And.
Speaker 4 (40:44):
Juwan briggs.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
There, you go and and A A miles garrett that is,
is happy is motivated and ready. To go and and
we'll see what what he can do as a non
core from what he's, been already which is a gold jacket.

Speaker 4 (41:44):
Air DOC so I know jim when he talked to
us that He thinks miles can have really put the.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
Challenge chances of his best.
Speaker 4 (41:50):
Season ever when we Talked to myles and he seemed to.
Accept that just what do you what do you think about?
Speaker 6 (41:54):
All, that well that season looks, like, yeah obviously, you
know after going through the season that we had, last
year and and and, You know mouse had a really,
good season but, you know he left a lot of
meat on, the bone and he himself SAID that i can.
Do BETTER so I know miles is a, prideful man
and he works, extremely HARD and i know he's gonna
go out here and put, his best, you know best
foot forward and go out and dominate like he. Usually does,
(42:16):
so YEAH do i expect our best players to play
their best?
Speaker 5 (42:19):
For?
Speaker 6 (42:19):
Us absolutely and and if he happens to have the
best year of, his life, you know the best best
season of, his life then, Next year i'm gonna want,
even more. You know so so, you know it's about
him coming out, every day working to, get better working
with the guys every day and and and helping them.
Get BETTER and i think we'll.
Speaker 5 (42:37):
Be fine it's one of your Impressions On. MASON'S graham I.
Speaker 6 (42:40):
Love mason you know THE thing i Love, about, mason right,
YOU know I mean i think everybody you know heard,
you know he ate a little bit too much and
he threw up that. First day but what a lot
of people are not. Talking about is that the. Kid,
finished okay he went back, out there, you know puke,
and all and finished.
Speaker 5 (42:55):
A rep.
Speaker 6 (42:56):
You know but here's a kid that every day he.
Got better every day he came. Out here he's running
to the balls as fast as. You could you see
his rush. Game developing you see him launching. With hands
it's gonna, be hard, you know obviously coming from a
red scheme going to an. Attack scheme but he's done
a really good job and he's great in, the room extremely,
smart individual.
Speaker 5 (43:14):
Hard WORKING so i can't wait to see him gone.
Speaker 4 (43:17):
To, play yeah what part of the draft process did
you learn the Most About?
Speaker 5 (43:22):
Mason graham was it at the combine or the?
Speaker 6 (43:24):
Visit, HERE well i usually start watching these guys like the,
year PRIOR and i remember telling our guys, you know
you know there's a Kid at michigan right now that
you know that guy, can move, you know and he
has a lot of, rush moves and then he has,
strong hands and we got to take a look. At
him and our guys were already on and, they're, like yeah.
We know and, you know as you start, watching tape,
(43:45):
watching tape, watching tape he, just started, you know really
liking a guy more and more and more, and more
and just started fitting the, pieces, together like, oh man
if he was on this side playing with, this guy
imagine what he. Could do so it was, nice that,
you know the our whole process here for. PICKING players
i love it because, you know you actually have a say,
(44:05):
in things AND and ab does a.
Speaker 5 (44:07):
Great job all the scouts do a.
Speaker 6 (44:08):
Great job so the more the more AND more i
just started, watching them the more AND more i just, felt, like,
hey man like this kid is gonna be perfect for what.
We do and so here we are, right Now and
i'm excited.
Speaker 5 (44:20):
For, THAT.
Speaker 6 (44:22):
Well i met him at the, thirty visit but those are,
really short, you know and and really you start zooming
with guys and talking with guys and things. Like that
but no, matter what you could, do That and i've
done that with a lot of players over. The years no,
matter what it doesn't really count for me until they
step in. That building when they step in, that building
you get to see their habits. Every, Day right who?
This person is he a guy that comes?
Speaker 5 (44:43):
In? Early yes is he a guy that hits the? Feel?
Speaker 6 (44:45):
Early yes is he a guy that wants to work. After,
Practice yes so then that's when you, start, realizing, like
man this guy not only is he a really really,
good player but he's a probably one of the hardest
working guys that. We got so you know that that
that's a good little rest be for success IN.
Speaker 5 (45:01):
The nfl is that how.
Speaker 7 (45:03):
You when you guys have a guy like a, read
scheme like he Was a michigan coming to, An attack
is that those traits how you were able to kind
of project how he'll fair or going from one scheme to.
Speaker 5 (45:14):
The other that's a.
Speaker 6 (45:15):
Great, question okay because a lot of there's not a
lot of tag teams in. College football but when you
see a guy start penetrating and he's in a, read,
scheme right and he's penetrating a line, Of scrimmage i'm
not talking about. One yard i'm talking, about three four
or five yards in, the backfield getting tackle velocitis or
setting other people up to. Make plays that's when, You're,
(45:35):
like okay this kid can do what we're we're gonna
ask him.
Speaker 5 (45:38):
To do.
Speaker 6 (45:38):
You know so you know a lot, of people, you
know you're getting in these discussions with people about, you
know penetration, or disruption which one you.
Speaker 5 (45:44):
LIKE more i like.
Speaker 6 (45:45):
Him both but you have to have certain traits in order, to.
Penetrate right you, gotta have, you know good quick. Quick
twitch you gotta have a great. Get off you gotta,
be strong, you know and and and load of is
a low center, of gravity and You don't you don't
need a big three hundred and sixty three hundred pound man.
The pantry you just need a guy that's about two
ninety three hundred and just wants to go all.
Speaker 2 (46:06):
Along the lines of.
Speaker 1 (46:08):
His fit there's been so much made the last couple.
Speaker 8 (46:10):
Of years of Like Having miles garrett kind of having
like a sidekick on the other side of the defensive
line and with. Like areas but is it almost more
Beneficial to miles to have Somebody like mason who's next
to him and he kind of the block up like
work on the same side of.
Speaker 5 (46:23):
The.
Speaker 6 (46:23):
TAMS yeah I mean i always, talk about, you know four, equals,
one right we need four four rushers working together at.
All times so it's not Just about miles and a
sidekick or Or or miles and somebody else on the
other side. Of him it's just four guys working together
to rush the quarterback that has to, be coordinated and
everybody has to have some kind of. Rush ability if
(46:44):
you only have one guy with rush ability, out there
then that guy's gonna have a freaking long day and
the rest of those guys are gonna be stuck on
a lot. Of scrimmers so everybody has to has to
pitch in on the rush having any type of penetrating.
Defensive tackle in an, attack scheme rushing the quarterback is
always good cause the quarter back can't step up if
the pocket is, getting collapsed if the pocket is, getting
squeezed you know My what mile's. Gonna, Do right so
(47:05):
if the pocket is getting collapsed by, you, know uh
it Could, be mason it Could Be, malie collins it
Could Be, sam kamar it Could Be, juwan briggs whoever.
It is if they're collapsing the pocket and we got
the ends coming around on, the edge it's a beautiful thing.
Speaker 8 (47:19):
After change mason said when we talked to him during
that it would be like taking the clups off him, from.
Speaker 5 (47:27):
Attack right what does? That, mean well, you know.
Speaker 6 (47:31):
You, know what, you know most most, defensive schemes they're
asking their defensive line to hold blocks, up right take on,
double teams whole blocks up so the linebackers can be
free and go. Make, Money Right and i'm, just like,
huh yeah, you know, YOU know i want my guys
to be the first time. THE scene i want my
guys to be, the penetrators, the disruptors and them got
them to make the plays and and them to make.
Speaker 5 (47:53):
The.
Speaker 6 (47:53):
Money okay so so when you're talking about, read scheme
a lot of that is staying on the line, of,
scrimmage right holding up blocks, for guys, you know holding up,
you know double teams and things. Like that when you're talking,
about attack. We don't we don't take on. Double teams
our linebackers. Coming downhill they're the ones that are cleaning
things up, for us not the other. Way around so
(48:14):
we put a big effasis on. The front you gotta
have guys that want to go out there and. Make
plays we.
Speaker 5 (48:19):
Not have.
Speaker 6 (48:19):
We don't we take the, handcuffs off Meaning that i'm
not gonna tell, A, guy hey you gotta worry about
this block and this block and. This block i'm gonna tell,
A guy i want you to get off the ball
as fast as, you, can okay, with speed violence, and,
Precision okay and go. Make plays go. Make plays we
want to give, You, money okay in order to, do
that you gotta go.
Speaker 2 (48:38):
Make plays obviously, we know, You know miles makes that
trade request then signs of.
Speaker 5 (48:45):
The contract when he.
Speaker 2 (48:46):
Comes back does it feel like he's all the way back?
Speaker 6 (48:48):
In? NOW yeah i DON'T even i don't even. Remember,
that okay? All right that that that's the. First thing,
second thing every every player is entitled to the, gal
opinion if, you know if that's how he felt at,
the time that's how.
Speaker 5 (48:58):
He felt, you, know people we can change. Their.
Speaker 6 (49:00):
Minds okay and obviously he's. Here now, he's happy he's
engaged with. The guys, you know he was working his butt.
Off yesterday So so miles. Is here he's all the way.
Bought in he loves what we've done with the, defensive
LINE and i know he can't wait to get the.
Speaker 8 (49:14):
SEASON started i wanted to Ask about alex because losing
him last year and how he's worked coming back from
that tricep and.
Speaker 4 (49:21):
It seems like he's.
Speaker 8 (49:22):
Coming with a whole new mentality and change his.
Speaker 2 (49:24):
Body composition what have you seen from him?
Speaker 5 (49:26):
So, far yeah just the.
Speaker 6 (49:27):
SAME thing, i mean he's just, a tough physical defensive
end that knows how to rush the pastor, with physicality
AND and i just like how he sets. The edge,
you know he has some position flex where he can
play inside and give us a, good rush play outside
and give us a. Good rush and the guys just
to hard work or just, another, hungry fast physical guy
that we need on this. Defensive line what do you
think his ceiling could be with. THIS TEAM i i
(49:50):
believe everybody's ceiling. Is limitless, you know if you're willing
to put in, the work grind, it out learn as
much as, you can and you believe in yourself anything.
Speaker 5 (49:58):
As possible but there.
Speaker 2 (50:00):
You go should be the strength of, this team or
certainly one of them that. Defensive line jackson's air in
charge of putting it. All together coming up second hour of,
the program we continue With the browns quarter century team
made of a player since. Two thousand we will pick
the defense this week and we will start on the
defensive line that is coming up next to you Listen

betch you placed the first wager of ten or More
bally bet official sports winning partner Of Your. Cleveland browns
two weeks ago, before hiatus we put together the. Offensive
side what was our? Total number we ended UP With
a from a numerical breakdown, roster, wise offensively were we
(51:21):
at twenty?
Speaker 4 (51:22):
Five.
Speaker 3 (51:22):
Offense no twenty four to? TWENTY six i think twenty. Four,
offense yeah that's where we.
Speaker 5 (51:26):
Ended.
Speaker 3 (51:27):
Up yeah always he your on the defense because, right
now in, my mind it'd be ten down the, d
line probably six, at linebacker ten and. The, secondary okay,
all right so we did the offense five Eleven depend.
Speaker 2 (51:39):
Now we will do the defensive line and we will
do the defense throughout. This week so we're gonna pick
two starters at, defensive end two starters at, defensive tackle
and then we will fill out that room with ten.
Of them i'll.
Speaker 5 (51:55):
Tell you what.
Speaker 2 (51:56):
You've got you have some very nice, players here but
you also have like you, crushed one and then you
have a bunch of names that at times just didn't.
LIVE up i mean they. Just didn't and you Think About,
gerard warren you Think About, Courtney, brown yep that's way before.
MY time i couldn't. Give it you could probably speak
to that better than either of us could in terms
(52:17):
of what happened with those.
Speaker 4 (52:18):
TWO Guys, rd warren the. Ladies man cavasier was he.
Speaker 2 (52:23):
But HE was i mean he was a was he the?
Second Pick And coney courtney? Was second?
Speaker 5 (52:29):
Or?
Speaker 2 (52:29):
First? FIRST first i was.
Speaker 3 (52:31):
Confused earlier you're talking about this team we may have had.
TWENTY five i know we. Had ten we had ten
linemen ON the.
Speaker 2 (52:37):
I thought you did it on, a thing didn't you do?
Speaker 5 (52:38):
Any? O yeah it?
Speaker 2 (52:40):
On, Spreadheet right actually it might be on this piece
of PAPER that i have.
Speaker 4 (52:43):
Right, here, no that's. On here there, we go, all
right we've got actually it.
Speaker 2 (52:47):
Bled through it looks like we had.
Speaker 4 (52:49):
Twenty four we got two at quarterback for a.
Speaker 3 (52:52):
Running backs that's six six, at receivers twelve three, ten
ends fifteen and ten. Offensive line i'm in, twenty, five.
Speaker 2 (53:01):
Okay so we're gonna go twenty five twenty five, then,
yep okay, all.
Speaker 5 (53:04):
Right.
Speaker 2 (53:06):
YEAH so i mean that's what that's what this kind
of it's one of this is like one of those
things where it's Like thank God for miles because otherwise
you got in terms of where that in terms of
where some of these guys were drafted just didn't live
up to.
Speaker 3 (53:19):
The draft, sob no but we're looking at him like In.
Their browns So like clowney had a nine sax season With.
The browns, oh yeah, for sure so he would be
on there.
Speaker 5 (53:30):
You.
Speaker 3 (53:30):
Would have my guess is it's Gonna Be, Garrett clowney
Zadarius And. Olivier vernon that's probably. My Guess courtney brown
and to, Your Point. Gerard warren those are the, two big.
Speaker 4 (53:42):
Big disappointments so here's. The thing here's the interesting Thing
About gerard WARREN that i didn't Realize The gerard. Warren
had he had sixteen and a half sacks in four years. For,
US really i thought he was a. Complete Bust and
(54:04):
i'm not saying like he went third overall so given where, he,
went yes but he had four, forced fumbles four, fumble
recoveries he had sixteen and a. HALF sacks i mean
the one year he had sixty.
Speaker 2 (54:22):
One, tackles, Jeez, YEAH brown i just Pulled up courtney
and there's there gott To be browns fans who remember this.
TIME vividly i Have A courtney. Brown, Jersey yeah i'm sure.
That's right he had four and a half sacks as,
a rookie second season cut short due. To injuries still
four and a half and five games in his, second
year and he just couldn't. Stay healthy he was hurt
(54:42):
constantly from two. To four when. He played, you know
he was pretty productive when. He played he had a
six sax season in thirteen games in two thousand, and
three and then it was kind. Of done he finished
his Career in denver in two thousand, and five and
that was kind. Of it but it's really one of
those things where if you go all the way back
(55:03):
and you you kind of do the history, of this,
you know this sense the return and all of it
when you're picked number one in back to, back years
and it's and you don't have the infrastructure in place
to support it in the Case of couch And then
brown gets hurt And then warren the next it's like
those all need in order to go all of those
need to, be, dudes yep and they. Just weren't they
(55:26):
were for. Various reasons they just.
Speaker 4 (55:27):
Want, To, mean yeah you talk about missing on your
top picks, Ninety nine couch number one around number it
was just in such a two thousand and one warn at.
Speaker 2 (55:38):
Number, Three yeah so like and And the, COUCH one i,
just THINK is i give him a PASS because. I
was i just don't know that anyone could have. SURVIVED it,
I mean I think I Think david carr was a
better quarterback coming Out Of fresident State Than. Derek Carr
But derek carr went into an advantageous position With, the
Raiders And david carr was Sent To, slaughter yes with an,
(56:02):
expansion team the same thing that Happened. To couch, so
like if you land in, DIFFERENT spots I just i
just Feel, like couches it's just stinks because you're number
one overall and you probably feel like you win in.
That instance but if he goes Five to philly Or
wherever donovan, McNabb went how's?
Speaker 5 (56:17):
It?
Speaker 2 (56:18):
Different right so that's that's a. Tough one but so
you're thinking ten in this, GROUP here.
Speaker 3 (56:25):
I probably i think it's. GONNA be i think we're
gona end up. AT nine i think it's a little
bit of a stretch to.
Speaker 2 (56:29):
Get, There obviously miles is all time franchise starting. Defensive
ends so that's that's one you got very. VERY right,
i mean who Starts. Opposite miles It's.
Speaker 4 (56:42):
Either Clowney Or.
Speaker 3 (56:43):
OLIVIER vernon i think you can get to five in
this defensive end room of like. QUALITY players i think
it is a lot harder.
Speaker 4 (56:50):
In the defensive. Tackle, Room yeah like to me it
would be It'd Bej.
Speaker 3 (56:55):
DEBIAN clowney I think clowney Was when Clowney and miles
the year he was that Year when clowney, HAD nine
i thought that was about as good as it got as.
Speaker 2 (57:04):
A part as, a Part and olivier was.
Speaker 3 (57:06):
Really good we've had nine sacks in twenty twenty and
then never, played again.
Speaker 4 (57:09):
Which IS why i would TELL you I Think jabal
shared had some amazing years. For us I'd Put ja
ball he was gonna be, My, fifth.
Speaker 2 (57:16):
Yeah and then You have Zidarius.
Speaker 6 (57:18):
And.
Speaker 4 (57:18):
Ball yeah shared in four years his first two years
he had seven and. Eight, sacs yeah seven, forced, fumbles
yeah twenty. Three sacks what's hard?
Speaker 3 (57:28):
About, this too is defensive end defensive Tackle, is like,
For Example desmond bryant's a. Defensive tackle he played defensive
END for us because that's he was a three to four,
Defensive end so he's really a. Defensive tackle Same With,
billy wins really a. Defensive TACKLE but i THINK those
i think those are The Five, Garrett Clowney, vernon Smith and.
Speaker 4 (57:45):
Jabal, shared like that's a pretty darn.
Speaker 2 (57:46):
Good, room, YEAH.
Speaker 3 (57:51):
Yeah I think i'd go four in the. Defensive defense tackle.
Speaker 2 (57:53):
One's tough yeah they what Was the, oh, yeah jeez
there's another one that like You had, ogba here, He
blossomed he really blossomed out. Of here he had those
two Years in miami where he had nine sacks back to.
BACK years, i mean? What's crazy drafted top of the
(58:14):
Second Round? Emmanuel, agua yeah. In sixteen what's CRAZY is.
Speaker 3 (58:22):
I don't know that we have had in our whole time, Doing,
this like we just have not had a defensive tackle
who's Been a?
Speaker 4 (58:35):
Pro bowler?
Speaker 5 (58:37):
Have? We NOT that i?
Speaker 2 (58:40):
KNOW of, i mean you would know better, than ME but.
I don't there's nobody on, this list?
Speaker 4 (58:45):
Is, There no That's what.
Speaker 3 (58:46):
I'm saying that's why you're Talking About mason graham and
you're talking about, You Know, Mike hall like those are
young guys who have got.
Speaker 4 (58:53):
To, Go. Bigley, BIGLEY.
Speaker 2 (58:58):
Yeah I mean I got i got news, For YOU
like I MEAN i i don't. REMEMBER you, I Mean
gerard warren might be on.
Speaker 4 (59:08):
This List sean rodgers was a. Pro bowler was he
here on thousand? And eight then he's on.
Speaker 5 (59:16):
The list he makes.
Speaker 4 (59:18):
The, team yeah he's on. The List then i'm looking
through The Russ sean.
Speaker 3 (59:23):
Rodgers makes the, LIST probably i mean it's Probably Like,
Sean Rogers Dalvin sheldon Richardson And. Desmond Bryant doesn't bryant
had five and a half and then. Six Sacks Thatsn't,
Brian bobert rubin was, Pretty Good, big rube, Good Guy,
phil taylor.
Speaker 2 (59:41):
Good guy warren was pretty good in the. FOUR years
i mean his first four, years here he's. Pretty good
he had ten as, a rookie, five sacks ten tackles.
Speaker 4 (59:54):
For, LOSS.
Speaker 2 (59:59):
Yeah i mean five and a half sacks in. YEAR
three i mean it's hard time he started the.
Speaker 4 (01:00:07):
Whole way, to me.
Speaker 3 (01:00:08):
It's hard to, think though if somebody who was drafted
third overall doesn't even get a second contract with the
team that drafted him that they Make your all.
Speaker 4 (01:00:15):
Century team did he just get cut.
Speaker 5 (01:00:18):
Or was?
Speaker 2 (01:00:18):
He traded?
Speaker 4 (01:00:20):
Which guy are we? Talking About?
Speaker 2 (01:00:21):
Gerard warren like he played the first four years of his.
Career here did he get he was.
Speaker 3 (01:00:27):
He was traded From the browns To the broncos for
a two thousand and five fourth. Round, Pick okay so
it's just if that's where. WE'RE at i just feel
like that's a. Hard thing that's hard to be on
your all quarter, century, TEAM right i mean you're saying four,
years later.
Speaker 4 (01:00:48):
THAT'S it i wonder Why they why would you even make?
Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
That, trade yeah that's one of those ONES where i
think it you just maybe needed to be there because it.
He WAS but i don't know who knows what was
going on behind the scenes at.
Speaker 4 (01:01:01):
That time but do you remember that, At? ALL gibe.
I don't i don't remember. That trade, but again at,
that time you were going through coaches in front office
people every, other year and someone would come in and they,
WERE like i can remake, the roster.
Speaker 2 (01:01:18):
Yeah and get rid of it. And, all yeah now
we're playing three happening three four four three flip. Flip
flip he's not a, three four he's a three three four.
Defensive end he's not now he's.
Speaker 3 (01:01:29):
A nose and, IT'S like, i mean let's tell you
just another Problem is and, You Know danny shelton is
a Multiple Time super bowl champion and went on to,
you know stayed IN the nfl for quite. Some time
but when you, draft him, you know, twelfth overall that's
just not what in three years With the browns he
had one and a half sacks and eleven tackles. For
loss that's just not What you that's just not what.
(01:01:52):
It was that can't, mean yeah To, be no he
was traded with a twenty eighteen fifth round pick To
the patriots for twenty nineteen third. Round pick so they
traded him in a fifth rounder to get a third.
Speaker 4 (01:02:05):
Round, pick, like yeah they keep going back to. Big room.
Speaker 2 (01:02:10):
He played here a long, seven years one. HUNDRED games
I just i have it up, here. Too, Gibe yeah
like he had a five. Sax season tackles for the
loss are always. Pretty minimal he played a long TIME.
Speaker 4 (01:02:23):
For Us larry Oh obviously lario back to back five. Sex,
seasons yeah it's just it says.
Speaker 3 (01:02:30):
This is it's a little bit of ealedictorian summer. School
boy this is a rough room to be a quarter.
Century team it.
Speaker 5 (01:02:37):
Is.
Speaker 2 (01:02:37):
Rough Yeah One, Pro, bowl yeah in twenty five years at,
Defensive TACKLE.
Speaker 4 (01:02:43):
Like I think dalvin played. Pretty well let me look
at one thing.
Speaker 5 (01:02:48):
Real, quick, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
Man it's it's not Like the taylor played, four Years.
Speaker 4 (01:02:58):
Big phil but he was a first, round.
Speaker 3 (01:03:00):
Pick right think about how many first round picks in
that room haven't even finished out their first contract or.
Speaker 4 (01:03:06):
Come back i'll tell.
Speaker 3 (01:03:07):
You what the guy that was on the track and
then obviously it went well off The rip Malik McDowell
lake mcdowaland that one year which was his first year
in the league after being out of the league for how? Many,
years yeah, three sacks seven tackles for, a lost five.
Quarterback hits he was he had. A chance he was a.
Big boy but that was.
Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Another man, Oh man which one Was that.
Speaker 4 (01:03:27):
Milike mcdall Kid From.
Speaker 2 (01:03:28):
Michigan, state, god, yeah yeah he was the resurrection prospect
and he came in and was.
Speaker 3 (01:03:34):
Pretty good i'm pretty sure he played for us, in
yeah twenty. Twenty, one yeah that was the year. We
started his first game Was In, kansas city and that
was the game.
Speaker 5 (01:03:43):
That we.
Speaker 4 (01:03:45):
Had the, had them, had them.
Speaker 3 (01:03:47):
Had them chubb fumbled pretty Sure Like ronnie harre a
coach on, their team Like Hit ronnie harrison and he
hit him back and He Got ronnie harrison got.
Speaker 4 (01:03:55):
Thrown out.
Speaker 3 (01:03:55):
Nothing happened the op was the opener oper and can't
say home Lights out and then yeah we were. Smoking,
them yeah and that was. The fumble And then mahomes
had like a scramble right that he threw in front,
of me like sixty yards in the Air.
Speaker 4 (01:04:07):
To, hill, yeah yeah that was.
Speaker 3 (01:04:11):
Making doubt THIS is, i mean this is this.
Speaker 4 (01:04:14):
IS a i will say this what they don't Have In.
Pro bowls they more than made up. Foreign, Interviews, yeah tailor.
That's unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (01:04:23):
Great Human, Sheldon Richard.
Speaker 4 (01:04:25):
Sheldon richard do You Remember sheldon richardson's First interview we
got in the Gorgeous, orange Montclair The montclair orange twelve hundred.
Speaker 2 (01:04:33):
Dollars vests he, Looked GREAT like I. LOVE sheldon i.
Speaker 3 (01:04:35):
Think It's Like, Sean Rogers Dalvin, Sheldon Richardson, desmond Bryant
doesn't bryan the best pass rusher we had on.
Speaker 4 (01:04:40):
The inside the entire time we, were here, for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
Give it to big you want To, Go Sheldon, Dalvin, Sheldon, yeah,
rogers yep. Those three and then is it do We,
Do desmond Bryan Or? TABA rubin i think.
Speaker 3 (01:04:58):
It Does, wond Bryant doesn't briant sick set. Like doesn't
brian was he had.
Speaker 4 (01:05:03):
Some promise he was very good here on some Very bad.
Browns teams. He was he was a guy, that again
if you can, stay healthy.
Speaker 2 (01:05:14):
Here's a little a little exercise.
Speaker 5 (01:05:16):
For.
Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
You though remember we did this at the end of, the,
offense okay and we looked at our offense and, we,
said god we're pretty good kind of everywhere. Except one
and it just so happened to be the, most Important
right it was the. Only thing like our twenty five
Quarterbacks are Bake And. Derek anderson that's quarter. Century Team
and bake is much better now. For, sure yeah That's what, I'm,
(01:05:41):
saying like, THAT'S no. I, Know, yeah okay the second
most important position in football is. This one these guys
get paid the most receivers and. Defensive ends it's miles. And, Misses,
yep yeah it's.
Speaker 3 (01:05:56):
A lot it's.
Speaker 2 (01:05:59):
Rentals End, IT'S reynolds, I, Mean zadarius Jadevi. And olivier
all those guys came in last, you know one. Two
year we'd have them for a year and then a.
Defensive tackle IT'S just i mean it's. FIRST round I
mean phil, First rounder shelton, First rounder warren. First rounder,
OH yeah i mean it's massive assets that didn't deliver
(01:06:19):
at the positions quarterback and on the. Defensive line defensive
line is probably the most important position group other than
quarterback on. The, team yeah we've been and we don't.
Have it we haven't. Had it And if Miles, isn't miles, good,
lord no thank god you. Got him who were your?
Speaker 4 (01:06:36):
SIX wideouts i wasn't here, for THAT so i was.
Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
Look at, so, quarterbacks obviously we would be probably thirty
second out of thirty two in teams quarter century teams.
For sure running back were probably. Top, Eight, yes Chubb,
Jamal Lewis Peyton Hillis.
Speaker 4 (01:06:53):
Cream hunt that's really. Pretty good that's name.
Speaker 3 (01:06:56):
WIDE receiver i think we're like. Top ten your guide didn't.
Make it that ran for two Thirty Nine. Jome harrison
but it was an. Unbelievable stretch it's a.
Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
Great stretch summer saying it was.
Speaker 4 (01:07:08):
It was, guys like it's one of THE top i don't.
Speaker 3 (01:07:12):
Know if it's still, top five but we were looking
at you, missed this but at the five rushing game of.
Speaker 2 (01:07:16):
All time, he went he went through all, of IT and,
i said at the end, OF it, I said, I
go i have no recollection. Of that let me ask you.
A question was he on your fantasy team that you
ended up winning a? Champion with and, He, goes.
Speaker 3 (01:07:24):
Yep there's also a guy it had to be something
LIKE because i don't remember it. At all there's also
a Year There sean bryson played for Like. THE lions, i,
think yeah you get those guys have a.
Speaker 5 (01:07:33):
Little run.
Speaker 3 (01:07:35):
Our wide RECEIVER room i think is actually very were,
You Go josh, gordon, Yeah uh, Jarvis Okay braylan, Edwards Yep,
Josh cribs Amari And.
Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
JUDY yeah i mean that's. Really good it's a.
Speaker 5 (01:07:50):
Great room.
Speaker 2 (01:07:51):
Some, dudes yeah that's like a it's a. Legit room
like that's a tops. Of, team yeah, for sure.
Speaker 4 (01:07:56):
For sure top half of. The league room of the,
cour entry there's.
Speaker 3 (01:07:58):
No question and your offensive line is. Top five your
tight ends. ARE solid, i mean you Got three pro
bowlers and a joke Who Barnetge. Jordan, cameron yeah your offensive,
Your Tackle, Joe, Thomas Conklin, Mitchell Schwartz, Botonio teller, Alex
mack Tretdor, Greco, zeitler DeLand.
Speaker 2 (01:08:13):
That might be. Number one IT'S either Us or Philly
Or Dallas Philly.
Speaker 4 (01:08:16):
Duve baltimore's ball got a pretty.
Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
Good one we're top five for sure on the offensive
line last.
Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
Five, years, yes yeah and then defensive End is miles
and you know then some solid serviceable but that's not
going to be and the defensive tackle might BE that
i might be.
Speaker 2 (01:08:29):
Thirty, TWO oh i don't think there's. Any question it's
thirty two, at DTACKLE and I think miles is the
only thing that saves the other group from being.
Speaker 3 (01:08:36):
Thirty, two well everybody else that's on There ball sheard
is the only other one that was. Drafted here everybody
else was like a end towards the end of, Their,
career yeah past their.
Speaker 2 (01:08:45):
Prime rental you have to if you hit on quarterbacks
And defensive that's Why in houston they did cartwheels because
they think they landed their quarterback in defensive end and the.
Speaker 3 (01:08:53):
Same draft now the jury's Out on stroud fell out
of the top ten in the.
Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
Executive, ranking shocking ALTHOUGH yeah i did. See those somebody
had a. GOOD point i think It was palazolo had
a good Point on Stafford because stafford's really high. On
that like the Executives, love stafford but LIKE the pff
people always have him. Much lower, BUT yeah i mean so,
this anyway so like if you want, to know like
what how why the success hasn't? Been there you didn't draft,
(01:09:20):
quarterbacks well and you didn't draft defensive, line well with
the Exception of. Miles correct when you don't, those things
that's that's how, you get, you know in. Those spots
so we'll do. The linebackers. Linebackers, Tomorrow, linebackers.
Speaker 3 (01:09:35):
Yes and that's a room that's going To be you're
going to have some very, solid players but that's not
going to be a top in the.
Speaker 2 (01:09:43):
League, Room, no no your, corner rooms cornrooms. Really good
it's gonna be very. Very good we'll go around the.
Sports world coming up next to Listen To Cleveland browns

Speaker 1 (01:10:05):
Cleveland, browns daily Presented By, bally bett an official sports

Speaker 2 (01:10:34):
The card trucker motorcycle acts that caused? You Injury Called
andrew lawyers at one eight Hundred elk ohio for free.
Case Review, el canouns proud partner Of Your. Cleveland browns
as we go around the, SPORTS world i have to
tell you what the commanders did last week with the
uniforms and the reaction that. It received that's how you.
(01:10:54):
Do it that's how you. Do it like they can't
go back to. THAT name i think any rational person
understand the name part. OF it i do think that
the chief logo is something that they could revisit down.
THE road I Know native american folks. LOVE that i
know the guy who, did it who, Designed it montana
and his family wants to have, it back AND so
(01:11:15):
i think there's a path. For that but in, the
meantime that uniform and the idea that it Sucks because
i'm going to wear it like, three times wear.
Speaker 4 (01:11:26):
It always that's.
Speaker 2 (01:11:27):
The uniform just wear that and the white version, of
that and that's all. You need get rid of the rest.
Speaker 5 (01:11:31):
Of, it.
Speaker 4 (01:11:34):
Yeah get rid.
Speaker 5 (01:11:35):
Of it just. Wear it.
Speaker 4 (01:11:35):
They're beautiful.
Speaker 3 (01:11:36):
That's great by, the way it kind of, feels like
as crazy as, it sounds that like in, the eighties
most teams have their uniforms. Figured out it's not. Just
nostalgia they just they.
Speaker 4 (01:11:48):
WERE better i.
Speaker 2 (01:11:50):
Think SO and i don't know if that's and they're.
More unique THAT'S what. I think my theory. ON it
i don't know if YOU and i have discussed this,
or not but my theory on it was in those
days it was to the individual team to do their
own merch and their own uniform design because you'd have
a bunch of. Different providers and since it's been STREAMLINED
and i know this for a FACT because i know
(01:12:10):
this from laurentiis with the rams that you, go to
like Now. It's nike before that It was Reebach or
adidas or whoever, it was and, they say these are your.
Navy blue this is the navy blue you have, to,
use right this is The pan so there can't be
a lot they. Don't want the suppliers don't want a
whole bunch of variation in color because then they have
(01:12:31):
to make all of. Those variations so what they want
is one. Navy blue so if you're navy blue and
You're the rams and you were gonna wear the same
navy blue As, the giants and the you're, royal Blue
that giants royal blue is going to be the same
As the giants, royal blue and so forth and. So
on and that's my hunch as to how we got
to this point where everything kind of looks, the same
and anytime we see anything from the eighties, pop up
(01:12:53):
it's like a color explosion because it's all these shades
we don't. Normally, see well this is.
Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
Really cool so This Is gridiron dash uniforms dot COM
and i just put in nineteen. Eighty nine this is
what who wore what? Nineteen nine this is Week. Three
falcons they do wear something similar, to this but perfect
coltsures should still be in. THAT bills i actually don't
Mind The jim kellys.
Speaker 4 (01:13:14):
That era.
Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
THEY'RE fine i think these.
Speaker 3 (01:13:15):
ARE better i think these are better that this is?
What good yeah with the white helmet.
Speaker 5 (01:13:18):
Is better.
Speaker 4 (01:13:19):
Yeah Yeah Oilers elite bears are still.
Speaker 3 (01:13:22):
The same lions are kind of back too close to what,
They were Steelers and vikings are still. Pretty Similar the
saints you Got the bucks in the. Cream sickle you
Got the giants in their, throwback now the throwback that
is their, best, Uniform right and the color of the
helmet is different than the it's.
Speaker 2 (01:13:41):
A right blue of.
Speaker 4 (01:13:42):
The jursey it's A great.
Speaker 3 (01:13:45):
These were Actually Good arizona cardinals uniforms where you had
the steak flag on.
Speaker 2 (01:13:48):
THE should i wondered if they would bring. THAT back
i was they call Them the tilman's.
Speaker 5 (01:13:52):
Out.
Speaker 2 (01:13:52):
There, YEP yeah i wondered if maybe they would bring,
those back but.
Speaker 3 (01:13:55):
They Didn't, all right we all Agree the seahawks uniforms
were Better than patriots uniforms were Better. Then, Niners Yes Kelly,
green eagles you had the commanders in what they're, recreating
now but obviously they Were. The Redskins Then dallas cowboys are,
The same packers are.
Speaker 5 (01:14:08):
The.
Speaker 3 (01:14:08):
SAME rams i Like that, rams UNIFORM but i also
like their, new ONES so i don't think that's like.
Speaker 4 (01:14:13):
A downgrade the new.
Speaker 2 (01:14:14):
One is it's just kind of a modern version. Of
that it's not, too, DIFFERENT right, i mean the one
that's like the bone or whatever, Is ridiculous but the
one that's, the, TRUE yeah i mean that that's kind.
Speaker 4 (01:14:27):
Of it chiefs are basically.
Speaker 3 (01:14:28):
The Same the chargers are much better in the powder
blues and the light helmet.
Speaker 4 (01:14:33):
Than that Navy era raiders are.
Speaker 3 (01:14:35):
The same broncos are getting back, to these not, full
time but those. Are perfect this is the orange with
that beautiful.
Speaker 4 (01:14:41):
Blue.
Speaker 3 (01:14:42):
Helmet yep jets is One where i'd say. They've UPGRADED
actually i don't know, about now but when, they do
Like the. Pennington, era yeah those are their, best units
the best Uniform. THE dolphins i, Like this dolphins, way better.
Speaker 2 (01:14:55):
Way, Better Yep and dolphins folks want. This, one yes
they want this back compared to What.
Speaker 3 (01:14:59):
They're browns are, more back and Then the bengals aren't
quite all the way back those but those. Are Great
those boom they're very simple, black jersey white pants with the,
orange stripe.
Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
Little, helmet yeah kind of Like. The rams kind of
a modern version, of, it right but. Pretty SIMILAR but.
Speaker 3 (01:15:17):
I mean this is a pretty if this was if
these were, the uniforms you'd be very happy.
Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
With, it yeah and it's a it Is a the
diversity in color is what. Jumps out, oh yeah different
shades of all, Of it like our orange is different in,
those days our orange was different Than the bengals orange.
Speaker 3 (01:15:34):
For sure you can see it on here and, There day.
Speaker 2 (01:15:36):
Like we were a much more, softer orange.
Speaker 3 (01:15:38):
Much softer so You have, bengals orange which is kind
of a dark. Orangey orange you had the creamsickle orange Of,
the bucks and then you had. Our orange and even
in the, red World the niners red was different Than the,
falcons red which was different Than the, redskins red which
was different Than the.
Speaker 4 (01:15:53):
Chief's red you had four.
Speaker 3 (01:15:55):
Different, reds yeah blues you had as dark as the
a little bit lighter navy Was. The chargers you had
a royalish blue With. The rams you had the beautiful
kind of uppity blue With. The seahawks you had the
baby blue With. The Oilers the lions had. Their blue
somewhere in between the dark and the uppy blue Was.
Speaker 4 (01:16:14):
The, BILLS yeah i, mean yeah and then You had.
Cowboys blue You.
Speaker 2 (01:16:17):
Had colts cowboys got. Three blues so the only ones
you've been able to keep it the same in terms
of having all those are just those are just, a. Variety. Man,
yeah yeah they, it crushed it crushed at, that time
and so when, a team, it's amazing like all they
did was go back to what they used, to wear
and it just HAS a w on it and. That's
it other, than that it's the same and the fans
(01:16:38):
go nuts when when, THAT dropped i mean It was
it's kind of everything that. You'd. Want Yep The arizona
cardinals are offering fans a chance to fly on the
team plane to their week eleven Matchup in dallas Against.
The cowboys package to begin at twenty five, hundred bucks, includes,
airfare hotel, game tickets. And more, to me this feels
like it's just as we continue to evolve in terms
(01:16:59):
of what the. FAN wants i think you just have
to be more and more creative to appease if you
are in, this business because we're all just in the.
Entertainment business you go to the f, one movie you
go To a, browns game you Go to, guardians, game
calves what are you? Going to it's all just, Entertainment,
dollar yeah and you just got to make sure you're
on the cutting edge of it at.
Speaker 4 (01:17:18):
All times by, the way that sounds really reasonable.
Speaker 2 (01:17:21):
To, me, YEAH well i mean. It, depends yeah twenty five.
HUNDRED dollars i Mean It's phoenix, dallas direct so that's a.
Speaker 3 (01:17:32):
Airfare is expensive and it's. A, pain correct you. GOT
it i wonder if This is charter.
Speaker 4 (01:17:40):
Says they get a chance to fly on the, team plane.
Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
Like with, the team that's the. Team, plane yeah but
we sometimes. Take two like you think you're gonna have
just fans on there with.
Speaker 5 (01:17:52):
The.
Speaker 2 (01:17:52):
Team, yeah oh then that's a hell of. A.
Speaker 5 (01:17:55):
Deal.
Speaker 2 (01:17:57):
Yeah YEAH if i assume if you're saying with the
team hotel and you have, game tickets then that's a.
Speaker 3 (01:18:01):
Great, deal yes. There's not you can't have that many. Of, them, No,
no no probably be like.
Speaker 4 (01:18:07):
One rose, Maybe, six yeah and they'd be in the back,
or like yeah. We.
Speaker 2 (01:18:11):
Are, yeah yeah that's pretty, cool though if you.
Speaker 3 (01:18:15):
Could, do that that might be. WORTH it i don't
know sense packages. Begin at so they're saying that basically
that's only going to be based on how good your
tickets are.
Speaker 2 (01:18:24):
Or demand And then i'd like to know how many
people are well how many of the other? Thing, up
yeah on that side. Of it chargers Running Back najay
harris sustained a superficial eye injury during the Fourth of.
July fireworks mishappy expected to be ready for the start
of the. Upcoming season we got Out of Fourth of july.
RELATIVELY unscathed i will, say this we didn't we didn't

the fourth man does it it felt? Like, substantial, yeah
yeah it's a.
Speaker 4 (01:20:02):
GOOD job i. THINK that i think you need. To
observe it wouldn't be the. Worst thing we do some
crazy things in the world, right now we allow for some.
CRAZY things i think this could slide in there and be.
Speaker 2 (01:20:12):
Just fine would it be also would it be smart
To Take memorial Day And labor day and move Them?
Speaker 4 (01:20:17):
To, friday yeah all they should Be on friday instead Of.
It monday, Absolutely, Right yes i'm fine with that Might
make i'm good with At Least. Memorial day that might
be extensive To itul i'll Just be Friday. And monday.
Speaker 2 (01:20:32):
Now we're. Really talking now We're, Talking yeah fortay weekends
on all.
Speaker 3 (01:20:36):
OF them i just, say this we have, like you
we have in. Our neighborhood there's an H. O. A
yeah people came into our neighborhood from outside of our
neighborhood and at around eleven o'clock on the fourth did
a fireworks show that was very loud and actually and
(01:20:57):
then they left all their trash out.
Speaker 2 (01:20:59):
There everywhere JUST so i fully understand someone who does
not live in. Your neighborhood, that's.
Speaker 3 (01:21:03):
Right came into your neighbor right down to, the bottom
went a little the right where there's that little, turn
around and did a twenty minute show that sounded like.
Speaker 4 (01:21:15):
Bombs were.
Speaker 3 (01:21:15):
Going off luca's crying was, Furiously.
Speaker 2 (01:21:21):
Like, we're like who?
Speaker 4 (01:21:22):
Are you what are you?
Speaker 3 (01:21:24):
Doing there you didn't know a lot of people, out
there nobody. Was right it was eleven thirty, at night eleven,
fucking night and then nobody went. Out there and then
it's been found out now that it was not people from,
our neighborhood and now the hoa's all send all these
emails and this will never. Happen again and but, it's
like it's. Very funny but at the same time it,
was funny was Waking? Up, luca no that was. Not
(01:21:47):
funny that was. Not FUNNY oh i can't how how do?
Speaker 4 (01:21:52):
You? Leave?
Speaker 5 (01:21:53):
There was?
Speaker 3 (01:21:54):
It was it was not a, great situation that is what.
It was it was not a. Great situation and it
wasn't like launched fireworks that were like the. Pretty ones
it was like the ones that, are boom Like, eighties
yeah just.
Speaker 4 (01:22:05):
Like, PERFECT yeah i got a guy that lives three
doors down for.
Speaker 2 (01:22:07):
Me boomers boomers.
Speaker 4 (01:22:09):
Think He's in vietnam at. Eight, am boom shake. The,
house great, it's, perfect wonderful THAT'S what.
Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
I say i also think that we should also have
like a window where you can do. The, fireworks yeah
and then it's done.
Speaker 4 (01:22:23):
Well technically in a state of how.
Speaker 2 (01:22:25):
There, is okay but it's. Not enforced it.
Speaker 4 (01:22:28):
Is not here's.
Speaker 2 (01:22:28):
An idea enforce that the way you enforce the speeds
on seventy, one perfect take half of that enforcement and
enforce that agreed because you don't need it for a.
Week straight no.
Speaker 4 (01:22:41):
Give up it's a solid seventy two hours.
Speaker 2 (01:22:46):
Picket man whatever the, number is, two nights you can
do it for, two, nights fine.
Speaker 4 (01:22:51):
Four like, the, third fourth. AND fifth i think it's
got to be done before.
Speaker 3 (01:22:55):
Ten pm that's an old man TALKING about i have
a new born bait, LIKE eleven.
Speaker 2 (01:23:00):
I think i think totally wrapped by eleven eleven is,
fair fine, totally wrapped and by, the way it is
because it's got to get burn air.
Speaker 4 (01:23:08):
For dogs my dogs. Hate it my dogs and.
Speaker 3 (01:23:12):
Nothing okay as would do was Hiding under bryce's, bed
upstairs under.
Speaker 2 (01:23:19):
The bed she's so FEROCIOUS under.
Speaker 4 (01:23:21):
I mean we we we were not, in town but
we we. Literally are our dog watcher had to take
the dogs out by like eight o'clock at night because
if there's, one boom the One just i'll hold it for.
Sixteen hours i'm not going.
Speaker 2 (01:23:38):
Out, there, Sorry, dad.
Speaker 4 (01:23:40):
Yeah it's just. Not happening like you got to get
him out Before the.
Speaker 2 (01:23:43):
Shenanigans, START yeah I think i, think, third, fourth fifth
anything other. Than that arrested former lines Defensive tackling dominicansu
announced his retirement FROM. The nfl thirty eight year old
played thirteen seasons for. FIVE teams i had him him
at the top Of my heisman ballad his last Year.
In nebraska that's HOW old, i am and how long
(01:24:06):
he played in. The league that's a, long. Time man
he was one of the best college football players ever
and had some incredible moments in the, League too but
was one of the best college football most dominant college
Football players i've.
Speaker 4 (01:24:18):
Ever seen so did you see like he basically retired
on the day of his like the first anniversary of his.
FATHER'S passing, I, BELIEVE okay i. Didn't know and it
was a promise that he had made to. His dad
that he would walk away while he was of sound mind, And.
BODY like i don't know everything, about it but it
(01:24:41):
was it was, pretty deep like hit the message that
he wrote. And everything because for the LONGEST time i
Thought in Dominic and sue had a couple of. SCREWS
loose i just didn't think he was a. Good, human
yeah but he's a darn good.
Speaker 5 (01:24:53):
Football. Player.
Speaker 2 (01:24:54):
Yeah yeah his his two thousand and nine At. At
nebraska he IS Obviously Anamasul american Big Twelve defensive lineman Of,
The year Big Twelve defensive player Of, THE Year Ap
College football player Of, The Year Bill, Willis Trophy Chuck,
Bidnarik Award Bronco Negirsky. Lombardi outland he won all. Of
them he won the defensive player in all. Of him
he's the number two pick in. The draft he was
(01:25:14):
a three time First Team all pro and a two
time Second Team, All Pro Super, BOWL Champion Nfl defensive
rookie Of. The year, massive career, just, massive Yes, Stud

Speaker 4 (01:26:16):
What WHAT do i Think?
Speaker 5 (01:26:17):
Of?
Speaker 4 (01:26:17):
WIMBLEDON yeah i like.
Speaker 2 (01:26:19):
It fine HERE'S why. I ask i'm right in the
middle of a big moment across. The pond they do
this every year They go wimbledon Into The. Open championship
one bleeds into. The next it's this on. The calendar,
it's like EVERY time i see, the weather it seems
like it's. Pretty Good, at wimbledon everything seems, pretty great
and it's kind of this window and it's one of
(01:26:39):
those things that's largely. REMAINED unchanged, i mean they played
on the same, grass courts everybody. Wears white the sports,
changed tremendously but it's no doubt it's and it's very
similar to Watching The. Open championship wimbledon's my favorite of
the tennis majors, to watch and it's a lot Like
the OPEN because i think it's it's largely looks the
same as it LOOKED when i was, A.
Speaker 3 (01:26:59):
KID so i HAVEN'T been i didn't watch a lot,
OF it. I was i haven't been engrossed In a
wimbledon final since nineteen, Ninety.
Speaker 2 (01:27:07):
Two San frs legacy or Is.
Speaker 4 (01:27:10):
That Agasy And?
Speaker 3 (01:27:11):
GORON ivanissovitch, i remember AND then i went to the fair.
That day we watched that until, it ended and then
went to the fair at me and a couple.
Speaker 4 (01:27:21):
Of friends WHICH was?
Speaker 2 (01:27:24):
I watched, i watched, of course it was fairs were.
Always went at. That point there Was a federan a
DOLL one. I watched it was a five SETTER that
I think federer won in my HEAD that i watched
all of when they were both kind of at.
Speaker 4 (01:27:35):
Their piece this was a.
Speaker 3 (01:27:35):
Five setter Even if vichach, won seven six and, a
TIEBREAK then i agus went, six four, six four even
if He ivan yssovich came back six, to one And
then agasy won in the, fifth set.
Speaker 2 (01:27:46):
SIX fourth i do remember. THAT one I, remember agacy
how big of, a deal.
Speaker 3 (01:27:49):
And Even The esitch croatian Obviously, plus AGASY so i
liked both. Of them he had a bunch of aces thirty.
Speaker 2 (01:27:55):
Monster serve a.
Speaker 4 (01:27:56):
Monster, serf, yeah yeah that was that.
Speaker 3 (01:27:58):
Was one i'm pumped For The, Open championship like that's
my favorite golf urum of the year.
Speaker 2 (01:28:03):
For, sure yeah it's right there With the masters.
Speaker 3 (01:28:06):
FOR me i also Feel like wimbledon's going on for
like a month he.
Speaker 2 (01:28:09):

Speaker 4 (01:28:14):
Two weeks He plays thomas, so well he's big.
Speaker 2 (01:28:17):
Into day is it? His Favorite is wimbledon? His favorite, oh, yeah,
YEAH yeah i mean there's something to it like.
Speaker 3 (01:28:24):
It would BE if i, to me it feels like,
the biggest Like the australian AND The us open and
then Roll. On garros yeah that's cool because it's, on
clay so. It's different but not to me that feels Like,
the yeah that feels like the big.
Speaker 5 (01:28:38):
For.
Speaker 2 (01:28:38):
Sure, wimbledon YEAH and I love i mean WE we
i think all of us Love. THE open i wonder
if IT'S something i think IS also i wonder if
it's a little bit like what we do and that
like you can just get up and. IT'S on i
love that love that love just getting up and it's.
Speaker 4 (01:28:52):
It's meaningful it's not the back end, of no it's

yeah the open.
Speaker 4 (01:29:15):
While he while he's, LOOKING up i do want to
shout out two people that we were down In cant
kun for a couple. Of days, OF course i walk

great his family. Was awesome they were very very. Nice
people they were aweso to. Hang with and that's you.
Speaker 3 (01:29:57):

the last time it was here was. Twenty Nineteen. Shane,
lowry okay is this.
Speaker 2 (01:30:06):
The one where there's This is this was the one
that it, Was like rory better win, because yes It's. In,
ireland yeah he's, very familiar so he's very familiar with.
Speaker 5 (01:30:14):

cooperate because like, you said The weather la always looks
good except for the week Of, the open.
Speaker 2 (01:30:45):
