Here are your hosts, Bo Bishop and Nathan Zigura.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Let's do live on a Thursday edition of the Progra
at Merely Bow at the cross Country Mortgage Campus and
in Gibe's palatial suite at what I'm assuming is a
four seasons hotel in Philly. We are joined by Andrew Siciliana,
who joins us on the other end. Z will join shortly.
How you living, buddy, Oh, we're living.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
We are here in Casa de Gibbet. Nathan's across the hall.
I think he lost his key again. He's doing some
business and he will be back here shortly after another
hot and humid It just beautiful day, bo, here in
Philadelphia where it is always sunny and always humid.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
How are you?

Speaker 2 (01:26):
More importantly, did you what was your due point? And
when did you reach it? This morning in Philly.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
I'll be honest with you, it wasn't as bad as yesterday.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Today was bad don't get me wrong, but yesterday, by
the end of practice, and everybody was talking about it
last night.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
This morning, by the end.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Of practice, there was heat emanating up off the field
into your soul, almost like you were walking across hot
coals on a beach, not that I've ever done that,
or or you know, like you were standing on a
hot plate.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
The heat was coming up through your soul.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
I'm glad you guys got a little bit of a
reprieve today. This was a massive practice. Massive We got
the news before you know, Kevin having and we'll play
some of this for you guys in a little bit
in terms of what happened with Shador and where all
of that stands. But this is a massive week for
our quarterback competition, although we think there isn't probably much
of a competition left at this point, but it's been
a massive It's gonna be a massive two days for

(02:21):
Dylan Gabriell as well in the entire roster. Let's just
do big picture first, Sure, how did today stack up
compared to yesterday for your Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Brat's offense was better today than it was yesterday. I
think everybody agrees. Joe Flacco look sharp. Dylan Gabriel had
a touchdown end of the practice to Harold fannin that
was very, very nice. And by the way, can we
just step back for a second, Harold Fannen was your
star of the day.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Even the Eagles writers are talking about it.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
He beat Andrew mccooba at the Texas safety at one point,
so two draft picks, you know, same class, right near
each other for a touchdown. Harold Fannon is the real deal, friends,
And I'm not saying you have to go draft of
a fantasy, but even Joe Batonio talked about it after practice,
like this guy is willing to put his face in
the fan and take on a middle linebacker. He as
a rookie tight end. It's about being willing to block.

(03:09):
He has already shown he is beyond willing to block.
He's now proving he could be a pretty good blocker.
And he's more than just that queen on the chess
board where you can move him everywhere, like we've seen
him line up as an up back like Keege playf
he could play h he could play why, he could
play wherever. He was also in the middle, and you
can go to Twitter for details. Right, it's not going

(03:31):
to be on film. No one's filming. But he was
in the middle of two trick plays today, the key
part in two trick plays today. So he is all
over the field and he is playing very well. So
he's the start the.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Swiss Army knife, right, I means Swiss Army knife versatility.
And we talked about this a lot through the offseason.
I know you've been Kedaan on this too, Like it
was a little bit of surprise to go back to
the draft that you didn't draft a wide receiver, a
little bit of surprise, but really, the way the league
is kind of viewing, whether it be tight end or
receiver or running back, it's weapons. Do you have weapons?
And what you drafted with Fannin was a weapon.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
I'm thinking I'm thinking of Nathan pre draft weapons, weapons,
webs weapons, I'm sorry, that's all we talked about.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
That's all we wanted.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
More weapons.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
We got one that is Harold Fannin, truly, and he
had a really good day.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
And here's the most important thing I think about his
day is that maybe the second play from scrimmage to
start the day, Jill Flacco through a laser. He's Fannin's
lined up. I don't know if he was standing up
or he had his handout, but he was lined up
to the right, ran up the same little in cut
maybe skinny post if you want to call it that,

(04:44):
and Flacco put it on him on the goal line
and Fannin didn't catch it.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
Now, I spoke to Harold afterwards.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
He said that the dB maybe a second window, a
second level defender might have got a hand on it,
but look, he should have caught it.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
He knows that.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
But after that and picked it up like not the Hey,
I'm a rookie, I'm gonna go hang my head after
I dropped a touchdown on the opening play or the
second play. He had a great practice thought. Both quarterbacks
look good. Really, it was only Flacco and Gabriel taking
any real snaps. It should be noted that Shador was
in uniform and he was out there.

Speaker 5 (05:20):
Now.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
He wasn't doing anything, but he wasn't just back of
the hotel getting treatment. The idea that he dressed out
I think is somewhat encouraging, although I am not a doctor.
Kevin said before and I'm sure we'll play it later
that they're gonna put him down for a couple of days.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
Maybe not the best choice of words, but you.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Know, no, but growing up I'm thinking like, yeah, my
dad put a lot of animals down and they didn't
come back.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Well, I mean, Twitter loved Twitter reacted to the quote appropriately.
Of course, he's he's gonna sit out a couple of days.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
Day by day. We we will see day to day.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
And Kevin was pushed like, hey, are you sure should
or are you absolutely ruling him out? And he laughed
and he goes, you know what, pr I think he
was the right term. We'll go with unlikely for Saturday.
But he also be the point Flacco will not play,
So this is not going to be a well if
you're only down potentially to snoop, does that mean you

(06:14):
have to dress Flaco? Flaco ant playing? And we will see.
We'll see about Dylan Gabriel, he looked, he looked fine today.
It's not my hamstring, he says, he's getting better. And
like we said yesterday, it's all about how you feel
when you go back to the hotel. It's all about
really how you feel when you wake up tomorrow morning.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Yeah, I think with Gabriel, I cannot imagine like internally,
how much he's he wants to play right because he
was drafted ahead. All of the dialogue is around Shadeur.
You saw that massive audience last Friday. I mean, Shaudur
is a celebrity, he's known. It's an easy point. It's
an easy point of entry for any sports conversation because

(06:53):
you don't have to explain who he is to non
football fans. Everybody knows who he is, so it's easy
to do that. I cannot imagine how much Dylan wants
to play and how much he's pressing.

Speaker 6 (07:03):
To play, and I hope that he does. The team
he needs to play too. In the order of machine
you need to see him play. He was the ninety
fourth overall pick. Let's see him play. Absolutely, Shudor got
his shot and Dylan gets his. You know, I was
thinking more about the Shoudor thing last night, and coming
in we heard South Palatonio as a guest on on

(07:24):
on eight to fifty saying that you know he has
the perfect, perfect mix Shoudor does of celebrity and good
football and all this. When I was at NFL Network,
I used to used to be a running joke where
I thought a lot of my colleagues and listen, I've
said this to them.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
This is not taking shots. I think overall in the business,
we usually we over use the word star. Like you'll
turn on Sports Center and go bad news in Texas
where a star quarterback c J.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
Stroud is that, you don't call him a star? What
a start? It means famous, doesn't mean you're good in.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
Football, like I'd rather hear Pro Bowl quarterback c J.
Stroud is out. The news is bad regardless. But you're
talking to a sports on Yeah, they know, like Pro
Bowl means something to them.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
Star. What does that mean?

Speaker 3 (08:04):
It's like something TMZ would use, right, Yeah, very often
for a player that isn't a star.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
By the way, Shador is a star. That's that's different,
Like he.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
Has a star quality to him, a celebrity quality to him,
and that changes this discourse. Normally, when we say star
just means famous. And a lot of football players, because
they wear helmets, are famous in the football world, but
they walk down the street, They're not going to get recognized,
right but.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
This guy does.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Yeah, yeah, I mean he does. And so then in
the middle of all of this is Dylan who this
hamstring injury crops up a couple of weeks ago, and
you were hoping you'd get to see him last week
in Charlotte, and then the opportunity was there for Shador
and he took full advantage of it. And so I
just hope that the opportunity is there for Gabriely on Saturday,
because I think he needs it. I think the team

(08:53):
needs to see it, and I think that quite honestly,
it'd be good for the fans to kind of see
how it looks like when he's running this off. It's
the way that he wants and honestly, and this is
no disrespect to Snoop Huntley, who appreciate I'm glad he's here,
But at the same time, like I've seen him play,
we all have, the team has, everybody knows what he
can do. So in a way, if Gabriel doesn't play,

(09:16):
then what do you get out of the game?

Speaker 4 (09:18):
Correct?

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Yeah, one hundred percent, Yes, I agree with you. Kevin
loves Snoop, The team loves Snoop. There's a reason Snoop
Huntley was the solo captain last Friday night. That was
almost like a thank you for getting off your couch
and coming here and kind of bailing us out in
a bind. But yeah, having Snoop play a game, while

(09:39):
it would be a great moment, you need to see
the two rookie quarterbacks and hopefully you can't see Dylan Gabriel.
I do think Gabriel really ended this practice on a
good note. The ball to fannin beautiful touch on that
hit fannin just as he was crossing the goal line.
That was a good ball and he would have had
another touchdown to Deontay Johnson him in the hands on

(10:00):
the goal line. Johnson bobbled it and it got picked. Also,
didn't see a lot of Deontay Johnson out there. Caden
Davis actually had some reps with the ones in the
red zone early with Joe Flacco, so maybe something to
monitor there. But yeah, Gabriel could have had two touchdowns
to end the session. Should have had two sons Dann

(10:20):
the session.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
And that's a massive improvement from yesterday, right because yesterday
it was very rough. So our offense responded a little
bit in general, How did they go about their business
offensively as see this yesterday? I think you had already
ducked out. But I skedee yesterday, like what do you
anticipate this looking offensively at our best because so much
of it was built on Quinnchohn Judkins in the Power

(10:42):
Run Game. What does it look like when you don't
have that hammer back there?

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Well, look, it's it's different here. I think it was
really good for them to get here, to go against
a three to four front, a different front than they're
practicing against every day back in Bria, and you saw
a little more movement I think today in the Run game,
Jerome Ford had a touchdown in the low red zone.
Amani Marshall had what could have been a touchdown as well.

(11:08):
He's been playing well. You saw him run well and
blockwell on shuore second touchdown last Friday night in Carolina.
It's hard to get a real read when you are
not tackling, but the offense looked a lot more crisp
even though, but they did not start that well. Like
I mentioned the fan in drop, maybe two or three

(11:29):
plays later, Brendan Bates the tight end had to drop
as well a ball that Gabriel through to him. So
there are a couple of drops there for Gabriel, one
early and one late. But after those two drops, it's
like they flipped a switch because drops were something Kevin
talked about on the podium before the game or before
the practice yesterday. Drops were a major issue and the

(11:49):
two drops out of the gate did not bode well.
But then from that point they they turned it on
and defensively, Miles could have had eight sacks honestly.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
So yeah, you always think about the two lines of scrimmage.
How does our offensive line hold up against that defensive line?
And then can that offensive line no Landon Dickerson with them,
Although I'll get to him bringing some beer after practice.
I thought it was just classic. But how did our
defensive line, which is Reek taboc for US Reek tabbock
in Carolina? Did that continue again today in Philly?

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Yes, in a big, big way. And not just the ones,
but the twos and the threes. Isaiah Maguire had did
I stay when he worked with the ones and when
he worked with the twos? Thought Mason Graham got in
the backfield he would have had at least one sack.
There was one sequence late in practice where I think
Miles might have had sacks on consecutive plays, although they
didn't give him the second one. They let the play

(12:41):
go and on the next step. He just kind of
had his hands out because the Eagles ran to the line,
clocked it, then got a playoff, and Miles is just
kind of like going, come on, did I not get
a sack on that?

Speaker 4 (12:50):
Why are we down here?

Speaker 3 (12:51):
And Jalen hurts through a fade to the back corner
that denzel Ward went up and one handed it and
took it. He didn't pick it, but he knocked it
down battling with Devontae Smith. Denzel Ward was one of
the top two three players on the field through both
days of practice, and what you saw yesterday, his work
against Devontae Smith continued today. He had two lockdown days

(13:17):
and everybody saw it. He looked absolutely fantastic.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
Yeah, and those guys all need to because that's the
way this thing is going to be built. But that
is amazing to hear that this defense has traveled now
because we saw what it does against us in practice,
and we knew what it was going to do in Carolina.
But this is the defending Super Bowl champions and for
them to have that type of impact is I think
very very noteworthy for this team. Did you come out
of these two practices feeling that your read on this

(13:48):
team was accurate or did this team make you feel
better or worse based on how you feel about this team.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
I was riding high on the defense before I got here,
going against a very deep Philadelphia team. Now, AJ Brown
was not out there either day, but DeVante Smith was
and sae Quon was. They kept everything in front of
him and they got after the quarterback. Yes, I feel
good about the defense, Lile. Corner depth is still an issue.
I think it should be noted that Dom Jones, thirty

(14:16):
seven undrafted rookie who got in and made some plays
in the fourth quarter a week ago, was running with
the two's a little bit yesterday. He also had a
corner of the end zone PBu late in practice actually
looked just like the Denzel play where he went up
and kind of knocked it down with one arm. He
is a name I think to keep an eye on
in the secondary. But I also think, and look, it

(14:38):
is my two big concerns or where's your wide out
depth and where's your corner depth? With MJ's injury, I
think I don't know for a fact, but I would
assume that they would certainly keep an eye around the
league at cutdown day for people to shake free from
other rosters that like at both.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
Of those positions.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Yeah, I mean the MJ thing is just it's just
it's brutal. You know, it happens, and you're out there
when it happens, you don't even really but and then
you're on to the next day, right, But the realities
it starts to set in that that he was such
a big part of what you were going to do
defensively and kind of everything that went with it. The
other big development, we're going to play his press conference

(15:18):
a little bit later, but this is now week four
of Kenny Pickett being limited. We've talked about this all week,
but as he said last week, it's getting late early here,
and in a big, big way. He did not participate
in eleven on eleven again, and we'll play the as
I mentioned, we'll play the press conference for you, but
obviously frustration for him. Are we getting to a point

(15:40):
where it's kind of becoming abundantly clear Joe Flaccos, you're
starting quarterback. As we've talked about all week, it feels
like that's where we're at. And then for Dylan Gabriel,
it becomes can he show enough this weekend and beginning
of next week to prove that he's the two.

Speaker 3 (15:56):
I think to answer your question, yes, we are all
but there with Leo. I think it's a fata barring
something highly unforeseen and unfortunate, that he would be the
guy week one against Cincinnati.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
It is a good question.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Can Pickett get healthy enough or can Gabriel do enough,
assuming he's able to go Saturday, to be the number two.
My gut tells me that where are we today? What
is today's day?

Speaker 2 (16:23):
The fourteenth, August fourteenth, Buddy, Okay, so we.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
Are still a full three weeks away that if Kenny
Pickett is out there doing seven on seven. He implied
today on the podium that maybe he's turned a corner,
that he's you know, he could see the light at
the end of the tunnel as a mix metal force
here on his recovery, but he was not ready to
commit to being able to go next week. I think

(16:50):
he's getting closer. I think if he gets there by
September seventh, then he would have to be your number two.
But I could be wrong. Look, I mean maybe Gabriel
or maybe Gabriel or maybe he should or for that matter,
if perhaps he could get back for the Rams game
next Saturday back in Huntington Bankfield. Maybe one of them
could plant that flag as well. But Pickett did look

(17:14):
good in the early portions of training camp and even
in mini camp, and he said that today it was
the first time he actually admitted that he was angry
about it, Like he said a couple of weeks ago
that he was frustrated. Yeah, he said that he allowed
himself twenty four hours to be angry. He's like, yeah,
the first twenty four hours, I let myself be angry
when he got hurt, but then he just turned it

(17:36):
to But now that's over and now I'm rehabbing, and
now I gotta stay positive and I think I'm getting close.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
Yeah, it just sucks. I mean, I remember Bernie interviewed
him after the practice when it happened, and there was
no reason to believe that there was anything wrong, and
now all of a sudden, we're into the fourth week.
He had the comments from Hoff on the television portion
of the broadcast on Friday, letting us kind of all
know that it was a little more severe than maybe
everyone was letting on. And now here you are four

(18:02):
weeks into this thing, and it's just changed everything and
for him, you know, your football mortality is flashing before
your eyes too, right, I mean not that long as
a first round pick, but you get old in a hurry.
And now this was an opportunity to be a starter,
and maybe that's one that's lost with a nothing official
from coach. Yet, it's hard to imagine a scenario where
it's anything other than Flacco. And now it's the opportunity

(18:22):
that's happened for Gabriel because of the injury to Scheduur.
I mean, if he can play Saturday, I'll have this
thing all to himself all the while Kenny sits there.
So it's such a crazy place that this quarterback competition,
if it was one, has taken us with all of
these injuries to everybody except the forty year old. I mean,
we just have never seen anything like this.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
Yeah, and I think you know again, Kenny was pretty
open and honest about this today. I can't imagine being
in his shoes. He spoke about it a little bit
because you're back here in Philly, right, and he won
a ring last year with the Eagles. He got in
the game of the fourth quarter. This was his hometown team.

(19:05):
He's a Jersey kid, but this is his hometown team.
He was talking about going into the cafeteria these last
two days here in Philly and saying hi to all
the staff, and he said, you know, the five year
old in him, like when he when he was on
the field in the fourth quarter, it was like, you know,
I just imagine, like me, Donovan McNabb fan, and here
I am. I'm out here winning a super Bowl if

(19:26):
he had been healthy, and this would have been a
legitimate stage and form for him here these last two
days to maybe win this job.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
And he's not.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
It's seven on seven and he's got to do point
and shoot stuff and then just stand there and watch,
well flack On Gabriel and yesterday well yeah Flacko and
Gabriel yesterday Huntley do their thing.

Speaker 7 (19:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
Yeah, It's just wild what can happen over the course
of a couple of weeks in the league. All right,
let's put a rimit on what you saw in joining practice,
as we spent a lot of time on quarterbacks, obviously
the trench play all of that. Are there any individuals
that popped and I'm thinking, you know, bottom roster guys,
depth guys, is there anybody who had had some noteworthy

(20:10):
days here the last two days.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
I definitely mentioned Dom Jones. I think he has seen
a little bit from Chris Edmonds, but we saw him
play forty won the safety a lot last week in Carolina.
I thought it was notable that Caden Davis was getting
some work. He scored the two touchdowns a week ago,
and certainly we've talked about wide receiver depth. He got
some work with Joe Flacco in low red zone early

(20:34):
today in practice, Grant Delpy, you talked about pop. I
know Grant Delp it's not a bottom of the roster guy,
but I thought we might have a fight at one
point today Day two. You normally have the fights. Delpit
laid a shoulders a bang bang play. He was coming
at him, ball was hanging into the air and he
laid a shoulder into a tight end right in front
of me and Nathan and.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
We both went whoa.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
But Grant got up, apologized, put his arm around the guy,
and we had cooler heads prevail. But he's not a
bottom of the roster guy. Let me let me keep thinking.
Larvin ann got a touchdown yesterday. We already know him.
It's really, honestly to me, it's about the young corners.
Miles Harden had a pick yesterday. I think he has

(21:16):
certainly been the better of the two between he and
cam Mitchell, but you you would like to see both
of them take their game to the next level.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Is there anything better in sport? And I know that
you know this being around a lot of NFL teams
in your career, than the camaraderie and the brotherhood of
the offensive line. And I say this, it's so cool.
There's you swear like they're like that. They're like all
they are is step brothers. They're all velociraptors, like they're
all They all have each other's back no matter the organization.

(21:52):
You see it. And to see Landon Dickerson show up
with a cooler full of cans of beer and then
our guys suck down a few light beers after a
practice of it was like a throwback. All you needed
was fasenda and some classical music and it felt exactly
like everything you'd seen in old NFL films. But there
is just something that is so pure about offensive lines,
their togetherness in their own teams, but also buddy on

(22:15):
opposite teams.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
Yeah, I wish I had seen it. I had run
over to interview Fannin. We had to take Fannin for
Inside training Camp that'll air later on Cleveland Browns dot com,
and so I actually didn't see it, but I had
a chance to talk to Jason Kelsey before, who is
the star of the internet today.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
Obviously after the colt he had a bit of a
night as it turns out.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
Yeah, we were laughing about that and trying to break
down Taylor Swift's you know, cover zero, cover two, cover four,
and how much of that it's real, like she's she's
diving in now.

Speaker 4 (22:47):
She's a fan. Great to connect with him.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
But Brian Baldinger was there as well, my dear friend
from NFL that work and he is part of that
brotherhood as well. He was out there today. So it
was a it was kind of an old line kumbai
Yah kind of feel to it today, which is cool.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
I always tell people like they were the they're the
guys who they're playing like at lunch, they're playing shuffle
board together like all of them, Like they're just thick
as thieves all the way through. So you talked to Jason,
I mean, that's a bit of a night he had
last night.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
Yeah, his head was kind of spinning. We were talking
about the numbers. I think at one point they had
like a million five whatever people watching live. I mean,
that's absurd, it is, you know, I told him a
couple of years ago, he we so go back. The
Broadcast boot Camp is a programming program that at the

(23:41):
NFL runs at NFL Network. Used to be at Films.
It's been to the network the last couple of years,
where both current and former players come in and you
put them through the motions and and try to coach
them up. Rodney McLeod did it before his final season
with the Browns to get ready for media careers, and

(24:01):
maybe three years ago Jason went back and played another year.
I think we're two with the Eagles. Jason was one
of my partners doing TV play by play tape. So
we would stand there really on a sound stage, and
I would be the play by play guy. We'd look
at an old game from the year before, and Jason
would be the color guy, and you know, within like
ten seconds like okay, he's got it, Like we're good.

(24:24):
And then you just at that point you don't have
to worry about setting the next guy up or setting
the next play up or set making sure like I
don't need to at this point, try to make him
look good, like we're just having a conversation.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
He's got it, but.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
We had but we talked afterwards because it just launched
the pod and it was just kind of getting some notoriety.
I'm like, coould be teaching the podcast class because the
power that he has. I think in the NFL player community.
Now everyone wants their own show, but he's kind of
like the north Star for players and Travis two, but

(24:58):
you know, for how to do your own thing. He
should be teaching that class. And he is a leader
and a we'll go back to the word star, a
star in that arena, and he is amazing.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
Yeah, it was awesome and it now that I understand
that it did crash. I did not see it last night,
but I understand it crashed about forty five minutes in
or something like that. And they do have NFL Games
YouTube exclusive this year, so I Brazil, you know, yeah,
I'm surprised. I was surprised at crash, but you know
it's them and it's her. You think they would have
been prepared for those numbers.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
I mean, sometimes you have somebody who is so popular
that the Internet can't even hold them.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
Some would say she broke the Internet. Well done, I'll
say this though.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
I mean the streaming games have gone well so far, right, Yeah,
if you go back a decade ago, the very first
game that was ever streamed, if memory serves, was like
the Bills before Josh Allen and before they got good,
when they were in that downtime, the Bills and the Jaguars,
I think on an early Sunday.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
I want to say it was a Yahoo I don't.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
Remember, but you know, I do remember conversations behind the
scenes where one of the reasons that those two teams
were selected is that they didn't want it to crash.
Like they were going to put the Cowboys and the
Eagles on the very first streaming game. You put the
Jaguars on the first streaming game, and you prayed that

(26:29):
you had a good audience, certainly, but that it didn't
overwhelm the system. That was well over a decade ago.
The technology and the infrastructure of the Internet is far, far,
far more capable now and everything is streaming. But yeah,
YouTube has the Chargers and the Chiefs Chiefs. Yeah, Friday Opener,
Week one.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
Yeah, be here before you know it? All right, great stuff?

Year to nominate today. As Andrew and I were talking
about in the first hour, a lot happening on the
quarter of front before today's practice, Kevin Stefanski addressed many
of these issues. Let's start with Coach on what happened

(28:06):
to shudor Yeah.

Speaker 7 (28:07):
Felt it early?

Speaker 8 (28:08):
I think warming up and it felt it throughout individuals
who took a look at it. You know, if it's
a right guard, you can play through that. When it's
a quarterback, you kind of need that muscle to throw.
So unfortunately, I'm gonna put him down for a little
bit here. We'll treat it day to day and see
how he responds. But I want to be smart because
he's a thrower, so you can't push that thing.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
Yeah, so the timetable on that is going to be
an interesting one. Did you get any sense Andrew over
there today this morning? Just what is or just this?
Things just kind of up up in the air.

Speaker 4 (28:41):
I did not.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
I mean, look, I'd be really surprised if he goes Saturday.
I know Kevin didn't want to rule it out. He
later said, yeah, I'll stick with unlikely, but it was
kind of unlikely with a smile, not smiley the injury,
but like, yeah, I'll go with unlikely. But I don't
get the impression that change. Look fingers crossed that maybe
he could do something next week. You certainly hope so

(29:04):
because you had another national TV stage you get, you
get a home game, and you would love to see
him out there. But no, I do not have a
real read, a real timeline. I do, however, bos I'm
looking out my notes. I forgot to mention a couple
of other touchdowns because they did get the ball on
the end zone a couple of times. Pierre Strong had
a low red zone touchdown. Gabriel had won early in

(29:27):
the session to Jamari Thrash. That one was nice. In
the final period, great battle Quinon Mitchell and Jerry Judy.
Flacco hit Judy on a crosser who's lined up on
the left side and got across the face of Quinnon Mitchell,
second year corner out of Toledo when he sprinted to
the end zone. That was a nice one as well.

(29:49):
And then Dadjoku had a late touchdown and I thought, look,
what are the best balls of the day. Was it
incompletion it would have been a sack. I think it
was an eight gaplitz Flacco back pedaling, they would have
blown it dead. And then he just backpedaling, lofted this
ball to down the sideline like twenty five yards high.
Arcer almost looks like a punt, and Judy ran underneath

(30:09):
it on the sideline. Now his foot was on the line.
It wasn't a catch. But it was one of those like,
wait a minute, how did he get over here? And
how did that ball actually almost land in the bucket?
So the quarterbacks looked a lot better today.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
All right, keV The the other one is the who
will play on Saturday? Is that in regard to who
is going to play a quarterback? Is that the way
that I should read that? So that one is actually
on the other positions. I do have a cut, but
it's a little bit longer of the quarterbacks with the
multiple follow ups in the media had. If you want
me to pull that one up, we'll go ahead with
that one, Keviya, Yeah, let me give it.

Speaker 5 (30:44):
Let me get that one pulled up.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
If you want to go with the like thoughts on
the offense with versus Philly, I can play that and
look up.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Here, let's go with that. Yeah, that's fine, let's go
with that.

Speaker 8 (30:51):
I thought the offense had some when you're going up
against a really good defense, uh, particularly that front. Not
to take any away from their back end, but there
front is is a very very large, powerful front. I
thought the guys had had their moments, and then the
Philly defense had their moments. But that's kind of what
you do in these settings. Very rarely is a one

(31:11):
side and both sides kind of taking body blows.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
If you will, all right, So very unlikely that you'll
see Shouldure this weekend. Very unlikely that you won't see
You will certainly not see Flacco this weekend. My guess
is you won't see any of the starters. But in
terms of how the quarterback situation will be handled, here
is some sound from Kevin on that.

Speaker 8 (31:31):
We got to see how he does today and gets through,
so not not ready to say for sure.

Speaker 7 (31:35):
What about pick it today?

Speaker 8 (31:38):
He will be limited, yes, and if.

Speaker 9 (31:39):
Dylan doesn't start, I mean you really your only other
option then is.

Speaker 10 (31:42):
For Tyler to start the game.

Speaker 7 (31:43):
Right, We'll work through all those things.

Speaker 8 (31:45):
Obviously, you know Snoop knows exactly what to do, how
to do it, so is ready to roll. We'll see
who else is available, Mary kay, But got to get
through today before I know that chance.

Speaker 11 (31:58):
For this game.

Speaker 9 (31:59):
Because you guys said it was unlikely Hood play Saturday,
but it.

Speaker 8 (32:02):
Sounds I'll stay with unlikely. But yeah, he's day to day,
so what's today?

Speaker 5 (32:06):
Thursday? So unlikely?

Speaker 12 (32:08):
So could it be a situation where Tyler might play
the whole game.

Speaker 8 (32:11):
If it comes to that, everything's on the table.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
All right, there you go, so this is down there? Yeah,
I do, but I you know, it sucks. The whole
thing sucks. I've never had you. When do you ever
have two quarterbacks with amstring injuries and another one with
an oblique I mean, it just is crazy. What's what's
happened here?

Speaker 3 (32:28):
Joel Patonio said on the podium today. And we were
talking afterwards, he and I. He said, what's the record
for most quarterbacks on a roster?

Speaker 4 (32:41):
I did some digging. I couldn't figure it out.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Yeah, he and I were thinking, like, you know, long
before the days of the ninety man roster, you know,
you probably could have brought ten quarterbacks to camp. I'm
sure oh yoh, chos did so. It's hard to truly
get perspective on that. But you know, if if if
for some reason you said, well Gabriel can't go and

(33:07):
then it's only Huntley. You're not going to go sign
another one, are you? I mean we kicked that idea around.
Nathan's a girl, ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker 5 (33:14):
I joined, it's good to be with you. Oh yes, yes,
thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Yes, So we just spent the last like thirty eight
minutes saying, how Philly kicked our butt up and down
the field. We're not going to win a game.

Speaker 3 (33:28):
I mean, the offense looked good today. Picked themselves up,
Harold Fannon, the ultimate chess piece.

Speaker 13 (33:37):
Yes, the offense did look good today. I thought the
defense looked good today as well. Our defensive line. I
think really kind of continues to be to me, the
story of this football team. That is the team that
absolutely or the unit that has stood out period, like
just period. It stood out in Beria, it stood out

(33:57):
in Charlotte, then it stood out here in Philadelphia. And
this is one of those where you know, you don't
even have to take my word for it. There are
plenty of people who cover the Eagles. Jimmy Kempski, who
covers for the Philly Voice, he was saying Miles was
the best player on the field. When I was getting comical,
I said twenty. But I'm prone to exaggeration. Maybe over

(34:19):
two days he might have had twenty. But I mean
you could have said Maguire had multiple sex, Cam Thomas
had multip sacks. E Malie Collins was in there, Mason
Graham was in there, Aiden Huntington was in there, Alex
Wright was in there.

Speaker 5 (34:29):
I mean, it just was.

Speaker 13 (34:31):
Wave after wave after wave of you know, this defense
just really kind of wreaking havoc. And I thought the
offense is the day went on, in particular, looked better
at thea in a game situation. It was a touchdown
to Jerry Judy that they ruled him he would not
have been down in a game. There's the dB fell down.
It was a touch on Mitchell. Yeah, quinnyon Mitchell, which
and that was a great battle. Watch those two who

(34:51):
are at at the top of their game, and you know,
you get the touchdown to Najoku and the two point
conversion from Flack go to Fan into Samson, and yeah,
it was a very good looking operation at the end.
I think both defenses won the day, if we're being honest,
I think over the course of two days or one
the two days, but our defense in particular was was big.
And listen, I know there are a lot of people
out there. My man Content Browns has dialed in. Elliott

(35:13):
shore Parks, who covers the Eagles, said that the Browns
one day two moving dropping Siriani and Jalen Hurts to
ten and three and joint.

Speaker 4 (35:22):
In the time.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
So this is going to judge his scorecard? He went,
he went, we won, he said, eagle slight victory. Then't
want to even award of full victory. Day two, clear
victory for the Browns, Like.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
How did how have we? Why did? Why have we
not thought of this?

Speaker 5 (35:41):
Oh? I mean this is going.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
Of course we're supposed to quarter but no, of course,
but this is what we should be doing, like we
should be doing. Who won joint practice? Which I'm so
disappointed in us all these years? I know, how were
we not Awarren winners and losers of joint practices?

Speaker 11 (36:01):
God?

Speaker 13 (36:02):
Two, we're two in one. We're two in one, and
I thought, I think we're really too oh in one.
If we're being honest, we definitely won the day. Oh,
that's not even question.

Speaker 5 (36:10):
We won today.

Speaker 13 (36:11):
I think yesterday could have been a call to push.
I'm a two oh and one record right now for
the Cleveland Browns in joint practices in the Stefanski, Flacco, Sanders, Gabriel, Pickett, Huntley, Huntley.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
Watson, Watson got them all, Yes, think you got them?
See do you feel like we've obviously spent a line
a lot of time talking about the quarterback situation. Do
you feel like that by the time we get to Saturday,
it'll be Dylan.

Speaker 5 (36:37):
Gabriel cautiously optimistic.

Speaker 13 (36:44):
And that's like when I say that that puts me it,
I'm gonna call it fifty five forty five. Yes, I
think a few days ago and have been eighty twenty. Yes,
I think that there's he's performed well, he's done everything.
But I think that my sense of it is that
it is it truly will be a game time decision.

(37:05):
I don't think we're going to sign another quarterback. I
think that in the event because obviously, look he did
eleven on Eleven's right, in the event that he is
not good, where they're going to start him and let
him play, Like I think, if they think that he
can play, he'll start. If they don't think he can play,
he will be the emergency and it will be four
quarters of Snoop. And in the event that I think
Snoop were to get hurt, I think Dylan Gabriel would

(37:26):
go in there and either kneel or hand the football
off from the shotgun and we.

Speaker 5 (37:30):
Will leave go back.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
So if he doesn't play Saturday, it'll just be for
health reasons.

Speaker 13 (37:35):
That would be the only reason he would not play Saturday, Yes,
so that they were worried that he could do more
damage to that hamstring. If he is good to go,
he will play, and I think he would play a
significant amount. And I think you would want, you know,
kind of similar to what we saw the first week
with Shador And I think that's let me tell you something.
That is the hope. That is everybody's hope. Yeah, that's
Dylan's hope. That is Kevin Stefanski's hope, That is Andrew
Berry's hope. That is everybody's hope, is that Dylan Gabriel

(37:57):
can get out there. And today, you know, Dylan didn't
have a great day, miss some throws that you know
we probably would normally have made.

Speaker 4 (38:05):
But you agree he looked better than yesterday.

Speaker 13 (38:08):
Well, I kind of liken it to a golfer that
was off maybe bogie in some holes they should have
pard here or there. But then eighteen stripe it hit
it to an inch tap in birdie because his last
throw is a twenty yard beautiful corner to Harold Fannon.

Speaker 4 (38:25):
Well, he also had the touchdown drop by Dante Johnson.

Speaker 5 (38:27):
Yeah, that was a two point conversion.

Speaker 4 (38:29):
Yeah, whatever, whatever it was. Yet, like it is a
ball thrown to the end zone that was perfect.

Speaker 5 (38:32):
Okay, yes, yeah, so that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 13 (38:34):
He ended, I thought, and that's what you know, that
gives you when you're a golfer, That gives you confidently
I want to go.

Speaker 5 (38:39):
I love golf.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
See. He also had he had the throat of the
tight end baits that was dropped earlier in practices.

Speaker 4 (38:45):
Well that was a short one, don't get me wrong.

Speaker 13 (38:47):
Sure better today, but it was you know, all I'm
trying to say is praise the last throw being you know,
hopefully that a momentum builder because that was in a
competitive situation and uh that was god tent.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
Browns just tweet the legendary Natan Sir has a stuff
to oh and when Enjoint practices, that's tremendous.

Speaker 5 (39:11):
I'm glad we blew it.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
We should have been doing this for God, I'm so
mad that we weren't doing this from the jump. We
could have been doing this the last four years.

Speaker 13 (39:19):
I think we need to do it with judges scorecards though,
and like you were saying, box.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
And of course, yeah, absolutely, yeah, we can do it
by period. What are we doing decision by.

Speaker 13 (39:29):
The way, Yeah, and I would say I'm gonna We're
gonna dock the Eagles one point for the absolute power
of their audio system.

Speaker 4 (39:38):
Oh my god.

Speaker 13 (39:39):
I mean there there are gonna be a lot of
people who's hearing that were at these two joint practices.
If you were positioned anywhere or walked at any point
in front of those speakers, who's hearing will not be
the same as it was before they walked them.

Speaker 5 (39:51):
From those speakers. I'm telling you, it was. It was nuts.
It was nuts, all right.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
One of the other big themes the day was once
again Kenny Pickett was out, but he did address the media.
We will have that for you coming up next. To

Here is Browns quarterback Can you Pikett Kenny?

Speaker 14 (41:05):
You've obviously gone against Quinnaini Cooper plenty last season. Where
have you seen them over these last two days make
the biggest advancement of their game?

Speaker 11 (41:12):
Yeah? I was talking toque a little bit in between
some of the periods, just his understanding of the defense
now being a year in, having a full year of experience,
and then kind of understanding what offenses are trying to
do attacking, you know, the defense that they play. So
I think he's done a great job. He obviously was
phenomenal last year for them. You know, I'm looking forward
to you know, what does this year?

Speaker 9 (41:31):
How are you coming along with the hamstring and where
are you at.

Speaker 7 (41:34):
And what's the heck?

Speaker 11 (41:36):
Yeah, I feel like I'm turning the corner a little
bit this week, which is you know, really positive. I
was able to run you know a little bit more yesterday,
So I'm getting there. Just taking a day at a time,
you know, obviously it's it's extremely frustrating. I'm only being
able to get like seven on seven lately and someone
on ones. But just focus on trying to take advantage
of those as much as I can do.

Speaker 15 (41:54):
You feel like next week you should be able to
knock on wood, be able to get out there.

Speaker 11 (41:58):
I can't say that yet. It's good. You know it'll
be close.

Speaker 5 (42:02):
Have they told you, hey, you.

Speaker 9 (42:04):
Know, anything can still happen, and keep your head in
this competition because it's.

Speaker 5 (42:09):
Not over yet.

Speaker 11 (42:10):
It is that I was never even mentioned. I think,
you know, we're all just going to day at a time,
you know, going through camp. You know they'll make that
decision whenever they want to make that decision. But just
trying to put my best foot forward on the reps
that I do get right now, How didn't feel me?

Speaker 4 (42:22):
I'm back here?

Speaker 7 (42:23):
It was great. It was great.

Speaker 11 (42:24):
You know, you have a special season like that. You know,
you kind of build a bond with people for life.
So being able to see you know, everyone that I
played with last year, coaches, trainers. I went to the
cafeteria and so all all the you know, all the
people back there and you got to give some hugs.

Speaker 7 (42:38):
So it was great.

Speaker 11 (42:39):
You know, it's holds a special place in my heart
for that year. Uh, you know, really glad. You know
we were back here for this camp to go see everybody.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
We han't We haven't had a chance to talk to
you really since the Super Bowl. What did it mean
to you to be out there late in that game?

Speaker 7 (42:51):
Yeah, it was awesome.

Speaker 11 (42:52):
You know, the the five year old of me would
have been going crazy, you know, back in the day.
You know, I remember watching Donovan mcna you know, all
those old days when he was making his runs and uh,
you know, to be able to be a part of
that team was awesome. Having my parents there, my family,
my wife, you know, it was it was really cool.
You were obviously a big part of that quarterback room
last year, especially with Tara McKee one of the new

(43:12):
news and his development. You still talked to him like
and you know, just out of relationship. Yeah, we just
talked a little bit yesterday and today. You know, I
think the system, I don't know if it's changing are
a little different. Uh, just kind of talking about you know,
talking through some of those things, you know, talking again
about our defense that he was playing out there today.
Tanner's an awesome guy, man. I know he's gonna do
a great job for them. You know, he's prepared for it.

(43:34):
He's a he's a true pro, goes about his business
the right way. So really happy for him, is it
or I don't even know.

Speaker 9 (43:40):
If that's the right word, that after you get injured,
Ben Dylan gets injured, now Schidor is injured, and just
this whole four week quarterback competition took these unexpected twists.

Speaker 11 (43:51):
Yeah, it's it's it's a it's a wild game. You know,
it's football, you know everyone you know, I got my
home problems to worry about him. Just focused on my recovery.
You know, you never want to see any will go down.
We all want to be out there competing. So it's
a tough deal. But I know each guy's trying to
get back out there and be one hundred percent.

Speaker 16 (44:06):
How has Kenny I don't know, frustrations to the right word,
but I know you think mentioned it a couple of times,
So just managing that part of dealing with.

Speaker 7 (44:13):
A Yeah, I try.

Speaker 11 (44:14):
I try to give myself twenty four hours to be
as angry as I could be and then just turn
the page, you know, every day doing as much as
I can. It truly is a twenty four to seven
grind to try to get back one hundred percent. So
I'm doing absolutely everything I can. Hopefully I can push
it to get out there. I want to be smart,
but at the same time, I want to be out
there competing. So you're kind of like walking that fine line.

Speaker 15 (44:35):
I know you probably I think you talked about this
back in the off season, but just the experiences you
had last year in Philly, what what place have you
brought that to the to this team, just like from
this quarterback.

Speaker 11 (44:46):
Where yeah, I think you know, I talked to Tommy
a lot about what we did last year, and I
think he does a great job of looking at, you know,
what other teams do, what other systems and uh, you know,
concepts have been really successful for other teams. And he
asked me a lot. It'll be where we were favorite
five from Philly, Favor five from Pittsburgh. I'm sure he's
done the same with Joe. He's just always looking to
to make the system better and put our guys in

(45:08):
the best places to succeed. So, you know, I think
we go back and forth on a lot of the
things that we did. We pull up tape, we kind
of go through it that way. So we have a
we have a quarterback room with a lot of knowledge
and experience, you know, with Joe and Deshaun has played
a lot of football too, so you know, I try
to add as much as I can. So I think
it's you know, that's probably the main one.

Speaker 9 (45:26):
What were you really excited about in terms of your
progress in those first four practices, It seemed like.

Speaker 11 (45:32):
You were really coming along then, Yeah, I felt I
think I touched on it before the five weeks at home.
I really just dedicated to studying the playbook and going
through it on the field, you know, training hard, being
in the best shape that I felt like I have
been in my life for the competition. So I came
back ready to go. You know, obviously the injury is unfortunate,
but I kind of I feel like I'm you know,

(45:53):
keeping that same keeping that same thing in the seven
on seven reps that I get, just trying to be
as accurate as I can be make the right read
and move on to the next play. So that's really
my mindset right now.

Speaker 2 (46:03):
Kenning, Sorry they asked you did say to sport, but
you know this Eagles.

Speaker 11 (46:07):
Defense better than anybody on the team from.

Speaker 2 (46:11):
Your vantage watching the offense, your offense these two days.

Speaker 7 (46:15):
How do you think they did any well?

Speaker 11 (46:16):
I thought they did a great job. I thought, you know,
there's positives negatives. There's always gonna be that we definitely
want to clean out the pre snap stuff something the
coaches are harping on, you know that we need to
get cleaned up as an offense. But I thought it
was a good battle for both days. I think there
was highs on both sides. You know, there were some
lows on both sides, but the competitiveness, the want who
was there. I really liked the way we competed. Guys

(46:37):
were going at it. So it was a positive, especially
to say like this, how are you how much are
you staying involved in the conversation.

Speaker 7 (46:44):
With the other quarterback? Heavily?

Speaker 11 (46:45):
Yeah, as heavily as I can be. Because I'm not
getting those reps. I kind of stand in the back
and go through the checks, go through the cadence trying
to steal as much as I can, and then when
those guys come off, I try to help them out too,
you know, tell them what I saw, ask them what
they saw, and kind of talked through the play. Then
you have the meetings again to go over that and
kind of have that open dialogue. So it's been you know,
it's been good from that standpoint. I know you have your.

Speaker 9 (47:06):
Own issues to deal with. But did Shdor you know,
seek you out a little bit just for any kind
of consolation or did you have any words of advice
for him for the oblique thing that?

Speaker 11 (47:16):
Yeah, I mean, yeah, we're in the training room together
and we just talk about I mean, he's awesome. He's
got a great attitude about it. You know, he'll be
back out there, you know, as soon as he can be,
just like I can. So I really like his attitude
and how he's going about his business.

Speaker 12 (47:28):
Kenny Harold Fan had a big day today, especially, he
had a drop early, kind of came back from it.
How have you seen him progress? And just having two
big targets like him and a joke, how does that help?

Speaker 5 (47:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (47:37):
I think we have an unbelievable tight end room. Obviously
with Dave. Everyone knows what he can do, but Harold's
really stepped up. You know. I'm really impressed with the
intensity that he probably. He's such a quiet guy and
then he goes in there and really competes hard. And
he'll take on a Mike Backer and run plays, and
a d M one on one, He'll take him on
with no problem and then go out there and run

(47:57):
great routes. So I really impressed with Harold and what
I think he can bring to this team. You know,
if he stays on the track that he's on right now.

Speaker 2 (48:05):

how good is your guys's internet? There in the in
the old Hotel Cciliano here, Z's here gave me keeps
trying to do these these zoom things, and I'm like you, guys,

(49:33):
is your service sucks?

Speaker 4 (49:35):
Zoom?

Speaker 5 (49:36):
Yeah? Sticks, and I hate it. Uh.

Speaker 3 (49:38):
You know, AOL just retired apparently the dial up sound
that was a big part of many of our youths.

Speaker 5 (49:45):
Oh my god, no longer it's done. Really, yeah, that's all.

Speaker 13 (49:50):
It's a retired sound now, But that would be the
sound that would tell you about the quality of our
current internet situation.

Speaker 2 (49:56):
Here the oh there, I'm literally getting notificable that's running
there you are in circles.

Speaker 3 (50:03):
It's a mouse on a wheel my laptop. Right now,
we're on the Zoom and the my laptop is running
off my phone as a hot spot because that's the
only way to get enough Internet current through my laptop
to get on the Zoom.

Speaker 4 (50:21):
Stupidity your SHANEA.

Speaker 2 (50:25):
Hello Gibbe.

Speaker 4 (50:26):
Hi.

Speaker 17 (50:27):
Sorry, I was trying to let all of you into
the Zoom, but then I got knocked out of your
own zoom.

Speaker 2 (50:33):
I'm surprising with all of the vacationing you do, I'm
surprised you don't have four seasons points, Gibbe that would
allow for the internet.

Speaker 17 (50:40):
Yeah. Yeah, well actually I can tell you. The internet
that you're currently doing the Zoom on cost me fifteen
dollars a day, all.

Speaker 4 (50:51):
Right, you special super bonvoid status.

Speaker 2 (50:57):
No no, no, no, no no.

Speaker 17 (50:58):
I want you to know that Bill will still be
here on Saturday when I leave.

Speaker 5 (51:03):
Because you're not getting I'm not paying for anything.

Speaker 17 (51:06):
I'm not paying for anything because I'm sorry that your
internet sucks. Number one number two, like we have, I
don't know what you got.

Speaker 5 (51:17):
We have.

Speaker 17 (51:17):
We have coaches downstairs that are like, how's your internet?
Is your floor better than my floor? I'm gonna come
to your floor. Coaches.

Speaker 2 (51:25):
You know where we have where right now at the
Cross Country Mortgage Campus. Internet's fantastic because we're not there.
That's just football is not there. Football's not there, eating get.

Speaker 4 (51:36):
All the followed, It follows us around.

Speaker 2 (51:40):
You can watch anything you want right now with this stuff.

Speaker 4 (51:43):
I almost I almost took the tea.

Speaker 3 (51:45):
I tried to actually crawl behind the dresser here in
my room and try to get the TV off the
wall because there's actually a router back there.

Speaker 5 (51:54):
I saw.

Speaker 4 (51:55):
But give me, if you look at your band's dresser,
you could see the router.

Speaker 3 (51:58):
You can see it and get like you want to
pick up like maybe I get a cable there, but
like you can't get to the rounter trying to hard
wire this thing and it's not working, like nothing is working.

Speaker 2 (52:11):
Well, the good news is you guys are only there
two more days, so so there you go. That's that's
very exciting to see. You were off doing your your
various jobs that you have right at one o'clock and
and have no respect Andrew and I kind of broke
down everything that from his perspective that he saw. I
spent a lot of time in the quarterbacks. As you
dig into your copious notes. What were some of the

(52:33):
bigger themes today for you, other than the fact that
you have now proclaimed US two zero to one in
enjoint practices, it's right, documented documented.

Speaker 3 (52:43):
It's really hard in these situations when there isn't tackling
to evaluate the running games.

Speaker 13 (52:49):
And I think that's true for either team. You know,
one of the things that we always talk about is,
you know, yards after contact per carry, you know, and
the good runners or you know, two and a half
above and usually over three three and a half yards
per carry after contact in these situations, like once you
take contact, it's like that's it.

Speaker 5 (53:07):
So it's tough to see the running game.

Speaker 13 (53:09):
I did think we had a few plays that were
blown up in the backfield against US. We blew up
a few plays of Theirs in the backfield as well.
But there were some runs where Jerome Ford was able
to get on the edge on a toss sweep whe
Dylan Sampson made a nice cutback and had some space
that I think could have been big gains of money.
Marshall had one that looked like it could have been
a touchdown to the low red zone, par Strogan zone
Pierre as well. So there were some good things in

(53:31):
the running game, it's just really hard to know. And conversely,
for you know, the defense, it's hard to know if
we really would have locked them down. I will say this,
So Andrew and I were in between the two fields
as things were kicking off, and we had to move
far away from those speakers, not kidding, like we had
to move get away from those speakers. So we're like
way kind of in the middle in the mix, and
the Eagles running backs were going.

Speaker 5 (53:53):
Through their warm ups.

Speaker 13 (53:55):
Saquon Barkley is to running back bodies as Miles is
to the defensive they just look like different species. He
is so big and solid, like aj Dillon is known
is now on their team, the former a Green Bay
Packer for his quads, I mean both of these guys.
It is Quadzilla, quad Zilla, quad Zilla Quzilla, just his

(54:16):
whole body. He's just a normal it's normal proportion, but
just bigger and thicker and more explosive.

Speaker 3 (54:22):
If Saquon and Aaron Rodgers ever played together, the best
set of calves in the NFL, those four oh Man,
is Kyle Brant topic here like about the calves? Yeah,
like Aaron, when we when we go to Pittsburgh, Week six,
assuming Aaron Rodgers is still playing quarterback for the Steelers
and not Will Howard or something like that. Look Aaron Rodgers,
it looks as if he has two basketballs.

Speaker 5 (54:43):
For all right, I'm going to say something. I'm going
to give you.

Speaker 13 (54:45):
I'm going to give you a few guesses here, and
I'm gonna eliminate my good friend, the big Daddy, Scottie Monico,
who is the mayor of the Cleveland Calves, because he
has the biggest calves I've ever seen in Cleveland wrestler.

Speaker 5 (54:56):
Now, no, no, no, no, no, no no.

Speaker 13 (54:58):
And I'm sticking to grec Roman amateur wrestling when I'm
discussing double league takedowns. But the biggest calves I've ever
seen on a human relative to the rest.

Speaker 5 (55:08):
Of their being belonged to a Browns.

Speaker 13 (55:12):
I think he may but eas either general manager, I
don't know what exactly he was, but also who worked
for the Eagles, No was also the Eagles like President
I think back in the Andy Reid days.

Speaker 4 (55:25):
Joe Banner.

Speaker 13 (55:26):
Joe Banner, I would I think Joe Banner could dunk
a basketball on a thirty foot hoop. His calves look
like they are nuclear bombs kids.

Speaker 5 (55:40):
I don't think.

Speaker 3 (55:40):
I bet he more inches taller than Joe Banner. Yeah,
but you have normal calves.

Speaker 13 (55:45):
He has the biggest calves I've ever seen on a
human being in my.

Speaker 5 (55:49):
Life is calves.

Speaker 13 (55:51):
It's like, literally there is a basketball in his and
they have small lakes, so it looks even bigger.

Speaker 5 (55:57):
Joe Banner.

Speaker 13 (55:58):
I used to I tell people all the time, there
are a lot of people who I don't work at
the Browns now that thought my cav commentary and Joe
Banher was hilarius because it's true.

Speaker 5 (56:04):
And they'd be like, what are you talking about? And
then I'd be like, go look, go look.

Speaker 13 (56:07):
The next day they look at it be like, what
the heck I'm telling you, Joe Banner might have the
biggest vertical in human hit on human record.

Speaker 2 (56:19):
Him or that elevator guy who's for the Globetrotters who
had dunk at eleven feet. Those of the two were
going for.

Speaker 5 (56:25):
Eleven feet. He laughs at that.

Speaker 2 (56:29):
I asked Andrew this, I'll ask you this. You have
it in your head what you think this team is,
and then you get a joint practice in Carolina and
two in Philly. What changed about what you thought this
team was ten days ago, or did much of what
you thought this team was? Was it confirmed over these
last three joint practices.

Speaker 13 (56:50):
Not to quote Dennis Green, but yeah, they are who
we thought they were. I mean, I think that this
team is going to be what I thought it was
going to be. Let nobody off the hook two one
one the contrary, they're on the hook. Dominant defensive front.
I still have questions about the third cornerback position. I
Carson Swessinger and the linebackers look very good considering that

(57:13):
they're supposed to be Jordan Hickson j Okay out there
with them, Grant help it in the safeties look very good.
We're gonna be a really good defense. It's gonna be
led by our front. I believe we are going to
be able to run the ball. Obviously we all want
to see quinch On Judkins back soon, but you can
see that. And then with Joe Flacco, we're gonna be
able to hit big plays off of play action. Like

(57:34):
Flacco wasn't going out there as I talked about yesterday.
It wasn't you know, ding ding ding ding ding. But
when the when he did connect, they were big plays,
a big plays to Judy every day in joint practice,
whether it's Carolina, whether it was day one here, whether
it's day two here, that is gonna be a lot
of what we did. I think David Ajoku is almost
starting to ramp up in the regular season for him,
He's caught touchdowns each of the last two days. And

(57:55):
Harold Fan and is we talk we're gonna live a
lot in twelve personnel. There's nothing I've seen that's swaying
me from that. So in many ways, and I think
today and yesterday is where you really got about sixty
plus number one reps for really to show what the
starters was. That's what's gonna be great defense. We are
gonna be able to I think harassed quarterbacks. If we
can be a team that plays with leads and second halves,

(58:17):
it's gonna I think we should be able to close
and we're gonna have to run the ball and then
when those shot plays are there, we've got to hit him.
And that's what Joe Flacco has done, you know, throughout
his career and even when it was a Browns nemesis,
how many games were there where it's like, oh, you're
holding them down, You're holding them down and then all
of a sudden, it's Flacco to Tory Smith for seventy
yards and you're like, oh, how did that happen?

Speaker 5 (58:35):
And then they win the game.

Speaker 4 (58:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (58:36):
I mean that's what he does, that's his EMO, and
he can still do it. The question is how long
does that formula work? And that's not maybe a now conversation,
that's a September conversation, but right now, barring something highly
unforeseen and unforgettable and unfortunate, it's going to be Joe Flacco.

Speaker 4 (58:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (58:57):
I just know you'd almost take an injury to Joe
Flah to prevent that from happening at this point.

Speaker 5 (59:02):
For week one.

Speaker 3 (59:03):
Yes, Yeah, I hope the run game is fully operational
by week one. That's that's what I I'm not concerned about.

Speaker 4 (59:11):
That's what I need to see.

Speaker 13 (59:12):
Yeah, absolutely, And it's so hard to get a real
evaluation of that now. I think that we're going to see,
at least briefly against the Rams, a look at what
we're going to be now. I think they're probably though,
within that there will be people you do not need
to see. I don't think you need to see Miles
or Denzel or Joe Petoni. That's something else I want
to point out.

Speaker 3 (59:30):
Denzel Ward is playing at a level where, yes, Miles
is the best defensive player on the planet and the
best edge. But I think at the end of the year,
if Denzel Ward continues where he was last year, I
think he was disrespected in the All Pro voting.

Speaker 2 (59:44):
He was yep, led the.

Speaker 13 (59:47):
League nineteen passes defense. If he he has been so
good like he vaporized Devonte Smith, who is a very
talented player. I mean, just like a magic eraser go by,
you're not there anymore. They went to Big Play. After
Big Play broke him up, he was right there the
whole time.

Speaker 5 (01:00:06):
He is. He looks better than ever.

Speaker 13 (01:00:10):
I will say when I talk about this defense, though
Miles and ten Zel.

Speaker 5 (01:00:15):
Like they get hurt. We do have a lot of
you know, guys on the D line.

Speaker 13 (01:00:19):
I'm just saying, suh, fine, they those are cannot be.

Speaker 4 (01:00:26):
I mean, there's some things you just don't talk.

Speaker 5 (01:00:30):
Listen one of the greats.

Speaker 13 (01:00:31):
I think there's a sport the baseball they're calling it,
and I think there was a discussion before the no
hitter that there was there was talk about it from
the man himself.

Speaker 4 (01:00:43):
What was the talk that podcast. Are we by the go?
Are we gonna go down this road?

Speaker 3 (01:00:50):
There's no as a broadcaster, Well then what do you
tell me to be quiet for? You can't have it
both We're talking about health. Health and a no hitter
are two vastly different things, fast different things.

Speaker 13 (01:01:00):
So there's a broadcast JINX for health, but not for
I'm broadcasting. You're saying I can have now I'm affecting
their health, but you can't affect the no hitter.

Speaker 5 (01:01:09):
You can't have it both ways. The next level is next.

Speaker 13 (01:01:11):
We will see you getting ready for the game in
Philadelphia tomorrow at one like.

Speaker 3 (01:01:16):
This idea that Gavin Williams are And wait a minute,
Wait a minute, did somebody up there on level four
just say that I hadn't allowed a hit. It's not
that I'm at one hundred and twenty one pitches, the
most pitches ever thrown in a Major League game this season. No, no, no,
it's it's because that guy up there said something.

Speaker 4 (01:01:36):
That's why I gave up the hit.

Speaker 3 (01:01:39):
Yes, just because some guy in a studio in Los
Angeles mentioned that this kicker had never missed before two
thousand miles away.

Speaker 5 (01:01:48):
Yeah, you're agreeing with me. Oh god want stupid that you.

Speaker 2 (01:01:53):
One and oh I thought they're coming.

Speaker 5 (01:01:54):
Ad that doesn't shut up and now it's stupid.

Speaker 3 (01:02:00):
Not called you good by stupid.

Speaker 4 (01:02:04):
The idea was stupid.

Speaker 2 (01:02:05):
Yes, he's gone days go it's it maybe forty eight
hours something like that. Yes, did you guys, Do you
guys have a nice meal last night? Did you have
a nice.

Speaker 5 (01:02:21):
Gracious me?

Speaker 2 (01:02:22):
Was this the rice with the this is z hov?

Speaker 17 (01:02:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 13 (01:02:25):
This we went to sah which is uh, it's Israeli
food and it's James Beard, the utterly phenomenal it was.
I came and lofty expectations. I've heard about this for
years since we've been coming here. We finally got in.
What's the name of the joble.

Speaker 5 (01:02:41):
Zahav z a h a V.

Speaker 3 (01:02:44):
I'd gone with the hoff many a year ago, twenty
twenty one. Actually we're here for a Thursday night affair
and we had a big group and went over there
and it's I've been talking about it ever since. And
we got in last night, sat at the bar Troy
Troy was the man, our bartender, sports fan. We we
had a good conversation going and it was a tasting
menu bow where we could order between the two of

(01:03:05):
us sharefold or items. That was it four items. Our
guy Troy brought us the entire man.

Speaker 13 (01:03:11):
We had everything, so we ate it all and he
was very pleased with us, and we were very pleased
with Troy.

Speaker 4 (01:03:17):
He kept bringing out more food, like what is this Like,
you guys.

Speaker 2 (01:03:19):
Are here very interesting menu.

Speaker 3 (01:03:22):
So just for our audience, there's opener with the bread
and the hummus and the dude.

Speaker 5 (01:03:28):
It was one of the great things I've ever had.

Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
My in the beginning. And then they that's when your
bread comes. Then you get what they call mesa, which
is the choose one like Greek.

Speaker 13 (01:03:39):
So we we got to pick because there were two
of us, we got to pick two of the five
or six.

Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
Would you go?

Speaker 5 (01:03:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 18 (01:03:44):
No.

Speaker 13 (01:03:44):
We went with the campachi crudo and the heirloom tomatoes.

Speaker 5 (01:03:49):
We were told they were in season.

Speaker 7 (01:03:50):
They were big.

Speaker 13 (01:03:51):
But then they brought us the cauliflower. They brought us
the beans, and they brought us there was a third.

Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
There was a supposed to pick one. You got five.

Speaker 5 (01:03:59):
We got them all, yeah, yep.

Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
And then what was your main?

Speaker 4 (01:04:01):
What was your main?

Speaker 2 (01:04:02):
Because there's a brand Zeno. We got oysters, chicken, steak, swordfish,
egg plant.

Speaker 4 (01:04:06):
What do we do with the lamb?

Speaker 13 (01:04:07):
We went with the lamb, which is seventy two hour
lamb shoulder that smoked. As soon as I feld, like,
is this smoked? You better believe it was smoked palace.
They got it in a pomegranate sauce. And then because
they like then they also brought us uh a steak
kebab and it was weft side a skewer from the
left side. And then this rice that was like a

(01:04:30):
rice hockey puck. That was delightful, especially when you mix
it in the in the like greens and the tomato broc.

Speaker 3 (01:04:36):
If anyone knows Persian food, the rice that they basically
cake into the bottom of the pan, you crisped like
you almost burn it on the bottom, not burn it,
but you you cake it into the bottom pan. Then
you scrape it off the pan. You got this crunchiness stew.
You put some raisins in it.

Speaker 5 (01:04:49):
Sutter.

Speaker 13 (01:04:50):
Oh yeah, it was a plus all around. And did
you desert They brought us all so. The one that's
got grapes on it tastes like peanut butter and jelly.
It's ice cream. It was nuts.

Speaker 2 (01:05:01):
The peach sort peanut peanut bottlava ice cream, peanut bottlava
ice cream with uh yeah, with pineapple sorbet.

Speaker 19 (01:05:11):
And then you also got out thed sorbet. Last night
it was a peach sor I woke up in a
food coming. You know, when you get the you get
the alcohol hangover. There's not an alcohol. I had a
food hangover.

Speaker 4 (01:05:21):
This morning, he's texting me.

Speaker 5 (01:05:23):
He's texting me, He's like, dude, I feel so ful.

Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
I was like, I feel great, my size, Okay, we
ate the same meal.

Speaker 17 (01:05:31):
You're what you have true room to put all number one.
You cannot keep up with z or with Jojo.

Speaker 4 (01:05:37):
I can't another Joe.

Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
He can stay in the vicinity.

Speaker 5 (01:05:43):
But hoffs, I've been the conversation.

Speaker 2 (01:05:46):
That's what I said, You're in the vicinity. But he's
another level.

Speaker 13 (01:05:48):
I don't think that was The thing were saying about
me was when he would watch my giant plates of
food and he'd be like, how does he eat all
that food?

Speaker 4 (01:05:55):
You have eighty pounds? Just fo I know.

Speaker 3 (01:06:02):
But then he's telling me he's so, he was so fools.
We get on the bus and he's like ripping this.

Speaker 13 (01:06:06):
Morning, he's ripping oats and and uh and fruit.

Speaker 5 (01:06:09):
It's fruit and grains.

Speaker 4 (01:06:10):
That's all it was.

Speaker 13 (01:06:11):
I'm like, I have don't eat again into lunch and
then we get to the place and we're walking around
and we go to get cold waters and Sicilian I
was like, well, I better have a cookie too, grabs
a cookie for the ride.

Speaker 5 (01:06:21):
I'm like, you can't beat apple.

Speaker 4 (01:06:22):
You're doing fine chocolate chip cookies. If you eip cookie
in front of me, I can't say no. Bootsy.

Speaker 2 (01:06:29):
Last night for us at dinner, Bootsy was adamant. Z
you'll appreciate this. He was adamant about having a raspberry sorbet,
and the other items were like, uh, a warm chocolate chip,
cook cookie and ice cream and like desserts that I
knew would be. Sorbet is fine, but I to me,
it's like how you viewed spamoni, Like it's fine, but

(01:06:50):
there if there are options on a second, the other
ones are better. And he got that sorbet and uh,
NBC had the the warm chocolate chip with cookie like
in the kettle. Yeah, the ice cream and all that,
and I'm like, that's.

Speaker 5 (01:07:03):
That's there's no way that Gillett, that's it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
I go there's no way that what that that sorbet
is keeping up with that, there's no chance. Well here's
a boots he finally.

Speaker 5 (01:07:13):
A good raspberry sorbet.

Speaker 13 (01:07:14):
Now, when I was a young man and I'd go
to my nanny and my nanos, that was the dessert.
We get the great beef soup and then dessert was
Hoggin DAWs sorbet. But you can't have the raspberry sorbet alone.
I don't think. I mean you can, but I think
it's best when you also then have a couple of
scoops of the hogan Das French vanilla or whatever your ice.
There you go that mellow with the with the villanilla,

(01:07:36):
and oh my goodness, that's a truth, because then it
starts to melt and now it's turning into like this
soup that is a a kaleidoscope of red raspberry.

Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
And well you get the mellowing too, the vanilla mellows.

Speaker 5 (01:07:49):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (01:07:50):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (01:07:51):
His his new move now is when he orders. Because
my thing is you can you can order that, you
have to eat all of it. So his new and
same thing with his drinks, you can you can have
this drink, you have to drink all of it. So
his new move is here. Oh this is good. You
should try this, dad, You want to try it? No, no, no,
just try it. That's code for he doesn't like it,
but he wants me to drink or eat some of
it so that there's less for him to consume. So

(01:08:12):
I called him out on it last night. Oh yeah,
you want to dead try this. It's real good. Oh
it's interesting. Normally, because if it's something you really like it,
you never offer it up.

Speaker 5 (01:08:20):
When I was a kid, I had to left for
whatever reason. In my mind.

Speaker 13 (01:08:24):
I remember we had peas a lot of times, and
back then I don't think they really had mastered like peas.
You know, you get like overdone peas and they're just
probably can't terrible mushy, terrible mushy. So we would have
some peas, and I'm sure my mom's listening, she'd be like, oh,
they maybe were great peas.

Speaker 5 (01:08:38):
They were not.

Speaker 13 (01:08:39):
And I would have to eat all my veggies before
I could get up from the plate or even be
even begin to get to be allowed to think about dessert.

Speaker 5 (01:08:47):
And so I got really good at with peas.

Speaker 13 (01:08:49):
I could spread them out so it didn't look like
they were a lot and then as people would go by, boom,
slap that one right off the plate. Boom, that one's
off the pat and yeah, of course, and then you
know you have the vacuum cleaner take care of it.
But one pie at a time. People don't notice it
if you try to slide. No, it's true and full
of piece off. No, but one piece of time. And
then I'd sometimes there'd be maststatoes and I try to
build like a wall of mashado so they couldn't really

(01:09:09):
see what's going on on my plate. And then I could,
you know, use behinde behind the cover of mashed potatoes
to get those peas out of there.

Speaker 5 (01:09:16):
And now I love English piece of split pea soup with.

Speaker 3 (01:09:19):
A nice come on, a nice hamhock, is it said?

Speaker 5 (01:09:23):
Delight?

Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
I love that absolutely. You know what else? A real
treat and siliana with Jamari Thrash. That's coming up next.

Speaker 3 (01:10:20):
It is hot out here, man, and I didn't do
two hours of joint practice with the Eagles. How was
it like or what was it like to work against
another team for the second straight week.

Speaker 20 (01:10:30):
It was a privilege going against you know, the Eagles,
you know, coming off of a Super Bowl wing you know,
you know they got the championship mind saying all they
know is grinding. All we know is grind. So it
was good to go against, you know, another team this week.

Speaker 5 (01:10:40):
What you learn?

Speaker 3 (01:10:41):
Can you compare this practice to last week's practice? How
do you think you guys did?

Speaker 5 (01:10:44):
Really just dealing with the.

Speaker 20 (01:10:45):
Weather, you know, we battled a little bit of fatigue,
so I think that's just gonna help us, you know,
moving forward into Week one. So really that's really just
really just battling against ourselves.

Speaker 4 (01:10:54):
It's the crazy thing.

Speaker 3 (01:10:55):
First couple of weeks of camp back in Brea were
crazy and then you had, you know, the clouds come in. Yeah,
Like week one could be anything against the Bengals. Week
one could be ninety five degrees. Week one could be
like sixty five in the rain, especially in Ohio. So
you never know what you're gonna get in Borea. So
this is unlike last week in that you get a
second day.

Speaker 4 (01:11:16):
Of work with the Eagles.

Speaker 3 (01:11:17):
What did you guys do today that you would like
to improve on in day two?

Speaker 20 (01:11:22):
I probably say just starting out fast early. I feel
like we got off to a slow start as an offense.
But what do you think that is Probably just fatigue,
probably just being in the weather, in the hot sun.
But I think that's something that we're working on now,
just coming together and fighting through a lot of stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:11:37):
You said fighting.

Speaker 3 (01:11:38):
I'm not trying to predict anything, but day two is
usually when it gets a little heated, especially with this
kind of weather. What do you think of that tomorrow?
I mean, obviously, I'm sure, I'm sure coach is gonna
say avoided.

Speaker 20 (01:11:46):
Yeah, I think I think tomorrowill be a smooth day tomorrow.
I don't really think there will be any altercations or
incidents tomorrow. But I think tomorrow gonna be just like
how today was a lot of competition, a lot of
guys ready to get out there.

Speaker 4 (01:11:58):
They got some pretty good corners, some young ones, some
veteran ones.

Speaker 5 (01:12:01):
Here.

Speaker 4 (01:12:01):
Who do you enjoy working against the most?

Speaker 20 (01:12:04):
I went against Cooper de Gine a lot today, So
probably going against him because you know, he's a young stud,
so probably going against him, uh, was probably the highlight.

Speaker 4 (01:12:12):
Of my day. He's got some speed. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I hear you.

Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
All right, let's uh, let's go to the game here
coming up on Saturday. How do you think you did
against the Panthers and what are you looking forward against
the I.

Speaker 20 (01:12:27):
Think I did pretty okay against the Panthers. Really my
biggest thing is making sure that and then going into yours,
I think I'm playing a lot faster, so really just
making sure I'm aligning to sign and sound with my assignments.

Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
Let's talk about that because a lot of rookies say that,
like you're one, like you don't even know like where buses,
like where the treatment is, like like what time, what time?

Speaker 4 (01:12:47):
Lunch is how much more comfortable do you feel? Overall?

Speaker 20 (01:12:50):
I feel a whole lot more comfortable because like last year,
you know, I was sort of like a running around
like a chicken with my head cut off. So I
was still trying to feel my way through the through
the building and on the field. But this year, I
feel like a whole lot or confident. I'm playing a
lot faster, I got a little stronger, So yeah, my
confidence is so what I don't want to say through
the roof, what is a lot higher than it was
last year.

Speaker 4 (01:13:08):
I think we've seen that on the field. Do you
feel that on the field? Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:13:10):
Yes, sir, you're in a weird spot to not weird,
but like as the guy in his second year, you're
the veteran who does know where to go, but you're
still also trying to make your name. You could be
like the leader for the young guys like Gauge or Luke,
but at the same time you're still trying to prove
I can play here.

Speaker 4 (01:13:27):
What's that balance been like for you?

Speaker 20 (01:13:29):
I mean, I really just try to take everything a
day at a time. I just try to be with
my feet at so, you know, whatever I can, whatever,
whatever I can install into Gauge or Cade or Keishan.
You know, I try to install, you know, some of
the stuff that I was installed to me last year.

Speaker 4 (01:13:42):
And I'm still learning from God, like said Jerry DeAndre.

Speaker 20 (01:13:45):
Carter, So you know, I'm still I don't think I'm
too big to still learn from those guys. But at
the same time, I take my knowledge and try to
pour it into the young guy.

Speaker 3 (01:13:52):
In the off season, which I know feels like, you know,
ten years ago already now in the dog days of camp.
What'd you work on the most getting ready for really
a huge opportunity for you?

Speaker 20 (01:14:00):
This Really the one thing I worked on was making
sure I understand coverages and my hand strengths, because the
last year, I think that was my biggest.

Speaker 4 (01:14:07):
Issue was catching consistently.

Speaker 20 (01:14:09):
So this so this summer, I just made sure I
just got on the drug machine, caught from different quarterbacks
and really just understand understanding different coverages.

Speaker 3 (01:14:17):
Last thing, my good friend Steve Smith Senior agen eighty nine,
my former colleague at NFL Network when you were coming
out of Louisville. He was a huge, huge Jamari Thrash fan.
Did you get a chance to connect with him last
week in Carolina.

Speaker 20 (01:14:29):
Yes, I did you know Steve Smith. He's so you know,
whenever I whenever I get an opportunity, you know, I
call him talk to him about anything, whether it's football
or just life situations. You know, when I met him
during the draft process, you know, he's always just stuck
beside me and you know, let me know the ins
and outs of the business and the ins and outs
of this of the league. So I know he's always

(01:14:50):
a friend I can always call or really he's like
he's like my uncle. Forrea so and Noebod need anything,
I can always call him and just talk to him.

Speaker 4 (01:14:56):
He's a good on TD. Give any notes after last week's.

Speaker 5 (01:14:58):
Game, No, I didn't talk.

Speaker 4 (01:15:00):
I'm at the game and I didn't talking about the game.

Speaker 3 (01:15:01):
Well, we got this week's game as well, and we
got air conditioning on the bus as well.

Speaker 4 (01:15:05):
Jamori, thanks for taking the time. Man talked to for
having me.

Speaker 5 (01:15:07):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:15:07):
All right, there you go Andrew with Jamari Thrash from
yesterday's preview show. Last night, Guys, I know we'll do
like the the probably a real look at where the
fifty three stands tomorrow, but let's just do a couple
of brief minutes here on the receiver room. Z Where
what has impressed the last couple of weeks and joining
practices in that position? Where are their concerns.

Speaker 13 (01:15:29):
Jerry Dudy has impressed all along and certainly looks like
he is ready to pick up where he left off
last year when you know it went over twelve hundred
yards and went to the Pro Bowler and Pro Bowl
and was one of the elite receivers in the NFL.
So that I like Cedric Tillman, I would say has
done Yeoman's work.

Speaker 5 (01:15:47):
Obviously he's physical in the run game.

Speaker 13 (01:15:49):
As a blocker, we haven't really seen him, I would say,
make a lot of splash plays in this camp, but
has made some tough catches over the middle. Thrash has
had his moments. Deontay Johnson can still get open. He
has had his moments. Carter has had his moments as well.
Gage Larvaden and Caveen Davis, who are the stars of
the first preseason game. They've made plays. Luke Floria obviously,
you know, I think somebody will be back on the

(01:16:09):
practice squad, but it's a room where I still think
competition could be brought in and then the other way
I look at it is the guy that we've been
talking about kind of at nauseam, and I can tell
you he has been considered by many in this organization
to be the one of the main bright spite spots
of the offseason as Harold Fannin. And I think, Harold Fannon,
we're going to live in twelve personnel, So Harold Fannon

(01:16:31):
is going to play. At times he's going to play
slot receiver. Other times he's gonna get split out all
the way wide like he is a wide receiver. He's
going to be, you know, moving and pulling. And Oh,
Andrew and I were on the bus with Joe Battonio
and he certainly has earned the respect of the Vets.
He's very excited about him, not only for what he
can do. He thinks he's a very good football player
as a pass catcher, but said that, you know, he's

(01:16:53):
he's willing to come around and pull and stick his
nose in there, and they like him. He's competitive and
he has been very very good. And I think when
you look at the receiver room, Harold Fannin not a receiver,
but he is going to be in that role a
lot and that makes me feel better.

Speaker 5 (01:17:11):
I think a little bit about that room as it stands.

Speaker 2 (01:17:15):
All Right, there you go, great stuff. We'll do the
further breakdown look at that fifty three in depth tomorrow
heading into preseason game number two, coming out of the
second week of joint practices. These being done in Philadelphia.

Speaker 16 (01:18:13):
Joel, it looked like Landon and Wayne had some nice
strengths for you guys out in the practice cald that
was that.

Speaker 7 (01:18:17):
The perfect end to two ninety plus degree days.

Speaker 18 (01:18:20):
It looked like a gatorade can to me, but no,
it was. It was a nice gesture. You know, the
old lineman uh suffered together sometimes, so it's always a bond.

Speaker 7 (01:18:29):
You know, even on other teams.

Speaker 18 (01:18:30):
We respect each other's games and stuff, so it's, uh,
it was a nice gesture.

Speaker 5 (01:18:35):
Joel.

Speaker 11 (01:18:35):
What's it like going up against the Jalen Choir and
Jordan games?

Speaker 7 (01:18:38):
Yeah, great players, I mean their whole interior.

Speaker 18 (01:18:40):
Ninety seven is a good player, too, young player ascending,
but all three of those guys are are you.

Speaker 7 (01:18:45):
Know, great players? They play hard, you know.

Speaker 18 (01:18:49):
I think Jayleen Card obviously was one of the best
t tackles in the game last year, and Jordan Davis
has slimmed down and is uh playing hard. So it's
a good challenge. But it's great to do in a
practice where you know you can try something if it
doesn't quite work right here, you know, not to try
that in the game.

Speaker 14 (01:19:02):
How about Moro Jomo, who Landon said has kind of
an awkward build in the best way possible, long arms.

Speaker 7 (01:19:07):
And yeah, all back.

Speaker 18 (01:19:08):
Yeah, so I was ninety seven referring to I couldn't
pronounce his name, so I didn't want to butcher it,
but I appreciate that.

Speaker 7 (01:19:14):
No, I gotta go and get some a bunch.

Speaker 18 (01:19:15):
He's like you said, he's like for his size, like
really long arms, he's pretty powerful.

Speaker 7 (01:19:20):
I think his key is how hard he plays and
how good he knows the game.

Speaker 18 (01:19:23):
He's on the backside of a play, like he's not
gonna stop runs games well, and he has more power
than you think. You know, he's probably like two ninety
or two eighty five, but he'll bring a bowl rush
as well.

Speaker 7 (01:19:33):
Joe, what what's the state of the run game right now?

Speaker 18 (01:19:36):
Hard to tell in the practice where you're not tackling.
I think a couple of times we've been live in
our camp and stuff like that, they've had some good things.
We know, the Eagles defense is, you know, a great
run stop in defense. They've done some really good things,
obviously super Bowl champs, but there are some good moments,
like we had some good pops and usually you know
it's run game, there's one play or that you know,
missus a block or something, and it looks bad. But

(01:19:57):
for the most part, I think it's it's coming along
and I think we're getting a good point.

Speaker 12 (01:20:00):
Is this a good couple of days to test that
out though, just because it is a different front, a
different defense.

Speaker 7 (01:20:05):
Than than what you guys need.

Speaker 18 (01:20:06):
Yeah, I mean there are three four base defense run
a lot of penny fronts and stuff like that. So
our defense is very four down or six to one,
and for us to get a chance to go get
someone else in some great players is a good good
time to test things out.

Speaker 15 (01:20:19):
What was sort of the the big takeaway when you
guys went back and looked at yesterday kind of brought it.
What did you feel like you needed to improve on?
What was the biggest kind of things?

Speaker 18 (01:20:29):
I think for us it was we had too many ms,
you know, we probably I think we had seventy some
plays and there's a lot of mas, and we were like, hey,
if we're not gonna even give ourselves a you know,
assignment correctly, we're not kind of a chance here. So
just playing a new defense, seeing a few looks that
we hadn't seen on film yet, and just understanding like, hey,
we can communicate up there and and find a way
to uh, you know, pick it up correctly.

Speaker 7 (01:20:50):
So did you not fack that later? Yeah?

Speaker 18 (01:20:54):
Yeah, no comment on that. Yeah, I thought it was
a gatorade, So that's what That's what I drank out there.

Speaker 16 (01:21:00):
So well, I know you didn't watch your guys defense much,
but you've gone against them. They had two of the
like pretty strong days creating Prutcher. I mean, what's it
been like going against them? And do you feel good
about that? You guys have held up against a pretty
good cunts all the training camp.

Speaker 18 (01:21:14):
Yeah, I mean our defensive line. We know it's gonna
be the strength of our defense, and you know, one
of the strengths of our team. Anytime it you know,
starts with Miles, it's a good thing. And then Malik
and Graham and all these guys, all the dns like
fighting for that spot. They're really pushing each other, I think,
to be the best. And so it's a tough group.
And the way they play is just a little bit

(01:21:34):
different than most teams. They penetrate there. You know, this
team will two gaps sometimes, they'll penetrate sometimes. So it's
a good challenge for anybody. But yeah, we've been going
against and we know we uh the guys that have
to walk miles and practically tell like show us the
effort because he beats a lot of guys, you know
what I mean. I think he saw it today, two
of the better tackles in the game, and he will
compete with those guys every play. So it's always a
good challenge for us if you'll have to stay.

Speaker 12 (01:21:55):
Of your career and you know you're sometimes out there,
sometimes not navigate.

Speaker 11 (01:22:00):
And then just kind of a regular season, how much
do you feel like you've mat you guys have mastered.

Speaker 5 (01:22:03):
Willing you with the team.

Speaker 12 (01:22:04):
How you get your body right so that you're you're
sort of sending the season stuff that you're not doing too.

Speaker 18 (01:22:09):
Yeah, we're in a good spot. You know, with these
preseason games you get a kind of like a little buffer.
So I went pretty much all the place the last
couple of days to really get that humid grind. You know,
at the end of practice the day you're like, oh man,
I'm you know, catch my breath out here. But it's
a good, good mix. I know in season we'll find
a way. I don't mind practicing. I enjoy practicing. It's
just we got seventeen games too, so it is it

(01:22:31):
is a mix that we have to try and you know,
figure out. So how big of a difference does it make.

Speaker 12 (01:22:35):
I mean last year left tackles were injured, they weren't
out there in the spring and summer. How much of
a difference does it make that you've been able to
have the wand out there and all spring, all summer
and really kind.

Speaker 7 (01:22:45):
Of get things together over there.

Speaker 18 (01:22:46):
Yeah, you hope, you know all season long you'll have
the same guy next year because that's who you're you've
been working with, and he's he's trying every day to
be the best person of himself.

Speaker 7 (01:22:55):
And there's tough days and there's good days. Especially with Miles.
You know.

Speaker 18 (01:23:00):
That he's out there battling. So so it's good though,
you know, because you want to work with double teams,
you want to work with communication. I thought today like
in our two minute period we had a couple of
twists pass offs that were really solid.

Speaker 7 (01:23:08):
So it's just taking those steps and continue to improve those.
What have you seen that on MA?

Speaker 2 (01:23:13):
How have you seen Mason get better?

Speaker 5 (01:23:15):
I mean now that you guys have started to really
good live.

Speaker 7 (01:23:18):
Yeah, he's explosive.

Speaker 18 (01:23:19):
I think his football IQ is like tremendous, you know
what I mean, Like he knows football and knows how
to make plays. I think it took him a couple
of weeks because he's a two gap shed guy in college,
and now he's penetrating and and uh, you know our
defense like say fsu and so he's learning that. But
from what I've seen and what I've gone against, I
got against Moliku most of the time because he mostly

(01:23:39):
plays over me.

Speaker 7 (01:23:41):
But I've seen some big improvements.

Speaker 18 (01:23:43):
I think his pass rush has improved, and his ability
to kind of wiggle out of blocks is pretty impressive
as well.

Speaker 16 (01:23:48):
So well, what about dwand and just playing Mexican as
much as you have. Where has heat grown in that
one type?

Speaker 5 (01:23:54):
That's time.

Speaker 7 (01:23:54):
Yeah, he's getting more comfortable.

Speaker 18 (01:23:55):
You know, I think naturally he feels like he's a
right tackle, but it's like, hey, with your position, you know,
we want you to try left, and he's he's developing there.
But it's really the growth of like really competitiveness and
fighting through tough plays. Like everybody knows they're gonna have
tough plays, but he's he's trying to grow as a
player in that sense where it's like he had a
bad play, we got to play the next play.

Speaker 7 (01:24:14):
It's a sixty seventy play a game. But he's doing
a good job in that.

Speaker 18 (01:24:17):
And I think this was a good test where you know,
it was hot, it was tough out here, new guys,
and he was really fighting through it.

Speaker 10 (01:24:24):
Joel, with all the quarterback injuries, it looks like it
might be shaping up to be Joel for the dress
rehearsal and for the week come and start. Based on
what you saw out here in these practices, how do
you feel about how the offense is shaping up potentially
with Joe as your chief.

Speaker 18 (01:24:40):
Yeah, we have faith in the room and the coach's decisions.
But you know, we've been around, you know Joe, and
he's done a great job for us. You know, let
us the play us a couple of years ago. So
we have all the faith in him. Obviously, we hope
all our quarterbacks aren't banged up kind of how it
is right now, but I think he's shown that he's
can leave this team and his poise and his confidence
in the huddle is what you'd expect from an eighteen

(01:25:01):
year vets So we have all the confidence the world
whoever they put out there. But you know, Joe's obviously
been the healthiest guy, and you know, kind of our
option right now.

Speaker 15 (01:25:09):
We've seen a lot of quarterbacks and a lot of
quarterback situations. I have seen it when quite like this
one in training camp where you're you haven't come in
with more and all the and suddenly there is still as.

Speaker 5 (01:25:19):
Scarce of eare.

Speaker 18 (01:25:20):
Yeah, no, I haven't. I was wondering what the record
is for like most quarterbacks on the roster at one point,
you know, with the Shawn and and Snoop, uh, you know,
getting up to six. So I was always I was
curious about that. But no, usually, you know, they don't
really get hit or anything. So usually the quarterbacks are
the healthiest in camp. You know, they're a tough day
out there, and it's like was it you know, but no,

(01:25:43):
It's definitely an interesting thing. But I think coach Tafanska
and the staff have really done a good job of
navigating it, trying to get guys reps and uh, you know,
when they're healthy, get them out there all right.

Speaker 2 (01:25:52):

presented by Ballely Bett Sportsbook, an official sports betting partner
of your Cleveland Browns. Please bet responsibly, all.

Speaker 2 (01:26:29):
Right, Tomorrow will be the walkthrough, and then Saturday at
one o'clock will be game time, Browns and Eagles. You're
not a betting man because it's against all of the
rules that you've signed and you're an employee of an
NFL team, But if you were, what do you think
Saturday will look like for us in terms of participation.

Speaker 5 (01:26:48):
Who I sure.

Speaker 13 (01:26:49):
Hope it looks like Dylan Gabriel starting at quarterback because
I think that is so key to the evaluation process
and development process that you want for that position. Beyond that,
I think it'll look very similar to what we saw
last week. I think that there could be some guys
that we saw last week that we don't see this week.
There could be a few guys that we didn't see
last week, younger players, guys still on rookie deals that

(01:27:10):
will be starters that you could see this week. Maybe
some veterans as well. So pretty much the same the
guys that you know you don't want to see, you
won't see.

Speaker 5 (01:27:19):
I can say that pretty confidently.

Speaker 13 (01:27:20):
And in terms of guys we want to see, and
in this case, you know, with the sad Or Sanders,
we won't see him, won't see Kenny Pickett. But we
man fingers crossed, hope that we get to see Dylan
Gabriel out.

Speaker 5 (01:27:30):
There, just because it's so.

Speaker 13 (01:27:33):
I think it's important for him to get those opportunities,
Andrew and you didn't have this quarterback competition to have
Snoop Huntley play an entire preseason.

Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
Especially and I love him.

Speaker 5 (01:27:43):
Yes, that's just the reality of it.

Speaker 3 (01:27:44):
Yeah, he had his moment last week and we thank
him for that, and I hope he gets an opportunity
somewhere else in the NFL this year where he deserves it. Yeah,
he can hopefully get on the field. But I need
to see Dylan Gabriel. Would love to see this team run.
The football effect to be in the first half as well.

Speaker 4 (01:28:02):
This week.

Speaker 3 (01:28:02):
I mean they went the Panthers kind of had waved
the white flag last week, got the ground game going
certainly the second half. Let's see some production of the
ground game at the first half. This week, regardless of
the cuping.

Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
What's the meal tonight?

Speaker 5 (01:28:14):
Boys?

Speaker 2 (01:28:15):
What are we doing?

Speaker 3 (01:28:16):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (01:28:16):
Yeah, kala? Which is the it's the tie place here
that it was James Beard nominated.

Speaker 2 (01:28:25):
Is this rice Yes?

Speaker 13 (01:28:27):
Yes, yes, yes, it is rice cake with goo and
the goo I've once I sent and went back and look, dude,
there gonna be some dumplings.

Speaker 5 (01:28:35):
Its place is unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (01:28:36):
But if I had a dollar for every time he
said rice cakes with ten dollars eight hours.

Speaker 5 (01:28:45):
Bread place.

Speaker 4 (01:28:45):
Because you're you're telling it to other people, not just me.
I'm heard it from across the.

Speaker 5 (01:28:48):
Bus and that's doubling the daily allotment. Well, ten dollars
from the top rope. Wow, you guys give me?

Speaker 13 (01:28:58):
Yeah, okay, next level is next.

Speaker 2 (01:29:02):
We're back tomorrow. Cleveland bro Daily, eight fifty ESPN Cleveland.
