Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is Week thirteen, the Jaguars visit the Tennessee Titans,
and it's time for our countdown to kick off interviews.
We start this week with Jaguars running backs coach Chad
Morton visiting with Brian Sexson.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
I mean, I love what I do. I love being
around these guys. You know, it's just fun being with
this group and just being out here and just try
to get them going a little bit. And you know,
if I want them to have energy and play hard,
then I have.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
To do it too.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
So I have to be you know, I have to
show that. And they're picking up on it and they're
doing the same as what I'm doing, So I love it.
Speaker 4 (00:29):
Listen, I know we're talking to a running backs coach today,
but this team has embraced this almost run first mentality.
How did that come about? You got a franchise quarterback
and a first round picket wide receiver. How long did
it take for this team to embrace that?
Speaker 2 (00:44):
I think pretty quick. I mean Liam talked about being
able to run the football here, and I think everybody
embraced that and they took on that challenge. And we
know we can throw the ball, but you know, at
the same time, we have to be able to run
the ball against these guys and keep the defense off
the field and be able to play action off of that.
So I mean it just all goes together. So it
all everything starts with a good foundation within the run
game and then just go from the pass from there
(01:04):
on out and try to score a lot of points
and try to win games.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
You obviously you have a run game coordinator here this
year that we've never had one in Jacksonville. How does
that work? We have offensive coordinator, offensive line coach, run
game coordinator, running backs coach. How much collaboration goes into
putting together a successful running game plan?
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Yeah? A lot.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
I mean it just goes through all the coaches. But
our guy starts at CLEE. He starts it, and then
you know, goes through the on line coach and all
the coordinators and position coaches. So it's just a collaborative process.
I mean it's working out well. We're doing well, and
he's doing a hell of a job and putting the
plan together and also detailing it up and presenting it.
So things are working out really well.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
There's so many layers to the Travis Etn story. Coming
off of a tough year in the fifth year option
playing running back. But from the moment that I saw
him at training camp, I said that dude is motivated.
Tell me about your introduction to him and what you've
seen from him. I think he's having a tremendous season.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Yeah, it's it's been great ever since, you know, just
first meeting him and then you know, through this whole
off season process and setting standards for him and goals
that I have that I had for him. He knows
what's at stake, you know, a new contract, all that,
showing what he can do, you know, from a down
year the previous year, so just kind of making up
for that. He's extremely talented, and just talking to him,
(02:16):
having like this big heart to heart with him and
just understanding, you know, looking at the pass of where
he was and where we need to get to, and
he's embraced it. And he's just been doing extremely well.
Listening to exactly what the coaches want him to do,
you know, straining, running, working hard. That was that was
basically the foundation of what we want him to do.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
And I never thought of him as a tough runner
between the tackles runner. I thought of him as sort
of a breakaway, make you miss. But this year he
has the mentality of Jerome Bettis.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
You know what's funny, I kind of saw I mean,
we talked about that too, I saw. I just saw
him as more of a downhill guy. I think he
just runs so hard that he braced a lot of tackles.
I never saw him miss, like he can make guys miss,
but I never saw that as a break you down,
shake you up, and then you know, accelerate. He's just
keep running. He's got a little fat, quick, little twitch
(03:05):
can make you miss. But I just I wanted him
to embrace that part of that run style that I
saw of just getting downhill. He's probably strong and a
lot of people think he is. And then it's been
working for him. He's been doing extremely well. Guys can't
tackle him, and the times that you know, maybe he's
struggled a little bit is when he tries to do
too much and not just run an attack. So that's
just a whole mindset we've been working on from day one,
(03:26):
and it's what's worked.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
Tell me about the two rookies in the room and
how you think he's led them and how you think
they've pushed him.
Speaker 5 (03:32):
He's a great leader.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
I'm extremely proud of him taking on that leadership role
with those guys. He's not a big, raw, raw guy,
but I want him to lead with you know how
by example. Love the two young guys, great, great attitudes.
You know, Basho coming in just scout work. You know,
just saw him a lot just through the off season,
obviously through the draft and stuff. And just know how
(03:54):
explosive he is. He runs hard, can break tackles, extremely
tough runner for a size. You know, you think a
guy that stature, but you know can only run straight
o he can break a lot of tackle. So and
then you, I mean, we're just so blessed to have
him just the way he protects on third down, does
everything right. He's just the sets the tone for the offense.
So I just can't be more pleased with those two.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
The coach said two weeks ago, he thought you were
one of the best running back coaches he has ever seen. Listen, right,
you're gonna get a lot of grief with other guys here.
Speaker 6 (04:23):
This.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
He said the same thing about rich and goulu as
a tight ends coach. And this staff appears to be
a really talented staff. You haven't quite been together a year.
What's the experience been like with the first time head
coach putting his staff together, and it appears like it's
going well.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Yeah, unbelievable staff. I mean, all those guys, I think
we just all worked really well. We gel together, we
lean on each other for stuff. They're all extremely smart.
Liam obviously did an outstanding job of finding all those guys,
and it's just it's been working and we just continue
to grow still can turn to learn, you know, to
learn each other. Yeah, it's just it's a blessing. It's
really a blessing because I've been some places where it's
(04:58):
not always like that. But all the guys are great defense,
special teams. Truly a blessing.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Pete Prisco of CBS Sports has a weekly conversation with
Mike Dempsey.
Speaker 7 (05:09):
Yeah, it's a tough situation. It's going to be a
challenge for him this week in large part you're playing
consecutive road games. You won one late, you over time
and that can tax you a little bit. Now you've
got to go back out on the road again and
with that big game loom in next week, so it's
going to be a challenge to get back up again,
and I think that's where Liam Cohene is a coach,
is going to have to really put on, you know,
one of those better coach and performances. Even though it's
(05:30):
the Titans. It sounds crazy, but house of horrors that's
happened in Nashville over the years A and B. The
situation is not great for them, in large part because
of all those things I just explained.
Speaker 8 (05:42):
Well and Pete Layton games. The Jags have shown resiliency, right,
They've also had their failures late in games, but they're
starting to believe I think that they can pull things
out late in the contest. How far can that belief
carry a team.
Speaker 7 (05:55):
Well, it's good to have it, and it's good to
see your quarterback do that after having you know, up
park performances at times during the regular part of the game.
But he's made plays in overtime. He's made plays in
the fourth quarter, and that's a good sign. But you
never want to be in that situation on a continual basis.
You want to try and beat teams, particularly if you're
playing a team like the Titans. You want to put
(06:16):
them away early, in large part because you don't want
them to be able to hang around, and when a
team like that hangs around, they start believing. So you
got to start putting teams way like they did against
the Chargers. Now that was more of a one off,
but still you want to try and do everything you
can not to be in that situation.
Speaker 8 (06:31):
And the Titans have hung around Pete the last three outings.
They've lost all of them, but by a combined sixteen points,
so they've been competitive. Probably the best player on that
roster is Jeffrey Simmons. How do the Jaguars try to
get a handle on him?
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Today?
Speaker 7 (06:44):
You mentioned it. I mean, he's clearly their best player
and at times has been dominant this year, and so
you got to handle him. If you want to run
the ball, you got to handle Jeffrey Simmons. And I
thought the interior of the offensive line has had a
couple of really good weeks. I think Cleveland being back
really impacts what they do up front. Haines he's been good.
And I think McCarry, after a little lull for about
(07:05):
you know, three or four games, has really played strong
in the last three games. So those guys, it's up
to them. They got to be able to handle him.
If you can block him, you're going to run the football,
and I think that's the key to moving the ball
on the ground this week against the Titans.
Speaker 8 (07:17):
Yeah, and while Breton Strange may not have a direct
impact on Jeffrey Simmons, he impacts the running game and
obviously the passing game as well. With the career best
ninety three yards led the Jags last week. Pete, just
how much more comfortable should Trevor Lawrence be just having
Strange as an outlet on the field.
Speaker 7 (07:32):
Well, I think it's great. It's not you know, it's
a as an outlet. B he can you know, create
after the catch and see he's you know, obviously one
of the best blocking tight ends in the league. And
he gives him almost like an extra tackle when he's
on the field. So missing him they definitely did. And
you know, Quentin Mars came in and did some good
things as a blocker and probably should have had a
touchdown the other day. So it gives them some flexibility
(07:54):
with that position. But Strange, there's no doubt, has emerged
as one of the top tight ends.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
In the league.
Speaker 8 (08:00):
Jags want to run the ball, Teams want to run
the ball to some degree, or another, but they've had
success recently after starting the season great in that category.
And we talked about controlling Jeffrey Simmons. A lot of
that has to do with the pass rush, but slowing
him down can be accomplished with the running game as well. Pete,
do you think the Jags will have a good chance
to get that going today?
Speaker 3 (08:19):
I do.
Speaker 7 (08:20):
I think you know, that's ideally. That's their formula is
to run the ball and then you know, throw off
of that run. They're not they don't want to be
run a pass happy team. That's just not what they
want to do. I mean they even when they had
all their weapons healthy and Travis Hunter was on the field.
The bottom line is they still want to run the football.
That's what Liam Cohen wants to do. That's the identity
of that team and they've done a pretty good job
(08:41):
with it in most of the games. And so, yeah,
can they do it? I think they can today. I
think obviously that's going to be the priority Number one
for Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 8 (08:49):
What have you seen from Titans rookie quarterback cam Ward
and what does he do best at this stage of
his NFL career.
Speaker 7 (08:55):
It creates you know, out of structure. I think he
does a good job of that. You know, in fairness
to him, he doesn't have a lot of weapons. The
running game isn't great, the offensive line isn't top notch,
and so he's had to be doing some things on
his own. He's getting better, you know. He made some
throws outside the pocket that you look at him and
go wow, you know, you guys can do that. But
(09:15):
he does leave clean pockets at times. He has a
tendency get out quick, but he's getting better and that's
something to keep an eye on in this game as well.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
Well.
Speaker 8 (09:23):
All that said, we understand the importance of this game
for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but we also understand Tennessee would
love nothing more than to spoil the jags recent two
game winning streak. Pizza, how do you see it going today, Mike?
Speaker 7 (09:34):
I think this is one of those be careful games,
and I think it's going to be close for a while.
I really do.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
I think it's.
Speaker 7 (09:39):
Natural because of who they're playing, how it falls on
the schedule, what's happening next week. But in the end,
I think Jackson's a better team. I think they'll find
a way to win.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
It late.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
For the third straight week, Spirodidas, Adam Rcialletta, and Aditi
Kikabala will have the call on the NFL on CBS.
I caught up with Archiletta earlier this week. Jaguars Titans
coming up in week thirteen and for the third consecutive week, Spirodidas,
Adam Marshalletta, A D. D. Kinkabwala. We've got arch again.
(10:09):
The Jaguars broadcast network is coming through Arch. The Jags
are now seven and four. What's up?
Speaker 5 (10:14):
Hey, glad glad to be back on it.
Speaker 9 (10:16):
And you know, it's always it's it's always interesting because
this happened to us last year. We had the Colts
three weeks in a row, and we knew we were
gonna get them three weeks in a row, and it's like, man,
can we just get another team? You know, and then
you end up it ends up being great games, and
so then you know, you look at it and you're like, well,
I was actually very glad that we had this game
(10:37):
against the Cardinals because that was excited because.
Speaker 5 (10:40):
The game of the week that was supposed to be
the game of the week.
Speaker 9 (10:43):
Really you look at Rams Tampa Bay and on paper,
You're like, man, that's the game I want to get.
But then that would have been miserable to call, right,
So as long as they as long as you guys
keep us entertained, I'll keep signing up.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
Oh there's certainly gonna be some entertainment value with the
Jaguars the way they're playing right now, and you know,
they're fighting, they're resilient, they're figuring out ways to win
these kind of games, which in the past around here
they haven't been able to do. So it may not
be the prettiest, but it doesn't have to be. There's
no ap pole here. So the Jags are in second
place in the game back, So let's let's get into
(11:17):
the offense first of all, right, Trevor Lawrence with the
four giveaways, three interceptions in the second half, but he
also throws three touchdown passes. Arch. You got the full
Trevor Lawrence experience last week.
Speaker 9 (11:29):
Yeah, we did, you know, And you know it was
interesting because there's there's just so many different highs and
lows with that game. And you know, he came out
made some some just some great throws to start the
second half. Now listen, one of them got got tipped,
and you know it's you want to blame a quarterback
for tip balls Klays Campbell six'. Eight you, know that
(11:50):
one it's hard to put On trevor and the other
one he threw To Buddha. Baker you, KNOW I i,
LISTEN i thought that was an all world play By.
Speaker 5 (11:59):
Baker it's really hard to Fault.
Speaker 9 (12:01):
Trevor you, know maybe he stared it, down but that
was that was really a great. Play the one he got.
Fooled the other one to the. Linebacker he got fooled
on that. Coverage but he's been. Aggressive and when we
talked To Liam cohen before this last, game you, know
if you go back to That charger, Game lawrence made
some of his best throws over the, middle and he
really felt that that was where he excelled and he
(12:23):
was decisive and he was. Confident you want your quarterback
to be able to rip those. Throws but, listen you
were able to overcome four giveaways on the road and still.
Win Like liam, said you know they're not going to
apologize for. That.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
YEAH i can't apologize for winning, results that's for, sure
especially in a place that hasn't had a lot of
them over the recent history, here what about the running
game and the dual threat ability At Travis etn scrimmage
yard totals continue to go up for. Him the run
game was a little. INCONSISTENT i, mean they got one
hundred and forty something rushing yards last, week which is.
(12:58):
GREAT a lot of that was early big chunk. Plays,
HOWEVER i Mean etn in a contract, year he's he's
handling his business so far he.
Speaker 5 (13:08):
Is, listen this is The National Football.
Speaker 9 (13:11):
League so you're not gonna come out and dominate a
team like you did against The chargers and expect that
every single. WEEK i, mean let's let's just be. Honest
it's not gonna. Happen but what you like about their run,
game and this is WHAT i appreciated About Liam. Cohen
it's a priority and the way they teach it and
their commitment to it and the way they're physical with.
It to, me that's gonna show, up and it's gonna
(13:34):
show up on. Tape even though you didn't have you know,
that big big day teams are gonna have to know
that when they come to play, you they're gonna have
to come and play that run and they can't just
sit their guys back stay in nickel personnel and think
that they're gonna be able to get off the. Field
as far AS etn, goes you, KNOW i really felt.
This we Had jacksonville maybe the second or third game this,
(13:56):
year and even early, on it seemed like a DIFFERENT
etn this. Year it seemed like he was running with more,
purpose seemed like he was running with more. Authority he
got off to the hot, start cooled off a little.
Bit but you, know he's always been that guy that
has big. Playability he's got tremendous. Speed but what he's
showing though this year is that he has a different
(14:17):
element to his. GAME i think when you look at
it from a numbers, perspective yards after, contact he's always
been twenties thirties as far as compared to other running
backs in the. League he's in the top ten right
now as far as his yack, ability and SO i
really like the way he's running the. Football he gives
you a lot to handle and really has added that
dimension to his.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
Game adam RCHLETTA nfl ON Cbs jaguars defense last week
got after it Without Trayvon walker on the field in
the pass rush. Game they brought some extra heat at,
times which they didn't really have to do the week before,
that and which was a little different two weeks. Ago
but they got back to the blitz a little. Bit
so they've got guys contributing on, defense but a little
(15:00):
deeper down the depth chart right. Now they're banged up
a little. Bit that's gotta be a good sign because
most of these injuries on defense are not season. Ending
they can have guys coming.
Speaker 9 (15:08):
Back it is listen to, me elite, defense top five,
defense really top ten. Defense it really starts with your.
FRONT i mean that's really. That if you don't have
guys up front that can generate, it it's really hard
to play high end defense week in and week. Out
AND i know the pass rush has been taking a
little bit of criticism in the middle part of the,
(15:30):
season but.
Speaker 5 (15:31):
It is starting to heat.
Speaker 9 (15:32):
Up you Know, john you know Heinz, allen he didn't
have high sacked, numbers but he was consistently getting. Pressure
Eric armstead has come. Alive you, know you get a
guy now inside that could push the. Pocket you, know
Even hamilton not not getting as much pass, rush but
his contribution in the run. Game you, Know trayvon and
his dual threat ability to stop the run and rush the.
Passer you, know that's really where it. Starts AND i
(15:54):
really Thought, campanelli you, know had a good. Game you,
know he doesn't love to, blitz but his his blitzes
were very well timed in that, game really in some key.
Areas you, Know Devin, LLOYD i think we looked at
it and probably didn't feature enough in that last, game
but he hit the quarterback five, times was you, know
on a number of. Sacks he was flying. Around you,
know he Had gardak making his his. Contribution and SO
(16:18):
i just think that when when you do have the
four up, front you got a guy that is a
game wrecord like Heinz, allen that's where it, starts and
then it. Comes it comes down to timing and calling
the right call at the right. Time and right now
that that pass, rush you, know starting to remind you
a little bit about the Old saxonville. DAYS i, mean
(16:38):
it's been pretty good the last couple of.
Speaker 5 (16:40):
Weeks, well well we'll.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
See if they can get to that. Point they got
a long way to go to get. There adam Marsh
letto with, us let's get a thought on The. TITANS i,
mean they're one in, ten it's an interim, coach number
one draft, pick overall draft, pick, quarterback injuries all over the.
Board what what? Gives what should Give titans fans? Hope move?
Ahead but even this season it's a lost. Season but
(17:03):
what is hope for The?
Speaker 10 (17:04):
Titans, yeah it's tough because, WELL i will say that
my Last titans game was the game that they came
back in the fourth.
Speaker 5 (17:15):
Quarter against The Arizona.
Speaker 9 (17:16):
Cardinals so you, KNOW i had a chance to see
them at their best and you started to see Cam
ward come alive a little bit and make some plays
down the. Field so that's the last IMPRESSION i have
of The Tennessee. Titans SO i know they're capable of.
It but, listen they've traded a lot of their players
away this. Year it's certainly a rebuilding. Year you got
an interim head. Coach it does SEEM i haven't really
(17:39):
turned on the tape. Yet i'm getting ready to get
into that study today and, tomorrow but it does seem
that Cam, ward you, know his numbers aren't, great but
it does seem like he's starting to make plays and
he's starting to have some of that creative playmaking ability
that you know why you drafted. Him so his ability
to scramble to make some throws down the field to
really be somebody that you have to account.
Speaker 5 (18:01):
For so that has to get you pretty.
Speaker 9 (18:03):
Excited they have a really good young punt returner that's
Rivaling Parker washington IN dk that's given him some good.
Stuff Jeffrey, simmons you, know has been consistently one of
the elite performers on, defense you, know his entire. Career
he's having an outstanding. Year but there's no doubt it's
it's a, lean lean year for The titans.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
Last.
Speaker 5 (18:25):
Year last week it was not as close as the score.
Speaker 9 (18:28):
Indicated but they have been in games late and so
this is a team that's certainly on the, road you
know For jacksonville coming off with two big, wins two
different style.
Speaker 5 (18:38):
WINS i don't think they can afford to Take tennessee.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Lightly, no they can't afford take anybody lightly moving ahead the.
Way this division is wrapping up right now and are
amping up as we have arrived At thanksgiving and looking
forward to. It arch always a. Pleasure Happy, thanksgiving And
i'm sure we'll have you again before the season's, open.
Speaker 9 (18:58):
That's a, possibility but you, know it's always always a great.
Time you, know my FIRST i believe that my first
TWO nfl games THAT i ever called were week six
or seventeen and, Eighteen AND i don't know if we
had eighteen weeks, day but, whatever the last two games this,
season and they Were jacksonville. Games SO i feel, like you,
(19:19):
Know i'm part Of i'm part of The jacksonville. Family
you got that jag ahead on your. Chest it feels,
like all, right appreciate you.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Man all.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Right Brian sexton in the locker room this, week caught
up With jaguars Linebacker Devin.
Speaker 11 (19:32):
Lloyd, yeah it's great to be playing meaningful games this
late in the. Season, obviously you, know our record is
still in a place where we can control our own.
Destiny we got to just handle business and that's exactly
where you want to. Be so we just got to keep.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
Going you, know a year, ago this was a team
that didn't win the close, games and it's. Flipped what's
the difference between last year and this.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Year, YEAH i think it.
Speaker 11 (19:52):
Just comes down to executing in critical, Moments guys being
detailed in their, Assignments obviously there's a collective belief that
goes into it as, well but ultimately it comes down
to who's gonna make the. Player you're gonna make the
play when it comes to, you and we've been doing
that this.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
YEAR a couple of weeks ago there was some critique
of the past rush from The texans. Game it's gotten, fixed,
RIGHT i mean the last two, weeks he's done a
lot of different. Things how much are you enjoying playing
For Anthony, campanelli his, style his creativity and his ability
to solve. Problems.
Speaker 11 (20:22):
Yeah, yeah he's doing a lot of good things all
across the, board you, know letting guys really just putting
guys in a position to have success all across the.
Board and it's really it's been fun so. Far it's been.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
FUN i know you're not one to talk about, yourself
but you're having a tremendous. Season did you see this?
Coming did you visualize this in the off?
Speaker 5 (20:43):
Season?
Speaker 11 (20:44):
Absolutely, yeah HONESTLY i visualize a lot. More but at
the same, time you, know still doing a lot of
good things for this team to help us, win and
that's all you can ask.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
For when you look around this locker, room there appears
to be an, energy not just for the SITUATIONS i
saw it even when you guys were in the middle
of that losing, skid an energy around this. Team where
does that come? From how do you build the sort
of camaraderie and togetherness in a locker? Room that's not.
Speaker 5 (21:07):
Easy.
Speaker 11 (21:08):
YEAH i think part of it is guys going out
and having success, together enjoying playing with each.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
Other and it's always fun when you.
Speaker 11 (21:15):
Win whenever you have success and you, win so that
that's part of the energy guys. Have you, know a
core group of guys have been together for a long time,
Too SO i think you know a lot of the
core guys set the foundation and you know their leaders
and they bring everybody else. Along but it really just
comes down, to you, know. Winning you, know it's fun
when you. Win you know it's fun when you know
(21:35):
you're working hard and you get rewarded on game.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
DAY i know you guys don't overlook anyone but the
fancy a one in Ten titans team with a rookie
quarterback and an interim head coach and, say, oh that's a.
Win how do you guard against that sort of overconfidence
as a.
Speaker 11 (21:49):
Player, YEAH i MEAN i think you just you look
at it from a realistic, perspective and we talked about
it in our linebacker, room and these guys are fighting
for their. Lives you, know it's one hundred grown men
fighting for their. Lives you, know these jobs are on the,
line careers are on the, line and so we know
we're going to get their best. Shot and, uh if
you take that, lightly you, know that's when bad things.
Happen so it's you, know you gotta respect the, game
(22:10):
you gotta respect your, opponent and that's what we're.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
Doing how about, This we'll finish with the idea of the.
Division now you got four your last six games inside the.
Division the league loves that kind of, drama but it
does give you the opportunity to control your own.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
Destiny.
Speaker 11 (22:23):
Absolutely, yeah you know seven four right, now we're in
a good, position not great. Position so we got to
Control we control our, Distney we got to handle our,
business and that's exactly where we want to, be you,
know with just a little bit of pressure on this
to have the right sense of, urgency also knowing that
if we handle our, business will be where we want to.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Be and, finally our weekly conversation with pride of The
jaguars running Back Fred. Taylor jaguars are seven and four
headed To, Nashville tennessee this, Week, fred and all of a,
sudden the division is back within. Reach The colts, loss
The jags are a gaming back and this is right
where The jags need to. Be this is a good.
Speaker 6 (23:01):
Spot LOOK, jp you just, said, man this is where
The jacks need to.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
Be you, know if they, wanted they gotta go take.
Speaker 6 (23:09):
It and it starts with beating the Pesky, titans a
team that's one in. Ten the teams that's playing, hard
they're just not you, know it's just not translating into two.
Wins they're a bad football, team quite, frankly and hopefully
The jaguars will keep them that. WAY i just wish
it was These titans THAT i had to face in
(23:31):
nineteen ninety nine as opposed to Those. Titans that makes
These titans more easier to, hate or not more, easier
that's Improper english or, grammar but easier to.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
Hate.
Speaker 6 (23:46):
Right so, Yeah So i'm hoping that The Jacksonville jaguars
go out there.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
And beat the living crap out of The Tennessee.
Speaker 6 (23:54):
Titans can that, Way i'll keep that EXCEPT i can
say THAT i think.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
You just, did AND i think it's, okay AND i
THINK i. Agree, actually you, know let's let's get to
The jaguars performance last week. QUICKLY i mean a resilient.
Group it's A cardinals team that played a lot of
close games this. Year they've got a lot of injuries and,
backups but it's the same kind of. IDEA i, mean
they played like they were trying.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
To win the.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
Game they were right there and The jaguars turned it
over a, bunch but the defense played big and key.
Moments but they you, know when it gets in the,
game somebody has to make plays down the, stretch and
The jaguars are able to make.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Just a few.
Speaker 6 (24:34):
More, Yeah jacksonville did what they needed to do to
pull that one. OUT a year, AGO i believe they
were three and ten and games decided by you, know
a touch a score, less And arizona reminds me of
last Year's jacksonville. TEAM i believe they're zero and six
in games that have been decided by a touchdown or.
(24:55):
Less but, again if you want to be good in
this league with the mark for, era the margin for,
victory and so then you have to find a way
to pull out these.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Games and here you have A.
Speaker 6 (25:08):
Jacksonville team that have gone to The West coast found
a way to win in two overtime. Games and you
know that's just you, know the, situationally just being. Prepared
it wasn't a beautiful, game but, again by all stretch
of our, imaginations they found a way to get creative
(25:28):
there at the back, end go down after giving up
a touchdown for a, score they were able to go
right back, down answer, score go take the, lead defend
that and pull out a victory to put themselves in
position to be a game behind The. COATS a few weeks,
ago we were cool With jacksonville finishing as one of
(25:50):
the top seven teams to make it to the. Playoffs
now here we are today, saying maybe This jacksonville, team
with two games against The, titans two games against the
divisional leader and The, coats they have a shot to
win a. Division no one was talking winning division a
few weeks ago because The coats were so far. Ahead
(26:10):
but if you just handle what you're supposed to, handle
the tips will fall in.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
Place as they.
Speaker 6 (26:15):
May now you're in a position where you go out
and win against The, titans and then you have another
two matchups against the divisional.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
Leader right, now you have a good shot to win
in the.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
Division Fred taylor with Us travis etn goes over one
hundred scrimmage yards again last week and just continues the
last few. Weeks he's been in the run game and pass,
game getting the job. Done and there's really been a
steady presence for this team this, year and that spells
good things for him in the, offseason right going into
(26:49):
his free. Agency but you, know what does it mean
for The jaguars down the stretch to at least have
that in their back.
Speaker 6 (26:55):
Pocket, well you, know on the first drive of the,
GAME i think he had sixty of that one hundred
plus and within two, PLAYS i know the forty five
yard SCAMPER i believe it was forty five, Right, yeah
in the fifteen yard. Touchdown it's just, steady, man you,
know just steady And travis understanding that this is his
(27:17):
free agent. Year he can do whatever he wants at
the end of the. Offseason BUT i believe in his
heart he wants to be In jacksonville and that potentially can.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
Happen but they're gonna have to pay. Him.
Speaker 6 (27:31):
Now you know a lot of people have written him,
off but he came back and, say, No i'm still that.
GUY i still can make plays and he's shown. That
and it's always good For jacksonville to have that type
of insurance policy and knowing that the heartbeat of our
offense right now has been the offensive lineman when they
(27:51):
protect a quarterback and when we run the.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
Football so you're gonna have to reward this.
Speaker 6 (27:57):
Guy he continues to play this, Way trevor has to
play better in all stretch of the. Imagination, again we
would Want trevor to certainly play much, better but For Travis,
man he just has to stay, steady continue to have
that confidence in himself where he could just you, KNOW
(28:20):
i think he's not playing with. Pressure before he was
playing under, pressure the expectations were high for. Himself now
it's just let's just go out there and play in
whatever happens is going to. Happen and keeping that mindset
that's been better for the offense or the team as a.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
Whole Fred taylor with.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
Us have you talked to Cam Ward titans?
Speaker 6 (28:45):
Quarterback, NO i, haven't But i've collected a few of
his rookie cards so hopefully SOMEDAY i get an opportunity
to talk to him so he can put a signature
on it for. Me other than, THAT i don't really. Care,
NO i, Mean cam is. AMAZING i haven't had opportunity
to meet. HIM i saw how great he was last
year against My gators in the slump first game of the.
(29:09):
Year he put on a show and he continued to
carry over that with that type of performance throughout the,
season thus leading to being the number one selection overall
selection in THE Nfl. Draft such a great, talent a
guy who's, Firing he's, passionate and the seea sorta leadership
he's displayed as a rookie in demanding the sense of
(29:31):
urgency from his, team hating to. Lose just that mindset
means he's gonna be great down the.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
Road they just got to put the pieces around.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
Him and from The jaguars defensive, perspective, today you've gotta
smother this. TEAM i mean this is they are banged
up outside of. Him offensive line skill guys are. Hurt
this is one where The jaguars defense needs to go
put up a big time.
Speaker 6 (29:56):
Performance, yeah and they've shown some signs of being able
to get pressure with four down and not always having
the bits you know they're gonna. HAVE i think they're
gonna come up with a different package this. Game you
have a rookie, quarterback you, know and usually traditionally defensive
coordinators just want to create havoc and get after the,
(30:18):
quarterbacks make them make, mistakes AND i think you'll see
some different, disguises a bit more sexier looks from the,
defense and certainly a lot more pressures than we've seen
the past three. Weeks so got to smother, them gotta
get after. Them but it starts with stopping the. Run
if you can start to stop the, run make them one,
(30:39):
dimensional force the quarterback to throw to the receivers that
he ain't, got then you put yourself in position to
go win the.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Game for tillall this was finished with your Favorite thanksgiving,
Meal like what do you? Like what's your food? Option
what's the number one go to in terms of a?
Protein and then a? Side oh, MAN, JP.
Speaker 6 (31:06):

Speaker 3 (31:10):
Wings, No i'm just.
Speaker 6 (31:14):
Kidding thanksgiving for me had always been a, turkey like
a fried, Turkey but now you Know i've been trying
to do a bit, more you, know not just GOING
O d on the. Turkey, uh turkey is a, staple
but like a little cornish hen you injected with all
the occasion seasonings and some, garlic and you, know.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
You either fried or bake.
Speaker 6 (31:35):
IT i like when my wife put together the slow
cooker and just you, know create some different stuff in that.
Thing but the size really is what gets you excited
in years. Past this, Year i'm a little bit more
hesitant Because i'm trying to wash my you, know my my.
Sexiness you know What i'm, saying too sexy for myself
(31:57):
type mood right. Now BUT i still like mac and.
Cheese i'm gonna devour the colar, greens sweet. Potato i'm
gonna tear up some sweet potato. Pie i'm not necessarily
a pumpkin pie. GUY i know that can be a
little confusing for a lot of, people but sweet potato
pie is a little, sweeter a little. Tastier pumpkin pie
(32:19):
is a little bit more on the spicier. Side BUT
i like the sweetness and the sweet, potato a little
brown sugar up in, there you.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
Know so.
Speaker 6 (32:29):
Mac and cheese is a musk colic greens is a,
musk and we'll settle for like cornish hen this year
and probably do a few, steaks a couple of.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
Rivis just switch it. Up, man it ain't all about the.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
Turkey it's poor, turkeys. Man THEY i, mean they build
up all year long just to get slaughtered one.
Speaker 3 (32:47):
Week it's.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Amazing it is.
Speaker 6 (32:50):
Amazing, yeah and it's kind of like during The Super,
bowl you wonder where all these wings come, From like
where do all these turkeys come? From you got a
year to reach in the turkey, Population, like get the
turkeys a, break eat some corners hen or maybe some you,
(33:11):
know some. BEEF i see more cattle and, beef just,
roaming you, know just roaming the land down the. HIGHWAY
i don't never see, turkeys but Yet thanksgiving pulls up
and then the turkeys pull. UP i don't get, It
like what the turkey's be hindh THAT i think they?
Speaker 1 (33:33):
THEY i don't. KNOW i don't have an answer for.
That ALL i know is THAT i love it. All
and you know, What, fred you can cheat one day
and eat all. THAT i think you're in good enough
shape to do.
Speaker 6 (33:43):
THAT i, Mean i'm gonna get my, protein so. Turkey
you know you're, Somewhere you're on the. List it's just
that it's Not the turkey isn't priority this. Year But
i'm gonna have some. Turkey i'm gonna have some. Chicken
i'm gonna have some, steak some.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
Beef you.
Speaker 6 (33:59):
Know SO i don't eat. Fish it'll kill, me So i'm.
Allergic so BUT i can't eat, shellfish which is. Weird,
yeah but outline some stuff. Up i'll eat enough to
get lazy and, sleepy watch some, football and get lazy
and sleepy.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
Again eat. More That's, thanksgiving, Man.
