Speaker 1 (00:03):
The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com
and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
This is Cowboys Storyline with Nick Eatman.

Speaker 4 (00:20):
What is up? Welcome to Cowboys Storyline. I'm Nick Eatman.
It is Friday, April twenty fifth, and we've had the
first round of the NFL Draft already here. It was fun,
it was long, certainly, what do you think you like it?
You hate it? Not sexy enough? That seems like that's

(00:41):
the word we hear a lot when you drafted offensive lineman.
You know how I feel. I love it. I was
talking about the offensive line for what last few weeks.
I just feel like it makes you better, quicker. And
you know, Tyler Bookers that it was the pick. You

(01:02):
guys all saw it and we'll talk about it here.
But you know, it's like if you play fantasy football,
which I do, and I kind of have a thing
like I like to be the first one to draft
a position tied in what you know, defense, whatever, it
is like, all right, I'm gonna get I'm gonna get it.

(01:24):
I'm gonna get the best one. And that's kind of
what I think. It's definitely what the Cowboys did. You know,
with with guard, it was a need obviously because they
lost Zack Martin, so it wasn't just you need a player,
but you need a special player and that's what this
team has been used to, and so that's what they're
hoping they're getting. And Tyler Brooker, we're gonna have to

(01:44):
just call him Booker. It's unbelievable all the Tylers that
they've drafted here, Tyler Smith, Tyler Goiton, Tyler Piottish a
few years back. So Tyler Brooker, we're trying to call
him booker. Right guard looks like he's he's gonna be
penciled in as the starter day one, and that's what
you do when you draft the guy twelfth. Overall, I
like to pick a lot and I think it is

(02:06):
symbolizes what they're trying to do, what Broughton, Brian Schottenheimer's
trying to do running the football. So all right, we'll
talk about that. I know we already have callers on
the line. It's gonna be a busy show. Hopefully you
guys got the word that we're doing it, not just
this this part talking draft and then also what they
might do tonight second and third round. But we also

(02:28):
have the announcement. We figured this would be a good
time to announce the all storyline squad from twenty twenty
four twenty five. Got about thirty five forty names to
throw out there. It's been fun. First, second, third team,
got some honorable mentions, got some other awards and announcements

(02:50):
that we'll make there too, So we're excited about that.
We'll do that a little bit later in the show. Okay,
let's start us off. Let's go to the phone lines.
We've got Irene and falls Church Virginia. Irene, what's up, hey,
good morning.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
Shout out to you for accurately predicting the pick in
your final mock.

Speaker 6 (03:05):
Good job, I did.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
I did wonder. I don't know if you can answer
this or not, but you said Michael Williams in the
interview with Ambar, and I'm wondering if that was you
doing a smoke screen thing or was their genuine interest
there too.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
I think that there's interest there. I was always interested
in a pass rusher. Kind of just got caught off guard.
It was just trying to name some people. But yeah,
I wanted different different names to be thrown out there.
But you know, I wasn't. I wasn't one hundred percent
sure until you know, nobody's a hundred percent sure of anything.
But I knew that they liked the you know that

(03:42):
they wanted offensive line, but you know, I didn't know.
I think like Membo from Missouri Campbell LSU, those guys
were probably rated higher because they have more position flex.
But you know, when it got right down to this
this spot, it's like, well, let's just take the guard.
And that's what he is. He's like the guard. So yeah,

(04:04):
I mean all of it was kind of smoke screen,
but I was just kind of throw out names there.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
It's good there, cool, well, good for you, yeah, so
so for me. I mean it's obviously like a boring
but same pick. But I'm thinking about like those proverbial
socks for Christmas. Right, So you look at the socks,
at least the not anklet socks that are then or
something neither. It's like thermal hiking gear. It's going to
support your hobby of hiking. Right, This is going to

(04:31):
support the running game and hopefully protect Dak from injury, right.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
Right, right right.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
The cool news is that they're like tons of great
names still left at wide receiver, running back, and quarterback.
So I know he met Jerry mentioned some trades. Maybe
something lines up there too that takes up one of
those slots. But there's great names out there, so I'm
kind of excited for pick forty four.

Speaker 7 (04:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
And then one last thing, just because I promised Joe
from New Jersey if I got on the show would
shout him out.

Speaker 8 (05:00):
He's huge, family.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
Works and he's having trouble calling hands, so I totally do.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
That, all right, Joe from New Jersey From New Jersey,
all right, well, thank you so much, Irene, thanks for
the call. We will we will be uh mentioning your name.
I will just say that later on in the show
when we get to announce the all storyline team. All right, I,

(05:27):
you know, going back to the pick again and uh,
you know with with the booker and and and other
other players that they had. You know, I was told
they had thirteen first round grades. I was told that
yesterday and then now it's gone down to twelve. So
with no first rounders still on the board, that's interesting

(05:50):
to me because twenty four hours ago I was told
a different number and a player on the board that
is still on the board. That they like at least,
you know, if as the first round grade, maybe his
grade has been changed. I don't know. I don't know
how that that happens. But my point is I think

(06:12):
that there's some players still left on the board that
the Cowboys would be very, very interested in getting here
at forty four and maybe and I don't know this,
I'm just speculating because I've seen it before, maybe even
to the point of trading up to get But you know,
we have seen it, and I say that it's been

(06:32):
what eleven years de Marcus Lawrence was the guy that
I remember that they moved up into the first round
to get, which is interesting because we're talking about drafting
Zach Martin. You know, that was what eleven years ago,
twenty fourteen, and here's bookers very similar in their grades
and all that. Well, then in the second day of

(06:53):
that draft, they actually traded their third and their second
to move up high into the second round to get
to Marcus Lawrence. Do that today, I doubt it, but
but they could. You know, they could do that, could
move move up if there's a player that they want.
I would think it would be a skilled player offense
or a receiver or a running back, because I do

(07:14):
think they're still looking for that type of guy. All right,
let's go to William in West Virginia. William is next.

Speaker 7 (07:20):
What's up, Nick? How we doing so good?

Speaker 9 (07:22):
Man?

Speaker 7 (07:23):
How are you doing good?

Speaker 10 (07:24):
How about the og for the leadoff guy?

Speaker 4 (07:27):
There you go.

Speaker 7 (07:29):
I just I just want.

Speaker 10 (07:30):
To say, first of all, since you're doing really good predicting,
I got some lottery numbers. I'd like to get these
if you can, so I can maybe catch that in.

Speaker 7 (07:39):
But well, have you seen second late?

Speaker 4 (07:41):
Have you seen the second round pick? Have you seen
my my seven round mock?

Speaker 9 (07:45):
And who the second I have?

Speaker 6 (07:46):
I have?

Speaker 10 (07:47):
I was I was going to comment as a matter
of I hope you're right about at least one other player,
Hugh Robinson from Alabama. I said, Man, we are on
the same wavelength. I hope, I hope you're really. At
first last night, I was, like everybody else, kind of
disappointed we didn't get Tet. But you know, considering the
fact after I thought about it and all the defensive

(08:08):
lines we have to face in the division, really Booker
was a no brainer and I'm glad they made the
same pick.

Speaker 7 (08:13):
Well, if you get.

Speaker 10 (08:14):
The top player at any individual position.

Speaker 11 (08:17):
I don't think it's ever a bad.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Thing, right right, I mean you're not drafting the kicker early.
But but yeah, I mean a position that you're playing
all the time. And you're right, I mean that that
was a factor, that was a factor in of who
that who they face, what the Eagles have on the
defensive line, what Washington has, what the Giants have, you know,
I mean it's it's that's what this division has turned into.

(08:39):
So you have to match it. And and that's I thought.
I thought, you know, looking at it that way was
a really smart way to do it.

Speaker 10 (08:48):
Yeah, but I like, I like your seven round, malk
And I tell you what, I hope you're right about
a lot of especially Q. But I know if I
got a lot of other people wanting to get through.
But great show was always keep up the good work
and I'll catch you on the next time.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
Thank you so much. William. That's in Beaver West, Virginia.
William my man, all right, he's been he's been with
us from way back when it was Tuesday night at
the ranch with me and Mickey, those early days of
the break, when Derek and I did when it was
called the lunch break, way back when. All right, let's

(09:20):
go to Ronnie in New Jersey. Ronnie, what's up?

Speaker 6 (09:23):
This was a great pick, Nick like it was. I
love it.

Speaker 7 (09:28):
I love it.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
Listen the other day we were talking and you asked me,
you put me on the spot. You were like, hey,
what do you want them to do? And I said, prefer
offensive lineman or defensive lineman?

Speaker 7 (09:38):
Yes.

Speaker 6 (09:38):
And I was watching the press. I saw the press
conference when Jerry Jones and all of them were speaking,
and it almost seemed like Steven Jones if you saw
their faces when Jerry Jones started talking about back in
the day when we you know, it was the offensive
line that did this. It was the offensive line that
did that. And I was like, oh man, he's giving

(09:58):
it away.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
Yeah, yeah, they but yeah, they always cringe when Jerry
starts talking to those prey No one likes those pre
draft press conferences because nothing is really getting said at
all unless Jerry goes on like a tangent there, and
which sometimes he can go down that road.

Speaker 6 (10:21):
Yeah, and for everybody that's uh, you know, I know
a lot of people are gonna call, They're gonna try
and complain, Hey we needed a receiver. Hey you can
still get a receiver in the second round, a third round,
second round probably most likely. Hey they could even trade
for a receiver. But you need to fit your offensive
line and defensive line because right now we look at

(10:44):
the defense, look at the conference, and look at the division.
Forget about the conference, look at the division. Everybody's great
in the interior. You gotta fix your interior. You gotta
fix your offensive line before you could be a contender to.

Speaker 7 (10:57):
Even win the division.

Speaker 6 (10:59):
So this, this was a great building block, and I
hope they continue and and hopefully somewhere in the draft
where a trade they get a nose tackle because we
really need to stop the run. Also, so so competition
for MASSI or or an upgrade.

Speaker 11 (11:15):
Well, yeah, this is a.

Speaker 6 (11:16):
Great I am, it was a great pick. I loved it.
Make thanks for taking my code, Make go Cowboys, and yeah,
this this is how you do it.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
Nice, This is how we do it. You know, if
you know, you know that's that's my favorite song of
all time Montel Jordan's. So that's right. And when when
it comes to the Cowboys drafting offensive lineman, especially if
their name is Tyler, this is certainly how the Cowboys
do it, all right, let's get to Chris. I think

(11:51):
I'm gonna I'm gonna change it up a little bit.
I'm gonna pivot a little bit. We're gonna do the
Cowboys storyline team. I'm not gonna do all of them,
but I'm going to kind of do this as the
show goes on, I'm going to kind of progress. And
the reason why I'm making this change is we've got
we got about so we got thirty three spots for

(12:15):
a second third team, and then I have some other
other like I don't know, exceptions that I'm making exception spots.
And I felt like we had to have an international team,
an international aspect of it, because we do have some
callers that call in on a regular basis, I think overseas,

(12:39):
so we want to kind of honor them as well.
We know it's difficult to do that or even if
it's not overseas, just out of the country. I felt
like there was three names that we should put on there.
They should be on the team. Not only do they call,
but they you know, they it's a little bit harder
for them. And of those three people, and Chris with me, Chris,

(13:02):
can you talking here? Yeah? Hey, can the callers on
the line. Do they hear this, they hear me talking
or do I have to get them on the line.
They do, Okay, so I want to say this, so
we do have one of the callers. That's why I
made I made a change. So the three international spots
for the All Storyline squad would be Mike in Birmingham, England.

(13:25):
We have Zach in Germany, and Armando from Mexico City
is also one of our members of the All Storyline Team.
And Armando is on the line. Armando, what's up, hey, Nick?
How are you good? How are you doing?

Speaker 12 (13:45):
I'm so happy to hear about the storyline team.

Speaker 7 (13:48):
Thank you very much.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
You're welcome. You're welcome. Well, thank you, you're I think
you're one of the funniest people I've ever talked to
on here. And I don't even know if you know that,
but it's just funny to me. I don't know why.
I don't know why it is, but anyways, uh so,
how you.

Speaker 12 (14:06):
Yeah, you told me that before. I really appreciate it.

Speaker 9 (14:10):
Thank you, y, thank you, Nick.

Speaker 12 (14:12):
I really appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
You're You're welcome. You're welcome.

Speaker 12 (14:16):
It's an honor to be a part of this community.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Yeah, well it's fun. And I'm so glad that you
know that we we created a couple of years ago.
And and and as I said, you know, it's it's
the callers that make the callers make the show. We
can't do it without without you guys, trust me, it
does not work. And you know the fact that you
guys are so loyal and it's so hard to call in. Uh,
you know, I hate that for y'all, but it is.

(14:40):
It's a great aspect, uh for us. So I will say, uh,
congratulations on that. I felt like we needed to under that.
And it's not like it was. You guys are bypassing
a lot of other people that call a lot. You
guys are right there. I just feel like I wanted
to honor y'all three for for and you're not the
only three. There's others that that call. But y'all y'all

(15:01):
three for sure. Uh So Zach in Germany, Mike in England,
and Armando from Mexico City. Armando, So what do you
think about the pick? Did you like it?

Speaker 13 (15:12):
Uh?

Speaker 12 (15:13):
Well, actually yeah, actually I did. As I told you before,
my favorite was a gent but once he was of
the world, Yeah, I really like this pic because I really,
I really think a lot of like you do that well,
you have to build the trenches, and if not, everything
else is just superfluous, you know. So I really liked

(15:36):
I really liked the pick, and I want to congratulate
you because only you and I needn't actually called it correctly,
so you're not only having a great memory, but all
scenario I.

Speaker 7 (15:46):
Were here also the future.

Speaker 12 (15:48):
Yeah, congratulated, well, thank you so much.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
And uh yeah, I don't know how I feel about
sharing that with Nate because as the story I think,
as a story he goes. I think Bean kind of
gave it to him and he was like, yeah, here, here
take a pick. You like offensive lineman. I think it
went down like that. Now Nate's always going to say that.
Nate's like, get me offensive lineman, offensive lineman, you know.

(16:13):
So I don't know if for sure if he was
he just wanted an offensive lineman, but the one that
would make sense for where they were picking was was Booker.
And so it's fine, you know what if I'm sharing
that pick with the one of the greatest offensive lineman
to ever played for the Cowboys and play that position guard, yeah,
I'll take that all day. If it's me and Nate

(16:35):
love it, love it. But but no, it's I. You know,
I love the pick. I really do. And I think
I think just because he comes in and he starts tomorrow,
I mean, he's that's that's what it is. There's no,
there's no question about that. And I think that's what
this team needs for sure when you think about having
you know that, just the line, you know, looking the

(16:55):
way it does in the middle, it's pretty exciting.

Speaker 12 (16:57):
So yeah, because I don't remember the last time the
cow was actually picked the very best one on that
position that particular year. Yeah, and this is the best
guard for sure on this draft. So I really like it.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
Yeah, I did too, for sure. All right, Armando, thank
you so much. Appreciate that, and uh, we will. I
guess this is a good time to kind of throw
out what we're doing with the Cowboys break after the break.

Speaker 14 (17:26):
Yeah, let's do it out the break because I got
something for you for that.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
Okay, all right, can we do that? Yeah? Yeah for sure, So,
uh hang tight on that. But you're on the team, Armando.
Uh that I've announced three so far. Armando from Mexico City,
zach In Germany, Mike from England. Those are our in
our international members that make the team. And we're also
going to have first, second and third teams captains, honorable mentions.

(17:52):
We're gonna throw some some of that stuff out there
as well. One more point I was gonna make about
the line and those three guys in the middle, is
Tyler Smith just turned twenty four years old just earlier
this month, like in April. It's twenty four, so one
of the one of the only only think only two
players in NFL history guards that have been All Pro

(18:15):
before twice before they even turn twenty four years old.
That's that's pretty impressive. Uh So twenty four years years
old for Tyler Smith is you know, entering his fourth year,
and you've got Cooper Beebe who's twenty I think he's
twenty three, and then Tyler Brooker's twenty one. So you
got you got these guys in the middle that they

(18:36):
should be here for a long time. So that's that's
an exciting thing too. Kind of building the house from
from within that that protects your quarterback, helps your running game.
Got to get those tackles to play to play well,
for sure. But I really like what they're doing there
in the middle, so uh, definitely love the pick. All right,
let's go, uh, let's go to break real quick. I

(19:00):
think we're gonna go to break. Bean wants me to
go to break real quick. Go to break. Come right
back after this, we're going to continue talking about the
draft and talking about the all storyline squad. Be right back.

This segment is presented by YETI. Officially licensed YETI Cowboys
gear is now available at Stadium pro Shops, Concession and
on yeti dot com. Okay, well, there's a reason why
we wanted to make sure this segment was brought to
you by YETI because this year's all storyline squad is

(21:11):
presented by YETI as well. And I'll say this for
the people on the teams on the first, second, third teams,
the captains and all that they are getting and not
doing T shirts this year, they are getting this officially
licensed YETI Cowboys Storyline edition about that that had been there.
We got blue and black. I mean this thing, I

(21:35):
mean with the handle and everything. I mean, this thing
will last like all day long. Seriously, I have we
have these these yettish My wife says, she swears by them.
She puts ice in them in the morning. There's it's
still still there, like all day long. I love it
Cowboys storyline. And so earlier on when you all did

(21:55):
the community spaces, was it Wednesday night? I got on
there just for a little bit, just to announce that
we're doing the show and announcing the team, and Dylan said,
can you give me a MP participper? He said, can
you give me a hint of like what it is?
Like what are we doing this year? And I was like, well,
you can't wear your T shirt every day, but you
can use these just about every day as well. I

(22:18):
didn't tell them exactly what it is, but everyone one
that's on the team, first, second, third, and the international
squad gonna be getting one of these. I get. I
think if you're if you're on the first team, you
get to pick. I'll give you a chance to pick
blue or black. After that, man, it's probably just going
to be like boom, you get what you get, right,
That's what they teach you in elementary school. Get what

(22:40):
you get, don't throw a fit. That's what my kids
tell me. That what they hear.

Speaker 7 (22:43):
All right.

Speaker 4 (22:44):
But everyone that that's already gotten one, Chris Beam, Josh Rodriguez,
they're like, it's it's a tough call. I mean which one?
I mean they're both really awesome, So you can't really
go wrong with that, all right, So let's let's go
back to we got callers on the line, so let's
go to the phone line or Brian from Kansas City. Brian,

(23:06):
what's up man.

Speaker 17 (23:07):
Good morning, sir, how are you. I'm doing great. I'm
so happy we got an offensive lineman. Yeah, I want
you know, you know, I kept saying I was, I
was hoping for maybe Simmons, and then you know, my
backup plan was, Hey, if we had to bail out,
I'd hope for Grant. Well, you know, last night I
hear Wolchuck say that Simmons has character issues. I had

(23:33):
never heard that at any point in the build up
to the draft, just just had never heard that, you know,
heard about his knee, his knee issue. But Booker, you know,
as it turns out, is the exact opposite of a
character concerned. He's a captain, he's you know, he's everything
you want in a football player on your team. And

(23:57):
what's been our problem apparently the last couple of years,
maybe some of our guys don't love football as a
way of life, and that is not true for Booker.
Booker loves football.

Speaker 4 (24:10):
Yeah, he loves football, and he loves when people that
play against him don't love football anymore. I don't know,
have you seen that clip?

Speaker 17 (24:19):
I have not sir, go ahead, and so me in.
I'll let you go and continue on with the show.
Great prediction on that. Love talking to you this morning,
and go Cowboys, sir, Thank.

Speaker 4 (24:30):
You, Thank you. Brian for sure, Brian from Kansas City.
And he says that he's not on social media as much,
so I actually I actually sent him a message, send
him an email, make sure. I wanted him to be
able to know that this show was going on today
and you know, we're I felt like today was the
good day to do it. We got the product in
I wanted to. I needed to find another show to

(24:53):
do this. Obviously, it's the draft. I want you guys
to talk about the draft. So it's kind of a
mess here as far as when we're announcing things. I
got guys and ladies that have called that are on
the team. We know this, so there's no there's no
you know, denying that we know that you guys are
on the team. I want to announce it a little
bit later, so you know, I don't think there's any

(25:16):
secret there. Brian from Kansas City is going to be
on the all storyline team, so uh, you know, we
would get these callers in. We're gonna just stay tuned.
We'll do it here later on in the show. But
when when Armando called from Mexico, he doesn't call all
the time. When he called, I thought it was fitting.
I definitely wanted to get that in there. There won't
be nobody surprised about that with Brian going in there

(25:37):
and some of the others. Okay, what he said though
about Tyler Booker and how he loves football, there's no
doubt about it. Now on the pot that he did
a podcast, christ you might have to help me with this.
There was a podcast. Was it bleacher Report?

Speaker 14 (25:51):
It was the bleacher Report Gridiron podcast. Mike was on there.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
Now Mike is on here. Now the video is better, obviously.

Speaker 14 (25:58):
Yes, it's better. Mikeah Park, you'll hear it.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
So there's a panel three or four people, Mike is
one of them, and they're talking to Tyler Booker and
and he gets asked a question about his love for
football and his answer, I'll just let you hear it.
But the guy that goes nuts is Michael Parsons. Okay,
I'm just I'm just gonna spoiler alert. Micah Parsons is
the one that reacts to this. But this is the

(26:23):
type of player that you're that he's the cowboy you're
getting into this locker room just to take a listen.

Speaker 18 (26:30):
You had one of my favorite quotes of the entire
draft process.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
You said, quote, I make guys not love football anymore.

Speaker 9 (26:38):
What does it feel like.

Speaker 6 (26:39):
To see the love of football leave someone's eyes?

Speaker 19 (26:43):
It feels great, you know, like to like football is
a is a child is a child's game. So like
people wake up be like, man, I can't wait to
play this football game today. They listen their hype music,
they take all the pre workout, they get so excited
to play football until they come across Tyler Booker. And
then when I'm going after you quote after quurt to
play after play series after series, and I started to
see that love leave their eyes. Like that's what makes

(27:05):
me love the game, Like I just.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
Play right now.

Speaker 13 (27:23):
Got me.

Speaker 14 (27:26):
To play quarter quarter.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
The last part obviously, Michael Parts is there. Welcome to
the team. I don't even know some of the other
guys that were on there, but Micah ready to go
dominated that and that you know, obviously the answer was
from Tyler Booker. But you know that's that's the kind
of player that you know, hopefully you got to do that,
but you know, cleanly, whistle to whistle and all that.

(27:53):
But but you know, it reminded me of Eric Williams
made people not love to play football. I'm sure Garry
Allen did as well. So in and you know, there's
something to be said for for just dominating the line
of scrimmage and just being better. Your technique is better,
your strength is better. And when you have an offensive

(28:13):
lineman that has great technique and then you put in
the aspect that he's got the power, the awareness, you know,
and then and then the desire to get better and better,
that's that's when you have an all pro lineman. Now,
he's not the only guard that's ever been drafted in
the top fifteen in the NFL. I mean, there's there's

(28:35):
some others that you know, he's going to have to
do the work, but it does sound like he's ready
to do that. And you know, I think that's who's
coming in today. He's flying in with it with his family.
He'll have a press conference today that'll be live on
our website probably I think it's around three three thirty
Central time. But you know, and remember Tyler Geitens last year,

(28:57):
same same thing. Very you know it was. He won
the press conference for sure, didn't have his best rookie year.
So you know today's stuff that they don't mean everything,
but it is you know, he is saying the right
things and and you know you add that to the
tape and all that, it is pretty exciting for sure.
All right, let's go to Michael and Bowling Green Uh,

(29:18):
Kentucky's been on the line. Michael, what's up?

Speaker 7 (29:20):
Man?

Speaker 18 (29:21):
That was the best quote, wasn't it great?

Speaker 11 (29:24):
That was awesome?

Speaker 18 (29:25):
I'm sitting there listening to him.

Speaker 20 (29:26):
I was on home.

Speaker 18 (29:29):
So Nick, how's the work life balance going?

Speaker 6 (29:31):
You good?

Speaker 4 (29:33):
It's it's always going to be. It's always gonna be
like touch and go. Why why why are you ask.

Speaker 18 (29:40):
Just just checking on you and checking you good? They
say on that one show, checking your mentals and dentals.

Speaker 21 (29:47):
I guess, well, you know.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
I bet you know. I've got I've got kids going
you know, to getting ready for kindergarten and college, okay,
and then and then some in between. So they'll just
give you that like it's it's an ever every day thing.

Speaker 18 (30:00):
So with me, I got a kid. It's almost thirty
and I got a kid. It's not too yet, know, okay,
and I got him in between, I got I got
not too a kindergartener, a twenty seven year old or
a twenty six year old to twenty eight year old.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
Sign Well, do you know what else? You know what
else you have? Michael? What You're gonna have one of these?
You're gonna have one of these storyline yetties. I don't
even know if you can. If you're you can watch
and at the same time time people listen. Some people
can watch and listen. But you're gonna have one of
these yetties because you're gonna be on the team for sure.
I'll announce it later where you are exactly. But uh uh,

(30:41):
congratulations for that because you you definitely are a guy
that calls us a lot and has good insight and
good opinions and good attitude and all that. So we
appreciate that. But what what did you think? Obviously you
love the quote you like to pick.

Speaker 18 (30:57):
Okay, I'm gonna tell you this. I trust the process,
I trust the professionals in that room. I trust you
because you said yesterday somebody called and you said, well,
you know, it's it's time, you know, to replace you know,
got two guys who are gone got to reload now

(31:18):
I did. I saw like on I think it's called
Inside the Star. It's on the Cowboys news thing. They
said we had the second worst draft day. But I
just don't.

Speaker 4 (31:28):
I don't.

Speaker 11 (31:30):
I'm not with that.

Speaker 18 (31:31):
I believe. I believe that they are going to do
really well tonight. Yeah, and so I mean, I'm not
that they're talking about maybe a couple of trades. Uh,
you know, I don't know, but uh, I think it's
a good pick. I think they're going to make up
you know, today and Saturday. I think it's gonna be

(31:53):
all right.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
Yeah, Well, I think that's crazy. I don't know how
people can. I think, like grading a raft in general
is always kind of dumb to me, you know, doing
doing that. Uh, Michael, thank you, thank you for the call.
Appreciate that we're going to keep it moving here. But
but I always think it's weird when people do that.
Make great, But but grading a day, like grading the
first day, I mean, that's just that's that's basically like saying,

(32:17):
all right, you know, after a football game, like all right,
the first quarter is over, let's grade the performance here,
Like let's just keep playing the game and then we'll
see what happens. And that's kind of what what things are.
You know, you're grading off of one pick. But the Cowboys,
you know, have said that they want to run the football.
Brian shot number says he wants to run the football.
And so we had a press conference that they announced

(32:40):
the retirement of Zach Martin and then they drafted his
replacement that I don't know how that would be considered
a bad thing. I mean, this was a guy that
was a staple in their team for over a decade
and now they're they're getting a guy that does the
same thing that they shouldn't should not have to worry about.
So I think it's I think it's a great pick.

(33:01):
You know, you know how I feel about it. But
all right, they didn't ask me, but but I still
think I think it is And you know, I just
think it's a it's it's a position that that you
can get your football team better in a hurry. So
all right, let's go to uh, Chris and Saratoga Springs,
New York. Chris. What's up, man?

Speaker 9 (33:19):
Hey, Nick, good call on that pick the other day.

Speaker 7 (33:21):
You called it.

Speaker 4 (33:22):
I appreciate it. Thank you. We'll see if we can
get get some others here and the rest of the draft. Yeah,
we'll see.

Speaker 9 (33:30):
I would have went in a different direction, to be
honest with you, because you know me, I called it.
We talked about brock Hoffman and how how much I
liked him. Yeah, and I think I think we needed
a tackle, and if it was my pick with the
three tackles that went off the board, I would have
went with the defensive tackle from Ole Myths, to be
honest that that would have been my pick. I know
they were like going back and forth between the two.

(33:51):
I love the pick, I love the character, I love
the dog in him, I love everything about the guard.
I just think for us the tackle was was a
little bit more pressing for me, So I probably would
have went with the defensive tackle.

Speaker 7 (34:06):
But I don't hate it.

Speaker 9 (34:07):
I love I mean, we have to have a good
offensive line and that's what starts with the running game
and everything that the shot he wants to do. Yeah,
I just I don't know. With the tackle's gone, I
thought for sure where you were going to go defensive
tackle there?

Speaker 4 (34:21):
Yeah, Well, and it was close, it was. It was
definitely down to the wire on that win. I think
those were the two guys I believe when the when
when the Cowboys were on the clock at twelve. I
I'm not sure how many first round grades they had left,
but three for sure that were there were Tyler Booker,
of course, Walter Nolan, who you're you're referring to, and

(34:44):
then also Schamar Stewart from Texas A and m Those
three for sure were on the on the board that
they had first round grades on. And Stuart's name wasn't
really mentioned a whole lot, but but definitely Walter Nolan was.
And I really think, honestly, Chris, I think it came

(35:04):
down to character, character concerns, character issues. You can. You know,
I don't like to lump these guys in together because
because they went to the same school and all that.
But I mean, you know, Sam Williams an Ole Miss guy,
but he was kind of like that, you know, he
had some of that, but that that's the second round,
second round, and we know that Jerry loves doing that.

(35:25):
But in the first round, you know, you've you've got
to be uh, you've got to check almost every single box.
And I think that was somewhat the knock on on Nolan.
But you know, and you're right though, he's a plug
and play. I mean, that's a guy that probably comes
right in and plays immediately. But it's a little different

(35:46):
on the defensive line with the way they rotate. But
I you know, just think at the end of the day,
more boxes were checked, with Booker now.

Speaker 21 (35:53):
Nailed the first round pick. Who's your pick for the
second round?

Speaker 4 (35:56):
My second round pick still on the board is a
quinnch On Judkins from Ohio State.

Speaker 9 (36:03):
That's right who I want that. That's exactly what I
think they should get.

Speaker 4 (36:06):
Which Ohio state? Do you like that? You like him
better than Henderson? I think they. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (36:12):
I'm I'm an Ohio State fan.

Speaker 9 (36:13):
I'm I'm in Ohio right now visiting my buddy for.

Speaker 4 (36:16):
The draft, Okay, and oh yeah, yeah, yeah, that's right.

Speaker 7 (36:18):
Yep.

Speaker 9 (36:19):
We're huge Ohio State fans. And I would pick Judkins
all day. He's a He's a bigger, stronger back. Henderson
goes down a lot on you know, first hits. He is,
he's faster, but I like the guy that can that
is fast. It could also not go down in the
first hit as much, so I would pick Judkins over Henderson.
That's just personal opinion. Again, I'm an Ohio State junkie.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
Well that's that's the type of guy we need to
talk to then. I mean, because like honestly, I could
tell you about Arkansas players. There's actually be a lot
of them. But I mean, like I watch every game
just like you watch every game Ohio State, so you
you you know the guys that that are good and
and and especially with when you're talking about two backs
like that that they they both play and they're both good,

(37:03):
you know. I mean, there's there's a lot of State
guys obviously, it's almost like they won the national championship
or something like that. There's just so many of them.

Speaker 9 (37:13):
Four in the first round to have two at least
two in the second, maybe three.

Speaker 4 (37:17):
And I know, and I know you don't want to
say it, but that other school that gets you know,
lumped in there with you guys a lot. They have
a lot of good players too. You know, Michigan had
had a has a ton of players in the first
round as well, So definitely to two teams. I mean,

(37:38):
you know Texas had some as well. You can go
down down the list, but it's you know, Michigan and
Ohio State, Like you could tell you know that that
rivalry is fierce because they're putting guys in the league.
It's it's always a tough game and and then whoever
wins the game, it doesn't necessarily mean your season's over
like it used to. That was definitely clear this year.

(37:59):
Ye all right, thank you, Chris. Y'all, y'all be safe
and have fun. I know you said you and your
buddies were hanging out watching the draft and all that
good stuff. You know, everybody everybody thinks of it differently.
You know, like some people just like that, just tell me,
I don't really care to watch the draft, Just tell
me who the players are. And some people are just
they got the EyeBlack on, they're ready to go. Uh.

(38:21):
It's just a really big deal. And and credit the
NFL for making it that way. Where where you know,
we're in the middle of playoffs for the NBA and
and the you know, NHL baseball, just the first month
for baseball, so still people are still somewhat excited there
because nobody's really out of the pennant race yet and
all that stuff. And get the NFL Draft right there,

(38:42):
you know, dominating the headlines. Uh, that that's a that's impressive.
It really is that they've been able to do that,
and you know, it's a lot of fun. It really is.
All right, let's keep let's keep it going here. Uh,
we got Lester from Minnesota. Lester, what's up?

Speaker 17 (38:57):
Hey?

Speaker 21 (38:58):
Look you horning man morning?

Speaker 4 (39:00):
How are you doing?

Speaker 21 (39:01):
Look like round our way? The offensive and defensive line.
I love it.

Speaker 4 (39:06):
I bet you DoD, I bet you do. Yeah.

Speaker 21 (39:09):
And then I also love the quote, man, I'm ready
to suit up and put on my corner back uniform.

Speaker 7 (39:16):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (39:17):
Yeah, that was that was impressive. I mean, you know
Micah to get Micah rolled up like that ready to go,
you know, obviously you know that's his teammate, but you
know that that that was that was exciting, and you
know that that's really important offense defensive guys. I don't
know how much he'll be facing him. You know, Michael

(39:38):
could rush from anywhere, so I'm sure that there'll be times.
But those guys make each other better in practice, and
that's how how your team gets better. So the competition
like that, we heard d Ware talking about it with
Tyr Tyron Smith and vice versa and all that, So
I love that that back and forth between the guys
on the offensive line and defensive line.

Speaker 21 (39:58):
Yeah, no doubt doubt. Hey, I think now we should
go for a receiver and then running back. I know
I always talk about the defensive line, but uh, you know,
maybe we could trade for one or I don't know
how good of a one we can get if we
don't get a fourth round pick in the fifth round.

(40:19):
I don't know, but but whatever. Man, Hey, I'm excited.

Speaker 4 (40:22):
Yeah, yeah, well you should be. I'm excited about it.
I mean, it's just it's it's one of those things
where you know, yeah, it may not Jersey sales might
not go through the roof and all that all that stuff,
but you might with your running back, whoever that is
behind him, whoever that running back is. Ye, his Jersey
sales are gonna go through the roof because he's gonna

(40:43):
run the football.

Speaker 7 (40:44):
You know.

Speaker 4 (40:44):
You know, this reminds me of and I don't know
how far you go back as far as Cowboy you
know how much you were watching way back when or whatever,
but this reminds me. Okay, okay, seventy seven. So yeah,
you're you're gonna you're gonna remember this. And guys, I'm
not trying to say shot is going to be Jason Garrett. Okay,
I'm not saying that. What I'm saying is is when
Jason Garrett's first draft twenty and eleven, he basically he

(41:09):
was one of the reasons that Jerry finally was convinced,
all right, we need to take lineman in the first round.
Hadn't done it in thirty years. They took Tyron Smith. Well,
then in the third round they got DeMarco Murray and
then they started, you know, building that line a little bit.
And I could see some building blocks like that as well.
You know, just you've already got some pieces already at

(41:31):
the old line. You got another one in Booker. Maybe
now it's time to draft a running back or receiver
or whatever. But I think this forty fourth pick is
going to be a skilled player. I really do. I
think it's going to be a receiver or runner.

Speaker 21 (41:44):
But I think we got a lot of running back
still on the board. I think we could still get
a quality back in the third round. I would go
for a receiver next, I really would, because we need
someone opposite of CD, and we're really building that found
I was talking about offense defensive line, so we're good.

Speaker 4 (42:03):
We're good, Nick, We're good.

Speaker 12 (42:05):
All right to go.

Speaker 4 (42:06):
I love it, all right, appreciate that. Leicester from Minnesota. Uh, Leicester,
you know we'll stay tuned for the show. I definitely
want you you'd be paying attention here as we announce
our our all storyline team. Uh kind of came in late,
you know, like you had didn't really make any calls
for a while. Then Boom jumped in there, and Uh,

(42:29):
definitely a guy that that that calls a lot and
has has a lot of the different opinions, but also
has a tagline. You know, we know your tagline too.
You didn't even say it this time, but I think
we know it. Until the Cowboys are getting consistent offensive
line and defensive line at the same time, that's when
they're gonna be good. And you know, when you look
at that first pick Booker Nolan, I mean they were

(42:50):
right there, as Jerry says they were. They were right there,
hanging on the rim. When it comes to that tagline,
they were it was offensive line or defensive line as well.
All right, Chris, I want to take a break. I
want to take I want to take my last break here,
and then after that we're gonna be able to just
kind of roll through, uh and get this thing going
with the storyline team. So Chris, let's take a break

(43:11):
here on Cowboys storyline. We'll be right back after.

Let's go to Anthony and Miami. Anthony, what's up the quick?

Speaker 7 (45:42):
What's up, my guy?

Speaker 4 (45:43):
How are you doing?

Speaker 7 (45:45):
I'm doing good. I look the look of the draw today, baby.
But look, if you're gonna do the storyline, team, I'm
gonna go ahead to forfeit.

Speaker 6 (45:51):
Man.

Speaker 7 (45:52):
I want you to go ahead to do this. You
know what I'm saying. I'll forfeit the call and I'll
call back next week.

Speaker 4 (45:57):
You're on the team, Anthony, You're on the team. Uh,
there's no doubt about that. And uh so, yeah, I
wanted I want.

Speaker 7 (46:07):
I want a black one. Okay, you know me, Nick,
I'm not gonna stop. I'm never gonna stop.

Speaker 22 (46:18):
Man.

Speaker 7 (46:19):
But I think you're thinking, Man, I'm listening, I'm watching.
I'm watching.

Speaker 4 (46:22):
I'm a big TV all right, Anthony, thank you appreciate that.
All right, Well, let's let's keep it moving. I never
thought I would say this like that. It's been a while,
but it feels like it has been a while since
we've gone to Vegas and uh, listen to Robin Vegas.
Rob I was starting to get a little worried about you.

Speaker 23 (46:42):
No, Nick, you know how to take a little vacation good,
you know, gear up, gear up for the new season.

Speaker 4 (46:50):
Where are people that live in Vegas go on vacations?
I mean, if I mean I I would think like
a Montana or something like that, just really just off
the grid. Like sorry for Montana's being off the grid,
but I'm just saying, you know, quiet, a quiet, cozy place.

Speaker 22 (47:04):
I don't know, Yes, that's you know.

Speaker 23 (47:06):
I do the off roading thing, the rock crawling.

Speaker 13 (47:10):
So I go to Utah, all right, so that not
too far?

Speaker 23 (47:13):
That's yeah, not too far. So that's what I'm into.
So my wife went away for a week on business,
so I took a week off. My cousin came in
from New York and reacted like we were single.

Speaker 10 (47:25):
Whoa wow, Well not flully, but you know, vating.

Speaker 23 (47:31):
Yeah, we had a good time. It was it was fun,
you know. And plus, honestly, I'm not a draft guy.
I don't follow college football like that, and talking about
the draft is like talking about the weather.

Speaker 7 (47:42):
You know.

Speaker 23 (47:42):
It's like we're just trying to predict stuff. So now
that we have concrete, you know, information, I'm okay, with
the pick as long.

Speaker 6 (47:55):
Let's put this way.

Speaker 23 (47:56):
I'm a car guy, and now I look at it
as they got the wheels, they got the suspension, and
now they need the engine. And if you look at
all the great offensive lines that this team has had,
they always had a great running back. You just can't
throw anybody back there as great as the old line
for Philadelphia was the difference maker with Sakua.

Speaker 9 (48:16):
Sure, so we now.

Speaker 23 (48:18):
Need to go get a running back. And I don't
want to part time running back. I want a full
time running back that only comes out when he needs
a break, that could take it to the house from anywhere.
I think we don't have enough guys that could put
the ball in the end zone. And they have to
get a second wide receiver that matters, someone that the

(48:41):
defense actually looks at and says, hey, we got to
worry about this guy, because it will make everybody better.
As great as CD is, it will make him better,
it will make Ferguson better. And to me, that's what
they got to do, and we'll see what happens. They
have the opportunity to do it in round two, so
that's what they need. You know, you need an offensive line.

(49:04):
Excuse me, but now you got to surround it with plays.

Speaker 7 (49:07):
You got it.

Speaker 23 (49:07):
We need some playmakers. We do not have enough playmakers.
We only have one on the offense and and we
need more. So let's see what happens. But yeah, I
have no problem. I have no problem with the guards.
You lost a Hall of Famer and you needed to
fill this by the Hoffman. I like Hoffman. Yeah, but
he's he's the guy that must be pissed if anybody.

Speaker 4 (49:30):
Probably yeah, he's probably pissed. But you know, and not
just him, I mean they they've they've signed some other
guards here in free agency. Rob Jones is one, and
but I mean that's it is what it is. I mean, like,
you know, you there's a reason free agency goes first.
You know, you do that. With free agency, you tried
to fill some some needs, but there weren't anybody that

(49:52):
you're like, Okay, we're good here. We don't need to get,
you know, an elite player, because if they were elite,
they wouldn't be free agents, and in my opinion, they wouldn't.
They wouldn't be Uh. There's only just a very very
small handful of players that are ever elite that gets
the free agency, and I know.

Speaker 23 (50:08):
The fans wanted, you know, maybe to get a tackle,
but this team is not going to give up on
a first round pick after one season. Yeah, you know, Dyton. Yeah,
technically we always say this, he should be better next year.
You know he's going to be He's surrounded now, he's
got he knows what the NFL is about. He's going

(50:29):
to be surrounded by great trainers. Hopefully he's lifting weights
and getting stronger and getting more in shape. He should
be better. So and BB should be better and still
did play better when Hoffmann was in and I don't
know if that's because he was trying to help that.

Speaker 7 (50:47):
Who knows.

Speaker 23 (50:48):
So they should be better. So we'll see what happened.
But just give me some juice now.

Speaker 7 (50:54):
You know.

Speaker 4 (50:54):
I'm totally with you on that. I think I think
you'll get that juice today. We're gonna keep it rolling.
But I will say this, I know you're a big
hockey guy with you with your Vegas team as well.
I don't know if they're in the playoffs. I don't
know anything about that, but they don't look like Okay,
I got it. I'm with you there. Hey, here in Dallas,
I know that thinking can go is sometimes you can

(51:16):
look good can look bad. I'll say this from a
hockey reference. There's a difference between those guys that are
skating around with just the number and the logo and
the ones that have the sea on there as well.
So the sea means a little something else. We'll get
to that later on in the show. You might have
to share it this year, if that's okay, but we'll

(51:38):
talk about it. We'll talk about it here in a
little bit. I want to keep it rolling, all right,
do we have? Thank you so much, Rob Robin Vegas,
he's the man. All all right, let's keep it going here.
We got Albert in Tucson, Arizona.

Speaker 20 (51:52):
Albert, my man, what's going on?

Speaker 4 (51:55):
Not much? How are you?

Speaker 20 (51:57):
You know it's been a while. I'm sorry. I try
to call couple of times to get in. But you
know you're you're famous guy. Man.

Speaker 4 (52:04):
I don't know about that. I'm about famous. But at
the show is becomeing, becoming very popular, and I'm so
excited about that. And uh and and hey, you're a guy,
you're a guy that calls you. You don't maybe call
all the time, but you definitely call when you can
and you call enough I'll say that, and I appreciate that,
and we're going to get to get to this all

(52:25):
storyline team here within the next few minutes. But I
want to get your thoughts, Albert, what you think about
the game. I mean, I'm sorry the game felt like
a game. Do what you think about about the draft pick?

Speaker 20 (52:35):
You know, honestly, I think it's a great pick, not
only from a football standpoint, but a character standpoint. You know,
this guy is big on character. You can actually uh
see it from you know, the draft when his name
was announced to him walking to meet Goodell, I actually

(52:59):
got motivated from this guy. And you know, this is
where I think this is gonna help us out. I
know we're not gonna get this big, big running back
or this big name runny back, because I think they're
gone already from the draft. Yeah, but Booker helps out
to where we've had a CD Lamb and Turpin out

(53:25):
of the backfield, a big chunk plays and I think
you know they've had there were eight yards, fifteen yards,
thirteen yards, twenty two yards I think was the longest
one and out the backfield. Okay, these are wide receivers.
I think this solidifies that that front, and we're gonna
we're gonna be ballid okay, And I'm excited.

Speaker 4 (53:49):
Yeah, I mean, I'm with you. I think it's a
it's an exciting pick. It may not be an exciting
type of position, but it's an exciting pick because of what,
like you're saying, what it could open up for the
other people. I mean, your offensive line is good. It
makes everybody else better around you as well. So totally
agree with that. All right, Albert, appreciate the call. Stays

(54:12):
keep watching. Though we're gonna your name will probably be
announced here in just a little bit. I think we
can go ahead and get to that. I keep alluding
to it. We're getting calls in here, but I you know,
I definitely I knew there was gonna be this type
of show where there's a lot going on here. We
want to talk about the draft. Of course, not only
what happened last night, but what could happen tonight, but

(54:33):
what I did feel like this would be a good
time where we could throw in the all storyline team. Chris,
were you about to say anything? You good?

Speaker 14 (54:43):
No, I'm good, Go ahead over there, got one guy on.
But it's fine.

Speaker 4 (54:46):
We're good there. All right, Well, his name will probably
be mentioned here. It's I'm probably right. Okay, So we're
gonna take a little We're gonna not gonna take a break,
but we're gonna stop the calls for a second so
I can go through this. All right. We already mentioned three,
but let me let me start off to anytime we'll
do an all storyline team. We're gonna have our honorary members,
the ones that that that are always gonna be a

(55:07):
part of it just because I get to pick it,
and and the and they're they're important. Let's start with
our producer, Chris Bean. He's the best. He's the best.
There's there's no there's no doubt about it. He's not
only the best for this show, but he does. This
is just one of like eight that he does, and
he cares as much about all of them like he
does for this one. But if he didn't care about

(55:29):
this show, wouldn't have it, wouldn't have ever, you know,
gotten off the ground. So he knows how much I
appreciate that. That's what I'm talking about. And he's definitely
gonna get one of these. If not, he can, he
can have three. If he wants whatever. Also, the guy's
working right there with him, h Josh Rodriguez. He does
a great, great job. I know he's he's listening. He

(55:49):
gets us on the air, gets us going, and he
holds us all accountable, you know, time, deadlines, times, let's
go get it. I love it. It's what we need.
He does a great job, and I really appreciate all
the stuff that that he does. All right, personally for
me though, you know, my mom she watches every show.
Camille Schultz and her husband Rob, they watch every show.
Love it. My dad, Doctor Sunshine, he's the creator of

(56:11):
this show. He watches every single show. Tim Eatman, he's
watching right now. He's always gonna be on the team,
my wife Julie Jacob. You know, he's been on the
show a little bit. He gets to be on the
team if he can rink, if he can hold this thing.
And then also I got to give a shout out
to Derek Eagleton of course for just allowing this, allowing
him to leave his show that we were on for

(56:32):
nineteen years there at the break and to start this one.
He's been very supportive as well, so we appreciate that.
All right. Let's also go. We got some honorable mentions.
Gotta throw some honorable mentions out there as well. People
that have done you know that maybe they don't call
all the time, couldn't get to everybody in but they
still we really want to appreciate. We appreciate them, and

(56:53):
we want to make sure and honor them. Chris from
Saratoga Springs, he had just called a little bit. He's
probably one of those. It's gonna get on there next year,
just the way he's been calling. But Chris from Saratoga
Springs is on their tamera from Des Moines, Iowa, al
for Merkele, Texas, Curtis from Oklahoma, Eric from North Carolina,

(57:14):
and Jeremy from Salt Lake City. Wanted to get them
on there as well. From an honorable mentioned standpoint, all right,
got three teams, first, second, third team. And you know
it's not basketball, this is football. So I was like,
the team has eleven. You have eleven on the football team,
so you're gonna have eleven on each team, first, second,

(57:36):
and third team. So let's start us off third team.
Everybody on these teams can get one of these. I
think I'll let the first teamers pick if they want
the blue or black. After that, you're just gonna We'll
just get your address and get it on there. That's
another thing. At the end of the show. We'll have
the text line, Chris. Can you throw the text line
number up there so that people can text their address

(57:58):
in if they haven't already, they can text it to
to the I mean on the text line to Chris
so he can have it so we can get it
together and get these things stream.

Speaker 14 (58:09):
On the stream so it's on the bottom of the
st string.

Speaker 4 (58:11):
Got it all right, Let's go Third teamers. The guys
that made it on the third team All storyline Squad
snuck in there here at the end. Uh. Daveyon from Illinois,
my may had made it. I know. He was a
guy that calls a lot on the or they do
a lot of the stuff with the community spaces. Timing wise,
it was hard for him to get in, but he

(58:32):
did there. He picked it up there at the end.
He's got a lot of good opinions, a lot of fun.
Daveyon from Illinois makes it. Albert from Tucson, we just
talked to you. You're on there. You made it. Bruce
from Houston didn't call as much of this time. I
think it was first teamer last year. But still he calls,
calls when he can appreciate that. Bruce from Houston, he's

(58:52):
on there. How about Jonathan from Fullerton, California. Jonathan, Uh,
he calls a few times there. Greg from Sacramento. I
got to meet him last year at Auxnard. He was there,
and I know you guys are playing a trip to Oxnard.
That should be a lot of fun. Greg lives in Sacramento.
That's not that's not exactly close to aug Nard. Who
was there, got a chance to talk to him. I

(59:13):
believe his son there as well. Greg from from Sacramento,
also on the third team. Tim Winston Salem, North Carolina.
I haven't heard from him in a little bit. We'd
love to hear from him soon. Tim from Winston Salem,
North Carolina. He makes it Erwin from Denver, Colorado or Irwin.
He's been on the team before. He's always always good,

(59:34):
always a good caller in there as well. So that
is that is, and we got a few more here.
Steve from New York always has a good trivia questions.
I think he sent a message that he'd be listening.
Steve from New York Jeremy from Washington, d C. He's
on the team. And then you know Pete from Connecticut.

(59:55):
He's got to be on the third team because he's
the only person that's ever called three times in one show.
We call three, Pete called, and so he's called a
few times a lot of them from that one day,
Pete from Connecticut. I'd have someone from Connecticut that is
our third team as well. Remember, the people that are
on these teams can get these awesome cowboys storyline tumblers.

(01:00:16):
Come in the blue or the black, keeps your drink
cold or hot, whatever you want it, all day long.
All right, speaking of all day long, we got these
second second team callers here, let's get it right to it.
How about Sebastian from Savannah, Georgia. Sebastian, he's always calling

(01:00:36):
with bringing energy for sure. Gary from New Mexico, always
trying to stump me with these trivia questions. Haven't heard
from him in a little bit. I'm ready, I'm ready
for some more trivia questions at a Gary from New Mexico.
All right. Chuck D from Bridge City, Texas. Chuck D's
on the list for sure, all right. He used to

(01:00:57):
be called David from Fort Worth. But now Sergeant Sue
David always Sergeant Sue, whatever you want to call it.
He's probably in the gym right now. He may not
be listening, but but David, he's on the squad as well.
All right. I don't know where he is at the moment, Carolina, though,
Carolina he'll be. He's probably somewhere in Texas there honking

(01:01:18):
the horn. He's the guy that called a lot later
on but still called a lot. Probably he spells like
first team or next year, by the by the how
much he calls and is in on this show. Let's
go to how about Champ in Nebraska. He's making it
here on the second team. We've got Josh from Chicago, Illinois.

(01:01:41):
We've got Chris from San Angelo, Texas making the team
there on the second team. A couple more here second teamers,
Bob from Rio Grand Valley, Texas, and Gavin from Oklahoma City.
Those guys call a lot, bring great in energy, great opinions.

(01:02:02):
We appreciate them as well. Can't have the show without
you guys. I hate saying that first team, second team,
but you know that's the way it is in sports.
Still very remember now there's three hundred people that call
this show, three hundred people that called this last year,
and five hundred people that have called over of the
first two years. That that's that's amazing to me to
think that. So when when you break it down that

(01:02:23):
way and we're breaking this into like about thirty five
to forty people, it's still you guys are are the
best of the best. So we really appreciate that. All right,
let's go to our first team and Chris, do we
have callers on the line. We have one caller on
the line. We got two.

Speaker 14 (01:02:40):
I just got another one, but we got the one caller.

Speaker 4 (01:02:42):
That one caller for sure? Can you type that type
the end the callers here?

Speaker 14 (01:02:46):
One should be on funny.

Speaker 4 (01:02:48):
Yeah, he's on the team. He's on the team, so
I definitely want to get to him here in a second.
All right, let's go with our first team, first team,
all storyline this year. Go those two Leicester from Minnesota. Lester,
we just talked to you a little bit. He's excited,

(01:03:08):
got offensive line. Uh he's he's one that that called
a lot here later on, got his got his way
on there, snuck onto that first team for sure. So uh, Lester,
good stuff. Also for the second straight year. First teamer
is Ronnie from New Jersey. Ronnie called also today. He's
excited about the pick. Just steady, you know about every

(01:03:29):
other show, seems like you're gonna get that call. Rodney
from New Jersey, great stuff. We really appreciate you as well.
How about Rick in Western Massachusetts? Rick, what's up? Man?
Always always calling in. He's got some good stats for me.
Uh he started. I remember training camp, but we had
we had a little trouble with your phone for a while.

(01:03:49):
Got that phone fixed. Now it's good to go. How
about Lewis from Langston, Oklahoma. Lewis makes the list as well.
Good stuff from from him. Called a lot new job,
ended up not calling as much, but still did enough
to get on their first teamer as well. All right.
Michael from Bowling Green, Kentucky also called on this show. Michael,

(01:04:12):
you're on. I think a second year in a row
for you. Might have been a second teamer last year,
but we added it up a little bit. Michael made
it for sure. So let's recap. So far, we've got
Lester from Minnesota, Rowndnie from New Jersey, Michael from Bowling Green, Kentucky,
Rick from Massachusetts. Lewis from Langston, Oklahoma. All right, let's
keep it going here for the first teamers, We've got

(01:04:34):
Ali Ali from Florida. I don't know where he is
right now, he's probably off on assignment. We were able
to give your your photo to Darren Woodson. You've been
so gracious with some of the things that you've sent
over before. Always always good to hear from you, and
I'm sure we will here when you know, in the
next couple of weeks, when you get back in town.

(01:04:57):
Ali from Florida, second year in a row. How about
Anteon from Miami. We've already heard from him. Anthony. He
got off the line quick. He knows he's on the team.
He made it. First teamer Anthony quick quick. That's right.
I'm not making not doing this very quick, but Anthony,
great stuff. Always loved the energy, the singing, you know,
the raft, all the stuff that you do. It's fun

(01:05:18):
to bring that to the show. All right, We've got
a couple more here on the first team. I got
four more here. Travis from San Antonio. Travis, I know
you're your big draft guy. Excited about this. I don't
know if you're excited about this. Pick exactly. But you're,
you know, knee deep into the draft. Haven't heard from
you in a little bit, but still call all the time.

(01:05:39):
Appreciate that. Zach in Atlanta, Georgia, he's a first teamer.
Zach is always fun. He's always got some you never
know what he's gonna say, but really some cool stuff.
He'll sing it for you a little bit there too.
I think he's done a song for us, all right.
And two more first teamers first teamers only Brian in
Kansas City, who called this morning, and Robbie from Cocoa Beach. Robbie,

(01:06:02):
I don't think he called the third most calls of anybody.
Robbie didn't didn't make the team last year, didn't even
call this year. Boom calls all the time. I always
has a great attitude, both those guys, Brian and Robbie.
That is your first teamers. Now, that's that's where we stand.
I decided to do it a little differently this year.
First team Boom over and now you've got captains, and

(01:06:26):
I decided to do it. I figured we had four
captains this year that that had to be on the team.
They do things, they're all they all bring something a
little different to the table. Let's start off with Irene. Irene,
she was on the first caller here. She has really
brought the entire Cowboys storyline community, like nationwide and worldwide. Really,

(01:06:50):
I mean, she has done a great job with that.
She's like, she's like the the everyone's Everyone's favorite mom,
you know what I mean, Like that's what's She's just
great and and and but but she'll bring some some
zingers in there as well too. Just a die hard
Cowboys fan, but really has been a diehard to this
Cowboys storyline show. So she is one of our captains

(01:07:11):
and one of the people that have helped that that
created the storyline space is there on Twitter. The other
one is Dylan Dylan from Northport Beach, Florida. Dylan, who's
actually on the line right now. Gonna get to him
in just a second. Dylan, Uh, you're one of our
captains this year. You've been so instrumental and really taking

(01:07:33):
this show to another level. I really appreciate that a
third captain, guy that we're all pulling for. Randy and
Texter can. He may not call as much as some
of the others, but when he does, he puts a
smile on everyone's face. Mine included love hearing from him,
love his voice, love his energy, love his attitude. Can't

(01:07:55):
wait to get more calls from him. I know he's
going through it right now, but we're all pulling for
you and you if this show is going on, you're
always going to have a spot and right now you're
you're not just the first time your captain on this team,
just for the stuff that you bring.

Speaker 10 (01:08:10):
And then of course, and.

Speaker 4 (01:08:17):
I really thought he was on the line for a round.
That's a good one. That's a good one for sure.
He's always bringing those kind of things. Our last spot
is gonna be uh, Robin Vegas. Uh. You know, there's
there's there's four captains. Just like a football game. You
can bring four captains out there. Somebody, somebody's gonna call
the heads or tails though, you know somebody among the

(01:08:38):
captains doing that. Rob still the captain. He's still the
guy that everybody wants to know what what he thinks.
And that's that's special. Yeah, I appreciate you guys call
and say, oh Nick, where's Nick thing? Which is great? Well,
why do you guys want to hear what what Rob thinks?
Because Rob's gonna tell it like it is, you know,
for him, him and I we don't always agree, what's fine,

(01:09:00):
that's what makes it the show better. He's he pushes us.
It's not always not always comfortable. This is this football
team hasn't made the super Bowl in thirty years, championship
NFC Championship game thirty years. It's not always comfortable. But
you guys are loyal fans and do it in a
different way. But Rob, he's just one of those guys.

(01:09:22):
A lot of people really want to hear what he
has to say, even if they don't like it, you know,
and that's fine. But He's He's he definitely does bring
that energy to our show and makes it better. And
and I hope he knows that that even when we disagree,
it's we know that I know just how important he
is for the show. That's why he's one of our captains.

(01:09:43):
So just to just to kind of recap that real quick,
our four captains Robin Vegas, Dylan in North Beach, Florida,
Irene from Virginia, and Randy from Texarcanada. Great stuff, guys,
all right, we appreciate that. We're gonna get your address.
Were Gon and mail you one of these as well.
If you're a first teamer and one of the captains,

(01:10:04):
you can pick blue or black. We'll try to accommodate
you on that as well. All right, let's go to Uh,
let's go Dylan? Is it been waiting on the line? Sorry? Dylan?
I appreciate you you waiting? How you doing mixt there?

Speaker 7 (01:10:18):
What's up dude?

Speaker 4 (01:10:19):
One of the captains?

Speaker 18 (01:10:21):
Yeah, I appreciate it.

Speaker 24 (01:10:23):
Hey, listen, I was, I was on a whold break.
I heard Randy start talking and I was just confused
as hell.

Speaker 4 (01:10:29):
Drop. Yeah, it was just a drop. That's okay though.

Speaker 11 (01:10:31):
Yeah, Chris got me.

Speaker 13 (01:10:32):
Chris got me with it.

Speaker 11 (01:10:32):
I was a doe.

Speaker 7 (01:10:33):
I like that.

Speaker 24 (01:10:33):
Randy's got a drop. That's awesome. But I appreciate you
putting me as a captain, bro.

Speaker 11 (01:10:37):
Yeah, I really appreciate that.

Speaker 4 (01:10:38):
I appreciate what you do with the with the spaces
and and really has taken this to another level and
any I mean, you guys have friends now, friends that
you're even planning a trip together, people that that you
didn't even know before, and now y'all talk all the time.

Speaker 7 (01:10:54):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:10:54):
That is awesome to think that this storyline has been
able to do that. That's that's pretty amazing and you're
one of the reasons for that. It's going to take
people like you and Irene to say, Hi, let's take
this to another level. And you've done that and I
really really appreciate it.

Speaker 24 (01:11:09):
Yeah, bro, will you give us the space to come
on and invent and talk and make those friendships so
you know, we all appreciate you, and we all appreciate
you too, Chris and Joshua josh is there. You guys
all do a kick ass job and really do some
great stuff for the fans. So we really, you know,
appreciate you guys a lot too.

Speaker 4 (01:11:25):
Thanks so much. What do you what you think of
the pick?

Speaker 6 (01:11:29):
Yeah, it was a good pick.

Speaker 24 (01:11:31):
Picking up guard at twelve is a slight reach, but
you know, it's it's all in terms of I guess,
the eyes of the beholder, because in the end it's
going to be a great pick. This is going to
be a guy who's going to end up competing for
all pro considerations in just a couple of years, I think.
I mean, he's got everything that you need from a
guard to be a mall aren, to identify or to

(01:11:54):
create an identity for this team to be the bruising
kind of team back in the twenty fourteen twenty sixteen days.
So I think it's a great pick, and just for
for everybody that's that this is the point I just
wanted to say real quick, and I know someone else
is on.

Speaker 4 (01:12:05):
Hold, so will go quick.

Speaker 24 (01:12:07):
You know, Dallas played against more light boxes last year,
and like anybody else in the league almost I think
they were the twenty eighth or twenty ninth whatever, they
played more more light boxes almost anybody, and they still
couldn't run the football. And so when you say, you know,
Dallas doesn't have weapons on the outside and they can't
throw the ball, well, teams are sitting in too high.
You know, they're they're fogging the passing lingues. Nobody was
getting open because they couldn't run the ball, and teams

(01:12:29):
didn't fear them running the ball. And it's not to
say we don't need more weapons as well on the outside,
because we definitely do. I don't think we have a
true number two right now. But drafting this guy and
drafting and running back and the second or third round,
that's going to completely change the identity of the team.
And it's going to help raise the floor in that
receiver room, because you know, defense has got to now
factor in stopping the runs. So if you can you

(01:12:50):
can dominate the line of scrimmage, run the ball, you're
gonna see the entire floor of the whole offense rave
and not just you know, protection for Daker being able
to run, Like, the whole thing is gonna be better
now with this, So some people to kind of take
a step back and take a deep press realized there's
seven rounds, it's the first pick. You still got more
to go, and everything's going to be Everything's going to
be all right, for.

Speaker 4 (01:13:09):
Sure, definitely, for sure. I like it too, because you're right,
it's it's one one of ten right now. But and
it's the it's the biggest one. As I see him
running through the tunnel visually got his video of that.
But but yeah, it's it's it's a it's it's a
long journey here, but I think it's I think it's
a really great start. Let's see if they get some

(01:13:30):
of those those flashy players here maybe tonight.

Speaker 24 (01:13:34):
All right, man, Well, thank you very much. I appreciate it,
and hope you have a good rest of you today.

Speaker 4 (01:13:37):
All Right, Thank you appreciate that. All right, doing uh
cat one of the captains on the all storyline team.
Let's keep the calls going. Here, we have a first
time caller here. This is David from Highland, Michigan.

Speaker 8 (01:13:51):
Hey, first time or yes, sir, how you doing?

Speaker 4 (01:13:56):
We're doing great, doing great. Sorry I have you on
hold a little bit. We had to go through some
are all storyline squad, but it was good to hear
from a first time caller as well. David, what do
you think of the draft?

Speaker 8 (01:14:08):
You know what, at first I was kind of questioning
the pick, but you know what, I really like it.
I mean Booker, I think he's a road grader, he's
a maler and he's going to do the job. I
really do. My question for you is Dallas has stars.
They've always been like in the seventies, you know that
star and their home if they had star players. They
need a running back like dor Set like Smith in

(01:14:31):
the nineties. They need a big time back, don't you agree?
And they also need a receiver with speed and that
can stretch the field. What are your thoughts? And thank
you very much?

Speaker 11 (01:14:41):
Go Cowboys?

Speaker 4 (01:14:42):
All right, thank you? Yeah, I mean you need all
those things. I mean one hundred percent. I mean, that's
what the good teams are. They they kind of they
get it all meshed together.

Speaker 22 (01:14:52):
You know.

Speaker 4 (01:14:53):
But I'll say this about about the pick, and a
lot of people liked McMillan the receiver for from Arizona.
It was going to be interesting what happens if McMillan
was on the board because their grades were right there.
They don't necessarily grade based off of position, position value

(01:15:18):
or whatever. It's just the grade is the grade. Now
that from there you can decide what's more important this
position or this one, and you know, guard or receiver.
Receiver probably would have won out. I mean I would
imagine I would have think that McMillan probably would have
been the pick there. But their grade was was very
very similar. Booker's grade was higher than Nolan, he was

(01:15:40):
higher than Shamar Stewart who was there, but it was
really close with McMillan not even been the same. And
I think they would have probably gone receiver there. But
that just goes to show I'm just trying to point
out just I don't think this was a second round.
I mean, this was a reach for number twelve. This

(01:16:02):
was a guy that they had rated very very high.
It may not be the position that everyone thinks is
that important, but I think it is, and especially with
what they've lost. But still, I just I want y'all
to know that this wasn't like, well, we lost Zach Martin,
we need This was like this guy was was rated

(01:16:24):
very very high and he was slotted right where he
was picked. So I don't I don't think this was
a reach. You know, you can make that that statement
for for other times where the Cowboys have done that
in the past, but I don't think this one was
one of them. Let's keep it, Let's keep it on
the phone line here. That was great to hear from you,
David from Michigan on our first time caller. Let's keep

(01:16:46):
it going, Chuck D, Bridge City, Texas, Chuck D. What's up?

Speaker 6 (01:16:50):
What's that?

Speaker 11 (01:16:51):
How you doing good?

Speaker 22 (01:16:53):
I want to say congratulations. Read the article and you're
the only staff fighter they got to pick right.

Speaker 4 (01:17:00):
Thank you, Thank you talking to the right people. I
guess you would say, uh, let's see if we can
get a couple more. I don't know which one. If
you saw the was it pot picks or you saw
our seven round monck. Either way, seven round mock. We'll
see if we can get a couple more uh in there.
Maybe maybe I got Judkins running back tonight and uh,

(01:17:21):
I can't remember. Our third rounder was a wide receiver
from Washington State. He may not be there for the
third round, but we'll see. We'll see if we get one.
But yeah, always good. The last time I got one,
right was Tyler Smith Tulsa. Uh and then maybe before that,
Tyron Smith. Us. See it's not it's harder. It's harder
than you think to actually do that. So yeah, pretty well.

Speaker 22 (01:17:45):
I was watching the Cowboys Live draft, yeah, or the draft,
and they're saying that the Texans actually was on the
phone when you could see Jerry talking like they wanted
to trade up. Yeah, and I'm wondering they almost And
what I was thinking was where Golden got picked. It

(01:18:05):
was only a few picks away from where if they
would have traded back, they could have possibly have gotten him.
And I wonder if that's what they're thinking.

Speaker 4 (01:18:15):
I think what they were thinking was that that we're
going to add more picks. I mean like like, I
don't know if they could have thought that maybe Golden
would have been there. He wasn't though, right, he went
twenty one. Yeah, yeah, close, So it was close. It
was close, and maybe, you know, maybe when you do that,
you get if you would have moved back to twenty five,

(01:18:37):
I think for the Cowboys, you know they were they
were looking at a two and a three to add Houston.
I don't think the didn't want to give that much.
But if they would have moved back to twenty five,
then maybe you do move up with some of that
more you know, draft capital, that that you've collected, and
maybe you move up and get the guy you want.
But you know, I don't know. I I didn't love

(01:19:00):
that idea. I liked what they did is staying in
there and making a pick, especially when you consider this,
they only have twelve first round grades. They only had twelve,
so it's usually anywhere between about eleven to fifteen. So
if you move back to twenty five, yeah you're gonna

(01:19:20):
get another second or third round or whatever, but you're
not getting a first round player in your board. And
I think this team it was important to do that
to get that type of player on the team. So
by staying in there and making a pick, they were able.

Speaker 22 (01:19:34):
To do that, and they had him as a first
rounder they did.

Speaker 4 (01:19:37):
They did have They did have Booker. He was one
of their guys. I believe when they were on the
board at twelve, I think there was only three first
rounders left Shamar Stewart from a and m Walter Nolan
from Ole Miss and Tyler Booker. There might there might
have been another one, but those were the three and
that that tells you what they think about a boot Golden.

(01:20:02):
I mean, those were second round receivers in their mind.
That doesn't mean they don't go Obviously you're gonna do that.
Tyler Geiden did not have a first round grade last year.
They picked him in the first round. They have to,
you know. Now, I believe Tyler Smith did. I think
he had a first round grade and they were able
to get him where they did. So again, this is
just the Cowboys grading system and how it works, right.

Speaker 22 (01:20:26):
Yeah. No, I'm happy with the pick Thouan one. And
when they say they're talking what they were fosterly what
they're thinking.

Speaker 4 (01:20:32):
Yeah, Chuck, were you able to hear earlier here in
the show, just a few minutes ago, where we announced
our our all storyline team. No, I didn't, Okay, because
sometimes when you're calling you're calling, you're calling, You're not
listening to the show. We announced our team and you
have made it as our second team all storyline. And
I don't know if you're able to see or watch
it right now, but I'm holding up a Cowboys storyline

(01:20:54):
yetti Tumblr and it's a it's pretty awesome. It'll it'll
you can you can put probably I don't know, three
cans of soda in here. I mean, you can drink
out of this all day long. But you can have
this at your desk at home, whatever, and always represent
Cowboys storyline. We appreciate you for calling as much as
you do and bringing good insight, and so you've you've

(01:21:16):
made our second team. Uh there, which we're gonna get
your address and we're gonna send this off to you.

Speaker 7 (01:21:23):
All right.

Speaker 22 (01:21:23):
Hey, I even got to talk to Darren Woodson and
I've got to talk to Nate Neaton before, so I
feel pretty special.

Speaker 4 (01:21:28):
Yeah, there you go. We appreciate you. Thank you so much,
Chuck all R all right, let's keep it going here.
We're gonna have a repeat caller here, Anthony from Miami.
He's got something to say, shockingly, Anthony, what's up?

Speaker 7 (01:21:41):
Man? You better believe it, baby, I gave up that
spot to hear the storyline team. So I congratulate all
these honorable mentions and first second, third teamers and captains.
You know that's number one. So number two, let's talk
some football, all right. I think personally, I think personally
a lot of people are just mad at the results

(01:22:02):
of the Cowboys. That's what I think over the last
couple of years. And you should be. So when you
go out a free agency and you get thirteen players
to field the hole, you keep saying, not you, but
people keep saying to know of this, we got too
many holes. We just need everything. We don't need everything.
We don't need everything. We went out and got thirteen people. Now,
if you got an offensive lineman and you went out

(01:22:23):
and got three more in free agencies, through trades or whatever,
if that guy's one of the best guys, then put
him in y'all. Like Brock mister Jones from Miami.

Speaker 6 (01:22:34):
I don't know what he brings.

Speaker 7 (01:22:35):
I don't know if he was that good. But if
the best guy has to play, man, if you can
have a formidable line of middle like Bbie Tyler Smith
all Pro and this guy from Alabama let's go with it.
Tell me I said that was my third pick. Whether
I say wide receiver yesterday I said, why receive running
back and alignment. You can plug in and play right away.
So if he can do it, let's go with it.

(01:22:57):
We're gonna get a running back in a wide receiver.
The second and third round is noted with him. Now
my personal favorite. I did name for a guy that
I was want on the teape and it's still a
guy that we may get later. Camp Scattable and the
guy that you and another caller brought up, Judkins. I
still here's the best of our state running back. You
gotta remember this guy asked about fourteen fifteen, sixteen hundred

(01:23:18):
yards for oh miss, I believe it. I believe before
he got there. So if we can get guys like that,
I think we'll be okay. That's all I want to say. Congratulations, Storryliners.
Zach is my boy. Like my favorite call. We go
back and forth on the Cowboys when you're right down
stuff on YouTube and stuff like that. We go back
and forth. So he's my boy. So I'm very happy

(01:23:40):
for him. I'm very happy for everybody.

Speaker 4 (01:23:42):
Thank you Nick, thank you Chris, appreciate it. Thank you
so much, Anthony. I'm gonna I'm gonna re look at
one more caller. Then I'm gonna recap the whole thing,
the whole list a little bit. I know, the way
we did it, we kind of bounced around a little bit.
I wanted to get certain people on the line that
were calling in, let's keep it going here with Gavin
in Oklahoma City, Gavin, what's up? Man?

Speaker 11 (01:24:04):
What's up? Nick? Has it going good?

Speaker 4 (01:24:06):
How are you?

Speaker 11 (01:24:07):
I'm good man.

Speaker 21 (01:24:09):
You know.

Speaker 11 (01:24:09):
I came on the show before the draft a couple
of times and said I really wanted a high caliber
steel player at that pick. However, with te and Gent
off the board and no trade up, I also thought
that Tyler Booker was the best guard in the draft.

Speaker 6 (01:24:24):
Now, however you.

Speaker 11 (01:24:25):
Feel about you know, you could have maybe traded back
and got him or or that. When you start playing
those games, you never know who else is in love
with that prospect. So that considered, I really did not
want them to draft to tackle only because I think
Steele and Guiton are gonna be okay this year. So
I'm pretty happy with the pick. Personally. I think if

(01:24:48):
you get in the later rounds and you pick up
a running back and a receiver, then you're really cooking
with with grease. But you do need that corner, and
that's what makes us all true. You really have four
positions you really really need to touch in my opinion,
and uh, with three fists, maybe you take a few swings.

(01:25:09):
I hope one of those hits that's really all I got.
I'm sure it's nothing nobody else didn't touch on. I
didn't even know it was a show today, man, I'm
just happy to be in Well, thanks for taking my call.

Speaker 4 (01:25:19):
Hold up, hold up, hold up before you go, Before
you go, I want to say, because I because I
know when you're trying to call you, just like the
last caller, don't always here. Did you even hear any
of the show today about our all Storyline Team?

Speaker 6 (01:25:32):
No?

Speaker 7 (01:25:32):
I didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:25:33):
Okay, well you got to go back and watch it.
I'm gonna I'm gonna reveal it here in a little bit,
but we're announcing the All Storyline Team. Everyone on it
gets to this Yetti Cowboys Storyline Tumblr and you made
it as our second team. You're on the second team
this year for for all the calls and all the
insight that that you bring to our show. So I

(01:25:55):
want to congratulate you for that and say thank you
Gavin for that. And uh, everybody that we that are
that are on here, we we want them to put
in our text line. We want you to be able
to send in your address so we can we can
mail these off to you. We're not doing T shirts
this year. We did these yetty Cowboys storyline mugs.

Speaker 22 (01:26:14):
So thank you.

Speaker 11 (01:26:16):
Want the T shirt, appreciate that.

Speaker 4 (01:26:17):
There you go, there you go, thank you. You know
I said that to Dylan. I said, yeah, this is
one of those things you can you can use this
every day. Now you can every day, but you but
you won't have any friends, probably uh for too long
if you keep wearing the same shirt. But you could
definitely have the storyline mug.

Speaker 7 (01:26:34):
Thank you so much. I appreciate it.

Speaker 11 (01:26:36):
I love the show man, I love coming in and
talking to somebody with some knowledge in the building. I
appreciate you all, appreciate you, and Chris appreciate it.

Speaker 7 (01:26:44):
Man.

Speaker 4 (01:26:45):
Thank you so much. All right, Chris says, Chris has
the phone keeps ringing here, so he keeps s ringing,
and you know, we we'll just we'll keep answering it
for a while. We really don't have a whole lot
else going. I say that, you know, Chris Pye has
to go to the bathroom or something like that. But
we're good. Chris, you want to you got other caller? Yeah,
put on your let's go Chris, Chris and San Angelo.

Speaker 25 (01:27:05):
Yes, oh no, this Chris just went so I'm good,
But no, I was gonna mister Nick, I hope you're
doing well.

Speaker 4 (01:27:15):
I got it.

Speaker 21 (01:27:15):
Yeah, I got it, I got it.

Speaker 4 (01:27:17):
I hope it was the number one anyway, Chris, Yeah, yeah, right,
what's up man?

Speaker 25 (01:27:21):
Okay, Well, first of all, yeah, got on the second team.
I'm very honored to be there. I thought after the
honorable mentions, I didn't hear my name. I figured out, well,
don't worry about anymore.

Speaker 4 (01:27:32):
But anyway, we added more spots. We did last year
was eight honor eight like for each team, but I
added it to eleven, and I even took four captains off,
and so I did a lot of change in here
on the fly today, Like like there's a couple of
people that made it on the first team that were
actually written down as second teamers. Everyone kind of slid

(01:27:53):
up a little bit I thought captains needed to be
on their own team, but still your second team. Appreciate that.
Always have a great aude.

Speaker 7 (01:28:00):
Uh yeah, the draft, Okay.

Speaker 25 (01:28:04):
On the draft, Yeah, I'll do that real quick, right,
I'm not gonna lie right. At first, I was kind
of disappointed, but now it is, it's kind of growing
on me. I'm kind of I'm kind of getting a
feel for it, especially after hearing him and hearing who's
a attitude and approach, So yeah, it is. I'm warming

(01:28:24):
up to it now. I was a guy that wanted
to you know, guy run fast and scores touchdowns, right,
but there's still some of those out there, and this
guy's going to help open the door for that.

Speaker 7 (01:28:35):
So yeah, I'm happy.

Speaker 4 (01:28:37):
Well, I think he's He's one of those guys that
really will help the team immediately, and uh maybe one
of those guys you don't even worry about, you know,
you don't even think about. You'll see him. That's the
type of players this team needs. Is you don't have
to wonder what's going to happen at the offensive line.
You know, hey, if it's a hot game, if it's cold,
if draining, whatever, your offensive line is always going to

(01:29:00):
come to play so that you need those kind of
guys exactly.

Speaker 25 (01:29:04):
Yeah, you don't, and you don't. You don't necessarily don't
need to hear his name in the game.

Speaker 7 (01:29:08):
Right there you go.

Speaker 25 (01:29:09):
All right, but then that's all I have for you,
my friends.

Speaker 4 (01:29:12):
Right well, thank you.

Speaker 25 (01:29:14):
Well, I will send I guess send in whatever I
need to do.

Speaker 4 (01:29:17):
Yeah, anyways, we'll get it figured out. And if it doesn't,
if we don't have it today, I'll put it out.
I'll put out a message of where you guys can
can send your stuff to get one. Sorry, but we
didn't do T shirts this year, but we still feel
like this was is just as good, if not better.

Speaker 25 (01:29:32):
So oh you're you're good, my friend, and it was
good talking to you today.

Speaker 4 (01:29:35):
All right, sounds good, good talking good talking to you
as well. Chris in San Angelo made our team in
the second team.

Speaker 7 (01:29:41):
All right.

Speaker 4 (01:29:42):
We've got some first time callers to still rolling in here,
Steve and Charlotte, North Carolina. Steve, what's up?

Speaker 13 (01:29:48):
What's going on with Steven? How are you sir?

Speaker 4 (01:29:50):
How are you doing it?

Speaker 13 (01:29:51):
I'm doing well, doing well, A long time listener man,
first time caller. I actually have a I love the
pick as far as Tyler Booker goes, man.

Speaker 4 (01:30:00):
I think hold up your first time, call it right, Yes, sir,
I know you're excited you're telling us then, but I
want to get that in there too. All right, now,
now you're on the team, let's go, Steve. What's up?

Speaker 13 (01:30:15):
Awesome? Awesome? So I feel I love to pick with
Tyler Booker.

Speaker 7 (01:30:18):
Man.

Speaker 13 (01:30:19):
I feel like we're solidifying the front line, man, and
the inside where that needs to be protected in that pocket.

Speaker 8 (01:30:24):
Man.

Speaker 13 (01:30:24):
I feel like Geyden and Terrence will actually you know,
do well this year, judging about what we've listened to
throughout the summers about him being in the weight room
and all. But my question to you is if we
pick up and running back in the second round, we
be opposed to actually trading the third pick for one
of these guys as far as the trades go, as

(01:30:46):
far as Jamison Williams or George Pickens and I'll hang
up and listen.

Speaker 4 (01:30:51):
Well, thank you for the call. You know, it's it
is harder for us to talk about other players on
other teams. It's kind of tampering type issues, so we
try not to really get into those specifics. But but
if you are, you know that does factor in, and
Jerry has said that that they're working on trade. So
who you know, who knows exactly who those players are.

(01:31:14):
I've heard some names something that it's not It's not
the ones that are going to get everyone super excited.
So I think tonight, you know, if you look at
who's who's going to be available and all that, I mean,
I don't. I just don't thank Luther Burden from Missouri
is gonna fall that foint that would be that would
be nice, But I don't see that happening from him

(01:31:39):
following that that far. But you know, I've seen it
where the Cowboys would trade up to get a player
like that, and I know it's a position of need.
I'm just I'm not sure of these other receivers that
they that they have, you know, second round grades on
as well. I know, I know Higgins from Iowa State
is a guy that that they like. But you know,

(01:32:00):
I don't, I don't know what. I still think it's
going to be a running back. I think running back
is where you'll get your your value here.

Speaker 13 (01:32:07):
Tonight, absolutely so absolutely. But you get the one two
punch man. You get that, you get you get the
guard and the running back, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (01:32:14):
I mean, yeah, that that's that's you're sending a message
of what you're trying trying to do. And you know
that's something that Schottenheimer said, and we hear it all
the time, you know, you hear coach speak. They say
they're going to do this, they're going to do that.
We heard McCarthy say they wanted to run the ball
and then threw it all over the yard, right, But
like you know, he says, we're going to be in
a physical, violent football team that likes to run the football. Well,

(01:32:38):
you know, your first pick of being a head go
to the Cowboys as a guard. If your second one
is a running back, you're you're you're at least showing
us that that you're that you're sound committed, you know,
so you know what you're what you're doing is what
you're saying, and and that's always good to hear. So, well,
we'll see if if it goes to that. I mean,

(01:32:59):
this is still a passing league. He's still going to
throw the ball. You still have Dakie, still have CD.
They have to throw it. But play acting works a
lot better when you are when you can't run the football.
You know, and that yeah, it's something you don't know.
I mean, something you know you obviously know.

Speaker 13 (01:33:15):
All right, for sure, Thanks you mite man, thank you
so much.

Speaker 4 (01:33:18):
All right, we we We're still getting some more calls.
Some of them are repeat calls. Uh, let's go back
Ronnie in New Jersey.

Speaker 11 (01:33:26):
Ronnie, Hey, Nick, sir.

Speaker 6 (01:33:29):
Uh listen. I heard I heard my name and I
was like, oh, I got a call back here. And
I just told Chris. I was like, hey, man, I'm
so grateful. Uh, I'm you know, second time in a
row of the first team, and I'm very grateful. I
want to say thank you very much. Then, like I said,
like I've always said, I we we I'm sorry now

(01:33:52):
I we as fans appreciate you and what you guys do.
I told Chris the same thing, because Chris is the backbone.
Chris Man, you're the backbone, because he's in every show,
running the shows. And I know it's hat ticket is.
We got the phone lines, you gott to send you
messages and like you, you're reading the screen, you're listening
to what we're saying. And man, that's not easy to

(01:34:14):
do because you know, listen and reading at the same time.

Speaker 4 (01:34:17):
I'm glad you recognize that. Yeah, but thank you, thank
thank you for sure for saying that.

Speaker 6 (01:34:23):
So I appreciate everything you guys do. I appreciate being
on the first scene. And and another thing I wanted
to say, you stole something from me earlier that I
forgot to mention when you mentioned the Eric Williams. That's
that's that was my thing. I forgot to say. This
guy to this, to this line, he's what Eric Williams

(01:34:48):
was to the nineties old line, that mean tough guy
that we needed that actually Nate Low and ill tell
you that guy. When that guy came in, he changed
things and that often line, he was that guy that
was taking no bs from nobody. Who was that guy
that was beating uh, Reggie White, Michael straight hand? You

(01:35:10):
asked Michael straight hand. He'll tell you, hey, man, the
one guy he he This guy always mentions that the
one guy that gave him the work headaches and those
toughest and the meanest guy was Eric Williams. And it
sounds like this guy it's eight. So that's why I
love this pick, and I love the change that he's
gonna do on this offensive line. And I feel bad

(01:35:30):
for Mashie. I feel bad. I feel bad for MASKI man, Mashie,
you have to go up against this guy. Man, you
better put on your big boy pants.

Speaker 4 (01:35:40):
Well that's good. So that's a good thing. We need that.
We I mean, we need to see you know that.
That's that's what made those teams in the nineties better
because they were practicing against really good talent, you know, and.

Speaker 6 (01:35:54):
You're either the defensive lineman. You're either gonna step up
or he's gonna make him quit right there. So we're
gonna know what we have. The coaches are gonna know
what we have in that defensive line because the guys
like this, and that's what exactly what we need. So
Nick again, I know you got more calls or whatever.
I appreciate you. Thank you very much, and go cowboys again.

Speaker 4 (01:36:16):
All right, thank you so much. Appreciate the call. Ronnie
call back as well. All right. Well that's I mean,
we're going a little bit a lot over time. Actually
this is I mean, we're getting getting close to a
two hour show. We knew there's gonna be a long
show because there's a lot to do here. I think
I think we're at a point where we're gonna stop,
but I do want to read over the list one

(01:36:37):
more time because a lot of people don't get a
chance to to, you know, hear their name, and I
had to do it in a way where I kind
of moved around a little bit. So our honorary members there.
