Speaker 1 (00:05):
The following.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
He is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and
the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
This is Cowboys Storyline, brought you by Gillette, the official
razor of the Dallas Cowboys. Here's Nick Eatman.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
What is up? Everyone? Welcome to Cowboys Storyline. It is Friday,
July twenty seventh. It's an off day here for the Cowboys.
Not an off day for the sunshine here in Oxnard, California.
Not an off day for the mowers. Kind of back here.
We didn't have that the other day, and that was
one of the reasons why we wanted to move this
show a couple hours later to kind of get away

(00:50):
from the mowers most of the days. But on this
off day here our friends Mode Clayborne back in action.
That's all right though, I can hear you guys. I'll
be able to hear you guys. Great when the phone line,
uh should be all working. We had a little bit
of a of a I had some issues on a
Wednesday for our first show to be expected though. But

(01:11):
now we're back, ready to roll, and let's keep this
thing going. Cowboys Storyline this season three. The second episode
of season three, presented by Gillette official shave of the
Dallas Cowboys. As you'd heard that, we're happy that Gillette
is our new sponsor. All right, let's go to the line.

(01:32):
Let's get us started here. Zach in Atlanta's first act.
What's up?

Speaker 4 (01:36):
What's up? Nick? And Frisco by way of Oxtart? How
are you man?

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Right?

Speaker 5 (01:40):
Man?

Speaker 1 (01:40):
I'm good. I am really really good. Thank you for asking.
How are you?

Speaker 4 (01:45):
I'm great, man. Excited for training camp, aren't we all?
But it's great to have the show back. Loved hearing
the first show and I checked in on the spaces
on Twitter last night, so yeah, it's exciting. And one
note and then one question for you. I want to
keep the calls moving, so one, you know, obviously Micah's

(02:08):
deal is in the balance. I think it's going to
get done, but I'm already looking ahead with Tyler Smith.
I think Deron Bland is up for a contract. And
outside of just seeing how Shoddy navigates things, I'm most
excited for CD and George Pickens to do their thing,
but I'm already looking ahead and like, man, this George
Pickens thing might be a rental, Like we kind of

(02:29):
saw that with the exchange of the third round pick
and the cop pick if he goes. So I'm like, hey,
enjoy the ride. I'm going to love me some CD
and George Pickens with a healthy jack. The line looks
really good. And that's it. Man, we're fans. I want
to see the highlights. I want to have fun. We
haven't won a Super Bowl in thirty something years. I've

(02:50):
never seen it, and so I'm just like, hey, I
wait for the ups and downs and the fun of
the season. This season, I'm looking forward to just a
crazy passing game. So that's where I'm coming in today
and for this season. But questions for you, first three practices,
what jumps off the page, like first thing that comes
to mind? Yeah, and I guess that's all I got. Man.

(03:11):
It's so good to hear from you, and thanks for
taking my car.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
I appreciate that you know, without with what stands out
to me, and this is without having arguably the best
pass rusher in the NFL on the field in micro parsons,
But what stands out is the energy and the speed
that you're seeing from the defense and the defense flying
around the ball. That kind of happens a little bit
early in training camp defense is usually a little bit

(03:35):
ahead of the offense, especially when you're installing that. But
but I just liked what you see, the energy they're
knocking the ball out, you know, Eva Flews the defense
have always been really good at turnovers, and you can
kind of see why they do a really good job
of getting the ball out of the of the offense,
out of their hands and getting it on the ground.

(03:57):
You know, it's always hard to tell what's really happening,
you know, in a practice where there's no tackling. I mean,
you see a running back catch a screen in the flat,
Javonte Williams catches it, and here comes a corner back,
you know, here comes Kyrie Elam and he runs up
and kind of taps him on the shoulder, and then
they all start yelling and they say, ooh, I got you.

(04:19):
You know, who's to say he would have tackled him,
you know what I mean, that's one thing. You got
to be physical, you got to bring him down. But
as far as what we can see, we see energy,
We see them flying to the ball, and we actually
see them getting the hands on the ball, getting interceptions,
forcing fumbles and things like that. So that to me
is what's standing out your other stuff. You know, you're
kind of all over the place with contracts and excitement

(04:41):
and all that, which is great. This is a good
time of the year. Four all that, you know that
the Cowboys do have a lot of players going into
their final year of their contracts, so I can't franchise
them all. Obviously, you got to save that franchise for
Mike if you're not gonna get it done, which I
still think that they will. But you know, still after that,
you couldn't franchise all of them. So Tyler's is actually
not a This is not the last year of his deal.

(05:04):
He could have a fifty year option after that, so
he's not necessarily in that boat. But maybe still a
guy you wouldn't you wouldn't mind locking up sooner than
later for sure. All right, let's go to Brian in
Kansas City's next. Brian. What's up, Bud?

Speaker 6 (05:17):
Hey, good morning, sir, good morning.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
How are you I'm doing that?

Speaker 7 (05:22):
Man?

Speaker 8 (05:22):
I just got done telling Chris you didn't have the
mowers to fight with, and that that's now you do.

Speaker 6 (05:26):
Huh.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
It's not too bad, It's not too bad. It's not
too bad. I mean, usually this is not a practice day,
so maybe they gave the mowers a little bit of
a of a later day to to mow. But when
I was when I was told do you want to
do the eight, nine or ten o'clock? I was like,
give me the ten. So uh, but it's it's that's fine,
you know what I mean. I think we have we
have good, good headset here, got good I could sack.

(05:48):
I can hear you guys perfectly, so so I think
it'll be fine.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
That's awesome.

Speaker 8 (05:52):
And I was telling Chris last year, we really don't
hear it that bad on our end. I know it's
it's hard for you guys, but it doesn't the filters
or whatever they got working, It doesn't come through real
bad on all.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
R Yeah, it's all good. So hey, so I'm gonna.

Speaker 8 (06:09):
Just ask the obvious because it just happened, and then
I'm gonna throw I'm gonna give you a throwback because
I haven't done it in a while.

Speaker 6 (06:17):
But the obvious question.

Speaker 8 (06:18):
For training camp is, you know, when we hear somebody
has an ankle injury, and you know that's what we
heard about steel, you know, it can be anything from
two days to two months.

Speaker 6 (06:29):
If it's the dreaded high ankle, So just any update
you have on that.

Speaker 8 (06:34):
And then for my old throwback, I'm gonna take you
back to a twenty ten game in the Garrett administration
at Lucas Oil Stadium. It's John Kitna versus Peyton Manning.
In that game, there were two interceptions returned for a touchdown?

Speaker 6 (06:57):
Do you remember who they were?

Speaker 8 (06:58):
And I'll hang up and listen my friend.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
All right, thanks for the call, Brian. Yes, I do
remember that game, and I would if you were still
on the line, I'd ask you who won the game.
The pick sixes were Sean Lee and Orlando Scandrick. The
guy who won the game was David Beeler, the game
winning field goal to win that game. I like Lucas

(07:22):
Oil Stadium. It's a cool place at and that was
an interesting game with Peyton Manning obviously playing and he
was really good and the Cowboys weren't. That wasn't a
great team, you know, obviously, but but that was when
Garrett was was the you know, he just he was
the head coach there for uh, the interim head coach
for a few games there down the stretch, and uh

(07:45):
they were playing better the defense was playing a lot better,
you know, at that time of year, and they got
those two pick sixes. Thirty eight thirty five something like that.
I think that was. The score is pretty high, it was.
It was a high scoring game. Another thing that happened
in that game, yeah, was des Bryant got hurt, if
I remember, on a kickoff return, and that kind of
changed a lot of their mindset on taking star players

(08:08):
and putting them on on kickoff returns and punt returns
and things like that. Because he was a rookie. He
was having a great year already, but he got hurt,
I believe wanted a kickoff return, so kind of changed
some of that dynamic there too. All right, we're going
back to the phone lines. I'm gonna check and see
who it is. It is Shelby in Virginia heading to
the airport. Shelby, I just talked to you yesterday.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Yes, yeah, we stop ating Hello.

Speaker 9 (08:34):
We're at the airport, ready to go home. It's a
note to the fans. One an experience. I cannot recommend
Oxnard enough. Just tons of players staying hello, stopping by.
So much fun and thanks for taking some time to
say hello.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Sure sure that it was great. Now, how early did
you have to get here to get that spot? You
had a pretty nice spot there right on the fence line.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
You know, it wasn't too bad.

Speaker 9 (09:00):
First day we got there like early.

Speaker 6 (09:02):
I think we thought the doors opened, suitors.

Speaker 9 (09:04):
We were just there like two hours, like.

Speaker 10 (09:05):
Right at the front of the line.

Speaker 9 (09:06):
Yeah, yesterday, we were maybe twenty minutes before doors opened.
So yeah, no, we got got great, great spother on
the fence.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Also, I've got Blair.

Speaker 6 (09:14):
From Virginia's mane.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
It was awesome.

Speaker 11 (09:16):
And watching the plays and the player's practice was fantastic,
great experience, and from everything we know about the storyliners, fans,
you know, you need to come out to camp and
witness it for yourself. It's a great time.

Speaker 10 (09:28):
Absolutely.

Speaker 9 (09:29):
Yeah, we've got I think we've each got a question
if that worked.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
Yeah, yeah, let's go for it.

Speaker 12 (09:33):
You go ahead, okay, all start off of mine.

Speaker 9 (09:36):
Towards the end of practice, I started to notice I
was trying to piece together what it meant, but I
kept seeing like defensive players sort of like form a
you with their arms and flap their arms. And then
I saw Shoddy doing it and it happened on a
few plays that I couldn't tell the common theme of
like what they were, if it was a play call,
if it was some type of odds celebration.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
So I was yeah, thought, well, right, it's not to
see belt celebration, right, you know that's not what you're no.

Speaker 9 (10:02):
No, yeah, the arms stayed above, like by the head
full time. It was like a sort of making you
with your arms next to your head and then like
going forward and back up.

Speaker 6 (10:11):
It was strange.

Speaker 9 (10:12):
I should have taken a video.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Yeah, I don't think I'm cool enough to answer that.
I don't know. I don't know what that is, and
maybe they don't want us to know that, but I
can't picture that in my mind. But then I'm probably
gonna have somebody go, you know what that is? It's something.
If Chris Bean doesn't know, then then I don't think
I don't huh, well, look.

Speaker 6 (10:32):
Out for it tomorrow, all right, or today.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
I guess I'll have an answer, you know, I have
a feeling i'll have an answer at the break after them,
I'll have an answer to that.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
And I had a question for you. I've noticed, I think.

Speaker 11 (10:44):
Even Irene asked us earlier this week, but there have
been several times we hear storylines about players coming in
heavier or or lighter for whatever reason, and how ill
impact their you know, their game, And I wondered if
you had any examples where players have done that either
way and it actually has made a difference, because I
hear this kind of storyline all the time, but I

(11:05):
don't know how it plays out in the regular season.

Speaker 9 (11:08):
And then real quick, if we could tack on one
more question up there, just your most memorable training camp signing,
like signing that happened while you were there, we can
we can let others call in.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
All right, all right, thanks for the for the call.
Training camp signing. You know they've they've I remember Tyron
Smith signed in the middle of camp.

Speaker 6 (11:29):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Honestly, the most memorable is not one that you are
going to remember. It was on this show when we
interviewed Malik Hooker. It was the first year where we
didn't have phone calls. Malik Hooker comes over since right
here and we just had we had players and that
was not a bad thing either. We didn't have the
phone line, but we got players to come in and

(11:53):
we were talking, how's it going, how's this season been?
Adapting to the Cowboys I think I even asked him
about this being a contract year. Yeah, you know, just
focused on all that, and twenty minutes after the show,
news broke that he just agreed the terms on it,
like a three year extension, and we were like seriously,
like like that can't get brought up at all. I mean,

(12:15):
I blame the guy asking the question me. Maybe I
could have done a little better job there, but man
like like little help but non't didn't work out. That's okay.
As far as the weight part of it, guys move
in and out. I mean, it's really about what they're
asking them to do, as I just dropped my phone,

(12:37):
as what they're asking to do and what kind of
position that they're going to play. The guy that I
always think of, there's two guys I can think of
that moved back and forth, back and forth all the time,
and a lot of the time based off of was
the position they were playing. But Tyrone Crawford is the
first one that comes to mind, because sometimes he was
an end rushing the pass or off the edge. Sometimes
they had him sliding inside and playing defensive tackle, so

(13:00):
you know, different body set and so you got a
guy he's got to be big enough, he's gonna play
him inside that he's gonna get trucked every every play
if he's not, you know, pushing three hundred pounds and
has that kind of strength. But then if you're like, oh,
we have a lot of tackles, you know what, Tyrol
will movie to the outside. Well, why aren't you getting
off the edge. Well, that's because you got me at
two ninety eight here and I and I'm my whole

(13:21):
off season was was for a different you know reason.
So these tweeners sometimes guard tackle, defensive end, defensive tackle, linebacker,
pat you know, defensive end. I mean, it sounds good
to have that position flex as long as your body
can handle it, as long as as if you've you've
done the preparation beforehand to get there. And it's just

(13:41):
not it's not as easy, you know. That's why Zach Martin,
as great as he is, Zach Martin did not want
to play tackle. He was very adamant about that because
he knew that he was gonna have to be different.
He couldn't just play in the same kind of level
that he would have probably figured it out would have been okay.
I think he would have been a good tackle. I
really do. I don't think he would have been a
Hall of Fame tackle I can I say that, And

(14:02):
I know that's that's tough to say because what Zach
Martin could or couldn't do, But I really believe that.
All right, let's go to Anthony in Miami. Anthony, what's
up man?

Speaker 6 (14:13):
See Bamber and Nick the quick? What's up? My god?

Speaker 12 (14:18):
I'm doing pretty good, man, pretty good? How'd you been?

Speaker 1 (14:21):
I can't complain it all.

Speaker 12 (14:23):
That's hey, that's what it is, man. I told them
stopped at work. I missed on Wednesday.

Speaker 6 (14:29):
So I'm going to work and I go throlled over
to the gass and to the.

Speaker 13 (14:33):
And we just tried and I got there.

Speaker 6 (14:35):
I'm shocked.

Speaker 12 (14:36):
So hey, man, listen here, I had some pet cats
where Brian calls him. I stole that from him. But
you know unherited guys, and that was last year and
they were rick O'donalden, Jaylen Tobert. I told you that
Jewanney Thomas, and I was like, those guys don't get
to shine, but I.

Speaker 6 (14:55):
Need them to step up.

Speaker 12 (14:56):
And you kind of agree to say, these guys are
gonna have to be the guys because you can't those.

Speaker 6 (15:00):
Big names, so they did pretty good.

Speaker 12 (15:03):
Let him testowns, gonna let him wrestling, so I did
pretty good on that. So I'm bringing Julan Ye back
because he's gonna be live. Jeanie Thomas is just gonna
be my breakout start. I don't know if they happen
this year, next year.

Speaker 6 (15:14):
But he I just see it in him. So I'm
bringing him.

Speaker 12 (15:17):
Back in the man three year guys to that and
then I'll hang up. Those guys are Miles Standers. I
don't know why these people are down on my Sanders Man.
Miles Sander's gonna shock y'all. He's gonna shock a lot
of people.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
You agree, Yeah, I kind of think I've been asked too.
I think is gonna win the running back thing, and
I he's the guy I'm picking, even though I see
Droonte out there a little bit more. Miles, I don't know.
I just have a I'm kind of like you on that.
I just feel like he's gonna do something there.

Speaker 12 (15:48):
Yeah, just you go to, man, how many team touchdowns
and twelve hundred sixty yards? Come on, man, he's not
washed that five seven.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
He had a room. That offensive line, he had a
good offensive line. Did not have that. Yeah, I think
he's going to have that again in Dallas. And so
with that being the case, I think he's gonna have
a big role.

Speaker 6 (16:07):
I really I believe that exactly.

Speaker 12 (16:10):
For here's the last two. We're gonna bring on kneeling. Oh,
Mashawn kneeling.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Yeah, you know he's that.

Speaker 12 (16:16):
He's that the markets ones is not gonna probably get
the sacks. That man, he's gonna set that is, he's
gonna continue to sit when he gets in there, because
I don't know if he's gonna start, but when he
gets in there, whatever, he's gonna say it. And the man,
I love the interview here with the young lady Nicole.

Speaker 6 (16:30):
I like this.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
God.

Speaker 12 (16:31):
The last one at least a guy because you know
in Park, Texas now a guy that's from my dad's
hometown with Jersey City, Texas, Houston, King of No Virginia.

Speaker 6 (16:39):
Okay, don't sleep on them.

Speaker 12 (16:41):
People, please don't sleep on him.

Speaker 6 (16:43):
He's gonna be bad.

Speaker 12 (16:44):
He should be starting that linebacker. He's gonna bring some
experience to it.

Speaker 6 (16:48):
So I'm ready. I'm ready.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Those are good. Those are good ones. Yeah, Miles and
and Murry, both those guys, are you know veterans that
they're bringing in. Uh, they got a little something to prove.
I mean everybody has something prove, but in their own way.
And then Niland as well. You know, Niland gets an
interception off a deck first first practice, I believe, you know,
and you know his job is is not gonna be

(17:11):
to get interceptions, Like you said, his job may not
even be first and foremost to get sacked. It's it's
gonna be set in the edge of playing a run.
But you know, he gets an interception there in his
first first practice. But I think what that is shows
the awareness number one, and also the ability to drop
it and and you know, flexibility to move around. So uh, good,
good choices. I hope they need those guys, they really do.

(17:33):
They need cheap I say this all the time. They
need cheap superstars, guys that that that are cheap in
their contract. But they're gonna take it to another level
and be a superstar. They need those guys for sure.
Those would be great. All right, let's go to Rick
in Massachusetts's next. Rick, Good are you?

Speaker 3 (17:53):
I'm all right?

Speaker 7 (17:53):
And it's working time, different type thing.

Speaker 12 (17:57):
Cool, but yeah, of course I have had afford from
Brian Roberts, whatever.

Speaker 7 (18:04):
Is that they might be, you know, not you're looking
for that trying to use the one tech but used
maybe the one tech into the using the gaps instead
and just having Solomon, Thomas and Mazie and a few
other people just switching in and.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
Out like that.

Speaker 7 (18:22):
The other thing too, is my favorite free agent player
that they picked up with I think looked up with
Jack Samborn.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Yeah, yeah, I mean he has a chance to be
really good for sure, and.

Speaker 7 (18:38):
Doesn't Donovan and as Laco and them guys on the line,
but that Micah, they look like to bebe a force
to force to work well, work with u Mi sol
When Mica comes in, it's gonna be a lot more tougher.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
Yeah, for sure. Yeah, I mean this is the time
you get those opportunities for sure, that these guys that
aren't playing, and they'll get a chance to do some
things as well. All right, I appreciate it. Thanks for
the call, Rick, Thank you. I weren't going to break
here real quick on Cowboys storyline, We'll be right back
after this.

Speaker 14 (19:16):

Speaker 7 (20:56):
Here.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Nick Eatman, Friday, July twenty fifth, on Cowboys Storyline presented
by Gillette. I had five callers so far at five
to the last show. So we're flying around here doing
a little bit better this time, as I knew we would.
Let's go to our phone line with Brandon in Fresno, California. Brandon,

(21:17):
what's up man?

Speaker 6 (21:18):
What's up? Nick?

Speaker 3 (21:19):
I've seen you on Tuesday, the first day. We were
talking right there on the sideline.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
That's right. He said, are you coming to the practice
probably tomorrow?

Speaker 3 (21:28):
Yes, I'll probably be there tomorrow. I probably won't be
on that same side. I'll probably be on the opposite side,
got it, But but I'll be there. You promised me that, YETI.

Speaker 5 (21:37):
H now.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
I just wanted to say, man, it was a pleasure
meeting you, and it was. It was awesome just to
just to get contact with you and stuff like that,
and you love the show and grab the shows back
on and everything. I just enjoyed the day. I just
wanted to say, I enjoyed the energy from from first
day of training camp. Man, it just seemed like from
the last couple of training camps I've been there, it's
you can see the energy is just picking up.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Right.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
One thing that I did pick up is that it
seemed like Overshown was like really like working, you know,
so it seems like he might be back center than
what people think.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Yeah, yeah, I know about that. I mean, I don't
know what people think there. I mean, it's Overshown things
he could play right now, and that's the that's the
whole thing you've got to be kind of careful with.
But but I've heard everything as far as him not
not playing at all this year to you know, maybe
four six weeks into the season, I don't know, I mean,

(22:32):
he you know, but he's he's moving around pretty good
and and he's and he's and he's paying attention just
like Micah is on the sideline. That that's that's what's great.
So they're getting those mental reps.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
Yeah, I've seen them working right there in the front
right there on the first day, but kind of by
themselves over shown and it was Micah and I think
it was uh one linebacker over there. Yeah, but they're
getting there working. So I just again, like I said,
it was a pleasure meeting here. It was awesome, like
hopefully I can see tomorrow. Yeah, And I always give you,
I always give you a number fifty nine.

Speaker 8 (23:04):
That win.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
Yeah, get a story about.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
Him well other than that, and I'll hang up and
I'll listen.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
I appreciate it. The only story about that win, or
the most recent is when I was trying to remember
the phone line just now to tweet out the phone
that I was trying to remember my head, so I
said sixteen fifty nine. So I was like, Ryan Leaf
that win in my head. That's what I said. That
was about like thirty minutes ago. That win story, My
favorite that win story is the one he tells about

(23:33):
being his very first practice, that they put him out
there and his rookie year. He got to be in
an Ota or whatever they called him back then, and
he was out there with all the veterans and they
put him there and they're like that, you're right, in
the middle and they break the huddle and he turns
and he looks and he sees he's staring right at
Tray aightman, and then right behind him is Emet and

(23:56):
then there's you know, there's Michael Irvin going in motion,
Darryl Johnston. And he was like, oh my god, I
cannot believe the Dallas and they snapped the ball and
he's staring right out. He didn't even move, and Campo
ripped him a new one, so bad Zimmer, all those
guys over there, he was like, are you not ready

(24:16):
for this? You know, because he really was lost in
the moment. But he figured it out and he got
he was a really good player. And another thing, another
story I remember by him is and this is something
that I actually kind of adapt into life leadership and
things like that. I remember Bill Parcell's telling a story
about you know, first of all, he didn't want that

(24:37):
win or Dexterra Cokeley because they were too small. They
were not Pepper Johnson, they were not Harry Carson, they
were not the linebackers. He remembers Gary reason from the
Giants they were too small to play in the NFL.
And then Zimmer was like, why don't you just give
him a chance. And then he loved him. He loved that,
and he loved Cokeley and and because they were really
good players. But he said something about that win. He said,
you know, he's one of those guys that he's so

(24:59):
good you don't even worry about. You don't even think
about it. You don't even have to go over and
ask if you're doing okay, how you doing, how you feeling?
Did you get that yesterday? You know, they're so good.
He's like, you got to be careful with people like that,
because you can't. They all need love and attention, you know,
they all need some of that. And he was. He
was one of those guys that I had to remind myself,
even if you think he's great, make sure and check

(25:22):
in on him. And I think about that just in
in in life, even your your friends, your coworkers, things
like that. People that you're like, they're always good, they're
always in they still still should probably check in and
see how they're doing, still, make sure everything was good.
I always remember that story and I kind of think
about it. So that's probably not the football story you
were thinking of, but that's that's what I that's what

(25:42):
comes to mind for me. All right, let's go to
uh coach tie in d C is our next caller.
Coach tie Man, I take a.

Speaker 6 (25:54):
Play, Nick.

Speaker 5 (25:56):
I got a couple of things, but I'm an start,
you know what I mean, DC, And I've called.

Speaker 6 (26:01):
A couple of times.

Speaker 12 (26:02):
I think the last time I talked to you it
was I was talking to you about one of.

Speaker 5 (26:06):
My students, schools shorter than everything that's talking trashing me
about the commanders.

Speaker 6 (26:13):
And he's going to eighth grade this year, which is amazing.
I don't know anyway, but heah. Yeah.

Speaker 16 (26:20):
But so my my, my comment.

Speaker 5 (26:23):
Today is about the division, Man, and the division to
me is up for grabs.

Speaker 6 (26:31):
And I say that because I think everybody.

Speaker 17 (26:35):
Looks at what the final result is and nobody takes
it to context how you get to the result, because
context makes everything or or it explains the story.

Speaker 5 (26:49):
So long story, so I ain't gonna hold you. The
Dallas Cowboys last year, everything that could.

Speaker 6 (26:55):
Goes all went wrong.

Speaker 12 (26:56):
Injuries, you know, all of the above, Well everything that
went everything that went well last year, right, the Dallas
Cowboys still won seven games last year. With all of
the stuff that happened, we still won seven games.

Speaker 6 (27:15):
And I'm speaking.

Speaker 16 (27:16):
Specifically to the to the division because of course.

Speaker 18 (27:19):
I'm listening to National TV and all that stuff, and
they're talking about, well, the Dallas Cowboys can't run the ball,
they can't stop the running, YadA, YadA, YadA.

Speaker 12 (27:31):
Last year we ended up we finished twenty ninth in
run defense. You know who was thirtieth The Washington Commanders. Yeah,
the Washington Commanders won five games by one point last year,
and one being a hell married there happens once in
a blue moon, okay, number three. The on top of that,

(27:56):
when the Washington Commanders and the Dallas Cowboys played each other,
the Dallas Cowboys won the game with the backup quarterback,
with the backup quarterback, and then the last game had
the third.

Speaker 16 (28:09):
String quarterback player and with six seconds away for him
in that game. So I found it hard pressed big
in DC to believe that the Washington Commanders are head
over heels better than the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 12 (28:27):
And we didn't have half of our team, including our
staring quarterback, not playing am if.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
No, no, you're not at all. I don't think. I
don't think Washington was a better football team than the Cowboys.
I don't get I don't care who would be sitting
right here to say that that's that's a fact. They
played twice. They weren't better than the Cowboys both times,
so record wise, yeah better? How far that they went
much further? I give them all that, but line them

(28:55):
up and play and who was better both times? And so.

Speaker 6 (28:59):
Good?

Speaker 1 (29:00):
No, no, right, you go ahead, you're.

Speaker 19 (29:01):
Nothing, nothing, nothing, So we're going off of of course,
everybody's going to go off of what happened last year,
but nothing plays out from last year the way that
it's going to play out this year.

Speaker 6 (29:13):
So kick the ball.

Speaker 12 (29:15):
We have a we have a motto at my school, put.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
The ball down.

Speaker 16 (29:19):
We don't care.

Speaker 12 (29:20):
Pack the ball down, and we will figure out what's gonna.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
Happen to that exactly. Now. You're you're not wrong. They're
Washington fansy. They had, they had a good season, They
had a good run. I think somebody explained or compared
it to me, very similar to what the Cowboys had
in twenty sixteen with dak as the rookie, and they
just caught like being in a bottle, and and they

(29:43):
had a lot of wins. You run it back and
you play it again and and they're and maybe they're
ten and six, maybe they're nine and seven, they were
thirteen and three. It was a magical season. But you
play that season again for Washington. Give them credit for
winning the games, give them credit for winning those football games,
but you know they had they had way more wins

(30:03):
like that then they had losses that were close. And
so I I, you know, I don't think that when
you say this team's seven and ten, this team made
the NFC Championship game, I don't think that the margin
is that that great as it sounds when you're talking
about how different those two seasons were.

Speaker 6 (30:23):
Yeah, I just wanted to make sure.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
But here here's the big thing.

Speaker 6 (30:28):
Knowledgeable about it.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Okay, But if you're going to say that, and you're
gonna say based off of those two games and how
close they were, that's great. But if you're if you're
also got to remember this, you know, Philadelphia was like
eighty five to thirteen. Eighty five to thirteen. Philadelphia beat
them last year or something like that, eighty three. So

(30:49):
that's where that's where they got to close the true
I mean one.

Speaker 12 (30:54):
Game, both games, and history has history has should Dak
Prescott in my opinion, it's still the best quarterback in
this division, and it's pure quarterback.

Speaker 6 (31:09):
Pure quarterback. James Williams Jamie Daniels is not enough sample size.

Speaker 4 (31:13):
I'm sorry, I don't care.

Speaker 6 (31:15):
They said the same thing about c. J. Stroud last
year and then he regrets back to the me. Okay,
all right, so let's see what what defenses do when
they got to guarritate on Jane Dames.

Speaker 12 (31:25):
Yeah, okay, the the the Eagles and speaking them up again.
They played two games get best last year without Dak Prescott.
Dack Prescott has a winning record against the Philadelphia Eagles
in his career.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
Well, you're right, and he didn't, don't.

Speaker 6 (31:43):
I mean, I'm and I'm not taking anything away. I
can't stand in Philly, Washington or the James. Okay, they
ain't like none of them.

Speaker 12 (31:50):
I'm not taking anything away from Philly.

Speaker 6 (31:52):
They won, they won the Super Bowl.

Speaker 12 (31:54):
Congratulations, keep a move.

Speaker 6 (31:56):
But if you mean, if.

Speaker 20 (31:57):
You're sitting here telling me I went as a coach,
you're seeing were telling me that we can't compete and
we're just automatically third in this division.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
No, no, no, I hear you, all right, coach, I
appreciate it. Thanks for for the call. You're you're not
off on that, and uh, don't let those eighth graders
talk crap to you, man boy, that's a that's an
age though, good good luck with that one. You're dealing
with the smartest people in the world, and people that
are going into the eighth grades haven't the eighth grade genius?
All right, good stuff. I mean, I'm I'm I'm with

(32:34):
you on that, but I'm also like a realist as well,
like like, they're gonna have to show it again and
they're gonna have to show that they are healthy. Do
I think that they can do this? So I think
this thing's gonna hold up. I hope so, but uh,
there's this there's a little Cowboys banner here that's flying around.

(32:54):
I think that potentially the Cowboys could. They're right there.
They're still right there with Washington. I thought they were
last year when they played. They're not though with Philadelphia,
And you're right, Dak wasn't there. So Dak has to
prove he can be there. They have to prove that
they've they've made up a difference there. I don't think
I love Dak, but it's what eighty to thirteen something

(33:15):
like that. He's not that good, not not for that,
not to not to change those margins now. But I
understand how football goes. You know, you score it, you know,
you score in the first quarter, you score, you get
that touchdown in the second quarter, you make it a game.
It's a completely different football game. I understand that. I

(33:36):
understand how you know, a player two here and there
can change everything. And it changed it from getting to
a blowout. But I just think they have long ways
to go to kind of catch up to Philly. Having
Dak and having healthy guys on that offensive line and
having you know, Mica play most all the season would
be great too, getting some some more turnovers. So there's

(33:56):
some things that have to happen, though, And Washington's gonna
get better. You gotta remember that Washington, it's gonna get better.
Dan Quinn's a really good coach. We know this. Jane
Daniels if he is, if he's the dude that he
looks to be, and he's gonna get better, you know.
And so they they were they were pretty even with
Washington last year, very even with Washington. Can can they

(34:16):
stay that way? You know? And and can because Washington's
gonna get better. Have the Cowboys gotten better too? And
be careful for the Giants. You know, you can't just
keep getting top five picks and expect them not to
be good. At some point, a defensive line looks salty
over there. I mean, the they have a they have
a potential front four that that would be the best
in the league, especially if a Bill Carter is as

(34:39):
good as he seems to be and you go across
the board with all their defensive line, that's pretty scary,
so you know, and that's the kind of stuff that
can win you games. We saw him win Super Bowls
with with defensive line and not really because of their
offense and their quarterbacks. So all that to say, the
NFC is going to be really, really tough. All right,
Lewis and Length and Oklahoma before we go.

Speaker 13 (34:59):
To breaton, Hey, what's going on?

Speaker 1 (35:02):
How are you doing?

Speaker 12 (35:04):
Man?

Speaker 5 (35:04):
Not bad?

Speaker 9 (35:05):
Not bad?

Speaker 21 (35:05):
Been trying to get in like everybody else. I'm just
glad we're back on the radio where we can talk
about this and and and and rejoice and be mad
all at the same time.

Speaker 1 (35:15):
Yeap, what's that other than that?

Speaker 12 (35:18):
Man?

Speaker 19 (35:18):
I was just calling.

Speaker 21 (35:19):
I know it's a couple of days into it, so
I can't really ask a whole bunch.

Speaker 6 (35:24):
I just wanted to.

Speaker 21 (35:24):
See what you thought about uh these last couple of days,
these last couple of days, like an overview of how
has been going with the conferences and so, like, how
has anything surprised you or shocked you?

Speaker 12 (35:36):
And these couple of days?

Speaker 13 (35:37):
And I'll take it off there and I'll call when
I can't.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
Well, what what what has surprised you before? I mean,
what what? What is something that surprised you?

Speaker 22 (35:46):
To me?

Speaker 21 (35:48):
Man, I always I was listening to uh Rob the
other day and I'm not okay when it comes to
Mr Jones.

Speaker 12 (36:00):
I love him to death, but.

Speaker 21 (36:02):
Lord, sometimes I feel like he talks way too much
crap about the players. And I know that it's part
of the game. Sometimes you gotta read between the lines.

Speaker 12 (36:11):
Like the Michael Parson's thing.

Speaker 6 (36:13):
We've seen that with Daz, we send it with d
we send it with.

Speaker 21 (36:16):
The Mark, We've seen it with all kinds of people.
To me, the biggest thing that was surprising is the
way he was talking about Diggs, and so that kind
of it kind of threw a rechary, like, Hey, if.

Speaker 6 (36:28):
This doesn't work out for Diggs, I can see him doing.

Speaker 21 (36:30):
The Mark Cooper thing, like, hey, I figure it out
at the end of the year and.

Speaker 12 (36:35):
You gotta go that.

Speaker 21 (36:36):
That's how I looked at it and the scenes and
it may not be that way, but that's kind.

Speaker 6 (36:40):
Of what I heard.

Speaker 12 (36:42):
Outside of that, all of the players say the same thing.
And then the the interview with.

Speaker 21 (36:47):
Prescott and did I mean Uh President Michael and dig Yeah, yeah, yeah,
that was that was entertaining.

Speaker 12 (36:54):
It was entertaining.

Speaker 21 (36:55):
It surprised me because I wasn't expecting it, but it
was entertaining.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
Save the lands.

Speaker 21 (36:59):
Other than that man, like I said, it isn't it
kind of talking see see the videos.

Speaker 6 (37:04):
We can set the interviews what I can.

Speaker 21 (37:07):
But those are the two things that kind of stood
out to me as far as surprises.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
All right, So yeah, I was a little surprised. Thanks
for the call, Lewis. I was a little surprised to
see Micah and Uh and Digs do a joint interview
like that, and they're they're the two guys that were
a big part of yesterday or the day before press conference,
and you're asking questions to both of them and they
they they're answering each other's questions and Mike's eating watermelon

(37:34):
and sitting there. I mean, the whole thing was a
little weird, but it was good. It was entertaining. Like
you said, I don't know what's been surprising though, I mean,
not not really anything of of yet. I mean they
haven't pats haven't come on yet, so it's not like
real real football practice yet. But this is kind of
an extension of the OTAs in mini camps and things

(37:57):
like that, just bringing it out here. So we haven't
really seen a whole lot yet, Uh, seeing a little
chippy for whether or not to be that hot and
for there not to be pads on a lot of energy.
And when that happens, you get good energy. And I'm
not saying you get bad energy, but you just get energy.
You put a bunch of kids together and you know,

(38:18):
rambunctious kids that are you know, drinking a lot of
pepsi and mountain dew all all day long, then they're
probably gonna have fun and be crazy that every once
in a while, I might get a little scuffle. That's
kind of what we're seeing out here. I think our
media team is gonna put together something here on on
Brian Schottenheim. Ray was micd up in yesterday's practice. That's

(38:42):
something we're working on. You're gonna like it. You're gonna
like it, just like you most guys. Most of you
guys like what you've seen so far. To Brian, I mean,
he's been he's been really good off season with the media,
he's entertaining, he's cool to listen to. I'm I'm telling
you like you'll like. You'll like the version that we

(39:03):
put out. You would like the HPO Hard Knocks version
a lot better if that were to be the case. Uh,
he's not afraid to tell people what he thinks, his players,
his coaches. If you think there's a honeymoon factor here
with him and kind of easing into it, that's that.
That's over. He's he is, He's ready to roll. And uh,

(39:25):
it was cool to watch. I would love for the
fans to be able to see everything that we saw,
but uh, you know that's not exactly how it goes.
But but it still is pretty good. Chris. Where we think,
are we going to go to break or we got
a couple more callers, let's keep their calls, keep the
calls going. We got Chris and San Angelo, Texas.

Speaker 10 (39:41):
Chris West up, mister Nicks Oxnor treating.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
You Rock Snart is great, my friend.

Speaker 10 (39:50):
There you go.

Speaker 6 (39:50):
That's good to hear.

Speaker 1 (39:51):
How are you doing?

Speaker 6 (39:53):
You know what you know?

Speaker 10 (39:54):
Well, sant Angelo? You know it's like a little bit
like groundhog Day right now.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
You know, I gotta, I gotta, I gotta send out
a tweet here later today because that reminds me of
San Angelo, which is Angelo State is in San Angelo, Texas, Yes, sir,
and that they're in the lone Star Conference. Yes, sir,
Chris is laughing at me. I'll send out a tweet later.
I'm not gonna I'm not gonna bore people with my

(40:23):
awards here. I'll send it out later. Anyways, just follow.

Speaker 10 (40:29):
I won't there.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
But you know, I'm not that you out there.

Speaker 10 (40:31):
I don't hold much allegiance to it, you know.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
So it's okay, all right, all good, all right, you
got it.

Speaker 6 (40:38):
Here I go.

Speaker 10 (40:40):
I'll talking about why I want to talk about wide receivers.
You know, obviously you know Sidi and picking.

Speaker 4 (40:48):
Or are there.

Speaker 10 (40:49):
And it's it's a lot more fun looking for a
number three than it is a number two. So that's
all good.

Speaker 6 (40:56):
But with that being said.

Speaker 10 (40:59):
Who I haven't heard a whole lot about who might
be running for I guess the most playing time, not
necessarily the number three. I haven't heard much out from
Wingo or Mingo or Holding or even Campbell. Haven't heard

(41:19):
anything about him. So I was just wondering, if you just.

Speaker 1 (41:23):
Eyeball or word that you've heard.

Speaker 10 (41:27):
If anyone's kind of coming to the forefront on that.

Speaker 1 (41:31):
Yeah, you know, what a great problem to have for them.
I mean, they they do, I don't know. I mean,
I see Tolbert making plays, to see Mingo making some plays.
He's finally getting past his throw in his direction. That's nice.
Turpin's going to be out there. Turpin's doing stuff. Those
five guys are I feel like those are the leaders.

(41:54):
And I'm you know, obviously CD and Pickens, you know,
those first two and then and then after that, nobody
is really stood out too much. Flinoy gets some some
reps here. I feel like I'm missing a player or two,
but it's really those five. Those five are the guys
that you know, they didn't I don't think they drafted

(42:16):
a receiver. They got Holding from Oregon as an undrafted player.
You know Cropper, Terrence Cropper been here in three years.
He does a pretty good job. He'll make some plays
here and there, But you know that that room's gonna
be gonna be tough for anyone to kind of get
in there, because because I just think they like what
they what they have with Tolbert, Mingo and Turpin in

(42:39):
a three four five. You know, I'll take that three
four five against a lot of people in the league's
three four five. If you think about it, three four
and five receivers, those three now you say that you
add them with the one and two's that you could
you could go up against anyone else in the league.
So one to five, it's a really strong It's probably

(43:00):
the deepest position they've got, and that's that's great. And
not only do they have him on the roster, they're
having them out here at practice. I'm ready to see CD.
Just do a Micah, I'm done. I've seen what I
need to see with CD. I'm good. I know it's
good to get the reps and get the continuity and
all that, and you need that at times. But he
looks good man, he see he looks ready to roll,

(43:21):
like he's ready for the season.

Speaker 6 (43:22):
To start. All right, that's awesome.

Speaker 4 (43:26):
That's awesome to hear, Nick.

Speaker 10 (43:29):
So I appreciate you, man, And hey, the YETI is beautiful.

Speaker 6 (43:35):
Thank you and.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
All right, no problem, glad you like it. I hope
everybody got there. I know one person didn't. We're working
on that. But hopefully everybody else I didn't see he
get returned in the mail room, so they should be there.
There may be one that we're missing there. But all right,
let's keep it going. Jeremy in Salt Lake City.

Speaker 6 (43:58):
Hey, what's going Nick?

Speaker 1 (43:59):
Good? How you doing?

Speaker 6 (44:01):
I'm good? How you doing?

Speaker 4 (44:02):
Good?

Speaker 1 (44:02):
Good? It's on your mind?

Speaker 6 (44:04):
Good?

Speaker 23 (44:05):
Never heard if your daughter ended up going to Oklahoma.
I know we talked about that because mine does.

Speaker 1 (44:11):
But yes, she is there, Yes he will be in
a couple of weeks. That is that is the case.
That is going to change our world right there in
my pocketbook. But but no, it's great. Yeah, definitely, man,
I feel Yeah, they don't cut corners on anything. Uh no,
but she's super excited. And yeah, that's just I can't

(44:35):
believe I have a daughter going to college, but I
also have one going to kindergarten, So you know, how
about that?

Speaker 6 (44:41):
Yeah, well you got me beat there.

Speaker 23 (44:42):
Man, she's my last one. So but I don't know, yeah,
kind of yeah, yeah, you definitely are. So I kind
of wanted to you guys kind of touched on what
I want to talk about, like some of our positions
that we were kind of thin on last year. I'm
looking through my Star magazine by the way, you know,

(45:05):
my training Camp edition, which is awesome and thanks guys
for putting that out. But man, I'm looking at some
of these positions, you know, especially like receiver you guys
just talked about, and then but running back and defensive end. Man,
we're gonna be putting some good players on the street.

Speaker 1 (45:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 23 (45:23):
I just don't see how, especially at that defensive end position.
And it's such a commodity. Do you see any like
I don't know if we had possible trade capital or
something we can do with some of these players, because
I would hate to see some of these guys out
on the street, you know what I mean. I don't

(45:43):
see how Deuce makes it, you know, I don't. But
at the same time, I was watching drills the other
day and he's got the best feet of all of
these running backs that's out there. So I just kind
of want to know your opinion on that kind of one,
those kind of two positions.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
The thing about Deuce is that I think he's always
going to look great out here in these practices, especially
when you're not getting tackled. He's always going to look
great against backups in preseason games. I think where he's
got to really turn the corner and be and be
be the man is to play against real NFL players
that tackle. I mean, and I'm not trying to be

(46:22):
funny about it. I'm just saying, like we've seen that,
we've seen him excel, but when in the regular season
games when he's had limited times, he hasn't had a lot.
But there's probably reasons for that because he's not really
doing it in practice either against those kind of competitions.
He's got to take it to another level. And so,
h he's gonna have to to stand out here in
practice preseason, and then if they decide to keep him,

(46:43):
he's gonna have to shine and and and you know,
and actually jump his game to to that next level.
But uh, you're right, he's quick, he's he's doing something.

Speaker 12 (46:52):
Now.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
He had a chance to make a catch in the
back of the end zone, that was Milton was rolling, uh,
scrambling in on a goal line drill and he had
he had deuce going at the back of the end zone,
kind of streaking from one side to the other, and
it would have been a great place. He just dropped it,
you know, and he knows it. He knows that he
needed that one. But yeah, he's getting opportunities for sure.

(47:14):
All right, let's go to break here real quick on

Back to Cowboys Storylinets, Welcome back to beautiful auxen Are
in California. So beautiful with the sun here today. Uh,
I wasn't expecting. I wasn't expecting it to be this
sunny right now, but it is certainly nice. We're not complaining.

(48:45):
We're not complaining about the weather. A lot of you
guys are dealing with the triple digits. We are not.
It's been it's been a little it's been a little
toasty right now here for the last hour, but there's
been a lot of fun to talk to you guys.
And let's keep it going real quick before we end it.
Lester in Minnesota is next Leicester. What's talk about.

Speaker 12 (49:03):
How you doing that?

Speaker 1 (49:04):
How are you doing?

Speaker 6 (49:06):
I'm doing good.

Speaker 22 (49:07):
I celebrated a birthday yesterday. I tried to get on Wednesday,
but I didn't have.

Speaker 10 (49:10):
A new number.

Speaker 1 (49:12):
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Wednesday would have been a challenge
for you and everyone to get on There's It wasn't
the easiest show, uh to to to participate in. But
happy birthday or related birthday? And uh what you got
for me?

Speaker 14 (49:30):
Man?

Speaker 22 (49:31):
Hey, I just wanted to say a few little points there.
I'm hearing a lot of good things about the d
N that we drafted. Right, he got that band that
we're looking for the band and go get him.

Speaker 1 (49:45):
I'd like to see I want to see the hula
hoop drill that the Marcus were had with him, and
I want to see that because nobody did it better
than d Ware. But I'm telling you, as a Rocky,
you're right about that. He is. He is kind of
kind of bendi that way. It's good.

Speaker 22 (50:01):
Yeah, it's like gumby man.

Speaker 1 (50:03):
I was trying to think of, Yeah, well, you know
it's good too because he's getting that opportunity with Mike
out and you know the only thing about Micah being out,
like I'm fine with it because he's not missing too much.
I just I don't want to hear wow steal Steel

(50:25):
looks great and and and Guidon looks great this year, Like,
all right, block Micah three times in a row and
without the quarterback having to stop the drill, and then
we'll see how we're doing, you know what I mean.
So that's what practice is for. You want your best
players to go up iron sharpens iron. You want to
see that. So, uh, it's gonna be hard to do that.

(50:46):
And I just remembered I didn't answer a question earlier
about Terrence Steele, So I'll do that here in a second.
But what else you got.

Speaker 4 (50:54):
Lower file?

Speaker 22 (50:55):
How is he looking? How's Booker looking? And thing is is?

Speaker 6 (51:01):
Man, I'm really.

Speaker 22 (51:02):
Excited about this Pickens, Like I said, Man, I look up.

Speaker 6 (51:05):
I looked up his U his stats.

Speaker 13 (51:08):
He got a ninety eight catch radiance.

Speaker 12 (51:11):
He's only ninety eight out of one hundred.

Speaker 22 (51:13):
Man, that's Randy Moss.

Speaker 8 (51:14):
Tight.

Speaker 22 (51:14):
I'm not saying he is Randy Moss. I'm just saying
anything near him he's going to go get love it
no matter where it is.

Speaker 1 (51:24):
That is exciting. Who was your first player? You said
before Booker.

Speaker 6 (51:29):
Uh loa found.

Speaker 1 (51:31):
Lepleph sorry Leaphole, Sorry you got me. Yeah, I was
like I was confused a little bit. Leah found Yeah,
I don't want to hear that. I don't hear that
stuff like that because then I'll say it, and then
I said, then I'll get crucified for it. So, uh
marys Lee foul, Okay, thanks for the call. Uh, let's
appreciate that. I have a good day, all right. Leah

(51:52):
Foule looks quick man, he looks he looks very very
alert to the ball. I mean that that's again only
so many things you can tell at this time of year.
But but he he knows where he needs to be.
And you know, he's not the biggest looking linebacker in
the world, you know, but he we just talked about
that win in Dextra coke Le's not really on that level.
He's a little taller than that, but he's not the biggest,

(52:14):
but he does he does deliver a pop you know
it Overshown's kind of the same way. Those guys, I mean,
they're they're not you know, they don't go out there
and just you know, look like these goliath type players,
but they they definitely have a have a way of hitting,
and Leafl is doing that. I think he's doing nice. Booker,

(52:36):
you know, seems to be doing fine. Let's see what
happens when the Pats come on. We'll see someone on
one drills. I'm excited to see that. And then, like
you said, George Pickens makes a highlight or two every day.
That's it's so a CD. So that dynamic duo looks really,
really good. Let's go one more caller before we ended,
josh and Chicago. Joshua's up, Bud, how are you man?

Speaker 13 (52:57):
I'm so glad I got him today. So I'm gonna
be in the school for the next month and I
don't think I'm able to call him at all. So
all right, so glad to get in today.

Speaker 1 (53:05):
I'm glad.

Speaker 13 (53:07):
But yeah, I have two points and a quick shout
out if I could really quick. So my shout out
is too Ali and Irene.

Speaker 4 (53:15):
They he'll pay up with the.

Speaker 13 (53:17):
Pope Leo Rosary. So I just want to.

Speaker 3 (53:18):
Say thank you to both of them.

Speaker 13 (53:19):
That so full kind and I love this community.

Speaker 1 (53:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (53:25):
My biggest observation so far, most exciting thing I have
to say is Agent zero running down on the sidelines.

Speaker 6 (53:31):
All over Twitter the other day.

Speaker 13 (53:32):
I think he's playing this year.

Speaker 1 (53:34):
Yeah, he'll he'll play. He'll play this year, but he'll play.
He's getting there.

Speaker 13 (53:38):
I think he'll play at twenty twenty five. I'll say.

Speaker 1 (53:42):
My hope he'll play.

Speaker 13 (53:43):
What I said I have in twenty twenty five. We
don't have to wait till January for him.

Speaker 1 (53:48):
Yeah, he'll play this year. He'll play this year. Yeah.

Speaker 13 (53:51):
And then my biggest concern this year right now, man,
it's it's for you. You got to get a hat out.

Speaker 1 (53:57):
There or something.

Speaker 13 (54:00):
Yeah, I'm concerned about that.

Speaker 1 (54:02):
Yeah. Well, if that's your biggest concern, Josh, first of all,
thank you. Second of all, you're living a great life,
great life, all of it.

Speaker 13 (54:11):
Hey, I definitely am football's back. The White Socks are
five and one since the break man, I'm loving sports
right now.

Speaker 1 (54:17):
All right, all right, five and one. Huh Yeah that's right, Yeah,
five and thirty April.

Speaker 13 (54:24):
But yeah, yeah, that's true, that's true.

Speaker 1 (54:28):
All right. That reminds me. You say that about Chicago.
You're from Chicago, so that that reminds me. I saw
that meme the Stacey King former. Oh you great, but
he was a journeyman, big guy, and I forget that
the game where Michael scored sixty nine points against the
Cavaliers and he tweeted out, I'll never remember. I'll never

(54:48):
forget the game that me and Michael went for seventies.

Speaker 12 (54:51):
Yeah that's right.

Speaker 13 (54:52):
Yeah, yeah, that's awesome.

Speaker 1 (54:56):
So yeah, no, that's good. Hey, you get this is
the time of year, pull for other teams and you
know baseball. I mean, I'm we're kind of, you know,
keeping an eye on the Rangers. They looking like they're
doing pretty good too. But it's weird as once you
get out here, you kind of you don't even see
even though with with the phones of Twitter and you,
you know, you still have a chance to kind of,
you know, keep up with everything. Still somehow, some way

(55:19):
you gotta we get lost at it, and you know,
you kind of you don't see a lot of stuff
happening in the in the real world of life.

Speaker 4 (55:26):
So but that's what Oh yeah, that's for sure.

Speaker 1 (55:28):
That's what's great about camp. But I love talking to
you guys, Josh. Thank you for the call, Thanks for
wrapping it up for us, all right, you too. All right, guys,
this is the way the show is supposed to be, uh,
We're so happy that we were able to do that,
get twelve good calls in. Fought through the sun, which
is beautiful, fought through the mowers. They're not too bad today.

(55:51):
Chris did a really good job and nothing dropped on us,
which is which is even even greater. All Right, we
will Yeah, the show's not over yet, but we're out there.
We're getting there, all right. The schedule for us, we're
going we go Tuesday and Thursday of next week as well.
We just keep this every other day. We don't do
the weekends every other day. So we'll go Tuesday and

(56:12):
Thursday of next week, and then that following week, which
will be early the first week in August. We will
have three shows Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and that's when some
of the storyliners are supposed to come out, so we'll
figure out how we're gonna get them participating as well.
All right, for everyone. For Chris Beam, I'm Nick Eatman.
We'll see you next time on Cowboys Storyline Presented by Gillette.

Speaker 2 (56:33):
This has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and
