The callers couldn’t be more excited about the addition of Quinnen Williams, who hasn’t just helped the defense overnight but seems to be a fixture in the middle for the future, too.

Speaker 1 (00:04):
The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com
and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
This is Cowboys Storyline presented by Gillette, the official shave
of the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Here's Nick Eatman. Hello and welcome to Cowboys Storyline presented
by Gillette. I'm Nick Eatman. It's Wednesday, November the nineteenth.
Cowboys got three really big games in a row. Well,
you know what, they're all big at this point. Every

(00:42):
game's big when you're four five and one and you
want to make the playoffs. I mean, I think they've
got what seven seven big games to go in a row.
But it starts with the Eagles. Always. It doesn't matter
what the record is, doesn't matter if they're good or
they're Super Bowl defending champs, have the best record in
the league, doesn't matter what the Cowboys are. It is
always going to be a battle, always going to be

(01:02):
a game where you know, this is one that you
certainly want to win, and you know they're fighting for
number one seed as well. So they they look beatable,
but they most teams don't beat them though, you know,
And that's the sign of a really good football team.
Figuring out a way to win, no matter what it
looks like. So the Cowboys are going to obviously have

(01:22):
to do that. We'll talk about it here. Eight and
eight eight five five two two ninety seven. Randy and
Texarkana is on the line, So let's go.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
To Randy Horn and Sunshine.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
How you doing good? How are you doing I'm all right, hey.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
The title of the show is I like it when
they call me big Pop. And then put Quinn's picture
on the little square. There got that out of the way.
I like it, okay, and uh, nobody talked about yesterday.
I'm back up to the last game quick. The touchdown
that didn't happen by picking the dude's falling out of

(01:58):
bounds and caught that ball at one hand, never put
another hand on it and security. That was incredible. I
don't care if it was in a touchdown. That was
an incredible case. Yeah, he's sick and the dude is
just full of stuff like that. And then the other
incredible thing was uh Tyler gotten delayed lebron flop. That

(02:19):
was hilarious. Dude, that cracked me up when he did that.
I don't know you being in the stadium, if you
got a good replay of it or not.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
But hated it, actually hated it and even tweeted that
and everyone's like, no, no, it was funny. I just
I don't know. Well I know exactly why. Okay, I
know why, but but to say it on the air,
I don't know. So yeah, I'm not. I'm not a
fan of of that kind of move.

Speaker 5 (02:48):
I'm the.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Way it went down, right, I mean this what this
would be, you know, Man City storyline or something like that,
if we were sitting there going to do the watch
sock or you know Chelsea storyline here. Oh yeah, I
mean that's what they do. That's why I don't watch
soccer all the time because I can't get over that.
You know, you get excited about the World Cup and
all this how we're gonna do blah blah, what group

(03:12):
are we in? And then you see that and you're like,
all right, when's football? See. I'm sorry. I mean that's
just the way. I'm not. I'm not a fan of
the flopping, especially.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
When yeah, and I'm not either. I really hate it,
especially in basketball. That's why I call it the Lebron thinking.
I can't deal with the Lebron flop. So but it
was just the way he did it.

Speaker 6 (03:33):
It was hilarious.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
It was a clown move of the day for sure.
But moving on to the Eagle, if we beat that team,
you see how excited everybody was yesterday we beat the Raiders.
If we beat the Eagles, you may have to take
a day off just to let everybody calm down before
they call in it. It's gonna be crazy if we

(03:55):
win that game.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Well, you know that there's no days off with Thanksgiving
right around the corner. It will it will make for
a very fun you know, jam packed three days and
you got the Chiefs come to town. They've never faced
Patrick Mahomes at the stadium. All that. It's gonna be
that way regardless. But man, if you beat the if
you beat the Eagles to get to five hundred, go

(04:18):
you know, get to five five and one, and you know,
you never know, you never know what happens. Was Parcela
always say about Thanksgiving and that's when you know, see
how you are. So it would be a lot of fun,
but you know, pandemonium, all right, all right?

Speaker 6 (04:31):
Yes, Randy tell tell Rob hey.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
I feel you on the camera in the truck. I
got that situation going down in my own truck. And
also Irene. She's the greatest Irene ever. Hey, say to
your mom love y'all.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
See, yep, she's the greatest Irene ever. That's awesome. There's
a movie. Remember that movie, Me, myself and Irene. All right,
good stuff, Randy. Let's go to Robbie and Coco beach. Robbie,
what's up?

Speaker 5 (04:59):
What's up?

Speaker 7 (05:00):
Nick?

Speaker 8 (05:00):
How you been?

Speaker 5 (05:00):
Man?

Speaker 9 (05:01):
I've been working on a boat every day. It's such
a rough life I have, isn't it.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
It isn't a warm too.

Speaker 9 (05:07):
We had a couple of days that were like in
the forties, but that's it, like three days really good.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Yeah, it's in the forties and floor I didn't know that.

Speaker 9 (05:17):
Oh it gets cold, Yeah, it gets it. It's wet cold,
that's for sure. Cut through you. Hey, let's talk some
Eagles cowboys. Man, we're gonna whoop their asses and beat
the bricks off them.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
I'm hoping, man, Okay, I mean I'm picking a win
for the cowboys. I think the cowboys are gonna win.
More so about what Philly's doing. I just feel like
you play like that every single week. Eventually you're gonna lose.

Speaker 9 (05:44):
I agree wholeheartedly. That that just barely getting the win somehow,
and we're a division team.

Speaker 10 (05:51):
That's such That's what I was thinking.

Speaker 9 (05:52):
I think we're gonna pull it out a long kicked
by Aubrey at the end, and they're gonna be like stunned,
and I think Randy hit the nail on the head.
You need to take a day off after that, because
everybody's going to be calling crazy the Cowboy.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
I'm sorry, guys, I don't like to disagree with the callers.
But there's no there's no days off. Do you realize
that when the game is over Sunday, when the game
is over and the Cowboys beat the Eagles, you realize
that it's already like Tuesday, Wednesday. Yeah, it's already Wednesday,
so there's no days off. You got to come back Monday,
which is like Monday slash Tuesday, and then Tuesday is

(06:25):
like a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and then I mean, no,
there's no days.

Speaker 9 (06:30):
Off, and then yeah, but.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
I don't want to take the day off. I want
to hear from you guys. You beat the Eagles. I
want to hear from you guys, especially Robbie from Coco Beach,
who you just said they're going to kick their ass.
I want you to call in, all right, I'm good
to too.

Speaker 9 (06:45):
All right, I'll let you go, Nick, and tell me
what you think about our defensive line versus their offensive.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Their offensive line. Their offensive line is banged up. You know,
no one's feeling sorry for anyone. Lane Johnson has been
in the lineup and now he's out. I think they
put him on I R I think they did, or
they or do they plan on it. He's gonna be
out for a few weeks. He's a really good player,
you know, the right tackle. But you know, he's he's

(07:14):
he's really good. And uh he looks like he fall
starts every every single snap and he does some of
the times, but he also times it really really well.
I mean he's he's got he's got a knack for that,
and uh, you know, he's they're they're a very good
offensive line. Yes, they they move early on that touch
push and all that kind of stuff, but they're you know,

(07:36):
they make you know, Jalen Hurts as good as he is,
he's a he's a great player. But I think you
know he's he's had the luxury of a really really
good offensive line. But you know, we'll see, We'll see
the Cowboys defensive line has obviously gotten better overnight. With
Quinn Williams in there, he suddenly has made osa better player.

(07:56):
You know, he's made Kenny Clark even better than than
he was. And you know, that rotation is nasty in there,
and I think the deep you know, James Houston comes
back and has it, has a sack for the first
time in a few weeks, and you know, I just
think great players make the guys around them better. So
it's going to be a really good matchup. Let's go
to Sebastian Savannah Georgia.

Speaker 11 (08:16):
Yeah, what's going on the stream?

Speaker 8 (08:17):
And how you doing good?

Speaker 2 (08:18):
How are you We're doing well?

Speaker 11 (08:20):
You got to give coach Shatty some credit. Man, he's
a smart, smart guy. Like, have we been going up
against the Eagles this week? There's no way in tax
CD and George Pickens sit out that first drive.

Speaker 8 (08:31):
But at the same.

Speaker 11 (08:31):
Time he can send the message to his team that hey,
we're not going to accept this type behavior to your
top players, which trick was down to the bottom players
while not costing you the game. But had we lost
that game, and you know, all the fingers have been
planted at that first drive. Another thing that I that
I noticed that I really enjoyed about this week's game
is your defense actually bought you time because the offense

(08:53):
didn't start spinning the wheels until almost the second quarter.
When you really look at it, that's the first time
we scored a touchdown. So I want to give credit
to a flu some defense this week and buying us
time to get that offense rolling. And I think you
need to start leaning on the run game a little
bit more.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
And that's it.

Speaker 11 (09:08):
I think.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Appreciate it. Yeah, I thought the way that the defense
came out after that fumble, you know, when the Dak
fumbled the ball and the Raiders got great field position,
and you know, they they came back and basically didn't
you know, they didn't budge at all. I mean, they
kicked the field goal, made it three to nothing, and
then you know, from there, I think the Cowboys finally

(09:29):
got got it going on offense, and you know that
that was a really good stand. The defense has done
a nice job, you know, in that game. And we'll see,
you know, in the next three weeks, we'll see what
it is. If if things kind of turn around, then
I think we're gonna, you know, we're going to realize
that it is about the players. Let me the players

(09:50):
help for sure. What's that line always, it's not about
the x's and o's, it's the Jimmies and Joe's and
the Quinnins, you know. That's that's what I think that,
you know, the Quinn's and the demos. You know, those guys.
I think that your defense has gotten better, but they're
going to be tested big time here in the next

(10:13):
next eight days. You got the two teams that met
in the super Bowl, you know, and then oh by
the way, a week after that, the team that was
the number one seed in the in the NFC last year,
and a really really good team. All right, Armando in
Mexico City's next Armando? Pretty how are you good figure
out who bad Bunny is? Yet?

Speaker 7 (10:36):
Are you?

Speaker 6 (10:37):
Do you understand understand that.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
You understand all of all of his lyrics? Though?

Speaker 7 (10:43):
No, not at all, not even close. So we're on
the same boat on that one.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
That's funny.

Speaker 7 (10:50):
All right, Well, sony, are you are you going to
the Woke Up Gains in Dallas next year?

Speaker 2 (10:58):
I mean, I I would like to go if it
works out, and I could go to a game, it
doesn't matter who it is. Yeah, I would like to go.
But I'm you know, I'm not holding my breath on that.
It sounds like it's going to be pretty pretty daunting.
Just just to get over there certainly won't be working it.
But if I have a chance to go to a game,
yeah i'd like to doesn't matter who.

Speaker 7 (11:19):
Are you sure? It's really a different experience. Yeah, once
in a lifetime, so I think. Yeah. So anyway, Nick,
I'm really happy about the Raider game, a complete pictory.
Of course, they say, yeah, it's just the Raiders. But
then it was the same day.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Joseph, what say that? I'm sorry say that last thing again?
Did you cut off? I don't know where you went,
all right? I think we lost Armando. Okay, Well he
was excited about the Raiders game. And I would imagine

(11:59):
in Mexico City, because I've been to Mexico City, and Chris,
I think you went there too, and it was the
Raiders versus the Cowboys back in two thousand and one.
And you know, man, I understand that. You know that
they have a lot of Cowboy fans there, a lot
of Raider fans there. You know that that was a
that was quite an experience there. So I would imagine

(12:20):
for Armando. There's a lot of Raider fans there in
Mexico City also, so that's a big game. Anytime the
Cowboys are facing the Raiders. It was, it was big
when it was Vegas. It doesn't matter. I mean, I've
seen them play in Oakland. I've seen them play in
now Vegas. I've seen them play in Mexico City. I'm

(12:40):
not sure I saw them play in La. I don't
think so. I don't think I went to that. I wasn't.
They weren't in LA when I was just starting with
the Cowboys, but or at least we didn't play them there.
We did have been to the coliseum, but not not
for playing the Raiders. Anyways, all right, let's go Lester
in Minnesota.

Speaker 12 (13:00):
Good morning, Nick morning.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
How are you.

Speaker 12 (13:04):
I'm doing well?

Speaker 2 (13:05):
How are you good?

Speaker 12 (13:07):
Hey man? I enjoyed the win Monday night. It looked
good out there with our new additions. I was my
my my thing was I wanted a smart, fast middle linebacker.
We got a smart, fast, kind of fast middle linebacker,
and I just started with sensational. We got there. Quinny

(13:30):
is as Nate calls them. Right, So it looked real
good out there, man. Ye and uh, I'll go back
to my theme of last year. That's what it looks
like when you have a good officers and defensive line
at the same time.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
Co Cowboys, all right, all right, Lester, appreciate that.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
I mean, you win the trenches, you know you're gonna
you're gonna have a chance. And that's any any league,
any any you know, it doesn't matter if it's in
the high school, college, NFL. You you've you can run
the football, and you know you can establish that you're
not afraid to go for fourth and short or a
third down, you know, a third and long you can

(14:13):
you can you know, trust yourself that you can get
it twice because you you've got an offensive line that
can that can block. And then on the flip side,
you know you trust your defense. You you don't mind
punting sometimes, uh and pinning them back because you think
you have a defense that can stop. And that that's
kind of what happened. I mean, the Cowboys got a
great you know, play on special teams and pin them
down to the to the like two yard line and

(14:35):
then the penalty pushed them to the one and next thing,
you know that they got a safety. So you know,
if you have an offensive and defensive line, I mean,
you're always gonna have a shot. And I think that's
that's always what Lester's been preaching. And I think that's
what the Cowboys are, you know, aiming to to to
be uh and they look like they're they're getting, you know,
getting a chance to to get to that point again.
Daveon and Illinois's next, Daveon, what to do?

Speaker 8 (14:59):
My boy? The dude going on?

Speaker 2 (15:01):
How are you man?

Speaker 8 (15:04):
We got us a dude, Nick the Quinn guy. Boy,
we got us one. We wanted that boy. People that
live hate on Jerry, he got us one right here.
So just just just enjoy the ride on this. It's
gonna be it's gonna be a fun one that That
was a funny game watching. I enjoyed the win. I
was uh, me and my sons watching it was it

(15:27):
was it was up.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Howl was up? How old is your son? Daygun seven seven?
He was watching. He was in it. I like it.
Not the whole game, right, He's not going to stay no, no, no.

Speaker 8 (15:41):
No, the whole game. He got school and I had
to go to work, but uh, it's Eagles week, so
you know it's time to go beat some Eagles from
frying birds. We gotta go get it. This is the time.
Let's go get us a win. Let's go.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
I like it. I mean, there's nothing else you can say.
Thank you Dave On for the call, and and you
know that's that's what it is this week. I mean,
you know, you're not Everyone knows what this team has done, Okay,
when when when they face teams that aren't as good,
they can win those games. Now, Cardinals was an exception,

(16:20):
but for the most part, I mean, I mean, look
at the fourth wins that they have are against teams
that don't have a winning record. And you know, the
the five teams that they've lost to other than the
Cardinals all have a winning record, So they haven't beaten
anybody that's really good. So if you're gonna make the playoffs,
you're gonna have to turn it around. I don't think

(16:41):
anyone's ever made the playoffs and not defeated a good team.
I think the Bears are going to try to do that,
but I think it's you know, but that's who, that's who.
Their schedule is and that's who they've played. But you know,
give them credit for winning the games, but you know
eventually that they're going to have to beat somebody good.
And that's the same with the cow If you're gonna
get to where you want to be, you have to

(17:02):
you have to win some of these games because they're
all sitting here on the schedule. So uh go, and
why not start with Philly? Why not? You know, you
know you can compete with them. I don't think they're
a team that's gonna, you know, blow anyone out. They're
not gonna blow out the Cowboys. Probably Cowboys have an
offense that can keep up. But you know, I guess,
let's see if this defense is really up for the challenge.

(17:22):
They were against the Raiders Nashal and gent and Geno
Smith and you know, kind of a banged up offensive
line for the Raiders. Let's see what happens when you
go up with the world champs and and you know,
tied end like they've gotten two really good receivers and oh,
by the way, say Kwan Barkley and all that. Let's see,
we're gonna find out a lot about this team and
this defense and all that. All right, Chris and San Angelo's.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Next, mister Nick, how are you doing this day?

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Good? How are you?

Speaker 3 (17:48):
I'm doing well? Thank you? Heye. One thing that I
got out of a lot of good things happened on
defense in that last game one Mabby. I don't know
if it's been talked about little low key with Chavon
Rebel getting in the game and getting some good NFL
reps right and from what I saw, didn't see any errors,

(18:11):
but he definitely looks the part.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
Oh my god, yeah, yeah, he is a man child.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
Yeah. I actually commented to the storyline of group that
he looks like a linebacker.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
To me, he looks like a piece of pizza. I
mean he does, he looks. I mean he just he's
he's very wide, shoulders, very broad. He's Paul and then
and then you know he's he's thin, but he's also
just big and tall. I mean for a corner, I
mean he looks. He didn't even look the part. That's
not what corners look like. So cowboys have a shot

(18:48):
if he if he could play and he's gonna figure
it out like that, maybe they have a chance to
steal one there. And that's what happens when you take
an injured player like that, you you, that's what you're
banking on, is that they're going to come back. You're
going to get the value for it.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
Absolutely, And then my question was moving forward, it looks
like I mean, you know, if the season wears on,
Javonte Williams definitely is going to need that. You know,
I guess you'd call it a running mate, a good
number two. Lak did some of that the other night. Now,
going forward, do you think that he's gonna take that

(19:26):
spot or do you think it could be something revolving
or do you think it's going to end up sticking
with that one. Well, that's all I have for you.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Thank you, Chris, Thanks for the call. You know, and
nobody likes to hear that, you know, they want to say,
who's your who's your backup running back and all that.
But I truly believe that that spot is starting with
special teams. That's where it begins, and it begins with
you know, with Malik Davis providing more than Jayden Blue

(19:56):
is going to provide right now, So that is that
it starts there. And then you're like, okay, night and
day difference when it comes to special teams contribution now
running the football, Well, Malik Davis, you know he's running,
He's running tough. I mean he really is. He's doing
a really good job in there and running. And then
I think they're gonna, you know, stick with that. So

(20:16):
when you when if you, if you got to play
that checks both the boxes, then it doesn't matter who
was drafted and the speed and all that kind of stuff.
So I think as it is right now, I think
Malik Davis has got the upper hand just because of
what he provides, and he can he can give you
more value with with the snaps. Runnie in New Jersey's
next Runnie. It's been a little bit. How you doing, Nick? Good?

Speaker 5 (20:39):
Yeah, no, I haven't been. I've been able to get
through and uh, you know, work schedule is different now,
so it's a little harder. But I had a little
break today and I was like, man, I gotta I
gotta call in the other day I tried calling in.
I just couldn't get through. But Nick, yeah, no, man,
this is this I think the trade. Whether I know

(20:59):
how fans a lot too late whatever, this and I
don't care. We that's what we needed. We needed a
guy in the middle. I've been asking, you know, I've
been asking. I've been telling you, like, hey, man, we
need a guy in the middle, we need a monster
in the middle, and and yeah, that's that's the everybody
always said, Jerry Jones. The quickest way to the quarterback
is from from the middle of the defense. Right, So

(21:21):
there's no better way to uh to upgrade your defense
by getting that that guy that's a pass rusher, run stuffer,
Quinny Williams is it's a beast. You gotta you gotta
around him and our linebacker uh overshown like those two guys. Man,
I can only see this team getting better. I mean, yeah,

(21:43):
I'm not going crazy over the playoffs. If it happens,
it happens, but hey, next year, get ready. So it's
like you said in one of the episodes too. I
think it was last week, Nick that you said, don't
stop now, like you know, don't today. You traded for
these guys when the free agency kicks off, get us
a couple of other guys. So yeah, don't stop now,

(22:03):
don't don't do don't don't regret like what you did
with Romo at the end of his career, and you
know I couldn't get him the only thing I couldn't
get him in the Super Bowl. No get back surround Dak. Now,
so let's see, Hey go Powboys, Nick, thank you for
picking up the call.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Thank you. You know, you could make the case, you're like, well,
they made that trade too late, But you could also
say maybe it was early, you know, I mean too
late for the season. But but then again, what was
the Jets price three weeks ago, two weeks ago. I mean,
they have a different price on you know, on the
on the deadline, and both teams do. So it's very

(22:40):
very normal that it happens like that. That might have
been the best time to get the deal that they got.
But you know, I just feel like, you know, you say, well,
make sure in free agency they do all this. You know,
let's not forget the contracts that you absorb when you
when you get a guy like Corentin Williams in here
and Kenny Clark, and you're absorbing these contracts. I think

(23:02):
they're a little bit ahead of free agency. This is
a part of free agency. You know, they traded draft
picks to get it, but this is a part of
next year's free agency. They're not going to have a
ton of money to go do some things. But I
do feel like with the window that they have and
I mean they're I think they're gonna go sign pickings.
I believe that. But but well, we'll see. But just

(23:22):
just remember this is this is kind of an early
start to free agency. It's going to break real quick
on storyline to be right back after.

It's the Cowboys Storyline presented by Gillette, the official shave
of the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
All right, welcome back to Cowboys Storyline presented by Gillette.
You know, after a win, we talk about precision. It's
not just for your morning shave, It's how the Cowboys
compete every day. This week's Precision Player of the Week
brought to you by Gilette. Let's go with Quentin Williams.
I mean, this guy comes in and and dominates right

(25:33):
off the bat. He's had one sack in the first
half of the season playing with the Jets, gets one
and a half sack in two quarters.

Speaker 16 (25:40):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
He makes the guys around him better. I understand the receivers,
the quarterbacks, all that stuff was great, but the defense
really kind of set the tone early. And I think
the fact that you had a brand new player in
there and just how they were able to play. Let's
go with Quentyn Williams. I think he's our precision Player
of the Week sponsored by Gillette. All right, let's go
back to our phone lines here. I'm ay in Napa, California.

(26:03):
I'm ay. What's up?

Speaker 4 (26:05):
Hey, what's up?

Speaker 10 (26:06):
Nick? How you doing good man?

Speaker 2 (26:08):
How are you?

Speaker 10 (26:09):
I'm great, man, I'm great. Just back from Vegas, enjoying
the game.

Speaker 8 (26:12):
It was a great game.

Speaker 10 (26:13):
Great game to go to, great game to choose to
go to.

Speaker 8 (26:18):
Energy was great.

Speaker 10 (26:19):
It felt like it was a home game.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
You guys were rowdy, Oh my god.

Speaker 10 (26:22):
Yeah, oh yeah. We had a good let's go Cowboys
chain going on.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Do you think it was fifty fifty or do you
think it was? I mean, like not talk about the
end end of the game. I mean early on in
the game, you know, the Raiders got a fumble and
all that. I mean, do you think it was fifty
fifth year to the Cowboys had more?

Speaker 10 (26:40):
You know what? Early you know, I was out there
for the for the weekend, and so early it was
like all Cowboys fans that I saw downtown on the
strip just all about right, and I was like, man,
where are the Raider fans? And then we actually walked
to the stadium. We walked there and back, and walking there,

(27:01):
it felt more fifty to fifty maybe a little fifty
five forty five towards the Raiders, but it felt pretty even,
and definitely after the game it was it was way more,
but just even the cheers like early before the game
got started, when the first players came out, things like that.

(27:22):
It was.

Speaker 8 (27:23):
It was.

Speaker 10 (27:24):
It was pretty loud for the Cowboy fans. There was
there was some Raider fans in our section, but I
probably only heard one the whole time. And yeah, it was,
it was. It was great. It was cool. It was
it was a great atmosphere. I mean, the Cowboy fans
always show up. I've been to more away games and
I've been to actually Cowboy games, I mean in Dallas
or Cowboys Stadium. So but yeah, it was it was great.

(27:47):
It was a great time. It was a great weekend
with Shody would kick that field goal at the end
for on my own personal reasons, but yeah, man, I
think exactly what you said, mat Quinn Williams makes a
huge difference putting him and Kenny there up front, disallowing

(28:08):
your guys on the ends to be more free. Definitely
with your linebackers as well. I'm still interested to see,
like if the kid that we Wilson, if he transitions
over to the Green Dot. I mean, I know it's
a lot to ask for. He looked okay and in
the plays, in the plays that he did, but I

(28:30):
still not feeling Murray all the way. Man. I listened
to you when you were on was it cross Talk
last week or two weeks ago with with Van der
Esh and man, you know, the thing that he just
spoke so much about was the communication getting guys in line,
and you know, you know, you could just see having

(28:52):
a new linebacker with a new coach. He doesn't seem
like he knows all the all where to go, and
so he's definitely not putting all of our other players
and positions. And then we still need help in the secondary.
But again, man excited, way more excited to see what
happens this coming week and the rest of the season
versus what we're looking for before the trade. So let's

(29:14):
go cowboys. Man. Okay, Well, thank you give me your information. Man,
I'll find you some wine for the holiday. Man, enjoy
with the family, all right, you take care, have a
good one, look forward to listen for the rest of
the week.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
Thank you, I mean appreciate that. I think it was funny.
He said. He wished you would have kicked the field
goal for his own personal personal situation there. Well, maybe
you can get over it at some point there, I mean,
all right, sorry, good call. Rick in Webster, Massachusetts.

Speaker 17 (29:46):
Hey, Nix's all you doing good?

Speaker 2 (29:48):
How are you?

Speaker 17 (29:49):
You catch up in your sleep?

Speaker 18 (29:51):
No?

Speaker 2 (29:52):
I haven't, but I think by February I will be there.
But it's okay.

Speaker 17 (29:58):
Yeah, quinnin makes said the whole line a lot better,
and the linebackers as well, in the cornerbacks, in the back,
the back part and uh, Logan Wilson looking at stats
that he had the most snaps as far as the
linebackers and let them go like with fifty almost over

(30:23):
fifty percent of it.

Speaker 10 (30:24):
M hm.

Speaker 17 (30:25):
Yeah, and then it was over shown after that. But
that's good. So he was and well I think he
had he had part of the green dot, part of
the switching back and forth between him and Murray.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 17 (30:39):
But so just uh, you have a good weekend, beat
the Eagles and go from there.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
All right, appreciate it, you know, Logan Wilson. It was
credited with two tackles, but you know, just just your
presidence out there at linebacker, you can you can affect
the game. Uh, not necessarily making every tackle, but but
you know, being where you're supposed to be, taking away
you know, the tight end over the middle, things like that,

(31:06):
making him check down. Sometimes we don't even think about that.
You know, a guy drops into coverage, he's taken away
that first read from the quarterback. He has to check
it down, check it down, three yard play, whatever you
get off the field, your linebackers making the play, even
though it doesn't look like he's way away from the ball,
but he's take when you take it away the first read.
You know, you see it all the time when coverage sacks,

(31:26):
corners lock down their receivers, they end up having to
dump it off to a tight end. Your corners and
safeties might have made the play even though they're not
the ones that made the tackle. So you guys know that.
But it's just it's just complimentary football. And I think
having a linebacker, you know that that's in the right spot.
The fact that those guys played the most logan and
overshown when we didn't know what to expect from either

(31:47):
one of them coming into the game is really a
good sign. But you still got to be smart about
how much they play. You know, again, we've talked about
it several times. They're going to play a lot of
football games. Three football games before or December the fourth,
you know, so that's you know, that's gonna be back
to back to back, So they definitely gotta stay healthy. There.
Nate the Great in Albuquerque, what's up?

Speaker 17 (32:09):
Nate?

Speaker 3 (32:09):
Hey, Hey, Nick?

Speaker 2 (32:10):
How is it going good?

Speaker 19 (32:12):
How are you doing pretty good?

Speaker 3 (32:14):
Doing pretty good?

Speaker 19 (32:15):
I know I called a few weeks ago and didn't
start off so great. I think that was Christmas. But anyways,
I'm just excited for this, this pick. I'm glad that
Jerry Jones didn't sit on his hands. I think, you know,
like I think we were saying, one guy can make
a little bit of a difference, that's all we need.
You've seen that freeing up Kenny Clark getting to the quarterback.
You can, you know, speed up that quarterback makes a

(32:36):
big difference with the secondary linebackers. I think we still
have a chance. It might be a little too too little,
too late, but I think we still have a chance
that we can go on a run with this gauntlet
of a schedule. So I'm excited for this game. Even
if they can't make the playoffs. I'm excited for next
year to see what the defense can do. But you know,
I'm excited for this. And then my question to you,

(32:58):
you know, I hate to do this, but it's a
fun question. Who's your number one white out right now?

Speaker 3 (33:02):
I think you need to keep Jeep.

Speaker 19 (33:03):
They need to sign that guy.

Speaker 4 (33:04):
He's too good.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
I think he has a little bit of an edge.

Speaker 19 (33:07):
Over CD because he catches the bad balls and I
think he's a little bit more explosive after the catch.
I just want to hear your thoughts on that.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
You know what, I don't have to answer that question. No,
I it doesn't matter, honestly. I mean, like they do
things differently, but you got her, you know, I'll say
this in fairness to CD. Ceed's been doing this now
is the number one he's been doing this with with
you know, Cooks on the other side, Tolbert on the

(33:36):
other side. He's been doing this. George Prickens hasn't been
you know, he hasn't been like this until he comes
to Dallas and he has. You know, I think he's
got the better quarterback that he's had and obviously the
best wide receiver he's had on the other side. So
to be fairness back to George, George was balling out

(33:56):
too when CD got hurt too, So they're both dynamic
in their own way. I think they you know, I'm
keeping both of them. I mean, obviously you got CD signed.
I'm they got to resign George Picktts. It's not even
it's not even a question. It's not even a question.
You you've seen better play from your quarterback, from your
running back that you that nobody in the league wanted,

(34:17):
and you're tied in who is playing really, really good
CD's playing playing great as well. Like it's just working.
It's working. I mean, if you didn't have this offense
the way it is, you wouldn't be with four wins.
I mean, the defense has been that bad, but but
the you know, the offense has been so good to
counter that. So anyways, all right, let's go to Jeremy

(34:41):
in DC. Jeremy, what's up?

Speaker 7 (34:44):
Hey? Yo?

Speaker 6 (34:44):
Nick? How you doing today?

Speaker 7 (34:45):
Man?

Speaker 2 (34:46):
Good? What's up?

Speaker 7 (34:48):
Man?

Speaker 20 (34:48):
You've heard nobody today.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
I don't think he's hurt. He wasn't happy with me
when I dropped him off for school, but I don't
think he's hurt. Might hurt his feelings a little bit,
but you know, he tried to test me a little bit.
He just said he wasn't going to get his backpack,
and because I'm not bringing it, I don't want to
go get it. So I'm like, then don't let's go.
Let's tell the teacher you got your cell phone, you
don't need your backpack, you're folder your lunch, any of

(35:12):
that stuff. You just walk in there with the cell phone.
See how that works. And he went back and got
his backpack, So that's good. He's not happy with me, then.

Speaker 6 (35:20):
He'll be all right, hey man, long as he's staying
out of trouble, you got to make sure you keep
him out of trouble. You know, I know you're trouble maker.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
No, I'm good. What's up, budd, hey man?

Speaker 6 (35:32):
So I remember Nick when I called, I told you, man, you.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
Say that. Say that again. Now say that again.

Speaker 6 (35:44):
Jeremy, have you ever seen have you ever seen the
movie Juice?

Speaker 2 (35:50):
Tupac in there? Yeah? Yeah? Is it Wesley Snape? No?

Speaker 6 (35:54):
No, who don't No, no, no. I was just saying
you could just say, hey, Q, you got the juice?

Speaker 2 (36:00):
Now, okay?

Speaker 6 (36:03):
And man, you know, I gotta have a nickname for
all my players that I love. And my new nickname
is for my man Donovan as a Rockle the Desert Eagle,
because you just come off that corner, man, and he's
starting to look, Oh my goodness. They about have had
some problems on their hands, especially if we can keep
them three big boys in the middle like that, because

(36:27):
with them staying fresh, because it's like it's like they
shying the snacks. Man, they only playing like forty of
the bounds and people ain't gonna be able to handle that. Man,
They're not gonna be able to handle it.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
GP three.

Speaker 6 (36:42):
He's still giving out them a shifts. We've been giving
them out all year. You ain't gotta worry about that.
In the Lamborghini, he had to take a little break,
you know, that time work them back into the system
out to being hurt. But we're gonna be all right, guys.
I think we're gonna beat these Eagles because they offer
allowing a little beat up. So I think we're gonna

(37:03):
be able to go in there and all.

Speaker 20 (37:06):
Right, Oh yeah, pretty much it Nick, I don't see
you later.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
Sounds good. All right, you too, man, Thank you. Yeah.
As a rokuh just he's he just keeps getting a
little bit better and better every week, and that's what
you expect out of young players, rookies and stuff. But
you know, we were Chris and I were talking the
other day at dinner, and he was talking about as
Araku and how it seems like he would be a

(37:31):
pretty good fit for the three four scheme, you know,
just the way his body type is as one of
those outside linebackers. And you know, now at the addition
of Quentin Williams, you kind of wonder if if, maybe,
you know, they would have personnel for that. I know
that's not really Eberflus's scheme, but I'm just saying from
a personnel standpoint, I don't think they would want to

(37:54):
put Quentin Williams right at the nose there. But you've
you've got some you've got some ability to kind of
to you know, to have multiple fronts. And that's what
made New England so good for years is guys that
were able to do that. That that you have to
have versatile players and so you know, Overshown is that
type of guy. Osa is that type of guy in

(38:14):
a different way to kind of move back and forth.
So anyways, something to keep an eye on. That's why
I think the move for Quentinn Williams was so important,
because even if it doesn't help you get to the
playoffs this year, you've got a guy you can work
with in the offseason, you work with and figure out
the best type of scheme fit with the guys around him.
Let's go to break one more time on storyline to

Speaker 7 (40:03):
Let's how you're doing.

Speaker 4 (40:04):
It's been a watch since they called in.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
Yeah you're doing all right?

Speaker 4 (40:08):
Good good.

Speaker 20 (40:09):
I'm I'm talk driving.

Speaker 6 (40:11):
Out here in West Texas, So I don't.

Speaker 2 (40:12):
Know there is sounds sounds like it a little bit. Yeah,
it sounds like West Texas. Uh over there over there
on the landman set so the desert. Yeah, what's up?

Speaker 20 (40:26):
So anyhow, my uh, I have a statement and.

Speaker 4 (40:29):
Then a question.

Speaker 20 (40:30):
My statement is I'm super super impressed with Quinn Williams,
not just because of his play, but because of because
of the kind of man he is. If you notice
when they interview him, he's one of the most humble people,
you know, for the you know, the talent he has.
You know, they try to see how good he played.
Is like yet because they're good, good players around me,

(40:52):
you know, Knny Park and whatnot. So I was really
impressed with that because a lot of people get to
throw on their helmet, especially they got out if they
get to you, the bigger heads. So that's my statement.
My question to you is in this year's draft.

Speaker 4 (41:08):
Coming up, we don't have a two or three.

Speaker 20 (41:11):
I believe we have two to one. My question is,
obviously our offense has got a lot of paces, we
don't really need that if we add more to the deepense.
So what I would do I would get the top
pass rusher and then I would get the best mind
backer I could find. And my question to you is,

(41:31):
if it was your choice, what would you do.

Speaker 4 (41:34):
Would you just.

Speaker 20 (41:34):
Stick with the ones and what would you get? Or
would you stick with one and then down, you know,
and then try and trade the other one and I'll
hang up.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
Let's take you. That's that's a great question. You know.
Obviously we'll see how things play out. You want to
see where these number one picks are going to be.
But I think that's why that's the beauty of having
two ones is that you have options. If there is
a player that you just absolutely loved and you think
he is going to be a complete difference maker and

(42:05):
he's not gonna make it out of the top five
or six picks, well you could go get him. Probably
with those two number ones, you could go up there
and get that player if you wanted to. Let's say
they just loved like the Travis Hunter type of thing
so much that they wanted to go to that you
could you could go get that guy, or you know,
you could use one of these picks and go backwards
and try to get your second and third back. I

(42:27):
think these next few weeks are really going to be telling, though,
And excuse me, that's not That's why I don't think
you jumped to the draft just yet. Because let's see
what these guys have. Let's see what some of these
young players can do. Let's see just how good as
Araku is. Let's see what Logan Wilson looks like at linebacker.

(42:49):
Hal Over shown comes back. You know, maybe Kaitlin Carson
keeps playing these this offensive line, Tyler Geiden, how good
is he? This Nick Thomas play? Because you need to
see what what what do you really need? What do
you need? What starting spots are still a little bit shaky.
Maybe picking maybe staying in there and picking these two

(43:10):
guys in the first round is your most important thing.
If you don't have a second and third, that's fine.
Cowboys haven't been great with second and third round picks.
You know, they've been They've been okay, but they have
been great, not as good as they've been mostly in
the first round, which is fair. I mean that that's
typically how it works. Maybe you know they still have
a young football team, and do they have spots for

(43:31):
a lot of these second, third, fourth round to come
in and make the team be difference makers like your
first round re could, so a lot of options there.
All right, let's go to Jay in Las Vegas. Jay,
what's up?

Speaker 4 (43:42):
Hey?

Speaker 16 (43:42):
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (43:43):
How you doing? Man?

Speaker 16 (43:45):
I'm fine for the moment.

Speaker 22 (43:46):
It's good to get in and talk to you.

Speaker 16 (43:49):
Oh, first time caller, Chris.

Speaker 2 (43:52):
There we go. We got you, We got you. So
did you go to the game?

Speaker 8 (43:56):
Jay?

Speaker 22 (43:57):
I absolutely did.

Speaker 16 (43:59):
It's one of the future. I've got to go to
the got to go to the Cowboys game. And that's
actually what my my comments last question is about. Is
watching it live, it seemed to.

Speaker 22 (44:09):
Me that that wasn't exactly on his game that night,
which is crazy, being he threw four touchdowns, but there
were still some plays out there where it looked like
maybe he didn't see the receivers, or he was throwing
it behind the other receivers anybody not named CD or Pickings.
It seemed like it was a little bit off. Specifically
like the.

Speaker 16 (44:28):
Touch or the one handed grab. Yeah, Pickens end zone.

Speaker 22 (44:33):
Ferguson is wide open in the middle of the end zone,
and I'm wondering if there's a disconnect with his other
receivers and why they're not a little bit more involved
when the other two are covered up.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
Well, you know, you're right that that pass He's got
to give Pickets a shot there. But he saw the
coverage he wanted with Pickens and he was like, that's
that's the play I got. I got a guy that
can go make the play on the ball, and he
certainly did. The pass wasn't you know he needed to
be just a little bit more. You know, he's trying
to keep it away from a safety, but needs to
be a little bit more in the field of play

(45:07):
so he can he can make that play. But I
don't know. I thought Dak had some of his best throws.
That did. He throw a past the CD over coverage
and in between coverage kind of right there on the
left sideline. I thought that was one of the best
throws we've seen him make in a long time. So
I have a hard time thinking that the guy threw
four touchdowns should have been five. If CD catches it

(45:30):
five touchdown type of night for him. I thought he
played really really well in the game.

Speaker 16 (45:36):
Oh no, absolutely, I feel like he played amazing. I
just thought there was a player too that he may
have left outfield.

Speaker 9 (45:41):
Which just gives me more confidence.

Speaker 2 (45:43):
You know what, Jay like, he's he I guarantee knowing Dak,
you know he's right there with you. He agrees with you.
He's never gonna say he played the perfect game, and
he'll that'll that'll like drive him this week. So you're
you're not wrong in saying that, because I guarantee that's
exactly what Dak is thinking.

Speaker 16 (46:01):
All right, well, I appreciate your time. Quick shout out
to Robin Vegas because me and him share the same name,
my real name Robert.

Speaker 2 (46:08):
Okay, and we can't we can't call you Robin Vegas.
Yeah wait, wait a second. Okay, I was gonna say,
I hope you didn't just change the name for that,
but we would be really messed up. But we had
another Rob in Vegas.

Speaker 16 (46:21):
But Jay, No, everybody's called me Jay for junior since
since the sixth grade.

Speaker 2 (46:25):
So all right, all right, I won't call you Junior.
I'm gonna call you Jay. But it's good to hear
from you, and good to have another guy from Vegas.
And I met said Danny. I think it was a
Danny from from Nevada. He was from Henderson, Nevada. I
think he said his name was Danny. Sorry, it was
kind of crazy down there. He said that he listens
all the time, met him and his family. Now now

(46:49):
I'm having second thoughts if that was his name, but uh,
he's from Nevada and he was there and he said
he's gonna start calling in. But anyways, good, good to
hear from from Jay. From the first I'm and you know,
we were rolling early. We kind of took a little
bit of a lull. Still, I like the fourteen call.
That's that's really good, really good day. You guys were

(47:09):
on point. Good to hear from from a lot of people.
And you know, I'm doing something. I don't know, maybe
try something here. It started with Dylan yesterday and he said,
I got your headline for your show, easy Pickings. Cool.
I like that. Hey, you guys can contribute. Daveon says,
I've already I've already typed it out. I've already got
the title for the show. Daveon, we got a dude,

(47:29):
we got us a dude. Hey, definitely dude. I'm gonna
make that the title of the show. Maybe this is
the theme now, maybe I'm I'm actually gonna take a
quote from you guys and make it the title of
the show. We'll see, so far, so good. All right,
let's do it again tomorrow for Chris Beam, I'm Nick
Eatman tomorrow on Cowboy storyline.

Speaker 1 (47:48):
This has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and
the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
