Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Draft Season, presented by Moody's, a proud partner
of the New York Giants, Dcode, Risk, Unlock Opportunity. Learn
more in moodies dot com. John Smoke, Tony Pauline with
you another episode of Draft Season. My voice isn't back
all the way yet. Between all the live shows that
I did out there on Big Bookick Golf, Live Giants Huddle,
and then out at night trying to figure out what's
going on, I'm still feeling it it.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
I'm not gonna lie, Tony.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
I fell asleep in the middle of watching workouts on
Saturday night at the end of the second wide receiver group.
I did not completely catch up yesterday, but I got
most everything in. I know it was a busy week
for you as well.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Welcome back, by the way, Thank you.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
No, it was insane. I mean, those were long, grueling days.
I never thought that sitting on my rear end for
eight hours would be so tiring. But Thursday I was
in the workouts at three thirty. I stayed till eight
o'clock at night, and the minebackers were still going. On Friday,
I was in the work at a three thirty. I

(00:56):
left at I had a dinner date. I left at
seven fifteen. The tight ends were just beginning. Saturday was nuts.
I got there at three thirty. No, I'm sorry, I
got there at it got there at twelve thirty because
it started once got there at twelve thirty. I left
at eight o'clock. I was there for seven and a
half hours and the second group of the receivers were

(01:16):
still going on. Sunday was the best day. Got there
at one o'clock. They were done by four to ten.
It was a short cris workout. But you know, we'll
talk about it more. They got to do something condensing
these workouts. This is my twenty fifth combine, my first
combine when I was there in two thousand and one,
they started the workouts at nine o'clock in the morning.
They were usually done by twelve to one o'clock. And

(01:38):
it was bing, bing bing, the way it was with
the offensive lineman. Just too many breaks, too much extension,
primarily for TV, and some of the teams are not
very happy about it.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
All right, So let's before we get to the workouts themselves.
Tony Oh, this would be kind of our combine review show.
By the way, you know, big surprise who What are
some of the things that you heard during the week
about what teams are thinking, specifically towards the top of
the draft or just about players in general.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Obviously, the Titans want to trade down.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
There are reports out there that both New York teams
would like to trade up to get cam Ward.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
The Titans do like cam Ward.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
I still feel and I've heard that if they don't
get the package that they want, there's a very very
good chance they could take They could take cam Ward.
As I said, going back to the shrinebol cam Ward
has affixed himself assured himself to be the first quarterback selected.
I do think there's a chance the Titans could take him. Obviously,
there is an opportunity or there's going to be the

(02:39):
opportunity for teams to trade up.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
To get them.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Conversely, as I reported yesterday on at the sports Skia
dot com, Shador Sanders is falling. He's you know a
lot of people think the earliest he's going to go
right now is number six. The film is not good
from twenty twenty four, as a lot of people, you know,
when they look back on it, there is a concern
about you know, his dad in injecting himself, you know

(03:06):
in media conferences at Colorado. There's also the fact that
you know, he's not helped himself since the Shrine Ball
and we were both there. You know, this whole thing.
Shad door Sanders is gonna be at the Shrine Bowl.
There's gonna be a lot of excitement, people expecting the
participate in individual passing drills.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
He showed up what one day in sweats and then
he's there.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Just hanging out, you know, like he's not done himself
any favors so far in the pre draft process. There
will be some more some other prospects that we will
talk about when we go through the review that you know,
have really helped themselves. Obviously, we're gonna have to talk
about Will Campbell with the short arms, see where he

(03:46):
fits in.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Yeah, absolutely, And I think how the Tony I think
the way I kind of look at it. The top
three picks in this draft. To me, this is my
big takeaway from the combine. When we get to pick
four in the draft that the to April, the three
players that are going to be off the board are
going to be cam Ward, It's going to be Travis Hunter,
and it's gonna be Abdul Carter. I feel as sure

(04:09):
about that as I possibly can. And that includes the
fact that Abdul Carter they found the stress reaction in
his foot, and he might not even you know, they
say he's gonna be ready for first party. I believe
that when I see it. But that, to me is
one of the things I walked away feeling pretty good about.
Those will be the top three picks.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
In the draft.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
I've thought that all along, and you know, like you said,
we don't know the order as of yet. You know,
number four, it could it be Mason Graham, I don't know.
Could it be Ted McMillan, who psychologically tested off the charts,
not the fastest guy in the world, but a big,
dominant game controlling receiver that the Patriots would like. Could

(04:48):
be Will Campbell. Some people were saying that at the combine.
I still don't see that because he's not as good
as some of those old players, although they need a
left tackle. But yeah, you're right. I mean, there's not
a lot of top end talent in this draft. And
that's something else I wrote. It's at sports Ski. There's
not that generational player at the top, and teams have
been lamenting that. In fact, somebody said that if Jeremiah

(05:10):
Smith was eligible for this draft, hands down, he'd be
with Jeremiah Smith, the freshman receiver from Ohio State.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
Hands down, he'd be the first player selected.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
But what that leads to is, you know, a lot
of questions, a lot of potential surprises. We usually get
them in the back end of round one. We're probably
going to see a lot of that in the top
ten after those first three players.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Yeah, I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
You know, one team might have a team as their
eighth best player, another team might have that same player
in the twenties or the thirties. Like, it's going to
be crazy, all right, before we get positioned by position, Tony,
I was a little disappointed that so many of the
best players at individual positions did not work at this combine.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
You've been doing this longer than me.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
This was twenty eleven, was my first combine was a
twenty twelve, twenty twelve, So I've done a lot of
these on probably almost twice as many as I have.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
I feel like more than ever this year.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
The top guys at these positions just did not work,
and they didn't run, they didn't test, and to me
that was disappointing. Where the top tight ends, the top
defensive tackles, the top corners, you know, to go down
the list, almost every position, the top wide receiver. These
guys just did not go out there and test, and

(06:25):
that to me was a little bit disappointing.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Running back to blame the schedule, go back to what
I said. I spoke with Landon Jackson, who had a
superior workout.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
He was great.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
You know, right after I saw him, I went up
and introduced myself. We have a common friend. We talked.
Landon Jackson told me that they got him up at
seven o'clock in the morning. He didn't run until five
at night. So basically, for except for maybe a little
stress he had been, he did nothing all day. He
sat around all day waiting to work out. You can't

(06:58):
do that, expect people to, you know, be willing to perform,
to perform at peak performance, because they have schedules, and
you know, the schedule does not include hanging around for
seventy eight hours doing nothing and then getting out there
and performing. Even if you know players that you know
Monday night football who play at eight o'clock, they have

(07:19):
a schedule and the training schedule when they get ready
for the combine is not you know, let's get you up,
let's wake you around for eight hours, and then we'll
do the workout. The other thing was there was a
problem with the field. As I reported. You saw really
from the first day when the defensive lineman took the field,
guys were slipping left and right. Cameron Horsley, the defensive

(07:40):
tackle from Boston College, could not stay on his feet.
I mean Will Campbell yesterday took a bad spill. Looked
like he hurt himself. Fortunately he didn't. And what I
learned was after the twenty twenty four season, they put
a new turf on Lucas Soil Stadium, and that defensive
line group that went off on Thursday was the first

(08:00):
group of players that were actually on that field. So
I think that I think the fact that players were
waiting around for hours before they got out on the field,
the field condition itself, a lot of that, you know,
led to you know, players not testing, not performing. Obviously,
I don't think any of the Ohio State players ran

(08:22):
you can check you can check check me out. Maybe wrong,
but and I had reported that, and that's because you know,
the lateness of the college season, the fact that the
college season stretched to the end of January for some
teams the middle of January who didn't make the title
game except for Ohio State and note your dame. I

(08:43):
think that also precluded some of the players from actually
working out.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Yeah, I'm with you, Tony So. And then I think
when you get.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
To it, because so many of the top guys from
each position group didn't actually work. You didn't have those
numbers where you, like, for all, off your chair and
you're like, oh, my goodness, look how great this guy.
Look how great that guy was. So in a draft
class that's already not top heavy, the guys that are
supposed to be the best didn't run. So you're having
a bunch of guys that are not going to blow

(09:12):
you away from an athletic standpoint.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
And again, I think a lot of that had to
do with the field, that the turf conditions being so slippery.
We did see some good times, we didn't see any
great knockout times. And the funny thing is is, in
my opinion, we'll talk about this later on. I thought
the offensive line group was the best group of the
four days of on the field workouts, and it's probably

(09:36):
no surprise that that field had three eight prior days
of being worked in by the other you know, two hundred. Well,
it was fifty offensive lineman, you know, and fifty players,
and then the offensive linemen were able to do well.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
All right, So let's start the defensive lineman, Tony. We'll
go to the order in which these guys these worked.
I'll throw a couple guys out there that I thought
did well in terms of on field drills and in
terms of their workouts.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Darius Alexander I thought helped himself.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Had had a sub five second forty four nine five
one seven two ten yard split, pretty good jumps with
thirty one inch vert nine three broad. I thought he
did pretty well. Derek Harmon I thought was very mobile.
He showed his ability to move in the drills too.
And then Ty Robinson, I think you saw the stiffness
a little bit with him. You know, he's not very
you know, side to side quick, but he ran a

(10:26):
forty three over thirty three inches on the vert almost
a ten foot broad. Those the guys to me, at
least in terms of the testing. We'll get to some
of the drills in a second. That I thought did
a really nice job.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
Hey, I thought Robinson did very well.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
I know you're talking about defensive tackles, you know, I
thought Josh Farmer had a good workout. But you know,
he ran a five to one one, which is usually
pretty good number for a for a defensive tackle, but
compared to some of the fashion times, it's not good.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
One seventh sill though.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
I thought he was great in Farmer in the field work,
he moved very.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
One seventh Yeah, a one seven seven ten yard split,
which I thought was outstanding.

Speaker 4 (11:04):
CJ.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
West of Indiana. I mean fourn in the forty one
seven three ten yard split, thirty three inch vertical jump
for a three hundred and sixteen pounds defensive tackle. I thought,
you know, and that's a guy when when you look
at him on film, he's more of a gap occupier,
hold your ground, you know, let the other guys do

(11:27):
the work, and then he comes out at combine and
in testing he shows some terrific uh, some terrific numbers.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Yeah, I'm with you. I thought, I'm happy you brought
Farmer up.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Is that you know he didn't get wowed by his numbers,
But I thought, well, overall, you know, he looked good
in the in the in the field work t J. Sanders,
I thought showed his movement ability even though the testing
wasn't phenomenal. Alfred Collins is an interesting guy to me, Tony,
because when I saw him at the Pony, I'm like, whoa,
this guy's impressive with what he weighed at and how
he looked. He carries the weight extremely well. He's just

(11:58):
a huge guy, but by his explosive numbers on his
jumps were just not great, and you want an explosive
player even at that size of defensive tackle. So I
have not done my full work on him yet. I
was curious what your thoughts were on Alfred Collins this week.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
Well, I mean.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
Overly large defensive tackle coming from Texas who doesn't test
that well. People think he's too big and then goes
on to have success. The film on Collins I was
very impressed with, you know, the size and the athleticism.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
I was not. But we've seen this.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Before and unfortunately, people like myself have sometimes read too
much into it, and then guys like Alfred Collins have
gone on to have success at the next level.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
All right, let's switch out kind of the defensive end
edge rusher types to your tone, James Pierce. I know
a lot of people made a big deal, but he
had the best forty yard dacs. You think we all
kind of expected that. He's very light, he's a linear player.
He looked pretty good. His explosive numbers on the jumping
were they weren't as good as the forty might have
you lead to believe. Shamar Stewart, I thought the interesting

(13:04):
thing about him, we all expect him to test very well.
When he did the one five eight split on the
forties phenomenal, only twenty to sixty seven pounds, so he
was fourteen pounds lighter than what he was at the
Senior Bowl, which I thought was interesting.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
Interesting note about Shamar Stewart and I talked to a
couple of players. He has this Olympian work type workout,
but he only has one and a half sacks. And
I asked a couple of people about it, and they
said he's a straight line player.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
They said the reason.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
He only had one and a half sacks is he
can't bend off the end. He can't change direction, and
he missed a lot of sacks. If he had that
sort of ability to bend or to change direction. His
sack numbers would have been much higher. And he didn't
run the three come, he didn't run the twenty yard
short shuttle. In my mind, when they're telling me this,

(13:53):
I'm thinking Taylor Mays. If you remember Taylor Mays the
safety out of USC. I mean he was great. He
had a Olympic type numbers when he performed in the combine.
I believe it was around twenty twelve ish or so,
but he couldn't move two inches to his left or right.
And somebody made the comparison to Verning Galston. As far
as Simar Stewart's concerned, He's just say he's running Golston.

(14:13):
He looks great in shorts and a T shirt, but
he struggles bending off of the edge, which is why
his production was so bad. Yet, you saw, you know,
an Olympic athlete on the turf at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
You mentioned Landon Jackson. You know his explosive numbers. He
jumped over forty inches. That was very good, and I
thought prince Ll Juman Mialem actually did a pretty nice job.
Now he's a little light at two forty four tony,
so I wonder about that, but thirty eight inch vertical jump,
ten six broad very good explosive numbers there. The four
seven two won six to two on the forty okay,

(14:46):
but he was explosive a lot lighter than he's been,
which I wonder about.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
And he's another guy that he might be having a
little stiffness to his game.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
I mean, I understand the four seven two is a
good number, but he was a guy who was projected
to be a four to six guy coming into the combine,
and the combine, more than anything else, is about expectations.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
If you're expected to run a four to sixty five
and you run a four to seven two, people are
gonna go uh. And then you watched, like you said,
the stiffness, the position drills weren't that great. And the
thing with Princely is, you know, he's known as a
guy who doesn't consistently play at a high level. If
he consistently played at a high level, and then expectations,

(15:30):
you're talking about a top forty five pick I was not.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
Yeah, then some of.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
The numbers look really good, but those were expected the
forty time. I think people expected a bit of a
faster time from him.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
Now, Donovan az Arokuh did not do a ton but
he did have a six nine to four to three cone,
which you know for edge guys trying to bend the
edge and stuff like that. That was a that was
an impressive number, though he didn't really do much else.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Yeah, a four thirty five and a half inch of
vertical jump uh four one nine in the short shuttle
six nine four into three cone.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
I thought he looked terrific.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
In drills, moved very well, showed a lot of athleticism.
Didn't run the forty. There's probably the reason why he
wasn't going to time that fast. He's not known or
he's not. It will go back to expectations. People are
looking at him as a four to seven five guy.
Probably wants to wait till the pro day to maybe
get that time down into the four sixes. But he

(16:21):
looked good, you know, the numbers that he the testing
that he did, he had good marks and I thought
he was terrific in the position drills.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
And then those are the guys mostly tony at the
kind of edge defensive line spot that that time.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
I'm I'm gonna add one more guy, I thought Tyler
Baron of Miami was outstanding four six two in the
forty ten yard split of one six to two thirty
five and a half inch vertical jump at two hundred
and fifty eight pounds ten foot one broad jump really
look good in drills. But Baron is a guy like
you mean Alele in the sense that when he's on

(16:56):
his game and when the motor is running, he's an
impact full guy. But the motor isn't always running for him.
And seems gonna look at those numbers and saying, why
weren't you a constant morse at Miami? Why weren't you
the guy that people were trying to shut down play
in him play out because the motor wasn't always running.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
But you know he's got the ability, all right.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
Go to the linebacker Tony and look, it's very basic stuff,
but Johid Campbell just is a different sized human being
than the other.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
People of that position.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Weighed in at six' two almost six, three two hundred
and thirty five, pounds but his frame can carry two
hundred and fifty pounds, Easy like you just look at
how biggest frame. Is he can carry that weight And
i'm sure he came in light to run really fast
and he did four to five to, two one five
three on the ten yard, split which is an excellent
time jump ten to seven in the Broad so just

(17:50):
really impressive Athlete Johid campbell and.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Transition those athletic skills into, drills because he looked very
athletic drills during drills moving sideline to Sawd you, know
he was one of the few top guys that basically
did most of.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
Everything he, did knew, everything but he did most of.
Everything and after.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
That, outstand after that outstanding forty times took part in
the position drills and looked really really.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Good, yeah and THEN i Thought Demetrius knight helped, Himself.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
Tony he ended up running four or five, eight WHICH
i think was better than expectations to your point, earlier
one five eight ten yard. Split his jumps are, okay
and he also wihed in at only two thirty. Five
so but he was a player that on tape looked
really good AND i think he showed enough athleticism, here
so we can you, know maintain that spot er maybe
push up a little bit in those linebacker.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
Rankings i'm gonna Add Jeffrey bassa Of oregon to that
four six three in the forty uh ten yard, split
thirty eight five vertical, jump nine ten broad seven three
four to three.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
Cone not the greatest, time but not in an awful. Time.
Uh explosive.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
Guy and you know he's got the mentality because if
you Watch oregon, football this guy is, silent goes to
sideline making.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
PLACES i was just Mentioning Carson Swessinger tony me waiting
at two forty, two which is a good number for,
him only jumped so and it was a really good
one thirty nine and a half in vertical, leap very.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Good didn't do anything. Else i'm sure we'll see him
do more at his pro.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
Day, well i'll tell. You i'll tell you somebody.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
WAS i was talking with somebody about, him and you,
know they, said do you think first? Round AND i,
SAID i think the only off ball linebacker that goes
in the first round Is Johan Campbell and they, said,
Well swassenger is gonna beat all Of campbell's numbers when
he participates in Prode and there's a lot of love.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
Out there For.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Swassengers SO i still Think campbell is the only off ball.
Linebacker but we're gonna have to keep an eye On
swassenger during that during his pro day, workout because from
What i'm, told there's gonna be some outstanding.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
Marks excellent hair by the, way, too very like he
cannot fit the Like West coast football player profile anymore
than what he. Does all, Right let's go to defensive backs, Here,
tony and this is a group that talking to people out,
there there isn't a ton of love for this group
of defensive.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Backs it just isn't a great. Class BUT i thought
you saw some guys do, really really.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
Well AND i thought Mac Max harriston was the first
guy we talked to him of a lot of The Senior.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Bowl did a good job down.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
There five to, eleven, three four to, eight forty ten
nine on the, broad thirty nine on thirty nine on the, Vertical,
uh sixty seventy six inch, wingspan which is also a
very good number for.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
Him he stole the show at the cornerback, position he.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
Did and he's a feisty. GUY i, mean he's got
to polish his ball. Skills but you, know as we
saw at The Senior, ball as you watch during the, season,
uh you, know he's not an opportunistic. Cornerback he's, athletic he's,
fluid he did well in drills and, WELL i think
there's room for improvement in his. Game he doesn't back
down to a. CHALLENGE i, mean he plays big. Football

(20:54):
some people think that workout could push him into the
back end Of round. ONE i would be but as you,
SAID i mean this cornerback class overall is concerns About Will,
johnson the concerns about a lot of different. PLAYERS i
really didn't Hear Shannon revel's name talked about too much
WHEN i was talking to people during the day or

(21:16):
in the. Evening The Notre dame. CORNERBACK a few people
think he's gonna end up in round. One so maybe
there is chance For harriston to end up in the
back end of that.

Speaker 4 (21:25):
Frame, yeah and.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
All those guys you, Mentioned Travis, Hunter, Morrison Ravel, johnson
none of them did.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Anything, obviously a lot of that has to do with.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Injury but again just going back to my point that
not as many guys as you would have liked did in,
fact but even.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
The, chatter even the, chatter you know when they talk about, injury,
good there was not much talk those guys' names didn't
pop up the conversation at.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
All, yeah, exactly all.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
RIGHT a couple other Guys Johnny, baron he jumped vertically
thirty five inch and ran the forty four three NINE
i think was the final number right off the top
of my. Head SO i think that's a Guy tony
that in another draft. Class you, know a guy that
maybe some people don't think can play, outside though he
played outside pretty well last. Year i'm curious how high

(22:11):
he's gonna end up going here giving this class to your,
point it can barren wark himself in even to like
the top twenty five, twenty depending on how this draft.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
Goes that would be a surprise to. ME i, think
in my opinion best is the bottom half of round.
One but, again you know teams draft players who can
play outside or perceive nickelbacks at the end of round
one all the time, now because you, know nickelback is
a starting position in a lot of defensive.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
Schemes so it wouldn't surprise. ME i Thought Robert longerben
Of rutgers had a terrific, workout both testing wise as
well as position. Drills he's just.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
A little, three, Right he's just a little Light he's right.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
Exactly he's, tall but he is staying four to three
nine five ten yard split eleven to two in the vertical.
Jump looks really good in position, drills but like you,
say you know that light frame probably gonna dismiss him
from any sort of press.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
Coverage but his smart.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
Guy he's the guy who's opportunistic AND i think probably
gonna be A day three. Pick we talk about nickel,
backs you also need. DINBACKS i think longer being fits that.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
Bill, yeah a couple more CORNERS i want to touch On.
Tony these guys PROBABLY i think they'll play inside at
the next. Level Jacob PARRISH i thought had a really nice.
Day now he's only five to, nine just under five
to ten one hundred and ninety one, pounds but a
four to three five forty ten to nine broad thirty
seven inch vert uh JUST i thought looked really smooth
in the drills, too really really fluid hips could flip.

(23:47):
Them and Then Caleb ran saw the other guy four
three three forty ten nine broad forty inch vertical. Jump
those are two guys THAT i think are are gonna
Be day two. Picks they might be limited in terms
of what role you can use him, in but they
perform really well.

Speaker 4 (23:59):
Athletically, YEAH i agree with especially with The.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
RANSALL i, mean he tested off the, charts he was
highly rated by. Scouts ransall is a bit like.

Speaker 4 (24:09):
You, Know Shamar.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
Stewart the production's not, there but the athleticism is and
the underlying ability is to play at the next. Level
so you just got to get that package, together put
him in a spot to make him, productive and he
will be a developmental. PROSPECT i know he could Go day.
TWO i think he's more of A day three football,

(24:30):
player A day two athlete because he doesn't make a
lot of plays on the. Ball but you, know he
proved his worth at The. COMBINE i also think that
a couple other GUYS i will tell You Azari thomas
Of Florida state tend to a broad. Jump not a big.
Deal BUT i thought during position drills he looked really.

(24:51):
GOOD i MEAN i questioned his ball skills throughout throughout the.
SEASON i thought he improved during the senior. BALL i
thought his work during position jewels with. OUTSTANDING i also
Like Quincy riley Of, louisville who coming into The, COMBINE
i did have a huge opinion of him four to
nine in the forty forty one and a half inch vertical.

(25:13):
Jump also look good in position. Jewels and WHEN i
say look good in position, jewels what does that? Mean
it means a, quick fluid back pedal rather than a
stiff mechanical back. Pedal it means the ability to flip
your hips and really lose, nothing transitioning from moving in
reverse to move to moving. Forward the ability to track
the pass in the, air especially you know in that

(25:34):
dome where the lights were. On sometimes it's tough to
lose the, ball you, know in the it's. EASY i
should say it's easy to lose the ball in the.
AIR i Thought riley did a good job of that hundred.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
PERCENT i want to throw a couple of guys out.
There Tony Darian porter tested really. Well a guy his
size six three one five eighty inch. Wingspan they run
a six seven to one to three. Cone that's a
really good time ten to eleven brawl four h four.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
SHUTTLE i thought in.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
The, drills, though like that transition flipping those, hips it
didn't translate right that type of three Codne you should
look a lot smoother in those.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
DRILLS i.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
DO i did a daily Like wiser's piece after each
workout at Sports, skeeda and what happens is the WAY
i do it, is you, Know i'll watch the guys
who test incredibly well or tests much better THAN i.
Expect and THEN i watched him through the drills And
porter was among a couple of players that after his

(26:32):
testing so the test numbers was on my list to
watch as a guy WHO i thought impressed or helped
himself or whatever you want to call. It but THEN
i watched the drills AND i was, LIKE i don't
know about that same thing with Zof. FRASIER i mean
Zof frasier started off well and then the testing he
had his, moments but it wasn't to say Like Maxwell

(26:53):
hashton Or Jade barrett or even the drills were not
as good As thomas The Florida STATE i thought did
a terrific.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Job final Guy i'll mention just BECAUSE i think of.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Expectations Tony Trey amos is a guy that some guys
like at the end of round, one top of round,
two six, foot one hundred and ninety five, pounds almost
a seventy eight inch, wingspan seventy seven and three quarters,
inches which is really. Nice thirty one inch arms is
a good size for a. Corner he was in the
high four, fours BUT i think given where people thought
he might, BE i thought he did do well to

(27:24):
kind of keep him into the mix as a as
a top, five top six type of.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
Corner.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
YEAH i mean the tape is different from the the,
athleticism but they had him at a one six unofficial
ten yard e. Svent the vertucle jump was thirty two,
five the broad was ten. Six you gotta wonder what's
up with that vertical? Jump watch it during pro. Day
but the tape is real good On. AMOS i was
not as high on others As. AMOS i watched the.
FILM i really liked, him but, again you, know four

(27:51):
four to three for a guy that, size you, know
six to one and change is a good. Time it's
just not a super fast time that we're seeing some
of the.

Speaker 4 (28:00):
Guys he's days some of the players these.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
Days all, right let's go to.

Speaker 1 (28:03):
Safety Tony, NICK I meanwari obviously just stole the. Show
he's gigantic ten six broad forty three inch vertical four
three three forty yard dash at almost two hundred and thirty.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Pounds the guy's a.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
Monster he's, big he's, athletic and he's the guy that
is going to be a first round.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
PICK i, mean the film bears it. Out you talked
About Shamar stewart and the lack of, production and you
know you watched the film on m worry who did
not participate in position. Drills and the guy's an explosive.
SAFETY i mean he he's not just passed in a straight.
Line he shows great speed, laterally AND i think the

(28:43):
question with him is is he going to be a
first rounder as a, safety as a free, safety as a,
linebacker as a hybrid. Player the thing about him, is you,
know unlike The Shamar, stewarts he's good side to, side
go moving.

Speaker 4 (28:59):
Lout as he is in a straight. Line AND i
agree with, you he's definitely. Confirmed he's definitely affirmed himself
as a first round.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
Pick couldn't go higher Than Malachi starks at this point in.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
Time what do you think Of starks's? Days?

Speaker 4 (29:14):
Day, okay disappointed in?

Speaker 3 (29:16):
HIM i MEAN i was someone who in high, expectations
the time of four or five or whatever the official
time was doesn't really bother me because he plays a
little bit faster.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
THAT i.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
Thought he was up and down during, drills not very.
SMOOTH i talk about that transition to flip his. Hips
he was, okay a guy like, that you, know for
safety to go in the first, round unless you're a
guy like him And, awari you've got to be able
to show you you can play over the slock, receiver
Which starks does on. Film but then you watch the

(29:46):
drills and you see he's got work to. DO i,
Was i'd say, OVERALL i was slightly, disappointed all.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Right one of The Saint yell Mentioned tony BECAUSE i
liked him at The Senior. BOWL i haven't done my
filmwork on him. Yet Billy, Bowman, YEAH i thought tested really.
Well now he's got really tiny, arms just twenty eight
and a half inch, arms which is which is not.
Big that could be that's gonna be a red flag
for some. Teams but he's an intinctual. Player he make
plays on the, ball and he's not the biggest. Guy
he's a little bit, shorter but, man he moves really

(30:15):
well out there on the. FIELD i was impressed by.

Speaker 3 (30:17):
Him and you can get. AWAY i, mean teams have
no problems with shorter. Safeties these days if they can
go sideline to sideline and track the pass in the.
Air AND i agree with. YOU i mean After I'm.
Anawari he was my number two safety as far as my.
Ryers ers moved very, well showed the ability to flip his,
hips was very. Quick another safety WHO i thought did
very very well WAS. R. J Mickens clemson four four

(30:40):
nine to forty forty one and a, half vertical jump
ten foot one broad, positions you're. Ills he was sho good,
footwork he was, fluid he was. Balanced you know that's
the other thing you want to see with these. Guys
you know when they're moving around the, field when they're
flipping their, hips are they on their?

Speaker 4 (30:55):
Feet is it?

Speaker 3 (30:56):
Natural or do they have to gather themselves and get
back in the form of the consider a real good
job showing a lot of.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
Balance draft season is presented By, moody's a proud partner
of The New York, giants uniting the brightest minds that
turn today's risks into tomorrow's. Opportunities learn more At moody's dot.
Com all, Right, tony let's jump over to the offensive
side of the. BALL i know a lot of people
like to make a big deal about the quarterbacks at
THE Nfl. Combine, eh like whatever you're throwing on. AIR

(31:23):
i Thought Quinn yours And jackson dar are both. Fine
didn't show off, cannon but they were. Accurate they got
the ball where they need to. Go they showed enough arm,
strength AND i think the news kind of out of
there and we get you, know we talked About Warden
sanders off the.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
Top they didn't do. Much.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
Uh people were very impressed By Tyler shuck and how
he presented, himself how he met his arm, strength stuff like,
that and that he seems to be talking to people
knowing here at The, giants but just in general at the.
Combine the bell of the ball for a lot of
people coming out Of.

Speaker 4 (31:53):
Indie oh he should.

Speaker 3 (31:54):
BE i mean he's he's almost Collecting Social. SECURITY i,
mean so he's got much more hearing the many of these.
GUYS i thought his passing workout was, okay AND i watched.
HIM a lot of the passes were. Off as far
AS i was, Concerned yours had the best overall. Workout
he showed a solid deep. ARM i thought he drove
his passes. DOWNFIELD i thought he did a good. Job

(32:16):
Brady cook From missouri really surprised, me especially with his deep.
Passes was right on the money with a lot of.
THEM i think With Brady, COOK i got more THAN i.
EXPECTED i thought That colin McCord was actually the best
deep ball. Thrower his short and intermediate stuff was late at,
times was, inaccurate but when they throw the deep outs

(32:38):
and the long passes down the, field, WOW i mean
McCord threw a very really pretty ball AND i was
really impressed with his deep, throws with the, accuracy with the,
speed with the ability to drive the ball.

Speaker 4 (32:49):
Downfield, yeah that's.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
INTERESTING i.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Thought one Thing i'll, note and we threw a lot
of praises way at The Senior bowl when we thought
he did a nice. JOB i think you saw The
Dylan gabriel arm arm strength issues coming up on a
lot of those deep outs and stuff like, that and
he had to throw a blow the ball a little
bit too early on some of the deep. Routes that
was one thing THAT i noted on some of those
deep outs where he had trouble getting the ball out there.

Speaker 4 (33:10):
Accurately diddo For Seth.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
HENNEGAN i, Mean Seth, hendergan you, know he's like An
einstein to. Quarterbacks he's super, smart does a great job
leading the. Offense but as he showed On, saturday you
know he's a good backup in a timing.

Speaker 4 (33:26):
Offense because he cannot get the ball. Downfield anything.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Else jump out at you about the quarterback? Position how
about your Boy?

Speaker 2 (33:32):
Milroe?

Speaker 4 (33:35):
DISAPPOINTED i, mean he was all over the.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
PLACE i, mean AND i take it personally because you
know how HIGH i was On. Milroe BUT i can't
see anybody taking him in the first, round as much
AS i was hoping for.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
It we have one fan On twitter that has been
tracking your love For Jalen milroe throughout this, process AND
i think it was either last week or two.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Weeks they're, like, oh totally probably took him out of
the first.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
Round it's, about, oh, well you know you got you
got a man up and admit. It AND i, MEAN
i Guess milroe is gonna be one of those.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
MISSES i still think he's got Great he's, definitely definitely's
got great turn and you've got to give him credit
for competing because he went to THE C, ball he
went to The. Combine he is a high character. Guy
somebody's gonna fall in love with. Him he just needs
a really good quarterback. Coach probably should have tried to
stay At alabama one more year With Michael pennix's the

(34:28):
Former washington quarterback coach now moving over To.

Speaker 2 (34:31):
Alabama, YEAH i still think he's gonna be A day two.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
Pick some team will, roll yeah down on the traits
and the he'll end up going to somebody on day,
two maybe even around, two who.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
Knows we'll.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
See all, right let's h up the tight. Ends tony,
says they worked out before the running backs and the.
Receivers we'll go there. First you, know so many of
the top guys ag end didn't. Work Ty warren two
hundred and fifty six. Pounds you see him at the.
Podium he looks Like Jeremy, shocky like size, hair he
just like looks Like. SHOCKY i was impressed at level
and that she weighed into two forty. Eight you, know
he's in the sling with the, shoulder and he probably

(35:01):
hasn't been able to lift or do anything with that.
Shoulder so the fact that he was still two forty,
eight even after probably not being able to lift for
a couple of. MONTHS i was pretty impressed by at
least how much you wait in.

Speaker 3 (35:11):
It And lovelin may not work out for the combine
because of that. Shoulder that was the word at THE.
Uh that was the Word. Indianapolis warren didn't run for a.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
Really someone said With lovelid he might not be able
to take contact to Like. AUGUST a couple of people
report THAT i was.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Told it's an ac. Joint we'll see how it affects
his draft. Stock but if somebody told, me you know
later in the first round you, go the better.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
The team you end up.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
With AND i had him going to THE La chargers
in one of my early mocks to be reunited with
his old head. Coach who need and that team needs
a tight. End so you, know there may be a
silver lining to. That wouldn't surprise me from WHAT i
was hearing In.

Speaker 4 (35:51):
Indianapolis, YEAH i.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
Agree my Guy Terrence Ferguson TONY i liked him come
out of the senior. BALL i liked this tape in
six o Five i've forty seven ran a four to
six three ten yard. Split pretty good, jumps. Uh to,
me he was one of the most impressive tight ends.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
There pretty good jumps thirty nine Inch bard is. OUTSTANDING i,
mean was it.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Thirty nine high thirty four run THAT i must have
transcribed it.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
Wrong, okay that's What that's What i'm looking at.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
Here you're, right, UH i LIKE i want to see
him transition that athleticism on to the, field because we
don't see that, speed we don't see that.

Speaker 4 (36:29):
Athleticism you.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Know i've been on him as A day three, pick
a guy who's your traditional number two tight. End he's
shown he's got the numbers to be potential number, one
AND i think he absolutely helped. Himself or is combine,
workout workout help his draft?

Speaker 2 (36:44):
Stock anybody als a tight end that jumped out.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
At, you, Now Harrold fannon did not jump out at.

Speaker 2 (36:50):
Me he was four seven like he was about WHAT
i expected him.

Speaker 4 (36:53):
To, be you know WHAT i mean pointed.

Speaker 3 (36:55):
About my point is some people are talking about him
as an early, pick a day two. Pick i've always
thought he's a fringe late day, two more of A
day three type. Guy good football, player not a great,
athlete someone where benefited from the fact that the offense
was focused around him and took advantage of.

Speaker 4 (37:15):
It good for.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
Him did have a decent three cone six nine seven
and a three. Cone that's a nice. Mark but, AGAIN
i mean a move tight end that's got to learn to,
block that doesn't have a great.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
Athleticism you, know tight end has become such a size,
weight speed height type of, Position, Tony and none of
these guys jumped out like you're, right Like, fannin LIKE
i still think we'll probably sneak into the back end
of the third round IF i at the, bet just
because it's not a great class and, overall but, Look
i'm with, you and THEN i think the other story

(37:46):
we should talk about is Gunner helm tested terribly and
THEN i love you so The Ian rappaport tweet where
he sent out the picture of his ankle which looked
like mine WHEN i twisted my ankle playing basketball like
four years. AGO i was in a boot for two,
week and this guy tried to run a forty and
do all that stuff on a bad. Ankle so you
could take those Gunner helm testing numbers and throw them
into the, trash BECAUSE i really don't mean. Anything and

(38:08):
that's the prim because on tape he looks like a good.
ATHLETE i was shocked when his numbers are what they were.

Speaker 3 (38:12):
YEAH i thought he was A Terrence ferguson type and you,
know a very good college tight end that's going to
be a number two or the number.

Speaker 4 (38:20):
Three jake bringing Stool. Clemson major.

Speaker 3 (38:23):
DISAPPOINTMENT i, mean here's a guy that a lot of
people thought coming into the season was a Potential day two,
pick could potentially be the first tight end. Selected four
seven five in the forty thirty one inch vertical jump
nine to. Seven you, KNOW i had heard all season
long his draft stock was. Dropping this is just you,
know another arrow or another, sling another knife in his draft.

(38:45):
Stock thirty one and a half inch, arms eight and
five inch, hands that's going to kill his draft.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
Stock all, right you ready to go to wide?

Speaker 1 (38:54):
Receiver, Tone let's do, it all, right let's do, It Matthew.
GOLDEN i have not done more my filmwork on him.
Yet i'm looking forward to doing it a lot of
people and it based on a couple of the reports
THAT i. Saw even the people From texas were full
up their char, chair blown away that he ran a
four two nine forty yard dash.

Speaker 4 (39:12):
And i'm told that was on a bad.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
Ankle i'm told that, he you, know like Gunner helm
was dealing with it with an ankle issue four two
nine with a one four to nine ten, split which
was which was.

Speaker 4 (39:25):
Terrific and then he. Stopped you, know.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
People, say, well, yeah you're gonna stop with fortune, night
but he didn't do anything else the position drills or,
nothing AND i was told it was because of the.
Ankle and you, KNOW i think he's, good a nice.
RECEIVER i don't think he's a great. RECEIVER i thought
coming in to the combine BECAUSE i did My texas film.
Work he was head and shoulders Above Isaiah, bond who
shot his mouth off before the combine and just did

(39:51):
not deliver and drops a lot of passes as he
did during HIS uh during position. Drills But Matthew golden helped.
Himself we'll see what, it you, know if he can,
finish if he can complete the circle At Pro.

Speaker 1 (40:03):
DAY a couple other GUYS i Have tony did really.
Nice Jane HIGGINS uh six, four two hundred and fourteen,
pounds ran a four to four seven one to five
to three, split jumped almost forty inches thirty.

Speaker 2 (40:14):
Nine ten to eight broad really nice testing.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
Numbers that guy's going to be a second round pick
with with with those with those size weight.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
Height speed in his. Tape he's going to be a
second round pick for some.

Speaker 4 (40:24):
Team you.

Speaker 3 (40:26):
Know he was one of those guys that WHEN i
saw the test, numbers watch him the position drills really
didn't impress me as.

Speaker 4 (40:33):
Much he showed some. Stiffness the guy that blew me
away THAT i was really impressed with during the entire
work it was Don Kate thwarton Of.

Speaker 3 (40:43):
Tennessee four point three seconds in the forty with a
one to five to one ten yard, split six foot,
five caught the ball incredibly. Well looked fluid and, natural you,
know with the shortened with the short and deep, throws
great ad just to the errant. Pass he was in
that second group of quarterbacks With Jalen. MILROE i Thought,

(41:07):
thornton who really didn't get much chatter before the, season
who had a terrific, season looked out standing during the
during the, combine his combine working On.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
Saturday, Yeah i'm looking forward to going back and watching his.
Team one of the bigger guy THAT i Thought tony helped.
Himself the fact That stanford wide Receiver elek eielmen er
six to oh, one almost six almost six to.

Speaker 2 (41:31):
Two he ran a.

Speaker 1 (41:32):
Four to four to four with a thirty eight and
a half inch vert ten to seven. Broad those are
very good athletic numbers for a guy when you watch
him on tape that's not that type of athleticism doesn't
necessarily pop when you watch.

Speaker 3 (41:43):
Him, yeah he looked like a straight line type guy
and he needs to improve his.

Speaker 4 (41:47):
Routes BUT i would agree with, you and he caught
the ball very. Well he did very well during the position.
Drills and you want to talk about a bigger tight
end who. IMPRESSED i really Liked Isaac, tesler who basically
half his neighborhood was on. Hand if you watch the,
workout they were they were sitting behind me in the
fan section street you were sitting with, Them, WELL i.

Speaker 3 (42:07):
KNOW i was not sitting with. THEM i was at
our section where we were allowed to. Sit you, know
they were so nice to.

Speaker 4 (42:12):
Us was basically right off the field the fan, section
and it was packed On.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
Saturday tesla's family and neighborhood were right behind. Me but
he was terrific and they had reason to. Cheer four
four three and the forty one five one ten yards
split thirty nine and a half inch for a ten
to nine broad jump six' eight five. Three cone even
though he didn't show great route running skills, In position
jills caught the ball incredibly well made in an athletic

(42:40):
over the shoulder reception late in, the day which was.
Eye popping absolutely helped himself for a guy that's six,
y four two hundred and.

Speaker 1 (42:51):
Fourteen pounds so you're, Telling, Me Tony isaac tesla had an?

Speaker 2 (42:54):
Electric performance is that where?

Speaker 4 (42:56):
You go there?

Speaker 3 (42:57):
You go, we could, we could we could doze a
little a few thanks in his performances like the, route
running but he showed a good Three con so you
know that the the, abilities here a, potentials here.

Speaker 1 (43:10):
Very good three, Slot. GUYS tony i want to point
OUT that i thought did a. Nice Job, jalen lane
just under, five ten one hundred ninety, one pounds ran
a four to three four one five to zero uh
split forty, inch vert eleven. Inch broad he did a
nice job At The senior bowl. As Well, jalen knowle
the Teammate Of jayden higgins five ten one ninety four

(43:33):
four three ninety one five one split jumped really well
six seven five, three cone which is a really. Nice
number he did well AND then I Though kyle williams
out there, as well five ten one ninety four four
one five.

Speaker 2 (43:46):
Five split he.

Speaker 1 (43:46):
Jumped well so those are three Slot guys TONY that
i thought did a really nice job showing off.

Speaker 3 (43:50):
THEIR speed I thought dominic love it did. VERY well
i know the testing numbers, weren't great four four IN the,
uh forty but he was projected to be a four
or five to, five guy four or five, eight guy
so he was a lot faster than. People thought just
ran super, quick routes sharp. Route running kate, got quickly,

(44:11):
got intebrates got out, of him ready to catch the ball.
ON balance i thought he did a. Terrific JOB and
i know his forty time, was HORRENDOUS but I Thought
tez johnson. Rebounded well he had some other. Good marks
forty times was four or. Five one his three cone
time was sixty six' five thirty seven. Inch vertical jump but.

(44:35):
He's much faster he's more quick than fast, as people
say and he. Showed that quickness he talked about slot
guys and the ability to separate.

Speaker 4 (44:43):
During position drills people going to talk about the four,
OR five, one i say watch the position drills because he.
Showed the ability he's gonna be one of those guys
that it's gonna be tough.

Speaker 3 (44:53):
To, cover him granted he's onnder one hundred and sixty
pounds because he's so.

Speaker 4 (44:57):
Quick running routes he.

Speaker 1 (44:58):
Also got a one five, three ten yards so he
got out early and that shows his, explosiveness, and quickness
right so he'll get. On you quick he just seems
to be missing, that top, end you know sprinter speed
in that. Final twenty. YARDS one time i Was, disappointed
BY tony but i think he's a. Really Good player
ricky WHITE at the unlv just ran a four. TO
six one i was hoping he would get into the.

(45:19):
Mid four fives he did have a one five to five,
ten yard split which is which.

Speaker 2 (45:24):
Is not, a BAD time but i wish you would
have a.

Speaker 1 (45:26):
Little bit Better And THEN jack bash i thought was
pretty good in the field workouts, catching the ball though
he didn't.

Speaker 4 (45:30):
Do, any Testing Yeah and Josh Kelly.

Speaker 3 (45:33):
OF texas, Tech, i mean john you could probably be
him in the forty. Four to seven but when you
watch him, on the film he's a. Real good receiver.
He plays fast he was the go To Guy, first
Washington state. Then texas tech so you know in those
later in the, very late rounds you're gonna have to
roll The Dice, on josh kelly who's a good football
player but not. A, great athlete.

Speaker 1 (45:53):
Tony that somebody really scary chasing me to get the
four to seven and maybe that, twenty, years ago maybe.

Speaker 2 (45:59):
But not happening you Were. It the kathleen what was your, Best?
Forty time tony did you?

Speaker 1 (46:05):
Ever?

Speaker 4 (46:05):
Run it no it was it was. One hundred meters it.

Speaker 2 (46:09):
Was one hundred meters time.

Speaker 4 (46:11):
Out of a in, the mid elevens, eleven eleven five
and that was out of a starting block with two,
hands coming out. Not, one hand.

Speaker 2 (46:22):
See we're getting. INTO technicals here i like. It all.

Speaker 1 (46:25):
Right i'm happy well you WANT to do o line
next to, Running, Backs next tony.

Speaker 4 (46:29):
Let's go running backs because They. Were, on SATURDAY yeah
and i thought.

Speaker 2 (46:32):
They were, phenomenal uh, YEAH you.

Speaker 1 (46:33):
Know i agree this was probably, Solidified, to me tony
this is probably the best group that, in the draft
except for maybe. The defensive, LINE and boy i, have
five guys but we could talk about twelve of them if.

Speaker 2 (46:46):
We wanted to Let's Start.

Speaker 1 (46:47):
With MARION hampton But i think he's probably going to
be the second running Back Pick, after ashton genty who
did not, test out there came in at basically six
foot two hundred and, twenty one pounds ran a four
four six one, five to four jumped out of the
holding thirty eight inch ten ten broad a four, to
four shuttle checked every box, you would want and there's
a real good chance he gets into the back end of.

Speaker 4 (47:08):
THE first round a, couple.

Speaker 3 (47:09):
Of, THINGS you know I reported on saturday that there
are some Teams That have omarion hampton as the number
one back. In, the draft now there were some Teams
That had zach wilson Rated Ahead. OF trevor lawrence, i
MENTIONED that and I still think genty is the, number
one back but that's an opinion to.

Speaker 4 (47:28):
Keep out there.

Speaker 3 (47:29):
Want to, see you know he didn't run the three
cone time the four to four to twenty, yard shuttle
is but that's.

Speaker 4 (47:35):
Indicative of him because he's great in.

Speaker 3 (47:37):
A straight, line he's, fast he's, explosive he's powerful but
that side, to side, lateral you know he's not a.
PERIMETER ball, carrier i think as we saw with the
show with the twenty yard showd didn't run.

Speaker 4 (47:49):
The three cone he is. WHAT he, is i mean he.

Speaker 3 (47:52):
Is a talented athletic, between the tackles ball carrier who also. Catches,
the ball well if you're looking for that, type of,
back you know late in, the first round early in.

Speaker 4 (48:01):
The second round you're Gonna Look. AT omaron hampton.

Speaker 1 (48:04):
I was Really Impressed By quinn. Shawn jenkins' workout tony
came into five. ELEVEN two twenty i didn't think he
was gonna break a.

Speaker 2 (48:12):
FOUR or five.

Speaker 1 (48:13):
I really didn't he came into four four eight, one
five one, ten yards split, thirty inch vert thirty, eight
inch vert part of me. Eleven foot broad he was
a much BETTER athlete than i thought he. Was gonna
be after watching, Him, ON tape man I think he
i would Pick Him over. TRAVION henderson myself i know
You're a. Big henderson guy so we can have that
debate for the next month, and a half. Which IS

(48:34):
great but I Thought quin shawn jenkins had a, really
nice day.

Speaker 3 (48:38):
Didn't really transition that. Athleticism into positions bill showed a,
little bit stiffness was not as good moving sideline to sideline.

Speaker 4 (48:46):
SOME of them i.

Speaker 3 (48:48):
AGREE with You I think quinshawn jenkins is going to
come off The Board. BEFORE trevion henderson i think he's
probably a guy who's probably gonna go middle. OF round,
two i Mean If the dallas cowboys don't take a
running back in, the first round they, WANT a receiver
i could absolutely See them taking judkins. IN round two
i Just Think that trevion henderson is probably gonna be

(49:09):
a more productive pro because he does so many things
better because he's a. Little bit faster you saw me
he Was faster than jenkins in the in the, forty
but yeah. HE was terrific i Thought That by sean
toutin obviously with that four three. Two forty uh and
he plays that speed one four nine in the with

(49:30):
his ten split forty and a half inch vertical jump ten,
ten broad jump and that was. On an ankle that
was that's about. Ninety five percent he struggled all last
year with. An ankle injury he was about the ankle
is about ninety percent at the senior ball and the
ankle still. Isn't fully healthy so it'll be interesting to

(49:50):
see what He Does. At PRO day but i thought
his he caught the ball extremely well, in position drills
made some, nice DEEP receptions and I think now touton's
A guy like. JENKINS helped Himself i think touton is
a guy in a stacked running back class could get
consideration late. In day two but there's so, many running

(50:10):
backs somebody's gonna have.

Speaker 4 (50:12):
To.

Speaker 1 (50:12):
FALL out yeah i thought he was, Really, Impressive too toty,
i'm with, you My Guy. OR jay HARVEY i thought
i had a good day FIVE eight two o five
four four forty one, five seven split jumped really well four.
THREE four shuttle i thought. He looked good, uh and
again any other the running backs jumped out. THIS one
guy i want to BRING up that i have a
couple Of, questions about tony but anyone else that had
that really, pumped for you that you were very impressed

(50:33):
by based, On, YOUR expectations.

Speaker 3 (50:35):
Heady i thought trevor atn did. A solid job i
thought he, was you know the testing marks were decent
four four two in the forty with a one to
five one ten.

Speaker 2 (50:44):
Yards, quickening, the, drills though man he was bas thirty
five and.

Speaker 3 (50:47):
A half inch for ten four in the broad outstanding,
IN the, drills i mean, just great, footwork great balance
past catching ability. WAS top notch i thought he.

Speaker 4 (50:57):
Did.

Speaker 3 (50:57):
REALLY well Uh I thought dylan sampson was another guy
in the drills. Who did well didn't run the forty
thirty five inch ver ten to four broad jump. SUPER quick,
foot i mean this was a guy who looks when you,
watch the film he looks. Basically straight lineish, but you
know during, the position drills showed excellent footwork getting, over
the bags a lot of terrific, past catching ability which

(51:20):
he really Never. Did AT tennessee So i thought sampson
during the drills specifically really stood.

Speaker 1 (51:26):
Out for Me and then I'll Just know caleb, johnson
out there tell me. A little disappointed, six to one
two hundred and. Twenty four pounds people told me he
was gonna run in. The four fours he runs in, the, four,
four five seven one six two ten yards split looked
like a lot of, build.

Speaker 2 (51:42):
Up speed just did not.

Speaker 4 (51:43):
LOOK very explosive i completely, agree WITH you, And i
mean johnson's a GUY on film. I absolutely loved, i thought,
that you know a chance to Basically Battle o marion
hampton for that second Running.

Speaker 3 (51:56):
Back SPOT boy? Was i, WRONG because yeah i mean
it Was not good and when you watch. Him on,
film he said guy's got to burst, through the hole
can beat defenders into the open field and then. Run
the daylight good short, area quickness too with the ability to,
make defenders, miss you know and. You go, back you're
like it's a partotypical running back that Comes. Out of

(52:18):
iowa That's, great on saturday but may not have the
skills To. Play, on sunday granted we have to wait.
And see that the dialogue has to be played out.
Completely BUT fully but i. AGREE with, you i mean
just very. DISAPPOINTING to me i don't think.

Speaker 2 (52:32):
We mentioned it during. The wide receivers ted McMillan did
not do, anything.

Speaker 4 (52:36):
He did but he did have a great.

Speaker 3 (52:38):
Cycle logical test somebody told me ONE of the hq
test or something was just off the.

Speaker 4 (52:41):
Charts, WITH him yeah i.

Speaker 2 (52:43):
Heard that too he.

Speaker 1 (52:44):
Also measured it, it's six four two hundred nineteen pounds and,
he's a big Big Kid and travis hunter. Obviously a
cornerback we didn't mention that in wide receiver he was LISTENED.

Speaker 2 (52:52):
As a dB he.

Speaker 1 (52:53):
Said he didn't he. Didn't request that THAT'S just what
nfl teams wanted him. To BE at but i think his.
Measurements were good tony's six foot one hundred. And eighty
eight there was some worries he might be like five ten,
one seventy five and he weighed.

Speaker 3 (53:03):
In, very well now let's see what it is. At pro,
day you know how heavy is? He at prodaate what
does HE run at prota if in, Fact, he Runs.

Speaker 1 (53:11):
Yeah maybe he'm not going to MEASURE again. At proda
too maybe. He'll just, Run who knows we'll have to.
Wait and, see all, Right, Offensive line tony let's start,
with the measurements because, there was, one you, know big
spotlight and we had talked a lot about THIS heading
in i talked to people about this during the week
and everyone, Swore To me will campbell is gonna come
in with thirty?

Speaker 2 (53:27):
Three, inch arms yeah he did not thirty two, and.

Speaker 1 (53:31):
Five eighths which is that's a tough number to play
offensive Tackle In The. National football league what are you
hearing from teams based? Off that measurement.

Speaker 3 (53:40):
Really next to nothing, because they, did you know nothing
as of yet because of the fact that they measure
right before. They work out So they, measured sunday morning They,
worked out, sunday you know through. The early afternoon, then
everybody left so there was really wasn't much time.

Speaker 4 (53:57):
To talk to Anybody Yet about will campbell.

Speaker 1 (54:00):
With, the airport tony what were you doing win for the?
Plane to, leave, come on man.

Speaker 4 (54:03):
THERE you GO i was i was actually rushing to
get my FLIGHT back because i wanted to get. The
heck home, BUT you're, right i mean you know.

Speaker 3 (54:10):
It's gonna be it could Be A situation will campbell
where this is not going, to help him, where a
Team Maybe, the chicago bears takes him and puts him
at left tackle, until you know he, proves that, he
you know can't, play the position and maybe they.

Speaker 4 (54:25):
Kick him inside but.

Speaker 3 (54:26):
It's gonna be it's gonna be, a large discussion a
hotly debated discussion. In war rooms there will be some
teams that, have these measurables and if you don't, make
the measurables you're, not you know you're you're off the board.
At that position so there will be some teams at
thirty two and five eighths in charms that move. Him
to guard, AND you know i. Had not heard, we

(54:46):
had people we had guests on this program who. TALKED about,
It i said i'll BELIEVE it when. I see it
you know that, said he ran he was he had. A,
TERRIFIC day yeah i, mean you know his testing, numbers
were good thirty two inch for one to seven six,
ten yard split nine.

Speaker 4 (55:06):
To five broad the position.

Speaker 3 (55:08):
Drills were terrific if you, watch the workout he, went
down early he slid down and it looked like he
may have hurt his knee the way the way, he
went down but he got back up and he finished
the entire workout and he. Did RELATIVELY well so i
mean the athleticism is there are teams going to penalize

(55:28):
him because his arms are half inch shorter than what they.
Desire to tackle, some, teams, Will.

Speaker 1 (55:36):
Yeah absolutely look it doesn't show up. On tape either
it's only guys a long arm. Them all day so
that that's the decision teams are gonna, have to, Make
all right who else in the?

Speaker 2 (55:46):
Offensive line group tony.

Speaker 4 (55:47):
REALLY impressed you I thought armand. MEMBO was outstanding i
mean four nine to one forty at three hundred and,
thirty two pounds thirty four inch vertical jump nine seven nine.

Speaker 1 (55:59):
Seven the jump how about his arms coming in a
good half inch shorter than they Did At.

Speaker 2 (56:03):
THE senior bowl i was surprised by that.

Speaker 3 (56:06):
Displayed great feet and movement skills when, they did that
when they do that, long pulling drill the deep pulling
drill where they turned, to the right turned to the
left and. GET out front i mean the guy looked
literally like a three, hundred pounds sprinter that's how fluid and.

Speaker 4 (56:21):
SMOOTH he, Was i agree.

Speaker 3 (56:23):
I've thought, that you know we knew he was a
first round pick coming. INTO the combine i think he's
probably moved himself into the middle part.

Speaker 4 (56:31):
Of round one who.

Speaker 1 (56:33):
Else jumped, Out of you tony at the? Tackle position
specifically or is that where the line gets? Drawn, for,
you well.

Speaker 3 (56:39):
YEAH you know I Thought, That, jaylen travis travis, the
big guy the Big Tackle from iowa state five four In,
the forty okay, it's not great but still for a,
god that size thirty five inches in, the vertical jump
nine foot four in the broad jump of three hundred and.

Speaker 4 (56:55):
Thirty nine pounds moved.

Speaker 3 (56:57):
Around relatively well is going to be a right TACKLE.
In the nfl but a very, athletic and strong and he's.
A nasty guy he looks. TO finish Blocks I. THINK
josh connelly i think maybe now he was, on MY
guardboard maybe i can move him over to tackle five
oh five and the forty with a one to seven
ten yards split thirty four and a, half inch vert

(57:20):
displayed terrific footwork, during position drills easily moved. Around the,
field you. Know six' Four We talk about will campbell
with the thirty two. And five h arms our teams comfortable,
with a you know with a uh a tackle. That's
six foot four he's showing the. ABILITY to do it
i may be. Wrong on this one showed. A Lot,

(57:41):
Of Athleticism on sunday.

Speaker 2 (57:42):
Joda savnea had a really nice. Day and not surprising
he looked like a really Good Athlete at.

Speaker 1 (57:46):
The senior bowl too he just needs to work on
the technique to utilize that athleticism as a blocker six
four three twenty four just under thirty four inch, arms four,
eight five one seven, Two four nine five i'm sorry one.
Seven in the forty his vert and broad jumps weren't
great under thirty, inches on the vert under nine, feet
on the broad but HE moved well and i think

(58:08):
kind of a as a moving pulling guard he could
he could certainly MAKE, it.

Speaker 4 (58:11):
In the nfl yeah or maybe even. MAYBE even, a
tackle i mean for a guy, THAT'S that that big
i thought those numbers. WERE pretty darn good i. Did
watch the fundamentals every time he.

Speaker 3 (58:22):
Took a good repetition his knees were, bent excellent pad
level kept that paed level throughout the, THROUGHOUT the, Position Drills,
I thought tyler booker i think he's the guy that
when you, look at his numbers you're five three eight
and the forty twenty seven, inch in the vertical seventy.
Ten in the broad but then you watch the, position drills,

(58:42):
and wow quick feet blah blah, blah blah blah, bah
always on, balance bending his knees showed violent hand Punch
Basically not the cincinnati bengal coach who was holding the
blocking bag back. Off OF his feet And I, think
that tyler booker you're not gonna be press. With the
testing numbers but if you watch the film and, THEN

(59:03):
the position drills i mean.

Speaker 4 (59:05):
It was next level.

Speaker 1 (59:07):
And One guy didn't mention tony because, he didn't work
out so we didn't get any times on him except for.

Speaker 2 (59:11):
The, forty yard dash actually you don't anything he.

Speaker 1 (59:14):
EVEN did The Forty, I thought tylie williams i, Thought
from my house state looked really good in the position drills,
on the defensive line even though he didn't TEST just
the name i wanted to THROW out there as i
looking at my NOTES and realized that i got to
bring him up.

Speaker 3 (59:25):
With, the defensive line yeah except. FOR the running backs
A Lot of the ohio state guys when we, KNEW
that going, in i didn't run staying with. The Offensive
lineup Foot Josh gray of oregon state did well five
three in the forty with a ten yards split. Of
one seven three, looked good in drills and this is
a guy that's played tackle guard and if, you remember
the trinball he. Was Taking snaps Obviously, jared wilson of

(59:49):
georgia who a lot of people believe will be the first.
Center off the board i'm not a. Huge fan of
him on film four to eight to four in the
forty with a ten yard split, of one seven two
Thirty two, inch arms i'm sorry thirty two inch vertical
jump and, look look very mobile. Looked athletic during drills his,
tape just, doesn't really you know. Do It for me

(01:00:11):
maybe i'll have to go back And look at That
Gray's Able of north dakota, State thirty didn't run IT'S
gonna run during prod eight thirty six and a half
inches in the vertical jump nine to three in the broad,
good change in direction has a thick build and as
a reported At, the from the combine there's a lot
of People that believe that zabel could could slide into

(01:00:31):
the late.

Speaker 4 (01:00:32):
Part of round one so that's something to, Keep, An.

Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
Eye on hi.

Speaker 1 (01:00:36):
Tony final thoughts before. We say goodbye here now we
are around seven weeks away or eight WEEKS Away FROM the.

Speaker 4 (01:00:44):
Nfl draft proda started We're taking.

Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
THIS on March THIRD i believe, indiana's proda is tomorrow
so it's. JUST like, Never ending i mean combine was a,
little bit more, laborious if you will then it. HAS
been years past I hope that the nfl. Can, TIGHTEN
that up granted i know they want to make it a,
show for the fans but it's supposed to be first

(01:01:09):
and foremost a scouting event and a massive job interview
for these guys Who want. TO play sunday football i
really hope that they would recognize it and basically run
Every workout the way sunday's workout was run, by the
offensive lineman, because it was, crisp it was compact it, was.

Speaker 4 (01:01:27):
To the point and we got a Lot out. Of
that sunday workout the other days we're a, Little. Bit helter.

Speaker 1 (01:01:32):
Skelter tony good stuff we'll be back with you next
week for another draft season and Brought. To you by
moody's we'll try to figure out what we're doing next
week because, it's free agency week so on a lot OF.
People in the nfl will, We focused on that so
we'll do something kind of. Heavy, on the draft well
maybe we'll do something, like, sleepers at positions, risers something
like that something that kind of gets into the meat
of this draft class. In terms of guys you just

(01:01:54):
keep an, Eye, on moving forward tony we'll talk. To
you next week anything on sports key to coming up
this week that fans you.

Speaker 2 (01:01:59):
Keep an eye on a.

Speaker 3 (01:02:01):
Lot of insider using, notes from the combine still a
lot of good. Stuff from the past we'll have some
throughout the week and by the end of the week
we'll have, An updated mock draft so keep an.

Speaker 1 (01:02:12):
Eye out of that Check it out and We'll See
you on. Draft season next week.

Speaker 2 (01:06:42):
It's now Officially Open.

Speaker 1 (01:06:49):
This is Draft, season presented by moody's a Proud Partner Of, The, New,
York Giants. Dcode dress unlock opportunity learn more. In Moodies,
Dot Com john smoke tony pauline with You Another. Episode
of draft season my voice isn't back. All the way
yet between all THE live shows that i Did Out There,
On Big Bookick, golf live giant huddle and then out
at night trying to figure, Out what's going on i'm.

Speaker 2 (01:07:09):
Still feeling it it, I'm. NOT gonna lie.

Speaker 1 (01:07:11):
Tony i fell asleep in the middle Of watching workouts
on saturday night at the end of the. SECOND wide
receiver group i did not, completely CATCH up yesterday but i.
GOT most everything in i know it was a busy week.
For you, as well welcome, Back by.

Speaker 4 (01:07:23):
The, way thank you. NO it, was insane i, mean those.

Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
WERE long grueling days i never thought that sitting on
my rear end for eight hours, Would Be SO tiring
but thursday i was in the. WORKOUTS at three thirty
i stayed till, eight o'clock at night and the linebackers Were,
STILL going on friday i was in the work. AT
a three THIRTY i left at i. HAD a dinner

(01:07:47):
date i left. At seven point fifteen the tight.

Speaker 4 (01:07:50):
Ends were just.

Speaker 3 (01:07:51):
BEGINNING saturday was nuts i got. There, At three THIRTY
no i'm. SORRY i got there i got there at twelve.
Thirty because it started once. GOT there at twelve i.

Speaker 4 (01:08:00):
LEFT it eight.

Speaker 3 (01:08:01):
O'clock i was there for seven and a half hours
and the second group of the receivers. Were still going
on sunday. Was the best day got. There at one
o'clock they were done. By four to ten It was.
A short chris, workout but you know we'll. Talk about
it more they got to do. Something condensing these workouts
this is, my twenty fifth combine MY first combine when
i was there in, two thousand and one they started

(01:08:23):
the workouts at nine. O'clock in the morning they were
usually done by. Twelve to one o'clock, and it, was
bing bing bing the way it Was. With the offensive lineman,
just too many, breaks too MUCH extension primarily for tv and.
Some of the teams you're not, very happy, About.

Speaker 1 (01:08:39):
It all right so let's before we get, To, the
workouts themselves tony this would Be kind of. Our combine review,
show by, The Way You. Know big surprise who what
are some of the things that you heard during the
week about, what teams are thinking specifically towards the top
of the draft or just. About Players in general.

Speaker 4 (01:09:00):
The titans.

Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
Want to trade down there are reports Out There that
both new york teams would like to trade Up.

Speaker 4 (01:09:04):
To Get cam ward the Titans.

Speaker 3 (01:09:06):
DO like cam ward I still feel and i've heard
that if they don't get the, package that they want
there's a very very good Chance they could take They.
Could TAKE cam, ward as i said going back To
the shrinebel cam ward has affixed himself assured himself to be.
THE first quarterback selected i do think There's a chance the. Titans,
could take him obviously there is an opportunity or there's

(01:09:28):
going to be the opportunity for teams to trade. Up,
to get him conversely as a reported yesterday on at the,
Sports Skia, Dot com shad. Door sanders is falling he's
you know a lot of people think the earliest he's
going to go right. Now is number six the film
is not good, from twenty twenty four as, a lot,
of people you know when they, look back on it

(01:09:49):
there is a, concern about you know his, dad in
injecting himself you know In. Media conferences at colorado there's
also the, fact that you know he's not Helped Himself
since the shrine ball and. We were, both there you
know this Whole thing shad door sanders is going To Be.
At the shrine bowl there's gonna be, a lot of
excitement people expecting the participate. In individual passing drills he

(01:10:12):
showed up what one day in sweats and then he's,
there just, hanging out you know like he's not done
himself and he favors so far in.

Speaker 4 (01:10:20):
The pre draft process there will be.

Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
Some more some other prospects that we will talk about
when we go through the, review that you know. Have,
really helped themselves obviously we're gonna Have To talk about
will campbell, with the short arms see.

Speaker 1 (01:10:35):
Where, he, Fits IN yeah absolutely And I think how
tony I think the way i kind. Of look at
it the top three. Picks in, this draft to me
this is my big. Takeaway from the combine when we
get to pick four in the draft At, the end
of april the three players that are going to be
off the board are Going to be cam ward It's Going,
to be travis hunter and it's Going.

Speaker 2 (01:10:55):
TO be abdul carter i feel as SURE about that.

Speaker 1 (01:10:59):
As i possibly can and that includes the Fact that
al dul carter they found the stress reaction in his
foot and he might, not even you know they say
he's gonna. BE ready first party I believe that. When i,
see it but that to me is ONE of the
things i walked away. Feeling pretty good about those will
be the top three.

Speaker 2 (01:11:14):
PICKS in the draft i.

Speaker 3 (01:11:15):
Thought that all, along and you, know like you said
we don't know the. Order as, of yet, you know
number four It Could, IT be mason. Graham i don't
Know could, it be ted McMillan who psychologically, tested off
the charts not the fastest, guy in the, world, but
a big dominant game Controlling receiver that. The patriots Would Like.

(01:11:37):
Could be will campbell some people were saying. THAT at
the combine i still don't see that because he's not
as good as some, of those old players although they.
Need a, left tackle. BUT yeah, you're right i mean
there's not a lot of top end. Talent in this
draft AND that's something else I Wrote. It at sports
ski there's not that generational, player at the top and teams.
Have been lamenting that like Somebody Said that if jeremiah

(01:11:59):
smith was, l go, for this Hands Down, he'd be
jeremiah smith The Freshman. Receiver from, ohio state hands down
he'd be. The first player selected but what, that leads,
to is you know, a lot of questions a. Lot
of potential surprises we usually get them in the back.
End of round one we're probably going to see a
lot of that in the top ten after.

Speaker 4 (01:12:20):
Those, First three players.

Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
Yeah i'm, with you you know one team might have
a team as, their eighth best player another team might
have that same player in the. Twenties, or the thirties
like it's, going to, be crazy all right before we, Get,
POSITIONED by position tony i was a little disappointed that
so many of the best players at individual positions did not.
Work at this combine you've been doing. This longer than me,

(01:12:42):
this was twenty eleven was my first combine or? Was it,
Twenty Twelve twenty twelve so i've done. A lot of
these you've done probably almost TWICE as. MANY as i,
have i feel like more, than ever this year the
top guys at these positions just did not work, and
they didn't, run they didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:12:59):
Test and to.

Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
Me that was disappointing where, the top tight ends, the
top defensive, tackles the, top corners you know to, go
town the, list almost every position. The top wide receiver
these guys just did not go, out there and test
and that to me was.

Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
A little bit disappointing running back.

Speaker 3 (01:13:17):
To blame the schedule GO back. TO what i Said I,
spoke with landon jackson who. Had a superior, workout he,
was great YOU know right, AFTER i saw him i went.

Speaker 4 (01:13:29):
Up and introduced myself we. Have a.

Speaker 3 (01:13:30):
Common Friend we talked landon jackson told me that they
got him up at seven.

Speaker 4 (01:13:35):
O'clock in the morning he didn't run.

Speaker 3 (01:13:37):
Until five, at night so basically for except for maybe
a little, stress he had been he. Did nothing all
day he sat around all day. Waiting to work out
you can't do that, and expect, people to you know,
be willing to perform to, perform at peak performance, because
they have, schedules and you know the schedule does not
include hanging around for eight hours doing nothing and then getting.

(01:14:02):
Out there and performing even if you know Players that
you know monday night football who. Play at eight o'clock,
they have a schedule and the training schedule when they
get ready for the combine, is not you know, Let's
get you up let's wait your round for eight hours
and then.

Speaker 4 (01:14:16):
We'll do the workout the other thing was there was a.
Problem WITH the.

Speaker 3 (01:14:19):
Field as i reported you saw really from the first
day when the defensive, lineman took the field guys were.
Slipping Left, and right cameron horsley The Defensive, tackle from
boston college could not. STAY on, His Feet i mean
will campbell yesterday. Took a bad spill looked. Like he hurt.
Himself fortunately HE didn't and what i learned was after the,

(01:14:41):
twenty twenty four season they put A New Turf, on
lucas soil stadium and that defensive line group That went
off on thursday was the first group of players that were.
Actually ON that field SO i think that i think
the fact that players were waiting around for hours before
they got, it on the, field the condition itself, a lot,

(01:15:02):
of that you know, led to you, know players. Not,
TESTING not performing obviously i don't Think Any of the
ohio state players ran you can check you can check Check.
Me on MAYBE wanet but and, i had reported that
and that's because you know the lateness, of the college
season the fact that the college season stretched To the

(01:15:24):
end of january for some Teams.

Speaker 4 (01:15:26):
The middle of.

Speaker 3 (01:15:26):
January who did make the title Game Except for a
howse state. AND note your dame i think that also
precluded some of the players.

Speaker 4 (01:15:35):
From, Actually working.

Speaker 2 (01:15:36):
Out, Yeah I'm.

Speaker 1 (01:15:38):
With you TONY so and then i think when, you
get to it because so many of the top guys
from each position. Group didn't actually work you didn't have
those numbers where you like fall off your, chair, and you're,
like oh my goodness look. How great this guy look how.
Great that guy was so in a draft class that's,
already not top heavy.

Speaker 2 (01:15:56):
The guys that are supposed to be.

Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
The best didn't run so you have it a bunch
of guys that are not going to blow you away.

Speaker 2 (01:16:02):
From an, ATHLETIC standpoint.

Speaker 3 (01:16:03):
And again i think a lot of that had to,
do with the field that the turf. Conditions being so
slippery we did, see, some good times uh we didn't see.
Any great knockout times and the, funny thing is, is
in my opinion we'll talk. ABOUT this later on i
thought the offensive line group was the best group of
the four days of, on the field workouts and it's

(01:16:25):
probably no surprise that that field had three prior days
of being worked in by, the other. You, know two
hundred well it, was fifty, offensive lineman you. Know, and
fifty players uh and then the offensive linemen were. Able to,
Do well all.

Speaker 2 (01:16:40):
Right so let's, Start.

Speaker 1 (01:16:40):
The defensive lineman tony we'll go to the order in which.
These guys these worked i'll throw a couple GUYS out
there that i thought did well in terms of on
field drills and in. Terms Of THEIR workouts darius alexander.
I thought helped himself had had a sub five second
forty four, seven ten yard split pretty good jumps with
thirty one inch. VERT nine three broad i thought. He

(01:17:03):
Did PRETTY well derek harmon i. Thought was very mobile
he showed his ability to move. In the Drills Too,
AND then ty robinson i think you saw the stiffness a.
Little bit, with him you know he's, not very you know,
side to side quick but he ran a forty three
over thirty three inches on the vert almost. A ten
foot broad those, the guys to me at least in.
Terms of the testing we'll get to some of the
drills IN a second that i thought did. A, REALLY

(01:17:24):
nice Job.

Speaker 4 (01:17:25):
Hey i thought.

Speaker 3 (01:17:26):
ROBINSON did very well i know you're, talking about, DEFENSIVE
tackles You Know i thought josh farmer, had a good,
workout but you know he ran a, five to one
one which is usually pretty good number for a, for
a defensive tackle but compared to some, of the fashion.
Times it's not good.

Speaker 1 (01:17:43):
ONE seventh sils though i thought He was great in farmer,
in the field work he.

Speaker 2 (01:17:47):
Moved, very one.

Speaker 3 (01:17:48):
Seventh yeah he had a one seven, seven TEN yard
split which. I. Thought was Outstanding. CJ west of indiana
i mean four nine five in the forty one seven,
three ten yard split thirty three inch vertical jump for
a three hundred and. SIXTEEN pound, defensive tackle, i thought
you know and that's a guy when when you look,

(01:18:09):
at him on film he's more, of a gap, occupier hold,
your ground you know let the other, guys do the
work and then he comes out at combine and in
testing he shows some. Terrific, Some terrific numbers.

Speaker 1 (01:18:23):
YEAH i'm, With you i thought I'm happy. You brought
farmer up, is that you know he hadn't get, Wowed
BY his numbers. But i, thought overall you know he
looked good in the in THE. Field, WORK t j
sanders i thought show his movement ability even though. The
Testing wasn't phenomenal alfred collins is an, Interesting, guy to
ME tony because when i Saw, Him at, the, pony
i'm like whoa this guy's impressive with what he weighed

(01:18:44):
in at.

Speaker 2 (01:18:44):
And how he looks he carries. The weight extremely well he's.

Speaker 1 (01:18:47):
Just a, huge guy but boy his explosive numbers on
his jumps, were just not great and you want an
explosive player even at that. Size OF defensive tackle so
i have not done my full. WORK on him yet
i was curious what Your Thoughts were on. Alfred, COLLINS
this week.

Speaker 4 (01:19:04):
Well i mean.

Speaker 3 (01:19:07):
Overly large Defensive tackle coming from texas who. Doesn't test
that well people think he's too big and then goes.
On to have Success THE film on collins i, was very,
impressed with you know the.

Speaker 4 (01:19:18):
SIZE and the.

Speaker 3 (01:19:19):
Athleticism i was not but we've seen, this before and
unfortunately people like myself have sometimes read too much into
it And Then guys like alfred collins have gone on
to have success.

Speaker 2 (01:19:32):
At the, next level all right let's switch out kind
of the defensive. End edge, Rusher Types.

Speaker 1 (01:19:37):
YOUR tone james pierce i know a lot of people
made a big deal because he had the. Best forty
yard dacts you think we all kind of expected, that
he's very light.

Speaker 2 (01:19:44):
He's a linear player. He looked pretty good his explosive
numbers on.

Speaker 1 (01:19:48):
The jumping were eh they weren't as good as the
forty might Have Elite, TO believe shamar stewart i thought the,
interesting thing about him we all expected him to test
very well when he did the one five eight split,
on the forties phenomenal only twenty, to sixty seven pounds
so he was fourteen pounds lighter than what He Was,
at THE senior bowl which.

Speaker 2 (01:20:05):
I thought was Interesting.

Speaker 3 (01:20:07):
Interesting note ABOUT shamar stewart and i talked to. A
couple of Players he has this, olympian work type workout
but he only has one. And A half sacks and
i asked a couple, of people about it and they
said he's. A straight line player they said the reason
he only had one and a half sacks.

Speaker 4 (01:20:23):
Is he CAN'T.

Speaker 3 (01:20:23):
Bend off the edg he can't change direction and he missed.
A lot of sacks if he had that sort of
ability to bend. Or to change direction his sack numbers would.
Have been much higher and he didn't, run the three
come he didn't run the. Twenty yard short, shuttle in
my mind when, They're telling Me This. I'm thinking taylor
Mays If you remember taylor mays THE. SAFETY out of

(01:20:47):
usc i. Mean he Was great he had olympic type
numbers when he. PERFORMED in the combine i believe it
was around. Twenty twelvesh or so but he couldn't move
two inches to. His left or right and somebody Made The.
Comparison to vernon Gulston As far, As simar stewart's concern
he's Just. Say he's running goolston he looks great IN shorts,
and a t shirt but struggles bending, off of the
edge which is why his. Production, was so, bad yet,

(01:21:10):
you Saw you know an olympic athlete On The Turf.
At lucas Oil Stadium.

Speaker 2 (01:21:15):
You mentioned landon jackson you. Know his explosive numbers he.

Speaker 1 (01:21:18):
Jumped over forty inches, that WAS very good And I
Thought prince ll juman mialem actually did. A pretty nice
job now he's a little light at, two FORTY four
tony so. I wonder about that but thirty, eight inch
vertical jump ten six broad very. Good explosive numbers there
the four seven two one six to two, on the
forty okay but he was explosive a lot, lighter THAN

(01:21:38):
he's BEEN which i. Which i wonder about and he's
another guy that he's he might be having a little.

Speaker 2 (01:21:43):
Stiffness, TO his game.

Speaker 3 (01:21:45):
YEAH i, DON'T know i mean i understand the four
seven two, is a good number but he was a
guy who was projected to be a four to six guy,
coming into the, combine and the combine, more than anything.

Speaker 4 (01:21:56):
Else.

Speaker 3 (01:21:56):
Is about expectations yep if you're expected to run a
four six five and you run a, four to seven
two people. Are gonna go uh, and then you, watched like,
you said the stiffness the position. Drills weren't that great
and The thing, with with, princely is you know he's
known as a guy who doesn't consistently play. At a
high level if he consistently played, at a high, level

(01:22:18):
and then expectations you're talking about a TOP forty five. Pick,
i was not yeah then some of the, numbers look
really good but those were. EXPECTED the forty time i
think people expected a bit of a. Faster Time from.

Speaker 1 (01:22:28):
Him now donovan as a rock who did not do
a ton but he did have a six nine to,
four to three cone which you know for edge guys
trying to bend the edge, and stuff like that. That
was a bit that, was an impressive number though he didn't.

Speaker 3 (01:22:38):
Really, do much else yeah a four thirty five and
a half, inch of vertical jump uh four one nine,
in the short shut six nine to four. IN the
three cone i thought he, looked terrific in, drills moved
very well showed, a lot of athleticism.

Speaker 4 (01:22:54):
Didn't run the forty there's probably the reason why he
wasn't going.

Speaker 3 (01:22:57):
To time that, fast he's not. Known he's not it we'll.
Go back to expectations people are looking at him as
a four. To seven five guy probably wants to wait
till the pro day to maybe get that time down.
Into the four sixes, but he, looked good you know
the numbers that he the, testing that he did he
HAD good marks and i thought he was terrific.

Speaker 1 (01:23:16):
In the position drills and then those are the guys
mostly tony at the kind of edge defensive line.

Speaker 2 (01:23:23):
Spot That that time i'm i'm gonna.

Speaker 3 (01:23:24):
ADD one More Guy i Thought tyler baron of miami
was outstanding four six' two in the forty ten yard
split of one six to two thirty five and a
half inch vertical jump at two hundred and fifty eight
pounds ten foot one broad jump. Really Look good in
drills but baron, Is A, guy like you mian lele
in the sense that when he's on his game, and

(01:23:46):
when the motor's. Running he's an impactful guy but the motor,
isn't always running for him and seems going to look,
at those numbers and saying.

Speaker 4 (01:23:54):
Why weren't You?

Speaker 3 (01:23:55):
A constant force at miami why weren't you the guy
that people, were trying to shut down down playing him
lay out because. The motor wasn't always running but you,
know he's. Got the ability all Right go to.

Speaker 1 (01:24:05):
The linebacker tony and, look It's Very basic stuff but
johid campbell just is a different sized human being than the.
Other people of that position we died in at, six'
two almost sixty three, two hundred and thirty five pounds
but his frame can carry. Two hundred and fifty pounds
easy like you just look at how biggest frame, is

(01:24:26):
He can carry that weight and i'm sure he came
in light to run really fast and he did four
to five to two one five, three on the ten yard,
split which is an excellent time jumped Ten to seven
in the Broad So just really impressive athlete johid campbell and.

Speaker 3 (01:24:42):
Transition those athletic skills into drills because he looked very
athletic drills. During drills, moving sideline to slid you know
he was one of the few top guys. That basically
did most, of everything he didn't do everything. But he
did most, of everything and after that outstand after that
outstanding forty times took part in the position.

Speaker 4 (01:25:01):
Drills, and looked REALLY really Good.

Speaker 2 (01:25:03):
Yeah and then, I.

Speaker 1 (01:25:04):
Thought demetrius knight helped himself tony he ended up, running
A four to five eight which i think was better,
than expectations to your point earlier. One five eight ten,
yard split his jumps are okay and he also waged.
In at only two thirty five so but he was
a player that ON tape looked really good and i think,
he showed enough athletics asm, here so he can you
know maintain that spot or maybe push up a. Little

(01:25:25):
bit in Those Linebacker rankings I'm gonna add.

Speaker 3 (01:25:27):
Jeffrey bassa of oregon to that four six three in,
the forty uh ten yard, split thirty eight five vertical
jump nine ten broad. Seven three four to, three cone
not the greatest time.

Speaker 4 (01:25:41):
But. Not in.

Speaker 3 (01:25:42):
An awful time uh explosive guy and you know he's
got The mentality, because if you watch, oregon football this
guy is silent.

Speaker 4 (01:25:49):
Goes. SIDELINE to sideline making Plays uh.

Speaker 1 (01:25:51):
I was just mentioning carson swetener toni, he waiting at
two forty two which.

Speaker 2 (01:25:55):
Is a good number for him only jumped so and
it was a really good one thirty nine, and a.

Speaker 1 (01:26:00):
Half in vertical leap. Very good didn't do anything else
i'm sure we'll see him. Do, more at his, Pro
day well i'll tell.

Speaker 3 (01:26:07):
YOU i'll tell you somebody was i, was talking with,
somebody about, him and you know they? Said DO you,
THINK first round and i said i think the only
off ball linebacker that Goes In. The first round, is,
Johan campbell and they said well Sweesssenger is gonna beat
all of campbell's. Numbers when he participates in prode and
there's a Lot. Of LOVE out there For swassengers so
i still think campbell.

Speaker 4 (01:26:28):
Is the only off ball linebacker but.

Speaker 3 (01:26:30):
We're gonna Have to keep an eye on swassenger during,
that during his Pro day, workout because.

Speaker 4 (01:26:33):
From what i'm told. There's gonna.

Speaker 1 (01:26:36):
Be some outstanding, marks, excellent hair by the way too
very like He Can not fit the like west coast
football player. Profile anymore, than what he does all right, Let's,
go to defensive backs here tony and this is a group,
that talking to people out there there isn't a ton
of love. For this group of defensive backs. It JUST
isn't a great class but i thought, you saw. Some

(01:26:56):
GUYS do Really Really well and i thought max harrison
was the first we talked to Him Of.

Speaker 2 (01:27:00):
A lot of the senior bowl.

Speaker 1 (01:27:01):
Did a good, job, down there five, to eleven three
four to eight, forty ten nine on the broad thirty nine,
on thirty nine on the vertical, uh sixty seventy six
inch wingspan which is also. A very good number for
him he stole.

Speaker 2 (01:27:18):
The show. At the cornerback position he.

Speaker 4 (01:27:20):
DID and, he's a feisty guy i mean he's.

Speaker 3 (01:27:22):
Got to polish, his ball skills but you Know as
we saw at the senior ball.

Speaker 4 (01:27:25):
As, you watch, during the season uh you.

Speaker 3 (01:27:28):
Know he's, not an, opportunistic cornerback he's athletic he's fluid he,
DID well in drills and well i think there's. Room
for improvement in his game he. DOESN'T back, down to
a challenge. I mean he plays big football some people
think that workout could push Him into.

Speaker 4 (01:27:46):
THE back end of.

Speaker 3 (01:27:47):
Round one i would, BE surprised but as you said
i mean this Cornerback Class, overall is concerns about will
johnson the concerns. ABOUT a lot of different players I
really didn't hear kind of revel's NAME talked about too much.

Speaker 4 (01:28:02):
When i was talking to people during. The Day Or in.

Speaker 3 (01:28:05):
THE evening the notre dame cornerback a few people Think he's.
Gonna end up in round one So maybe there is
chance for harriston to end up in.

Speaker 4 (01:28:13):
The, back end of that frame yeah, And.

Speaker 1 (01:28:15):
All, Those, Guys You, mentioned travis hunter morrison ravel. Johnson
none of them did anything obviously a lot of. That has,
to do with injury but again just going back to
my point that not as many guys as.

Speaker 2 (01:28:27):
You would have liked, didn't fact.

Speaker 3 (01:28:29):
But, even the, chatter even the chatter you know, when
they talk about injury. Good there was not much talk
those guys' names didn't. Pop, up, in conversation.

Speaker 1 (01:28:36):
AT all yeah exactly All right a couple other guys
johnny barn he jumped vertically thirty five inch and RAN
the forty four three nine i think was the final
number right. Off THE top of my head So i
think that's a guy, tony that, in another draft class
you know a guy that maybe some, people don't think
can play outside though he. Played outside pretty well last

(01:28:58):
year curious how high he's gonna end up going here,
giving this class to your point it can barren wark
himself in even to, like the top twenty five twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:29:08):
Depending on how this draft goes that.

Speaker 3 (01:29:10):
WOULD be, a surprise to me i think in my
opinion best is. The bottom, half of round one but
again you know teams draft players who can play outside
or perceive nickelbacks at the end of, round one all
the time now because you know nickelback is a starting position,
In a lot of defensive. SCHEMES so It Wouldn't surprise

(01:29:31):
Me i thought robert longerben, of rutgers had a terrific
workout both testing. Wise as well as position drills.

Speaker 2 (01:29:41):
He's just, a, little, three right, he's.

Speaker 3 (01:29:44):
Tall right exactly he's tall but he is staying four
three five ten yards split eleven. To two in the
vertical jump, looks really good in, position drills but like
you say you know that frame probably gonna dismiss him.

Speaker 4 (01:30:02):
From any sort of. Press coverage but.

Speaker 3 (01:30:04):
His smart guy HE'S the guy who's opportunistic and I
think probably.

Speaker 4 (01:30:09):
Gonna be a day three.

Speaker 3 (01:30:10):
Pick we talk about. NICKEL backs you also need dimbacks i. Think,
longer being fits that BILL.

Speaker 1 (01:30:15):
Yeah a couple more Corners. I want to TOUCH on
tony these guys probably i think they'll. Play Inside AT
the next level jacob parrish i thought. Had a really
nice day, now he's only five to nine just under
five to ten, one hundred and ninety one pounds but
a four to three five forty ten to nine BROAD
thirty seven inch vertu just i thought looked, really smooth
in the drills too really. Really fluid Hips Could flip

(01:30:36):
them and, then caleb ransaw the other guy four three
three forty ten. Nine broad forty inch vertical JUMP those
are two guys that I think are. Going to be
day two picks they might be limited in terms of what.
Role you can use him in. But, THEY perform really
well athletically yeah I.

Speaker 3 (01:30:50):
AGREE with, especially with the ransaw i. Mean he tested
off the charts. He was highly rated by scouts ransaw.

Speaker 4 (01:30:57):
Is A.

Speaker 3 (01:30:57):
Bit like you know shamar, stewart the product is not
there but the athleticism is and the underlying ability is.
To play at the next level so you just, got
to get that package together put him in, a spot
to make him productive and. HE will be a developmental
Prospect i. KNOW he could go day two I think

(01:31:17):
he's more of A day three football player a day
two athlete because he doesn't make a.

Speaker 4 (01:31:23):
Lot of plays, on the ball but you know He.

Speaker 3 (01:31:25):
PROVED his worth at the combine i also THINK that
a couple Other Guys i Will Tell you azari thomas
of florida. State tend to a. Broad JUMP not a
big deal but i thought during. POSITION drills HE looked
really good i mean i questioned his.

Speaker 4 (01:31:42):
BALL skills throughout throughout the season i thought HE improved
during the senior ball i thought his. WORK during position
Drills Was outstanding I, also like quincy reilly of, LOUISVILLE
who coming into the combine i did have a huge
opinion of him.

Speaker 3 (01:31:59):
Four nine in the forty forty one. And a half
inch vertical jump. Also look GOOD in position jels and
when i, say look good in? Position jewels what does,
that mean it means a quick fluid back pedal rather.
Than a stiff mechanical back pedal it means the ability
to flip, your hips and really lose nothing transitioning from
moving in. Reverse to move to moving forward the ability to,

(01:32:20):
track the pass in the air especially you Know in
That dome where the whites weren sometimes, it's tough, to
lose the ball. YOU know in the it's easy i
should say it's easy to. LOSE the Ball in the
air i thought riley did a good.

Speaker 4 (01:32:33):
JOB of that one.

Speaker 2 (01:32:34):
Hundred percent i want to throw. A Couple Of guys
out there.

Speaker 1 (01:32:36):
Tony darian porter tested really well a guy his size
six three. One ninety five eighty inch wingspan they run
a six to. Seven to one to three cone that's
a really good time ten to. ELEVEN broad four zero four, shuttle,
i thought in the drills though, like that transition flipping
those hips it didn't translate.

Speaker 2 (01:32:57):
Right that type of three cone you should LOOK a.
LOT smoother in those i.

Speaker 3 (01:33:00):
Do i did a daily like wiser's Piece, after each
workout at sports skieda AND what happens is, the way,
I do it is you know i'll watch the guys
who test incredibly WELL or, test much BETTER than i
expect and then. I Watch him through the drills and
porter was among a couple of players that after his

(01:33:22):
testing so the test numbers was on my list TO
watch as a guy who i thought impressed or helped
himself or. Whatever you WANT to call it but THEN
i watched, the, DRILLS and i was like. Eh i
don't Know About. THAT same, Thing With zoaf frasier i
mean zaf frasier started off well and then, the testing
he had his Moments But it Wasn't Say like maxwell

(01:33:43):
hashton or jade barrett or even the Drills were Not As,
good AS thomas the florida state who.

Speaker 4 (01:33:49):
I thought Did a terrific.

Speaker 2 (01:33:50):
Job FINAL guy i'll mention.

Speaker 1 (01:33:51):
Just Because I think of expectations tony trey amiles is.
A guy that some guys like, at the end of,
round one, top of round two six foot, one hundred
and ninety five pounds, almost a seventy eight inch wingspan,
seventy seven and three. Quarters inches which is really nice
thirty one inch arms is. A good size for a
corner he, was IN the high four fours but i
think given, WHERE people thought he might be i thought

(01:34:12):
he did do well to kind of keep him into
the mix, as a as a top.

Speaker 2 (01:34:16):
Five. TOP six, type of corner yeah i.

Speaker 3 (01:34:18):
Mean the tape, is different from the the athleticism but
they had him at a. One six unofficial ten yard
spot the, vertical jump was thirty two. Five the broad
was ten six you gotta wonder? What's up with That Vertical.
Jump watch it during pro day but The. TAPE is
real good on amos i was Not. As HIGH on
others as, AIM as i watched, the film, i really,
liked him but again you know four four to, three for,

(01:34:41):
a guy that size you know six to one. And
change is a good time it's just not a super
fast time that we're seeing from.

Speaker 4 (01:34:49):
Some of the guys these days, some of, the players
these days.

Speaker 2 (01:34:51):
All right let's go to safety tony nick.

Speaker 1 (01:34:54):
Aminoare obviously, just stole the show he's gigantic ten six
broad forty three inch article four three three forty yard
dash at.

Speaker 2 (01:35:02):
Almost two hundred and. Thirty pounds, the guy's, a monster.

Speaker 1 (01:35:05):
He's big he's athletic and he's a guy that is going.

Speaker 2 (01:35:09):
TO be, a first round pick.

Speaker 4 (01:35:12):
I.

Speaker 3 (01:35:12):
Mean the film Bears It out you talked about shamar,
stewart and the lack of production and you know you
watched the film on m worry who. Did not participate
in position drills. AND the guy's an explosive safety i
mean he's not. Just passed in a straight, line HE
shows great speed laterally and i think the question with

(01:35:33):
him is is he going to be, a first rounder as,
a safety as, a free safety as. A linebacker as
a hybrid, player the, thing about Him Is, you know
unlike the shamar stewarts he's good side to side moving
laterally as.

Speaker 4 (01:35:49):
He IS in a straight, line and i.

Speaker 3 (01:35:51):
Agree with you he's definitely confirmed he's definitely affirmed. Himself
as a first Round Pick couldn't go higher than malachi.

Speaker 4 (01:35:59):
Starr at this point in Time what do?

Speaker 2 (01:36:02):
You, think of starks's?

Speaker 3 (01:36:02):
DAYS day OKAY disappointed in him i mean i, was
someone who in high expectations the time of four or
five or whatever the official time was doesn't really bother
me because he. PLAYS a little bit faster that i
thought he, was up and. DOWN during drills not very
smooth i talk about. That transition to, flip his hips he,
was okay, a guy like that you know for safety,

(01:36:25):
to go in the first round unless You're, a guy
like him and awari you've got to be able to
show you you, can Play over the slot. Receiver which
starks does on film but then you watch the drills
and you. SEE he's, Got work to, DO i was i'd,
say overall. I was slightly disappointed all.

Speaker 1 (01:36:42):
Right One of THE safety all mentioned tony Because I.
LIKED him at the senior bowl i haven't. Done My, Filmwork,
ON him yet billy bowman. Yeah i thought tested really well,
now he's got really tiny arms just twenty, eight and
a half inch arms. Which is which is not big
that could be that's gonna be. A red flag for some.
Teams but he's an intinctual player he make plays on the.
And he's not the biggest, guy he's, a little bit

(01:37:02):
shorter but man he moves really.

Speaker 2 (01:37:04):
WELL out there on the, field i was impressed by.

Speaker 3 (01:37:06):
HIM and, you can get away i mean teams have no.
Problems with shorter safeties these days if they can go
sideline to sideline and. Track THE pass in the. AIR and,
i Agree With. You i mean after i'm anawari he
was my number two. Safety as far, as my rioersers
moved very well showed, the ability to. Flip his hips WAS.

Speaker 4 (01:37:23):
Very quick another safety who i THOUGHT. DID.

Speaker 3 (01:37:26):
Very, very Well was r j mickins a clemson four
four nine to forty forty one and a half vertical,
jump ten. Foot one broad positions you're, ills he was,
show good footwork. He was, fluid he was balanced you
know that's the other thing you. Want to see with
these guys you know, when they're moving around the, field
when they're flipping their?

Speaker 4 (01:37:43):
Hips are they?

Speaker 3 (01:37:44):
On their feet is it natural or do they have
to gather themselves. AND get back in the form i
may consider a real good. Job Showing a lot of Balance.

Speaker 1 (01:37:53):
Draft season is presented by Moody's A Proud, partner of
the new york giants uniting the brightest minds that. Turn
today's risks into tomorrow's opportunities. Learned or, At, moodies dot
com all right tony let's jump over to. THE offensive
side of the ball i know a lot of people
like to make a big DEAL About.

Speaker 2 (01:38:06):
The, quarterbacks at the nfl combine.

Speaker 1 (01:38:08):
EH whatever You're Throwing on Air i thought Quinn yours
and jackson dar a, bleth fine didn't show. Off cannons
but they were accurate they got the. Ball where they
need to, go THEY showed enough arm strength and i
think the news kind of out of, there and we
Get You know we talked.

Speaker 2 (01:38:25):
About warden sanders off.

Speaker 4 (01:38:26):
The.

Speaker 1 (01:38:26):
Top they didn't do much Uh People were very impressed
by tyler, shuck and how he presented himself, how he met,
his arm strength stuff like that and that he seems
to be talking To, people knowing here at the giants but.
Just in general at the combine the bell of the
ball for a Lot. Of people coming out.

Speaker 4 (01:38:42):
OF indie oh he should Be I.

Speaker 3 (01:38:44):
MEAN'S he's, almost collecting social security i mean so he's
got much more. EXPERIENCE than many of these guys i,
thought HIS passing workout. WAS okay and i watched him a.
Lot of the PASSES were off, As far as i
was concerned. Yours had the best overall workout. HE showed
a solid deep arm i. THOUGHT he drove his passes

(01:39:04):
downfield i. Thought He did A good job brady, cook
from missouri really surprised. Me especially with his deep passes
was right on the. MONEY with a Lot Of, THEM
i think with RADDY cook. I got more Than i
expected i thought that colin McCord was. Actually the best
deep ball thrower his short and, intermediate stuff, was late
at times was inaccurate but when they throw the deep

(01:39:27):
outs and, the, LONG passes down the field wow i
mean McCord threw A very really pretty ball and i was,
really impressed with, his deep throws, with the accuracy with
the speed with the.

Speaker 4 (01:39:37):
Ability, to drive. THE ball.

Speaker 1 (01:39:38):
Downfield yeah That's interesting, i thought one thing i'll note
and we threw a Lot Of praises way at the
senior bowl when we.

Speaker 2 (01:39:45):
THOUGHT he did a nice Job I think you saw.

Speaker 1 (01:39:47):
The dylan gabriel arm arm strength issues coming up on
a lot of those. Deep outs and stuff like that and,
he had to throw a ball the ball a little
bit too early. On some of the deep ROUTES that
was one thing that i noted, on some of those deep.

Speaker 2 (01:39:58):
Outs or he had. Trouble getting The Ball, THERE accurately
Diddo For.

Speaker 3 (01:40:01):
Seth hennigan i mean seth Hendergan you. Know he's like,
an einstein quarterbacks he's super smart does a great. Job
leading the uh the Offense, but as he showed on
saturday you know he's a good backup in a timing
offense because he cannot.

Speaker 4 (01:40:16):
Get the ball downfield.

Speaker 2 (01:40:18):
Anything else jump out. At you about the Quarterback? Position?

Speaker 4 (01:40:21):
How?

Speaker 2 (01:40:21):
ABOUT your, boy milroe.

Speaker 3 (01:40:23):
Uh disappointed i mean. HE was, all OVER the place
i mean and i take it PERSONALLY because you Know.
How HIGH i was on milroe but i can't see anybody,
taking him in THE first round as much. As i
was hoping for It.

Speaker 1 (01:40:36):
We have one fan on twitter that Has Been tracking
your love, for JALEN milroe throughout this process and i
think it was.

Speaker 2 (01:40:44):
Either last, week, or two weeks they're like oh totally
probably took. Him out, of, the, first round it's about.

Speaker 3 (01:40:49):
Oh well you know you got you got. A MAN up,
AND admit It and i mean i guess milroe is.
GONNA be one of those Misses i, still think he's
got he's definitely definitely's got great turn and gotta give
him credit for COMPETING Because, he went to the c.
Ball he went to the combine. He is a high
character guy somebody's. Gonna fall in love with him he just.

(01:41:09):
Needs a really good quarterback coach probably Should have tried
to stay At Alabama one more Year with michael pennix's
the performer washington Quarterback.

Speaker 4 (01:41:19):
Coach, NOW moving over to alabama.

Speaker 2 (01:41:21):
Yeah i Still think he's.

Speaker 1 (01:41:22):
Gonna be a day two pick some team will roll
yeah down on the traits and the he'll End up,
going to somebody on.

Speaker 2 (01:41:27):
Day two. Maybe even. Around two, who knows we'll see
all right.

Speaker 1 (01:41:29):
Let's sh, up the tight ends tony says they worked
out before. The running backs and. The receivers, we'll go
there first you know so many of the. Top Guys
ag end didn't work ty warren. Two hundred and fifty
six pounds. You see him At The podium he looks.
Like jeremy shacky like size Hair. HE just like looks
like shocky i was impressed at level and that. She weighed,
into two forty eight you know he's, in the sling
with the shoulder and he probably hasn't been able to lift.

(01:41:52):
Or do anything with that shoulder so the fact that,
he was still two forty eight even after probably not
being able to. LIFT for a couple of months i
was pretty impressed by at least. How Much you wait
in it and loveland.

Speaker 4 (01:42:02):
May not work out for. The combine because of that
shoulder THAT. Was the word at The Uh that was
the Word indianapolis warren DIDN'T run for someone.

Speaker 1 (01:42:11):
Said with loveli he might not be Able. TO take
contact to like august A couple of people report that i.

Speaker 4 (01:42:17):
Was told it's an ac joint we'll see.

Speaker 3 (01:42:20):
How it affects his drafts, stock but, if somebody told
me you know later, in the first round you go
the better the. Team YOU you end up with and
I Had him going to the la chargers in one
of my early mocks to be reunited with his old
head coach who need and, That team needs, a tight
end so you know there may. Be a silver lining
to that IT wouldn't surprise me From.

Speaker 4 (01:42:40):
What, I was. Hearing in Indianapolis.

Speaker 1 (01:42:42):
Yeah I AGREE my guy terrence ferguson tony i liked him.
COME out of the senior BALL i LIKED this tape
and uh six o five two forty seven ran a
four to.

Speaker 2 (01:42:51):
Six three one.

Speaker 1 (01:42:52):
TEN yard split, pretty good jumps uh to me he
was one of. The most impressive tight ends there pretty good.

Speaker 4 (01:42:58):
JUMPS thirty nine and is outstanding i mean it was a.

Speaker 2 (01:43:02):
Thirty NINE h thirty four run that. I, must have
Transcribed it.

Speaker 4 (01:43:04):
Wrong okay that's what.

Speaker 3 (01:43:07):
That's what, i'm, LOOKING at HERE you're right uh i
like i want to see him transition that athleticism m
on to the field, because we don't see that.

Speaker 4 (01:43:18):
Speed we.

Speaker 3 (01:43:18):
Don't see that athleticism you know I've been on, him
as a day three pick a guy who's. Your traditional
number two tight end he's shown he's got the, numbers
TO be potential number one and i think he absolutely,
helped himself or is combine?

Speaker 4 (01:43:32):
Workout workout help his draft.

Speaker 2 (01:43:34):
Stock anybodyls at tight. End, That Jumped out at.

Speaker 4 (01:43:36):
You no harrold fannin. Did not jump out at me.

Speaker 1 (01:43:40):
He was SE like he he was, what i expected
HIM to be, You know what i mean pointed but
my point is some people are talking, about him as an.

Speaker 3 (01:43:47):
Early pick a day two pick i've always thought, he's
a fringe Late day two more. Of a day, three
type guy good, football player not a great athlete someone
where fitted from the fact.

Speaker 4 (01:44:01):
That the offense was focused around. Him and took.

Speaker 3 (01:44:03):
Advantage of it good for him did have a decent
three cone six nine seven and a three. Cone that,
THAT'S a nice mark but again i mean a move
tight end, that's got to learn to block.

Speaker 4 (01:44:14):
That doesn't, have a great athleticism.

Speaker 1 (01:44:16):
You know tight end, has become such a size, Weight,
Speed height type of position tony and none of these,
guys Jumped, out LIKE you're right like fannin like i
still think we'll probably sneak into the back END of
the third round if i hit the bet just because
it's not, a great, Class and and, overall but LOOK
i'm with you and then i think the other story
We should talk, about is GUNNER helm tested terribly. And

(01:44:40):
then I Don't love you so the ian rappaport tweet
where he sent out the picture of his ANKLE which
looked like mine when i twisted my ankle.

Speaker 2 (01:44:46):
PLAYING basketball like.

Speaker 1 (01:44:47):
Four years ago i was, in a boot for two
weeks and this guy tried to run a forty and
do all. That stuff on a bad ankle So you
could take those gunner helm testing numbers, and THROW them
into the trash. Because i really don't mean anything and
that's the problem because on tape. HE looks like a
good athlete i was shot when.

Speaker 4 (01:45:00):
His.

Speaker 2 (01:45:00):
NUMBERS are what they.

Speaker 3 (01:45:01):
Were Yeah I thought he was a, terrence ferguson type
and you know a very good college tight end that's
going to be a.

Speaker 4 (01:45:08):
Number two or The. Number three.

Speaker 3 (01:45:10):
JAKE bringing, stool clemson major disappointment i mean here's a
guy that a lot of people thought coming Into the season,
was a potential day two pick could potentially be the
first tight end selected four seven five in the forty
thirty one. Inch vertical, JUMP nine to seven you know
i had heard all season. Long his draft stock was,
dropping this is just you, know another arrow or another sling.

(01:45:33):
Another knife in his draft stock thirty, one and a
half inch. Arms eight and five inch hands it's.

Speaker 4 (01:45:41):
Going to? Kill his draft stock.

Speaker 2 (01:45:42):
All right you?

Speaker 1 (01:45:43):
Ready, To go to, wide receiver, tone let's do, It All.
RIGHT let's do it matthew golden i have not done.
All my filmwork on him yet. I'M looking forward to
doing it a lot of people and based on A couple,
of the reports that I saw even the people from texas,
were full up their tar chair blown away that, he
Ran a fourty yard dash and i'm told.

Speaker 3 (01:46:02):
That was on a, bad ankle, i'm told That he
you know like gunner helm was Dealing with it with
an ankle issue four two nine with a, one four
to nine ten.

Speaker 4 (01:46:12):
Split which was which. Was terrific, and then, he, stopped,
you know.

Speaker 3 (01:46:17):
People say Well yeah, you're gonna stop with fortune nine
but he didn't do anything, else THE position drills or
nothing and i was told. It was because, OF the
ankle and, you know i. THINK he's good a nice
receiver i. DON'T think he's a great receiver i thought
COMING in to The combine because. I did my texas
film work He Was, head and shoulders above isaiah bond
who shot his mouth off before the combine and just

(01:46:40):
did not deliver and drops a lot of PASSES as
he did. During His Uh during position. Drills but matthew,
golden helped, himself we'll see what, you know if he
can finish if He Can. COMPLETE the circle at pro.

Speaker 2 (01:46:52):
DAY a Couple of other guys.

Speaker 1 (01:46:54):
I Thought TONY did really, nice jane higgins uh six,
four two hundred and fourteen pounds ran a four to,
four evan one five three split jumped almost forty inches thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:47:03):
Nine ten to.

Speaker 1 (01:47:04):
Eight broad really nice testing numbers that guy's going to
Be a second round pick, with, with, those with those size.

Speaker 2 (01:47:10):
Weight height speed in his tape he's going to be a,
second round. Pick for some.

Speaker 3 (01:47:13):
Team you know he was ONE of those guys that,
when i saw the test numbers watch him the position drills.
Really didn't impress me. As much he showed some stiffness
the GUY that blew me away that i was really
impressed with during The Entire work It.

Speaker 4 (01:47:29):
Was don kate thornton of.

Speaker 3 (01:47:32):
Tennessee four point three seconds in the forty with a
one to, five to one, ten yard split six foot.
Five caught the ball, incredibly well, looked fluid and natural
you know with the short and, with the short and
deep throws. Great adjustment to. The errant pass he was
in this was in That Second. GROUP of Quarterbacks, with

(01:47:54):
jaln milroe i thought thornton who really didn't, get much
chatter before the, season who had a terrific season looked out,
standing during the during The. Combine, His combine working out.

Speaker 1 (01:48:08):
Saturday yeah i'm looking forward to. Going back and watching
his tape ONE of The bigger guy. That i thought
Tony helped himself The fact that stanford wide receiver elek,
eelmen er six to oh one. Almost six almost six
to two he ran a four to four to four
with a thirty eight and a half. Inch vert ten
to seven broad those are very good athletic numbers for
guy when you watch him on tape that that's not

(01:48:29):
that type of athleticism doesn't. Necessarily, pop when you watch.

Speaker 3 (01:48:32):
Him yeah he looked like a straight line type guy and.
He's NEED to improve his routes, but i would agree
with you and. He cut the ball very well he did.
Very well during the position drills and you want to
talk about. A bigger tight End Who, impressed i really
liked isaac tesler who basically half. Of his neighborhood was on,
hand if you watch the workout they were they were sitting.

(01:48:52):
Behind me in the fan, Sex, YOU were SITTING with
them well i know. I was not sitting with them
i was at our section. Where we, were allowed to
sit you know. They were so nice to us was
basically right, off the field the fan Section. And it
was packed on saturday tesla's family. And neighborhood were right
behind me but he was terrific and they had reason
this year four four three and the forty one five

(01:49:13):
one ten yards split thirty nine and a half inch
for a ten to nine broad jump six' eight five
three cone even though he didn't, Show great route running
skills in position jills caught the ball incredibly well made
in an athletic over the shoulder reception late. In the
day which was eye popping absolutely helped, himself for a

(01:49:37):
guy that's. Sixty four two hundred, And, Fourteen Pounds so.

Speaker 1 (01:49:41):
You're telling me? Tony isaac tesla had an? Electric performance is?

Speaker 4 (01:49:45):
That where, you go, there you go we could we
could we could doze a. Little a few things in.
His performances it's like the route running, but he showed
a good three cone so, you know that the the abilities, There.

Speaker 1 (01:49:58):
POTENTIALS there god three slot guys TONY i want to
point out. That I, thought did a nice, job jalen
lane just under, five ten one hundred ninety one pounds
ran a four to three.

Speaker 2 (01:50:09):
Four one five, to zero uh.

Speaker 1 (01:50:10):
Split forty inch vert eleven inch broad He Did a nice.
Job At, the senior bowl As Well jalen knowle the
teammate of jaden higgins five ten one ninety four four,
three ninety one five to one split jumped, really well
six seven five three.

Speaker 2 (01:50:27):
Cone which is.

Speaker 1 (01:50:28):
A really NICE number He Did well and then i,
though kyle williams out there as well five ten one.

Speaker 2 (01:50:33):
Ninety four four.

Speaker 1 (01:50:35):
One five five split he jumped Well so THOSE are
three slot guys tony that i thought did a. REALLY
nice Job Showing off their speed i.

Speaker 3 (01:50:41):
THOUGHT dominic love it did very well i know the
testing numbers WEREN'T great, four to four in the uh
forty but he was projected to, be a four five to,
five guy four or five eight guy so he. Was
a lot faster than, people thought just. Ran super quick,
routes sharp, route running kay got, quickly got intebrates got

(01:51:02):
out of him. READY to catch the ball on balance.
I THOUGHT he did a terrific job and, i KNOW
his Forty Time was horrendous. But i thought tez johnson rebounded.
Well he had some other good marks. Forty time was
four or five one his three cone time was six.

Speaker 4 (01:51:20):
Sixt' five thirty seven.

Speaker 3 (01:51:22):
Inch vertical jump but he's much faster he's, more quick
than fast as. People say and he showed that quickness
he talked about slot guys and. The ability to separate
during position drills people are gonna. TALK about the four
or five one i say watch the. Position drills because
he showed the ability he's gonna be one of those
guys that. It's, gonna be tough to cover him granted

(01:51:44):
he's onnder one hundred and sixty. Pounds because he's so
quick running routes he.

Speaker 1 (01:51:47):
Also a, one five to three ten yard split so
he got out early, and, that.

Speaker 2 (01:51:51):
Shows his explosiveness and quickness.

Speaker 1 (01:51:53):
Right so he'll get on you quick he just, seems to,
be missing that top end you know.

Speaker 2 (01:51:58):
Sprinter speed.

Speaker 1 (01:51:59):
IN that final twenty Yards, one TIME i was disappointed
by tony but. I Think he's a REALLY good player
ricky white at the unlv. JUST ran a four to
six one i was hoping he. Would get into the
mid four fives he did have a, one five to
five ten yard split which, is WHICH.

Speaker 2 (01:52:13):
Is not a bad time but i wish you.

Speaker 1 (01:52:15):
Would have Been A LITTLE bit better and then jack
bash i thought was pretty good, in the field workouts
catching the.

Speaker 2 (01:52:19):
Ball, though He Didn't do Any Testing.

Speaker 3 (01:52:21):
YEAH and, Josh, kelly of texas tech i mean john
you could probably be.

Speaker 4 (01:52:26):
Him in the forty four to seven but, when you
watch him on. The film he's. A real good receiver
he plays fast He Was, the Go To.

Speaker 3 (01:52:32):
Guy first washington state then texas tech so you know in,
those later in the very late rounds you're Gonna Have,
to roll the dice on josh kelly who's a good. Football.
Player but not a great athlete.

Speaker 1 (01:52:43):
Tony they was somebody really scary chasing. Me to get
the four to, seven, and maybe, that twenty. Years ago
maybe but no. Not happening you were at the, Kathlete?
What was your best forty?

Speaker 2 (01:52:54):
Time? Tony did you ever run it no.

Speaker 4 (01:52:56):
It was it was one hundred meters it was one
hundred meters time out of a in the mid elevens
eleven eleven five is and that was out of a starting,
block now with. Two, hands coming out not one.

Speaker 2 (01:53:10):
HAND see we're getting into, Technicals here.

Speaker 1 (01:53:13):
I like it all right I'M happy well you want
to do, O, Line, next to running backs next tony
no let's Go.

Speaker 4 (01:53:19):
Running, backs BECAUSE they were on saturday.

Speaker 2 (01:53:20):
Yeah and, i thought, THEY were.

Speaker 1 (01:53:21):
Phenomenal uh yeah you know i, Agree, this was probably
solidified to me tony this is probably, the best group
that in the. Draft except, FOR maybe the defensive, line
and boy i have five guys but we could talk about.
Twelve of them If We, wanted TO let's start with
marion hampton but i think he's probably going to Be The,
second running back pick after ashton, genty who did not
test out there came in at basically six, foot two

(01:53:45):
hundred and twenty one pounds ran a four to, four
to six one five to four jumped out of the
building thirty eight inch vert ten, ten broad a four
to four, shuttle checked every box you would want and
there's a real good chance he gets into.

Speaker 2 (01:53:56):
THE back end of, the first, ROUND a couple.

Speaker 3 (01:53:58):
Of things you know i report on saturday That There
are some teams that have omarion hampton as. The, number
went back in the draft Now There were some teams
That Had. ZACH wilson rated, ahead OF trevor lawrence i
mentioned that and i still, think genty is the number
one back but. THAT'S an opinion to, keep out, there
i want to see you know he didn't run the

(01:54:19):
three code time the four, to four to twenty yard
shuttle is but.

Speaker 4 (01:54:24):
That's indicative of him.

Speaker 3 (01:54:25):
Because he's, great in, a straight, line he's fast he's
explosive he's, powerful but, that side to side lateral you.
KNOW he's, not a perimeter ball carrier i think as
we saw with, the show with the twenty.

Speaker 4 (01:54:37):
Yard show didn't run the.

Speaker 3 (01:54:38):
THREE cone, he is what he is i mean he,
is a talented athletic between the tackles. Ball, carrier who
also catches the ball well if, you're looking, for that
type of back, you know late in the, first round
early in The Second.

Speaker 4 (01:54:51):
ROUND you're gonna look at Omarion Hampton I was.

Speaker 1 (01:54:54):
Really impressed by quinn shawn jenkins' workout tony. CAME into
five to eleven two twenty i didn't think he.

Speaker 2 (01:55:01):
WAS gonna break.

Speaker 1 (01:55:01):
A four or five i really didn't, he came, into
four four, eight one five, one ten yards, split thirty
inch ver thirty eight.

Speaker 2 (01:55:08):
Inchvert part of me eleven foot broad HE was a
much better athlete.

Speaker 1 (01:55:13):
Than i thought he was, gonna, BE after watching HIM
on tape man i Think He i. WOULD pick him
over travion Henderson myself. I know you're a big henderson
guy so we can have that debate, for the next.
Month AND a half Which Is great but i thought quin.
Sewn jenkins had a really nice day.

Speaker 3 (01:55:27):
Didn't really transition that athleticism into, positions bill showed a
little bit stiffness was not as good. MOVING sideline to sideline.
SOME of Them I agree with you i think quinshawn
jenkins is Going To. COME off the board before trevion
henderson i think he's probably a guy who's. PROBABLY gonna,
go middle Of Round two i mean if the dallas

(01:55:48):
cowboys don't take, a running back in, THE first round
they want a Receiver i could absolutely. SEE them taking
judkins In Round two i just think that trevion henderson
is probably gonna be a more productive pro because he
does so many things. Better because he's a little bit
faster You saw me he was faster than junkins in,
the in the. FORTY h but yeah He Was terrific

(01:56:10):
i thought that by sean touttin obviously. With that four
three two forty uh and he plays that speed one
four nine in the with his ten split forty and
a half, inch vertical jump ten ten broad. Jump and
that was on an ankle. That was that's about ninety
five percent he struggled. All last year with an ankle

(01:56:31):
injury he was about the Ankle is about ninety percent
at the senior ball. And the ankle still isn't fully
healthy so it'll be Interesting To. See WHAT he does At,
pro day but i thought his uh he caught, the
ball extremely well in, position DRILLS made some Nice deep
receptions and I think now. TOUTON'S a Guy like junkins

(01:56:51):
helped himself i think touton is a. Guy in a
stacked running back class. Could get consideration late in day,
two but there's so many running. Backs, SOMEBODY'S gonna have
to fall out.

Speaker 2 (01:57:02):
Yeah, I.

Speaker 1 (01:57:03):
Thought he was, really impressive, too Toty I'm. WITH you
MY guy or jay harvey i thought i HAD a
good day five eight two o five, four four forty
one five seven split.

Speaker 2 (01:57:11):
JUMPED really well four three. Four, shuttle i, thought he
looked good uh and again any other.

Speaker 1 (01:57:16):
RUNNING backs jumped out this one GUY i want to
bring up That, i have a couple questions about tony
but anyone, else had that really pumped for you that
you were, Very, IMPRESSED by Based On your expectations heady i.

Speaker 3 (01:57:24):
THOUGHT trevor atn did a solid. Job i thought he
was you know the testing marks were decent four four
two in the forty with a one to five to, one, ten,
yards quick in the drills though man he was bad
thirty five and a half inch for ten ten four.
IN the broad outstanding in, the drills, i mean just
great footwork great. BALANCE past catching ability was top.

Speaker 4 (01:57:45):
Notch.

Speaker 3 (01:57:46):
I thought He Did really well uh i thought dylan
sampson was another. Guy in the drills who did well
didn't run the forty thirty five inchvert ten ten. TO four,
broad jump super quick foot i mean this was a guy,
who looks when you watch, The film he, looks basically
straight lineish but you know during the position drills, showed
excellent footwork getting over the bags, a lot of terrific

(01:58:08):
past catching Ability. Which HE really Never did at tennessee
so i thought sampson during the. Drills specifically Really stood
out For Me.

Speaker 1 (01:58:16):
And then, i'll just know caleb johnson. Out there tell,
me a little disappointed six to. One two hundred and
twenty four pounds people told me he was. Going to
run in the four, fours, he, runs in the four
four five seven one six two ten yards split looked,
like a lot of build up. SPEED just did not look,
Very EXPLOSIVE.

Speaker 4 (01:58:34):
I, Completely agree with you and i MEAN johnson's a.

Speaker 3 (01:58:36):
GUY who on, film i, ABSOLUTELY loved i thought that
you know I Had chance to basically battle o marion hampton.
For THAT second running back, SPOT boy was i wrong because.
Yeah i mean it was not good, and when, you,
watch him on film he said guy, he's got to
burst through the hole can beat defenders into the. Open
field and then run, the daylight good short area quickness

(01:58:59):
too with, the ability, to make make defenders. Miss you,
know and you go back you're like it's a Partotypical
running back that Comes, out of iowa that's great on
saturday but may Not. Have the skills to play on
sunday granted we have to wait and see that dialogue has,
to BE played out completely. BUT fully, but i agree
with you. I mean just very disappointing to.

Speaker 2 (01:59:21):
Me i Don't Think. We mentioned it during the wide
receivers ted, McMillan did not do anything.

Speaker 3 (01:59:25):
He did but he Did have a great cycle logical
TO somebody told me one of the hq test or something.

Speaker 4 (01:59:30):
Was, JUST off the charts. With him yeah i.

Speaker 1 (01:59:32):
Heard that too, he also measured it it's six four two,
hundred nineteen.

Speaker 2 (01:59:35):
Pounds And He's a big big.

Speaker 1 (01:59:37):
Kid and travis hunter obviously a cornerback we didn't mention
that in wide receiver. He was listened as a dB
uh he. Said he didn't HE didn't request that that's
just what. Nfl TEAMS wanted him to be at. But
i think his measurements were good tony's six. Ft one
hundred and eighty eight pounds there was some worries he might,
be like five ten one seventy.

Speaker 2 (01:59:52):
Five and he weighed in very well but NOW.

Speaker 3 (01:59:55):
Let's see, what it is at proda YOU? Know how
heavy is he at Prota what does he, run at
prote if a he.

Speaker 1 (02:00:00):
Runs and maybe he'm not going, to measure again a.
Pro day, Too maybe he'll just run who. Knows we'll,
have to, Wait, And see all right offensive line tony
let's start, with the, measurements because there was one you
know big spotlight and we had TALKED a lot about
this heading in i talked to people about this during,
The Week and everyone swore to me will campbell is gonna? Come,
in with thirty three inch arms yeah he, did not
thirty two and five eighths which is that's a tough

(02:00:24):
Number To Play. Offensive tackle in the national football league
what are you hearing from teams based off that measurement, really.

Speaker 3 (02:00:31):
Next, to nothing because they did you know nothing as
of yet because of the fact that, they measure right
Before they. Work out so They, measured sunday, morning they
worked out. Sunday you know, through the early afternoon then
everybody left so there was really wasn't much time to
talk to.

Speaker 4 (02:00:47):
Anybody, yet about some.

Speaker 2 (02:00:49):
Of the airport tony what were you? Doing waiting, for,
the plane to. LEAVE come ON man.

Speaker 3 (02:00:52):
There you go i was i was actually RUSHING to
get my flight back because.

Speaker 4 (02:00:55):
I wanted to, GET the, heck home, but you're right
i mean you know it's going To Be it could
be a situation will campbell where, this is not, going
to Help Him where a team maybe the chicago bears
takes him uh and puts, him at left tackle until you,
know he proves that, he you know can't play the.

Speaker 3 (02:01:13):
Position and maybe they kick him inside but it's gonna,
be it's gonna be a large discussion. A hotly debated
discussion in war rooms there will, be some teams that
have these measurables, and if you don't, make the measurables
you're not you know you're. You're off the board at
that position so there will be some teams at thirty
two and five eighths. In charms that, MOVE him to guard.

(02:01:34):
And you know, i had not heard we had people
we had guests. ON this, Program who talked about IT
i said. I'll believe, it when i see it you
know that said he ran. He, WAS he, had a,
terrific day yeah i mean, you know his testing, numbers
were good, thirty two in, one seven six.

Speaker 4 (02:01:53):
Ten.

Speaker 3 (02:01:54):
Ten yard split nine to. Five broad the position drills,
were terrific if you. Watch the workout he went down
early he slid down and it looked like he may
have hurt his knee, The way the way he went
down but he got back up and he finished the.
Entire WORKOUT and he did relatively well so i mean
the athleticism is there are teams going to penalize him

(02:02:18):
because his arms are a half inch. Shorter than what, they, desire,
To tackle some teams will.

Speaker 1 (02:02:25):
Yeah absolutely look. It doesn't show up on tape either
it's not like. Guys a long arm them all day
so that that's the. Decision teams, are gonna have to
make all right Who else in the? OFFENSIVE line group
Tony really impressed.

Speaker 3 (02:02:37):
YOU i thought armand membo was outstanding i mean four
nine to one forty at three hundred and thirty two
pounds thirty, four inch vertical jump nine foot seven. Nine
to seven in the broad jump.

Speaker 1 (02:02:49):
How about his arms coming in a good half Inch Shorter.
THAN they did at the senior bowl i was surprised by.

Speaker 3 (02:02:54):
That displayed great feet, and movement skills when they did
that when, they do that long own pulling drill the
deep pulling drill where they turned to the right or turned.
TO the, left and get out front i mean the
guy looked, literally like a three hundred pounds sprinter. THAT'S how,
Fluid and smooth. He was, i agree i've thought that
you know we knew he was a. FIRST round pick

(02:03:16):
coming into the combine i think he's probably moved himself.

Speaker 4 (02:03:19):
Into the middle part of round, One who.

Speaker 1 (02:03:22):
Else jumped out of? You tony at the tackle position
specifically or is that? Where, the, line gets DRAWN for
you Well.

Speaker 3 (02:03:28):
Yeah, You, know i thought, that jaylen travis travis The
Big guy the big tackle from Iowa, state five four,
in the forty okay it's not great but still for
a god that size, thirty five inches in the vertical
jump nine foot four in the broad jump, of three
hundred and, thirty nine pounds moved around relatively well is

(02:03:49):
going TO. Be a right tackle in the, nfl but
a very athletic. And strong and he's a. NASTY guy
He Looks. TO finish blocks i think josh connelly i think,
maybe NOW he was online like guardboard maybe i can
move them over to tackle five oh five and the
forty with a one to seven ten yards split, thirty
four and a half inch, vert displayed terrific footwork during.

(02:04:11):
Positions drills, easily moved. Around the field You Know six'
four we talk about will campbell. With the thirty two
and five h, arms our teams comfortable with a you
know with. A uh a tackle that's six foot. FOUR
he's showing the ability to do. It i may be wrong.

Speaker 4 (02:04:29):
On This, One Showed a lot of athleticism on sunday
joda savanea.

Speaker 2 (02:04:32):
Had a really nice day and not surprising he Looked
Like a.

Speaker 1 (02:04:35):
Really good athlete at the senior bowl too he just
needs to work on the technique to utilize that athleticism
as a blocker six four three twenty four just, under
thirty four inch arms four Eight five, one seven two
four nine five i'm sorry One seven to two in
the forty uh his vert and broad jumps weren't great
under thirty inches on. The vert under nine, feet ON
the broad but he moved well and i think kind,

(02:04:57):
of as a as.

Speaker 2 (02:04:58):
A moving pulling guard he COULD. He, could certainly make
it in the nfl.

Speaker 4 (02:05:01):
YEAH or, maybe even maybe even a tackle i, MEAN
for a guy that's that that big.

Speaker 3 (02:05:06):
I thought those numbers were. Pretty darn good i did
watch the. Fundamentals every time he, took a good, repetition
his knees were bent excellent pad level kept that, PAED level,
Throughout The, THROUGHOUT the position drills i thought tyler booker
i think he's the, guy that when you look at
his numbers you're five three eight and, the forty twenty
seven inch. In the vertical seventy ten in the broad but,

(02:05:30):
then you watch the position drills and wow, quick fee blah,
blah blah blah, blah bah always on, balance bending his
Knees Showed violent hand punch basically not the cincinnati bengal
coach who was holding.

Speaker 4 (02:05:42):
The BLOCKING bag back.

Speaker 3 (02:05:43):
Off Of, His feet and i think that tyler booker you're,
not gonna be impressed with the testing numbers but if you,
WATCH the film and then the position drills i mean
it Was next level.

Speaker 1 (02:05:57):
And one guy, didn't mention tony because he didn't work
out so we didn't any times. On, him except for
the forty yard.

Speaker 2 (02:06:01):
Dash actually you.

Speaker 1 (02:06:03):
DON'T have Anything He, EVEN did the forty i Thought
tyler williams i thought from my house state looked really good,
in the position drills on. The defensive line EVEN though
he didn't test just the NAME i wanted to throw
out there as I looking at my notes and realized
if i got, to, bring him up with the.

Speaker 3 (02:06:15):
DEFENSIVE line yeah except For The running backs a lot
of the ohio STATE guys who we knew that going in.
I didn't Run Staying with The Offensive line i thought
josh gray of oregon state did well five three in
the forty with. A ten yards split, of one seven
three look good in drills and, this is a guy
who's played, tackle hard and if.

Speaker 4 (02:06:33):
You. Remember The trinball He, was taking snaps obviously jared
wilson of georgia who a lot of people believe, Will
be the first center off the.

Speaker 3 (02:06:42):
Board i'm not a huge fan of him on film
four to eight to four in the forty with a
ten yard split. Of one seven to thirty two inch
arms i'm sorry thirty two, inch vertical jump and look.
Looked very mobile who looked, athletic during, drills.

Speaker 4 (02:06:57):
His tape just.

Speaker 3 (02:06:58):
Doesn't Really you know do it for him maybe i'll
Have to go Back And Look at that gray's, Able
of north dakota STATE thirty didn't run it's gonna run
during prod eight thirty six, and a half inches in
the vertical jump nine to, three in the broad good
change in direction has a thick build And, as a
reported at the from the combine There's a lot of
people that believe that disabel could could. Slide into the

(02:07:21):
late part of round one, So, That's. Something to keep
an eye on hi.

Speaker 1 (02:07:25):
Tony final thoughts before we say goodbye here now we
are around seven WEEKS Away OR eight.

Speaker 2 (02:07:33):
Weeks away from the Nfl draft.

Speaker 3 (02:07:36):
PRODA start We're TAKING this on, March third i believe
indiana's proda. IS tomorrow, So it's just like never ending i,
mean combine was, a little bit more laborious if. YOU
will then it HAS been years past i. Hope, THAT
the nfl can tighten that up granted i know they want,
to make it a show for the fans but it's

(02:07:57):
supposed to be first and foremost a scouting event and
a massive job Interview for. THESE guys who want to
play sunday football i really hope that they would recognize
It and basically run every workout the way. Sunday's workout
was run, by the offensive, lineman because it was crisp,
it was compact it was to the point And we.
Got a lot out of that sunday workout the, Other.

Speaker 4 (02:08:20):
Days we're. A little bit helter skelter.

Speaker 2 (02:08:23):
Tony good stuff we'll be back with you next week
for Another.

Speaker 1 (02:08:25):
Draft season and brought to you by moody's we'll try
to figure out what we're doing next week because it's
free agency WEEKS. On a lot of people, In the
nfl will we focused on that so we'll. Do, something
kind of heavy on the draft well maybe, we'll do something,
like sleepers and positions risers something like that something that
kind of gets into the meat of this draft class
in terms of guys, You.

Speaker 2 (02:08:43):
Just keep an eye on moving.

Speaker 1 (02:08:45):
Forward tony we'll talk to you next week anything on
sports key to coming up this week that fans you
keep an eye on a lot.

Speaker 3 (02:08:50):
Of insider news and notes from the combine still. A
lot of good stuff from, the past we'll have some
throughout the week and by the end of, the week
we'll have an updated mock, draft so keep, an eye
out of.

Speaker 2 (02:09:02):
That check it out and. We'll see you on draft
season next week
