Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's time to get inside the Giants. Let's go, Let's go,
let's go. Giants it out on.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
My Giants Bubbling, give me some Jump, part of the
Giants podcast Network.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Let's Roll.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Welcome to another edition of the Johns Tottle Podcast, brought
to you by Citizens, the official.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Bank of the Giants. I am John Schmelke, joined.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
By the one and only Brian Baldinger for another Baldy
breakdown edition of the Giants Tottle Podcast from the Hackensack
of Marine Hill podcast video Keep getting better, Baldy, what's
going on, bro?

Speaker 1 (00:27):
How are you?

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Well? I'm Mike everybody else you know, we're kind of
just still unwinding a little bit from the draft, John,
just trying to review, you know, what has taken place
as we kind of look ahead to the spring and
OTA's and mini camps and that kind of thing.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
So you shot you the video from the pool the
other day. You got the stuns out, guns out. You
are rocking and rolling in the spring, dude.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Yeah, Well, it's that time of the year, man. You
gotta we put a lot into the draft, so you
got to take a little time off here and sort
of recharge, recover, all.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Right, So give me your overall view of the Giants
draft class.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
How do you think they did? Overall?

Speaker 2 (00:59):
I think they did well. I liked a lot of
the players, you know, they I saw a bunch of
them at the Senior Bowl. You know, you see Darius
Alexander's Senior Bowl. You know, he's a kid that comes
out of Toledo and you think, okay, Mid America Conference,
but when you watch them compete with all those SEC
defensive linemen, we knew it was a very talented defensive

(01:19):
line draft. He fit right in. And then you know,
one of my favorite players in this whole draft, Waskataboo.
You know, I mean, I think he's gonna be a
giant favorite right away, just a style of running and
really just how how talented a runner he is. And
they got aggressive, John, they got aggressive. They wanted the quarterback.
But you can't pass up by Duke Carter when he's
sitting there and you know he's right in your lap,

(01:41):
you gotta take him. We could talk a lot about him,
but you know, they got aggressive and got the quarterback.
And so, uh, you know, I think overall, I thought
it was it was a strong draft. And you look
Marcus Bembo. The one thing I like about drafting Embo
and what they've done this offseason, John is for the
first time that I can remember a long time, they

(02:01):
actually have depth on the offense line. They have depth
from guys they signed in the offseason, guys that are
returning from a year ago, guys they just drafted, guys
in free agency. I feel like, if something happens to anybody,
we're we're not taking somebody off the street. You're not
playing somebody that's never played that position before. I feel
like they got real depth to work with.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
I'm with you, all right, So let's start at the top.
And it's funny, Baldy.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
You talked about the guys you saw at the Senior
Bowl that got you excited up close.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Same with me. We were both there. We were watching
right on the field next to each other.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
One guy that didn't get to do anything in the
predraft process was Abdul Carter because of the shoulder injury
and then the foot injury.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
But man, you know, he's.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Almost becoming afterthought the Giant fans because they're so excited about,
you know, drafting a potential franchise quarterback, which I understand
and we'll get to Jackson Dart a second.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
But I feel like.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
People are losing the plot a little bit and not
talking about Abdul Carter Can constantly, because my gosh, this
guy's tape it's so good. I mean, just the the
array of pass rush move and the athletic ability for
a guy that's only been doing it for one year
is just off the charts.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Well, it's interesting, John. I went to his pro day
on March twenty eighth. I went out to Stay College
and I kind of knew he wasn't gonna work out.
That's fine, but I've never met him before. Drew Rosenhaus
is an agent, so we end up getting meet talking
to him. But in advance of that, you know, I
knew I was gonna talk to coach Franklin, James Franklin
out there, so I told James, and I'll tell you this, John,

(03:27):
when I started watching his hotage going back to his
rookie year, freshman year coming out of Philadelphia High School
in Philadelphia, like the highlight, it never ends. They just
like it's over two hundred plays, John, and it's every
you talked about the past rush moves. But when he
came there, he wanted to be an off the ball
inside linebacker, and James Fotdham he goes, we really want

(03:49):
you on the edge. Were really gonna be a better
player of the edge, but they placated him, and he
played off the ball inside linebacker. And there's just so
many plays in pass coverage blitzing, chasing eyes down. But
then when he came off the edge last year, you
saw just these instincts to beat guys. His ability to
beat guys at the point in the run game uses quickness.

(04:11):
I diagnosed plays very very quickly, and so you know,
James told me his whole history of in ball, you know,
linebacker to edge, all that stuff. But he is his
ability just to win at the wherever it is off
the ball, at the point of attack, chasing things down.
Good luck trying to cut him off on the backside,

(04:34):
you know. So I just think he's got tremendous versatility
and at the end of the day, he's gonna fill up.
He's gonna fill up the statue. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
One thing I talked to Joe Shane about. You know,
he only has been on the edge for one year.
I really think seeing him off ball baldi for two
years on tape actually helps the evaluation, right, because.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
You see his instincts.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
You see how he can play in space, and it's
not just all right, go after the quarterback. This guy
can see the game and react to what's going on
in front of him.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
No, there's no doubt I think his vision for the
game and diagnosing plays before they actually happen. Whether it's
because he understands the formation, he knows the play, or
he just has this ability to go, Okay, the ball's
coming here, let me go get myself a position. It's
really kind of hard to describe without showing video of it,

(05:22):
because he does defeat plays before they begin, and only
guys that have been the league and have seen it
really understanding. You don't see the guys you see that.
Guys develop into that after they get to the NFL.
Max Crosby has that. There's guys certainly they defeat the play.
He seems to have developed that early on here at

(05:43):
Penn State. And maybe to your point, John, maybe a
lot of it was playing off the ball inside linebacker.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
And then let's get to him on the edge here, Baldy.
And this is the point that I've been bringing up
to people. This kid's only been doing it for one
year as an edge player, and he was already the
best edge player, edge rusher at least pass rusher in
college football last year. And I was going through my
notes on him and it's I'm checking off, like all right,
ghost move, speed, the power, long arm, swipe, double swipe,

(06:12):
you know, dip and rip like he is every move
inside spin, every move you would want in his repertoire.
And he's been doing this for one year. I mean,
what's the I mean, he can still get better.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
I mean it's scary.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
I would I want to see him go up against
Andrew Thomas in practice. We'll see those matchups because it's
gonna it's gonna sharpen. Andrew is gonna make it and
it's gonna sharpen out do what what you're describing as
this array of moves that most guys, I'm nobody else
in this draft had his array of moves. Nobody, I
mean you could talk about all the guys that come
off the edge, nobody had his array. But what is

(06:44):
even more impressive is his counter move. Like if you
take this away, his feet don't stop. Okay, so you
defeated the you know the ghost and you were able
to stay in front of him. Well, they's gonna come
back and and uh, you know swim like he's he's
got there's a flow to his sets and so that's

(07:05):
kind of hard to develop. That usually takes time, but
it seems like he's pretty advanced to that right now.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
And then the other thing, I like too Bowdie and
and you said you just has to talk to him.
He has like this intensity to him when you talk
to him, like he's a nice kid, but like he
always he has an edge about him, which I think
you kind of want from a defensive lineman like that
dude is going to bring it on the field every
Sunday and he has a nasty streak.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
And I like that.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
No, No, he plays defense the right way. He's got
some violence to his game. Like even like I'll tell you, like,
I don't know how much this means John, but like
you know, I told him he wanted to talk to
him interview me, and he goes, I'll do whatever you want, Baldi,
but I want to make sure all my guys are
done working out, Like I want to support him. He's
got to stop watch he's time in his linebackers he's

(07:52):
time at his defensive backs, like he's in every drill.
He's there chearing his guys on. And I don't think
he was doing it for show. I think that's who
he is, Like he understands that defense is about a
collective effort and he was supporting his guys here. That
was pretty impressive just to watch and see him do
that all right.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
Now, the fun thing for me, Baldy is figuring out
how to use all three of these guys. Now, I
think fans overrate this your third edge rusher, just from
the fact that Burns in Thibodeaux are just playing seventy
five percent of the snaps. He's gonna be on the
field half the time. Just somemer for those guys. But
when they're on the field at the same time in
passer our situations, how do you think the best way
is to use these guys? Is it using Carter as
like that joker rusher or he's standing up over a guard.

(08:35):
How do you think you utilize Burns, Thibodeau and Abdul
Carter all at the same time on passing dens Well.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
We saw even on the video I sent you John,
you know he was used as a spy in certain games,
that's true. And you know, if you think about the
games that you have against Jalen Hurts and Jayden Tip.
You know, Jayden Daniels right now in this division, like
it's not a bad thing to have a guy and
you can only use a guy that as a spy

(09:02):
that's as fast or faster than the quarterbacks you're chasing.
And it looks like he's got that level of speed
where if Jalen Hurts takes off like he's prone to do,
and we watch him, you know, in this Conference tour
for six years in a row. Now in this division,
and now what we saw Jayden Daniels do, like it
might inhibit some of those guys from leaving a pocket.
So you can always be that add on rusher from

(09:24):
that role. So that's one role. But you know, all
these guys want to run twist stunts, so there's a
you know, you can overload one side, twist back to
the other side. You get to pass rush situations. I
think just the way you know, the NASCAR package was
popular back in the day with spags and some of
the guys that we've seen win championships. I think there's

(09:46):
packages depending on down distance, who you're playing, who the
quarterback is, what they like to do, where there's some
vial versatility to how you deploy these guys on the field,
especially in past rush downs.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Makes sense of your money with Citizens Official Bank of

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Now I'm with you.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
I think it'll be fun. All right, we'll get to
Dart in a second, but we're talking about the defensive front.
So let's roll on Darius Alexander here Baldy and I
could not believe he was available at the top of
the third round. I thought he was an easy top
fifty player in this draft class. And just this combination
of burst size and length is just not something you
often get out of a three technique that's going to
be there at you know, pick sixty five.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
He caught my eye right away at the Senior Bowl
with his just his length, because he's six', four he's you,
know he's three zero. Five he's a big he's a big,
man and he does have twitch to. Him he does.
Explode you see it in the run game of the pass.
GAME i think right now he's kind of a power,
rusher which is what most defensive tackles in college. Are
he's played up you, know he's played the. Piano he's

(11:08):
played up and down the defensive. Line he's got some
versatility to. Him but his length is. Impressive his. Movement
he ran under a five flat forty that night at
The Senior. Bowl when all those defensive linemen, Ran you're, like,
oh this guy, runs you, know a four to. Nine
this guy runs like they. Were it was an impressive athletic,
group and then it showed itself in a lot of

(11:28):
the drills at The Senior. Bowl SO i thought it
was a deep, class AND i thought he was at
the bottom of the first, round but certainly at the
top of the second. Round first him to be there
at sixty, FIVE i thought was a luxury.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Pick Almost, yeah AND i don't think they had like
it wasn't there were targeting a defensive tackle There. BOWL
i think he was just so high on their board
that they couldn't pass on. Them does the fact that
he's inn turn twenty five this summer bother you at?

Speaker 1 (11:55):
All not.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
REALLY i, mean if you GET i mean everybody once
you know that guy to developed and get to a
second contract at twenty. Five but, nowadays you, know we're
seeing a lot. More we used to see just twenty
one year old kids in the, draft but now with the,
pandemic with you, know everybody transferring and changing, colleges we're
seeing a lot of twenty two to twenty three year old.

(12:18):
Rookies so it's not uncommon anymore to see guys twenty
four to twenty five years. Old it doesn't bother. Me
he's a young. Body he's got a lot of football in.
Him some guys can play ten, years no. Problem some guys.
Burnout you never can predict that when they enter the.
LEAGUE i think he's got a real, good you, know
four years stretching him right now that you can concentrate.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
On, yeah and then he'll hit a second contract at
age twenty. Eight twenty, nine AND i think YOU'LL i
think that you're fine with, that and then that's not
gonna be an.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Issue all.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Right and by the, way you can find all Of
baldie breakdowns videos are gonna be rolling them out slowly,
here but just check Out giants YouTube, Channel giants Dot,
Com giants. App they'll be up. There we get checked
out his breakdowns of The giants rookie. Class all, right
let's go To Jackson dart, Here baldie AND i think
you know this is Where giant fans get really excited
because they, think oh, man we're trying to find a
quarterback Since eli. Left it didn't work out With, daniel what's?
Next just give me your overall thumbnail On Jackson dart

(13:12):
in terms of what he brings to the field here
for The giants in their trade.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
Up, WELL i like a guy who's played a lot of.
Games you, know so he started forty one games AT,
usc three AT, usc thirty eight At. MISSISSIPPI i like
guy who's played a lot of, football and he's played
at he's had good. Coaches you, know you look At Lincoln,
Riley you're looking At Lane. Kiffy he's played for good
coaches with really good philosophies about how they. Attack he's

(13:34):
played a lot of big. Games Beat georgia this, year
so you watch that without and he shows, armstrength, touch athletic.
ABILITY i mean you watch him not so much this,
year but in twenty twenty three At Ole miss When
Quinn Shawn jenkins was, There, like they ran him a,
lot like the Way Daniel jones ran a. Lot they
ran him On reid, options, scrambled you name. It SO

(13:57):
i think he's got versatility in that you know he's.
Not he can take, off he can extend, plays he's
got a good, arm he's got a good size to.
Him AND i don't know exactly how you can always predict.
THESE i, Mean Joe burrow seemed pretty easy to, predict
but very few guys are very easy to. Predict like

(14:18):
this is A day One Pro, bowl Perennial Pro bowl.
PLAYER i, Mean baltimore couldn't have said that About Lamar
jackson and look at. Him it's just you couldn't.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
Said, that just real. Quick they Drafted Hayden hurst before
they Drafted Lamar.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
Jackson, yes so everybody wants to know who these guys.
Are we're not gonna Know john honestly until he. Plays
it's just the way it. Is we didn't. KNOW i,
mean you, Know Kyle shanahan came out years later and, said,
WELL i kind of Knew Brock purdy was going to
be our, guy but they had just made the move
For Trey lance and waited his, turn and he kind

(14:53):
of but they didn't know until he went out there
and started. Playing and so you might kind of know
even during you, know the mini camps and the and the,
preseason you might kind of. Know but we're not going
to know how he handles THE nfl because it's so
different in. College but he has all the tools that
you're looking, for you, know to make, them you, know

(15:14):
to make him that. Pick BUT i just think when
you trade back into the first, round you make him
the second. Quarterback he's the twenty fifth player taking you.
CAN'T i don't think you could just put him in
bubble wrap and just sit him. LIKE i don't know
what the plan. Is i'm NOT i don't know That
brian And John joe know yet. Exactly but fans want
to see him play, though because there's a lot to

(15:35):
like about him coming out Of Old Miss.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
YEAH i, MEAN i think how he, develops obviously and
how the team performs will be a big driving force
in terms of how quickly he gets on the. Field
AND i Think jackson will guide a lot of. That and,
LOOK i think you hit. It and fans are tired
of hearing me say, this but they say it all the.
Time evaluating quarterbacks from college to the pros is the
hardest thing to do in pretty much all of. Sports
and you, know you watch the offenses in, college And

(15:58):
i'm rich fans to go back watch the three INTERVIEWS
i did with FORMER nfl. Quarterbacks we Did Chase, daniel Dan,
orlovski And Kurt, warner and they talked about even for
a Quarterback baldy to be able to predict watching What
jackson nor did at all miss which is so much
different than what he's going to be asked to do
in the, pros it's almost. Impossible so one of the
things you watch for when you watch a quarterback on

(16:19):
tape in college that are the most predictive for you
in terms of whether or not they're going to succeed
at the pro, level.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
WELL i want to see. HIM i, mean it's very
difficult to even find play action Passes john not.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
From under, center only an occasional.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Play action where they turn their back in a. Shotgun
but it's very very. Rare so you know, what what you,
know do they do they have real play action passes
off the run? Game you know in THE nfl every
run has a play action pass basically off the. Run,
well that doesn't. Happen SO i try to eliminate all
the bubble screens and all the quick games and all

(16:57):
the stuff that's just. Completion and THEN i on the intermediate,
throws the layered throws that you got to make in
THE nfl with big linebackers dropping into the hook curl
and all those zones that you got to throw. Over
but in front of the defensive, backs can you make
some layered? Throws do you have touch on the deep?
Ball does the ball stay in? Bounds does it give
you receiver a chance in a fifty to? Fifty SO

(17:19):
i kind of concentrate on a lot of those, throws
and then when things do break down up, front what
do you do when things break down up? Front do you?
Panic can you? Extend can you? Elude can you keep
your eyes down the field so you know you might
have fifteen hundred throws to, evaluate a fifteen hundred attempt
to passes to, EVALUATE i kind of narrow it down

(17:39):
to about one, hundred AND i try to see as
many things that actually transfer to the pro game AS
i possibly.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
Can you, know you mentioned his arm strength is good.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
Enough it's not a, lead it's Not Josh, allen but
ball Do you talked about touch AND i think what
impressed me the most about dark tape was the accuracy
and touch on those intermediate. Throws there are a lot
of throws where he's getting right over the line back
to a receiver or tight end going to kind of
down the. SEAM i, mean one of the concepts they
are on all the time is that he's reading the corner.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
Right if he, drops he throws it to the.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Flat if he comes up to the flat, receiver he's
throwing the deep over or like the little out on the.
Flat AND i think he showed some good touch getting
it over that cornerback into that second level between the
corner and. Safety SO i think there are a lot
of those throws on. Tape now can he get to
that throw in THE nfl when you have to do
more reading to get?

Speaker 1 (18:27):
There is not as easy as in.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
College BUT i did THINK i thought some of that
touch stuff on the second level was some of the
better stuff THAT i saw on the tape that AND.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
I think he GIVES i think he throws a real
catchable ball. Yep and THEN i think he does throw
with anticipation where the receiver's going to. Be you See
Trey harrison watchin some of these guys that he's been thrown,
to you, know catch and run like on the. Move
so that's an accuracy. Thing the other thing is he does.
Process they know college quarterback does a lot of. It

(18:57):
it's kind of point and shoot. Yep it's just the
way college football, is especially if you're in any kind
of an air raid. System so but you do see
him go through. Progression so rarely does he ever get
to number, three but he does go one, two which
is more than a lot of these guys. Do SO
i do think that there is some of that that

(19:19):
he has. Done how much more can he go where
it's one two check down like he can he get
to that and reset his feet so that it's an
actor throw and he does look like his footworks kind
of marries his.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Progressions and Then, FINALLY i just think his will and
you talk about how what he does under, pressure, RIGHT
i think he's more of a runner than a. Thrower
under pressure now he has you, know guys in his,
face he will unleash the, ball take, it hit'll complete.
It BUT i think once he starts to, MOVE i
think he's more apt to run than.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Throw AND i think he's he's really good at.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
It AND i think WHAT i like ball the unlike
a couple of the other quarterbacks in the, class when pressure,
comes he steps up in the pocket and through the.
Pocket he's not going back and around WHERE i, MEAN
i barely.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Remember and he throws on tape.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
Ball the where he breaks the pocket runs outside the,
pocket and like as he's going out of, bounds he's
trying to complete a. Pass if he's throwing, it he's
stepping up in the pocket and either then taking off
and running and getting, yards or he's throwing it while
he's stepping up in the, pocket WHICH i think for
a quarterback there's a much better chance to have his
success doing that than the running back and out and

(20:27):
trying to complete something while you're sprinted towards the sideline well.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
To your point you see very few frenetic plays, yep
where he's what you're describing is that where he just
plays too wild and too Like caleb was guilty of,
That Zach wilson certainly guilty of that with The, Jets
like he doesn't play that. Style and SO i think
that standpoint when you're trying to extend, plays keep your

(20:52):
eyes down the. Field when AM i? Runner when DO
i be a point? Guard when DO i? Throw like
you just don't see the crazy bins and twirls in the.
POCKET i do feel like he's got a pretty good.
Feel AND i don't, know in talking to guys From
Tom brady or, WHATEVER i don't know that you can
teach pocket awareness that. MUCH i think it's kind of

(21:12):
an instinct at this.

a lot of the TIMES i thought he would get.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Overpowered he maybe us his hands quite well off things like,
That but, man his feet are. Great that's something you
cannot teach when you watch, Him, baldy do you see
him because of those? Feet do you think he can
stay out at? Tackle that's what the giants say they're
going to start. Him do you see him more of
like of a zone ski, guard maybe even as a,
center as a center you can pull and do a
lot of things. With where do you see him? Landing

(22:05):
given how great his feet?

Speaker 2 (22:06):
Are you, know he looked good at right tackle to,
Me and SO i MEAN i probably just leave him
there right, Now BUT i think there was real because
of the way that he moves and because of his,
feet you could keep him. There BUT i also same
thing you just. SAID i think he can play guard for.
Sure it starts with his, feet but, everybody all these

(22:29):
kids need to get stronger and know how to use their.
Length and there's you, know he doesn't have the longest
arms which is, Okay BUT i feel like there's a
real foundation to his ability that can be. Developed, LIKE
i feel like he's a real developmental. Player if he
becomes AN nfl starter this, year next, year it won't surprise.

(22:49):
Me it just. Won't like he he's got the type
of athletic ability that everybody needs upfront because of the perimeter,
game getting to the second, level because the athletes you're
going up. AGAINST i feel like he can compete, athletically you,
know and then you, know he's played a lot of
football there, Produced SO i feel like he's a real.

(23:10):
That like they took him in the fifth, ROUND i
thought he was an earlier pick than. That, HONESTLY i
thought he was at least a fourth round. Pick but
that's just. Whatever he's taking his, Fine BUT i feel
like there's he's a guy that you we're going to
hear about he's going to play football for The giants.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
Before we jump to the next. Guyball he is someone
that loves trench.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
Play what are some of the things in terms of
his hand usage and things like, that his anchor besides
just getting, stronger that you think he needs to work
on to develop into that starting type of.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
Player, WELL i think the first thing is really developing
a consistent set where you're off the, ball like these
guys are getting jumps now on, Defense like you've got
to be consistently off the ball if you're late off
the ball AGAINST. Tj watt or some of these guys
that you have to go against and right, tackle like
you're you're going to be in a you're gonna lose

(24:00):
all of your. Fundamentals you're gonna turn your, shoulders you're
gonna open the gates like it's just gonna be you,
know there's gonna be pressure on your. Quarterback and SO
i think that's the first thing is to be consistent
with your, set and that a lot of that has
to do with working with your. CENTER a lot of
these are silent, counts a lot of the you know
you're on the road, Whatever so really working with your

(24:21):
center to understand when he's. Snapping that's also working with
the right guard if he's tapping your centers in a
silent count. Situation. Whatever it is like getting consistent with
your set and then having a change up set so
that they can't get a beat on, you whether it's
a short set like you have your be consistent with

(24:41):
your set where you're hitting the same mark all the
time to get ready for your contact. Point but then
have your change up, ready whether it's, short whether it's,
up play action pass and you can jump jump your
guy inside out and you can change up with, him
so he can't get a consistent read on. You if
you want to know how to manage two minutes of
crunch time, Football i'm your. Man but if you're wondering

(25:03):
about a long term financial, plan you should talk To.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
Citizens, HEY i can also talk long.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
Care i'd like to learn about An mollia.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Routine, YES i KNEW i could help make sense of
your money With. Citizens all, right let's go To Cam.
Scatable here The giants fourth round. PICK i wanted to
stay in the. Trench is? There first? Man he's so much. Fun.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
Bold we talked about him before the. DRAFT i thought
he was a second round. PLAYER i don't care that
he rans runs a four to six. Five his ability
to break, tackles AND i think his short area of
quickness is actually. Underrated he makes people missing it in short.
Areas his nice job with that he catches the. Football
you know he is An he can do everything except
he's an every down level. BACK i think he's gonna
be a great continent to Cut Tyrone.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
TRUMP i, MEAN i don't know what Else Arizona state
had like it was scatterbou. LIKE i mean literally are
playing in the oversea Of texas in this playoff, game
and he's the best player on the. Field he's the best.
Player he caught one hundred yards of, passes had the big,
runs broke. TACKLES i, mean this Shoulday. Baron it was
all these you know, guys you, know take at the

(26:00):
top of the, draft and there he, is like running
through arm tackles and running guys over and making guys,
miss making good tacklers miss at every, level bouncing it
to the, outside which maybe he doesn't have the speed
to do in this, league but speed is at that
position is a either you can play the position or you.

(26:22):
Can't and so he he his style of running where
he can just run guys. Over he's just difficult to.
Tackle his balance is crazy, good his hands are, great
and he looks like he is just a fiery, competitor
and he knows how to set up. Blocks you, know
he's not too fast as a. Hole he allows things

(26:44):
to develop in front of, him but when he sees,
it he's got great vision when he sees.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
It i'm with, you AND i wonder how they're going
to use him And tracy and Even Devin singletary to
an extent, together BECAUSE i really think since all three
guys are pretty versati, BALDY i think you can just
give him a. Series, right all, right well you have
this series go out, there this series as. YOURS i
don't think this is a dal, well all, right, Well
scatibow will be able to be the short yardage, guy
he'll be the pass, protection the receiver.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
Guy i'm, curious what do you?

Speaker 3 (27:13):
Think how do you think they can best utilize two
pretty dark good talents that ed running back In tracy And.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
Scattabuoy, WELL i, Mean tracy was the surprise last year
of how good he, played considering he was a wide
receiver converted a running, Back LIKE i gotta believe like
he's still developing in that. Position but, everybody unless you're you,
Know saquan one of these you, Know Derek, henry unless
you're one of these, GUYS i, mean everybody's doing it by.
Committee and so then's the question Of, okay who's the,

(27:40):
Healthiest who's who gets a? Feel you can start it
off a rotating, series but who gets, hot because that's
because if somebody gets hot and gets a, feel and
it's not one guy is better than the. Other, john
just as a guy that played with a lot of
different running, backs some guys just have a game day
feel about how to make the mic linebacker, miss how

(28:02):
to set him, up how to run a counter tray
play where you're pulling the backside guard and, tackle and
that play can hit. Anywhere it can hit, outside, inside
it can hit, backside and sometimes the back just has
that feel with. You and so sometimes you can, say,
well he had a great week of, practice all, right,
great maybe that gets him the start that week if

(28:24):
they do it like. That but game day is just a,
feel and you, know some guys get two yards on
that countertrain and some guys get. Nine all, Right you're
probably gonna stay with that countertrait because running plays tend
to be repeated a, lot sometimes because they, work and
sometimes because they should have. Worked and so how you're,
SO i feel like they've got a real back, Here

(28:47):
LIKE i think this guy is going to hit the
ground RUNNING i don't know WHAT i. Mean Devin singletary
has always been a great, contact balanced. Guy it can
always get your four yards and carries a great, receiver great.
Teammate SO i think it's a luxury at this point right.
Now LIKE i feel, like depending on how the guys
are handling things up, front you could play three, backs
you can dress three. Backs And i'm with. YOU i

(29:08):
don't think one guy has the advantage because he's a great,
protector or he's a great, receiver he's a third down.
BACK i don't know that there's a locked in roll
to of these guys.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Yet i'm with.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
You all.

Speaker 3 (29:19):
Right let's jump To Thomas, fadoni AND i Think i'm
the captain of The Thomas vidoni fan club over.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
HERE i watched.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
HIM i think he was one of the last ten
PLAYERS i watched leading up to the, draft AND i
honestly To, Paul i'll be, HONEST i had a fourth
round grade on.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Him he comes from a pro offense In.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
Nebraska he was asked to block despite the fact he
had TWO acl.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Surgeries that dude can. Move he creates.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
SEPARATION i talked to his tight ends, coach who was
a former offensive coordinator with that rule at The, Panthers he's, like,
yeah we run AN nfl. Offense he's gonna be ready
to go when he walks in the. DOOR i was
really impressed with WHAT i saw from. Him even before
The giants picked.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
Him he was the highest rated tight end in a
country come out of high. School, OKAY i mean it's
JUST i mean that's all the guys that he came.
Out and then he was the highest recruited player At
nebraska since two thousand and. Eight AND i Know matt
rule really. Well he covers his tight. ENDS i thought

(30:13):
he was a really good. Blocker and the way that he,
Runs LIKE i, know the injuries are there and that's you,
know taking you, know years away from games away from,
him but he runs really. Well there's just something about
the way that he plays the game.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
And he changes direction by the, way it's not just
winning straight launch. Change and he's thirty four inch. Arms
the dude's, long too.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
Long he's, Long, LIKE i think this could be a
real Fine LIKE i remember When Theo johnsky got. TAKEN
i don't remember the year or what brown he was,
taking BUT i think, fifth, fifth fifth. Round BUT i
just feel Like fordni is a guy that's gonna fit.
In like you, know some of these, guys we pay
attention to what round or what number, Whatever LIKE i

(30:53):
just don't think you should pay attention To let's just
go watch him. Play AND i watched him. BLOCK i
seen some tight ends that should never be at the
point of, attack LIKE i. DON'T i think this guy
is gonna embrace. Guy always tell tight end coaches like
your tight end's got to at least get a stalemate
at the point of. Attack these defensive ends are playing
inside off you and seven, techniques and you gotta at

(31:14):
least get. STALEMATE i feel like this guy is going
to get, stronger AND i feel like there's something there
where he's gonna be more than an adequate blacker plus
a really good receiver and the way that he can
run his. ROUTES i think he's really.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
Talented, Baldy i'm with.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
You we hadn't talked about him AND i then watched
your breakdown of for me, yet but we're completely on
the same.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
Page i'm with, you all.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
Right, Finally corey Black book seventh, round you can find
a corner that's six, foot two hundred pounds and runs
a four to, three you take them and you hope
you can figure it, out, RIGHT i, mean that's what you.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
Do you, know in the seventh, round you know you're
picking down there at the bottom of the. Draft give
me somebody do some, traits you. Know and so he's
got a little bit of ball. Skill he's had some.
Interceptions but you run four to three out, there like
nobody's gonna really run by. You you, know you can
start with. That you keep everything in front of. You
you want to, run go routes with you, know guys
in training. Camp you're gonna see a guy that can

(32:06):
run with, you you. Know so that's that's. Good and
then you, know how quickly does you? Know how wells he?
Tackle how wells he learned to? Scheme you, know what
kind of a you know student is? He how committed it,
is like all those things we'll find. Out but he
played a major college program running for three with good.
Size to, me that's why you draft a guy like.
That all.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
Right final, question now that you kind of see where
the giants are at Here baldy looking at it at the,
roster the guys that have come in and where they're.
At what are some of the key things that you
think need to happen this offseason in terms of, development
guys getting ready to go that you think could make
a big difference for how they perform this.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
Year, WELL i, mean we got a new. Quarterback we
got a new quarterback, now so you, know how quickly
can does he understand the, offense call the, offense get
in tune with you, know everybody on that side of the. Ball,
DEFENSIVELY i feel like a lot of the question marks
they had from a year ago where they had major
holes going into the they have. MAJORS i feel like

(33:01):
everything's been. Filled they should have a very good defensive.
Front you want to start building, defense build your, front
put your resources in your defensive. LINE i feel like
the trenches for this team right now have improved drastically
from a year. Ago now's the question of how quickly
can your quarterback assimilate whether it's you, know whether It's Russell,
jamis you, know whether It's jackson right now at this,

(33:23):
point how quickly can they, assimilate you, know to establish the,
run stay on the field on third, downs get you
know there was where you can stay on the field
and you can stay and get into your game plan
both sides of the, ball get off the field on third,
down extend plays on third down on, offense and become

(33:44):
a more competitive.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
Team, Baldi we're gonna take a little. Break we look
forward to having you up here for your annual training.
Camp visit whenever that happens In july And, august you
always come. Up it was always great seeing. You enjoy
