Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's time to get inside the Giants Hut.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Let's go Giants on the Giants Bubbling, give me some Job,
part of the Giants Podcast Network's.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Welcome to another edition of The Giants Little Podcast, brought
to you by Citizens, the official bank of the New
York Football Giants. Thanks for being with us, everybody. We're
in the Hack and Sack and Marite Health podcast studio.
Keep getting better and the New York Giants draft is
in the books. They drafted seven players they hope they
contribute this year and in the future. Now, we've done
a lot of analysis of these draft picks, but I

(00:31):
wanted to give the folks that just listen on podcasts
a chance to hear some of the draft day interviews
with these players that were done by Madeline Burk and
Sean O'Hara. We start with Abdul Carter. We go all
the way through round seven to the Giants' final draft
pick in Corey Black. So these are the interviews from
the day they were drafted, again from Madelin and Sean.

(00:53):
A lot of good stuff in there. They're fun, you
learn a little bit about the kids, and it's a
good time. So here they are and then of course,
we'll continue our analysis of the draft class moving forward.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
This week.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
We know Ryan Wilson from CBS. We're gonna have Chase
Daniel as well from the Scoop City podcast and from
Fox Sports, so stay tuned for all of that. But
in the meantime, here are our Draft night interviews with
every one of the Giants draft picks, starting with Abdul Quatter,
who Madelein Burke spoke to in Green Bay.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
With the number three overall pick in the twenty twenty
five NFL Draft, the New York Giants have selected Abdul
Carter out of Penn State. Welcome to the New York Giants,
Welcome to the NFL. How does it feel.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
I'm lost words. I'm blessed. I'm proud to be a
New York Giant.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
I know that there was a lot of conversation about
the possibility. I know that you had alluded to the
fact that you thought this might be a possibility tonight.
But now that it's real, what are some of the
conversations that you had leading up to this moment?

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Like this is a fun fact. As a kid, I
had a dream I got drafted to the Giants. So
this is all just surreal for me, just celebrating this
moment with my family.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
How old were you when you had that dream?

Speaker 4 (01:55):
Probably twelve thirteen years old?

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Wow, Okay, that's goosebumps right there. Now it's all come
to fruition. You're coming out of a school at Penn
State linebacker. You a lot of tradition there. You're going
to a an organization in the New York Giants with
a lot of tradition at that position as well. I
saw that when you were at the facility for your visit.
You tweeted out a photo of Lawrence Taylor. What does
it mean to be a part of an organization or

(02:19):
a franchise that has so much tradition.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
Yeah, so I'm definitely coming from Penn State. I understand
the history behind it and LT wanted he's a greatest
football player all the time. I want to follow in
his footsteps and just try to live up to him
and just be dope.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
For me, what about his game is something that you
want to follow in?

Speaker 4 (02:34):
This is ferocity, his intensity in his past for us,
he was just unstoppable.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
What do you want Giants fans to know that you
are bringing to this New York Giants defense.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
What I just said, I'm going to be incredible is
my nickname. I'm bringing everything. I just want to get
to know my teammates first, build that bond, getting the playbook,
get to know my coaches more than just hit the
ground running.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
You mentioned incredible is your nickname? You got it on
your chain right here. Tell us a little bit more
about the outfit, the inspiration behind it tonight.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
Yeah, definitely are to throw Just how much of my religion?
Just praying, praying, being a Muslim, that'stle got me here.
So I just wanted to sort of road that then,
Jesse my incredible chain of my nickname. I'm just I'm
just really blessed to be here.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Jill Carter, thank you so much for the time. Welcome
to the New York Giants. We're excited to see what
you do.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
All right, it's my honor and my privilege to welcome
the newest member of the New York Giants. With the
twenty fifth overall pick in the first round of twenty
twenty five draft, the Giants have selected Jackson Dark. Jackson,
congratulations on becoming a New York Giant. What went through
your head when you first heard those words.

Speaker 5 (03:32):
I mean, this is just unbelievable, you know, coming out
on my visit, having all the meetings with the coaches,
I just felt like we grew such a great connection
during that time. And then you know, when I was
able to be out in New York. You know, I
told them when I before I left, I said, this
is the place that I want to be. So I'm
just really excited for this opportunity and just super grateful

(03:53):
and humble for it.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Well, I know you had a lot of meetings, you
had a lot of FaceTime with Brian Dable, with Joe Shane,
with the entire staff.

Speaker 6 (04:02):
Take me through some of that whole process.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
What was that like sitting in there in meetings with
Brian Dable and kind of talking ball with him.

Speaker 5 (04:10):
Yeah, coach is unbelievable. I mean, he's everybody knows in
the football world, and he's well renowned for his you know,
offensive knowledge. So I think for me, this is just
such a great place to be developed by him and
his track record of developing guys and having them perform
at the highest level. You know, in my mind, there's
there's not a better place for me to be at.
And I'm just so grateful to get the chance to

(04:31):
be able to get coached by him and everyone else.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
What is it about Dables offense that you feel like
fits well with you?

Speaker 5 (04:40):
I just feel like I'm a I'm a scheme versatile player,
you know, who really has athletic traits to do it all.
I can make any throw across the field, and then
you know I can run too, So you know, I'm
really excited to be in his system. And you know
he's he puts his players in the best position to win,
so I you know, I can't ask for anything better
than this.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yeah, that'll be new for Giants fans to have an
Old Miss quarterback that can actually run.

Speaker 6 (05:04):
I know they're looking forward to that.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Take me through some of that stuff you were doing
down there at Ole Miss. You did a lot of
our po action. Obviously, Charlie Weiss junior he kind of
helped you learn some of that, and and you follow
Lane Kiffen from USC.

Speaker 6 (05:18):
How did that offense get you prepared for the NFL?

Speaker 5 (05:22):
Yeah? I think that If you just watch my tape,
you can see from year to year how much we
grew as an offense and how much more we were
able to implement each and every year, and I think
that that really helped me develop and be able to
be ready for this next step. You know, obviously that
there's there's a lot to learn for me, and I'm
just really excited to take it up, to take it
head on. But like I said, I feel like I

(05:42):
was in the best position throughout my college years to
grow from great coaches who really understand ball and you know,
our great quarterback coaches, So they did a great job
of developing me for this, and then I'm just excited
to take this to take this next journey head on.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Some of your teammates have come out and talked about
you and talked about what a great leader you are
and how competitive you are. What makes you a great leader?

Speaker 5 (06:04):
I just think that, you know, for me, it's my
ability to create connections and relationships with everybody in the room,
regardless of the position, group, regardless of where that they
grew up. You know, I'm a relationship person and I
want to know everybody's story. And then at the same time,
you know, I really pride myself on consistency and discipline
each and every day, So I pride myself in holding

(06:25):
the standard of a room, holding the standard for an
offense and for a team. So I feel like, you know,
people look at that and you know, I'm just a
guy that people can rely on to give it everything
that they have anytime they touched the field.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Well, Jackson, you mentioned relationships. I know you've got a
relationship with Eli obviously through the Ole Miss connection. But
you broke his record at Ole Miss. You broke his dad,
Archie's record at ole Miss. Are you worried about that
relationship now?

Speaker 5 (06:51):
No, I'm not at all. You know, I feel like
we're each other's biggest fans. And I was able to
go out there to to Thibodeaux, Louisiana and you know,
attend a Manning passing a camp and for them there
are just such a huge resource for me at Old Miss,
and I think that's going to carry on, you know,
the New York and you know, I'm grateful to have
to have them in my corner.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Well, I know that the Giants are grateful to have
you on the team. I know Giants fans can't wait
to welcome you to the team and just want to
let you know. I know you spend a lot of
time in Shotgun. If you need any extra work under center.
I'm happy to give you a couple snaps.

Speaker 6 (07:26):
All right, I can help out with Yes, let's do
it all right? Sounds good? Jackson, congratulations, thanks for joining us.

Speaker 5 (07:32):
I appreciate you.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
It is with great pleasure that I welcomed the newest
member of the New York Giants, the first pick of
the third round from Toledo, Darius Alexander. Congratulations, Darius, Welcome
to the New York Giants. What was the first day
it went through your mind when you got that phone call?

Speaker 8 (08:20):
Yes, sir, I appreciate it. It was wonderful. My first
excided thing was a smile. I see my mom, she
was crying I almost cried a little bit, not yet though,
but I'm pretty sure I'm will card before, not over with.
But it was just a first of the excitement. I
was happy and I'm excited for sure.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
What was it like this whole process for you and
at what point did you feel like the Giants had
you on their radar?

Speaker 9 (08:42):
The project?

Speaker 4 (08:42):
For me was wonderful.

Speaker 8 (08:44):
I had to visit a couple we should go with
the Giants. I alreadyknew that they had me on their board,
but you know, you never know who gonna pick you
in this In this game, you know some time things,
so wherever they want is wherever they like. And for me,
I was just waiting for my turn. They called and
I was stoked.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Well, Giants fans are stoked to have you, and I
know that the Giants defensive coaches are stoked to have you.
I know they got a really good glimpse of you
down at the Senior Bowl. What was that like for
you to go down there and compete against some of
the best.

Speaker 8 (09:10):
The Serbos's another chance for me to go out there
and compete show the type of skill set I had,
a type of telling how competitive I am out there.
I was happy with my week of performance.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
So you've been described as a penetrating defensive lineman with
super long arms thirty four inch arms.

Speaker 6 (09:24):
How would you describe your play?

Speaker 8 (09:26):
My play, I would say I played with a regus
of bunnets and I'm a game record.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
I like to go out there and calls.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
Have you man?

Speaker 2 (09:31):
It sounds like it's exactly who Shane Bowen, the defensive
coordinator is looking for your defensive line coach Dray Patterson
one of the best coaches in the league. What was
your conversations like with Dre?

Speaker 8 (09:44):
His conversation with me was wonderful. He told me a
few weeks ago, if I get my hands on you're
still on now coming to get you. He can't be
word So I'm excited to when to coach DRAM's gonna
be wonderful.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
So you're gonna be joining a defensive line room. You're
gonna be sitting next to Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns
and now Abdul Carter as well. Do you know any
of those guys and what do you know about them?

Speaker 8 (10:02):
I don't know Addual part of Brian Burrs, but I
know Detrick Orrins a little bit. We're gonna talk on
the flow. Before I know, he's a game record himself.
He go out there, he worked hard, and now he
did to stick to his process. So I can't wait
to get out there and work next to.

Speaker 6 (10:13):
Those guys, no doubt about it.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
I'm sure they can't wait to get you in the
mean room and work with you too. Congratulations thearius from
the Toledo Rockets to the New York Giants.

Speaker 6 (10:21):
Welcome to Big Blue.

Speaker 8 (10:23):
Yes, sir, thank you.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Welcome to the NFL. Cam's gottabo. The Giants and selected
Arizona State running back camscattab the first FBS player since
Christian McCaffrey to have over fifteen hundred rushing yards five
hundred receiving yards in a single season, bringing that juice
to the National Football League. How excited are you to
be a Giant.

Speaker 10 (10:40):
I'm super excited, man.

Speaker 9 (10:42):
I had a great visit with them, and you know,
I'm glad I can be a part of this organization
and be ready to you know, take whatever's on storm
and get going.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
So you had a great visit with the Giants. What
was your initial impression of the organization of coach table
and of the staff here Yeah, you.

Speaker 10 (10:57):
Know, I had a good time there.

Speaker 9 (10:58):
I enjoyed every conversation and I had, you know, and
every coach that I've talked to in that facility was
very positive, very you know, mindful of who I am,
and you know they appreciate the way I play, and
you know I appreciate them the way you know, they're
picking in the draft, so you know they're they're doing
a good job, and you know, I'm excited to be
a part of the team and get ready to work

(11:19):
for them.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
You talk about appreciating the way you play. The physicality
with which you play stands out, especially doing so on
one of the biggest stages. One of your best performances
was at the Peach Bowl against Texas, huge in ASU's comeback.
Now Texas of course ended up getting the win, but
one hundred and forty three yards two touchdowns. What was
the key to you unlocking that kind of comeback next

(11:41):
level ferocity in that game?

Speaker 9 (11:44):
Yeah, I mean I was a little sick at the
beginning of the game, wasn't feeling like myself, but you know,
that team and the team I was on and the
people that I was with, you know, we never had
any doubt every game we played, and as we kept
going and you know, guys are being positive and making
sure that you know, guys weren't allowing.

Speaker 10 (12:02):
Other guys to get down.

Speaker 9 (12:04):
I knew that we had a chance because I knew
my team was gonna fight with each other. And it
was just a great experience to be a part of that.
And I, you know, I enjoyed it. But you know
now it's on another next chapter. So I'm excited.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
You were to your starter at Arizona State after transferring
from Sacramento State. You've talked about what an impact Kenny Dillingham,
a SU's head coach, had on you as a person
and a football player. You said that you know you'd
never forget him. What kind of impact did he have
on developing you into the football player you are today?

Speaker 10 (12:33):
Yeah, he made me just a better person all around.
You know, he made me do the.

Speaker 9 (12:38):
Things right and make sure that you know, I was
on top of my stuff all the time. So just
having him in the building and him as a coach,
and you know, most importantly as a person, you know,
I connected with him as a person. You know, he's
my friend now and I'll always forever be in his corner,
and I know he'll be in mind. So you know
that's someone that you know, I love dearly and I
care for him a lot. So I'm excited for his

(13:00):
future and you know, hopefully he's excited for mine.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
Okaym your future the National Football League. But you have
loved football, it seems your entire life. According to your mother,
when you were six years old, you'd put on your
brother's pads and just run into telephone polls. That feels
like a constant trait that we see on the football
field with you. How would you describe your love of
the game.

Speaker 10 (13:21):
Yeah, I mean I love football.

Speaker 9 (13:23):
I've been doing it since I was born as for
as far as I remember, and you know, my dad
and my brother they pushed me to be the greatest
and the best.

Speaker 10 (13:32):
It's it's been awesome.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
So what do you want Giants fans to know that
you're bringing to this organization?

Speaker 9 (13:39):
Bringing a hard runner, someone else, going to score a
lot of touchdowns, do whatever I can to put us.

Speaker 10 (13:43):
In the right positions to win.

Speaker 9 (13:44):
So I'm excited to be a Giant, and no matter
what these next four or five years plus brings me,
I'm excited.

Speaker 10 (13:52):
I'll be there and.

Speaker 9 (13:53):
I can't wait to win a championship with them.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Cam scatbu, thanks so much for the time. Welcome to
the New York Football Giants and forks up.

Speaker 10 (14:00):
Thank you folks.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
Set.

Speaker 6 (14:01):
If you want to know how to manage two minutes
of crunch time football, I'm your Matt. But if you're
wondering about a long term financial plan, you should talk
to Citizens. Hey, I can also talk long care.

Speaker 10 (14:11):
I'd like to learn about anamiliar team.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Yes, I knew I could help make sense of your
money with Citizens.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Welcome to the NFL. The newest member of the New
York Football Giants Marcus Bow, offensive lineman out of Purdue. Marcus,
congratulations on being drafted. How does it feel to be
a New York Giant?

Speaker 4 (14:27):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 10 (14:28):
It feels great.

Speaker 11 (14:28):
You know, I'm very blessed to be in the position
that I am, and I'm ready to get to work now.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
Being at Purdue. I know that you were teammates with
Tyrone Tracy, who was a rookie last season with the Giants.
Drafted here. How much have you been in contact with
him through this process?

Speaker 4 (14:42):
A good amount.

Speaker 11 (14:43):
I mean it's so great to see him doing the
things that he's doing. I'm extremely proud of him, and
it's just fantastic to be back on the same team
with him.

Speaker 10 (14:50):
And be able to continue the work that we're putting
in together.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
Familiar face has got to make the transition a little
bit easier.

Speaker 10 (14:56):
Right, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Now, I know most of your love you playing basketball
quite a bit, didn't get into football until much later
in life. What was it about football that kind of
pivoted you that direction and how much do you think
it helps your game having that basketball background?

Speaker 11 (15:12):
For me, it was kind of just putting people on
the ground starting to you know, feel the development and
feel the growth. When it came to football in the
offensive line position, you know, just learning it and kind
of being pretty good at it without knowing anything about
it was you know, one of the bigger drives for
me because I felt like there was so much more
out there that I could you know, go get. But otherwise,

(15:34):
I mean basketball helped me a tremendous amount, you know,
with the quick feed and being able to move well
and good body control.

Speaker 10 (15:41):
Yeah, I mean, basketball definitely helped me become a great athlete.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Now on the offensive line, you've got a lot of
positional versatility.

Speaker 11 (15:47):
Right.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
I know you spend a lot of time on the
interior offensive line, but you can play all across the line.
What do you think is your strength in what you
bring to the offensive line?

Speaker 11 (15:56):
I feel like for me just IQ speed technique. I mean,
I feel like I do a great job of mixing
those three things to win blocks and win reps.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
What do you want Giants fans to know? Marcus bo
is going to bring to the Big Apple a lot.

Speaker 11 (16:14):
Wehether it's today, tomorrow, in a week, next year is
going to be something?

Speaker 1 (16:17):
Just wait, all right, we can't wait. Looking forward to
getting started, Marcus. Congratulations, Welcome to the NFL. Thanks so
much for taking the time.

Speaker 10 (16:24):
Thank you so much for having me.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
I'm joined now by the Giants' newest tight end, Thomas Vedoni,
tight end out in Nebraska. Welcome to the NFL. Congratulations,
I'm being drafted. Hows it feel?

Speaker 7 (16:35):
Feels awesome? Lifelong lifelong dream, I mean, coming to fruition.
It's a huge opportunity, and you know, I'm glad I'm
able to be drafted by, you know, the New York Giants.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
So it's awesome. What kind of conversations have you had
with the New York Giants throughout this process, and at
what point did you think this would be a possibility.

Speaker 7 (16:51):
For you did private work out with me and then
we did we had a zoom meeting, So I mean,
I knew there was an established a good relationship, and
then you know, obviously some interest for both parties.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Between you know, them and I, and then.

Speaker 7 (17:04):
You know, going through this tonight, I really didn't know
it was going to be. I wasn't expecting it, honestly
until I got.

Speaker 10 (17:10):
The phone calls.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
So, well, you were at Nebraska, you played underhead coach
Matt Ruhle, former NFL head coach. Having that kind of
relationship with someone who has coached in the National Football League,
how much did it prepare you for this moment in
your career?

Speaker 7 (17:23):
Honestly, I think you've permi me a ton just because
you know the kind of he implemented to the NFL
system and the verbiage and just how you know, the
play calls and just kind of how our scheme was,
and then also just our schedule and the standard that
he set, you know, for me and then for the team,
and just kind of you know, the NFL mentality he
brought to college definitely helped me as a player, and

(17:44):
then obvious and then us as a team, you know,
take it.

Speaker 10 (17:45):
To the next level.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
What kind of player would you describe yourself as? How
do you want giants fans to know you when you
come into the NFL?

Speaker 7 (17:54):
Yeah, you know, I feel like I'm a complete tight end,
you know, on on the field.

Speaker 10 (17:59):
I feel like, you know, I'm you know.

Speaker 7 (18:00):
Extremely hard working, extremely relentless and competitive person. That's how
I am as a player. And you know you're gonna
get you know, someone who has a dog mentality and
wants to win, you know, as a team, as a player,
and was gonna do anything that you know, I have
to do in order to help benefit the team. So
whatever that may be now.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Off the field, I gotta ask. I saw your bio
on social media, A self taught tattoo artist. Tell me
more about this.

Speaker 7 (18:25):
Yeah. So, during like you know, COVID, when you couldn't
do much, I learned how to tattoo, you know, when
everything was closed down. So I kind of learned how
to tattoo and ended up getting into it a little
bit and then developed a kind of as a hobby,
I guess, and got decent at it and made some
money on the side.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Amazing. Have you given your self tattoos your teammates? What's
the vibe?

Speaker 7 (18:49):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, a lot of teammates. I actually
I did tattoo myself, tattooed my knee. I wouldn't recommend,
but uh, they had tattooed my knee and done some done,
some teammates and a bunch of other people.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
Amazing. Well, we're looking forward to seeing your game and
your artwork on display here in New Jersey, New York area.
Tom Spidoni, thanks so much for the time. Welcome to
the New York Giants.

Speaker 7 (19:10):
Astouly, thank you.

That was my first time ever being in New York,

Yeah, I'm excited. I'm not too intimidated. I'm just ready

For What have your conversations been like with coach Table
and the coaching staff about what they see and envision
out of you coming to the.

Giants, you know, coming in as a you know kind
of developing and just you know helping as much as
I can for the team as well as just like
you know, really helping on special teams, you know, as
I get my feet wet for the you know, this
new chapter, new.

How would you describe your game? What would you think
is your biggest strength?

Speaker 12 (20:36):
Yeah, just you know, playing like man coverage, press coverage
as well as off zone as well. But yeah, I
really really been looked at, you know, just like athletic,
you know, being able to use my speed, my you know,
