Speaker 1 (00:02):
The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com
and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Boys.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
This is Girls Talk, Boys Talk, presented by Invisi Line,
trusted by over five hundred NFL players for their winning smiles,
and broadcasting live from Dallas Cowboys World headquarters at the Star.
Now your host, Nicole Hutchison.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
Hey, guys, welcome back to Girls Talk, Boys Talk, presented
by Invisi Line, Aisha Morrison, Brialdridge, Jessavars, and Nicole Hutchinson.
She is live from Oxnard, California, being our eyes on
the prize, boots on the ground. Nicole, Well, ladies, first
of all, I missed you, guys. Like, let's address that
with y'all. Football's in the end, the girls are back.
(00:54):
Football's here, Nicole. You are at practice right now, still
going on. Let's just get right to it. What have
you seen so far today? Man?
Speaker 4 (01:01):
So much? We'll one. I know you want to talk
about the energy because that's been something that Brian Schottenheimer
has stressed all off season. And I mean, y'all can
hear the music in the background, great, everybody is they're
playing with some intentionality, as you know, the word he
used in the press conference today, it's physical. You've seen
(01:22):
a couple of shuffles out here as well. Uh, guys, Like,
I'm excited about the team. I know we say this,
you know we said this last year, but no this year,
I think that they've got something special took in. So yeah,
I know, the energy is great, the vibes are great. Uh,
the players are playing with the be disciplined too. I
love what I'm seeing so far.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
And it's only a sample size, given this is only
the second day of open practice, But what are some
of the differences that you've spotted from last training camp
under McCarthy to now Undershotty Man?
Speaker 4 (01:54):
Hello, can we talk about get into it? Ye singers, No,
Like I mean yesterday you saw there was one rep
where they used Hunter lifkey and put them in motion
and you've got a chance to seat seet Lambs wide open.
So obviously the precent motion is you know, creating some
(02:15):
some Uh they have it for with Matty's de sense
early on. But I mean it's I think it's gonna
be a problem for a lot of people. I mean
shoddy also talking about it earlier, like it just makes
me difficult. I mean, we had seen that last year,
and he said he doesn't want him to stagnant, so
we'll see that really regular. He said, you know, we
picking people around in terms of like who they use
(02:37):
in motion. I know one time they also motioned CD
Lambs and George Chickens and uh, it got connected with
George Chickens on that rep. So yeah, it's gonna be
a lot of fun.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 6 (02:49):
And the motion and the static offense is something we've
been talking about for quite some time. But for me,
it's exciting because we've all set sat in Shotty's pressers
last year year before and heard him speak about some
of his philosophy, some of the things that he, you know,
would implement into this offense. So it's really dope to
see it actually coming to fruition on the field. And
(03:13):
here's another thing about camp that I've heard so far, Nicole,
and I want to see if you can attest to it,
is the fact that the players are playing everything's fast.
Oh and what that tells me is that they have
digested the playbook. I heard that there's some tempo and stuff.
I don't know if you can attest to that, but
I the reports coming out last year yesterday seemed like
(03:35):
these players are playing really fast and they seem keyed
into what their responsibilities are. That lets me know that
the install with Mini camp OTAs all that stuff was positive,
and so I guess I want to know how you
felt about that too.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
No, I can agree with that. That's something that you know,
Fatty talked about. I know, I'll probably say that a lot,
but he's been very detail oriented in his install, so
they really don't have a choice but to know what
the I'm out here, you know, and so yeah, no,
you guy flying to the ball, reading the assignmon fast.
He also talked about the fact that like he wants
(04:10):
guys constantly running, and that's something that they're doing as well.
Clearly the condition is still early, you know, because the
conditioning isn't you know, up to par, but you're seeing
guys running at full seed defense and offense. I just
thank you Harol Well.
Speaker 7 (04:24):
I also heard kind of speaking to that yes yesterday,
first day of practice. I know everybody's hyped up, but
I think with George picking Sea Lambs, we thought we were
about to see like this big down the field type
of day, but I heard it was a lot more
short passes. Like you guys said, tempo was up and
they ran the ball more than they were focused on
throwing the ball, which is again what you guys keep saying.
(04:45):
Shoty said it and Shody sticking to it. I know
it's early, but what did you what did you kind
of see out there that was again different than what
we typically see when you're talking about tempo and focusing
on running the ball.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
Yeah, there were a lot of runs bring and specifically
with Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders splitting first team reps,
he got a little bit of a sprinkle of Jayden
Blue as well. And let me tell you, there's the
speed in that goddamn running back. Use my language, but
there's a lot of speed. Bear mouth Sanders. There was
one play where he like broke out for like a
(05:18):
twenty yard run untouched. Javonte Williams a will obviously sean
showcationing his ability to also help out in the receiving game,
but he had a lot of big runs as well.
Jayden Blue had one on first team reps that I
did see yesterday. But no, there isn't obviously a intension
of running the football, but it starts upfront like this
(05:39):
offensive line has certainly improved. Obviously it's not you know,
perfect yet 'ROMI and day two, but you're seeing Tyler
Booker go one on one with Osa and you know,
maybe sometimes even Solomon Thomas and handling his own Tyler
Smith of course will do Kyler Smith thing. But no,
Cooper Beet has improved as well. I think this offensive
line is in good hands. And then when you obviously
(06:01):
have that, you have a good run room.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Absolutely, And girl, you know I'd be a miss to
not ask you how is the tight end room looking?
How's that? Jake Fergie ferg how how how sweety is he?
We heard he leaned out a little bit from Shoddy
and his presser Again we're sticking to what shot he says,
But how has that voted well for him so far
from what you've seen? And who is who else is
(06:25):
getting one reps? If anybody in the tight end room?
Speaker 4 (06:28):
Yeah, girl, we have to help it. But you're seeing
Shady have some flexibility in doing a little bit more
twelve person. Now, there was a rep where it was
Jack Jake Ferguson sorry and Luke Maker on one side,
(06:50):
and then Maker released out on a row and you know,
wide open for Dad Prescott. So that's obviously a lot
of good things to see there. But now Lunda wells
also something to know. I saw them yesterday Reben span
four drop the past and he may all Titans get
down and do pushed ups now I don't remember how
manybody would below. So yeah, he's hold in that room
(07:14):
accountable in terms of like helping out with past protection
in terms of in the receiving game. And I think
that tight end two spot, I'm not gonnat se y'all.
This schoolmaker looks really good. His footwork has improved, He's
really gotten a lot faster as well, doing things better.
I think it'll be a lot of fun to watch
Brevin and Luke compete for that tight end two role.
(07:36):
But it obviously helps out Jact Burson. He's go and
you know catch for a thousand yards this year. Claim it.
Speaker 6 (07:42):
Yeah, it's I mean, the tight ends are going to
be very important to what you want to do this
upcoming season because people don't have to make some decisions
with those wide receivers out there with Ceedee, Lamb and
Pickens Nicole. So there is a gentleman that we have
not talked about this much, well that much through the
(08:02):
off season, and I think he For me, I kind
of was freaking out a little bit because of that
safety room having the depth that it has.
Speaker 5 (08:09):
Marquis Bell sounded like he had a pretty good day
yesterday in coverage.
Speaker 6 (08:13):
And got to see him from a few clips I
saw and a couple of packages doing some things defending
tight ends and stuff. How would you evaluate what you've
seen from him? And are you getting a gist of
maybe what his role will be because this safety room,
like it's insane that you have a guy like Janya
and Bell and you can't figure out ways to get
him on the field.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
So do you expect that?
Speaker 4 (08:36):
See, I was trying to I hadn't really paid attention
to the safeties just yet. I was gonna try to
get into it. No, it's okay. I was trying to
go to get into that probably tomorrow or Friday. Okay,
what I've seen, I know Bell from the things that
I have seen. He's also reading things a lot a
lot better as well. But I know they were kind
of sickly. Ye, Thomas a lot more today and first team, Yeah,
(09:00):
I gotta be a lot of fun to watch as well,
But just you know, that depth in that room.
Speaker 5 (09:04):
But that's a lot.
Speaker 6 (09:05):
That's interesting though that you mentioned that, because I'm more
so like if you think that, you know, obviously Marquis
Bell had a bit had a good day yesterday, and
then they have their emphasizing jan ye, maybe we're going
to see them implement multiple safety. So that's still important
to keep a look out for. So thanks girl, which
is no problem.
Speaker 7 (09:23):
I think you were don't hit my poor girl out
there answering all these questions.
Speaker 8 (09:27):
But I mean, I think the we're just exact.
Speaker 7 (09:31):
The main thing is like, like Nicole said, this is
only day two too. Oh yeah, Like there's only so
much that you can take out of it. But I
feel like everything I've heard, like not to overshadow it,
but it has been positive, Like it's exactly what you
would want.
Speaker 8 (09:46):
To see day one, day two.
Speaker 7 (09:48):
Obviously the paths aren't on, so that's what I'm sitting
back waiting for to see.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Really also shout out to Nicole for being ready with
these questions.
Speaker 8 (09:56):
I was like, I'm feeling this like it's an interview.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
I'm not Look, we didn't give her a list anything
we were gonna ask. We're just throwing them at her.
So shout out to our girl and the cole. A
lot of really good tweets coming out from Nicole to
so go follow her if you haven't already. H just
want to shout out that I'm so freaking proud of you.
Like you something else we have to talk about, Nicole.
(10:23):
You were there, the good, the bad, the ugly. You've
gotten You've gotten a witness at all in these last
two days of camp. But what were the vibes yesterday
Micah and tray Von talking to the media. What are
the vibes between both of them? What did you pick
up on maybe some you know, nonverbal cues, some things
(10:45):
you've heard. What can you say about that entire situation
and how it has unfolded.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
Well, it's funny because I was actually doing a walk
and talk with Miles Sanders while that was going on,
But then I caught the very end of it. I
thought it was first kind of odd that, you know,
both of them wanted to do the press conference together,
but you know they are best eat with seven eleven
Do or Die, So, uh, that was pretty interesting. But
I think there was a lot of things said that
(11:13):
I mean, obviously you guys have seen tweet. But so
things said, you know with you know, Jerry Jones before
the contract with Michael Parsons, why I had been delayed,
and you know he's looking for leadership, more more leadership
out of Michael and Trayvon, and Trayvon saying maybe, you know,
I feel like I've done what I need to do,
but he's open to, you know, taking on a little
(11:33):
bit more of a bigger role that they obviously want
out of him. So I mean it sounded like a
mix of accountability but also like hey, like you know,
Micah deserves to be paid. You know that he's had
double didn't back to the last four years. I mean,
so it's got to happen. You want him on the field.
You don't want to delay it anymore any longer. Uh.
(11:54):
And as far as Trayvon with the whole five hundred
pay deduction, I mean he said, you know, they're very
aware of you know, me going out to Florida rehab prods.
They were, they were in conversations throughout the whole way.
So I mean, you know, obviously there's two sides to
every story, but regardless, I think it's very crucial for
both of these guys to be on the field this year.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
Absolutely Well, we're going to take our first break. When
we come back, we're going to dive a little bit
deeper into some of Micah's comments and uh, we're going
to get into offense defense. Some highlights from training camp
day one and day two. Stick with us. This is
Girls Talk, Boys Talking, presented by Visiline. We'll be right back.

Love It, Love It. Welcome back to Girls Talk, Boys
Talk presented by Invisa line Aisha Brie, Nicole out Knoxnard.
I'm your host for the day, Jessinavars. Y'all, the worst
part about camp is these to me is waiting to
see kind of where these guys land in injury wise,
that are coming back from last year's injuries and some
of them unfortunately not ready to participate in camp. You
(15:34):
had Trayvon Diggs, Demarvi and Overshown and Josh Butler all
put on the pup list, and then Shavon Revell and
the non injury a non football injury list. But like
we said last year, we know the laundry list of
guys that we're suffering from injuries, Nicole. Some guys that
come to mind, obviously Dak Prescott, Sam Williams. What are
(15:58):
you seeing from those guys from what they're able to
do right now?
Speaker 4 (16:04):
Seeing Deak actually run has been good. I love that
move well. He's moving well. I mean he even said
before training camp that you know, he feels great, probably
the best that he's ever felt. So that's importance of
you know, taking your time and rehabbing and coming in
you know and doing the rehab that you need to
(16:25):
do and Sam in high praise early to Schodenheimer's league,
and he's moving well as well. I know that he
had missed today and rehab this off season. I know
that he's also been kind of getting some extra rehab
and training him so far as well. So yeah, I
mean that that's something that you know, this coaching staff
has stressed is not trusturing or forcing these guys to
(16:48):
come back too soon, but coming back when they're ready
and taking the time to actually kind of take care
of their bodies. While he's actually seen Sham William's really
sprint after trying to take on blocks as well. So
love to see that, love the high motor from.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
Him absolutely, And ladies, I'm gonna open this up. How
important is it for Sam Williams to what he's able
to do post injury. How important is it for him
to come out and have a great camp this this year?
Speaker 7 (17:15):
I think it's huge because that's one area of this
roster that is been added to and it's growing, and
I think him in there healthy just makes it that
much better.
Speaker 8 (17:23):
And I was actually gonna ask n Cale.
Speaker 7 (17:25):
I don't know if she saw it yesterday I saw
or not saw, but I read some clips or articles
about Sam Williams having to be simmer down already because
he's knocause the people to the floor and right now,
no pads on. You know, you're not supposed to no
one supposed to be on the ground right now. And
I heard he got I think he got two people,
is what I heard. And he had to They had
to set him out for a couple of reps. I
(17:45):
think that was Todd Archer who reported that. So I
thought that was hilarious because I'm like, not, he's the
boy's back, So I mean, you.
Speaker 8 (17:52):
Love to see it. I mean obviously, you know, you
know they had to.
Speaker 7 (17:55):
He's someone you gotta like wild in every little but
like they said that, you know, it's like I'd rather
have guys I got a real end. Then I have
to tell them they gotta absolutely step it up.
Speaker 6 (18:05):
So absolutely, I'm sorry.
Speaker 11 (18:08):
No, you're head.
Speaker 6 (18:11):
Jeez, lord about to go into wait h so what, Yeah, we're.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
Gonna have Nicole go check on something for us.
Speaker 8 (18:22):
Now we got distracted with breaking news.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
Yeah, sorry, we're gonna have Nicole go check on something
for us. In the meantime, I sent it to you,
so please go check on that for us. If you
need to call us back, so free all right.
Speaker 8 (18:37):
Okay, all right, we're just gonna okay, okay, kind of
like it was just cramps.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
All right, good, well, we're gonna have Nicole check anyways,
of course. Okah, yeah, okay. Well in the meantime, uh,
you know, we're on the topic of what getting guys
back can do. And obviously when you have QB one down,
we know the domino effect that that has. Ladies, I
want to ask this question to you because all of
the talk about the offensive line and rebuilding and building
(19:04):
that chemistry, what can Dak do? Obviously it's better in quarterback.
He knows how to do this to kind of speed
up this process of gaining you know, the cadence, the confidence,
all the good things with his offensive line throughout this
camp that maybe he hasn't done during OTAs already.
Speaker 6 (19:24):
Well, I mean I think, well, I think I think
I kind of spoke on it a little bit earlier.
Is that I think that they were very intricate in
learning the playbook we heard about it in OTA's in
mini camp and is getting a grasp of what Brian
Schottenhamer wanted them to do. But also too, we do
know that the offensive lineman that he has to work
with do go out in the off season and work
(19:45):
with other folks. It sounds like Duke Duke's philosophy has
been married to Connor Riley's and Clayton Adams and that
they are talking so he gets to have that cohesiveness
with them getting work on the outside so their time
and rhythm can get good. And then we know he
invites guys and they workout and stuff too, So he's
to me, just he's already been doing what's necessary to
(20:06):
build that.
Speaker 5 (20:06):
You know, that connection.
Speaker 6 (20:08):
And again, everything that I've seen and heard so far
is that the guys are playing with tempo. There's even
opportunities where the offensive line is rushing to the line,
which is again, pacing is important in football, and the
Cowboys offense didn't have a lot of that of dictating
a pace. So it sounds like that's something he wants
to implement. So these guys got to be on the
same page for that. And it sounds like that communication
(20:31):
has been strong between him and Dak and him so
far well Dak in offensive line specifically so far.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
But yeah, I mean I agree with all that.
Speaker 7 (20:37):
I feel like he's he's already ahead of the ball
and cliche as it is, gotta say healthy. That was
the biggest thing last year, like the contnunity with his health,
with the old line who's been switching it out, and
then you gotta nothing was nothing was flung with that group.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
It was.
Speaker 8 (20:52):
It was tough to watch. But it's also like, as
much as you don't.
Speaker 7 (20:55):
Want to make excuses, like you said, there was no
continuity being built there. So I think that's the biggest thing,
is just being healthy, and it does matter off the field.
I think that's why Shoty's so refreshing. It's because as
much as you just want them to go out there
and play ball, it is fun to watch the guys
have fun and say they're having.
Speaker 5 (21:12):
Facts like that is it don't matter what's sport, They're
allowed to have fun.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
We know these guys are there.
Speaker 8 (21:17):
They have fun, fun.
Speaker 5 (21:20):
Fun.
Speaker 8 (21:20):
It was not fun last fun.
Speaker 5 (21:22):
What's fun?
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Hey? Speaking of not not fun, we saw some tweets
about George Pickens and that's kind of why we have
our pickup earlier. Yeah, happy to Nicole, what have you
learned about what happened at practice with George Pickens?
Speaker 4 (21:36):
So I supposed to a couple of the Dallascowboys dot
com he who were paying attention, and they said that
he's fine. I actually saw George talking with m Coach,
Junior receivers coach, just off to the side. He's fine.
He just went down for about a minute. So it
sounds like that he just kind of fell on his leg. Wrong, lord, yeah, please.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
No good hot archer said that it looks like he
had a calf cramp and he was down for a bit. Look,
if you've ever gotten those, yeah, that'll take you down,
like a few miles at Disney World, it'll do you.
And like I'm speaking from experience. Yeah, so let him
rest up. Go Nicole, if you could just pass the
message along to drink more water?
Speaker 5 (22:23):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
But yeah, gotta love live live productions, ladies, live productions.
We are acting in real time. But Nicole, when when
you were being amazing and getting us some info, I
was talking about how important it is for Dak to
be working with the offensive line. What if you noticed
between him and Cooper Beb and his cadence, Because Cooper
(22:46):
Baby didn't get a lot of actual real time reps
with him after the injury, So what if you.
Speaker 15 (22:52):
Noticed from that, well, I think the timing, obviously, the
cadence and stuff has been fine. That's been worked on
this off season. I think it's more of that trust
with Cooper b B recognizing the right calls to make,
and I think that that's something that you know, I
can kind of see that Dak trusts him a lot more.
And if Cooper BBC is something that Dak doesn't, that
(23:13):
that communication has improved, just because you know, when you
get a year under your belt, you're feeling a little
bit more confident.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
So yeah, no, that's what I've noticed. The cadence obviously
has not changed to me from what I've heard.
Speaker 6 (23:25):
Yeah, with the offensive line, uh Nicole, I know, like
we were talking about, we're not gonna get too deep
into philosophies and things like that, But what are some
of the guys that are maybe stood out so far
obviously not in pads, but just movement. You can look
at their movement, you can look at kind of how
confident they look and stuff like, what are some of
some of the guys that have stood out to you?
Speaker 4 (23:48):
Well, Tyler Booker, of course, his power Tyler Smith is
a given right. I feel like Karen Steele has taken
or could take a big step.
Speaker 11 (23:58):
Awesome.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
Yeah, that movie. I feel like they're doing a little
bit better at getting to the second level. You can
see that that's somewhat of an emphasis, And yeah, I
mean that's something that I've also noticed a little bit.
I've been trying to pay attention to first, like the
skill players first, and then I'm gonna, you know, work
my way everywhere else. But no, I mean that's what
(24:20):
what I for sure noticed.
Speaker 6 (24:21):
No, Yeah, I think I also think this is an
offense that is gonna want. From what I saw at
mini camp and stuff, it seems like they're gonna want
to attack the edges with their speed guys, and also
too with their running backs and a receiver capacity to
some degree, like they want to really be able to
bounce to the outside of the numbers. And I think
that's something we got to see a little bit yesterday.
(24:43):
And when you mentioned that they look like they can
get to the second level better, I'm excited about that,
like them working as a unit more so, thank you.
Speaker 4 (24:50):
And also with yesterday to my bad yesterday too, you're
seeing a little bit more inside run. So that's something
that you know, are you shure you preached about the
fact that this interior has to be a lot stronger
and be able to open those gaps or running backs,
and I did see a little bit better of an
improvement from that in that aspect as well.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Yeah, awesome.
Speaker 7 (25:12):
I haven't really heard a lot or yesterday about the
old line. And then people who were because like poor
to Cole, like, when you're out there, you know, you
got the wide receivers on one side, you got EV's
on one side, like it's hard to cover everything.
Speaker 8 (25:25):
Uh so I applaud you.
Speaker 7 (25:27):
But I also I was watching somebody who was specifically
watching the old line yesterday because to the other one,
I play with it, because.
Speaker 5 (25:35):
That's what I was questions. That's from everybody. It's hard.
Speaker 7 (25:39):
But I will say that he's a big old Line
guy and he was just like, honestly, I was over
there for quite a bit of time, and one thing
I can say is that the tempo from the beginning
that wasn't just for the warm up, It wasn't just
for individuals, it was throughout and that was something that
has been missed. And then he also said like there
was nobody that stood out, but that's a good thing.
Speaker 8 (25:57):
When you're talking about offensive line.
Speaker 7 (25:59):
Because if you remember last him, we're like, there was
a couple of names that kept coming up, I can
handle this or switching this or he's with the ones
with the two's or what have you. But nobody was
out there when we're talking about mechanics was sticking out.
And again it's day one we're talking about yesterday. I
didn't really get to watch day two because we're sitting here.
But the O line, like, I think that is again positives.
(26:20):
It's hard to not get excited, but it's like, all.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
Right, yeah starting off loves to be so well, I
want to have it in film for everybody in four K.
Who are your pet cats for training camp on the
offensive side of the ball and what are you? Yeah?
Speaker 8 (26:37):
Everyone, who's your pet cat?
Speaker 4 (26:40):
And what you're going with me?
Speaker 3 (26:42):
First?
Speaker 5 (26:43):
Okay, I got it, check it.
Speaker 4 (26:44):
You know what, I'm gonna get some love maker. Yeah,
I'm gonna go with him just the way.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
Can I change it? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (26:53):
Actually you can, you can. I'm gonna go to loop
because you know, he said he had a hard time
in year two kind of just I mean, obviously he
stepped it when he needed when Jake Ferguson went out
with his injury, but I feel as if now it's
year three for him. He he's gotten a lot more
(27:14):
confident right in his assignments and things like that, and
he knows how important it is to kind of take
that load off of Jake, and that's what's gonna help
this offense take that next left and take that next step.
So I'm gonna go with Luke. You can see that.
You know, he's just done a lot of the work
this off season. I'm gonna go Luke, and.
Speaker 7 (27:33):
Then now I'm gonna do one Okay, one offense.
Speaker 8 (27:37):
Oh yeah, I'm going.
Speaker 7 (27:39):
I'm gonna go with someone who I was I'm not
gonna say skeptical, but I just wasn't sure how he fits.
But I'm kind of getting on the Miles Sanders bandwagon
just a little bit.
Speaker 8 (27:48):
Okay, He's a name that Honestly.
Speaker 7 (27:51):
When we signed him, I was like, all right, Like
it didn't do anything for me, and then I started
to actually like what he does. His one you know,
with the art with the newspaper guys, they get to
talk to him a little bit more, and I feel
like they open up more when they see twenty cameras
on them right after practice, just the TV side of things.
But like, I like the fact that he's like, hey,
(28:12):
it hurts a little that they in the Eagles were
willing to pay somebody else and not me. And I
didn't really think about it in that aspect that this
isn't like a guy who's fresh, you know, this isn't
I was thinking Javonte, William, Jade and Blue, That's.
Speaker 8 (28:25):
What I was thinking.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
One of you.
Speaker 7 (28:26):
But it seems like there's gonna be a more of
a competition there than I had thought. Scotty has spoken
very highly of him. Even yesterday. He had some I
think even today had some good things to say to him.
He seems a consistent piece. Again, it's early, but I'm
really like when I go out there, I feel like
that's who I'm going to be looking at because I
think this is a chance for him not to just
(28:47):
be a camp guy or a preseason guy, like this
is a chance to.
Speaker 8 (28:51):
Really take over.
Speaker 7 (28:53):
This is something with Shody wants to running backs in
this what he's building. He said that, So that's who
I'm rooting for.
Speaker 6 (29:00):
His vision stands out, my pet cat, his vision stands out,
and I figured that he would show what he was
capable of in these especially like before the pads are on.
I'm sure also too, he was able to get the
playbook like like crazy fast because he's played with other teams.
But my pet cat barnacles at on office.
Speaker 5 (29:22):
Yeah, I be what noises are you making over? I'm
gonna say he's laughing.
Speaker 6 (29:31):
I'm gonna say, my pet cat, I can't believe you
didn't saying Avante turping.
Speaker 5 (29:36):
Oh, Cavant turping.
Speaker 6 (29:38):
Okay, why because I believe that he really has an
opportunity to be a real problem for defenses. I do
believe that Shoddy intends to use him. We've even seen
him as a decoy in some instances in motion. I
mean that's that might be setting up plays for other
things for him to get the ball in his hands.
I also know that you know, uh as I talked
(30:00):
about before, Ceedee, Lambon and Pickens aren't going to attract
so much attention. The middle of the field is something
that you're gonna be able to navigate at will make
people pay, and he will make people pay with his speed.
So Cavante Turfin is my pet cat right now that
I'm paying attention to I know we probably should be
saying like a rookie or something, but really, I.
Speaker 8 (30:19):
Think so with the turfing.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
Yeah, with the turf, I'm gonna you're gonna go. She's
gonna do her job. We love you, we appreciate you.
Following Nicole on Twitter for all the best coverage.
Speaker 5 (30:32):
Thank you Nicole.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
Real quick, before we go to break, I'm gonna say
my pet cat is Jonathan Mingo.
Speaker 8 (30:39):
Oh, I'm gonna go.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
I gotta keep it a little unpredictable guy.
Speaker 8 (30:44):
It wasn't.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
I know you guys expected me to say it tight end,
but I didn't.
Speaker 8 (30:47):
I know, I'm shocked, but I didn't.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
I'm going Jonathan Mingo because he didn't really have a
chance last year to show how he could be utilized
in this offense. And obviously all eyes are gonna be
on George picking Seed Lamb, but you still need that
third receiver. That's still a very key and vital part
of a successful offense because when they're all tied up,
who's your go to guy for wide receiver three? And
(31:11):
I know they call it one A, one B, so
I guess technically too. Whatever whatever math you want, a
math that works. But I'm gonna go. Jonathan Mingo. I
from what I've seen the clips that have been posted online,
he looks like he is gaining that confidence, and that's
what I wanted for him going into this year. I
didn't want last year to discourage him or the background
noise because we know it can get pretty loud. But yeah,
(31:32):
I'm gonna go. Jonathan Mingo is my He's.
Speaker 5 (31:35):
Having a good day too.
Speaker 6 (31:36):
And to your point about him, I know that, you know,
we had the conversation in the offseason about uh, the
there being a competition between he and Jalen Tolbert. But
I'm just if you got a if you got a
guy that your fourth to fifth receiver, I'm still can
you hear me?
Speaker 8 (31:52):
I can't.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
Okay, we just having a little mic. Sorry, Healty, I
think Oh.
Speaker 5 (31:55):
I'm like I was trying to say, Hey, it's my
first day.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
Bet are y'all all right? Well, with that being said,
we're gonna go to break. Give us a chance to
get this up figured out. We will be right back.

I gotta do it.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
You know what, it's our first day back.
Speaker 8 (34:59):
Look, well Thursday, we just makes it stronger.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
It's not about the journey, it's about the what is it.
Speaker 8 (35:05):
I'm not sure. I was just trying to journey support
the destination.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
No, it's not about the destination.
Speaker 8 (35:09):
It's about the journey.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
Okay, is that right, Yeah, I'm sure. Well we'll say
that that's not like something from Disney Channel. I say,
hobby Lobby like he lord, Oh my goodness. All right, well, ladies,
let's flip the script to the defensive side of the ball.
Speaker 6 (35:26):
Now.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
One of the things that stood out to everybody was
Shoddy talking about Mozzi Smith saying he's slimmed down and
he wants to be you. He wants him to be
utilized as a one tech. Uh. There was some mixed feelings.
And that's gonna say it nicely about this on the internet. Ladies,
how are you feeling about Mazzi being used as a
(35:49):
one tech? I mean he's supposed to be He's supposed
to be a one tech.
Speaker 5 (35:53):
Is it the three tech thing?
Speaker 6 (35:54):
Yes, it's like them using him more as a three
tick like get up the field type thing.
Speaker 14 (35:57):
Yes.
Speaker 9 (35:58):
What for whah?
Speaker 5 (36:00):
This this is so frustrating because this is that is
not something that like.
Speaker 6 (36:05):
Although Mazi's athletic profile was crazy come out of college,
what he was asked to do in Michigan was to
take on blocks, eat up space and let the other humans.
Speaker 5 (36:15):
Do the rushing.
Speaker 6 (36:16):
That is just not and I will say I will
say about Mazi. We saw improvements from him last year.
Towards the end of the year, I started seeing him
on film reading the defense, understanding timing when he sheds,
and things like that. He started getting better in that regard.
I will say, even at mini camp and stuff, I
was like, dang, he looks faster, he looks lighter. So
(36:37):
it was noticeable that he had lost some weight. But
I'm still trying to understand maybe ebra Flus's system in
the way that we knew it to be might look
different than what you know.
Speaker 5 (36:51):
He thought like, maybe we haven't found that out yet.
Speaker 6 (36:53):
But he typically has a big ham dog in the
middle to take up, to take up, to take up
space and to eat up blocks and stuff, and there
are he has had instances where he does like defensive
tackles to get up field, but that's typically three texts.
So I'm kind of confused as to what they want
from him. And I honestly feel for him because I
(37:16):
feel like he's going through so many philosophy and coaching changes.
It's a weird spot to be in.
Speaker 5 (37:22):
So I don't know.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
I don't I'm not a fane, what do you think.
Speaker 8 (37:25):
I don't read too much into it.
Speaker 7 (37:27):
Like I said, I keep saying, it's just so early, guys,
I think it's shady. You gotta think like he was
sitting back and not that he had no say so.
But that's not something he would have a lot to
say so. But just like what we saw from Mazzi,
so did Schotttheimer and he had his own opinions. So
I think bringing Ebraflus to defensive guy Shody seeing what
he saw, getting Eberflus's take on it, why not try
(37:48):
different things to see what works. This is the time
to try it, right, I guess he and he's been
he's been like he's been kind of like throwing like
Mazi in our Sometimes we don't even ask.
Speaker 5 (37:57):
About Mazi in press conferences and.
Speaker 7 (37:59):
He'll be like like Mozzi Smith stepping up like it's
just like he's he's a fan, and I think he's
there's a lot of when you're the first round pick,
there's a lot of hype, So I think he's not
only trying to get us to buy in.
Speaker 8 (38:14):
But he's also trying to boost that man's confidence.
Speaker 7 (38:18):
I think this is a team that has strolled in
the run game, so when you're seeing that, you're like how.
Speaker 8 (38:22):
Does that help. It's just so that's why the Internet,
because I.
Speaker 5 (38:30):
Looked at it the same way.
Speaker 7 (38:31):
So I think I understand both sides of it. I'm
not necessarily like, go for it, but I also like,
like you said, this is a.
Speaker 8 (38:39):
Whole new system, so ebrifus could have something.
Speaker 7 (38:42):
Slick up and sleeves that we see it forming together somehow,
some way, what have you. It's not like Mazzi was
the only one. Solomon Thomas is one tech guy. Winfrey's
in there doing the same thing, right, So it's kind
of like, all right, it's not like they just had
Mazi in there. They were putting him, you know, switching
it up. Have you is camp That was day one
(39:03):
when it was happening. I don't know what he was
doing out there today. So I mean, I get it
both sides. Do I want to see it consistently now?
Speaker 8 (39:13):
But you know, well, it's early, That's what I say.
It's early, it's new, it's new.
Speaker 3 (39:19):
If he I guess for me, what gets me? And
to your point about Mazie constantly being on a rotation
of coordinators, d line coaches, schemes, ideas, it's I would
imagine frustrating for him to be at this point in
his career still not really knowing what they want from him.
(39:41):
But I feel like with Schottenheimer coming in, Flu's coming
in making that specific mission and hopefully having that stability
of not another coaching change, that's going to boost his confidence.
And I think a guy like Mazi
