Ladies.
Speaker 4 (00:42):
Good morning, was popping.
Speaker 5 (00:43):
How y'all doing? Good morning? Good morning? We got kind
of excited or she's gonna.
Speaker 6 (00:49):
I was like, why do we need to find it?
What are you going?
Speaker 5 (00:52):
You're not?
Speaker 4 (00:53):
No, we need to find No, I'm not gonna do.
Speaker 6 (00:56):
You go put the closer, Like what did that do?
Speaker 5 (00:58):
I don't know I'm doing. You tried it?
Speaker 6 (01:01):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:02):
I don't know what happened.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
I'm not gonna do.
Speaker 5 (01:03):
It's fine. How are you doing? We're good?
Speaker 6 (01:06):
Everybody getting betting into football?
Speaker 4 (01:08):
Yeah, thank you, Paul. I don't have it in me,
but it's fine. That's all we have this drop for us.
But ladies are gonna get straight to it. NFC East
talks the Cowboys right now in eleventh place, of course,
in the hunt for a playoff spot. The Philadelphia Eagles,
she's going to do number one, she is.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
She needs to be locked up.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
It's fine, Philadelphia Eagles. They need to be locked up.
But it's fine they can't. They're number one in the
NFC right now.
Speaker 5 (01:35):
Obviously take it.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
Take it down Green Bay last night, but just talking
about the NFC's picture right now, Giants of course, Washington
right now.
Speaker 5 (01:47):
Cowboys is there? So hope alive?
Speaker 6 (01:50):
This NFC is weird.
Speaker 5 (01:52):
It is very weird.
Speaker 6 (01:54):
Stick of the Eagles finding ways.
Speaker 7 (01:56):
So last night I fell asleep in at half time,
by the way, because it wasn't enough happening on the field,
And I woke up and I said, that's the final score?
Speaker 5 (02:05):
Crazy.
Speaker 6 (02:05):
I didn't miss much.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
It didn't look like, yeah, there's at least amount of
points since like two thousand and seven, and it was
against the Cowboys when they won ten six, sorry.
Speaker 6 (02:13):
They seven and two.
Speaker 5 (02:15):
It's very confusing. But when you talk about the NFAC,
you said, do the Cowboys have a what? What did
you say? Is there still hope? There's a sliver. Now,
if the Cowboys would have won the Carolina Game Bears game,
then we would be having a whole different conversation. We
would be like, oh, is there a chance. We'd be like, oh,
(02:35):
there's more, there's more of a chance, Like they need
to win some games, but since they dropped those games,
they would essentially have to you know, almost win out,
maybe get some breaks or whatever the case may be.
But it's very frustrating to your point of call. When
you watch the Eagles. Watch when you watch the Eagles,
there was a lot of green on the screen. You
(02:56):
didn't like it. I couldn't do it. Oh Green Bay
and Peel. Yeah, it was a lot the disdain I
have inside.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
As they bring up on the screen.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
But uh, to watch them, you would think like if
Dallas's defense with some of the reinforcements and some of
the guys coming back and stuff like, okay, well maybe
they could have a chance. You know, with this Dallas team,
they need to focus on themselves. They coming off this
by Uh, there's some things like we're trying to see
improvement from the defense, but you're also looking for this
offense to kind of get back going the last couple
(03:28):
of weeks prior to the bye we saw them really
struggle to uh, to continue that kind of you know
surge they were on. So for me, I'm like, I'm
about we need to worry about us. Yeah, that's your
dang self.
Speaker 7 (03:41):
They say that, but like they really mean it in
this locker room because it doesn't matter who's on the
other side. A couple of surprises, losses, disappointments if you will,
that they should have put away. And I think at
the beginning of the season, we do what we always do.
You look at the schedule. Oh cowways got that one
for sure, that one, that one, and you just cannot
do that this season with this team because it anywhere
(04:03):
in emotional world, that's that's fair.
Speaker 5 (04:04):
Is that fair?
Speaker 6 (04:05):
Like we saw one of the Panthers doing they confuse
me every week.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
And on Sunday, I mean, and then you look you
look across like even across the NFL, you look at
the AFC, you look at the Patriots that are starting
to seem like they're figuring things out again. It's just weird.
And you saw the Bucks come out fast. I thought
they were going to be the line out slow. Yeah,
lines came out slow. Now they look like they might
be the best team in the NFC. The Packers, everybody
was like, oh, it was talking about this season nobody
(04:32):
but let women run the show and see what happens.
Speaker 6 (04:34):
You hear me, Yeah, it's just crazy. Yeahss the league.
Speaker 7 (04:37):
But the Cowboys eight games left to figure things out,
and you gotta really start sacking the wins. I think
that was the the hit to the loss to the
Cardinals before the bye week, because now you're, like Brian
Schotenheimer is sitting there like, yeah, we made this a
lot harder for ourselves coming back, and that's that's fact.
(04:58):
And then you got four you got four games within
eighteen days, like it's coming and they're stacking.
Speaker 6 (05:04):
And then you look at the schedule like past the
Raiders and I'm not.
Speaker 7 (05:07):
Even going into Monday night primetime again thinking that they're
gonna be a team with two wins like I did
last week or two weeks ago that did it again?
Speaker 4 (05:15):
Leave the pass in the past, Listen, don't be like that.
Speaker 6 (05:20):
Because it just depends who shows up. And I think
a lot of it too.
Speaker 7 (05:23):
What the Cowboys have gotten away from a little bit
is their balanced offense.
Speaker 6 (05:27):
I will say the.
Speaker 7 (05:29):
The run game started off so strong and it took
a little, a little dip, if you will, And I
think a lot of it has to do they're trying
to figure out who is that running back to It's
I just talked about four games eighteen days.
Speaker 6 (05:42):
You can't ask Fante Williams to do what he's been doing.
Speaker 7 (05:45):
And since Miles Sanders went out, I don't think they've
found out who can really be reliable in that spot.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
And I'm about to saying them with letting go of
Malie Davis and then bringing them back and like, I'll
just be playing with him, stop playing him. But it's
not impossible. Like I went back and saw the teams
that were three five and one and turned their seasons around.
So since nineteen ninety, of course, a handful of these
teams have done it. The nineteen ninety New Orleans Saints,
nineteen ninety four New England Patriots, two thousand and two
(06:13):
New York Jets, two thousand and eight San Diego Chargers
of course at the time, twenty eleven Denver Broncos, and
twenty twenty Washington Commanders that actually started one in.
Speaker 5 (06:23):
Five and made the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
So it's not like impossible passive.
Speaker 7 (06:28):
It's not like last season where every week the percentage
went like down. It was just like, there's a lot
of upside to this team. It's hard to see it
right now because again, they just had two back to
back rough losses. You're looking at the entire schedule of
teams they should have taken care of when, in my opinion,
at the point of the season when we were talking
about Chicago, especially when you're talking about the Panthers going
(06:50):
into that series twelve and three should be this is
a team you dominate on the Cardinals who didn't have
their starting quarterback and it didn't matter, and you promoted
him to starting QB last week and you saw what
was supposed to happen in.
Speaker 5 (07:05):
This past week. They looked like they did before.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
It's just not everybody takes you know what, We're not
going to have the past in the past. But there
is a lot to be positive or happy, positive, whatever
you will say, because of what they did and they're
getting back defensively. That has been the thing holding this team,
the weight, the anchor on the neck. Let's talk about
(07:30):
let's talk about you bring up a good point that
you know obviously the games in the past they should
have won. They either struggled or they didn't win. So
looking at this next stretch, of course they're at the Raiders.
They play the Eagles Sunday, they play the Chiefs Thanksgiving,
then they play the Lions Goodness, then they play the Vikings. Okay,
(07:54):
how much margin for error do they even have down
the stretch? Okay, that's that's what that's the scary part.
Speaker 5 (08:01):
They don't.
Speaker 7 (08:02):
Yeah, and they get every man. If you talk about
Dak Prescot happened to be perfect.
Speaker 5 (08:08):
Yeah, this match that much, it's gotta do it. It's
I hope, I hope they come out.
Speaker 7 (08:15):
There's a lot happening with this team, right, And I
think sometimes when the emotions and you're playing for a
specific person and coming together, which is what it sounds
like this team is doing. I saw the article by
Dallas with Dallas worrying News, and I think, let.
Speaker 5 (08:30):
Me give.
Speaker 4 (08:32):
Tommy Tommy or if you haven't seen the article, you
should check it out. He's had a I was talking
to Solomon Thomas about you know, I think everyone knows
what he's been through with.
Speaker 6 (08:46):
His sister, right, and we talked about it yesterday.
Speaker 7 (08:50):
I was I said for me personally, I got to
get to work when things like that happen, I just
I got to keep moving. And it seems like Solomon
Thomas's you know way is dipping into his foundation, giving
back to the community, and I think it said a lot
for his He basically said his teammates right the rest
of the defensive line.
Speaker 6 (09:06):
They all joined him.
Speaker 7 (09:07):
It was like it didn't seem like no hesitation, he didn't,
you know. He's like, this is what I'm gonna do.
You guys are welcome, and everybody showed up. And I
think that message is powerful, and I think that's what
this team might kind of. I think it's gonna make
him closer. Hard times can either really lock you in
or can make you feel a little bit defeated. And
I think they're at least from the outside. Again, we
(09:27):
haven't really seen them. We're not gonna hear from them
till Thursday, I believe, so that we'll see how the
vibes are in the locker room. But it seems like
this could be an opportunity where this brings this team
closer together and they're playing for something. I remember when
I was covering Deamorrow Hamlin's incident, and it was so
(09:48):
electrifying going back to Heimark Stadium when they got back
on the field first kick return of the game, ran
it back for like ninety eight yard tests out and
it was so electric. There were so many signs, right,
and we know there's gonna be some tributes happening there.
It's gonna be a lot of emotions happening when they
come back to town. But I do feel like this
team will maybe stomp out the Raiders and get do
(10:12):
you know what I'm saying like that, Yeah, like we're
we're here, We're relevant, and I'm looking forward to seeing
what this team does in a hardship.
Speaker 5 (10:22):
If you will, Can I ask a questions? So with
the gauntlet of games that they have to play, you
know coming up, take out playoffs? Right, take out the
idea of the playoffs. Okay, are you trying to find
out like who you are as a team to have
moving forward? Because I think that's kind of playoffs. Is
(10:45):
Is it possible? Sure, it's absolutely possible. But if right now,
right second half of the season, are you trying to
figure out like what you do well, what you don't
do well? All that good stuff? Kind of get a
better gauge for this roster also to not just for
playoff hopes, but before possibly if you don't make it,
if you don't get the breaks, like what are we
gonna do? What is next year're gonna look like? How
(11:07):
we drafting?
Speaker 6 (11:08):
What is I feel like I feel.
Speaker 5 (11:09):
Like this is a big evaluation period for this team.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
That's a good point. I would say it's kind of
a mix of both, because when we hadn't seen the
front office attack the NFL trade deadline like they just
did with pieces bring in that can make an immediate
impact like a Quinn Williams, and of course, but then
there's also like this, they have those guys for the
(11:32):
next what two three years? So I think there's also
a thought in their minds like, hey, just in case
we don't make the playoffs, we're good for the future.
And because you're are you one or two pieces away
from being a playoff team? I don't know, but I
think that as of right now, they've built or somewhat
(11:56):
like kind of filled those missing pieces in terms of
stop the run. Right now we gotta fix. But I
think they've done the necessary things to kind of fix
piece by piece.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
But I mean to build upon, to build up, to
build upon, like you got you got Quint Williams in
the middle, you got you signed Osa. I know, a
guy like Solomon Thomas is happy for a gentleman like
Quinton Williams. And then you get Logan Wilson, you get
into Marian over shown back, we get to we'll get
to see what savon savone ravel looks like. Like quiet
(12:29):
as cap Kayln Carson came out last week, played a free,
solid game, very quietly, played pretty solid game. In watching
the film, you That's what I'm saying is like I'm
trying to figure out if I'm gonna watch the rest
of the season in the mindset of of course I
won't play out, you know, but but let's build upon something,
(12:50):
you know, let's have something solid coming at the end
of the season. Being like this offense is legit. I
felt like some of the offensive line issues they had.
It's more also too, because guys coming back, they got
a mesh. Now you know, you got Brock and those
guys out there, they've been playing together for a while.
There was some continuity. I think that some of these
gentlemen on the offensive line coming back needs some time
(13:10):
to kind of mesh with the other gentlemen. So I
feel like you got to figure out what you are
and to define an identity on that side of the ball.
I feel like they're run the ball, you know, play
off the run, all that stuff, pat big plays down
the field, whatever, But also too, like, let's establish what
you are on the offensive side of the ball and
(13:31):
the defensively, what are you now with Quentin Williams in
the middle, Logan Wilson getting some of these guys back.
So I feel like I'm taking on this second half
of the season and more of an evaluation thing so
I can know, all right, next year, you might you
got something. You can really hit the ground next year
and be like, hey, we like to run the ball,
(13:51):
we can make big plays. Our defense is going to
maybe we'll see them get more turnovers, maybe we'll see
them get better at the run. But like, let's find
something to hang our head on going into next season,
because last year you have nothing to hang your hat on.
Year before that you barely had anything to hang your
hat on. You need something to be like, let's build
upon this for the next year and really like start
(14:12):
to nourish that. Does it make sense?
Speaker 7 (14:13):
Yeah, I feel like this is a table where we
kind of wan rational what I hear. I don't watch
every I don't watch all the other shows, so I
would have to I think for us it makes sense.
And but you have to think about what lens you're
looking at. We're talking about the front office lens, the
Jerry Jones lens who keeps talking about he knows what
his age is. He wants to see his legacy and
(14:36):
on something positive.
Speaker 6 (14:38):
He's made that very clear, especially.
Speaker 7 (14:39):
More in his latest interviews and if you really listen
to the words like this man is trying to win now.
Speaker 6 (14:43):
So I would only disagree with that point because the
moves that they've made.
Speaker 7 (14:47):
Yes, it's positive because it's not like a one year
deal with Quinnell Millers, right, he's here for he secured
for a.
Speaker 6 (14:53):
Few more, for a couple more years.
Speaker 7 (14:55):
But I will say this is something that the Cowboys
could have done in the offseason. They could have seen
what's kind of shaping up in the draft. This team,
the people running this they want to win right now.
They're trying to sell to a fan base right now.
Again through our lens, let's see what happens. But through
that Lens. I think the moves that they've made bring
in a Logan Wilson. They see they need help with
(15:17):
linebacker right now and they want to be strong and
make it to the postseason. They have to win right now,
and that's what they did in the linebacker room.
Speaker 6 (15:25):
That's pretty much.
Speaker 7 (15:27):
Obviously, we haven't seen him on the field yet with
this team. I understand that he wasn't a starter where
he came from, which is another struggling defense. But it's
an upgrade regardless from what was happening in the linebacker
room specifically, like you mentioned, the interior just.
Speaker 6 (15:44):
Got a hell of a lot stronger with Quinn Williams.
Speaker 7 (15:47):
Right, you've seen what Pickens and CD can are able
to do. We don't know, I know over what's very scared.
We don't know if Pickens's going to be here next season.
It is going to be next season. That's what we're
looking at. This is the team who wants to win
right now.
Speaker 5 (16:04):
But that's my point is that this is this is
the time to figure it out. Like I mean, I
think Pickings.
Speaker 7 (16:10):
Is shaving what I'm saying, but yeah, no, I I
agree one hundred percent what you're saying.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
So what but how like somebody uh matt Owan professor, Oh,
I need somebody to run the numbers for the playoffs.
Hopes what they get? What do they need to do
to get into the playoffs? Because believe me, like you
just said, if that's the case, they know, the coaches
know what they need to.
Speaker 7 (16:34):
Feel like, you're gonna see the shift, Like, let them
drop two more games in a row, it's gonna then
we start to see them. I feel like more for
the future, but right now, like I feel like that's
why I feel like they're gonna go to Vegas and
they're gonna They're gonna explode.
Speaker 5 (16:49):
And the sad part is the way that the Vegas I
was snooping, I was being nosy, the the way the
Vegas fans is moving. They might not even.
Speaker 6 (16:58):
Come the numbers right here.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
Actually, I believe the Cowboys will have to have they'll
have to reach nine wins to get to the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (17:08):
How many they got right now?
Speaker 4 (17:10):
Three?
Speaker 5 (17:13):
And then how many games.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
Is left those Cowboys need?
Speaker 7 (17:15):
They need six wins allegedly, So what's the two losses you.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
See on the schedule. Let me see what the schedule.
Speaker 4 (17:23):
The two losses Philly and the Chiefs two more losses,
You not the lines.
Speaker 5 (17:30):
I think they got a better chance to be.
Speaker 6 (17:31):
The Chiefs are weird crazy this season. They they're very much.
Speaker 5 (17:37):
Beatable.
Speaker 6 (17:37):
I will say the Eagles just put up ten points
last night.
Speaker 5 (17:41):
I would say Philly is is mikebeatable? Yes?
Speaker 6 (17:44):
I would agree with Philly.
Speaker 5 (17:45):
I would say mcphilly is beatable, and then uh, and
then the Lions. I would say the lines got to
be the loss. I would think to say the lines
got to be the loss. I would take that over
the chief because the Chiefs are semi fickle life and
can't well and.
Speaker 6 (18:00):
His bad call and plays again.
Speaker 5 (18:02):
I don't know about the Lions.
Speaker 4 (18:04):
Yeah, on those road and Billy said three two, So
you know been right. I'm sorry, Billy, Billy with three wins,
say three losses, my bad.
Speaker 5 (18:13):
Three losses the remaining.
Speaker 7 (18:15):
With the I'm wanting to the upset at home because
they essentially play their best ball.
Speaker 6 (18:20):
I think the Chiefs the chief You think that we
now I'm going I'm very much.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
You think the Cowboys are gonna be the Chiefs for Thanksgiving?
Speaker 6 (18:27):
Marquie, We're gonna take our first break.

Let's stick with this Raiders offense, who is struggling twenty
ninth in offensive yards, twenty seventh in passing yards per game,
twenty seventh in offensive yards per play, thirty first, in
points per game, twenty fourth, passing yards per attempt, thirtieth
in offensive yards per game, and it just keeps going
(22:17):
down and there.
Speaker 5 (22:18):
It's not good at all.
Speaker 4 (22:20):
Twenty ninth and rushing yards twenty ninth, and rushing yards
per game thirtieth and rushing yards per play. I'm sorry,
I just had to do it, but I mean, that's
a good thing for this defense, who rates statistically near
the bottom in the NFL.
Speaker 5 (22:32):
Right, Yeah, it's a lot going on over there. Yeah,
there's a lot going on over There's a lot of questions.
It's a lot of questions in the coach and staff.
Their offensive line is befuddling. Uh. They fir and coaches
in season, got interim coaches as their new special teams coordinated.
(22:54):
Because the special teams has been so poor. Gino Smith
is dealing with a quad injury. He's playing through it.
People are calling for Kenny Pickett. I don't know why
you do that, but that's how bad it is there. Yeah,
fielding a lot of rookies, y'all. I'm telling you they
fans is ticked off. I was creeping earlier today and
(23:16):
I was like, y'all want the whole staff fired. The
hall they're going on, they're on like a mixed strike.
And it makes me sad too, because I have a
soft spot for Pete Carroll. Is because he's elderly, maybe
it's because he's a senior of the citizens.
Speaker 7 (23:34):
He seems like a nice guy, and I think also
Sean Heimer talks highly of him so much that I
started to like him.
Speaker 5 (23:40):
Right, But they don't care over there. They actually they
they are actually really looking at Tom Brady and some
of the folks that decided to put this stuff together.
They just don't It sounds like this this coaching staff
has not messed through the season. They're fielding a lot
of rookies, a lot of young guys, and they are
not getting the results that they're looking for, specifically on
(24:02):
the offensive side of the ball.
Speaker 7 (24:04):
Yeah, my mother says, it could always be worse, can
it when you're looking at these two teams going against
each other in prime time? Vegas is definitely, but could
be worse going on there.
Speaker 6 (24:19):
I can talk a little trash about the Raiders.
Speaker 7 (24:20):
I grew up twenty minutes outside of Oakland when this
team was the Oakland Raiders. It's the same story year
after year when mister Carr was there, okay, and they
made the playoffs one time, the city acted like we
just won a super Bowl. That is what the Raiders
(24:41):
got going on. They haven't been able to have a
real quarterback. They've missed in the draft, and Gino Smith
thought Pete Carroll and him would do what we saw
flashes of in Seattle, and it hasn't happened. I even
thought Pete Carroll would do something there. Now, I will
(25:03):
say I didn't think Antonio Pierce, the head coach, was
there prior. I don't think he was given an adequate
amount of time nor the resources because you never had
a quarterback. And I think they're feeling the ramifications because
from what I heard in that locker room and from
the people that I know who covered the team that
locker room was behind. Yeah, so it don't make a
(25:24):
lot of sense for what was picked apart. But nonetheless,
as you can see on the stats, the stats don't lie.
Speaker 5 (25:32):
You read them again, you want me to read it.
Speaker 7 (25:34):
Oh, it's the third ranks the third worst in the league. Yeah,
that's sorry, my laptop were the second worst defense.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
Yep, alright, that's cool. It's all on here, that's cool.
Speaker 7 (25:45):
I have more faith in Oh, Gina Smiths has thrown
twelve interceptions and eleven touchdowns.
Speaker 6 (25:51):
That's nasty work.
Speaker 5 (25:52):
He'd be tossing that thing to the other team very much.
Speaker 6 (25:54):
So, I'm my god, I can't even for me.
Speaker 7 (25:59):
I'm like, they have some they do have some rookies
who can do some stuff, but they don't feed them.
Speaker 5 (26:03):
Enough in my opinion, I mean, ye watching them, I mean,
brock Bowers obviously is the you know, the night Yeah,
like obviously, Like brock Bowers is the guy over there.
They brought in Tyler Lockett, you know, this offseason. Despite
the fact that he's a little bit older, I still
think that he's a really good route runner. He's very
good in the scrambled drill. They're just not seeing. And
(26:24):
then also to uh Daunte Thornton junior, their rookies dealing
with some drops. It's just offensively, they're all line that's
another Oh let me I was getting there. Yeah, that's
that's that's.
Speaker 4 (26:36):
The just way to say I'm coming, y'all.
Speaker 5 (26:41):
That's that is that is the biggest concern for them
moving forward is Jackson powersh Johnson is has been placed
on I R with an ankle injury. And also to
uh Dylan par him, Uh, they don't know. We'll have
to keep our ears low to the ground because it
sounds like he's dealing with the ankle injury as well.
(27:02):
And if they have to to your point, break, they
have not drafted well on that offensive line. They picked
guys and they have not either they haven't developed them,
which is a whole nother conversation because we're not just
gonna put it on the player all the time or uh,
you know, they're the lack of the coaching and things
like that. And this offensive line, y'all, it's a hot mess.
(27:23):
It is. It is one of the poorest offensive line
the Dallas Dallas will play and man, that gentleman Alex Cappel.
He came into that game last week, and I can
tell you that the Broncos knew he was in it
as soon as he stu and they was like, are
those my bonuses? I smell?
Speaker 7 (27:42):
Listen, it's a mess. My I went home last week, right, Raiders.
My house is divided, Raiders Niners. That's where we're located.
Speaker 5 (27:51):
Right.
Speaker 7 (27:51):
Somebody looked at me in my eye. It said the
Raiders could be a good team this year if they
had a quarterback and offensive line.
Speaker 6 (27:58):
I said, that's happened.
Speaker 5 (28:00):
To that's so much. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
It's funny though it's not funny, but y'all know it's funny.
Oh god, because we said this, what when the Cowboys play.
Speaker 6 (28:08):
I'd like to laugh Chicago.
Speaker 5 (28:10):
No, we're not doing that. I'm not doing that.
Speaker 4 (28:12):
We also said it when they played the New York Giants.
Speaker 6 (28:15):
Giants, and you remember what.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
Russell did well in Fairness, fair and I'm not done Arizona.
Speaker 7 (28:23):
We said this, the Giants hurt me the worst all
season long. Giants won't hurt me the worst, mostly because
I missed my flight messing around with that over time.
That's why you were man, Yeah, because that wasn't supposed to.
Speaker 5 (28:33):
She didn't tell us that that, But that's that's but
that's what.
Speaker 7 (28:37):
Yeah, they make, they've been they've made but not good
offenses look good.
Speaker 6 (28:41):
They've made.
Speaker 4 (28:43):
Quarterbacks who have jobs been on the line be very
steady going into the next week, and then they play
another team and then they get benched or they the.
Speaker 6 (28:52):
Drop office there.
Speaker 7 (28:52):
I think we shared the actual quote or not quote
statistic a couple of weeks ago from Todd our chair.
I don't have it in front of me, but it
was very eye opening that when he pulled out the
numbers of how exactly much drop off these offenses have
the week after they basically beat the Cowboys.
Speaker 5 (29:12):
Well, I mean, in fairness, I will say that I
do think that the defensive line is taking a step absolutely,
and what I mean by that obviously you got Quinn Williams,
so that's huge. Kenny Clark like that. Interior I think
has a better rotation of guys. But Jadeveon Clowney probably
had his best game of the year, especially from stopping
the run. I mean, he read the run phenomenally against
(29:35):
the Cardinals, and I think that was a little bit
of the know how coming out over the like physical ability.
You know, people talk about that he's older and things
like that, but it was like he was a tick
he was a tick ahead because he was reading the
run so well. And then I was obviously donovanz Aarako,
we see him ascending. So I think your edge play
is the Cowboys made a decision the other week. They said,
(29:58):
we're going to these are gonna be our starters. We're
not gonna keep doing all these rotations. We're gonna be
our starters. And the edge play did seem better last
week with those two guys.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
Let me ask you something. So obviously they were talking
about playing more five man front, right, But now that
you've seen the edge play improve with Elsie and Jadeveon
Clowney and you can have a piece like Quinn Williams,
do you feel like now this scheme can finally come
to fruition with that attack front with four guys.
Speaker 5 (30:28):
Yeah, because you got a big a big dough. Because
that's the thing about gotta go. That's the thing about
Kenny Clark is like coming in. I think unfortunately everyone
was so excited about Kenny Clark being like the run
stuff for guy, but really Kenny Clark has some three
techie get up field type vibe. His body type is
not necessarily like I'm a ham and I'm just gonna
(30:51):
eat up space. So I think with that in mind,
I think you've seen that. I've seen you've seen that
in games. You've seen him not be able to get
off double team and stuff like that. Clinton Williams honors
a double team like you got to you got to
double team him, and I think that's gonna open up
matchups for other guys. Some of the stunts and stuff
that Dallas has been trying to run haven't been as
(31:12):
effective because those those guys taking on double teams Diosa's
and those guys are not warranting them regularly enough, so
it's just some miscommunications and stuff. So for me, I'm like, yeah, girl,
I think I think that you'll be able to do
more with him in the middle and then that rotation
in the middle being kind of versatile as opposed to
(31:32):
those guys having to play extended snaps and they're undersized.
Speaker 4 (31:36):
But also, Quentin Williams isn't every down guy. Yeah, you know,
and so if you're playing that four man front, that's
obviously two Edges, so asie, whoever the hell they have
out there? And if you have Kenny Clark playing more three.
Speaker 5 (31:49):
Tech stuff, who does that?
Speaker 4 (31:51):
Who kind of gets those snaps taken away from them?
Because I mean that's obviously your OSA, and you're you
know what I'm saying, so like who would get because
you're if you're who would take who would get more?
Speaker 8 (32:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (32:08):
Who? I feel like it's a good problem to have,
And that's the exciting part before we kind of had
to I don't want to say settle, that's not a
great word, but I think it's similar.
Speaker 6 (32:17):
To the excitement when Kenny Clark came.
Speaker 7 (32:21):
It was like we were kind of forcing Solomon Thomas
into a certain role and then you were looking at
OSA like and then it was like Christmas came and
then oh right, and then now I think you saw
Solomon Thomas become more effective because what Kenny Clark was
able to come in there and do and hold them
against OSA. And I think the same thing is about
(32:42):
to happen. You just took another step up and now
you have more options.
Speaker 5 (32:45):
Yes, so I think.
Speaker 6 (32:46):
You're looking at Matt.
Speaker 7 (32:47):
Eberflus too from the front office standpoint, like, Okay, listen.
He's probably liked, I ain't got the personnel. This isn't
what I This isn't the personnel that I came thinking
I was going to have. They went, they got some,
They got the guy, and they got a piece who
should help. What's happening on that second level as well,
(33:08):
when I'm talking about Logan Wilson and directing the traffic,
which is something that they haven't really had with Samborn
being out as long as he had. Yes, we know
that he wasn't doing what he needed to do, but
he was directing traffic better than what a Kennick Murray
has been able to do. So I think this is
gonna put a little more pressure on eber Flues as well,
(33:29):
because people.
Speaker 6 (33:30):
Just like the Raiders, are calling for some people's jobs.
Speaker 7 (33:32):
I think that's what's been happening here because it's like,
all right, now what And I.
Speaker 4 (33:36):
Guess it's more it's a rotation based defense. I guess
it really don't well.
Speaker 5 (33:41):
I mean, honestly, the good teams have a good rotation
at defensive tackle, have multiple guys that they can throw
at you. And also too, yeah, like you said, Quentin
Williams is a is a every down guy, but those
other gentlemen around him. It should not Most of these y'all,
these big humans don't be having crazy motors all the time.
(34:02):
They need breathers, They need to They need also to
their certain packages that work better against other guys. So
I do think you get in some more options more. Yeah,
like you said, Breeze, you're getting more options on the interior.
I think your edgeplay has gotten better since you decided like, hey, no,
these are going to be our starters. These linebackers got
to come on with it. And what's happening at safety and.
Speaker 4 (34:24):
I know we're gonna take our second Breek here on
boards talk presented by in this line, we're very back.

We had to send Rina Aldrich, are you worsen? How
y'all doing? Y'all still good? Yeah? Yeah, ready, I'm ready
to see this team play.
Speaker 6 (37:25):
Yeah. Yeah, it feels like forever.
Speaker 5 (37:27):
It's starting to get kind of yeah.
Speaker 6 (37:29):
Another Sunday we got to sit there.
Speaker 5 (37:31):
Yeah, well, other teams.
Speaker 4 (37:32):
We were talking about this defense sticking with the safety position.
Obviously Malie Hooker been out a couple of games, had
to move be moved to i R. But I know
last week, well before the bye, of course, Shoddy had
mentioned that he should be coming back soon.
Speaker 5 (37:46):
Hopefully you do see get him back.
Speaker 4 (37:49):
But Donvan Wilson as well was out as well, were
just due to injury. So talk about that safety room
and who dang Elijah Clark to day, Yeah, why you
Thomas Mark Keith Bell.
Speaker 6 (38:02):
For a while.
Speaker 4 (38:04):
I think he's out for maybe a couple more weeks.
Speaker 7 (38:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (38:07):
I feel like a lot of Cowboys fans have been
one to see these two gentlemen play really been clamoring
for quite some time. I mean, I've in fairness, I'll
say that I'm one of them. Marquis Bell is someone
that I've watched closely. We've seen what's he's done when
he had to play the linebacker position, what he's done
in the nickel, but he has struggled on the field
(38:28):
in tackling and coverage. It's been very odd to see.
And then Janie Thomas also too, I would say, hasn't
played up to maybe even his expectations and his standards
at this point. So as much as I know Cowboys
Nation wants to get younger and get more guys at
that position, it seems like those old dogs might be
(38:50):
coming in there and stabilizing that room because it just
hasn't been I mean on the back end it hasn't
been great in the first place, but really from the
safety position and tackling, coverage, all of it, whole nine communication,
it's just not been good.
Speaker 6 (39:07):
Yeah, that's fair.
Speaker 7 (39:08):
If it ain't fixed on broke, Wait, if it ain't broke,
fix it ain't fixed on broke. Yeah, that's kind of
that's not a good that's the message.
Speaker 5 (39:14):
If it ain't fixed, this still broke.
Speaker 4 (39:17):
Everything broke.
Speaker 6 (39:18):
Yeah, but no, I agree one hundred percent.
Speaker 7 (39:20):
Some of these other positions, you've seen people get hurt,
and you've seen some of the rookies take advantage, and
you see some of those rookies like, hmmm, okay, that's
not the situation that's happening in the safety. I think
for a veteran like johnam and Wilson, like Bly Cooker
to get booted out the guys coming in there, I
have to really there has to be a clear gap,
and there there isn't.
Speaker 6 (39:41):
So I agree with you health wise.
Speaker 7 (39:43):
If the if the eldest of the safeties are available,
those are who we're going to see on the field.
Because I do feel like, at least again when you're
talking about that level on the defense, directing traffic, that's
who's been the strongest. Maybe reading correctly however, not getting
there some mistackles, yes, but when it comes to communicating
(40:06):
where they're.
Speaker 6 (40:07):
Supposed to be.
Speaker 7 (40:08):
Because I do remember talking or asking Shottenheim rafter one
of the games, like where there was a lot of
miscommunication there on the back in which it's been there
a while. I was like, hey, you have this many
explosive plays and he's just like, honestly, I called something,
we saw something moving in the offense.
Speaker 6 (40:27):
Half the team heard it, half it didn't.
Speaker 7 (40:29):
I don't think those type of mistakes happen when you're
having a Don and Wilson, Emily Cooker back in there.
Speaker 5 (40:35):
Yes, a lot, and I want to say that in
fairness to Marquise Bell and one Ye Thomas is again
like they're coming in trying to fill this role and
this is a news game, this is new communication. These
are guys that have been predominantly back up guys, so
I do think it is still a lot to ask
of them as well. So I'm not trying to be
hard on them, but I'm just being honest. Is that
(40:56):
it just I have been incredibly disappointed Marquise's bell, Marquise
Bell's play.
Speaker 7 (41:03):
I will feel say, when Jane wasn't there, I feel
like he was the stronger.
Speaker 5 (41:06):
Yeah, yeah, definitely definitely the stronger. And then also too,
I mean, well, if you want to talk about the corners,
they picked on six last week, they picked on two six.
They picked the on two six real heavily the other week.
And again, we don't always marry the safety room in
the corner room together. But I'm telling you, if corners
(41:27):
don't feel like they got the help that they need,
if they don't feel like you're gonna be in the
right spot either, they'll take chances. They'll and so I
feel like the communication also with the safeties and the
corners has not been good enough this year, and so
hopefully we see them improve over the season as the
season goes on.
Speaker 4 (41:43):
What's one thing y'all want answered by the Raiders matchup
Monday night? One thing? I know there's probably plenty, but
you get to choose one.
Speaker 5 (41:52):
Are your linebackers better? It's the second level better, because
I think your first level is slowly but surely getting better.
Those linebackers come in and feel and be better in
the run and tackle because it's going to make it
easier on your back end. It's gonna make it easier
for everyone. You know, if this front seven can play better,
then that's the big thing. So that's what I want
(42:13):
to see, what this front seven is moving forward?
Speaker 6 (42:16):
What you gotta bring?
Speaker 7 (42:17):
Yeah, I would say, what does your red zone offense
look like against this Raiders team? Talk about it, because
if we're gonna be talking about the miracles needed to
get six out of the next eight wins.
Speaker 4 (42:32):
You got to do in the red zone, it's been dusty,
ain't it very much?
Speaker 6 (42:36):
So exciting exposive plays.
Speaker 7 (42:38):
You get down the field three four plays and then
we just sit there and then it's a field goal
or you're going for it being aggressive and you can't
get it.
Speaker 5 (42:45):
So, yeah, that's those pre snap penalties here too. They
gotta get those pre snap penalties like out of there.
It's and it always, it seems like it happens a
lot in the red zone. There's there's a hole, there's something,
there's an illegal shift, there's something, and it's like, my gosh,
like with where you with what you need to do,
(43:06):
you can't keep getting down there having these long sustained
drives like Brie said, or these big is supposed to play.
You get down there, you need four yards and you
can't get it. Unacceptable, unacceptable. What about you here?
Speaker 4 (43:17):
I would say the run game. I mean we mentioned
it earlier. It's just who's that guy behind a Javonte Williams,
Because yeah, you can have the leading NFL's leading.
Speaker 5 (43:25):
Rusher or second leading rusher in the NFL, but.
Speaker 4 (43:29):
Can you sustain it around this time when you're playing
defenses like we're about to have to play so what
we're about to ask me?
Speaker 5 (43:36):
Well, I'm gonna say, are you surprised that they didn't
that they haven't done anything to really attack the running
back room, like obviously Jayden Blue has been kind of.
Speaker 6 (43:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (43:52):
I think that they had a lot of confidence in
Jaden Blue.
Speaker 5 (43:55):
Yeah, and Jayden Blue.
Speaker 4 (43:56):
And there was no real uh let me try to
find the words I'm using. Yeah, they had a lot
of confidence in Jaden Blue. But now it's gotten to
the point of the season where they come to the
conclusion like he's not ready for the physicality of the NFL.
Speaker 5 (44:10):
So do you elevate MafA?
Speaker 6 (44:12):
And I don't think they had a lot of confidence
in Jaden Blue.
Speaker 5 (44:14):
Do you elevate MafA? Because you you who.
Speaker 6 (44:16):
Else injured most of this season?
Speaker 7 (44:20):
But it looks like this would be the time that
he would be able to come out and see I
wouldn't mind seeing him.
Speaker 6 (44:25):
I think he brings something different to the room.
Speaker 7 (44:28):
Is he as Is he as physical as Javonte Williams.
Speaker 5 (44:35):
No, but he's closed, He's not afraid of contact, He's
not afraid of contact.
Speaker 7 (44:39):
It was a slippery guy, and I think he's seeing
in the NFL, being slippery, you're gonna have to take
some hits, and he's not used to taking the type
of hits that he's been able to do.
Speaker 6 (44:46):
But I will kind of disagree in a way that.
Speaker 7 (44:49):
This this team or this coaching staff had confidence in
Jaden Blue because he's one been a healthy scratch multiple times.
He didn't really get that opportunity once the season started. Yes,
he was a little bit injured the preseason, so that
could have been a lot to do with it. But
I think he's like, it seems like he gets less
of what the others do, if you know what, like
(45:12):
the fumble taking of football. We got some other guys
fumbling the football a couple of times as well, and
I just think there's not as much grace because the confidence, yeah.
Speaker 5 (45:20):
Well there.
Speaker 4 (45:20):
I think he was a draft pick, so there was
obviously confidence in him coming in and you know, hopefully
making an impact, and especially after the training camp that
he had, I mean, I feel like everybody thought that
he was gonna be obviously one of those guys in
that rotation behind him Miles Sanders, because Sanders had injury
issues when his last stop, so you just didn't know
(45:41):
if he was going to be sustainable, and you know
the kind of in the pudding. So Jaden Blue had
to come in and step in and.
Speaker 7 (45:48):
Uh, and I guess that's confidence. I think we had confidence.
I'm just saying the coaching staff they saw something. Again,
Oxnar can be tricky to the mind and what we see.
Speaker 6 (45:56):
I think.
Speaker 7 (45:58):
They because to me, I was like, I didn't know
if Miles Sandor was gonna make the team, to be honest,
when I was an ox Nard because really don't like
the Jayden Blue. I thought Jayden Blue would get over
it because of the height.
Speaker 5 (46:07):
I agree, I was more impressed. And then I feel
like the coach training camp went on.
Speaker 7 (46:12):
I think the coaches showed us what they saw in Oxnard.
And that's what I'm saying. Sometimes from the outside.
Speaker 5 (46:17):
But we think is not what they think. Okay, But
knowing this team, they always go veteran while we're edit.
Speaker 4 (46:22):
While we're at it, Hello, what do you want?
Speaker 5 (46:27):
Did y'all sign Hunter Lifty for decoration sprinkles?
Speaker 6 (46:31):
That's been a mystery.
Speaker 5 (46:33):
It's like a Scooby Doo mystery.
Speaker 6 (46:36):
Maybe they just want to give him some money. I
don't know.
Speaker 4 (46:38):
I think that's we're gonna stop about do no somebody
can find out.
Speaker 5 (46:42):
We're gonna bring it all down tomorrow here on Girls
Boys Talk. You gotta you know, am we the Medling.
Speaker 6 (46:47):
Keys was sitting here.
Speaker 5 (46:48):
I want to know because we know he all right.
That's it for today show.
Speaker 4 (46:52):
Fresha Warson, I'm the courch just and we'll see y'all
back here tomorrow at eight a m.
Speaker 1 (46:58):
